Entering in the barnyard, you are greeted with the rows of gated stables. Those who have been in "The Stables" previously will first notice the absence of being first greeted by Winged Horses. Where could they be? Why they've just been moved even further down towards the opposite open double-doors for easier access. Instead of fully cleaned out stables before you however, you see new creature inhabitants. Some familiar-looking from earlier classes and outdoor playpens, some not so familiar-looking.. Nearby the stables you see the wall with pink-glittered gloves and apron by the refilling tray of food. It looks fairly cozy otherwise around here now.

Sophie hummed a soft, cheery tune to herself as Genevieve made quick work of eating her supper. The amount of liquefied meat in the bottle was decreasing rapidly and the Ravenclaw watched with great interest, noticing the way the griffin's beak wiggled as it did so and threatened to dig its front talons into her hand holding the bottle. The talons inched closer and closer to the bottle and Sophie's hand on it, and looked just about ready to claw into her when Genevieve finished the contents of the bottle, so Sophie pulled it away, much to her griffin's disappointment.
"There's no more, Genevieve. That's all y'get. Maybe some day when you're a big scary griffin you'll get to eat loads more - like a MILLION bottles worth of raw meat. So don't worry," she reassured, uncapping the bottle and removing her wand from its holster again. "Tergeo. Scourgify," she cast both spells on the inside of the bottle and its lid before capping the bottle and setting it off to the side.
With her full tummy, Genevieve was now trying to wiggle her way out of the blanket in Sophie's lap and Soph let her, curious to see where she'd go. The griffin sniffed around the pen before burrowing into a blanket in the corner, burying its head under it and flopping down. And just laying there. Just like that. With its head being covered by the blanket.
What a dork.
Did that mean she wanted to nap? Or... was she being playful and hiding? Sophie didn't know, so she crawled over to sit beside the griffin just as the griffin jumped up to all fours, the blanket flying off her head, and she lunged with both front talons at Sophie's thigh, pecking at it with her beak. It didn't hurt, but the sixth year still let out an "Oi!" and grabbed for the baby griffin's torso, pulling it backward and away from her. Genevieve nipped for her arm instead, and Sophie threw her hands up in the air, letting the griffin go in defeat, and Genevieve lost interest in Sophie and wandered over to get herself a drink of water.
Well then. Moody thing, it was.
She was just going to... sit over here... and watch and wait to see what else the griffin would do, then. Hopefully its future desires to play around would be taken out on its fellow griffins instead and not her, right? Merlin.
When Toby finally put the brush down, Griffin turned and gave him a look as if to say 'wait no what are you doing'. He pet her feathers and scratched the top of his head.
"Gotta wash your feathers now, Griff," Toby said, speaking gently as he used his free hand to test the water in the bucket. He watched her eye it warily. "Don't worry, you're not going in there. See?" He picked up one of the sponges and dunked it in the sudsy water, gently nudging the baby griffin off his lap so he could wash her and not... well... not himself, too. But Griffin had other ideas, and as soon as she was on the floor, she turned right back around and stood on his legs again instead.
... It was fine. He could work with this.
Using the sponge, Toby began to methodically clean Griffin's feathers, working his ways from her head down the rest of her body. He couldn't rightly tell if she liked it or not, because she was squirming around, but she was a BABY and a hyperactive one at that. In the end, he just assumed she didn't mind getting a bath, because there would probably have been squawks of protest if it was really that awful. Monty had loved the process when they'd helped wash the Hippogriffs back in his fifth year.
It took a while, thanks to Griffin's fidgeting (Toby had a renewed appreciation for anyone who had ever tried to sit and have a conversation or something with him when he was all hyper), but eventually he'd soaped up all her feathers and was ready to rinse her off. And, for the record, he was already soaked, and clearly it was about to get worse. Not that he minded.
"Evanesco." Toby vanished the water already in the bucket and then filled it up with water again. He repeated the same process as before, warming it up, though not for too long this time because he didn't want Griffin to have to water around while the water cooled, otherwise she'd be all soaking wet still and freezing. "Almost done, Griffin. Then we'll dry you off and get a blanket 'round you, yeah?"
He took the sponge and rinsed it in the now clear warm water, and got to work going over Griffin's feathers again, washing away the soapy stuff and leaving her feathers clean and gleaming. But still very wet. And, as predicted, so was Toby's uniform. But the important thing was that Griffin got dried off, sooooooo Toby cast another spell that sent a warm jet of air out of his wand and used it to carefully dry her feathers.
After a short while, Griffin was stood, still in his lap, all clean and dry and adorably ruffled. She looked at Toby and gave what sounded to him like a pleased-sounding squawk. He squawked back.

So, her little griffin was fed and bathed, and now she was starting to get a bit sleepy. "Evanesco," Zhenya said, pointing her wand at the bucket of warm water she had, which disappeared. "Scourgify," she said, pointing her wand at the bucket and curving her wand into the 'S' shape, cleaning the bucket. "Wingardium Leviosa," she said, flicking her wand in the up, down, up motion, levitating the bucket up and over to where she had picked it out from. She wriggled backwards so that she could rest her back on the wall of the barnyard, with Vaska in the crook of her arm. Zhenya pulled the blankets up a little bit more to cover her. "Accio bag," she said, waving a half oval with her wand and summoning her bag, which was a few metres away from her. She pulled out a small teddy which she had charmed so that Vaska couldn't destroy it. She didn't want her griffin to ingest any of the materials. What if she choked? What if they were toxic? It was her own little toy to claw at, play with, and bite. Zhenya tucked it in under the blankets, then pulled out her old, battered copy of Tales of Beedle the Bard.
She had wanted to bring a small bottle of vapouring elixir to open in the barnyard, to help create a soothing, stress free, relaxed environment, but she didn't want the entire barnyard to smell of the pleasant relaxing scents. Besides, she didn't know if it would be good for any of the animals, and she hadn't asked Professor Thompson if that would be okay. So the bottle of vapouring elixir remained on her beside table, where she had been using it all year. It really did work to help her sleep at night.
Zhenya flipped the pages along until she got to her favourite tale as a child; The Fountain of Fair Fortune. "High on a hill in an enchanted garden, enclosed by tall walls and protected by strong magic, flowed the Foundation of Fair Fortune..." she began reading out loud to Vaska, in a calming and quiet voice. She always loved bedtime stories by her father, brother or grandparents, and now she got to give a bedtime story to Vaska. Zhenya looked down and saw that Vaska's eyes were slowly starting to become heavy. She looked so comfortable. "The three witches and the knight set off down the hill together, arm in arm, and all four led long and happy lives, and none of them ever knew or suspected that the Fountain's waters carried no enchantments at all. The End," she finished, and looked down to see Vaska fast asleep in her arms. Zhenya put the book down and carefully stood up, then places Vaska down to sleep in her barn, leaving with a quiet "Goodnight Vaska."

Brutus was all nice and snug, and this meant this griffin mama could get his bottle all ready. Merlin, was this how it felt with a real baby? Minus all the screaming and crying of course. Oh, and the dirty diapers. Did she really want kids when she got older? There would be plenty of time to worry about that because she was only fourteen and the main thing she was worried about at the moment was tacos and unicorns.
Too much daydreaming and not enough bottle making. AJ repeated the steps that she did in class. Raw meat was added. Then the bottle was heated up. Next, she added a teensy bit of water. The lion even shook it a bit to make sure it was nice and mixed. Did it really matter though? Who knew.
"Here comes the choo choo train. Chugga, Chugga, CHOOO CHOOO." The fourth year went all out and made the bottle rock up and down while it made its way to the baby griffin. "There." Bottle was inserted in the creatures mouth and this meant she could at least get a few minutes peace, and no bites.
Rather than banishing all the supplies, Toby actually got up and took them back to where they belonged, needing to move around a little more because he was getting all sorts of fidgety and antsy. Griffin had on her sad face again, and tried to follow Toby out of the stable. He'd hesitated for a moment, but let her trot along at his heels, seeing as he trusted her.
Toby stowed everything away, and grabbed a soft-looking blanket, at which point he felt a sudden weight at his feet. Looking down, he saw that Griffin had made herself at home, sitting on his feet and looking straight up at him with that cute little face. He smiled, and shook his head. "How are you so adorable? How do you even manage it?" Toby asked, bending down and scooping up the griffin baby into his arms. "Reckon you could give my little brother a run for his money."
With Griffin snuggled in his arms and trying to nip at his ear, Toby gathered up a bottle (with some meat scooped up inside it, though that part made him go a little green) and headed back into the stable and off into one of the corners and sat down with her. "I think we should get you all warm and fed so you can sleep, yeah? But first we can play."
That's right. Tire her out, get some of that energy worked out so she was tired enough to fall right asleep later. Toby knew sometimes he could only sleep if he'd done a lot of charging about during the day.
He set Griffin back on the floor and the bottle and blanket beside him. At first, probably because she could smell the meat, she tried to go poke her beak about and see what was going on, but Toby was quick in lighting up his wand so that a beam of light shot out of it.
"Hey, hey Griffin. Look! What's this?!" he said in an excited voice to the adorable little baby, directing his wand so the beam shone on the floor directly in front of her. Toby's line of thinking was kinda like how his cat liked to play this game. Griffin was immediately interested, leaning her head down low to inspect the exciting new development. Toby twitched his wand and sent the beam of light elsewhere on the floor. Griffin, suddenly in a sort of playful high alert, immediately went after it. She stomped the light with one of her talons, and Toby moved it away again as soon as she 'caught' it, all the while grinning to himself.
He could have continued doing this for hours, and might have too, if it weren't for the fact that Griffin soon started to tire out. She sure looked like she was a bundle of energy that just kept on giving, but Toby knew she was still a baby, and babies had a tendency to go from high energy to crashing right out.
"C'mere, Griff," he finally said, watching as Griffin made a determined but wobbly pounce for the beam of light before breaking into a yawn. She looked up at him as though suddenly remembering he was there, and trotted back over. "Good girl. Bet you're all ready to sleep now, yeah?" She gave a single, tired (but happy, Toby thought) squawk. He smiled. "Soon, I promise."

Peace and quiet was the theme once the bottle went into the creature's mouth. Do, da, de. Brutus sure had a heart appetite which was cool. This just meant that he was a growing boy. Once again she caught herself looking down at him with nothing but love in her eyes. The meat contents in the bottle sure were getting slim. "Might wanna slow down there." Taste the food, you just might like it. AJ had no room to speak on that though. She had been known to inhale some tacos herself.
"Enjoy it." Because she really didn't feel like making another bottle anytime soon. In fact she was feeling pretty comfy with her baby griffin that was all nicely wrapped up.
AH! She had forgotten...
"So sorry Brutus. I totally forgot about your bedtime story." Actually it wasn't a bedtime story since it was still fairly early. It was the same concept though.
"Once upon a time there was a baby unicorn named Harley." Oh, yeah. This was going to be good. "Harley loved to go down to the meadow and look at her beautiful face in the water's reflection." All of a sudden the bottle was at her feet and Brutus was squawking.
What just happened? Did he not like the story? "Anyways... Harley was---" SQUAWK! Rude. Fine. AJ wouldn't tell him the best story EVER. See if she cared.
Toby picked it up and ran it through his fingers for a moment, feeling how brilliantly soft it was. Griffin, however, seemed to know what was coming and want no part in it. Almost instantly she tried to flop her way back off of him and start a game of hide and seek or something, but Toby had good reflexes. He had hold of her with one hand before she even set one talon on the floor, and draped the blanket over her with the other hand.
While Griffin squirmed, Toby wrapped the blanket around her, and all too soon she was all nice and cozy in a neat little blanket burrito. She tried to fight it, but Toby could see just how tired the creature was, and gently rocked from side to side to soothe her.
"It's okay, Griffin. I'll stay here with you until you fall asleep. And then, tomorrow, soon after you wake up, I'll be back again, won't I?" He nodded to emphasise his words and everything. "Anyway, first I got some food for you. You'll like that, I know you will."
Still she wriggled, but that was just a part of Griffin's personality, so Toby didn't take it personally. He took the bottle that he'd set aside and stood it right in front of him.
"Incendio," the seventh year said, pointing his wand inside of it and making quick work of melting down the meat. It looked... incredibly unappetising to his delicate human tendencies, but he knew how much Griffin loved it. "Aguamenti." Setting his wand down, Toby picked up the bottle and shook it all up as he looked at his baby griffin.
"Mmmm... melty meat water. I hope you're hungry!"
SQUAWK!
"I thought so."

Grabbing a clean towel Lux settled herself on the ground by the bucket of warm water. "You will be clean in no time," she told Georgina with a smile.
Dipping the towel in the water, she rung it out so that it was damp and a little sudsy. Humming, she began to clean the baby Griffin. Working around the beak she made sure to get all the bits left over from the bottle-feeding. "Isn't this wonderful?" Georgina seemed too sleepy to even offer up squawks, but that was okay: she appeared to be really content. The little baby Griffin closed her eyes, but Lux didn't think she was ready for sleep yet; bath time was just so calming.
Face cleaned, Lux once again dipped the towel in the sudsy water and rung it out. A thorough cleaning from top to bottom followed, though her face had definitely been the dirtiest part. The whole time she continued to hum her song. Music was nice and babies loved it, so she was sure that Georgina was enjoying it as much as any human baby would. "Almost done! Then I will give you a nice brushing so that you look as precious as ever!" Of course that would be after drying her off; otherwise she would be cold and wet!
After a few more minutes, Georgina was squeaky clean. "There, that was nice wasn't it?" As if in reply, the Griffin opened one eye and glanced at her. Lux giggled. "I had a feeling that you were still awake." Sometimes it was just nice to close your eyes when you were tired. That happened to her sometimes after she had eaten a really nice and filling meal.

No more stories for Brutus. He didn't appreciate them nor did he deserve them. He was really missing out because she had a pretty twist on the story about a train. AJ passed it off as him still being too young. He obviously just didn't know a good story when he heard one.
Now then. The fourth year picked up the bottle and once again put it to the griffin's mouth. You don't have to worry... I won't be telling you any more stories. You can enjoy your bottle in peace." He could finish his food. AJ would feel really bad if she was the reason why he went around with hunger pains.
Brutus was happily sucking away at the remnants of his bottle. Not much left. She really hoped there was enough in that bottle to satisfy him. Once he sucked the last little bit, she took the empty bottle from him. "Bath?" Did griffins even like baths? Either way he needed one. AJ wasn't going to watch after any stinky griffins.

There were warming spells that she could use, but Lux didn't trust them with a baby Griffin. What if Georgina got too hot? That wouldn't be good at all. Instead, she grabbed another clean towel. Carefully she used it to pat Georgina down. It certainly had her awake again.
SQUAWK!! SQUAWK!! SQUUUUAAAAAAWK!!"
At least she didn't seem annoyed - if anything she seemed to enjoy the gentle rub down. "I bet that feels wonderful. Being clean is lovely." Struggling slightly with a now wide awake Griffin, she vanished the water from the bucket then gave it a good cleaning before returning it to where it belonged. The towels were also cleaned and dried as Georgina tried to get away. "Georgina, please. I still need to brush your feathers." At least she wasn't covered in them from head to toe because Lux didn't think she could deal a struggling baby Griffin for that long.
Holding Georgina against her chest gently but firmly, Lux selected a clean brush to use. Slowly she began brushing out the feathers so that they lay flat and looked pristine. "This isn't so bad, is it?" Georgina let out another SQUAWK as if in reply.

Caring for the griffins was cool and all, but Caleb was secretly pretty sure that Thompson just didn't want to do all this stuff himself. So he was making them do it as homework. How come everything always involved CLEANING the pets? Creatures didn't get THAT dirty THAT fast did they? Oh well.
Caleb had decided to name his griffin Sven. Because why not? Smiling as he approached Sven's cage, he reached the creature and greeted it with a grin. "Mornin' Sven!" he said happily as he went to the cage. The griffin was still half asleep it seemed, and he simply lifted his head in acknowledgement before putting it back down.
The first thing Caleb noticed was that Sven was all out of water. That wouldn't do at all, would it! Whistling happily, he pulled out his wand and pointed at the empty bowl. "Aguamenti!" he exclaimed, watching as the bowl filled rapidly with water. Sven started to get up and wandered over to watch, dipping his beak in the bowl and lapping up some water after it was all full. As he drank, Caleb scratched his back, which caused his little lion tail to start wagging. Huh. Caleb didn't know their tails wagged...or maybe it was just a SVEN thing...

Kate was still trying to get back into the hang of things since coming back to school after missing the first half of the school year. The Care of Magical Creatures homework was actually the first homework she was going to attempt this school year. Well, if you count the homework her mom made her do during homeschooling, that is. Kate entered the creatures housing area and looked around for the griffin she'd been assigned to work with.
Oh, there it was! "Hey there, ...!" Kate greeted. Had she named the griffin? She couldn't even remember. "...uhh...Chad!" Chad was a good name. Was this thing even a male? Kate pulled up a bucket, turned it upside down, and sat by Chad. "It's me, Kate. I had some spare time, so I wanted to come visit you." Hmm... What did you talk to a griffin about? "Are you staying warm? Do you need anymore raw meat?" She had no idea if the creature could communicate this way, but maybe...just maybe...it could at least sense somebody was here to keep it company.
Hearing a voice nearby, Kate turned to see Caleb. "Hey, Caleb," she said with a smile. What was it about Caleb, hmm? Kate literally ran into him around every corner. Well, no, not literally, but their paths met quite often. Seeing Caleb scratch his griffin's back, Kate began scratching Chad's back. "Do you like that, boy?" she asked.

Someone was talking to him...oh, it was that Kate girl again. Was she stalking him or something? She was suddenly EVERYWHERE. Still, it wasn't the worst thing in the world to have her as a stalker, it could be worse, so he smiled at her and gave her a little wave of acknowledgement.
Now time to get this little guy some dinner...Caleb knew that griffins ate raw meat, and the easiest way to get ahold of that was through the kitchens. He'd been down there looking for Beans anyways...Caleb had the sudden urge to update Kate on the Beans situation but decided against it, because he had work to do. Sven needed to eat!
Taking out the raw pork from his bag, which was in a plastic bag to keep away GERMS and all that, he took the empty food bowl and emptied the contents of the bag into the bowl. Sven perked up immediately. The little griffin pushed past him a bit, making a beeline for the bowl. Caleb chuckled. "Hungry, huh? I couldn't tell," he said with a smile.
About three seconds later, the bowl was licked clean.

Caleb didn't seem like he wanted to talked. Sure, he smiled and waved, but he said nothing before getting back to taking care of his animal. That kind of wounded Kate a little, but she decided not to think about it too much. After all, they were both here for a certain reason, and that reason was to care for their griffin. Seeing him begin feeding his griffin, Kate decided to do the same. First, though, she should clean the griffin and wrap him in a warm blanket. She thought he'd like his meal better if he was clean and warm. Never mind the fact that he was about to eat a messy meal of raw meat.
"So did you ever find your rat?" she asked Caleb, opening her mouth to speak before she remembered he hadn't seemed like he wanted to talk. As she waited for an answer to her question, Kate grabbed a nearby blanket that had been hanging up near Chad's cage. She guessed the professor put it there or something. "Oh right--cleaning first," she told Chad. She re-hung the blanket then grabbed a bottle of shampoo and a cleaning brush. "Aguamenti!" she said, wetting the griffin. She then lathered the soap onto its body and began giving it a bath.
When she was done, she rinsed off its body and returned the shampoo and brush. "You clean up good," she told it.

"No, not yet," Caleb told her with a sigh. It was starting to look grim for poor Beans...he hadn't seen him in forever. He either ran away, or had gotten himself in some trouble. He was trying not to think about that last outcome...despite the fact that it was probably the more likely one.
Now that Sven was all fed, maybe he could get him cleaned up? He decided to start with a brushing. He knew he would have to do something funky with the feathers, but he could brush the back part of Sven. The lion part.
He picked up a brush from the grooming supplies and beckoned for Sven to come over. After his dinner of raw pork, he seemed to be pretty trusting of Caleb now. He came over and sat down, resting his head on his lap. Perfect! Caleb gave the brush a few runs over the top of his head before moving to his back and brushing the pretty golden lion fur. A good bunch of it came off in clumps, meaning that he was shedding - was he shedding his winter coat or something? Or maybe the poor little thing hadn't been brushed in forever! After a few minutes, the shedding stopped, so he guessed it was the latter.
"Good boy Sven, do you like that? I wish someone would brush MY hair and do everything for me," he mumbled. Silly griffin had it made and he had no idea, did he?

Once Georgina's feathers were looking perfect, Lux cleaned the brush and put it back where it belonged. "Okay, who wants to hear a bedtime story?" Even though it wasn't late, she figured that it would be good for her baby Griffin to have a nap soon. Babies needed lots of sleep, and sometimes all it took to become tired was a book. That was her method of falling asleep sometimes!
Reaching into her bag while still keeping a good hold on a struggling Georgina, Lux pulled out a book. It was Disney's The Little Mermaid. She had owned it for ages, and in fact owned a lot of the Little Golden Books.
Sitting herself on the floor in a cross-legged position, Lux got Georgina settled in a comfortable position while ensuring that she couldn't run off and get all dirty. That would not be very good right after her bath. "I think you will like this story!" Happily she began to read, her narrative occasionally punctuated with [size=4]SQUAWKS[/b]. Soon they died down, and yep...Georgina was fast asleep. "I guess that is enough story time for now," she whispered so as not to wake her.
Lux gently placed the baby Griffin where she could have a nice sleep. "Goodnight, Georgina." Smiling, she left. She would be seeing her again soon.
Toby continued to shake up the bottle, ready mixing up the meat and the water as well as he could. He was careful not to do it for too long, seeing as how Thompson had said about how when baby griffins were fed by their mothers, the meat was always still warm 'cause she heated it up, and obviously it needed to be the same now. Well, the equivalent to that. Toby wasn't going to regurgitate any meat; that wouldn't even heat it up for her.
Griffin was definitely ready for food. As soon as Toby lowered the bottle and held it to her beak she went ahead and clamped right on to it, eagerly drinking down the meat mixture. Toby smiled and watched her; she was a lot less fidgety already, probably worn out from playing and directing all her energy into gettin' dem foodz.
"Slow down a bit, Griff. I'm pretty sure you'll make yourself sick if you eat-... uh... drink it so quickly," said soothingly, stroking the feathers on her head as she drank. "Pace yourself." But... she reminded Toby of himself when it came to food, too. Hyperactive in life and then scarfing down food AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE.
Still, it was basically impossible to stop her from drinking too quickly, unless he took the bottle away and OBVIOUSLY he wasn't going to do that. So Toby just continued rocking the baby griffin as he fed her, hoping that her tiredness would take over anyway.
After a short while, the bottle was empty, and so Toby took it away again. Despite how tired she'd been, the creature still wasn't asleep yet. Toby wasn't surprised.

Well, he didn't squawk or bite her so who knew if he was in agreement with her or not. Really if anything him being quiet was a good sign. AJ was 80% sure that he did want this bath. Erm... should she lay him down on the ground all snugged up in his blanket? No. That was what bad mommies do. She should probably take him with her. Yeah, that sounded like a better idea.
Carrying around her Brutus burrito, she walked over and snagged her a bucket. AJ moved way away from all of the other creatures because she had a feeling this could get messy and fast. "Aguamenti!" She let her wand do all of the water filling up work as she kept an eye on it. Didn't want it filled all the way to the top. "Finite."
Hmm... couldn't let the little griffie freeze. "Incendio!." Just a tad bit. She only wanted the water to be warm. A quick finite had ended that spell almost as soon as it had started.
"Ready?" Getting him out of the blanket was a task all on its on. She very gently put Brutus into the bucket.
SQUAWK! SQUAWK! SQUAWK! Goodness... what now? Could she get a griffin that wasn't quite the diva?
Ugh, Griffin was adorable. Toby loved her. He wondered what it would take to be able to, like, properly adopt her and take her home and everything. She could live in his room. Toby was pretty sure he wouldn't be allowed to take her, but maybe he could SNEAK her out. That would probably last about... five minutes, before he was caught.
Worth it, though.
But he needed to stop thinking about Grand Theft Griffin, and focus on the task at hand; trying to get the baby griffin to sleep. It wouldn't take long, Toby was sure. But he was sort of wary as it meant that once she was asleep, he'd have to leave her here 'til he came back later. And Toby didn't want to do that. He already missed all his pets AND two whole family members 100% of the time, so...
... soooooooooooo, he was just gonna... lay down and take a nap with Griffin. He had no more classes for the day, after all, and it was still early afternoon. Toby was just... doing his homework.
And so it was that he scooted around a little to that eventually he was lying down on the stable floor, curled up a bit to make a space for Griffin and keep her warm, one arm curled protectively around the bundle of blankets.
"It's time to sleep now, Griffin," he said to the creature, who indeed looked like she was about to slip into griffin!dreamland. "I'll stay here for a while, yeah? I'll talk to you 'til you sleep. How's that sound?"
Griffin didn't respond, not even with a squawk or anything, just snuggled down in her blanket. She was actually probably already going to go to sleep, but Toby still spoke to her about nothing in particular. Random little stories about recent Hogwarts things, stuff about home, even a little made up story about a baby Griffin. And then, eventually, when she was fast asleep, he allowed himself to snooze too, right there on the floor of the stables. Protecting Griffin, cuddling, keeping her company, all that. Later, when he woke, he'd go back to the castle, show his face so people knew he'd not fallen off the face of the earth. But now was time for a nap with Griffin.

Look how clean and handsome his baby griffin was now after he had bathed it. Hehehehe.
Jackson couldn't keep but chuckled when Chingu tried not nibble his fingers while he warmed it up with towel. "Are you already hungry, Chingu?" He asked. Of course the baby griffin wouldn't answer because it couldn't talk, Duh... What if the griffin could talk by the way? Maybe it would say 'thank you for your care, Jackson. Okay, that's impossible.
"Accio, blanket." He summoned the blanket and wrapped the baby griffin up with it. Wasn't it nice? Having a nice bath and then being warmed with a nice fluffy blanket? Hope that Chingu wouldn't fall asleep soon. He hadn't fed him. "I'm gonna get your dinner, okay?" Then he left his baby griffin and grabbing his bottle that had been filled by the liquid meat. Ewww...

He was just a baby, AJ. He could be squawking for any number of things. He needed a baby whether or not Brutus agreed with her... well, that was a totally different issue. Mama knows best. Oh no. She sounded like her mother there for a second. What was the world coming to? Noooo. AJ shook her head rather dramatically. Hopefully the force alone would be enough to erase those images. Her mom really wasn't bad, but what teenage girl wanted to sound like their moms? Now if it were her dad...
Okay. What supplies did she need for a griffin bath? None, right? It was half bird and they just kind of swished around in some water and were good. Hmmm... she was not going to overthink this.
AJ scooped some water into her hands and poured it all over the griffin's body. She made extra sure not to get any into his eyes. It was only water so it shouldn't hurt, but she had gotten a drama llama over here. AJ kind of scrubbed at his feathers with her nails and did a couple of more scoops of water over the griffin just in case. There. Once sparkling clean baby.
"Now I think it's time for a nap." Babies needed loads of sleep, yes? She helped the griffin out of the bucket and let him fluff and puff a bit until he was all dry. It wasn't like she had anything else to do at the moment.
Once he was all set, she wrapped him up in a blanket and held him close. Normally this would be the part where she would sing him a lullaby or try out another story, but nope. Brutus was undeserving. Instead she was silent and rocked slightly until his little griffin eyes closed.
As gently as she could, she placed him back in his little area. "Sleep tight, Brutus."

Jackson was gonna feed his baby griffin with the meal that he had prepared before. But it seemed like the meal was already cold because he left it for a while. Well, was this still good to be eaten by Chingu? Perhaps so. He had just left it for a while, not days. So it wouldn't rot yet, right? Okay, he decided to give this to Chingu because he seemed already hungry.
But first, the Korean boy warmed the bottle up first with a small fire. "Incendio." He made a teardrop-like movement with his wand to conjure a small fire. Then he put the baby bottle into a fire. Not for a long time of course because it would burn his hands since he didn't wear protecting gloves. After he thought that the meal was already warm enough, he went back to his baby griffin. "Chingu, your meal is ready!" He said cheerfully. "Here, I know you're already hungry." Then he started feeding his baby griffin. Slurp slurp slurp... Chingu really had a good appetite, huh? And now he's hungry too. Maybe he should grab something to eat after this.

Alright, the back of Sven was all brushed - now to clean the feathers. Really, though, they didn't look all that bad. Hmm, maybe he didn't even really need to be groomed. After all, living in this little pen here, how much trouble could the baby griffin possibly have gotten in to?
So instead he decided to play with him! That would be fun! He had brought one of Baldwin's old rope toys with him (Baldwin could care less about the rope toys, he only wanted squeaky toys) and showed it to the griffin. "Hey Sven! Look at this! Wanna play? Wanna play with the rope?" he said, standing up and waving it over his head. The griffin looked at it for a few minutes and then started to jump, trying to grab at it. Caleb was much taller though, and waved it higher above his head. Sven let out a little yelp of excitement and tried to jump to get it, and then Caleb tossed it across the pen.
Sven went darting after it, pouncing on it in excitement before taking it and waving it around in his mouth like a lunatic. Sven was turning out to be almost EXACTLY like a dog...which Caleb was TOTALLY ok with.

Whelp, If she was going to feed Jean she would need to get a bottle. She lazily flicked her wand and summoned a bottle. She didn't want to lose Miss Jean among the other griffins. Even though Jean was wrapped snugly in her blanket. The griffin wasn't going anywhere unless she broke out of her blanket burrito. She cleaned the bottle first "Scourgify!"
Then she summoned the raw meat as well. Because she was still being lazy, and this way was easier. Jean looked way too happy in her lap to move the little griffin. Placing the meat in bottle, the sixth year took her wand "Incendio" She waited until the meat was heated up enough, so she could add the water to the bottle. "Aguamenti." Filling the bottle not completely. She screwed the lid of the bottle and shook it up.
"Here you go, Jean." Pulling the griffin closer to her so she could feed her. Moving the bottle to her beak. The griffin was plain out refusing the food. What? But it was FOOD little one. Food was yummy. She tried to feed Jean a few more times before trying another method to getting the griffin to eat. Sighing because this was a last resort. Acting like she was going to eat the contents of the bottle, putting in up to her mouth but not to close.
Squawk Squawk.
Someone was protesting this huh? hehe
"So, you want it, now?" Trying again, she put the bottle out for Jean to eat. Which she did now. She feed the griffin.

It was funny that Dot wasn't much good at Herbology but was delighted by Care of Magical Creatures. It helped that the creatures they dealt with were interesting and CUTE little baby griffins. In particular, Dot's baby griffin, who she called Lorenzo. On account of the fact that he was a handsome little gentleman.
And there was the little gentleman himself! "Enzo, my little darling." Dot let the griffin nip at her fingers, even though it hurt just a bit, and then she dropped into the stall to give him a cuddle. Those talons were killer, but he was sort and warm and sweet, and Dot put up with the inconvenience of being scratched. "Let me get your stall cleaned up a bit, and then we'll have ourselves a little party." It was awfully nasty in there, and Dot was happy to banish the dirty straw and put out some new.
