| | |  Astronomy Lesson 1 :: The Moon {formation theory & tides}
The first thing you may notice as you step into the Astronomy classroom on this especially sunny afternoon is that Professor Flamsteed is no where to be seen. Is this another test your constant vigilance or is the man uncharacteristically running late? Which ever the reason, you best find a seat among the large semicircle of desks and follow the instructions on the blackboard that read:
Quote:
Take out a quill and write your FULL name and year on the piece of parchment provided.
Once you have done so, give it a tap with your wand.
The parchment, enchanted by the professor himself, will turn into a sturdy wood name plaque when you do so.
Did you remember to use the lint roller on the small table outside of the classroom? It was there next to the sign that reads, "Not to be used as a brush for your hair" and has the signature of a former student in the bottom right corner.
So come on in and have a seat. Class will begin....well...as soon as the professor graces you all with his presence.

WAIT THEY WERE GOING OUTSIDE? Rowan scooped up her things quickly then almost tripped over her balloon - righting herself at the last second as it burst under her feet.
Did she have everything? Good. Okay. She followed everyone out of the classroom.

Agatha narrowed her eyes at Aditya when the boy made the balloons fly back to the box. 'I don't think professor Flamsteed would appreciate you using his balloons for that purpose.' Agatha sort of mimicked the way the Hufflepuff had said such silly sentence as she made a face then rolled her eyes. Annoying Hufflepuff was annoying.
And then he was grinning at her right before he left the room? Honestly, what was up with that guy? All Agatha could do was roll her eyes again and ignore him and his weirdness, then gather her stuff and leave the classroom behind everyone else.
Pfffft.

Didn't have to tell him twice. Quickly packing up his things and purposefully popping the second water balloon he'd taken, Benzi slung his bag over his shoulder and followed the rest of the class down to the lake.
This should be interesting.

"Aquatraxi Gravita!" said again, and hit himself over the head again with his wand. And hit and hit and hit again and again. GAH! He stomped his foot that time and glared at his wand. It wasn't working! He looked up wide-eyed as the professor said it was time to go. WAIT, he hadn't gotten the...spell.
He stared after the professor and other students as they packed up and started to leave. He looked at his wand again and chewed his lip and put his things away, the water balloon still on the floor, not moving. This was going to be a nightmare when he got down there wasn't it?
Finally he was ready and glanced towards Jay and headed for the door. Already failed on his attempt at spells...

After Kace was done practicing his spell, he heard the Professor tell them to pack their things and go to the black lake. Awesome a field trip! Don't mind if I do. He packed up his backpack and left with the rest of the class. This will be interesting and he was smiling gleefully. He wondered what they could be doing at the black lake. He would find out soon enough.

They were heading down to the lake, and that was awesome!! Outdoor activities were the best kind of activities unless it was the middle of winter. Just so long as they werent required to swim, Lux would be okay because the would never break her promise.
Lux excitedly banished the bits of balloon and water before grabbing her bag and following after her classmates. | |

And all of ten seconds after the Professor had answered her, Marsha’s balloon went POP! splattering across the floor. She sighed and pouted slightly as she looked at the left over purple balloon she had been using. Fairwell purple, you were a good test subject. Thank you for helping me to learn.
Onnn to the next one!
With a skip in her step, she moved to get another balloon however as Professor Airey had said they only had another minute or so, she wasn’t sure if she had time to practise more. However, practise was never bad so she decided why not - however just as she picked up a red balloon, Professor Airey told them it was time to get on with the proper fun. YAY!
Packing her things quickly in her bag, she slung it over her shoulder, carrying her wand carefully as she followed the Professor and the rest of the class outside.

"Super cool!" Toby agreed with that first year. Because LOOK. LOOK HOW EXCITED HE WAS. Man, the enthusiasm of a first year was just one of the best things.
There was another firstie nearby, Toby noticed then, who the first one seemed to know and who looked like HE was having trouble too. Toby watched him for a second, to see if he would get it, and was about to speak up and suggest he try some of Toby's visualising tricks, but then Airey was kicking them all out.
Well, no... he was moving the class OUTSIDE. Which he'd mentioned earlier maybe, so no big surprise. Well, Toby was ready to go, so he headed on out with everyone else. He left his stuff in the classroom, because this Hufflepuff was likely to be so full of energy by the end of the class that running all the way back up to grab his things might be kinda helpful.
As he went, though, he kept an eye out for that one first year who had seemed so upset. Toby would do his best to help combat that. He would he would he would.

Rolling out already? Well, alrightie then. Was he supposed to bring the balloon along or-- Oh. Guess not? And as for his stuff, he'd just leave it here. Surely Professor Flamsteed would allow them to come back and grab it on their way back to the Common Room. Luckily the Astronomy tower wasn't far from Gryffindor. He looked around the room and saw Toby making his way out so waaaaaaait we're coming!!!
Was Sophie coming out too? 'Cause he'd just wait for her at the door and then everyone could just walk to the black lake together. Didn't want to leave anyone behind, y'know? Erm, was he supposed to be on the lookout for the younger Gryffindors? Because he could stick behind and do that too maybe. Man, this responsibility stuff didn't get any easier the second time around. Just sayin.

Oops and apparently they were moving on out !! To the black lake for their final adventure. Pity cause Tia had just gotten her pronunciation correct on the spell, but at least it might come in handy for the next activity, yes?
Shoving her notes into her satchel - because she had to go to the library after class so there was no point in walking down to grounds and back up to the tower just to walk halfway down again - Tia swung her satchel across her shoulder, vanished her still whole balloon and then followed her classmates down the black lake for whatever awaited them.
