Arithmancy/Muggle Studies Joint Lesson The Arithmancy classroom is ready to be filled on a sunny February morning. Frost particles stubbornly cling to the windows, refusing to be melted by the weak winter sunlight. A large space has been cleared at the back of the classroom, but there does not seem to be any indication as to the reason. Perhaps Tanner is simply in the mood for early spring cleaning, but the abundance of cobwebs makes this unlikely. Plenty of desks are crammed, rather more tightly than usual, into the front of the room to accommodate the extra students from Professor Moxley's class. You don't mind being close to your neighbor, right? OOC: Class has officially started! This was sure to be an interesting if not completely traumatising lesson. Though it was combining two things he liked: Muggle Studies and Arithmancy, it also filled him with dread. Surely they wouldn't be doing muggle mathematics today. Please. No. PLEASE. NO. Zeke reluctantly entered the classroom, taking in its appearance and all things in the room. So far, there was no sign of muggle math, but he wasn't out of the woods yet. "Morning, Professors," he greeted with a nod before claiming a seat toward the back. He did NOT want to be front and centre for this one. Nope. But what was with this space? And WHY were the house elves allowed to slack off? There were cobwebs EVERYWHERE. Legit, this was a problem. Or were they on purpose? |
Eden wasn't keen on Arithmancy. She didn't take the subject for a reason: it wasn't her forte. But Muggle Studies WAS...so...here she was, making an appearance, unsure of this class or how she would feel as the lesson unraveled. Because like....numbers? Numbers were hard. Eden didn't like feeling stupid. Not at all. The desks were practically on top of one another, and Eden had to squeeze into one. "Good day--" she nodded at Moxley and Tanner. Well, at least she new Tanner from Ravenclaw stuff. Nice lady, she was. Hmph. |
Another joint lesson and another with these two subjects together! It was rather sunny so that meant Adi's glasses were in place for this extra bright light. He bounded into the classroom, missing the cold but stopped in his tracks, his eyes widening at the sight of the cobwebs. GOSH! The things were taking over EVERYWHERE! The boy had no desire to have a repeat of what had happened to him at the Hufflepuff Barrels so he merely trudged closer to his Professors to greet them while keeping his eyes open for the webs lest he walked into some. "Hello, Professors! Need help getting rid of the webs?" He was an expert at this, you see, having used his spell work to clean the sticky things away a few times before. Hehe. .................... Now for a seat! Adi noted the tight knit setting of the class as well as the space at the back. He was quite curious about said space but he waved to Zeke and Eden before taking a seat in the second row. All they needed now were more students. |
Another combination class. Janelle was always curious to see how the professors could mix information from their different classes together and make it work. Entering the room, She briefly scanned the scene. Janelle's first order of business was the greetings. "Hello Professor Tanner, Professor Moxley." There were only a few students present so far, so Janelle gave them a general greeting. "Hello everyone." Adi got a special wave, cause......you know.......he was Adi. It seemed that the seating arrangement was a little tight......definitely not for the claustrophobic. Janelle found a seat that seemed kinda roomy and sat down. It looked like it would be a while before class started so she busied herself organizing her things. |
Toby studied both Arithmancy and Muggle Studies, so a joint lesson would be pretty convenient in a way, squishing it all into one time slot. But, at the same time, joint lessons could be difficult on the brain. You had to absorb more information sometimes, and for two different subjects. When you had problems concentrating and initially processing information, that could make things challenging. Luckily, Toby was usually up for a challenge. As long as he was prepared for likely feeling exhausted by the time the lesson was over. He headed straight for his seat by the window now, glad nobody had taken it yet, sat down, and set up his things. "Morning Professor Tanner, Professor Moxley," Toby said, and was about to say something else when he caught sight of the cobwebs. Everywhere. They were literally everywhere, all over the school. And cobwebs meant SPIDERS and Toby was LOWKEY TERRIFIED OF SPIDERS, OKAY? He deadpanned at the nearest collection of cobwebs and subconsciously rubbed his itchy ankle on the chair leg, trying not to think about the possibility of arachnids chilling out in this room. Toby gave an involuntary shiver, which turned into shifting about in his seat, then he bounced his knees and tapped his quill. Fidgeting, the usual. Of course. |
How exactly was Arithmancy and Muggle Studies supposed to go together? Muggle Studies was fun and Aritmancy made her head and heart hurt. Too much math and stuff. She really needed a Ravvie best friend. They were good at everything, yes? AJ made her way into the classroom and the first thing she noticed was the cobwebs. There sure were a lot of them. "Morning, professors." Notice how she didn't put good before that morning? She had a reason, she did. Whether it was going to be good or not would still up for debate. "Hey, you..." she said as she made her way over to the boyfriend. Everybody else got head nods. It was morning, and she already had spoken more than usual for this time of day. |
Yoongi was a bit puzzled whether or not he should go to this class or not. He did not take both Arithmancy and muggle studies but only the last. Still, what if he was to be expected for this class? He could not afford any slacking in his OWL year. As he entered the classroom he immediately took note of how crammed it was. Two class at once wasn’t that normal. He vagualy wondered what they were going to learn when he noticed the webs. Now, this Gryffindor is not afraid of spiders however he did make a noise of disgust at it. "....hello, should i hel--" He was about to offer help but Adi beat him to it and he let him. "nevermind"The guy was a prefect anyways, he could deal with some webs. He sat down at a random seat and took out his chapstick for use. |
Arithmancy meant trio time in Sophie Brown's eyes, so she hoped Moxley wouldn't mind having such a fierce group of kids banding together to knock everyone's socks off. Tanner should've been used to it, though, even with all the weird stuff that had gone on since the beginning of the term between the three. Regardless, trio time meant a lot to this Ravenclaw, so... She was going to keep making it a thing until the boys broke her heart and told her they didn't want to be a dynamite friend group anymore. The classroom set-up was strange, though, and even though she wasn't particularly claustrophobic, the desks being so close together made her antsy already. But... at least if she was sandwiched between Tobes and Zander, life couldn't have been TOO bad, could it? "I like what you've done with the place, professors," was Sophie's choice of greeting to them accompanied by a bright smile as she slid into the desk beside Tobes, ensuring that there was an open desk on the other side of her for Zander to have. Yeah, the cobwebs really brought out the whole spooky Hogwarts "we're all going to die" ambiance that it often gave off. |
Arithmancy and Muggle Studies. The former being a lot less interesting than the latter, but both just so happened to be subjects Zander was actually good at. It was like a once and a life time thing, just saying. Which, by the way, only made the prospects of having a joint lesson that much more appealing. Normally he wasn't one to like the joint lessons, but only 'cause they meant you'd have double (and sometimes TRIPLE) the information AND you'd have to jump around to different subjects on top of that. But this time, Zander didn't actually mind. Plus, he liked his Professors. So it was like a win-win... win? So he walked into the room with a small smile on his face as he walked over to greet Tanner. "Hi Professor, what's up with all the cobwebs?" There seemed to be a lot of those around lately. Maybe the castle was just going through some midlife crisis or something. Not that he knew what that even meant. The, he waved over at Professor Moxley. Yes, he was empty handed but only because if he brought an entire cheesecake for her it'd mean he'd have to bring an entire cheesecake for Tanner. And really, there was only so much cheesecake that a kid could bring to class, y'know? "Hey Professor, I'm super excited about the lesson," eh, sort of. But he was TRYING to be. And now that he had greeted his Professors, time to take a seat and woah. It sure was cramped in here. It made the whole seat decision process that much more diff-OH. Sophie Brown and Toooby. Perfect. He beamed at the pair of them and walked right over to slide into the seat on Sophie's other side. Hi friends. |
Benny didn't know what was up with these joint lessons this term. Now Arithmacy and Muggle Studies were meeting together and the sixth year was curious to see just how they fit together. Though first...he wish he knew what was up with the cobwebs, litterring the classroom as he stepped inside like he had seen elsewhere in the castle. House-elfs falling down on their jobs? "Morning Professors," he said, greeting the two women as he moved further into the classroom. Ben then turned to look at the desks crammed into the room, debating where to sit. He spotted Adi there in the second row, AJ sitting beside him on one side. However the other side was empty. The Gryffindor bit the inside of his cheek and headed over. Hey..Mind if I sit here?" he asked to cover his bases. He wasn't going to just make the assumption as they resumed their friendship. |
Arithmancy and Muggle Studies in one lesson. This was destined to be a great lesson. Even though Cinna wasn't taking Arithmancy this term she was here for the muggle studies portion of the lesson. She would just play along with Tanner in her Arithmancy lesson too. Brush up on her Arithmancy skills, if she had any. Making her way to the Arithmancy classroom, it kinda felt weird going back into the classroom after not taking the class this term. She walked into the classroom with a big grin on her face. Cobwebs? The sixth year tilted her head. Interesting. Anyway she headed on passed the two professors. "Hello, professor Tanner, Moxley." Still grinning she went on to find herself a seat. Merlin. This was a tight squeeze. Good thing there wasn't a lot of students here yet. It was relatively easy to find a seat. And easy to get too right now too. Settling down in a seat she waited for class to start. |
Lux was rather interested for this lesson, because she wasn't sure what they would be doing in a lesson that combined Muggle Studies and Arithmancy. Would it involve tacos like last time? She was hoping so, but that seemed doubtful when the class was being held outside of the kitchens... Pout. Stepping inside the classroom, she smiled at the Professors. "Hello Professor Tanner and Professor Moxley. How are you both?" Waving to her friends, she took her seat. This time she chose to sit beside Cinna. "Hey!" she said with a smile. ...But what was with all the cobwebs? Did the Professors need help cleaning them? Lux could so do that. |
How in the name of Merlin was there a connection between Arithmancy and Muggle Studies? Were they gonna be learning muggle maths? Trigonometry? Jeez, save him now. Needless to say, Grayson was quite a bit less enthusiastic about this combined lesson than he had been for the Potions/Astro/Defence combo. Anyone who knew him well enough would know the reason why. He could only hope that this would be an interesting lesson and not one that would make him wish he was still laying in bed. Stifling a yawn, the seventh year headed into the class-- What. Just........ what? Grayson squinted at the desks and the arrangement. Alright, he wasn't one to take much notice of something as boring as how close together the seats were but this was kinda ridiculous, wasn't it? Look at the seating arrangement! Jeez, were Moxley and Tanner tryna get them to get to know their neighbours or what? Speaking of the professors, he turned to them next. "Helloooooo Professors Tanner and Moxley." Cue a single nod of the head towards the two of them before the boy went to take a seat. Please, for the love of Merlin, let the people sitting near him be cool and like-- Holy Merlin, were those freaking COBWEBS?! |
Another joint lesson, arithmancy and muggle studies. Sounded interesting. What would they be doing today? Penelope smiled as she entered the classroom. "Good morning Professor Tanner, Professor Moxley." Her smile was gone as soon as she saw how close together the desks were. The claustrophobic girl did not like desks that were this close together, not at all. She needed to find a desk at the end of the row if possible. She really, really wasn't comfortable with the desks being this close together. Penelope tools seat near the front of the room that was at the end of the row. Even without a desk on one side next to her, she still felt sort of boxed in. She really didn't like how the desks were arranged. They were too close together. How long was she going to have to sit here? These desks were not good for claustrophobic people like her. No, she wasn't going to sit here any longer than she had to. Leaving her belongings at the desk that she had chosen, Penelope stood up and moved away from the desks. She would need to sit down when the lesson started, but she didn't want to stay where she felt uncomfortable. |
Norah made her way into the classroom smiling brightly on account of Professor Tanner AND Professor Moxley happening at the same exact time. That was always good news, considering they were all sorts of cool. And nice. And stuff. GOOD STUFF. "Hiiii Professors," she said as she passed, wiggling her fingers at the two adults. Big smiles, too, just for good measure. She wove through the desks until she found one right smack in the middle where she unloaded aaalll the note taking stuff, staring pointedly at her parchment because she HAD seen those cobwebs but it didn't mean she couldn't pretend they weren't there. Even meanie butt spiders weren't allowed to get in the way of how fun this lesson was going to be. |

Moxley was here and energetic as ever. She'd graciously decided not to sit on top of Tiara's desk and instead, found herself a seat just beside it. Not that she was sitting at the moment, oh no. The Muggle Studies Professor was standing at the front of the room and doing her part by hi, hello, and howdy-ing the students who'd joined them in the room. She'd even saluted Ms. Kittredge, just for good measure. Those Hufflepuffs were cuties, swear to Merlin! "That's right, kids, find a seat! Pack it on in! It's going to be a good lesson so make sure you can see up front, yeah?" Grin! They had a few more minutes before they had to start officially which was good. Meant Moxley had a bit more time to prepare herself before Tanner started in with the numbers business. |
Moxley and Tanner were teaching today. Together. Hugh wasn't exactly sure how these would correlate, but he was game, yo. After all, the likelihood that he would be philosophising in his corner was super, super high. Ahem. ANYWAY. He grinned and bounced in the room past both of the professors saluting both. That was solider speak for hey...in case they were curious. |

Angel had a funny feeling this lesson was either going to be great or it was going to be a shipwreck of a lesson, she hoped it would be first. "Hello Professors, How are you both this glor...." Angel was confused was she late? on time? in the wrong lesson? Angel just looked at her feet, there was nothing to see here right! |

WOOT! Zhenya loved a joint class! She made her way down to the arithmancy classroom where they would all be packing in for arithmancy and muggle studies. Zhenya took both of those classes, so of course she was going to attend, and love it. She walked into the oddly spaced classroom. Not a great use of space, she thought, but it must be for a reason, and Zhenya was sure all would be revealed soon enough. "Hello Professor Tanner, hello Professor Moxley," Zhenya greeted both professors with a big smile, before squeezing into a desk. |
Cobwebs. Blah. She was sick of seeing them everywhere. "Hello, professors," Heather greeted as she entered the classroom and took a seat. Fully prepared for this lesson she was, with pencils and everything. Hey, she was pretty sure this was going to be about muggle math. A subject she was absolutely horrible at, thank you very much. Hence, the pencils. Easily erasable. |
Big yawn! She hadn't really gotten that much sleep the night before because she was working on her History of Magic homework and entries. Nothing was coming to her so she was up until three-thirty in the morning. Emmylou managed to make her way to the classroom without falling asleep. The sixth year walking and smiled. Just because she was tired didn't mean that she wasn't happy. "Good Morning professors." She greeted them. She didn't know how she felt about all of these joint classes. |
