WAIT...dancing?! Henric may be good with any other things but DANCING?! No no ...huuuu....His sense of coordination was never in sync because he had two left feet.Nope.He was just going to sit here, enjoy his food, talked to llia who he was glad sat next to him...unless she wanted to dance too? Noel was already on his feet and pulling Leah with him too. Deng it...he missed his chance to get closer to her.Hmm...well...he was not going to move away from his seat, that was final...but he felt bad not able to participate fully with the rest of the class. But he did raised his hand to answer the professor but he wasn't sure if she could hear him. "They are very delicious food, thank you by the way, great way to have a great time with family and friends?"he shouted, hoping that his voice could be heard over the blaring music. "Uhh...you're going to dance too?"he asked, turning to llia. |
Abby was listening to what her fellow classmates were saying and taking notes and had nothing else to add to what the professor had asked and decided to wait for the next question |
Divination, like Astronomy, was a class that Yoongi hadn’t learned in Charms School. So this lesson was the first one for him and he felt like an overgrown first year. He was eating from his plate when the Professor started the lesson and like in Charms, he wondered why they had to move around. Did the Professors think they were all too lazy or fat? Did they want them to grow muscles or something? He liked his body right now, it was perfect if he said so himself. He did take his robe off (wearing his school uniform underneath as he had forgotten to look at the announcement board for comfortable clothes) and stood up. As the music began to play, Yoongi automatically moved his head on the beat and he was soon tapping his right feet on the ground and swaying a bit from left to right but he remained seated. “Smoothies” he answered. “Vegetable smoothie for example, you put some vegetables together, stir it until it becomes liquid and you can drink your food” |
"My summer was great, thank you for asking!" she said. She missed summer already and they were only a week or so into school. Ten more months to go! Leah looked up as familiar faces began arriving. A smile stretched across her face as Henric and Ilia sat down across from her, though it might have faded slightly at the ones they gave each other. There was nothing going on between them... right? The smile however, returned when she felt somebody slide into the empty seat next to her. She was about to reply to Noel, but after GRIIINING back at Adi and giving a friendly smile to Hayden, the lesson was starting. Morgan was happy like always. This was why the Fifth Year liked her. Why couldn't all professors be like her? Leah was already wearing comfy clothes, not like pajamas-comfy, but they were good enough. Oh YAY music time! She stood up and just moved around awkwardly before she was dancing with Noel. This was fuuun. She grinned at him before raising her hand. "Noel doesn't seem to like them much." HAHA. |
Great day to be happy indEED, wasn't it? Toby thought so too, but then he thought that about every day, but then probably so did Professor Cassie. He grinned at her still more and nodded, "I'm sure Bludger will be around soon enough." He seemed to gravitate to other cats and to cat people; Toby had often found him loitering up on the seventh floor. "Both of them, maybe." Toby had some wild ideas about borrowing his baby brother and bringing him to Hogwarts to show him off, but he was unlikely to actually put them into action. If anything, Javy might bring him to school one day, so it was a possibility. Or, maybe not, thinking about it. Ahem, yeah, anyway. Toby was all nice and settled, Darker side. DARKER side? Did she mean dark as in... with negative connotations? Or more like... turning the lights off and doing readings in the dark? Was this going to be a sad lesson? Because Toby didn't want to do sad. He listened, paying a little more attention now, perhaps because he was trying to listen for DETAILS on what this 'darker side' entailed. But she'd already moved on, and now they were... dancing. WELL... there was no way THAT could be negative, so everything was looking good so far. He leapt up out of his seat, bouncier than usual after that sugary soda, and began LEAPING around the classroom like a FAIRY PRINCE AT A BALL. Half dancing, half frollicking. "All these food and drinks," he piped up after a particularly hilarious pirouette. "Keep us ALIVE." Yes, Toby was being AGGRESSIVELY POSITIVE okay. |
Comfy clothes, food and music. Did life get any better than this? Extra cool points for the professor for this being allowed in a lesson. It was the little things in life that made AJ so happy. The professor didn't have to tell her twice to pile her plate high. There was so much food that there was no way one more of anything would be able to fit. Stuffing her face, AJ listened to Cassie go on about light and dark. In her personal opinion she liked when she touched on the darker side of Divination. It was pretty cool. Things weren't always "light," that just wasn't realistic. The music was cranked up and AJ got out of her seat and danced while still holding her plate of food. Swaying and stuffing her face. The girl was talented. The real MVP was the plate holding up with the weight of the food. What did they have in common? "Everything is yummy and puts me in a good mood." |
SPOILER!!: Zeke Having kept quiet while the snap cup things were read she snapped along like normal. However then they were being told to eat and then whoa...oh no.. did they have to 'dance'? She really didn't want to dance...didn't want anyone to know she could! Shifting slightly she glanced back at Zeke and shrugged placing a bit of cheese and some fruit onto her plate. Food was always good. Dancing though she didn't know. However she rose to her feet and with another look towards Zeke ended up grinning at what he was doing. Raising her hand she gave the only answer that came to mind. "They give us energy?" It was true really whether it was fruits and milk or soda it gave you energy. Now back to this moving about stuff...she was half tempted to ask Zeke to dance with her but she didn't simply chewing on her lip instead and not exactly moving much. |

She paused for a moment to sip more of her favorite fizzy drink, it tasted like cherries and licorice. Once she sat the cup back down she started dancing again. "They make up the food groups?" And even once she said it she knew it was wrong as she mentally calculated the food groups "Dairy, Fruits, Grains, Meat, Vegetables, Water, and Confections" Sighing she just continued to bounce about. |
Food, Dont mind if I do Professor... he he he. "Thanks Professor" she said while getting up from her soft little chair to go grab a plate of food. WOW! there was like almost everything here! piling up her place she carefully balanced it back to her table while taking out her bottle of pepsi that she was told to bring earlier. She placed it on the table as she started to eat some of the foods on her plate... this class was just the best you know, food, comfy chairs, pop.... and the Professor was just hands down awesome. Following instructions though Echo got up and started to dance by her chair, hoping someone would come and join her. |
She was so glad that all the students seemed to enjoy the food and many got up to move around. From dancing to jogging at least they were trying! She gave them all snaps and beamed. SPOILER!!: responses She watched them move around for a few more minutes before giving a clap. “Alright, very good. Please find your seats again. That is just enough amount of movement for now.” She beamed knowing the body would have moved the digestive system around just enough. “Now many of you have mentioned food being healthy, good, a party type of meal. All very good answers, but not quite what I’m looking for today. There is something that helps a Diviner with what we will be learning about today that involves all of these things. Every thing I picked today was for a reason, that reason is it is a gassier type food.” Stopping she paused for the giggles and whatever else the young minds thought about the word gassier. “There is a form of Divination that deals with the sounds of the stomach. It has been used in two different ways. One way which we will try and another which we are about to discuss.” “I would like you to forget all the manners your parents taught you when it comes to bodily noises just for this class. I’m not saying it’s okay to make those noises just for a laugh, but if it does happen we can just say it’s for educational reasons. Now many, many years ago this form was only used in a more darker setting.” She flicked her wand and the music went off and the lights went lower. “In 1652 and before this form was used to take omens from the belly, it was considered one of the ancient forms of ventriloquism, because the noises were said to be the sound of someone talking. The noises were more a of a fear for demons in someone and it was very common to see a Diviner over a grave in a cemetery speaking in a voice that sounded low and hollow. Can anyone tell me what this form of Divination is and why would they use it on someone who had already passed on?” She leaned against the table grabbing another piece of cheese before looking for someone to call on. |
Abby had no clue on what the answer was so she just waited to see what her fellow classmates were going to answer |
Oh this was going to be a very noisy lesson he he he. just randomly her hands went to her belly "hope no ones trying to speak to me" she thought while trying to figure out why she knew about this already. Holding up her hand she said "Professor, its called Gastromancy. It has to do with standing over someones grave and they are able to comminucate through the sounds of the belly?" she had heard one of her crazy aunts talk about this before but she was actually really surprised that it had stuck with her. |
"Can I have more than one raspberries?" Adi asked Zhenya. Because you know... FOOD WAS THE BEST THING EVER! He took an offered berry and popped it into his mouth. Yum! ................... Aw, man! His answer hadn't been right. Ah, well. But did they have to sit again? Disappointing but Adi knew they could not keep moving through the lesson so he flopped down back beside Zhenya. He eyed his Professor? Did she just say GASSIER foods? LOL! Divination... using the sounds of the stomach was what they were doing? It did sound familiar. It was likely he had read on it. So... bodily noises it was. Adi removed his specs as the lights were dimmed and after a bit of racking his brains, he raised his hand. "Gastromancy. They use it on the dead because... um...those that have passed on, if the bodies were fresh enough, the bodies made the same sounds as the stomachs of the living and it was easier to listen to the dead?'' You know, the sound of the gasses moving around. Anyway, was Adi even making sense? He looked at Professor Cassie, frowning a bit. He wasn't sure he put that into the best explanation. Hey, at least he gave it a shot. |

Also, she quite liked it when the professor clicked at her, and she didn't want to upset her AT ALL. Especially cause she thought this might just be her favourite class ever. ....... Okay but really? Rowan had NEVER heard of food divination, not seriously... wizards were weird. Sounded cool though, and it meant she could eat, so she was down. She listened to what people were saying and tried to come up with a different answer - wasn't worth repeating what everyone else said. "Professor, does a person's ghost come out if they fart after they're dead?" Yeah, that'd do it. |
Nom nom nom She was running around Emmy. She wasn't going to get her she ran and ate and ran from Emmy. Not that she was afraid of her. Because she wasn't. Not all at. It was just that Emmy was quite protective over her candy. She was sure that Emmy kept a count of every piece now. Hehe. She couldn't help it she needed the candy! But the candy had ended up being a bad idea. The sixth year was sitting there listening to Cassie talk about what the lesson was going to be about today. She kind of couldn't help but to silently giggle to herself over the lesson. The ways they could divinate things. Cats, crystals, water and ton of other things. Weird and cool. Apparently using bodily sounds to tell the future. Cinna snorted at the baby lions (Rusty) answer she couldn't help it. It was too cute. She was never getting into Emmy's candy again. She raised her hand. "Gastromancy. It's used to find omens?" That was right. right? She wasn't sure how exactly the dead was going to tell omens but she felt that she was on the right track here. |
Natalia was already at her seat. Haha. After listening to the professor's lecture, Natalia now understood why they had to do all these trivial things...it turned out the random feast wasn't trivial at all! So, the gassier the food, the more likely and louder the stomach makes the sounds, the better the results of the reading, huh? It made sense in the overall picture. Interesting... Natalia had never heard of such a type of divination, but she did admit that it was rather creative. Whoever came up with stomach-growl-reading must have been very bored but very imaginative...Einstein? Hurhur. "I have no idea what it's called, but I guess it makes sense to listen to someone's stomach after they're not living anymore..." It was difficult for Natalia to justify her answer logically; she just felt that no living person would allow another person to listen to their stomachs! How weird would that be? "I mean...it is very possible to fit a tiiiiny person in the stomach." So logically, the older civilization would have believed a person could be trapped in the stomach. |
AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Hayden had taken her seat again as instructed but she almost fell out of it again because she was laughing so hard. They were going to tell the future through FARTS? HAHAHAHA. Okay no, not funny. She was a nice, mature, fourth year lady. And it wasn't funny. Okay it was a little bit funny. It was pretty funny but Hayden would stop laughing because she had to at least pretend it was not funny. Hopefully that wouldn't be too hard. Hayden had no idea what that kind of divination would be called. One girl gave a very logical answer. Gastromancy. Alright that made sense. But why would they want to use that? Who would think there was any logical sense in that? Hayden did have one idea, so she raised her hand. "Maybe they thought that after people were dead their farts were actually messages in morse code." Maybe the dead could communicate about life was like after death, but they could only communicate through farts. HAHAHAHA. Nope not funny at all. |
Oooh, so she was right about the food being delicious and wrong about it being used for readings. LOL at them doing readings based on bodily noises, though. Okay, she was 16 but that didn't mean she couldn't get a little silent giggle over the idea. Some of these divination methods sure sounded odd. She HAD read about this last term though, while studying for her OWLs. Raising her hand, Lux took a shot at answering the question. "This form of Divination is called Gastromancy. Maybe it's used as a method of communicating with the dead? Because maybe if the body is fresh enough, it still makes bodily noises?" Ehhh, that was as good a guess as any. |
Angel raised her hand. "Professor isn't it called Gastromancy because it takes the voices from the belly?" Angel then thought about something. "So does that mean all the Ventriloquist people today are thought to be able to do this?" Angel was really lost and confused now. |
Toby was a big fan of this whole trend of the professors getting the students moving and grooving at the start of lessons. First Quigley, now Professor Cassie. And then there was Airey who aaaaaaaaaaaalways had them doing a lot of fun stuff that was almost like PE. Yeah. Toby liked this. He was still smiling and happy even when they were told to stop and go sit down, even. Though... a lot more bouncy now. It was not always such a brilliant idea to hype this not-child up. Wait... was Prof. Cassie trying to make them gassy? Oh boy, THIS was gonna be a hilarious lesson. Or completely embarrassing. Or both. Or neither. It would... definitely be informative, right? Bahahaha. And AH! So she DID mean literal darkness? Well THAT just made Toby even happier, and he beamed as the lights were lowered. Oh, but then death talk. Maybe THAT was the dark thing? It was all very confusing to think about. SO... what was the name for divining using... those sounds? No idea. Still, he raised his hand to answer 'cause WHY NOT. "Gurgle-omancy?" Oh... wait, probably not, as everyone else was saying that other thing. Welp. Toby pushed ahead anyway. "And, like, you said the sounds are like someone talking. Sooooo maybe it was used on the, um... living impaired... because they would be talking from beyond the grave. Like a... a... gaseous medium." |
Catching up Janelle listened as Professor Cassie asked a question about the food and drinks. After thinking about it for a moment, she raised her hand. "All of the food and drinks can be eaten alone or mixed with other food and drinks." Even though she didn't think that was what the Professor was looking for, Janelle had given it a try. It turned out that her answer was not correct, but oh well......she tried. Professor Cassie went on to explain the reason for the gassy foods they had been given. When she mentioned bodily noises, Janelle couldn't imagine what that had to do with Divination......but of course it did have something to do with Divination. As the next question was asked, her mind was blank. She had no idea what the reading bodily noises form of Divination was called. It took everything she had not to laugh at the thought of it. Hey, she couldn't help it. Chalk it up to being twelve. As she listened to her classmates answers, Janelle was afraid to think of what their class activity was going to be. Gassy food, bodily noises......she did not like where this was going. |
Kace smiled and I mean Professor Cassie did have great taste in food. I mean she had all his favorites here. That counted for something right? He began to snack on his food, when Professor Cassie asked him how does the food giving him energy relate to Divination? He honestly had NO idea and was stumped. He smiled and said, "I will get back to you on that one.." Then he went back to his seat and thought about it. How in the bloody merlin did food have to do with Divination? I mean he couldn't think of any ideas. He heard her addressing the class. Woaaahhh she picked gassier food!? Umm....Professor Cassie do you know what you are up against? No wonder he felt his stomach bubbling. When he heard he could burp. Kace grinned gleefully like a kid in a toy store. Don't mind I do. He was already feeling one coming on. He did a little... "BBUURRRRPPPPPP...." and he turned around and it felt awkward but relieving at the same time. He might as well be polite, "Excuse me.." he said and couldn't help but hold back a chuckle. This lesson was getting better and better. Props to you Professor Cassie. Props to you. He heard the term was Gastromancy because that sounded legit. He had no idea why they would use it. Kace was gonna give an answer coming out of his butt, "Professor I think they communicate using bodily functions like burping or farting because it is simple like code I guess. It is something the spirits understand. I mean they can't really speak because it is delayed but I guess simple sounds are easier to imitate to the person." That was his guess. |
<3 Marsha grinned wide as she was told to eat up. Best Professor ever. She thought as she opened her can of pepsi and took a sip before she pulled her plate over and started to fill it with as many foods as she liked that were in front of her. So much fruit! And cheeses and everything! Hehe. As she nibbled on some of the food on her plate, Professor Cassie asked them to get up and move around. Um… Food… Dancing… Foood… Daaancing… With a smile, she popped some more berries into her mouth and then stood up to join Rusty in dancing. She really didn’t have any good ideas for why they were eating these foods specifically, so she didn’t say anything simply listened to the others opinions and suggestions. However, when Professor Cassie told them to sit down again, she did so with a big grin as she continued eating the yummy food on her plate. And Pepsi! In glass! How awesome was this? Gastronomy… Hmm. Interesting. Hand raise. ”Oh, is it not also due to the fact that when people die, their bodies are still processing the food and drink that we have eaten in the previous day? But in the 17th century, it wasn’t likely that they would know that science agreed with that - so they probably assumed it was a ghost or a demon or something.” She paused and frowned slightly. ”I think, they were paranoid about people sneezing too… Is that not where the term ‘Bless you’ comes from? They thought it would stop their souls leaving their bodies... “ Right? Was she just rambling now? Probably. She should maybe just keep eating and listen instead of babbling. |
Hady easily and wordlessly slipped back down onto her seat when told they could sit once more. Sitting was best right now. Mhmm no dancing required when ones bottom was set firmly on a chair. Once seated comfortably she let her legs swing a little bit beneath the table but made sure she wouldn't come close to kicking anyone. It wasn't her fault she was still as short as she was and could barely reach the floor. Anyhow picking up a bit of cheese off her plate she began to nibble at it as she listen to Professor Cassie explain about the foods and what was going to be taught today. The talk of gassier foods and such didn't even cause the third year to crack a smile. It wasn't funny, it was normal. So no laughing from this girl. The question though yeah she didn't know. Sure she could guess but really everyone else was saying the same thing so she choose to keep quiet and just listen for now. |
Um.....as Eden ate...and listened...and took notes...what was even HAPPENING? FOOD GURGLE DIVINATION? How weird. She didn't mind, but it was still weird. In fact, it kind of made her giggle to herself, because someone BURPED-- She smirked over at KACE, the CULPRIT. Heh. Eden THOUGHT about letting out aaaallllllll her burps but...eh...she had to be classy. Why? Well, because she just WANTED to be classy today. She had actually brushed her hair for once....yeah. It was a classy day. Classy-ish. She also had NO IDEA what the answer to Professor Morgan's question was, but...yeah. She just ate. A lot. And almost choked when that first year asked about farting. WHAT WAS HAPPENING?! |
