Though the class is taking place at it's usual time, bright and early 9 am, there is something very different about the location. What? Well naturally even the least awake among you would notice that instead of standing in neat rows in Classroom 2E you are all headed out by the rickety wooden bridge that leads to the rest of the grounds. The trek out here should be a good waker-upper for those that need it.
The scene is as unassuming as any other with the exception of the area getting warmer and warmer as you approach. Yes, the Professor has taken care of that pesky little weather hitch that happens at this time of the year while you're here out on the grounds. There is still a bit of fog lingering but it's expected to clear up or be removed by the time the activity rolls around. The air is crisp and has a freshness to it that you couldn't get even with the wide windows of the classroom back in the classroom flung open as they usually are.
A peaceful morning really.
As you cross the grounds and come to a stop at the bridge, you find the Professor leaning against the railing with his eyes cast down into the ditch that lies below the bridge. Might be he's looking at something. Might be you can see it to. Just might be he's bored and waiting for his students to arrive; there's really only one way to find out.
Gather around, the lesson will be beginning shortly.
OOC: Class has not yet begun, be sure to brief yourselves on the rules once more before posting. I'll be moving this class in about 12-18 hrs hopefully ^^

And now, the colour he had been looking forward to see. Not that he secretly wanted to be a Ravenclaw, but he thought seeing his own tie turn into Josie’s house colours would be an awesome thing to see. Ethan moved closer to the rail as he stared at his yellow tie, and his thoughts drifted to a certain Eagle. Now, what IF he was sorted into Ravenclaw, will he be the person that he is now? Probably yes, but, he won’t be as sociable. He’d probably be spending most of his time reading and learning as much as he can.
Exhaling, he held his tie up again, and concentrated on the particular shade of blue that Josie always wore around her neck. “Colovaria.” The yellow tie turned into the right shade of blue, and Ethan can’t help but smile. For a moment, he belonged to Josie’s house. Isn’t that great?
The Slytherin hung his tie once more around his neck and appreciated the color against his uniform. Not bad at all, really. Turning around to face the class, Ethan looked around to see if anyone needed his help. Brooklyn was doing quite well, and so his Hady. His fellow Snakes were quite on the roll that day. Grinning to himself, he picked his tie again, and changed it back to its original colour. “Colovaria.” He casted the spell non-verbally, and was not surprised that it turned into green and silver easily. Hmm. Probably it’s because he’s way too familiar with the colour of his tie, seeing that he had to wear it every single day.

This activity seemed almost too easy, at least to Clara, but then .... she was quite efficient with charms and had been practising them a lot longer than some students. It did lead her to wonder what the main activity would be, though. Did it have something to do with whatever Professor Quigley had been looking at in the ditch? What could they possibly do to make use of the colour changing charm on a bigger scale? Why were they outside?
The Ravenclaw had so many questions.
But, for now she focused on changing the colour of the tie again.
This time a scarlet red. In her mind she envisioned the tie changing colours from yellow and black to red and gold, slightly trickier - trying to change two colours at once - but she knew she could do it. "Colovaria," she said, wand pointed again at the tie. While the colours did falter momentarily, she was successful in changing them. Perfect.
Angel was totally enjoying this lesson. She looked around to see what Adi was doing, she totally wanted to know why he was totally ignoring her but she would have to find out later because now she had to change her tie a different colour and she was thinking that blue would be an amazing colour... though she could lie and pinch her sisters Abby blue tie and pretend she had done it though she had a feeling she'd get told off if she did that.
"Colovaria!" Angel pointed her wand at her now Yellow tie as she said the incantation and she smiled as the spell worked and her tie was Blue. "Professor we going to paint the bridge later?" Angel suddenly had a feeling they were doing something that had to do with colouring in something or painting something.

Now that she had successfully changed the color of her tie from green to yellow she needed to keep going. She'd done a decent job the first time and was rather sure of herself when knowing she'd have to do it yet again.
This time she wanted to give a go at making it go from yellow to blue. Blue was a nice color just not her favorite. Raising her wand once more she pointed it at her tie that was still sat upon her knee. “Colovaria," Hady recited firmly picturing the bright blue color she needed for her tie to change. And just like that the yellow strips changed before her eyes to the Raveclaw blue. See this wasn't so hard!
What Hady wanted to know though was what changing the color of her necktie had to do with today's lesson being held at the bridge. She was sure she'd find out soon enough but she was still rather curious about it all.

Of course she could just enlarge the chocolate. Duh. That was probably even easier. In fact she knew it would be because she had absolutely zero practice with the duplication spell. Good going catface.
Oh, color changing. This sounded fun. They were going to try it out on ties instead of eyebrows. Wasn't quite as risky, but maybe they were leading up to that.
Practice needed to happen. "Colovaria." Sorta tongue twisty to her, so breaking it down was looking like a wise choice. "Co-lo-va-ria. co-lo-va-ria, colovaria." For the wand all that was needed was a simple point. No need to practice that. AJ was pretty sure she could handle that one all on her own.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Moving on, moving on!
"Hey, AJ. You woke up.'' Adi noted, hearing his girlfriend finally getting around to practicing the spell. His Sleeping Beauty. Hehe. Alrightey, so it was back to practice! Adi already knew which colour was next! Most of his favourite people came from this House. Hannah, Cutty, Gray, Zhenya, Hady, Ilia, Ethan, Agatha, Simon...
Slytherin!
''Colovaria!'' Point! GREE- NOPE. We have a red tie still, folks. Hmmm... Not too much focus maybe so he would try again. ''Colovaria!'' Heh, the tie was still red. Adi shook his wand and stared at the tie. It wasn't like he was doing the spell non verbally. It was possible his tie was telling him it wanted to stay red. Hey! Noooo! That can't happen! As much as he liked Gryffindor, he wouldn't trade being a Puffer for anything.
''Colovaria!'' Adi pictured the Slytherin colour clearly in his mind while he pointed the wand. Annnnd there you have it! Green! Wheeee! He was a Snakey!

With the practicing behind her it was time to make some colors change. The first color she wanted to try was green. There really wasn't any reason behind it; green was pretty. That was the extent of it. She already wore the prettiest color there was. Second and third best was all she could hope for at this point.
"Kinda, sorta," she replied to Adi. She was about 85% awake, but before long that number would climb to a full 100%. Was that Adi's second color change? Probably so. Looks like she really needed to get a move in.
Thinking of nothing but the tie turning green, she cried, "Colovaria." Point. Nope. The tie was still red, and this wasn't surprising. If she could just be fully awake right not that would be great.
"Colovaria." Think green. Be green. You are green.
Yesssss! The tie was no longer red. Hmm... this was actually a pretty cool color. AJ could dig it.
See, he KNEW at least of one them would go into it without really even meaning to and it got the Charms Professor grinning once more, though somewhat subdued. No need to spoil it just yet while others were still making their responses.
"Colour does pose a problem for some when accepting gifts. Luckily, there's a quick fix for that." Which they would get into real soon...relatively soon anyway.
-----------------------------
After carefully considering all the responses, he was willing to draw the conclusion that half his class were either avid liars or too saintly for their own good at this age. Clearly the cynicism of the real world hadn't begun to sink in and maybe that was a good thing. Just maybe he should have left it where it was so their parents could continue thinking they'd raised a bunch of wonderful children. That sounded like the best option.
"And now we narrow this down just a little more, based on what Miss Valke briefly touched on."Crunch. Mmmm, this was heavenly. Who'd brought this one again? Nice and crunchy it was. "Imagine being gifted something with a colour so hideous even the most saintly of you can't help but take a pause." You know, before they selflessly accepted it for the 'greater good' of the other individual's feelings.
"This is one of the easiest problems to be fixed with gifting, and that is done with the colour changing charm, 'Colovaria'; with the simple point for a wand movment." A flick of his wand and this information appeared on the board while he went on.
"It's important to keep the colour you want in mind while casting. Now we'll have plenty of time to try this thing out." He paused, glancing down into the ditch once more and taking another bite out of his apple before facing them all again. "But as always, I'd like us to get some quick practice in. Ties off. All of you. We're gonna do this real simple. Practice the charm on the ties, making it every other house's colour before returning it to normal. Let's go."

So there was a quick magical solution to her mother giving her ugly pink shirts and expecting her to wear them? This held her interest. He didn't say anything more on it yet and instead began answering the other students. Maybe her classmates were nicer than her. Maybe that was why she didn't make friends as easily. Maybe some of them just didn't want the rest of the class to think badly of them, she wasn't really sure. Her professor asked a question that he wanted an honest answer to so she obliged.
When she heard him mention her name, she perked up immediately. At least she had answered somewhere along what he had wanted. Colovaria.......hmmmm she knew she would be doing this to some things from her mother either once she could use magic outside of school...........or she'd pack them in her trunk and do it at school......
SPOILER!!: Oh Henric

They were told to take off their ties so they could learn how to change their house tie colour. Cool...he couldn't wait to try out the spell. Henric grinned at his bestie, llia, and quickly loosening his tie."Feeling a little hot in here, don't you think? You better take that tie off then,"he teased and gave her a wink. Haha! His flirt jokes were so corny, he laughed at himself next for actually coming up with it.Seriously..Henric....
Once his tie was off, Henric held up his tie and pointed his wand with his other hand at it. He imagined turning his tie into a solid green in colour, similar to llia's tie colour, concentrating silently and chantering the spell for it in his head.
"Colovaria,"Henric said and watched as his yellow stripes on his tie slowly transition itself into a green one."Brilliant!"he exclaimed, excited that he got it right on his first try. Henric turned to llia and put on his tie again to show her,"Do I look like one of you, llia?"he grinned and posed, acting like the moody boy-version of llia.
Ilia had been amused when Henric 'complained' about her poking him but what he said now......She his her lips behind her hand and was giggling. That wink and expression as he took his tie off. Eep she had a slight pink tinge on her cheeks as she giggled. Was that more corny, or charming, or flirty? She wasn't sure but her best friend being silly like this in class was enjoyable.
She looked at him with a small smirk and slowly untied the cloth around her neck and slipped it into her hand. She lightly snapped his arm with the end of her green tie and held it out to test the charm.
When she looked over at Henric though, the pose and grin make her shake her head and laugh. "There can be only one me Henric." She winked with a cheeky grin. "I don't think you could ever be a Slytherin, even with that sass in your pose." She tossed her long blond hair over her shoulder and concentrated on the tie in her hand.
"Colovaria." Her lovely, lovely green fade and shifted into the bright yellow of her best friends house. She draped the fabric back over her shoulders and posed like a model, but gave him a Barbie doll fake smile. Her doll like face only enhanced the expression and she thought it suited the color. "What do you think, do I look sweet as a Puff?" She joked , returning her smile to normal. Something catty and Slytherin came to her mind as she did this. She wondered if Leah's smiles at her were fake like that........was that how all puff girls were? She only had guy puff friends......

Hehe, look at her snazzy Slytherin tie.
After a moment of looking the tie over, Lux was ready to change its colours again. This time she was going to do Ravenclaw. Blue was her favourite colour, so she knew that it was going to look spectacular. Yep. Lucky Ravenclaws getting to wear blue all the time; sometimes she wished it was the colour for Gryffindor or Hufflepuff, but red and yellow were awesome as well.
Anyway.
In her head she imagined exactly what she wanted the tie to look like as she pointed her wand at it. "COLOVARIA!" Now there were blue and bronze stripes on it instead of green and silver. Yaaaay, she had done good!

Green was a lovely color and AJ debated on wearing it for a while before she had to change the color once more. Not that she had to do it right now because she could do this later in her common room. Who was she kidding? Red was her favorite color and red was the color of Gryffindor. Things wouldn't be changing and she was wasting time.
How would Quigley really know if she had successfully changed the tie into all three colors. Was he keeping track? Probably not. Probably he was too concerned with stuffing his face with apples. He had plenty of them by the way. No reason to look so disappointed with her not having one for him. Greedy, that's what that was.
Anywho, yellow was next! Mellow yellow. The house of her boyfriend. Yellow wasn't that pretty. It was super bright and she wasn't sure how she felt about that.
"Colovaria!!!" With a point of her wand the color went from green to yellow. Not to mention that she had managed to get it done correctly on the very first try. WOOT. Ten points to AJ.

Bye bye pretty blue. It was time for some awesome red.
Lux was picturing the Gryffindor tie in her head, and she was already a total pro at this spell. Look at her go. All that practice for the Charms OWL paid off even though she probably wasn't familiar with half the spells that Professor Quigley was. Oh well. It was just fun changing the colour of things!!
Hehe.
As ready as she would ever be, Lux pointed her wand at her tie. "COLOVARIA!" Look at all that pretty red and gold. Could she keep it that way for the rest of class?
Clara listened intently, still stifling yawns here and there, but becoming more alert and observant as the promise of charms and practising drew nearer. Colovaria was actually one charm she had found use for in the past; when charming snow globes as gifts last year, she'd needed to change the colour of the 'confetti' inside .... and, she'd managed that without too many problems.
SPOILER!!: Eden
Eden tried her best to ignore Cutty as of late. However....as he spoke....Eden glanced his way, and unfortunately, saw the way he was looking right at her. Dented..."trumpet," was she? She bit her lip and tried to keep her face as blank as remotely possible.
She stepped closer to Clara, and looked at her feet. Right. Her cheeks were flushed with a mixture of anger and....something else. She had half a mind to walk back to the castle. Could she feign sickness? She wanted to. Cutty Mordaunt had succeeded in making Eden's day turn sour. She was sure he'd be delighted to know that, though.
Before she got all emotional, though, Quigley was moving on, and Eden just glared at Cutty for minute more before turning her gaze to the professor. She saw you, Cutty. She did. Eden would not forget this. Dented trumpet. "You can still play a dented trumpet...you can't play a trumpet with its buttons missing. " She said softly, but loud enough for Cuthbert to hear.
And that as all she'd give him, for now.
They had a spell to practice. Eden pulled her tie off and just stared at the Ravenclaw colors...the overwhelming feeling of wanting to leave was so strong...ugh. But she had to stay and practice this spell. Maybe she could turn Cutty's robes red--no. NO. She was not going to do anything. She would be a bigger woman. She would act mature and adult about this.
"Colovaria..." it was easy enough. Eden kept repeating it to herself...over and over again...trying NOT to look at Cutty. Where was Clara? She needed Clara...
Before she could get started, however, out of the corner of her eye she noticed Eden move closer to her. "Eden?" Cue concerned best friend. She followed Eden's gaze and realised who was bothering her. Cutty. Uh, just typical. "Ignore him," she urged, stepping forward to block Eden's view of him. "Let's just prove how good we can be with this charm. Okay?"
Clara decided to go for a Hufflepuff yellow first. After muttering 'Colovaria' a couple of times under her breath she loosened her tie and pulled it off, tying it around one of the bridge's beams to give her something more practical to aim at. Now for the mental imagery. In her mind she pictured her Ravenclaw-blue tie turning a brilliant shade of yellow and kept picturing that. "Colovaria," she said, her wand pointed at the tie, and watched as it did exactly what she had imagined it would.
Ha, she still had it.[/QUOTE]
She just nodded at Clara and bit her lip. "Thanks. I'm trying." A little. Oh, were they supposed to do stripes? She glanced down at her tie...it was solid yellow. OOPS. She suppose she needed to make the color stripes...and not just one color...right.
Right.
Easy enough fix, though. "Colovaria!" she cried, and the tie suddenly had yellow and black stripes. GOOD. That looked a lot better. She smiled at Clara. "Good job." She wanted to hug her, but deemed that an after class activity. Hugging her would be weird.
Now to go for..Gryffindor! Red and gold. "Colovaria!" she cried, pointing her wand at the tie...and it instantly changed to yellow and gold. Wait-----yellow and gold. Eden raised an eyebrow. That was certainly...an ugly combination of colors, wasn't it? Ugh. She needed to fix it before her eyes bled. "Colovaria!" The tie changed that yellow to red. GOOD. Eden thought the Gryffindor colors would look good on her too. She had wanted to BE a Gryffindor for awhile when she started here. Thank Merlin she didn't anymore...she liked her house. Ravenclaw was...superior! Clearly.
She snorted to herself and moved onto the last set of colors...stupid green and STUPID SILVER. She didn't want to change her tie to Cutty's colors, but she tried to think of a snake she LIKED. Like..Grayson..Ruby...oh! Rorie! Okay. Hady, she liked Hady.
Not Cutty's house, but THEIR house.
"Colovaria!" she tapped her wand to the gold and red tied, the colors changing to green and silver. Well.
She did it. She practiced. Could she turn her tie back now?

He didn't think he looked that bad being in Slytherin...the sorting hat almost wanted to put him there but he told the hat..he didn't care which..as long as he could get to the table fast so they could get on with the feast. The sorting hat snorted...he actually did....
Anyway, he waited for llia to finish with her colour changing spell on her tie. Oooh...hufflepuff eh? Henric blinked at his bestie for a moment when she posed with her big dolly eyes and smile, asking him if she looked sweet as a puff."Who are you? And what have you done to my bestfriend?"Henric asked, grinning widely while acting all seriously. She looked different...mighty different and he wasn't sure if he like this version of llia but woohooo...this was fun!
"But you know...you don't look as bad....I think being a Hufflepuff suits you too,"Henric replied, shrugging nonchalantly. He then took off his tie and held it back up again.
"Maybe being in Gryffindor fits me better?"Henric muttered.Henric cast out the spell again,"Colorvaria!" while thinking hard on the colour red on his tie. He should act brave and courageous next.hehe.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
"Better wake right up,'' Adi whispered and gave AJ a quick but sharp poke on the arm. No one could have seen that because he did that discreetly. Mhmm. Wakeeeee up, girlfriend. He went on raising his wand to his tie again though his eyes remained on AJ. She wasn't going to fall back to sleep right here, right now, was she? Nope! It didn't seem so for she continued with her practice. Goody!
...................
If Adi thought that making his tie go from red to green was difficult, he didn't have to wait long to find out it was going to get more difficult.
''Colovaria!'' Point!
''Colovaria!'' Point!
''Colovaria!'' Point!
Wheeee! All Adi got was a whole lot of NOTHING! He seriously doubted that failure to change the House colours had anything to do with him considering himself to be a part of the particular House though he had been told a few times he had Slytherin traits. Nahhh, it was all in his head. Anyway, he needed to think about blue more now... and this is what he did. ''Colovaria!'' Point! HelllOOOoooooOOO, Ravenclaw tie! Finally Adi had done all three colours and now it was back to his beloved yellow.
''Colovaria!'' Focus and point! Yaaaaay! He had his yellow tie back! And without a hitch, too. He pulled the fabric around his neck and knotted it. What next, Professor Catman? Adi was set for more activities!
Norah held her orange tie up to the light, squinting at it to see if she could try really hard and it'd just look red. News flash: it didn't. Oh, well. Maybe she could invent her own Hogwarts house one day and IT could have orange colors and then really this wasn't even a mistake at all. Good plan, Kittredge.
Raising her wand again, she pointed it at the orange tie. What color next? Blue. Definitely blue, so then she could save green for last which was kinda the best 'cause plants were green and THEREFORE green was awesome. She grinned to herself. Therefore was a funny word to think in your head 'cause it made your thoughts seem all sorts of fancy. OKAY, SO. Blue stuff. The sky, that was easy. And those muggle candies that pretended to be raspberry flavored except they were blue which didn't even make any sense, and the ocean and and Culloden's walls and her favorite jacket with the little daisies. With all the blue things stuck in her brain, the fourth year cast "Colovaria!"
It was the RIGHT COLOR this time! Kind of! Huzzah! It hadn't turned purple (although that would've been lovely), and it HAD turned blue. Even if it was the wrong shade of blue it was technically still blue which was much better than last time, so there.
Angel was totally enjoying herself now and was looking at her Ravenclaw colour tie... she wished that she could keep it because it would come in useful but she knew that she wouldn't have been allowed to and she was sure the Professor would be able to tell the difference between a normal tie and the one she had.
"Colovaria!" Angel pointed her wand at her tie as she visualised the Slytherin Colours in her head. "Colovaria!" Angel watched as the tie turned colours once again and were now an exact copy of the Slytherin tie. How awesome was that? Angel was sure that she would be using this spell loads of time because it was easy and so much fun.
Angel then turned her tie back to the normal colour, she liked the other colours but well nothing would replace the Gryffindor colours in her heart, once a Gryffindor always a Gryffindor was the saying right.

"I'm up. I'm up," she half yawned, half grumbled. The poke to the arm cut her off mid yawn. Hey. Thinking about a playful shove her mind went to Quigley and him not letting them work together the last time. Adi had just better be alert when the class was over. That was all she was going to say about that.
Her tie had been red, green and then yellow. There was only one color left and that was blue. The house color that her other sister belonged to. You know the one that wasn't good enough to be considered a lion. AJ was pretty sure that Angel barely made it. Most likely it helped that she was so lucky to share the same face as her. You were welcome.
Not letting her mind run completely away from her, she tried to imagine things that were blue. For good measure she even closed her eyes. Waves, the sky, and blue bubblegum ice cream all came to mind. Her breathing was getting deeper. Did she really just fall right back asleep standing up? Her mouth opened a tiny bit and a snore jolted her awake. What? Looking around she realized she was still in class. Whoops. Nobody saw that, right?
Back to her tie, she pointed her wand directly at it. "Colovaria!"
Nothing. This was probably why it was frowned upon to sleep in class. It was an honest mistake. Birds weren't even up at this hour. Only they really were. Focus!
"Colovaria!" Yellow was gone, and a pretty shade of blue took its place. There. She had done all the required practicing. Could she go back to sleeping while standing. That was an art. An art that she was willing to perfect!
Admirable. People called him that a lot; did they maybe think that was what he was aiming for? Because admirable sounded like a good thing to be, but everyone always said it so... uncertainly, like Quigley was doing. Toby only watched, tried to gauge the professor's reaction, and nodded.
As usual, other people's answers were confusing him. He couldn't comprehend disliking anything someone got him. Even if it wasn't his kind of thing, the fact that someone had gifted it was the focus, wasn't it? And even if you truly DIDN'T like it... Toby didn't know if honesty was the best policy or if hiding it or trading it really was the best idea. It hurt his head to think about, considering it wasn't a scenario he ever pictured for himself. And as for mean gifts, like Zander had mentioned... the pure concept just went over his head. Why would anyone do that?
Okay. Well. WELL. He was not going to dwell on all that confusing stuff. A COLOUR CHANGING CHARM, then. That sounded cool, and Toby wondered what kind of adventure they could have with this. He listened to Quigley's instructions, wand already out and twirling between his fingers while he used his free hand to somewhat awkwardly loosen the knot of his tie and slip it off his head.
On with the show, then.
"Colovaria. Colovaria." Easy enough, right? And picturing colours was easy too. And a point of his wand? Nailed that wand movement years ago. He pointed his wand at the tie now, the green of Slytherin firmly in his mind (green was first purely because they were outside, and outside always made him think of green). "Colovaria."
It was difficult to determine whether it was EXACTLY the right shade of green, but it looked close enough to him. He might have asked a nearby Slytherin if he could use their tie as a comparison, except that everyone here was practicing the same spell so... that would be difficult.
... Toby squinted at the tie. The secondary colours were still black, probably because he'd not focused on changing them as well. A few more seconds of squinting later, Toby pointed his wand at the tie again, said "Colovaria," and, badabooooom. Silver. Silver and green. Nice.

Alright so he was ready to try the spell out for himself. Benny ahd already noticed Adi beside him making his own tie Gryffindor red for a bit before moving on to Slytherin green. "So close..." he mused quietly with a chuckle. His bestie was the only one of the quartet that wasn't a lion in the grand scheme of things and it would have been cool to have him be part of the house albeit temporarily.
But they did have to cycle through all of the houses. The sixth year figured he might as well do it alphabetically for any sort of way to cover them. Benny already had the Gryffindor tie, now onto the Huffie. "Colovaria..." he cast when he was ready, pointing at his tie and focusing on a golden yellow color. The charm only half-worked at first, the changes working on part of the tie. "Colovaria!" he cast again with a bit more intent. This time he had a tie fit for a Hufflepuff.

What in the freaking name of Merlin did colour charms have to do with the huge ditch down below? Dude did not understand this link one bit, and it was probably why he was looking between the two with a confused expression on his face.
Also why he was late in starting the activity. LOL!
Grayson reached up and pulled off his tie as seductively as possible. It wasn't a show for anyone per se, but taking your tie off the normal way was far too boring. You needed the poise and the smirk and the kinda messy haired look that looked cool. Dude knew all about that.
When the tie was off, he pulled out his wand, chanting the spell in the process. "Colovaria......... colovaria........... coooooloooooooovariaaaaaaaa," Chanting like the ones they did in Runes, occasionally. The wand movement was simple so obviously, that didn't need to be practiced. Who could get pointing wrong?
Here. We. GO!
With the colours of another house in his mind, the seventh year pointed his wand at the tie and cried, "Colovaria!" BOOM! Confidence!

Before Clara Slytherinified her tie, she paused to watch Eden. Other than the ugly yellow and gold mix - which Clara made a face at - she did everything perfectly and the tie went from yellow, to red, and to green. "Nicely done," she said proudly, giving her friend a little nudge before turning her attention back to her own tie.
First, she pictured the red and gold tie turning green .... "Colovaria" .... and it did, then she envisioned the stripes, taking longer this time to make sure she got it just right. "Colovaria," she muttered and watched as silver stripes made their way across the. Piece of cake. Clara was proud of herself, despite that, especially as her mind was still foggy.
"We can change them back, right?" She asked Eden ........ well, sort of.
She was going to turn it back regardless, she just wanted to encourage Eden to do the same.
One final wand point. "Colovaria," she said after imaging the Slytherin-coloured tie turning back to the original Ravenclaw colours. Much better .... not that she had anything again snakes, just .... Cutty. Subtle glares for you, Cutty. Clara looked back to her best friend, checking again that she was okay, while untying her tie from around the bridge's post and replacing it around her neck.
Merlin knew if the tie was exactly the right shades it needed to be. Fact was, it was now more or less Slytherin colours, the colours he'd been aiming for. That was a success.
Next up then, he was going to go for some awesome Gryffindor colours. This exercise was simple enough that he could just get on with it, of course. So Toby pointed his wand at the tie, envisioned the bold Gryffindor RED in his, and said, "Colovaria."
Except something distracted him at the last moment. Something that had him looking up and turning his head around to look for the source. No saying what it was, but when Toby looked back at the tie he saw that he had successfully turn it-
Um...
........... Ravenclaw colours.
Uhhh... huh. That was weird. And made NO SENSE, but Toby wasn't complaining. He just tried to ACT NATURAL, and wipe the confused look from his face. LALALA. TOTALLY MEANT TO DO THAT. And nobody could really figure otherwise, either, hopefully. Unless the CatMan could read minds.
Merlin. What if that CatMan could read minds?

Right. New house tie colours.
Grayson tilted his head to either side of his head, like they would in fighting scenes when they're getting ready to show the other person who's boss. It kinda got him all riled up, you know? Kinda. That and not looking at what anyone else was doing was helping tons. No distractions and whatnot.
And it was freaking weird to be holding a Ravenclaw tie. This had been HIS tie and now it was all BLUE. Jeez, man.
Concentrating hard this time, the seventh year pointed his wand at the tie again and cried, "Colovaria!"
The change in colour occurred much faster this time. The boy knew that it had worked almost as soon as the spell left his mouth. Heh. Look at that blue tie slowly turning purple and then red. Yeah, you do that!
So this time he really did need to turn the tie Gryffindor colours, and there'd be no working his way around the fact that he'd messed it up if he did it again. Unless nobody was actually paying any attention to him of course.
Cue a casual glance around at everyone else to see where everyone's eyes were directed. Mhm. Mhm. Mhm.
His brain was stalling. Toby realised that. He blinked a few times before looking at his now-that's-what-I-call-Ravenclaw tie. Gryffindor colours then. To be fair, he knew he could do it, just as long as he didn't get distracted again; he wasn't finding this spell to be too difficult.
"Colovaria," Toby said as confidently as possible, pointing his wand at the tie and picturing his head the many Gryffindor students he happened across every day and the colours of their school ties. And, just like that, he was an honorary Gryffindor. Red and gold tie. Awesome. He admired it for just a moment before he had to turn it back again.
"Colovaria." A point of his wand later and-... uh...
... nothing? Um. Right.
"... Colovaria..."
................................... pls.
"ColoVARia!" An aggressive wand-point later, and he had a yellow and black tie once again. Ahh, there. It looked more or less accurate, but Toby would probably cast a quick 'finite' on it after class was over, just to make sure he had it completely back to normal and all. But right now, he slipped the tie back on and let it hand from his neck all loosely, not bothering to tighten the knot again just yet, in case they still needed them.

With his ego still soaring up in space, Grayson twirled his wand around his hand and looked up to see if anyone was looking. No? No one had seen his marvel? His spectacle? His amazing feat?
Freaking rude, man.
Maybe he'd gotten a little ahead of himself but the last Colovaria was proving to be difficult. He said the incantation the same way as before and he was still pointing his wand at the tie but the. Tie. Didn't. Want. To change. COLOUR!
"Colovaria!" No.
"Colovaria!" No.
See what he meant? Jeez. "Colovaria! Coooolooooovaria! COLOVARIA!"
HOLY FREAKING MERLIN. FINALLY!
The tie in his hands changed to an orangey colour before settling on the yellow colour of the Hufflepuff house. Huh. Maybe his lack of understanding of that house explained why he found this one difficult.
