Post 12 - Slytherdor Launching

Alright, they could do this.

Time to hunker down and give it all they got for the last round. If it was the last round. Benny was kinda hoping the phones weren't going to be going any faster as they had to go after them. Team Benty had done it again and Cutty didn't seem like he was ready to stop loading the sling shot. If anything he was trying to be funny by summoning the balls instead of picking them out on their own.

Whatever my dear Slytherin.

Taking to his own role in the duo, Benny took aim once more, this time to a different colored phone. Ready...set...aim...HIT!!!

Loading for Ravenpuffs!!

Things were getting down to the wire now.

Lux decided that she would load another ball on the sling shot. Hopefully her teammates wouldn't think that she was taking over because she was really trying hard not to. Grabbing a ball she loaded it onto the sling shot and got it ready to be fired at one of the moving targets.

He didn't want to go with anything too typical. Nothing that had annihilate in it or doom. He felt it too uncreative. He reached into his mind for possible solutions as well as the towards his feet where the last of the balls he'd summoned earlier sat as if waiting patiently their turn to be airborne. Cutty thumped the ball against the opposite palm as if prepping for some sort of ritual.

He got into position and placed the somewhat squishy ball into the catapult, then quickly got the hell out of the way.

Those Ravenclaws weren't giving up. They were still trying, Lux the most recognizable team member participating at the moment. Oh well. Just meant the Slytherdors couldn't exactly rest on their successes at the moment. Come on Cutty...we can do this....right?

The Slytherin loaded the slingshot and Benny was ready. One could only hope he himself could keep it up and get another hit off the other team. The Gryffindor took aim...and a deep breath and let go, holding out hope as he watched to see where it went.

Oh goody...another one.

Launching for Ravenpuff - MISS

Okay.

So that was another miss. Man, she was really falling off her game. Maybe it was because this activity started to feel like it was dragging a little. "I', sorry guys!" Siiiigh.

Hopefully the next go would be a success.

H'mm...The Ravenpuffquisher? No, Team Ravenpuffquisher! Did he even want a portmanteau? He was going to keep that one on the side for now. Not dismissing it entirely, but yet not committing to it. An arrangement that Cutty sort of wished existed for people. H'mm...Maybe it could, though? :|

He went over and drew out another ball and tossed it into the air to test it's evenness and rotation, how it would travel through the air. Yes, this was a good one. He moved over quickly and placed it into the thingy what launches the thingies.

Alright Cutty...dont have to be afraid of the ball. Yes, Benny had noticed how fast his partner had moved away from the catapult after loading it the last time they had worked together to get another shot. It wasn't going to slow them down if they hunkered close together to just be able to switch between them for each of the tasks. On the contrary it could make things bad...especially if they tripped in their behavior.

Or Cutty tripped since he wasn't really moving.

Again the Slytherin was loading the sling shot and Benny then moved to respond to the task at hand left to him. No one else want to join? No. Alright. He'd do it again.

One...two...three....GO!

...

So this game was definitely more challenging than it appeared even if it seemed silly at first glance. But nonetheless she was determined to try and score because there was something gratifying about getting a point.

Except her team was up to load the slingshot right now. Placing the ball into the slingshot, she waited and crossed her fingers hoping that it was enough for one of her teammates to nab the shot.

Launching for Ravenpuff - HIT

This time Tia took the wheel and loaded the sling shot for them.

With bated breath Lux watched as it made a hit. "Awesome job, Tia!" Yay.

Tia grinned when Lux released the slingshot on the ball. "All you, girl!" she beamed at the older girl.

As she loaded up another ball and waited, in the meanwhile, summoning some more balls to keep up their trend. Because she had a feeling they would need it.

Cutty had gone over to the ball supply and this time he'd picked out three lovelies that he thought would be perfect to do the job. He tossed the first into the air, and then the second and lastly the third. All to test how they handled when projected. They felt exactly the same to one another which made Cutty think that they might have been duplicated with the Gemino spell.

He chose one of his three at random and stuck it into the instrument of mischief, he then went right over to the ball supply and chose another one. Getting behind Benny, he began to try his hand at juggling.

Had they caught up yet? Benny had really truly lost count on how many balls that been cast aside to their targets and how many had actually hit so he was at a lost. Not that it was mattering at this moment. What mattered was they were giving it their best shot and working together in doing a fun activity set before them by the two professors. The two women who had been keeping track themselves though how he didn't know.

It was so fast-paced.

Benny took the moments between launches to keep himself calm and relatively relaxed. And not too full of himself. That would only lead to mistakes and he didn't really want to let anyone down because he thought to much of himself and his successes so far. But then he was back ready to launch the latest projectile and taking aim.

Going...going...HIT!

Lux smiled at Tia and gave her a thumbs up. They were an awesome team.

The next shot wasn't as smooth though and missed the target. That was okay though. They were still doing a great job!!

No joking around, Cutty grabbed another the balls he'd taken from early and jumped over toward the machine. Quickly, he placed another of the balls into place and stood back. But not too far back. He didn't want to lose speed.

Oops, no such luck there as it seemed the two boys had swooped in and intercepted their shot. Why did this feel like it was a girls versus guys game? Or it was just coincidence right now.

Nonetheless, the fifth year took the opportunity to get the next shot loaded. She carefully loaded up another ball into the slingshot and waited....

Holding her breath, Lux watched as the ball soared through the air and made connection with one of the targets. Now that was much more like it.

She jumped up and down and waved her hands in the air like a crazy person. Woooo.

Slytherdor: Launching

A petty thought manifested in Cutty's mind. What if they finished the other team off and he never got the chance to even try to aim for a student? Couldn't really hurt them, right? It was only a softy, squishy ball.

Moving up to the launching area he helped himself and set off a soft ball in the direction of Mancini. He needed to talk to her anyway. This was just one of his many brilliant ways of getting the attention of a female.

TakemetotheBurrow 06-30-2015 09:46 PM

Moxley was impressed with how quickly the tide seemed to be turning, especially when Mr. Mordaunt jumped in to help out Slytherdor. Still, Ravenpuff weren't exactly going easy on them so it was going to come down to the last second. SPEAKING of, Moxley glanced down at her watch and then over at Tiara. With a smile, she then stopped the movement of the remaining cardboard cutouts and whistled, calling attention to the group.

"DODGE BALLS DOWN! TIMES UP!" Hehe! Moxley grinned and then approached the back of the room where all the action was. "Both sides did a brilliant job, though there was one clear winner..." Dramatic paaaaause. "Ravenpuffs take the win with twenty-seven cell phones down to Slytherdor's twenty-one! Congratulations to both sides for a well fought battle!" Seriously, they'd worked hard.

"Professor Tanner and I hope you enjoyed today's lesson and once you've packed up, you're free to go! Ms. Valentine, you may collect your tacos on the way out!" She'd be happy to know they had gone untouched, though the temptation had been there. "Keep an eye on both of our bulletin boards for homework!"

OOC: Class has now ended! I'll leave the thread open for a little longer so people can RP leaving, if they want! Thanks for playing! <3

RavenPuff: loading.

Woot! This game was getting intense now but there was no holding back at this rate. Not when she'd built up the momentum of loading the slingshot and stepping back to wait for Lux to take the shot.

One ball in her left hand, another in her right hand, she used her right hand to carefully place it into the slingshot and waited again for Lux (probably) to take aim....

WhittyBitty 06-30-2015 09:47 PM

Oh, the game was over.

Lux smiled at her teammates and gave each of her teammates a high five. "Awesome job, guys!" She was happy to have won even though she had wanted to get some shots in for the Gryffindors. Favourite House and all. But Hufflepuff was second place in her heart and she was so happy to have won for them.

Heading back to her seat Lux began collecting her stuff. "Thanks for the awesome lesson, Professors." It had been a lot of fun and maybe she would try Angry Birds out some time. That would be loads of fun! Yep. Smiling, she waited to see if AJ had remembered about her taco. hehe.

Holmesian Feline 06-30-2015 09:47 PM

Cutty juggling the balls that he had went to retrieve was amusing to say the least. "Nice try," he mused, showing some support for the effort at the most. A nice side show to break up the repetitive motions they were both working with. Benny for himself was not even going to try. Surely he'd make a real mess of things and who knows what could happen.

Best stick to what he was doing.

However before he could take aim with the latest projectile that his teammate had set up for him, Moxley was calling it quits. Benny slowly let the band of the sling shot return to normal so nothing when flying and stepped back from the machine. As for the winner...shucks. They had caught up to what Ravenpuff had had previously but the other team had kept ahead of them. Just ahead of them. "Good game," he told his teammates as he straightened back up to his full height and then stretched. Oh it was good to be relaxed rather then super tense and alert while they were competing.

"Thanks Professors." Now to go get his belongings from where he had stashed them.

PhoenixRising 06-30-2015 09:54 PM

Leaving!!

And apparently she and Lux were so into their routine that they finally got down to a science that she nearly missed Professor Moxley's final call and close of the lesson. And they won! Beaming at the older Hufflepuff, she held her hand up for a high-five, "well played," and then looked around for her other teammates. "Well played!" Yup. They were awesome.

Pulling her back over her shoulder, the fifth year gave a polite nod to her housemates before stopping at the professor's desks on her way out. "Thanks for the surprisingly fun lesson!" She meant that a compliment, because the preconceived silly game totally made her re-consider games

For: Benny

"Sorry, mate. I needed her attention." He told Atreyu, but it was sort of the half of it. He had big plans for that one. The more he saw of Mancini, the more he realized that she'd be perfect for it. "Where'd yer lehrn to aim like that, though? Adi never said anything about yew being a sharp shooter." Actually, Adi never said much about his other friends to Cutty. This made Cutty feel as though the Pufferton was holding back. What other skill sets weren't being utilized by that school?

He'd more or less put away his things earlier, so he just had to summon his school bag. "Thanks for the game, Professors." He'd be asking Tanner more about those fadic numbers.

Wait...what was Cutty saying?

Benny turned around, his hand on his bag at his desk, as he heard the Slytherin talking, it taking a moment to realize that he was right and it was meant for him. "Its okay," he assured the other boy. As for the mention of his aim, he gave a slight shrug. "Maybe my practice in quidditch hasn't totally worn off..." Sure it had been a few years since had actually played a proper game, the training day that the ministry had run hadn't totally counted.
