After Headmistress Truebridge has given her speech and everyone has eaten their fill of food, it's time to retreat back to the Ravenclaw Tower. While new eagles are being shown to their new dorms by prefects Banner & Aldrich, and returning eagles are planning to slip out of their robes and into pj’s, it looks like no one will be getting to bed just yet. Mr. Kitridge and Professor Tanner have been hard at work today preparing the common room for a giant house slumber party!
Plush sleeping bags in eagle colours litter the common room floor. Food and drink has been provided and set up on a nearby table by one of the school house elves. The highlight is marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers just begging to be turned into s'mores. Just be careful you don't burn yourself while roasting your mallow over the roaring fire!
Somehow your House Sponsors have beaten you up here. Dressed in his own long sleeved dark pyjamas with stars and moons on it, slippers on his feet, and a cap on his head, Leo turned to glance over at Tiara. "Is everything set for the activity?" Any minute now the eagles would start pouring in from the feast.
OOC note: The other RP threads in the Common Room will open in about 3-5 days RL time. So come join the fun in here!
James was tired of trying to find Zoe. She could find him. Yup. Now for some sleep. He walked into the common room only to find what seemed to be a giant party. What on earth....
James tried to sneak his way past everyone but instead grabbed a cookie. Mmmm chocolate...

Truth or dare, eh? Would've been more fun if the professors hadn't been there - the first dare that came to mind, she wanted CB to take, but she was certain she would've been reprimanded by the professors for it. SO. Heh. As she joined the circle, as per CB's idea, she stayed silent and hummed a little to herself, entertained by everyone and their accepting of truths or dares, and then when a new little first year, Kate, posed an offer, Soph's hand SHOT into the air.
"I'm in. DARE. Absolutely." And the dare was PERFECT. Hahahaaha. With the confident air of royalty, Sophie Brown removed herself from the circle and skipped right on over to Schmoop the house elf.
"Hello, sir. I know you're very busy, but would you like to dance? Dance with me? Please? Yes? It would be very helpful." She extended her hand to the little elf and, grinning massively, gave him an encouraging nod. C'MON, LITTLE BUDDY. IT WAS OKAY.
Oh. She needed to throw one back at the group - eh hem - "TRUTH OR DARE?"
Truth: Who is the prettiest or most handsome person in the room?
Dare: Eat six of Schmoop's cookies one minute!
Bambi Fleming had not anticipated... that.
There she had been at the feast - feast! let's take a moment to appreciate the awesomeness that is an OPENING FEAST! - minding her own business and generally just calmly people watching when said people started... well. She'd thought Americans were the crazy ones, but the Brits here do give her dramatic Salem gang a run for their money.
She'd stayed quiet of course. She'd luckily sat on the other side of the table so she wasn't in the way. No use in getting into arguments when she literally knew nothing about anyone. Oh, table! Ravenclaw! She was in Ravenclaw! Her parents had been right. She should send them an owl and tell them.
All too soon, it had been over and she'd quietly marched up - and up and up and up - to the Ravenclaw tower, mentally noting that just walking around this castle was going to be a regular exercise. Good. She hated getting up early in the morning anyways. More climbing stairs, less running! Bambi was definitely up for that.
She was looking forward to getting to know the girls in her dormitory and was about to do just that when- SLUMBER PARTY. Laughing with delight, the seventeen year old hurried after the rest of the girls until she found the seventh year dorm and quickly changed into her PJs. She took a moment to marvel at the silvery view outside her window before she was rushing back down to join the party, taking the stairs two at a time.
Grabbing a cookie with a napkin, she sat down cross legged and watched everyone, smiling at those who noticed her and waving with her free hand as her other was being used to eat with as few crumbs as possible. She silently tried to remember all the names being tossed around and promptly gave up. It was no use.
At the next truth or dare, she spoke up. "Hi! I'll, er, take the truth!" she grinned, and smiled apologetically at the house elf still twirling with the brunette. "Although your cookies look delicious, Mr Schmoop," she nodded. She couldn't eat six cookies though. Her face would break out, and with all her freckles it would just look absolutely horrid.
Right, prettiest person... Other than her? They were all a pretty bunch to be perfectly honest, but the her eyes landed on a small blonde child and it was a no brainer. "I think you are definitely the prettiest girl in the room," she smiled warmly, waving towards the cute little girl who's name she was pretty sure was Kate.
Right, now her. "TRUTH OR DARE ANYONE? Also, hello, I'm Bambi." Grin. Wave. Wink. Repeat.
Truth: Tell us about something you probably shouldn't have done during the summer.
Dare: Attempt to yodel!

Clara mustered up a smile and nodded. She appreciated the thought, however ... her 'normal' wasn't exactly an improvement on her current condition. Another thing she should probably do something about, but that was a job for a different time. "I will," she said, "don't worry." The healer wasn't her favourite person, but she could certainly do her job, and Clara wasn't stupid - she knew to go if she needed to.

Hey, look, Clara did have a heart after all.
Her smile widened, touched at the thought that anyone was worried about her. Eden didn't count as they were best friends - best friends were supposed to care. Of course, that didn't mean she took Eden for granted. She loved that goofball more than anything, but ... yeah, it was nice that people worried about her.
Although ..... it may have something to do with her passing out, rather than them just worrying about her in general. With a inwardly sigh, she gave both Professor Kitridge and Professor Tanner a wave and headed elsewhere.

Out of the corner of her eye, she could see the best friend ..... and she did not look happy. At all. She was, in true Eden style, glaring at Gabe with an unjustifiable amount on dislike, which was something that Clara had never truly understood. An outright lie.
For a moment she turned her attention away from him, looking to the people that were actively joining in with the Truth or Dare game. Something she probably wouldn't do ... not unless there was a truth/dare that suited her. She was doubtful. Clara was definitely not going to yodel or speak of things she regretted from the summer as they were private. Not to be discussed in front of her fellow 'claws, many of whom were strangers to her.

Her pajamas were old and ugly. Ugly old pajamas, when everyone else had lovely new ones. On seeing all the lovely new pajamas again, she forced the pout off her face and plastered an excited expression onto it instead. She decided to distract herself with s'mores. Lots of them. Nom nom nom.
As Kate waited to see who would take her truth or dare, she looked around the room to see that Corrigan had joined them. CORRIGAN! Kate had quickly made friends with the girl and smiled when she noticed she was finally at the party. "Hey, Corrigan!" Kate smiled. "Come play truth or dare!" She gestured for her friend to join them. She didn't notice anything one way or the other about the girl's pajamas. Kate was Corrigan's friend, because Corrigan was Corrigan. Kate didn't choose friends based on clothes and really didn't think to judge them.

"Maybe not," she said, but she wasn't going to venture up to a large group of them anytime soon to find out. She wondered if the professor yelling at the Slytherins at the feast was still with them in their common room. She might even be their Head of House. She nodded and then turned back to the party, just like the professor suggested.

Another house elf! With butterbeer! Butterbeer was one of Bambi's biggest weaknesses. She hated and loved it simultaneously. Scrambling up from where she'd sat down, the blonde went over to the house elf apparently known as Toddles and grabbed a bottle. "Thank you Mr. Toddles!" she grinned as she sipped a little of the drink and looked between the two house elves.

Bambi's eyes roamed over the common room during a lull in the conversation. It was very beautiful, she had to give them that. All wonderfully rich blues and bronzes, it was like a fairytale castle. Actually, exactly like a fairytale castle because technically speaking that's more or less what Hogwarts is. Hmm.
She continued to stare at the walls when she suddenly spotted a girl sitting just outside of the crowd. Hmm. She seemed to be Bambi's age, so why was she sitting there all by herself? Perhaps she was new as well? Bambi tried to catch the girl's eyes with a smile.

The next scene was something Bambi did not think she'd EVER get to live through. After the Yodeling Guy had finished, he'd shot out a dare that she'd thought no one would do because that truth was so simple literally anyone could answer it without being embarrassed. So when Professor Tanner stood, Bambi's eyes widened. And then she picked the dare. THE DARE.
The Arithmancy professor WAS DOING THE I'M A LITTLE TEAPOT. WITH THE DANCE MOVES AND ALL. She stared, frozen, at the dancing professor before collapsing in a hysterical fit of giggles. She didn't know her all that well, obviously, but any adult doing the little teapot dance was FUNNY AS NUGGETS. HOLY COW. MERLIN.
Trying desperately to catch her breath when the Professor finished, Bambi clapped for her as enthusiastically as she had for Yodeling Guy. "Professor I think you may have missed your calling!" she laughed, forgetting herself for a moment and then fervently hoping the the professor's good spirits would continue after she'd finished dancing. She didn't want to make a bad impression on her first night!

James' attention turned to the professor who said she would join in. Well she was grown up so did that mean...YES!!!! SHE WAS GOING TO DO THE DARE!!! Oh this was going to be good. He turned over onto his stomach and propped his head up on his hands to watch her do the arm movements and everything. He covered his mouth to stop himself from chuckling at the professor because...well grades and all...
It wasn't until he saw the girl across from him burst out in a fit of laughter that his own composure broke and he burst out into laughter himself. As the professor finished he looked up and started clapping as she bowed. "Bravo!" Did anyone get a picture of that?!
"You want to come join our game like Mr. Schmoop did?" she asked, and beckoned him over to the group where she retook her spot by everyone.
Toddles bows to mistress yes Toddles does. Toddles likes mistress. Mistress is kinds to lil Toddles. Mistress asks things of Toddles. Toddles joins game? Toddles likes games. "Toddles likes games." Toddled curious about game. Yes Toddles was.

Well good, she was getting a bit of applause after all, from two students in fact. "Well I certainly hope not!" she chuckled in response to Bambi, knowing full well that she had done nothing of the sort. "But I'm glad you both enjoyed watching me make a fool of myself." At least someone had!
"Alright, everyone. Grab your last s'mores, cookies, hot chocolate, and whatever else the elves have brought up. Time for bed!" They definitely needed to be well rested for their first lessons tomorrow.
Paloma continued staring around, looking for people she could talk to, or just take a glance to. This, this of being alone this year wasn't exactly so pleasant. She missed Jun a lot, and she missed talking to so many people, that of course weren't in the same house as her and some misunderstandings had happened with them. Drama, always drama. Theatre wasn't like that for her.
A few too many giggles came when Professor Tanner sang and danced to the rhyme. What a dare!
That's when she saw a girl smiling at her. She waved at her and smiled back. Maybe they could talk to her some time once at the dorms, so she started to memorize her face, and that long blonde hair.

When she spotted the wave coming from James, she stood up and walked over to stand next to him. "That Yodel was Yooddllamazing." She said, slightly hitting him on his arm as she raised her voice for a yodeling pitch, but then she sighed... "It's our last year, James..." She whispered, looking around the place as she drank her pumpkin juice.
Just then...

Sigh...
But the chocolate. The s'mores! Carbohydrates she wasn't allowed to eat at this time of night had been consumed! How was she going to get some sleep? Uh uh? She showed a pouty fishy face and nodded. "Guess it is time for bed." She whispered, looking back at James and smiling. "See ya tomorrow for lessons, big guy." And with that...she went off to her dorms, and actually meet who'd be her dormmate.

Tiara figured she may as well join in. After all, if you're going to come up with a game, you should be willing to play it, right? She moved closer to the group and interjected. "I'll do it!" This was going to be extremely embarrassing, but hopefully they'd loved her for it. That was the idea, anyways. Didn't teens like it when you made a fool of yourself? "Forgive the singing, dears. I'm not a professional by any means."
And she wasn't entirely sure she knew all the motions, either, but she'd try her best. "I'm a little teapot, short and stout. Here is my handle," she bent her arm into a crook and placed it on her hip, "here is my spout." Her other arm extended out in front of her, bending her hand into a spout. "When I get all steamed up, hear me shout. TIP," she began to bend, "me over and pour me out!" She finished the song with a flourish, bending so the spout almost touched the ground. Wait, wait, wait... The professor was taking on a dare?! That was so awesome! Kate loved a professor that would be strict when she needed to but a joy to be around all the same. She grinned in anticipation and watched the professor sing and dance. When she was done, Kate clapped lightly at the bow. Kate was really glad Tanner was one of the professors assigned to the Ravenclaws! It made little eleven-year-olds feel not so frightened about going away to school.

"Thank you very much," Bambi winked, "Kate, right?" After this little conversation, Bambi most definitely needed to remember this cutie pie's name, and she wanted to make sure she wasn't memorising the wrong one.
"You're welcome," Kate answered. Nodding, she added, "Yeah, I'm Kate. Kate Addison." Wow! She hadn't really expected to be called the prettiest girl in the room, especially by an older girl. She couldn't wait to write home and tell her mom about that one!

Seconds later, the party had come to a close. Kate thought they'd be sleeping here, but even she had to admit that she was ready for her bed. Her new bed, since this was her first night in it and all. She finished off her snacks and put them away. "Thanks for the party," she told Tanner and Kittridge. "Goodnight, everybody."
She motioned for Corrigan and Janelle to join her in leaving if they wanted to. After all, they were new dormmates!
