This Charms Lesson finds you back in the safe comfort of classroom 2E. Needless to say the hour is as early as it usually is and the crisp spring air pouring into the room should provide some form of waker upper. If not, the Professor will have something special in mind.
Like always, the windows are opened wide, letting in the bright rays of the morning, making the room seem possibly brighter than it actually is.
The Professor stands leaned against his desk, munching on an apple with his gaze toward the window. This lesson....was going to be interesting to say the least and that was largely due to all the unknown variables that were likely to present themselves.
For now the room is silent, the board is empty and waiting for the days small notes. His wand is placed beside him. To all who walk in, he might seem perfectly relaxed--though really he was exhausted and needed to stop planning lessons overnight. Maybe...just maybe then they wouldn't have so many unknown variables. Some food for thought right there. The man would have to seriously consider it.
So come right in, have a seat, the lesson will begin shortly!
OOC: The lesson hasn't officially begun yet, feel free to RP your students' arrivals and all that fancy stuff. Do remember the rules as you post. I should move this class when I get home from work tomorrow.
Janelle was quite happy now that she was unstuck and free to move around at will. Just as she was properly enjoying her freedom, the professor explained what they would be doing next. Now this was a different story entirely. This time they got to stick themselves on purpose. Jumping onto the wall sounded like a lot of fun. Of course they kind of had to put their trust in their partner, but if she got a good one, it would be OK.
Looking around the room, Janelle tried to find a suitable partner. Someone older would be nice because they had the most potential to be competent in their spellwork. The problem was, the older students would probably not want to work with the younger ones for the opposite reason. Well it wouldn't hurt to ask. If they said no, Janelle would just try again.
So who didn't have a partner so far? Janelle began to smile as she saw someone to her liking. She walked up to her housemate and made her pitch. "Hi Eden. Are you looking for a partner? 'Cause I'm available if you are. That is if you don't mind working with a second year." Janelle waited to see if her first choice would work with her or if she would have to keep looking for a partner.
Eden smiled over at Janelle. "Nah, I don't mind!" she said. "We can...go ahead and start?" she glanced over at the wall where people had started flinging themselves already...
It looked like major fun.
Before Janelle could even reply, Eden was getting a running start for the trampoline; she jumped up and--SMACK.
She CRASHED into the wall and was....stuck. Giggling, despite the slight pain, she flailed her arms around. "OH NO, JANELLE, I'M STUCK, I'M STUCK HAAAAAALP ME!" she faked fear. Lulz.
Uh-huh. Yeah. This position was not really conducive to, uhh... well. To anything. He was well and truly STUCK on this wall, just like the time he'd been stuck to the ceiling, only Toby remembered that time as being a lot less... painful. Ahem.
Not that Toby was really in a lot of PAIN. It was just awkward, really. He'd not been prepared. He'd wanted to run and jump and LEAP IN A BLAZE OF GLORY, but had ended up like a fly on some sticky paper. That was a sad thought. Poor fly. Toby made the decision right there and then that if he ever saw any sticky fly paper in the future, he'd set it on fire.
BUT OH. They were getting started. Toby went to brace himself to be unstuck from the wall, but very quickly realised there was nothing he COULD do to brace himself. Other than mentally. Like... was he emotionally prepared to part ways with the wall? Could he handle being ripped away like that? Would it affect his abandonment iss-WOAH.
"Eep!"
Toby gave a little squeak, because while he was contemplating all those important things, Maggie had gone ahead and cast the spell to unstick him, and Toby!fly was falling down down down down...
He hit the deck, but of course the floor was all trampoline-y, so it didn't hurt at all. Toby lowkey bounced there for a moment, then got to his feet and grinned at Magdalena. "Nice work, Maggie. Good job!" Griiiiiin. "Your turn then, yeah? Bet you can do a better job of getting up there than I did."
And while he was falling down down down down Maggie luckily had the presence of mind to step OUT of the way of his falling down down down down. Because otherwise he would've landed right on top of her. Which would've probably been even more uncomfortable than being stuck to a wall.
Toby's bouncing looked kind of funny so Maggie actually genuinely smiled at him for a moment. Especially when he complimented her spellwork. She WAS awesome, huh? Good thing he had her as his partner. "You better get me down from there just as fast." She said with a wink before stepping onto the bouncy part of the floor. Now...how to best do this??
Like...she didn't want to land face first on the wall. But also not sideways like Toby had because that had looked just as uncomfortable. She also didn't want to jump TOO high because of her skirt issue. Actually maybe she should use the sticking charm on THAT. Eh. No time. Also probably not such a brilliant idea. It would look mighty weird. So, jumping backwards it was.
Because that was the only logical solution, right?
Turning around so that her back was facing the wall, Maggie hesitated for a second before she started to bounce. Bounce bounce bounce. Eventually she jumped and leaned backwards a little so that she bounced towards the wall. Aaaaaand she was stuck. With her entire back. It had been the perfect jump.
OH MY GOODNESS, this sounded like fun! Kate loved Hogwarts. Save for the piles of homework she always had, the classes were awesome. When else would she get to jump against a wall and stick herself there like a spi--... Never mind. That was a forbidden word in her vocabulary now. Yeah. Ever since she had a rainfall of them fall on her head, she could do without saying that word for the rest of her life.
Looking around for a partner, Kate heard Angel asking around for someone to work with. "I'll work with you," she said. "Can I be the one to stick myself against the wall?" Maybe the professor would let them take turns, and Angel could stick herself against the wall later on, too!
Angel looked around as Kate spoke. "That's great!" Truthfully Angel had hoped that no one would ask her because she didn't like the idea of getting stuck on a wall especially with everything that had been happening at the school lately.
Angel looked down at her feet and then she beamed, she didn't have to get stuck to the wall well not yet anyway, Kate wanted to do that. "Yeah awesome, if your sure you want to be stuck to the wall." Angel was very relieved now.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

But when he was about to talk more about himself, Penelope ran away.

It was sort of weird to be stuck to the wall. "No, it didn't really hurt. The wall actually feels really soft." Being stuck to the wall wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. "It feels better than I expected. It doesn't hurt like I thought it would."
What did he say? Avaxis? Had he forgotten how to pronounce the incantation? Oh there, he remembered. This time the charm worked and Penelope unstuck from the wall.She dropped to the floor, which was also surprisingly cushiony. Getting up, she looked at Yoongi. "Ready to get stuck to the wall?"

Remembering everything that she had practiced, Janelle pointed her wand between Eden and the wall and said, "Avexis" She was almost afraid to see the outcome of her spell. She had gotten it right before , finally and just hoped she'd gotten it right on the first try this time.

Well... yeah, Toby hoped so too. And he also hoped that there would be no more fire incidents during this lesson, although now he knew he COULD do the spell, he was a lot more likely to get it right first try. The Hufflepuff was confident.
He wished he had some scorecards, so he could have held up a number '10' or something, 'cause it seemed like a fun thing to do. Maybe Toby could have conjured up such a thing, but really he was too busy bouncing away on the floor and making sure he didn't end up accidentally stuck to the wall again, because then they'd both be in a bit of a...
... in a bit of a sticky situation.
Toby could have cracked up at his own joke right there and then, because it really was that funny, but he just settled for a grin at Maggie and gradually let his bouncing slow to a stop. "Good form! Alright, here we go..."
He raised his wand and, imagining in vivid detail the way he'd manage to unstick himself from his chair earlier, and remembering he COULD definitely do it, Toby cast the spell. "Avexis!"Point.
Calm and in control. And still bouncing maybe a little teeny-weeny tiny bit.

Janelle's face fell when Eden did not become unstuck from the wall. She had so hoped to get the spell right on the first try. Eden had agreed to be her partner and Janelle did not want to let her down by failing at the spell. Fortunately, Eden didn't look too upset about the fact that she was still hanging on the wall. "I'm so sorry. I thought I did it right. Hang on. I'll try again."
Janelle was disappoointed, but determined. She was going to get Eden off of that wall. Before, the spell had worked the second time and now it was going to work, or else. Janelle readied her wand and this time she concentrated as hard as she could. Gonna do it. Gonna do it. Carefully she said the incantation, making sure to pronounce it correctly. "Avexis" Janelle made sure that her wand was pointing in the proper spot. "Please, please, please work", she thought to herself.

Was that disappointment on the girlfriend's face still from not being able to jump first? Adi was amused. "I showed you how it's done right,'' he said, teasing her right back with his cheek still pressed up against the wall. He probably sounded weird. LOL.
Pffft. "As if. Don't you know I can beat you at ANYTHING sporty?" HEHEHE! The Hufflepuff was enjoying himself with this combination of the fun activity and working with AJ. "And don't worry. It's okay if you take forever to get me down. I am very patient.'' He was teasing her again to give her the motivation.
But he wasn't lying when he said he was patient. He had nothing else to do but hang around... literally. So Adi waited while AJ pointed her wand at him and said the incantation. Goody! She said the incantation right. Goooooo, AJ! He was her biggest fan, okay?
Annnnd then he was feeling is cheek, hands and himself in general unsticking from the wall and he was falling...falling... falling... "WOOOAH!" Of course he did not hurt himself thanks to the trampoline thingamajig. Adi practically sprang to his feet after he landed on his butt. "That was fun! Great job, AJ!'' Yay for the girlfriend! How about a high five, too?
"Ummm... something like that." Yeah, he really did a good job, and now AJ was hoping that she would do even better. She was her boyfriend's biggest cheerleader... or um, supporter? That sounded better because no way would she be an actual cheerleader. Gross.
Tsk, tsk, tsk. He really was in denial. AJ was a freaking PRO. A pro. Not just in the girl league, but in life. She could kick a boy's butt anytime too. Adi was good, but she had proved that she would beat him. In reality they were pretty tied. He could beat her just as often. Not to mention that she had found out he let her win sometimes. That was... something. She knew he was just trying to help her out, but it really was a shot to her ego.
Oh no. He would NOT being taking forever to get down. "Sorry to tell you that you will be failing on your butt any minute now."
In three, two, one...
YESSSS! She had done it. "Thanks." And a high five for him. "My turn now." Move out of her way. AJ was coming through. Taking off like she was running a race for the olympics, she hit the trampoline. BOUNCY. Jump and she was airborne. Man, she was really high.
Smack! She had hit the wall, and she was stuck. Looking down proved that she had made it really high. Had she made it higher than Adi's jump? It was hard to tell, but it looked really close.

Not bad? Puh-lease. Awesome was more like it. She was sure that was what Adi meant but the sort of relationship they had was one that they poked fun of each other. And this lion wouldn't have it any other way. "I'm pretty sure you didn't beat me by the way." Perhaps he needed a different pair of glasses.
Did he do the spell? AJ was still as stuck as ever. She didn't actually hear him say anything, but he could be showing off with that non verbal mess. She waited a few minutes just to be sure. Nope. She was still stuck.
"Erm. Are you forgetting something or did I just take your breath away with my awesome wall sticking skills?" AJ could believe that was the problem since she totally jumped higher. Okay, she didn't actually know that for sure, but it sounded good.
Dot was still grumpy at the Charms man, although she'd been won over a bit by sheer cuteness from Marsha the baby ginger. She also wasn't totally keen on throwing herself at a wall. Was it cushioned? Was it CLEAN? What if she threw herself at the wall and got cobwebs in her mouth? OR A SPIDER?
Gross. Okay? Super gross.
But she also didn't want to sulk so long that she didn't end up with a partner. Like... PEOPLE ALREADY HAD PARTNERS. Uuuuuhhhhh. Dot bounced up and down by her seat, head going back and forth like there was a Quidditch match on, until she finally decided to just GO for it. GO.
"SOPHIE DAISY BROWN. CATCH ME!" Or not really. Dot threw herself forward, bouncing off the bouncybouncy floor and landing hard against the wall opposite her. But a few feet in the air, at least. "SOPHIE DAISY BROWN. UNSTICK ME. SAVE ME. I AM YOUR PARTNER FOR LIFE."
Sophie Brown wasn't too concerned about finding a partner. Worst case scenario was she'd get stuck with someone incapable of unsticking her, which would just mean she'd get to hang up there on that cool wall for awhile and take a load off. EVENTUALLY someone would teach her partner how to do it successfully or Quiggles would decide Soph had to be left up there all day, so either way, there was a lot of fun in store. Lots of laughs. All the good times to be had.
When her name was shouted and she had been claimed as a partner, the Ravenclaw didn't even have to look to see who it was - she knew, based upon the way Dot was the only person who ever threw "daisy" into her name. Soph just smiled and turned to see Dot, who was already jumping at the wall and successfully getting herself stuck, completely fearlessly. "I will, I will! Though you do look awfully happy with yourself up there. Maybe I'll just let you hang there for awhile," she teased, but the next moment she was pointing her wand up at Dot and wordlessly attempted to cast, Avexis! She hadn't successfully cast a non-verbal charm in her life just yet, but she was at least making an effort and there was a first time for everything, okay? It was more fun to make Dot think she WASN'T going to let her down and then have Dot get unstuck with a silent charm than just getting her down the easy way.
Nah, Dot had a good sense of humor, so even if she'd been unsuccessful, she was certain the girl wouldn't break up with her or anything. They had a SPECIAL BOND. They were practically besties.

Wait... she was just gonna leave Dot STUCK up here? Dot wiggled her feet and fingers and turned her head slightly, but she was just really solidly STUCK right here. On the wall. Terribly silly thing to happen to a Slytherin. What did she think she was... a Gryffindor?
"I'm not happy, though. I'm unhappy. Terribly. Sad, even. Heartbroken. And Sophie Daisy Brown, can you unstick my hair first, please, so I don't fall off the wall with my hair still stuck? I think that might hurt me. And then I'll be sad and heartbroken both." She wiggled juuuuust slightly so she could give Sophie that big blue-eyed stare of hers. With only one eye, but yeah.
"Point your wand and Avexis me!" You can do it, Daisy.
Janelle's face fell when Eden did not become unstuck from the wall. She had so hoped to get the spell right on the first try. Eden had agreed to be her partner and Janelle did not want to let her down by failing at the spell. Fortunately, Eden didn't look too upset about the fact that she was still hanging on the wall. "I'm so sorry. I thought I did it right. Hang on. I'll try again."
Janelle was disappoointed, but determined. She was going to get Eden off of that wall. Before, the spell had worked the second time and now it was going to work, or else. Janelle readied her wand and this time she concentrated as hard as she could. Gonna do it. Gonna do it. Carefully she said the incantation, making sure to pronounce it correctly. "Avexis" Janelle made sure that her wand was pointing in the proper spot. "Please, please, please work", she thought to herself.
Eden wasn't mad at all. It was kind of relaxing. "When you get stuck to the wall, you should try to get stuck back first so you can still see everything." She said with a nod. It was a decent recommendation.
But when Janelle shot the second spell at her, Eden suddenly hopped down and GRINNED at her. "GREAT JOB! HIGH FIVE!" she raised her hand up to slap Janelle's hand. AYAYAY. She had gotten it! So cool. But now...it was Janelle's turn.
"Are you ready, eh? I hope I get it right the first time...but I had a little trouble before when I was stuck to my chair." She thought she should at least warn the girl in case her spell was shoddy.

Ummm... was that supposed to be a joke because she was pretty sure she had warned him. Either way it was good to always be prepared because life didn't always go as planned. At least that was what her mom always said. "Or you could just pay attention," she teased.
Not bad? Puh-lease. Awesome was more like it. She was sure that was what Adi meant but the sort of relationship they had was one that they poked fun of each other. And this lion wouldn't have it any other way. "I'm pretty sure you didn't beat me by the way." Perhaps he needed a different pair of glasses.
Did he do the spell? AJ was still as stuck as ever. She didn't actually hear him say anything, but he could be showing off with that non verbal mess. She waited a few minutes just to be sure. Nope. She was still stuck.

Well, she couldn't have REALLY expected it to work for the first time ever, but it would've been mega cool if it had. Still, she had plenty of time to work on being impressive with non-verbal spells in her future. Dakest hadn't even tried teaching them yet, so... it wasn't a real necessity. But that wasn't going to keep her from trying it every now and then, okay?
Dot DID sound awfully unhappy, though, and Sophie Brown was GENUINELY FEELING BAD at the Slytherin's adorable whining. It was TUGGING AT HER HEARTSTRINGS and made her feel like a bully, even though she'd just been goofing around. The stare was a little freaky, too, but Soph put on a smile in return. ALL WAS GOING TO BE OKAY, DOTTIE. "'kay, that's good enough for me. Avexis!" she cast first at Dot's hair - because that's what the girl wanted - then repeated with her wand pointed at the girl's figure, "Avexis!"
Was she free now? Would she bounce back down on the thing and be happy as could be? Would Soph get Dot hugs for freeing her from the wall holding her captive? BESTIE PARTNER HUGS.

Janelle didn't realize that she was holding her breath, but she gave a big exhale when Eden was released from the wall. Reaching up, her hand met Eden's for a congratulatory high five. "Whooo hooo! I did it." Janelle really appreciated her partner's patience. She was sooo glad that Eden hadn't been mad at her.
Now it was Janelle's turn and she was psyched. "Yes, I am so very ready" She decided to take Eden's suggestion and stick her back to the wall. She would have to call on her gymnastics training to make it happen, but at least that way she could see what was going on.
Janelle was ready, but before she made her leap, she had something to say to Eden. "Don't worry about it. I know you'll get the spell right." She wasn't worried. It was all in good fun.
Taking a run toward the mini-tramp, Janelle jumped up and landed squarely on it. As she rose from the bouncy surface, she did a half turn and flung herself backward. Clearly she hadn't quite thought this through. She stuck to the wall without a problem, but her head it the wall a little harder than she meant it too. After shaking it off, Janelle said, "Go ahead, have at it". This was really weird, but kinda cool. Janelle could look down on every one in the classroom and see what was going on. She was going to be entertained while she waited form Eden to rescue her.

It was amazing how quickly he could turn off his sulkiness. Further proof that he was just giving her a hard time. "I thought you might see it my way." More teasing because things definitely didn't always have to go her way even if sometimes she really wanted them to. Miles? AJ snorted and looked down to where her boyfriend was sitting. "Okay, not only do you need a different pair of glasses, but you need a new doctor." Because somebody was lying to that child.
"What was that?" It was hard to hear what he was saying since she was SO high up. You know, higher than Adi. "Quigley didn't do the jump for me." He had assured that she wouldn't smack into the wall and fall to the ground, but that was about it.
"Do better this time." She shot him a smile. Do, da, de. It was just her and the wall, and nothing to do but to stare at it. Then finally, she felt herself coming off. She fell back, and decided that she was going to fall on her back. PLOP. She hit the trampoline and bounced a few times before getting up.
"You and I make a great team." Regardless of what a certain cat turning professor thought. "I kinda want to do it again." But, the class was almost over, yeah?

Yayyy, Dot was free! Sophie bounced on her heels and extended her arms toward the girl, making grabby hands for her and beckoning her over for a hug. When the girl obliged, Soph SQUEEEZED the taller girl - when did THAT height difference even happen, Merlin? - and reached up to pat her head a few times. "Sorry for teasin' you. M'glad you're free from the wall's clutches. S'nicer to have you down here."
She let go of the hug, then, and pulled back to smile genuinely at Dot, then turned her attention to the wall, eyeing it suspiciously like it would bite her or something. Dot didn't think she'd be good? But... "Dot, you're super good at stuff. I bet you'll be great." Still, Sophie DID use the hairtie around her wrist to throw her hair up in a high bun, then stretched her arms and legs like she was getting ready to run a marathon or do something physically taxing.
"Ready?" she asked Dot, as if the Slytherin was the one who needed to be prepared for her running, bouncing, and flying up onto the wall. She didn't wait for a reply, though, then broke into a run, leaped onto the bouncy floor, and flew UP with great trajectory and SMACK! The impact hurt a lot less than she was anticipating it would, thank you Quiggles for the cushioning, and she wiggled where she was stuck to the wall, her limbs out in all directions. She kind of looked like a bug who had gone splat on a window.
Then... would Dot's attempts be successful at unsticking her? "M'good and stuck, just for you," she called back to her friend, a grin on her face. BUT COULD DOT GET HER DOWN? Puh-lease?

"Well, ready or not, here I go!" she exclaimed. She was just way too excited for her own good. Kate got a running start then bounced on the trampoline area just before the sticky wall. She thought about doing a flip and landing upside down, but she didn't know how long she'd end up being there.
Kate didn't flip, but she did end up sideways with her head facing more to the bottom than to the top. Okay, so now it was all up to Angel!

"We sure do!'' There was no leader between these two. They were exactly as AJ had said... a TEAM. "Yeah, me too. I hope he doesn't give us homework.'' Adi did his homework on time but it didn't mean he liked doing it.

She was mega grateful her robe helped conceal her wiggling in discomfort, but she was okay. This was fine. She could hang up here all day.
At least... it SEEMED like an okay thing to be stuck on the wall for the most part until DOT STARTED TEASING HER. Her comments about the weather and rain made Soph laugh, but when she said something about taking a nap...
Doooooooooooooooooooot.
"Come ooooon, I'm too cute to be left up here. We have more hugs to share," she tried her hand at bribing Dot into letting her down, but it turned out that she didn't even need to - the younger girl was CRACKING UP at her own antics and was already making quick work of trying to unstick Sophie from the wall.
On the third or fourth try, down Sophie Brown went, and she bounced a few times on the bouncy floor before hopping over to join Dot again, making a move to redeem another hug. "That was fun. Hogwarts should have a trampoline 'n sticky wall like this all the time, don'tcha think? It'd be a super popular hangout. We need more active kinda stuff to do around here." Pause. "D'you wanna go again? Y'can try to jump as high as I did. Maybe y'could try jumping up on your BACK so your BACK is stuck to the wall and you can SEE everyone." That'd be mega cool, wouldn't it?
