Ophelia tired not to audibly sigh as she walked into the Divination classroom. Needless to say, this wasn't her favorite class. The third year would rather be doing ANYTHING outdoors than reading teacup fortunes or learning about the stars or whatever. The thirteen year old was mover and a shaker, not someone who sat and tried to look into the future. Not to mention the fact that the blonde always had trouble in this class. That didn't help. Scribbling down a proud moment, Ophelia placed it in the snapcup before sitting down at her desk and waiting for class to start. Please be an interesting class. SPOILER!!: proud moment from Ophelia At least it was Friday the 13th. That might shake things up a little bit. In fact, Ophelia wondered if this was actually going to be an interesting lesson and not just the usual. Hopefully. Come on, don't waste the date, she thought to the Professor. This was a big moment. A biiiiig moment. Bigger than when Ophelia first realized how to get pictures out of her camera. Speaking of which, she missed the little guy. The third year caught herself several times trying to hold up her hands to catch something she thought was interesting, though there was nothing clutched in her hands. It became disappointing after the third time, and after the forth, she managed to stop. For now. |
It was still too freaking early. Grayson HATED waking up so early for classes and had practically had to drag himself out of bed just so that he can get here on time. A hard feat to do, really, considering how far away this classroom was from his dorms. Jeez, climbing those stairs was like doing a workout for a decade. But the Slytherin finally entered the classroom, not at all surprised to find the snapcup right there. Ugh! Hadn't someone burnt this thing already? They should. Because-- YOOOOOOOOOO! Was that FOOD?! Now THAT was something he was excited to see. The boy quickly scribbled down something on a piece of parchment before dropping it into the snapcup. Text Cut: proud moment Alright food, we're coming for you, man. "'Sup, Professor Cassie," the seventh year called as he practically zoomed his way towards a long table and helped himself to, well, everything. He was kinda sad that there wasn't anything meaty here -- what if he wanted bacon? -- but quickly let go of that once he got his fizzy drink and took a seat, munching away on the food on his plate. This was the life, man. |
DIVINATION! Eden was SO EXCITED FOR DIVINATION. She practically ran here from her common room--it was why she was slightly out of breath and her cheeks were tinged a light pink as she stepped into the classroom. WAIT. WAIT. HOLD ON. THERE WAS FOOD? THERE WAS FLIPPIN' FOOD. Eden was the happiest seventeen-year-old IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE right now. She didn't wait to grab a plate and have a seat, BEAMING at Professor Morgan as she did so. No shame. Eden McGee had NO SHAME when it came to FOOD. "HOWDY PROFESSOR!" Howdy? HOWDY? Had she EVER said HOWDY before?!?! NO. BUT APPARENTLY SHE WAS SAYING IT TODAY. She needed to write her snap cup thingy first, though--before devouring anything--so she DID. SPOILER!!: SNAP CUP |
Divination. Did she really have to say more? It was one of her favorite classes with one of her favorite professors. Yeah, she wasn't going to lie she had her favorites. Everyone did right? She bounced into class, which was weird for her. Maybe she shouldn't have have taken some of Emmy's candy this morning. Shh! Emmy doesn't know. Lalala. She headed up the trap to door. Still bouncy and stuff this was weird. No more candy for her ever again. Okay not really. It was a good thing she had on her comfy clothes after class she was going to go run some of this energy off .... And food she smelled food. Yep now she was going to have to run off the food too. Soda can in hand she was faced with a different set up than what she was used too. And the snap cup. She couldn't forget about the snap cup. She was doing this now. Yep. That way she could just go to her seat and not have to get up again. Although she might be too hyper to sit down for long. Proud moment of the day? Mmmm SPOILER!!: snappy snappy snap cup She dropped her paper in the snap cup. "Goood morning, professor Cassie!" She bouncing a bit. She should really control herself a bit more. No more of that candy of Emmy's no wonder why her friend was always so hyper. She was always eating that candy. Bouncing on she found herself a seat and flopped down in it. Of course she grabbed a plate. |
Anyone can grab him :) Tyler climbed up the tower and entered the classroom and was stunned by what he saw, were they going to have a fancy dinner or something? Seems so by the tables that were set out and how there was food on the tables. Did those bits of food have something to do with the class? he wondered what if they did. So he gave the professor his bestest smile "Hi Professor, Im Tyler, nice to meet ya" he greeted her before sitting down and seeing they had something to do before class had even started. His proudest moment? Nothing came close to the day when he got his letter, come on! who does not want to go to a school to learn magic!! So he decided to put that down. Text Cut: Proud moment There he had written it down, meaning that it was true and no other moment made him prouder. He again wondered what all this had to with the class. But he knew that the professor knew what she was doing, so he waited, silently. |
Oh Emmy knows Cinna. She doesn't miss a trick.

<3 Marsha wasn’t really sure what to expect in Divinations. She had been through hurdles in Charms and had a heart attack and a jazzy singing professor in Astronomy - so what that meant for Divinations she had no idea…. but she was very excited to find out. Moving into the classroom … which looked nothing like a classroom … Marsha smiled at the Professor. She had only seen her around the Great Hall,so she didn’t really know much about her. So on top of her smile, she gave the pretty blonde (who looked kinda like her Mam) a nice little wave. Hiii. She thought as she moved over to sit next to Rusty. At least with these tables, Evie and the boys could join them too and they would still have space to meet new students. Hehehe. SPOILER!!: Snappy Cup ”Woah,” Marsha said as she put the paper in the cup and looked at the spread. ”Suddenly I’m really happy I decided to skip breakfast and sleep a little longer.” Best decision ever for a Friday morning… AND she got to be comfy in her jeans and t-shirt. Hehehe. So far, she was loving this Professor just as much as Professor Airey… whatever her name was. Whoops. |
Food? FOOOD! Hayden was digging the music as she made her way up to Divination. She was even more excited when she got there and saw the room filled with food. FREE FOOD IN CLASS! It was like a dream come true. She went to the snap cup first, because if she went to the food first she would never get up from the table. What was she proud of? Hayden paused to think for a moment before writing. SPOILER!!: paper When that was taken care of, she turned to see professor Cassie. "Hello," she said cheerfully. "How are your kitties?" They were so adorable. Maybe Hallie would like them. They could totally schedule a kitty playdate! Help, her heart hurt from the thought of how could that would be. FOOD! Finally she was able to go sit at a table. Hayden chose a spot by Leah, and not far from Norah. She, very politely, selected some crackers and cheese for herself. And poured herself a nice glass of milk of course. Then she turned to her friend sitting next to her. "Hi Norah," she said cheerfully. And it was time to EAT! |
SPOILER!!: ones that said hello “Good morning everyone, I know it’s close to lunch time so I hope you are hungry. If you haven’t already please grab a plate, pile it high if you’d like, and eat. I asked you to bring your favorite soda, if you didn’t there are drinks up front.” She hoped they all had something. “For anyone who is new and don’t know me I’m Professor Cassie Morgan. You are welcome to call me Professor Cassie.” She wasn’t her mother so it was fine to use her first name. Now to get down to business, picking up the snap cup she started to pull out the proud moments. “Anyone who doesn’t know the snap cup will soon learn to love it. I feel it’s a great way to start the class on a positive note. As I read everyone’s moments you will snap for the person.” Were they ready? “I'm a third year now.” She snapped for the person’s proud moment, “m proud I have made it to Seventh year without a detention, or losing points.” “I was really proud when I beat my older brother in a tree climbing contest” I ran a pet rock adoption fair with Professor Flamsteed at the start of term feast.” I’m super proud of being sorted into Gryffindor!” She snapped for each until she had read them all. Leaning against her desk she grabbed a piece of cheese and took a bite, swallowing before speaking. “Divination can be a very complex subject. It has different parts to each form that we use. One part can be fun, light, and good. A reading about a person’s personality or their future. You’ve done in my past lessons ways to find things, know when a visitor is coming, and even how to match a sign, but there is another side to each form a darker side. We will usually only use the lighter side of things, but sometimes I do like to touch the darker side so you can be more aware of it.” She gave them her bubbly grin before getting up. “Before we get into all of that though, I must thank the ones that did read the notice on your house boards and wore comfy clothes. Your robes are just too much for this lesson. So if you did wear your robe, please take it off. Your uniform underneath will do.” She had noticed some had come in school robes, which she was fine with, but it would be easier in the end if they didn’t have them. “Now why don’t we have a little bit of fun before we begin?” She waved her wand and the music turned up just a bit louder. “Feel free to stand up and move around, dance, jump, anything that involves body movement. While you are doing that can anyone tell me anything that all the food and drinks have in common?” What a happy upbeat tune that had come on, Cassie even bounced to the beat as she watched the students. So sorry I didn't post earlier like I said I would. A street lamp in front of my house was on fire, so got distracted by fire trucks and neighbors thinking it was my house! |
The dark part of divination? Hayden didn't know what that was supposed to mean and she wasn't sure she wanted to find out. But she was already in class so there was no backing out now. Plus there was free food, AND she really liked professor Cassie so she couldn't leave. Hopefully they weren't going to do anything too scary. Professor Cassie was nice, and that made Hayden feel a bit better. And first they were DANCING! Hayden shoved the rest of her food into her mouth before getting up. She wasn't a particularly good dancer, but at least she was having fun. Hayden finished chewing and swallowed before she raised her hand to answer the question. "You can eat them all." She knew that definitely was not the answer professor Cassie was looking for but hey, she wasn't wrong. |
Zander wasn't sure why Norah was smiling at him so much... But he smiled back, not as enthusiastically but STILL. Merlin. It was kind of creepy? Not that she was creepy... Just all the smiling. Who in the name of Merlin's greying underpants would ever be happy about a lesson? Ravenclaws maybe? And Sophie Brown for sure. Though he was VERY quick to jump to his feet at the mention of all the food stuff. Without a second more of waiting, Zander ran over to grab and plate and began piling up the food, skipping the vegitables of course. He also grabbed a bottle of water because he maybe sort of kind of forgot to read the notice board again. It was a very hard thing to remember to do, okay? And erm... Also took off his robe as he sat down. Merlin. ... Whut? Was that a trick question? "Uh, they're all edible?" he offered with a raised hand. Yup, that's all Zander had. |
SPOILER!!: Hady Comfy clothes, yeah, that... he was fine in his uniform, minus the robes... robes did tend to get in the way, why were wizards so impractical? Hhhmm? "Yeaahhhh... I only brought a book," he noted, he hadn't cared enough to bring soda. Whoops? OH WELL. The lesson was still a mystery. SPOILER!!: Adi Seeing Adi arrive, Zeke returned his greeting with a small wave of his own. Hehe. HI. SPOILER!!: Prof Cassie How was his day so far? "Okay I guess," he decided, though really it was too soon to tell. How his following lessons panned out would have a great impact on whether the day was a pleasant success or a ghastly failure. He was hoping for the former. The introductions were stock standard, and he was mildly amused that his snap cup was read out. He WAS a third year now indeed. T'was cool. Food and drink though, he didn't have any yet, should he go get some? Get someone else to get some? Did they NEEED it for the lesson or was it just there as an option??? So many questions. In the end he exchanged a side glance with Hady. What was she planning to do about this? Before he knew it though, they were being instructed to stand and to... dance?... and things. Uh huh. Okay. Righto. Zeke remained seated. Were they going to force him to do this to music? Or could he get away with sitting, OR... jogging? He could jog quite well. Reluctantly, he rose from his seat and did a little side-stepping thing, his arms flailing at his sides. Yep. He was moving. And what did food and soda have in common??? "We can taste them?" he offered, a hand semi-raised as he continued to flail about. |
What was happening exactly? Natalia was still sitting awkwardly at one of the banquet tables and stuffing her face (attempting very hard in a satisfying, lady-like manner) with all the food she can. Get up and dance? No way, not now. Divination sure looked like an entertaining and relaxing course! Natalia hoped that every divination class would be like this (and with food, preferably). Sure, she never understood the irrational side of this abstract subject like she understood logic and reason. But hey, Nat wasn't born with to be a seer, and she never planned to be one. The foremost plan right now is to pass the course and enjoy the experience! What the food and drinks have in common? That was a peculiar question. "They both make us happy." Natalia responded while situated in her seat. No way was she going to dance or move around in front of everyone. She was perfectly comfortable where she was. "They keep us alive and make us happy." cc: |
He took his robe off once the Professor asked them to. It reminded him in his dance lesson in Kirin since they didn't need to put on their uniform on that class. Just a pair of training shoes, plain t-shirt and sweatpants. But he didn't wear them today because he thought it was kinda rude to attend a class with those outfit so he chose to put his favorite sweater, cream-colored pants and sneakers. He did some stretching, jumping while putting on his hand in the air. Everyone put your hands up and get your drinks up! Okay, that's enough. He went back to his seat and answered the Professor. "Well, I think you did serve such a... healthy selection." Because there's milk, fruit, veggies.. Well, exclude the soda. It wasn't healthy. Too much sugar in there. |
That Parks and Rec reference tho SPOILER!!: professor and the beginning of class Food and drink? This was Ophelia's kind of class. Okay, maybe this would be the one Divination lesson that didn't completely annoy her or make her want to nod off. No offense to the teacher, or to those who actually enjoyed Divination, but the little blonde didn't have the sight, or whatever you called it. Nope, no way. It just wasn't there. There were some people who had it and others who didn't, and the thirteen year old fell so hard into the second category she bruised herself coming down. Piling her plate and taking out her soda, the short girl listened respectfully and gave snaps to each other her classmates. This was the one thing she could get behind. It was cool hearing what your classmates were proud of. Especially when it was something exciting, like making it to seventh year without detentions. Kudo's to whoever put that! She was tempted to laugh a bit, as Austin would never get to put that in the snap cup and for some reason she found that amusing. Even thought it totally wasn't. AHEM. The darker side of Divination? Was there a darker side? You could find out when someone died, or like maybe read a bad future, but that was really it. What else did this mumbo-jumbo really do, exactly?Getting up slowly from her seat and slipping some food into her mouth, Ophelia felt glad that they got to move around for a little bit. It would keep her from getting sleepy, and maybe the eating while moving would cancel each other out. Was that how digestion worked? Probably not, but whatever. What did the food and drinks have in common. Peculiar question for a peculiar course. Well, a peculiar question got a strange answer, and this was Ophelia's. HAND RAISE. "Food and drink are both delicious and keep us healthy. Without food we wouldn't have the energy to dance or jump around like we're doing now." She stopped for a second to prove her point. "For example, this is the soda I just drank." She bopped up and down. "This is last nights supper." She made tiny punching motions, careful not hit anyone. "And this is what I just ate. "And she hopped with more vigor. Was that correct? Was she close? What did this have to do with Divination? |
Oooh, the lesson was starting now! More happy snaps and gentle bouncing in her seat were happening. What was this about the darker part of divination? Penelope suddenly stopped bouncing and snapping. Was today going to be one of those days where they learned about the darker part of divination? Takes off robes if you're wearing them... No, Penelope was not wearing her robes. Fun before they begin. Sounded fun. She was feeling happy and bubbly again. Standing up, she jumped and bounced as she thought about the next question. What did all of the foods have in common? Penelope stopped moving and stood very still, deep in thought. This was a divination lesson, and there was food, and the food was supposed to have something in common. "Can all of these foods be used for some form of divination?" That would make sense, seeing as this was a divination lesson. |
"I'm super great, Professor, thanks for asking,'' said a bubbly and happy Adi. Allll this food was driving him crazy. Where were the cookies hiding, though? ...................... The darker side of things? Interesting. VERYYY interesting. Adi nommed on a piece of cheese, his head tilted to the left side as he watched Professor Cassie. Count him in for whatever she had in her mind. Anywhoooo, the comfy clothes. Right! Adi had not worn his robes because he had chosen to wear a batman tee shirt with a comfortable black pants so he was all set for jumping right in to the lesson. Yep! And dancing! YEAAAH! The Puffer was not one bit good at dancing but he jumped right up and got himself moving. He probably looked silly but WHO CARED? Certainly not him! LOL. His hand was up and he replied, "They all taste good.'' What?! Adi had no problems with veges. |
SPOILER!!: Adi Zhenya noticed Adi walk into the classroom, then he sat next to her. She smiled at him, then laughed. "Hey Adi! Sure," she said, taking a piece and eating it. "Raspberry?" she asked, offering him a nice raspberry. Quote:
SPOILER!!: Professor Zhenya didn't hesitate, she got her plate and filled it up with delicious food and ate away. She listened to Professor Cassie introduce herself and the class of Divination, before turning up the music and encouraging them to get up and boogie! She looked around, took everything in… soda, water, milk, and an assortment of foods. She raised her hand and waited, then said "Uh… it's food you'd find at a PARTY?" she asked, a big smile on her face. Were they having a PARTY? |
As Kace was taking the food, he heard Professor Cassie say hello to him. He gulped and didn't expect her to hear him say teach. Whooopsss. "Erm.." he cleared his throat. "Hello Professor Cassie.." he smiled greeting her formally. "Nice food selection you got here." he said pointing to all of the food. Sitting at his table and eating his delicious food, the big puff heard the Professor reading out all the proud moment strips. I mean it was a good idea on the teachers part to do this. It made everyone feel special in their own way which is what you want right? Now onto the lesson. After finishing his meal, he heard Professor Cassie wanting them to get up and do some physical activity? What is with all the teachers making them do physical activities? I mean first Maddox and now her? Well if she insisted. He got up from his seat and started stretching. I mean he was gonna exert himself after finishing the food. Professor Cassie asked them what does the food and drink all have in common? That is an interesting question. He shrugged and raised his hand, "Ermm the food and drinks are all used to give us energy?" |
Eden smiled up at Professor Morgan...and yeah...she had forgotten to wear comfy clothes. OOPS. She slipped her robe off and...dug into her food because FOOD. And even if she had decreased her FOOD intake lately due to low spirits, she was starving right now so...yeah. OOOH dark side...it all sounded so COOL and mystical. And cool. COOOL. She raised her hand. "Um....well...none of these foods could make a meal...not enough protein..." Eh. It was probably not what Professor Morgan was looking for, but it was a all Eden had to offer. And milk was protein enough, wasn't it? Pffffft. |
Norah grinned even more when Zander smiled back 'cause it was proof that it was WORKING. It really did look like she was happy. Take that, Mr. Prefect Man. She fooooled you. She should become a master detective or something with this level of skills, uh huh. The fourth year snapped along with Professor Cassie when each proud moment was read, using the noise as a cover to let her face fall back into a little frown again. She didn't like frowning but it just kept happening today. Weird werd. But then the snapping was over and it was time for FOOD. Putting the big ol' grin back onto her face, she got up from her seat and piled a big plate full of fruit and cheese ('cause who needed vegetables anyways), and a glass of milk which she toted back to the table only spilling a few eensy weensy drops so really it didn't count as spilling at all. It was a relief to have food though, 'cause she could stop smiling when she was eating and nobody would even suspect anything. 'Specially Zander, because he was friends with Sophie Brown AND was prefect so if she didn't look grown up enough in front of him it'd be all sorts of bad news. She paused her chewing to give him a close-mouthed smile (because MANNERS) just in case he'd forgotten how un-mopey she was, before taking a big swallow and turning her attention to Professor Cassie again. What did the food have in common? Like besides the fact that it was...food? Um um. Uuuummm. She busied herself with taking her robes off from on top of her comfy clothes instead of answering. Here she was thinking she was an EXPERT on food and she had nothing at all to say. Lame lame LAME. WHY was she being so LAME. Norah stared at her plate and didn't smile and didn't chew and didn't answer. Just moped. 'Cause she had no answer at all. |
Lux smiled at Professor Cassie. "I am doing awesome, thanks!" She had talked to Bay earlier and that always made her really happy. She was so ready to learn new things about Divination! Taking a plate, she filled it with different foods. Even though she had eaten breakfast there was nothing stopping her from having more. As she ate, she listened to all the proud moments, snapping along. She always enjoyed this part of the lessons. It was nice to have a refresher about Divination, and because she had worn comfy clothes, Lux didn't need to take her robe off. Getting up from her seat and began dancing. It was so much fun making up random dance steps!! Raising her hand to answer the question she said, "they are all delicious and can be used to do readings?" The last part was just a wild guess. |
SPOILER!!: Prof Rusty was content with water, since she didn't drink fizzy drinks or milk, so she sipped at her drink whilst Professor Cassie spoke. Ah so THAT'S what the snapcup was... it... was interesting? Rowan didn't see what clicking your fingers would do for anyone but she was ALL FOR anything that would make people happy, so she clicked along with the rest of the class as the professor spoke, and found herself grinning even bigger by the time they were done. Okay.. so it did work. Cool. Rowan liked this teacher. .... Darker side? Were they going to do that? Cause Rusty wasn't too sure she wanted to know about the darker side. She was all about light and happiness, and when people's readings turned out bleak back home she did all she could to cheer them up afterwards, because she liked people being happy and things. She fiddled with the sleeve of her tie dye sweater as she thought about it... surely the professor wouldn't make them do anything really dark, right? So it'd be okay. And now they were dancing?!!! Well that was one of Rusty's favourite things in the world to do! Especially because she had no hint of self consciousness about her, so she moved around, twirling and waving her arms and generally doing whatever she wanted, dance-wise, even if it did make her look a bit ridiculous. She didn't mind. She was having fun. She wasn't sure exactly what all the food had in common, but she gave one of the older girls a funny look. Not enough protein? Rusty lived off a plant based diet, and she had enough protein, so it was fine, it was just about which fruits and nuts and soy and things you ate. "They're all vegetarian, professor?" Unless she had some of that sneaky cheese that wasn't... Rowan eyed the dairy suspiciously... |
Angel sighed as the Professor asked how her summer had been. "Dismal. I was ill most of it." Angel really hadn't liked being ill but at least she had been well enough to go on the field trip. Angel then raised her hand as she listened to the professor. "Professor do they give you too much energy if you have too much of them, like you will go hype." Angel wasn't sure but it was worth a try. |
SEE this was why he liked Divination. It was light and fun. When the professor turned up the music, Noel got up and moved a little and gave Leah a few spins too. Thankfully he was not in his robes already so he didn't have to go through the hassle of all that. At her question, Noel rose his hand before saying: "they are all just awfully healthy. Not for a party definitely" Not his kind of party anyway. |
