It's bright and early Monday morning and time for the first Charms lesson of the term. As you enter, you notice the room is in it's typical set up with the desks and chairs lined in three neat rows to allow easy access should the Professor need to move about--though this is highly unlikely.
The windows, as usual are wide open letting in the natural light from the outdoors. Nothing like a little fresh air and a BRIGHT classroom to keep everyone awake after what was a large breakfast.
The Professor stands to the front, leaned against his desk waiting for the students to arrive. If he looks tired, he probably is...but that's nothing new, is it? Behind him the board remains blank for now except for these instructions:

OOC: The lesson hasn't officially begun yet, feel free to RP your students' arrivals and all that fancy stuff. Do remember the rules as you post. I should move this class in another 10-12 hours *crosses fingers*

He WAS itching to do this, so he hoped Ethan came up with answer like... NOW!
Admittedly though, he was quite distracted with watching everyone else give the activity a go. It looked like SO MUCH FUUUUUUUN. How often did one get permission from a Professor to shoot their peers into the sky AT ALL... let alone in the confined (even if it was cushy) space of a classroom.
Just, amazing. Quigley was all sorts of awesome, perhaps next lesson the man would get TWO apples. Or three, or four... or better yet, HE COULD GET THE MAN A TREE!
Hady grinned at her friend as she had reached out to keep her from falling over. That was nice of her. Norah was a very hyper happy kind of girl but she was also really cool. How come they never hung about outside of lessons? Hmm she'd have to find her around the castle sometime, it could be fun.
Anyhow as she had given the spell a good try she watched the little bit older girl fly upwards. Not as high as Hady would've liked but it was certainly something and a decent start. "Yup. Next time though you're going much higher," she insisted instantly. It was to much fun to not give it her best go and make the other girl get the same feeling she had of flying.
Stepping backwards a step or two she gave a nod of her head towards the Hufflepuff. She was ready when she was.
Norah put on her most bestest game face as she held her wand at the ready, facing Hady. "Here it goes!" She squinted slightly for concentration reasons and imagined her friend going aaaalll the way to the ceiling. Not so high that she hit the ceiling, though, 'cause that would probably hurt. Then again the ceiling was all squishy now so maybe it'd be AWESOME. Like an upside-down trampoline or something. Crazy awesome, even. "Alarte Ascendare!" She brandished her wand, focusing so hard on the Slytherin that her eyesight started to go a little fuzzy.
Of course, the fourth year's eyes were NOT too fuzzy to see that Hady's feet had left the ground. On the first try and everything! She rubbed her eyes with one hand and gave yet another thumbs up as her partner travelled upwards. Aw yeah.

Hady tried not to laugh at the look of concentration on her friends face as she gave her a thumbs up. She was ready to fly! Well not fly exactly but certainly close enough right now. Shifting about on the spot to contain her excitement she prepared herself to be shot upwards into the air as she heard Norah speak the spell and brandish her wand.
This time was different. She was expecting it but at the same time didn't expect it to happen so fast as she quickly moved higher and higher into the air. Knowing that she was already higher then last time she raised her hands up to touch the ceiling with her fingers as she went up through the hoop! Just as fast as she had gone upwards she came rushing back down the floor rising up to meet her. Upon impact with the trampoline like floor she bounced up and down several times nearly toppling over this time as she grinned at her partner. "That was awesome, great work Norah!" Mhmm had to congradulate her partner cause ya know if it weren't for her she wouldn't have left the floor.
"Your turn," Hady told her once she stopped bouncing about enough to hold her wand steady to give it a go. "Alarte Ascendare!" She exclaimed brandishing her wand with all the intent and focus she could in order to make Norah go as high up as she had or better yet, higher!
Come on, come on, Hady urged quietly as she watched Norah's rise upwards off the floor.

They were starting to make him feel a little dizzy with all the up and down and up and down. Were it not for the fact he had to keep an eye on them in case any of them needed help, Maddox would have left the room or opted for a nap, as it stood he could only sit there watching--until a glance at the clock above had him realizing they were out of time.
Once again the man stretched and grew until he was back in the shape of a man at which point he called the class to order.
"Alright, that's all the time we have for practising this spell today. So far I like what I'm seeing." From this term really. Hardly any whining and for the most part they seemed to be nailing the charm.
"So we'll end here for today, you can collect your things to the side," where he'd banished them, "then you're free to go. Homework will be posted, do keep an eye out"
Was there anything else he was missing...? Nothing he could think of at the moment so....yeah, they could go.
OOC: Class is officially dismissed, thanks for coming guys!! :3 I might leave this thread open until I get home from my exam in case anyone needs to finish off their posts real quick.

Eden liked Hughbert as a partner because he wasn't flippin' distracting. Right down to business, he was. HMPH. The Ravenclaw just twirled her wand a bit, watching him...think? And nodded when he said she could go first.
"All right. No problem. Hope you're not scared of heights, Hughbert," she said with an eyebrow quirk. Clearing her throat, the seventh year thought she would count down in order to give him a LITTLE prep time, yeah? "On three, okay?...one....two..." she held her wand aloft, "three---ALARTE ASCENDARE!" she cried, the spell shooting out of the end of her wand towards Hugh.
She just hoped he made it up through the hoop.
Hugh was NOT paying attention to Eden at all. She could have been unpacking the secrets of the universe (the only topic that could really catch his attention ever) and he would have completely disreharded it. He was still focused on the things that the Hufflepuff had said and the implications of it. Hmmph.
....so when she shot him up in the air...Hugh was unprepared.
Which resulted in an, "EEEEEEEEEEK!" Girly screaming and a sudden overwhelming sense of nausea when he went through the hoop. AH AH AH AH AHHHHH.
AHHHHHHH.
AHHH.
Oh the ground. Oh the ground. Hugh collapsed on the ground and tried to hug it. Oh man was not meant to fly like that. Brooms, rockets, planes. Fine. BUT JUST SHOOTING UP IN THE AIR?! He couldn't do it.

Marsha’s eyes went wide as Rusty went hiiiigh and then came back down happily bouncing around on the floor. They both made silly noises, but considering the way their stomachs were dropping as they came back to the ground - well it was worth it and totally obvious that it was going to happen; right?
Hehehe.
Bending her kneese slightly as it it was going to help her get higher into the air, Marsha braced for the charm and then WHOOOOSH! She was in the air. She felt like a GIANT! She had NEVER been that tall before, ever! Whooahhhh.
”So cool!” She said as she landed again. ”I’ve never been that tall. I WISH I was that tall!” The Welsh-girl told Rusty. She REALLLY wanted to be tall.
SIGH.
Oh well, moving on.
Taking another deep breath, ”Alarte Ascendare!!!” She said, concentrating as hard as possible on what she wanted the charm to do. LOOK! LOOK! Rusty went much higher that time! She was getting it! She was getting there and getting better.
Toby wanted to try casting the spell again? Okaaaaay.... HE WAS SOOOO READY!
As the older student cast the spell, he closed his eyes and felt that slooooowly his feet were leaving the ground. Then he went up up up.... And now Jackson could reach the hoop! But he still went higher until his head hit the ceiling. Good that it wasn't hurt since Professor Quigley had designed the ceiling became soft and bouncy so if somebody hit it, they wouldn't be injured and ended up in hospital wing. Enough, Jackson. Then he landed softly at the ground. "Okay, now it's your turn." Brandishing his wand to Toby, he performed the spell. "Alarte Ascendare!"
OOPS. Perhaps Toby had been a little TOO enthusiastic with that spell. He squinted up at the ceiling to see if the Gryffindor was alright; even though Quigley had mentioned cushioning the ceiling he still felt the need to CHECK and to take responsibility if necessary. But when Jackson came back down, he seemed fine and happy. WHEW, that was good. Might have put a bit of a dampener on the new-friend-making experience if he went ahead and shot said new friend right through the ceiling and up into the library on the fourth floor.
BUT COOL. TOBY'S TURN AGAIN.
Tobias stood with his arms spread out a little, like 'bring it on', and waited for the spell to hit.
Andddd up up UP he went, into the air. WHOOOSH, not as high as last time, but no less thrilling. Toby was unsure if he would make it through the hoop, so he quickly put his arms UP when he reached it, and caused it to light up again, though it may well have happened anyone.
"Nice one!" he exclaimed on his way back down, landing once again with a thud and having to quickly take a step back to ensure he didn't stumble. Oh, oops. Quigley was talking, and... awww, it was over?
Well... okay. But Toby was definitely going to practice this spell again. On himself. He'd prove it could be possible with enough determination, and perhaps some sort of potion to make his arms extra long and bendy. For now, though, he looked back at his partner.
"It was great working with you, Jackson!" the Hufflepuff said with a huge grin on his face. "I... can send you up again if you like, though?" They'd both gone up twice, but it was worth asking. Though Toby kept his voice low as Quigley had sort of already told them to leave. But if Jackson had enjoyed it as much as he had, Toby was willing to send him up one more time.

And he wasn't going to move either. Sorry Eden.
Eden watched as Hugh shot into the air easily and effortlessly...she had always thought boys were very dense......interesting. She head tilted as he came back down and seemed to......well, he seemed to be terrified. Eden raised an eyebrow and touched him with her foot.
"Hugh. Hugh, please. You have to do me now." EDEN WOULD BE SO MAD IF HE DIDN'T. SHE THOUGHT IT LOOKED LIKE SO MUCH FUN. "Come on, Hughbert--I wanna' touch the ceiling--" COULD SHE?
LIKE WAS IT POSSIBLE?
"If you don't get up sooooon I'll do it again--" she waved her wand threateningly. She would do no such thing. That was MEAN. But Hugh didn't need to know that?

HUUUUGGGEEEEE GRIN!
”Come on then, try! I bet you can!” After all, each time they had tried so far they had both done better than the last time.
Bracing herself, Marsha grinned as she basically FLEW to the sky. OH MY GOSH!!!! WEHHHHEEEEE! AND Marsha felt like she was flying because she had NEVER EVER been this high before and it was amazing. And the free-falling was fun too. Due to the height she got to this time though, she bounced off the trampoline and shot into the air again. It took a few bounces before she managed to land on her feet and slow them down so that she could stop.
Her hair was all over the place and she grinned as she laughed breathlessly. ”Well done Rusty! That was amazing.”
”My turn!” She said, as she took a few breaths to recenter herself. Right, you can do this! ”Alarte Ascendare!!”
And just like she had, Rusty SHOT into the air, seemingly as high as she herself had just gone. Oh. Sadness. Professor Quigley asked them to stop, just as Rusty was coming back down to land bounce on the trampoline.
With a sad smile, she looked at Rusty. ”Thank you for working with me. That was so much fun.” She grinned at her dorm mate and smiled at the Professor. ”Thank you for the awesome lesson, Professor. That was so much fun.”
There was a bounce in her step as she got ready to leave the classroom, and it wasn’t from the bouncy floor.

Come on, come on, Hady urged quietly as she watched Norah's rise upwards off the floor.
Norah's grin grew exponentially as she watched Hady go aaaalll the way up. THROUGH the hoop. That's right. She DID it. She slapped her partner a high five as her feet reconnected with the squishy ground, stumbles or no stumbles. "Thanks! I bet you'll get it all the way this time too." She'd bet a chocolate frog on it easily. Maybe even three. And chocolate frogs were very valuable if y'asked her.
She stood with her arms hanging at her sides, trying to make herself as light as possible to she'd go flying way up. The fourth year wasn't entirely sure how to actually make herself more light, but it was easy to pretend that thinking about feathers and balloons would make her light anyways. Her feet lifted off the floor with a good amount of force this time, and her stomach gave another delightful lurch that made it feel like she was flying. She went up and up, through the hoop and all the way until her outstretched hands bumped the springy ceiling. YEEESSS!
The Hufflepuff slapped Hady another high five as she landed, a little more gracefully than before. They'd both done it! MAN, this was exciting. And just in time, too! She beamed at the younger girl as she packed her bag up again. "Thanks for being my partner." That was radical. She waved goodbye to Professor Quigley as she passed him. He got smiles too, 'cause he really did let them have a trampoline floor AND fly places. That was all sorts of cool.
"Thanks!'' Adi said. He was happy that he had at least gotten Mikey up a bit but he was aiming for the other guy to go a whole lot more higher. "Yep, sure. Go on!'' ADI WAS READY! YEAHHH!
Annnnd UPPP he went! "I CAN flyyyyy!!! Woops. He had started off that in a rather loud voice but halfway through he remembered that Professor Maddox despised loud noises. Heh. No noises from this from this Puffer. Nope.
Wheeee! Adi was shooting up in the ceiling's direction at a speed, yo! Mikey obviously had a hang of the spell better than he did.
But all too soon it was over and Adi was back on his feet. "Awesome job, Mikey! You did better than I did.'' So how about a fist bump? His left fist was waiting. Hehe.
"I think I'll try again,'' the Puffer stated eyeing the hoop. Mikey was going through that hoop this time. "Alarte Ascendare!'' Concentrate and BRANDISSSH! Off went the Gryffindor called Mikey... closer, closer, closer... and THROUGH the hoop! WOOT!
"That was much better,'' he stated as Mikey descended, pleased with himself.
This guy was kinda infectious with his enthusiasm and Michael was only too happy give the Hufflepuff a fist bump before stepping back so that Adi could send him in the air again.
And this time the younger guy had done it. Within seconds Michael found himself going up in the air and through the hoop and then back to the floor again.
He was just getting ready to have another go when the Professor called it a day. Oh...well that sucked. He was going to ask the man if he could try doing it non-verbally.
Eh, he could practice it later. On Zahra. Hehe.
"Good job Adi." He slapped the Hufflepuff on the back before picking up his bag and headed for the door.

Oooh, ooh! She felt it! Some sort of imperceptible force pulled her feet away from the floor for a few seconds. Drifting in altitude, Natalia opened her eyes and glanced down, observing that she had only sailed a couple of inches above the classroom floor.
When the force vanished, Natalia's feel immediately dropped to the ground. "Not bad!" The Lioness nodded in approval.
It was Natalia's turn again.
"Ready?" She held her wand steady and concentrated solely on the spell. "Alarte Ascendare!"

A momentary scowl crossed Brooklyn’s face as she saw her partner only go up a few inches. That was basically a fail in her eyes, and it annoyed her. The fact it was probably simply because it was more difficult to raise something that was bigger than her hardly mattered. She’d focused, just like she’d done with the parchment ball, so the fact it hadn’t worked meant she’d failed. She never failed. Something was drastically wrong if a weakness showed up in a class.
There wasn’t anything she could do about it now, though. Even though her partner’s compliment nearly fell on deaf ears. Brooklyn had merely nodded to show she acknowledged it, as well as to say she was ready for the Lioness’ second attempt. Aside from that, she was distracted by her own thoughts, although she noticed the incantation actually sounded right this time. Moments before she felt herself rising up into the air, and her mood snapped, replaced by surprise. She only rose up maybe four feet or so, but getting to see over everyone’s heads for once was a novel occurrence.
It didn’t last long, though, as she started falling at the same time she heard Professor Quigley speaking. When did he turn back from being a cat?, she wondered, feet finally hitting the ground and bouncing a little before she finally came to a stop. When didn’t really matter. All that mattered was that class was over, and she hadn’t managed to make her partner fly. That annoyed her yet again, even though she couldn’t recall many people managing to make it up to the ceiling anyhow. She’d failed. Nothing else mattered, as she made her way over to her bag and gathered her things up. She didn’t even have it in her to say anything to Professor Quigley as she headed for the door. Nope. She was an annoyed snake right now.

She finally began to calm down as the professor announced that the lesson was over, and smiled at her friend. "Thank you. It was so cool." She'd FLOWN... kinda. And it had been fun! She kinda wished Hogwarts had a trampoline outside somewhere so she could go and see if she could BOUNCE that high...
"Thanks Professor, I hope you have a lovely day!" she said as she walked out of the classroom.

And now it was her turn, but she was not ready to go. Far from it. "How about we just pretend I got hurtled into the air?" That sounded like a MUCH better idea. Looking up at the ceiling again she gulped.
That faint feeling was coming back...
Considering she'd had fun being shot in the air, Tia may have hoped it would have relaxed Lux some but judging from her facial expressions and the fact that the girl looked pale as anything, Tia second guessed that.
Pretend she got hurtled into the air?
"I don't hurtle you. I just shoot you up straight and you come back down. You don't have to do anything in the air..."
So really, nothing to be nervous over.
After a comforting smile to the older girl, the fifth year confidently brandished her wand, "Alarte Ascendare!" And closed her eyes following the incantation hoping Lux wouldn't hurt her for forcing her into the air, but at least Quigley had softened the ceiling and floor. But she guessed Lux probably could resist the spell, yes?

Zeke exchanged a look with Ethan, they didn't even get a chance to try it!!!!! No fair. This was SUPER disheartening, but he supposed he could still do it... just... not here... ahem. If they stuck pillows to the ceiling in the dorms, that would suffice, right? Maybe he could practice on Frankie?

Okay, the words were meant to be reassuring but that didn't really help so much?? Fears were a crazy thing and irrational, so it didn't matter much that the ceiling was soft and the floor was like a trampoline.
Before Lux had a chance to comment, Tia hit her with the spell!!!
"AAAAAAAAAH!!!"
Shrieking, she was shot into the air while flailing her arms. Panicking. She was PANICKING!! Somehow she saw part of her body pass through the hoop, but she didn't even care because this was terrifying.
"OOOF!" Hitting the ground, Lux made a sound before bouncing a few times and coming to a stop. Feeling tears in her eyes, she wiped them away before shakily getting to her feet. Somehow she heard Quigley say something, but it was hard for her to understand what he was saying. Class was over?? People were leaving, so she was taking that as a yes.
"It was nice working with you," she said to Tia even though it hadn't been fun at all. Grabbing her bag, she slowly made her way to the exit. "Goodbye, Professor." Hopefully he would never do a lesson like this again. She was still freaking out even though she was TRYING to keep her composure.

Lesson was over? Awh... but that was so much fun! She picked her belongings up, decided to give Echo a sort of half hug. "Thanks for being my partner," she said. It had been a good lesson. Lots of fun, laughter, and lots of learning and practicing. As she passed Professor Quigley, she stopped and said "Thanks for such a fun lesson Professor. I learnt a lot!" And she left the classroom imagining how cool it would be if the whole castle was made of a trampoline floor. They could just bounce all the way around. And no need for stairs! Just have to jump high enough. Except for the great hall, of course. That obviously needed a supportive floor.

Okay so maybe ... just maybe ... should have waited for Lux to approve her casting the spell on her; or NOT because then she might never have gotten a chance to practice and she kind of needed practice. Cause, sorry Lux, OWLs. She knew what that was like.
"See, that wasn't so bad," Tia beamed when the ginger landed relatively safely. And then it was time to pack up and leave.
"Thank you for working with me as well. And sorry ..." she bit her lip slowly, "for you know, making you face your fears or whatnot." But it was good, right? Facing fears was good for you once in awhile. Grabbing her bag, she nodded politely to Quigley; "Bye, Professor. Thank you!"
