Alright, break over! Time to practice again.

"Aquatraxi Gravita!" SPLASH. The purple balloon exploded into pieces while water spilled on the floor. "Oh COME ON." Natalia grumbled, walking to the front of the room to receive more water balloons. The floor was already covered with puddles of cold water, in which she didn't even bother to step over. Whoops, wet clothes. c:

CONTROL THYSELF. Be gentler.

"Aquatraxi Gravita." A small-sized bulge formed as a result this time. "Oh come on.." Natalia muttered to herself. "That looks pathetic!"

"Aquatraxi Gravita!" Wait. Why didn't anything happen? COME ON. WORK SPELL, WORK! Natalia had done this before, she could do this again.

"Aquatraxi Gravita!" SPLASH. ARE YOU SERIOUS. Natalia wiped the water off of her face in slight frustration.

Figuring that Agatha, like Brooklyn, would ignore him, Adi turned to go return to his seat but hastily paused when he saw out of the corner of his eyes three water balloons rapidly approaching them. Oh, Agatha.

Adi flicked his wand to stop the balloons before they reached him "Nope, Agatha. You're not going to get me.'' With another flick of his wand, he sent the balloons whizzing back to their box where they landed gently with the remaining ones.

"I don't think Professor Flamsteed would appreciate you using his balloons for that purpose,'' he said with a wink. Dear Hippogriffs! Adi still could not figure out WHY this girl hated him so much. Not that it bothered him. Just look at the glare she was giving him! Hehe.

Toby remained patient with the kid, because it WAS hard to get used to saying all the weird Latin type words at first; some of them could be real tongue-twisters. But see! The littler Puff was getting there, and Toby nodded enthusiastically when he said it right, like 'yes yes yes that's it!'

And it WAS it. It had totally worked, and Toby beamed at the kid's reaction.

"Good job!" he told him, and he meant it too. Toby even bounced a little on the balls of his feet again 'cause he was picking up on that positive energy. "It's no problem, I'm happy to help." And... a chocolate card? Toby shook his head, still smiling. "Thanks, but it's alright; you keep hold of your card. I'll take a high five, though?" He held his hand out for one, hoping the kid would oblige.

'Cause like... that might be awkward otherwise.

Norah shifted a tiny bit closer to the green water balloon, waiting for it to twitch again but it didn't. Okay then. Take three. OR was it four? Five? Whoooo knew. She touched the leftover pink balloon guts on her nose for luck before holding her wand above her head and closing her eyes. Concentrate, Kittredge. Con-cen-trate. She imagined she was the real moon with its big gravity strings pulling the ocean blankets over beaches all over the place. Gravity gravity gravity she was gravity. "Aquatraxi Gravita!" She brought her wand down for a tap, missed her head, and landed on her ear. Ahem. No breaking concentration. She lifted her wand again and said, "Aquatraxi Gravita" with a tap ACTUALLY on her head this time.

Her eye lids flew open and she stared at the little green water balloon. "Here goes nothing" She inched her purple wellies closer to the balloon with two squeaky shuffles. Norah was willing to bet if the little green balloon had a face it'd look like it was trying really hard to make a decision. WAIT. What if she got her quill and drew a happy face on it so it'd definitely choose to move for her? MAN. That was good thinking. She leaned back over her desk and dipped her quill in ink before bending over to lift the balloon except instead of letting her it started to roll in the opposite direction. "Hey!" She took another step forward and the balloon kept rolling. Walking faster now, she chased the balloon with her quill held high until it rolled right into the leg of a desk aaaaaand exploded. Aww MAN. It didn't even have a face yet.

The fourth year squatted to pick up the bright green balloon guts and placed another little sliver on her nose in remembrance of how BRAVE the faceless and nameless balloon had been. At least the spell had worked though, right?

Alright, so now that the spell was all practiced and the wand movement was simple enough on it's own, it was time to get to it! Which meant going ahead and grabbing a water balloon from the lot of them. Zander didn't really pay much attention to which one he grabbed and then walked right back to where he had been working. Oh. It was rather big... Which meant it'd pop a lot easier. But, y'know what? He'd be super careful.

So time to put the magic to test, right? Right. "Aquatraxi Gravita!" he tapped his head and waited a bit. Was he suppsed to feel anything because he definitely did not feel anything. Time to test it then, maybe? Setting the balloon on the ground Zander began marching away, rather carelessly at that. Once half way across the classroom he turned to notice his water balloon was exactly where it had started. Ahem.

Once more then, "Aquatraxi Gravita!!" This time the concentration thing was SO real. Zander was going for gold. He was going for the win. He was going for the water balloon to ACTUALLY follow him around thank you very much!!! And so again he set the water balloon down and began walking around. HA. It worked. HEH. Zander: 1 Ballon:2 0

Smirking smugly at Torie, Jay tilted his head. HA. He'd won. His eyes went to Toby when he told him good job, and he bounced on the spot. Oh, this was soooo coool! He beamed at him asking for a high five instead and gave him a high five that seemed to be loud enough to reverberate through the whole castle. "COOL!" Oh, this was so awesome now he knew how to do it! DID YOU SEE THAT, PROFESSOR INK BLOT?

He growled low and wanted to stomp his foot, the charm wasn't working! It was his first time using the wand and it wasn't working! Maybe grumpy wandmaker had given him the wrong one... "Aquatraxi Gravita" he said hitting himself good on the head now and it still didn't do it. What was he doing wrong??? He glared at the water balloon on the floor when it didn't move towards him. Not cool. Nope. Not until he could do it too!

Peering at the older girls notes, Marsh took down her own notes writing down the spelling of the charm. Listening to the others around her she took a few minutes to hear the million ways they were saying it … Aquatraxi Gravita… WHICH WAS RIGHT? “Thank you…” she said softly, grinning. ”Oh! That’s a fantastic idea. Thank you so much.”

Right, the girl was totally right. Just like Aunt Autumn said, pronounciation was important. Right. Right.

“A-Qua-Tra-Xi Gra-Vi-Ta… Aqu-Atra-Xi Grav-iTa..” She frowned. ”Aqua-Tra-XI Grav-Ita… Aqua-TraxI Gra-Vita….” SIGH Why did they all sound so wrong? ”WHY is this so hard?” Her hands fell onto the desk as she sighed loudly. Which syllables were meant to have the most pronunciation again?

Ah. Finally. Magic time.

Jotting down the bits that he didn't already know - the upside to his mum being interested in Astronomy is that he'd basically grown up understanding all these things - Benzi hurriedly got up to grab his balloon and have it ready next to him. You know, just in case Noel actually followed through with his silent threat to throw his water balloon at him.

We're watching you, Noel Wallace, and we're ready.

Anyways.

"Aquatraxi Gravita," he practiced first, shaping his mouth around the spell. "A-qua-traxi Gravi-ta," again. It made sense to him. Aqua and Gravity, yes. Once more with passion, "Aquatraxi Gravita!" Okay, now with his wand.

This one was a little cutie. Eden loved first years. So FRESH and CUTE and just adorably ignorant about everything, but in such a charming way...heh. And this one was no different.

Eden didn't mind helping.

She pointed her wand at her head and cleared her throat. "Aquatraxi Gravita!" she cried. And....nothing. Well. She glanced at the other girl. "I think it's hard for everyone...just keep practicing. You'll get it, okay? Don't give up..." and she shot an encouraging smile at the younger student and wanted to keep encouraging her...so...she tried again, but half heartedly, just so that it wouldn't work, and then winked at Marsha. "See? I'm having a hard time, too--" And she would try again...and...hopefully get it?

"Aquatraxi Gravita!" she cried again, pointing at her head, and then...as she squirmed around in her chair, the water balloon moved with her..."Seeeee? SEE? You got this. Go on, try again." SMILE.

Tapping firmly on one head was not a thing that came naturally to a person. Especially a person with thick arms. Like him. Not that he was complaining of course, because HELLO EVERYONE CHECK OUT THE GUN SHOW, but it did make things a tad more challenging.

He'd just have to put more wrist movement into it. Gently, Benzi placed the balloon on the floor. "Aquatraxi Gravita!" he said clearly, and tapped his head smartly. Ouch. Glancing down, he eyed the balloon that hadn't moved.

Perhaps it was TOO far? Leaning down to move it a little, the balloon suddenly JUMPED the small distance between it and his hand and BURST. ACK!COUGH!SPLUTTER!OOPH WATER IN EYES. ... Straightening his back, Benzi shook his head from side to side and wiped the water away, coughing a little more to get the water he'd accidentally inhaled out of his lungs.

Plus side - the spell had worked! Downside... well. Yes. T'was refreshing though! Another balloon!

Still huffing, Marsha had gone to get herself a balloon so that she could practise once she had figured it out. Maybe she could ask Eden again, Aunt Benny had nothing bad to say about her after all… Hmm.

Okay. You got this.

She sat down with her balloon, cradling it on her lap as she tried one more time. ”Aqua-traxi Gravi-Ta.” Nope. Is still didn’t sound right.

OH! Loook. Eden was being lovely and helping HER without her asking for it. GRIN.

Concentrating, she watched Eden try (and fail) to get her balloon to follow her movements. However, she did hear how it was meant to be said.

Aquatraxi Gravita…

Right!

“Aquatraxi Gravita. Aquatraxi Gravita. Aquatraxi Gravita.” She repeated over and over to herself as she watched Eden trying a third time. OH! IT WORKED! HOW COOOOOL WAS THAT!

With a big grin on her face, Marsha repeated the spell again and looked at Eden again, silently asking if that was the right pronunciation If she had it right - she was totally going to start trying to make the balloon move.

HOW AWESOME..

Angel now had to try and get this spell to work. She had the wand movement down and she had the incantation down, now all she had to do was get a water balloon to pop and probably soak her, well that wasn't nice of her head of house was it but she wasn't complaining it would probably be fun.

Angel did the Wand Movement, and whilst doing that she did the incantation. "Aquatraxi Gravita!" Angel looked at the balloon... nothing happened well that was no good. "Aquatraxi Gravita!" Angel pouted when once again nothing happened, seriously why was this spell so hard, she was a fourth year after all, surely she should be able to do this.

Going to the front of the classroom, Benzi grabbed TWO water balloons for good measure. One to practice making it its little pet and the other for.. for reasons. Yes.

"Right, let's do this," he mumbled as he placed on balloon on his desk - STILL EYEING YOU WALLACE - and the other on the ground, CLOSER to him this time so that a repeat of what happened before wouldn't happen again.

"Aquatraxi Gravita," he cast on himself, and frowned when the water in the balloon only sort of.. sloshed around. Hmpf. "Aquatraxi Gravita!" he cast again, a little more force this time, and GRINNED when the ball rolled towards his foot.

Oh wait. He didn't particularly want wet feet. Benzi shifted to the side. The balloon rolled towards him again. ACK. Shifting again, this time moving at a right angle to the balloon, he watched with fascination as the ball changed its course and came STRAIGHT for him. He HAD GRAVITY. LOOK AT HIM. All he needed was a magnetic field and he'd be earth itself.

SPLAT. Oh. Right. He was supposed to have run away. One could play a game of tag with oneself using this spell, as sad as it was. Oh HEY. Could they do this to other people? Because an idea just came to him. Benzi raised his hand."Professor, does this spell work if I tap someone else's head? How about an object? Or an animal?" Oh yes, Benzi had ideas. Cue slow smirk. Hehe.

Eden stood up and had fun walking around her desk in a ciiiircle...because the the balloon was following her around like a little pet. It was kinda' cute. Eden wanted to name it..

But what?

She looked over at Marsha and nodded. "YEP. You GOT IT!" she beamed over at her and gave her a thumbs up. She then jogged around her desk--kind of tiring, but Eden could use the exercise anyways. "And the wand movement--you just need to point at your head!"

HEHE. It was a cool spell.

"Aquatraxi Gravita! Aquatraxi Gravita!" That was enough yeah? Yeah. Besides, he was dead confident that his spell was gonna o well.

Not that he wasn't confident in himself usually but--

Did Adi just call Agatha his ballerina wife? LOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

For the second time in this class, Grayson lost it. MAN, it was worth it because look at the expression on Agatha's face! Priceless. Dude was happy and would have even hugged Adi -- surprising, right? -- if it wasn't for the fact that the the dude was currently soaked. High fives later? 'Course!

Letting out a last little chuckle, the Slytherin shook his head and went back to concentrating on boring stuff, like the spell they needed to be carrying out. "Aquatraxi Gravita!" he called, tapping the top of his head. Now he just needed to position himself closer to that water balloon over there and see if it bulged towards him. The boy stood, even taking little shuffles closer towards the water balloon but...........

.............. nothing. Great.

This spell was freaking stupid.

Angel decided it was time to try and get this balloon to follow her even if she had to get wet... though she hoped nothing would get ruined, if her shoes got ruined the Professor would be buying her new ones. "Aquatraxi Gravita!" Angel tapped her head with her wand and watched as the balloon started to come near her...

*eek*

She had gravity right! How awesome was this! Now all she had to do was avoid the balloon like it was the plague or something like that but every-time she moved the balloon followed her, this was going to be so much fun right.

Angel watched too long as the balloon followed her and she got her feet wet as the balloon popped as it touched her shoes... though she didn't care as much as she thought she would, she wanted another go.

OKAY OKAY SHE WAS DOING IT!! Rowan kept walking around the room, but if she walked too fast it stopped following her...

Maybe her spell wasn't strong enough. She took out her wand again and tapped herself firmly on the head. "Aquatraxi Gravita!!" Ouch. But it had WORKED!!

The balloon SHOT towards her and splashed up against her ankles. She giggled a bit and looked around the room... maybe that was a bit too strong? How was she supposed to regulate it?

Grumble grumble grumble.

The boy tried again and again but the spell STILL wouldn't work. He even had the urge to throw the water balloon somewhere and be done with this but........... nah! Something like that could be saved for later. A proper water balloon fight was gonna happen. A magical one too because that would be a LOT cooler.

Yeah alright spell then.

Grayson gave the water balloon a look before straightening up again. Concentration and confidence levels were at an all time high -- which was saying something -- as he reached up and held his wand up above his head. "Aquatraxi Gravita!" Tap! It'd better freaking work this time otherwise--

HOLY MERLIN THE WATER BALLOON WAS BULGING! Grayson totally knew that he was someone to be attracted to. Obviously. It was a fact.

Smirking slightly, the Slytherin took a couple of steps backwards, watching as the water balloon inches closer and closer. This was kinda fun and all. Watching the balloon follow him around as if it was some sort of extremely dedicated fan. He let it follow him, dodging this was and that to avoid the people he liked and giving a small nudge to the people he didn't like. Totally accidental, mkay?

SPLAT!

OH FOR MERLIN'S SAKE.

Grayson looked down at the shattered water balloon and then over at his his wet wellington boots and then back at the water balloon again. Maybe he shouldn't have stopped so suddenly, causing the balloon to collide with his boots. Still, he was NOT a happy snake.

OKAY!

So, she had the spell down so she set the balloon on her desk in front of her as Eden continued to jog around both her own desk and Marsha’s. Okay. She had this. Tap her head with her wand and say the charm which, according to Eden she was saying right. Cool.

Taking a deep breath, she concentrated on making the balloon come towards her as she said the charm once again. It didn’t move. Frowning slightly, she made sure she was pronouncing the charm right and tapped her head while CONCENTRATING. ”Aquatraxi Gravita” This time, the balloon wobbled slightly but didn’t really move.

OH! ALMOST.

Licking her lips, she repeated it for a third time and grinned as it rolled slightly towards her. YES! She was getting it. Okay, okay.

Moving the balloon to the floor, she stood two feet away from the balloon. Taking a deep breath and ignoring everyone else in the room, she said firmly; ”Aquatraxi Gravita!” and it rolled straight towards her and straight onto her pink wellies. Oops! She was supposed to move out of the way, right? Like Eden was doing. Whooops. Although - at least she hadn’t still been sitting down, that would have done straight towards her face! She’d have been soaking wet if she hadn’t thought to follow the older students suit. THANKS O' WISE ONES!

She moved to the front of the classroom and got another balloon and once again placed it on the floor. Deep breath. Concentration. Tap on the head. Charm….. THE BALLOON MOVED.

WHHHEEEEEE.

Giggling, the red-head stepped to the left and stepped to the right and watched the water in the balloon follow her. Just like Professor Airey had been saying! Just like the earth and the moon. HOW COOL WAS THAT?

Next, she took a step backwards and it rolled after her. Whhheee. She took a few steps to the side and then forward and back doing a sort of square dance to see if her spell was actually going to keep working.

”Um, Professor Airey?” She continued moving just so the balloon would stay in the bubble. ”How do we stop the… gravity-thingie… without bursting the balloon? Is there a way to?” She would rather not burst it. She would rather stop and then re-use it so that she could practise… Help?

Abby saw all of her fellow classmates practising the spell and said to herself Aquatraxi Gravita and then she said out loud "Aquatraxi Gravita" Abby was dissapointed that the balloon didnt move and thought best to try again "Aquatraxi Gravita" again no movement from the balloon but she thought that there was still time to get it perfect

Recovering from his blunderous moment, Zeke braced himself and tried again.

"Aquatraxi Gravita!" he recited, tapping himself on his head. This time of course he had been VERY careful with his pronunciation and in addition to that he also ensured his intent was crystal clear. WATER BALLOON COME AT HIM!!!! Do it now!!!

Tentatively at first, Zeke moved one of his feet away from the water balloon... which made it wiggle and jiggle on the spot. Well, THAT was something, progress. Deciding to TEST THE WATERS so to speak, he inched CLOSER to it, and this time the movements become more apparent. The jiggling became shuddering and then when he was a TOUCH closer, SPPPPLLLAAATTT! On his wellington's.

Success?

He had one more water balloon, and this time he played around with CONTROLLING its movement instead.

Slowly he inched close enough to have the gravitational pull on the object, and then when he was certain he had enough force to it, he started pulling his foot away, doing a pirouette so to speak. It worked tremendously well, the water balloon followed him around in an uneven circular motion. HE WAS THE MOOOOOOON!

Abby thought it was best to try the spell again and said "Aquatraxi Gravita" and did the wand movement that was shown and saw her balloon move towards her a bit and then dropped to the floor and she sighed and thought she needed another try to make sure that she got this correct

Confident that she could do this spell without any major problems, Penelope was ready to try the spell now. Firmly tapping her head with her wand- ow, that was a little too firm. Tapping her head with her wand, Penelope said clearly, "Aquatraxi Gravita." Her balloon did not appear to be getting any closer. That was okay. You didn't always get things on the first try. She was going to try it again. Penelope tapped her head with her wand again. "Aquatraxi Gravita." Ooh look, the balloon was getting closer.

Normally Cinna didn't get easily confused but man. The sixth year could only just stare at the front of the classroom. What even? Was this some kind of advanced astronomy stuff or something? She needed a break. She time wise she had only just done her OWLs like a month ago and not this? NEWTs work that's exactly what this madness was. She thumped her head on her desk. OH MY GOD. She was just...... NOPE. She wanted to continue Astronomy again, why? To pull her hair and go bald by Christmas at this rate.


At least they were doing the activity now. She was wearing the proper clothes so she was good. The activity demonstration helped out at lot. Not really. There continued to be more staring. But she did understand the water balloon. She got up and grabbed a balloon. When she came back to her seat she practiced the incantation "A-qua-tra-xi! A-qua-tra-xi... A-qua-tra-xi... Gra-vi-ta... Gra-vi-ta... Gra-vi-ta... Aquatraxi Gravita... Aquatraxi Gravita..." There now she needed her wand.
