Transfiguration 1: Human Transfiguration

It was that time of the year again. You had to be up at the crack of dawn and for some of you even before that if you want to get something to eat before your transfiguration class.

As usual the classroom is spotless and the air is cool and crisp. Professor Bellaire as customary is standing at the front of the class waiting for you all to enter.

Today there are mirrors placed neatly around the classroom, one for everyone.

You know the rules, enter and wait for class to commence.

ooc: Please make yourself familiar with the clasroom rules before posting in class. Happy RPing!

WhittyBitty 01-21-2015 01:01 PM

Yaaaawn.

Why did Professor Bellaire insist on having her lessons so early? Lux could still be in bed right now, but instead she was making her way towards the Transfiguration classroom. At least she had eaten and made sure her wardrobe was immaculate. The last thing she needed right now was to get in trouble for the way she looked.

Entering the classroom, she saw that she was the first student to arrive. Huh. That was a first. "Good morning, Professor Bellaire." Now to wait for others to arrive and for permission to take a seat. While waiting she noticed all the mirrors but didn't want to inquire into them in case the Professor said something mean.

Kolyander 01-21-2015 01:08 PM

It was early.

Maybe a bit to early but unlike most Hady had been up. The young girl was dressed and finished with breakfast by the time most people had even made it out of bed. She hadn't been able to sleep well once again but it didn't really matter as long as she got done what needed to be done and in the end she always did.

Stepping into the Transfiguration room Hady noticed two things all the mirrors which she ignored assuming it was going to be part of the lesson. And Lux and the Professor were the only ones here. "Morning Professor Bellaire." She greeted quietly sending a wave Lux's way as well.

FearlessLeader19 01-21-2015 01:13 PM

His stomach was full and he wasn't at all sleepy despite having to be up so early today. It was going to be a great day, Adi just knew it! As usual, he paused in front of the Transfiguration room to neaten himself. Straighten the robes and badge, flatten the hair. Right! He was ready.

"Good morning, Professor Bellaire,''
he said cheerfully. There were smiles for Lady Lux and Hady as he stood by a desk not far from his fellow Puff. Oh! Mirrors! The Badger's curiosity was high as he tossled his hair a bit. It had been too neat.

2111jen 01-21-2015 01:26 PM

Goodmorning professor" domino said as she walked inside.
She looked inside and saw mirrrors. Well, a nice change from cats huh?.

oh its Erik ok 01-21-2015 01:34 PM

It was true. You had to wake up really really early if you wanted to get some food before class. But Dante did since he did not want his stomach making funny noises in class. Queen Bellaire would not like that. It was probably true.

"Hello, Ma'am"

Dante said walking inside. Huh, mirrors. Dante did not really want to look at his reflect. Not much to see from the 12 year old. Whatever. No sitting for Dante yet. He waited until told to by Bellaire. See he was getting use to somethings already.

Only took a year.

Hera 01-21-2015 01:53 PM

As much as he disliked early morning, he was rather fond of food, so with a tummy filled to the brim, Zeke sauntered into class. Much like most other times, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary, and Professor Bellaire was there as usual. "Good morning, Professor!" he beamed before making his way passed and seating himself in the second row.

Mirrors huh?

What were they transfiguring mirrors into?

After a short moment of contemplating the possibilities, Zeke unpacked his textbook and writing implements, his wand too was taken from his holster and placed on the desk. He was ready and rearing to go!

Saz Hale 01-21-2015 02:06 PM

Abby entered the Transfiguration classroom and said "Good morning Professor" Abby took a seat in the middle of the class

Holmesian Feline 01-21-2015 02:16 PM

After a quick bite to eat and then making sure he was presentable for Bellaire's standards, Benny made his way up to the transfiguration classroom. Here's to hoping they'd actually be doing something that interested him this time around. Maybe one of the more advanced spells he's seen in that book he found in the library. Those would certainly be a fun chance of pace in this subject area.

"Good day, Professor," he greeted politely as he entered the room and noticed her there as usual. The fifth year then moved to an empty desk near Adi and stood to await permission to sit. He greeted his best friend with a simple nod of his head not wanting to bother the professor.

More people were coming in, and Lux waved to Hady and Adi as they entered the room shortly after. At least she hadn't been alone for long.

Spotting Zeke and Abby, she sent them waves before staring wide eyed as they both took seats. Ummm, didn't they know the rules by now? Neither of them were new. "Ummm, guys...you aren't supposed to sit down yet." You know, friendly advice and all. Best to stand again before Bellaire could sink her claws into them.

Huh?

Huuuuuuh?

What?

... Zeke hopped up IMMEDIATELY... as if his seat was on fire.

Why not? Did he miss a memo?

"Sorry....?"he looked at Lux, all confused like.

Ginevra 01-21-2015 02:29 PM

Cilla entered the classroom and said, "Good morning, Professor Bellaire." Cilla then headed for a desk (waving to Lux, Adi and Abby on the way) and stood beside it until she was allowed to sit down.

Weasley174 01-21-2015 02:34 PM

Angel walked into the classroom and smiled as she polite said. ""Good morning, Professor Bellaire." Angel suddenly realised her sister Abby was already sat down and she tried to give her one of those looks that told her to stand down.

Angel gave Benny and Adi a quick nod and then she went over to her own seat and she then waited to be allowed to sit, she wondered what they were going to do this lesson.

Uncle Moose 01-21-2015 02:39 PM

Too EARLY! Aegis came into Class his Hair not even made up to look all spiffy and cool and up and stuff. It was just straight and down. He had not realized that this Professor would do this to them. He sulked into the Class shoulders sagging and his feet dragging. "ornin' Professor" he managed to utter before finding a nearby desk...
...Oh a Mirror! Maybe yet there was time to fix his hair! Aegis hurried over to one and whipped out a Comb from his sack and started to aggressively strike at his Blondeness upwards!

Hera 01-21-2015 02:49 PM

Awkward, this was all AWKWARD. It took him a moment, but it DID hit him eventually.

...

EVERYONE was standing... and that was cause of the new rules thing. Right right riggghhhttt... it was hard though, not having to do it in other classes, and not having had to do it last year. Poooop.

Zeke pushed his chair in, and stood, waiting, an apologetic shot toward the Professor.

MASSIVE WHOOPSY DAISY. Yep. Chalk it down to his enthusiasm or something. Eager Lion.

littledhampir 01-21-2015 03:03 PM

Early. That was the only full word Hayden was able to form, even just in her own thoughts. It was really early. She wasn't yet used to waking up so early. Transfiguration was always the earliest class, why was that? She hadn't gone to get breakfast because that would have meant waking up even earlier. Luckily, the early hour meant that she was too tired to think about food yet. But she knew that her stomach would be growling sometime later in the class.

"Good morning Professor Bellaire." Her words were softer and not quite as cheerful as her usual speaking voice, but she was impressed that she managed to get the words out of her mouth. She even smiled before moving completely into the classroom. Now she just had to wait for class to start before she could sit.

SweetPeea 01-21-2015 03:13 PM

Oh Merlin...

It was time for a class that she wasn't fully strong with. Not to mention a Professor that she was very afraid of. Not that she would ever say such a thing out loud..

Never..

Josette made sure that her uniform was all proper & neat, along with her hair being perfect before entering the Transfiguration classroom. Just as she was doing so was when her blue eyes went straight to Professor Bellaire & she felt her heart begin to race a bit. She quickly shook her head trying not to look so fearful before she spoke to the Professor. "G-Good morning Professor B-Bellaire..I-I hope you enjoyed your s-summer.." She smiled softly before turning to find a seat towards the front middle of the class. Placing her books down on her desk, she made sure to follow suit with everyone else in the classroom & stood behind her seat waiting for permission to sit down. She'd made that mistake once when she was a first year & she was certainly not going to let it happen again.

Finally her students were starting to arrive..and in droves too, which was good because she really was not in any sort of mood to deal with late comers. Each student received a nod and a good morning, along with the customary once over to ensure that everyone was dressed appropriately and looking like they put some effort into their appearance.

Oh what?

Sophia's side eye glare was too strong, so strong that the second year got his butt out the chair before he needed to be reprimanded. It was that or another student saved him. Well he got thank his lucky stars for that.

"Yes, good morning all..good morning. My summer was fine thank you very much"

She could start putting the notes on the board now.

Transformation is divided into three sub-types:
Human Transfiguration
Switching
Vanishment
She highlighted the words 'Human Transfiguration' and waited for the others to arrive.

Govoni 01-21-2015 03:53 PM

Hey. Hi. Hello.

Hoping to have a much better experience this term in Transfiguration than he had previously, Gabe entered the classroom and kept his head down. If he couldn't SEE the intimidating professor, he couldn't get preliminary nerves. And this went for his peers, too. He could mind his own business and get on with the learning aspect...as he'd only accomplished an 'A' on his OWLs. Gabe expected better of himself...He wanted to do better.

Locating his seat, he went and stood, remaining silent...only bothering to look up when he heard something being written on the board.

Note-taking sense tingling, thank you. Could he sit and...get started on that?

Buggy-Boo 01-21-2015 03:56 PM

Margo bounced in! She was excited, she loved Transfiguration, she was just okay at it, but she liked!!!

Margo saw the Professor. Kace had warned her that manners matter in this class, so being very careful not to do anything out of the ordinary, Margo took a seat and looked up at the board. "Hello Professor" Margo said not nearly shouting like she usually was.

Human Transfiguration, Holy Merlin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Margo's face split into a grin the size of Hippgogriff!!! This was going to be great.

Daemon 01-21-2015 04:33 PM

It was time for Bambi's No. 1 favourite subject on the planet. She's gotten up at a truly ungodly hour, went for a jog, came back to shower and quickly wolfed down some breakfast before she made her way to the classroom. She couldn't afford to be sleepy during Transfiguration, and a refreshing morning run was just what she needed for her energy to kick in.

Hair done up in a neat ponytail, she made her way across the room and stood by a seat near the window. Early morning light was very good for her brain cells. She nodded to Professor Bellaire then looked to the board for the lesson topic.

Cue WIDE GRIN. Because a) she knew that, and b) YES YES YES YES YES.

PhoenixRising 01-21-2015 04:56 PM

She was not late. At least she didn't think she was late. But she had an excuse for why she was not uber early either; she wanted to triple check her uniform to make sure it was decent seeing how strict Bellaire was in regards to appearances.

Entering the classroom, Tia noted all the mirrors around the classroom and then the professor standing at the front having already written the topic on the board. Human transfiguration. They were going to be learning about animagi! This would make the conversation easier.

"Morning, Professor Bellaire," Tia greeted as she went and stood somewhere in the middle. Because apparently no one else was sitting, so permission had not been granted to sit yet.

Lissy Longbottom 01-21-2015 04:57 PM

HUMAN transfiguration? OOOOOOOOH.

Caleb wasn't too keen on heading to this class - after all, he wasn't the biggest fan of Bellaire after that house meeting - but he wasn't stupid and knew that he had to start sucking up and being a good little prefect if he was ever going to get ANYWHERE in this class. He could tell that was what they had wanted...for them to just nod along and agree with their every move. And for now, since no one was getting screamed at...Caleb could do that.

"Good morning, Professor," he said politely with a smile, taking a seat in the FRONT for once. He didn't even have to pretend to be excited for this, really - human transfiguration sounded so exciting! AND probably something covered on the OWLs. Win win!

RandomRaven 01-21-2015 04:57 PM

Clean and free-from-wrinkle uniforms? Check.

Clean and manicured nails? Check.

Polished kitten-heel oxford shoes? Check.

Neat ponytail? Check

Bianca then stepped into the Transfiguration classroom. Though transfiguration wasn't her favorite and neither was Bellaire, she had to come because she needed to achieve a good grade for her Transfiguration NEWT. She wasn't late, was she? Okay, she's not late. Bellaire was already there. She was not a person who liked to kissing the professor's butt and Bellaire was not a nice person so.. why in the world she had to ask about her day or any kind of those question? The brunette girl just smiled and greeted her politely. "Good day, Professor." Then she walked to the her favorite desk and stand beside it. Yes, standing. Because Bellaire didn't permit the students sat before the lesson started.

She stared at the board and noticed that Bellaire had written about human transfiguration. Were they gonna learn about how to be animagus?

Human Transfiguration! Adi's eyes widened slightly and his lips twitched as he shot a sly look in Benny's direction. Hehe.

The boy's attention was taken next by little Margo as she made her way into the room. She looked so excited and Adi couldn't blame her. But uh oh... She had sat down.

"Pssst. Margo,'' Adi whispered to her. "No sitting until the Professor says so.'' She was new so... yeah.

itsjustjesse 01-21-2015 05:08 PM

Early mornings like this weren’t fun, especially when they were with the Professor you had to be on your toes with. Yes, she was going to be extra careful around Professor Bellaire considering her particular affinity for the torture chamber…even if she wasn’t a fan that her friend had been in there to begin with considering the time didn’t fit the crime…still she did understand that Ror was…out going, crazy, like a spitfire ball of energy…obviously, she was in the wrong house.

“Good morning Professor Bellaire,” Puck gave the Professor a little nod before she made her way into the classrooms all while making sure that her uniform was neat, tidy, not a hair out of place…yes she probably looked like she was school girl Barbie…mint condition…in box. Yep. Perfect.

She did watch at the notes appeared on the board and grinned. So were they learning how to transform themselves today? Puck wondered amused at the idea.

DuckyLinJi 01-21-2015 05:11 PM

There HAD to be another time for this lesson than the crack of dawn! Couldn't she change the schedule or something? He'd rather have another class after dinner than getting up early.

Still, he was here not bright and yawning but still here. He entered the classroom and was too tired to get in to trouble now so he had made sure his uniform was on right , was adjusting his tie as he walked past the Professor and gave her a nod. "Hello"

Then he found a desk somewhere in the middle of the class and stood next to it before he looked at the board. Oooooh HUMAN transfiguration? Now that was interesting!

Hey Ju 01-21-2015 05:29 PM

Agatha walked into the classroom looking very solemn, because she knew her uniform and hair and all of her was completely clean and neat. Luckily Transfiguration was early in the morning and not in the afternoon. If this lesson had been the day before right after lunch, Agatha would be doomed, thanks to Peeves and his bloody tomatoes.

Anyhow, she was perfectly groomed that morning, and gave professor Bellaire her most polite smile. "Good morning, professor." She said before looking at her classmates to decide who she'd stand next to. No one called her attention so she chose a random place, far from the stupidest kids.

MuggleDinosaur 01-21-2015 05:31 PM

Yaaaaaawwwwwwnn!

Emmylou rubbed her eyes as she walked into the classroom. She hadn't slept good last night but she had went to bed early so there was still no excuse for her to be tired. She was going to try her very hardest and focus on Transfigurations because the class was interesting but she also didn't want to hear Bellaire yell at her if she accidentally fell asleep so there was some motivation for her to stay awake.

Honestly eight in the morning was a horrible time for any class whether it was her favorite class or not to start. Now the perfect time would be eight thirty or nine in the morning. Those were the perfect times ever. Emmylou looked over at Professor Bellaire and smile. "Hello Professor Bellaire. Good Morning. How are you doing?" Emmylou gave her a small wave and another smile as she found a seat for herself.

WhittyBitty 01-21-2015 05:49 PM

Thank Merlin Zeke managed to get up in time to save himself from getting into trouble. Otherwise he probably would have faced point loss as well as a stern talking to from the scary Professor. The young Gryffindor seemed confused for a moment, but clearly he figured it out in the end and wouldn't make that mistake again.

...Human Transfiguration? Lux was a little surprised at hat since it was supposed to be advanced to her knowledge. Transfiguration was hard enough as it was, so this advanced stuff was probably going to make her bang her head against the desk. Speaking of her desk...could she please sit down soon?

Daydreamer11 01-21-2015 06:10 PM

Janelle arrived for Transfiguration class ahead of time. Her sister had warned her about the Professor's ways so she took special care to make sure she was neat and tidy. As she entered the room, she saw some of her friends. She smiled, but did not speak or give the usual wave. No need to get on the Professor's bad side right off the bat. Finding an empty desk, Janelle stood behind it and placed her bookbag on the floor. Hopefully they wouldn't have to stand for too long.

Win win!

The boy's attention was taken next by little Margo as she made her way into the room. She looked so excited and Adi couldn't blame her. But uh oh... She had sat down.

"Pssst. Margo,'' Adi whispered to her. "No sitting until the Professor says so.'' She was new so... yeah.

Anyhow, she was perfectly groomed that morning, and gave professor Bellaire her most polite smile. "Good morning, professor." She said before looking at her classmates to decide who she'd stand next to. No one called her attention so she chose a random place, far from the stupidest kids.

Sophia religious checked her watch every minute that ticked by. That door would be slammed shut as the clock struck 8 and zero cares would be given about who was late. It would be up to them to get the notes from their classmates and also to come up with an excuse to explain their absence to her.

"Good morning...good morning all." Smart of you to be on time. She closed her eyes and count to ten as another student came in and sat down. Hadn't everyone been made aware of her classroom rules? She really was trying to hold it together here and not go dragon because it would be quite unfortunate for the whole class if she did. So once again the transfiguration professor turned a blind eye.

Last time.

As soon as the clock struck 8:am the classroom door slammed shut and locked itself. Whoever wasn't here was going to miss class.

"You may all take your seats. Then I'll like someone to volunteer answers to these questions. Please take one question..do not answer all three." Everyone needed a chance to show their head wasn't full of air.

Evie was standing behind her chair, because had followed the rules. Also because she was mildly frightened by this professor from the things that she had heard from her brother and other students. Oh, good, they could sit now. Evie did so and listened closely. Human Transifiguration? That made her a little nervous, too.

Evie studied the questions and decided to let the others answer first while she collected her thoughts.

FearlessLeader19 01-21-2015 06:22 PM

Mercifully Professor Bellaire seemed to ignore the fact that Margo had taken a seat. The Hufflepuff probably forgot about not sitting until given permission. She'd get used to it, Adi was sure. Anyway, the door was shut and the lesson was on the way.

Adi shot Benny a smirk as questions were being written on the board. The boy was going to pay extra careful attention to this lesson. Yep! There would be a day when he turned his bestie into a dragon!

After sitting and reading each of the questions, he raised his hand to answer number three. "I read Gwenog Jones of the Holyhead Harpies would turn persons into wood lice when they disagreed with her." That was so mean of her.

RandomRaven 01-21-2015 06:25 PM

Finally the class had started and that meant she can sit down now. Thank you very much. Bianca just watched Bellaire wrote some questions about human transfiguration on the board.

Oh, the famous person in history who used transfiguration. She's gonna answer that. History of Magic was her all time favorite subject. She raised her hand and gave an answer. "Professor, one of the famous person who used transfiguration is Viktor Krum, the triwizard champion from Durmstrang. He transfigured himself into a shark at the second task of triwizard tournament in 1994, although he didn't do it perfectly." The transfiguration, of course.

WhittyBitty 01-21-2015 07:11 PM

It was a relief when Lux was allowed to sit down. It wasn't as if she couldn't handle being on her feet for a time, she just felt weird doing it for Bellaire because it felt like she was standing at attention.

Once seated, she began taking things she would need out of her bag, all the while listening to the Professor. She wasn't too knowledgeable when it came to human transfiguration, but she did know some things. Raising her hand, she decided to give one of the questions a go. "The ancient witch Circe liked to turn sailors into pigs." As to WHY she did that...Lux had no idea.

Lissy Longbottom 01-21-2015 07:38 PM

People were all answering the easy one about human transfiguration. He was going to answer that one too, but considering he was trying to get into Bellaire's good graces...maybe he'd take a chance and answer the bonus, because he was 99.9% sure he knew the answer to that one.

He raised his hand. "For the last question, I believe Gilderoy Lockhart once tried to mend Harry Potter's broken arm after a Quidditch accident, but rather than transforming the broken bone into a healed bone, he vanished it completely," he said confidently.

oh its Erik ok 01-21-2015 07:42 PM

Finally he could take his seat. Though no flopping into it in this class. Dante listened and looked at the questions on the board. Well at last she gave us options. Dante did not know who she was talking about with the fourth and fifth questions. So those were out. And he was not the biggest fan of history. So nope no historical figures. Though Bellaire was kind of famous. Everyone here knew who she was.

"Well one famous person in history who used human transfiguration is you, Professor Bellaire."

Smile. And since she was teaching them. She must know human transfiguration.

Maybe. Dante did not know. He was only a second year

Weasley174 01-21-2015 07:44 PM

Angel was glad when she could sit down and then she smiled as she listened to the Professor, this was amazing and now she was going to try and answer one of the question.

Angel raised her hand. "Didn't Peter Pettigrew, fake his own death by using human transfiguration." Angel thought that he was a famous wizard though he was a bad guy and had betrayed his friends.

Daemon 01-21-2015 07:54 PM

Bambi promptly sat, retrieving her things quickly from her bag and setting up her table for note taking. She dipped her quill in the inkwell and quickly wrote down the title of the lesson when the first question was called out.

Hmm.

She eyed number four and bit her lip. She was no expert on Hogwarts but as far as she knew there was only one Professor who dealt with Transfiguration other than Bellaire, and that was Quigley. Right, avoid question number four like the plague.

She raised her hand. "Professor, there was Thaddeus Thurkell who turned his sons into herdgehogs because they were born squibs," bright and cheery answers, as always. She remembered reading that in a book once and being absolutely horrified.

Expecto-Penguin 01-21-2015 07:55 PM

As Kace was in his seat next to Emmy, he saw the Professor's question which meant she was starting and he sat down in his seat. He remember losing points last term because he sat down in class. Bloody Merlin he knew this teacher wasn't fooling around.

The puff looked at the questions on the board and he knew one Professor who was great a transfiguration. She could turn herself into a cat. "Professor I know back in 1991 a Professor named Minerva McGonagall used human transfiguration to transform herself in a cat." She was quite successful at that too. He wished he could be an animagus sometimes.

But what did he know about history. If he was wrong he was wrong.

Felixir 01-21-2015 08:02 PM

Toby stared up at those questions as he sat there, 'uhmm-ing' very quietly to himself in thought as hands went up all around him. The first question he knew, but he was old enough that the information had been covered in class before. Three of those questions involved history, and Toby could get fuzzy on. Which left... 'Expound on human transfiguration', except... Toby didn't know what 'expound' meant. Up Toby's hand went, as he raised it into the air before properly thinking through what he planned to say.

"Human transfiguration is, like... super complicated and tricky and, like, I think it's one of the hardest things you can learn. Basically you can use human transfiguration to alter your appearance and physical characteristics. Sometimes people can transfigure themselves into animals, but I think that's way different from being an animagus, which is having an specific animal form you can learn to transition into whenever you like. And I'm not sure if being a metamorphmagus counts as human transfiguration, because technically it is but its also more of a natural ability that can't be learnt." And, uhh... he'd stop there before this turned into confused/confusing, speculative rambling. That was sort of all he knew and most of it was guesswork.

Davvy_Wavvy 01-21-2015 08:03 PM

Sophia put her hand up to get the attention of all the students there.

"Let me just add that the bonus question about the professor...is for a current professor..as in..one that is teaching at Hogwarts right now... but keep the answers coming about former professors we well."

ooc: Don't worry guys just adding this in to clarify, you will get your points for your answers in a little bit.

DuckyLinJi 01-21-2015 08:26 PM

Oh wow so no one either knew the answer to the last question or they were all just too scared to say it. Kevin wasn't , in fact, he had a grin on his face as he actually raised his hand up in the air. Something he didn't do very often. " i'd say Catman ...i mean Professor Quigley" It HAD to be. Especially after the little hint she had just given. "He's an animagus and although the cat form is good his hearing is way too sensitive" That was why the rule of silence was in the rules with that class, not to mention that he acts so not rational when someone even speaks up. Transfiguration gone wrong.

littledhampir 01-21-2015 08:30 PM

Human transfiguration. Like transfiguring parts of their body? Hayden wondered exactly how that worked. Would she be able to transfigure her arm into something and leave the rest of her body normal? She didn't know but she figured the whole point of this lesson would be about that topic and her question would be adressed. She didn't want to ask Bellaire because the transfiguration professor kind of scared her. She did wonder if being an animagus counted as human transfiguration. She assumed so, because Bellaire seemed to be hinting at that. So Hayden raised her hand.

"Professor c- er Quigley can turn into a cat."

MudInMyBlood 01-21-2015 08:44 PM

*snorts at #5* I've stalked, I have. ;)

Man, she was tired, and maybe taking her seat wasn't such a good idea for the risk of her slumping over and falling asleep on her desk. Bellaire would eat her for breakfast. Must. Stay. Awake.

Questions were already being thrown at her, and her brain wasn't registering things. How did people function this early? Hands were raising right and left and all AJ could think about was that she really should have eaten breakfast. As if on cue her stomach rumbled. Goodness.

Wait... Quigley was who she was getting at for the bad transfiguration person? But his face was so perfect. Hmm... maybe she was missing something.

Anywho, why not take a stab at it? Her hand was raised. "Transfiguration changes something completely. Like a horse into a house." Could you do that though? "And Charms is where you enhance an object instead of changing it completely." Made sense to her.

kayquilz 01-21-2015 09:24 PM

Eden had been here the entire time, standing, looking very collected(more so than usual in the presence of Bellaire) and simply winced as people.....sat. She would have warned them--but it seemed Professor Bellaire was eager to start class. SO much so that she didn't even take points away.

Rude. Eden had lost FIVE points her first time in this class last term. HMPH.

But anyways. Human Transfiguration. Those questions were...oddly worded. IT seemed Bellaire had some...hidden agendas. Hmph. Eden wiggled her eyebrows at the board and tried to think of how to answer any of them. If she could answer any of them, that is.

But she did raise her hand. "Um-well--Transfiguration is changing the appearance of an object without changing what it's made of--whereas Charms changes the matter involved in an object in some way, shape or form."

Actually, Eden wasn't sure she was right. But she said it anyways?

Holmesian Feline 01-21-2015 09:35 PM

Yes Adi, he caught that look sent in his direction once the specific topic at hand was revealed by Professor Bellaire. Human transfiguration. That was something new and interesting, though it also made Benny just a touch nervous. There was the added possibility of trouble if anything went wrong. Or perhaps he was meerly over thinking the whole thing. He would just have to wait and see.

Benny sat down at his chair when Bellaire gave them permission, carefully setting his belongings out on his desk. Parchment and quill resting in front of him for notes and such as the class was begun in ernest. He looked at the questions added to the board and wondered about what possible answers he could give to any of them. There was another look sent his way from a certain Hufflepuff.

Adi was certainly going to be enjoying this lesson.

Finally he raised his hand to try and expond on the subject matter as best he could. "Human transfiguration is the act of changing the makeup of part or all of a human into something that is like a creature or non-living." Certainly that made sense in a way. "Like the sea urchin jinx." That had been something that he had caught in his reading.

ArianaBlack 01-21-2015 09:54 PM

Okay, first of all... What was with this new standing before the class started rule all about? Word probably got out to Bellaire about the past few lessons and... Maybe she was just taking precautions or something. OR maybe it was just another weird strict Bellaire thing she was trying out. Wouldn't be the first time, actually. But anyways, this lion was starting to get real tired of just standing around until FINALLY!

Sitting. Yup. That's what he was going to do.

As he read over the questions, he had to stifle a laugh at the bonus before looking over to Kevin with a huge grin. There was only one current Professor who could turn into an animal and that was catman. Heh. And you know, he put both Kevin AND Puck in detention and that did not slide well with this kid. Nope. His best mate AND CoPrefect in crime. Blasphemy. That's what it was. But as there were only a few questions to be answered, Zander let everyone have a chance. He'd get his turn to speak up later maybe. But for now, smiling at Kevin.

TeafortheSoul 01-21-2015 10:02 PM

Well... that was hard wasn't it? Not the questions but actually knowing what they were. Ruby squinted at the board and then gave up on it, listening to other people's answers instead until she caught the gist of what was being discussed but by that time most of the answers she would have given had been said. Sort of. She tried anyway, hoping it addressed one of the questions she couldn't read at least.

Hand up.

"Anyone who eats canary creams is using human transfiguration temporarily, professor."

She did not eat those things. High sugar and fat content, and if she was going to wear feathers it would be as a fashion accessory.

hermionesclone 01-21-2015 10:26 PM

So they were doing Human Transfiguration, then?

Grayson, who had sat down in his seat once instructed to do so, raised his eyebrows. Sounded interesting, that did. And kinda difficult, too. Using these spells on other things was alright since he knew that it could be changed back if he needed to but on HIMSELF?! That was a different matter. What if he ruined his face? HELLO. This was an important issue!

And........... that gave him an idea for an answer.

Raising his hand in the air, he said, "Human Transfiguration is DIFFICULT," NEWT level stuff, he had heard. "and can go easily wrong so you have to be careful. If you get it wrong really badly, you could end up staying in that transfigured state, which doesn't sound like my idea of fun." Imagine having green eyebrows for the rest of your life?

No. Just no.

Anna Banana 01-21-2015 10:41 PM

Kate listened to the professor, her heart nearly beating out of her chest, and tried to think carefully about the questions that had been asked. This was the professor from the Start-of-Term Feast. Well, they were all at the feast, but this was the one reprimanding the Slytherins. This was the one Kate had decided on day one that she was scared of.

Kate knew she couldn't stay scared of the professor, though. Not this scared, at least. She had to take Transfiguration, and she had to participate in the lessons. That meant she had to talk to the professor at some point. Questions were being asked now, so Kate guessed this was as good of a time as any.

Raising her hand, she said, "There's a former professor named Horace Slughorn who once used human transfiguration to transfigure himself into an armchair just to avoid somebody detecting him." He ended up getting detected, too, she remembered, and that was how he came back to Hogwarts a second time.

Sararara 01-22-2015 12:15 AM

FINALLY. They could sit. Lacking her normal energy, Norah slid gratefully into her seat, pulling out her note-taking materials as Professor Bellaire greeted the class. Human Transfiguration. COOL. Of course the fact that it was cool meant she didn't know much about it, 'cause the only cool stuff she knew about were sparkles and plants and little bit about running but none of those things really applied here. UNLESS they were going to transfigure people INTO plants, but then again she didn't know how to do that either, so no. This third year really had no clue.

She considered raising a hand and taking a guess, but even though she was THIRTEEN now, it didn't stop Professor Bellaire from being totally and completely scary. So no again. Norah dipped her quill in ink--purple but not sparkly this time just in case that was against the rules or something in this class-- and busied herself titling her notes with big, curly letters as she listened to the other students give answers.

Casey O 01-22-2015 12:29 AM

Wait what.

HUUUMAN TRANSFIGURATION? Duuuuuuuuude. This class was going to be awesome ALREADY. Marigold had done POORLY on this OWL - this and CoMC - and was super sad, but that wasn't going to stop her from taking this class! See! She was smiling! And it totally wasn't strained with clenched teeth or anything!

Oh. Harry Potter era answers, especially from some firstie Ravenclaw. "Wasn't there a Professor Mawdy or Moody or something who transfigured a student into a ferret? That probably couldn't have turned out well." Unless the teacher was SUPER good at transfiguration.

Buggy-Boo 01-22-2015 12:42 AM

Margo had heard Adi tell her they couldn't sit down... jeepers she had read the rules for the class room, but guess in the confusion of all her lessons lost track of what rules went with what teachers..... Jumping up quickly, but then two seconds later they were allowed to take their seats. Holy Merlin, Margo was going to start cracking from the pressure of it all.

Listening to the Professor and then seeing the question Margo raised her hands to answer. "Professor Minerva McGonagall was an animagi and was able to transfigured herself into a cat." Margo said making sure to answer only one of the questions. She didn't need to be breaking anymore classroom rules today.

itsjustjesse 01-22-2015 12:45 AM

Puck was sitting there thinking of the history books she had just read when she glanced up and raised her hand. “Professor, wasn’t one failed human transfiguration cast illegally by then Hogwarts Grounds Keeper, and later Prefect Rubius Hagrid?” She asked as she looked up from her seat.

“The only other ‘famous’ name I can think of is this lady from the 1800s…Mirabella Plunkett who transfigured herself into a haddock so she could live with her merman lover” she offered with a grin. Really.

Fish lady. How’d that go?

Kaos.Doodles 01-22-2015 01:00 AM

Kyroh wiggled around in his seat, his hand on his desk. He wanted to answer one of the questions but he didn't even think his answer would be correct anyways. "Professor...." Hesitating a bit he raised his voice. "I think human transfiguration is like what Toby said. Altering your appearance and stuff. So...if thats the case isn't it like a Polyjuice potion? And if it is then I think Hermione Grange did Human Transfiguration wrong when she tried it." Even if it wasn't potions class the two kind of sounded the same so were they?

He wasn't sure at all.

Hera 01-22-2015 01:17 AM

Pheewwww... he'd dodged a bludger, yep, dodged it.

When Bellaire seemed good and ready, the door closed and they were finally allowed to sit down. Thank Merlin!!! Zeke gladly parked his bottom on his seat, and then copied down what was written on the board.

Human transfiguration?

...

Hand up, Zeke spoke the words on his mind. "There are people that have the ability to change their appearance at will, I think they're called metamorphs? No... metamorphmagi!" Yeah, them, they were cool. "One of the members of the Order of the Phoenix was one," but he couldn't remember her name. He didn't like History, it was hard remembering names and dates and things like that.

Grrr..Meow 01-22-2015 01:18 AM

oh goodness, this class seemed like it was going to be so hard. Everyone was being so awesome and answering the Professor's questions. Echo really didn't know what was going on so she tried to spell everything as she heard it as she wrote it down on her parchment, looking up to find the speaker every time they spoke.

Ginevra 01-22-2015 01:26 AM

Cilla sat down when given permission to. After Professor Bellaire asked her question, the young witch thought for a moment and then raised her hand.

"Hermione Granger used Human Transfiguration on Ron Weasley to aid in gaining access to the Lestrange vault."

Daydreamer11 01-22-2015 01:35 AM

Janelle had made it to class on time, barely. She made a point to leave super early for class from now on. Professor Bellaire wasted no time getting started. At least they had a number of questions to choose from. That was fortunate because Janelle was very unsure about most of them.

The answer that Janelle had was kind of in between two questions. She raised her hand and tried to sound confident. "Professor Mad Eye Moody.....well the person that was posing as him, used transfiguration to turn a student into a ferret." "He got into trouble for it too", she added. Janelle wasn't sure where she had heard that story, probably from her sister.

Kolyander 01-22-2015 01:38 AM

Finally they were given the instruction to sit down. Picking a seat Hady slid onto it setting her bag at her feet like usual. Removing her textbook, quill and parchment she set the items on the desk prepared for any note taking she knew would come.

Apparently today's lesson was 'Human Transfiguration'. This seemed like it would be a good lesson. Keeping quiet she took down her notes opting to remain silent right now.

2111jen 01-22-2015 01:50 AM

Domino wasn't really sure if the famous person was mentioned or not because she was dazing off but she decided to take a shot.
"Sirius Black used human Transfigiration Miss," She said the first name that came to mind. "When he turned his self into a dog," she added as an after thought.

SilverTiger 01-22-2015 01:52 AM

Transfiguration was on class Brooklyn always got excited about. It was never obvious, aside from her respect for Professor Bellaire, but it was there. Especially given the topic for today’s lesson, and she’d taken parchment out for notes almost as soon as she’d taken her seat. Obviously she hadn’t been about to do anything until they’d been given permission. She remembered the lecture after the opening feast. Whether or not a lot of the other Slytherins felt the need, she wasn’t about to do anything to risk losing points and putting them even further behind the other houses. Instead, she was determined to show everyone what a real Slytherin was.

She hadn’t offered any suggestions as to the question posed, however. As far as she was concerned, she’d sound worse just repeating everyone who mentioned Animagi and stuff like that. Instead, she’d just started taking notes, something she rarely ever really did. Although she’d glanced around the room once to see if the Charms professor was hiding somewhere. It seemed like an obvious choice if they were going to be taking about Animagi. Yet she wasn’t about to risk a guess about that either.

Deezerz 01-22-2015 02:08 AM

Human transfiguration, now that was interesting. It was a subject she's felt curious towards. There was a lot 'if you don't succeed you'll doom yourself' speculation, and that's most likely why she was curious of it. Maybe she'd actually find time for it this term.

That thought was all too tempting.

After the question was asked and Bellaire clarified, Beverly raised her hand. "Human transfiguration doesn't limit itself to just transfiguring basic body parts, but as well as the entire body; it takes a highly skilled wizard to accomplish that. As far as for body-part transfiguration goes, it can vary from simply changing the color of your eyes or hair, to individual animal body parts."

pundantic 01-22-2015 02:25 AM

Hugh was hardly paying any attention. Not because he was TRYING to project a poor image of himself or upset anyone (he wasn't that complex of a person to even think that far) he just was too consumed by his own thoughts. Today it was Hume.

He was into political philosophy as of late. The implication of politics as a device in society in general, actually.

A purely human occurrence.

So when class started THAT was where his mind was...and he only swung out of those thoughts when he heard other people answering.

HUMAN TRANSFIGURATION?

Cool.

He had no comment.

lemon 01-22-2015 05:05 AM

He was very quiet as always in Bellaire's presence, on account of her being sort of scary. Normally, Dima would have stayed quiet until the activity started because he was so terrified of her, but something in the last question... cat... not wanting to tell people about..... Quigley..... Quigley?

Oh, man. That's... that's wha...???

"The Charms professor is a failed animagus?"

His hand was half raised, and the statement was almost more to himself than in response to Bellaire. Failed... failed animagus?

Why was she telling them this? Did... did Quigley want them to know? He hadn't wanted Dima to know, that was for sure.

Well yes there was that and to be honest as laws were as lax as they were back then Hogwarts would be infested with woodlice. Yep.

"Very good Mr.Rehman. You're obviously reading. 3 points."

"Very good. That is an example of what we're going to do today. Transfiguring ourselves. Though...not into sea creatures...not yet. 3 points."

"Well she was quite a woman. There is nothing like helping a person to show their true form." Most men were pigs..everyone knew that. The woman had the right idea. "3 points."

He raised his hand. "For the last question, I believe Gilderoy Lockhart once tried to mend Harry Potter's broken arm after a Quidditch accident, but rather than transforming the broken bone into a healed bone, he vanished it completely," he said confidently.

Sophia tapped her nose repeatedly as she thought about the boy's answer. "Yes and no. Lockhart was an idiot. He did end up performing a form of transfiguration but it was vanishing. One doesn't exactly transfigure a broken bone or any sort of illness into something else. Healing is a completely different chess match all together. 2 points."

Sophia fought the smile that was curling unto her lips. She did shake her head at the boy but there was a hint of smile as she did so.

"Not the answer I was looking for Mr. Barrington."

"That is correct Miss Valentine. Pettigrew used as form of human transfiguration called animagus transformation. Which as you will learn later on does not require a wand once you have mastered the art of it."

"Ah yes! 3 points." If that had happened to her, perhaps she would have turned Rhea, Tyler and Ariana into hedgehogs as well.

"You are right on all counts Mr. Tempus. But let me just clarify that being a metamorphmagus does qualify as human transformation. You are transfiguring your body from one form to the next. The metamorphmagus would just have an advantage because it comes naturally and they unlike the rest of us, won't have to spend months or years learning to do it. 5 points."

Especially after the little hint she had just given. "He's an animagus and although the cat form is good his hearing is way too sensitive" That was why the rule of silence was in the rules with that class, not to mention that he acts so not rational when someone even speaks up.

Sophia smirked.

Well it seemed her students weren't as air headed as she thought. Kevin surely surprised her if no one else did.

But they were right. It was the new Charms professor. She wouldn't debate on that though. Hehe

"That is correct. 3 points." Sophia felt like she needed to go through this every single class because for whatever reason, people were still mixing up the two.

"Correct. transfiguring the human body into something other than it's natural form. 3 points"

Hand up.

"Anyone who eats canary creams is using human transfiguration temporarily, professor."

She did not eat those things. High sugar and fat content, and if she was going to wear feathers it would be as a fashion accessory.

Raising his hand in the air, he said, "Human Transfiguration is DIFFICULT," NEWT level stuff, he had heard. "and can go easily wrong so you have to be careful. That thought was all too tempting.

"The mirrors are to be used to monitor your progress."

MudInMyBlood 01-22-2015 08:04 PM

Three points, AJ had just scored her house three whole points and from Bellaire of all people. Her spirits went up a tiny bit despite of everything else being wrong in her personal life at the moment.

They were going to do what? Excitement was happening. It sounded super difficult but fun if she could manage to do it. The older kids got to do a more fun form of transfiguration and that was a bummer, but you weren't going to hear any complaints from her. No sir, she didn't want to lose those points she had just earned.

Questions? She should probably ask some, but she was just so excited to get to the activity that she kept her mouth closed and hoped everybody else would follow suit.

DuckyLinJi 01-22-2015 08:06 PM

Ten points. TEN POINTS GIVEN for making fun of Professor Quigley. Who was this woman and why was she so awesome now?!

Kevin's grin did not fade away, in fact it became larger when he heard the earned points and he wondered if something had happened between her and CatMan. Actually, that was a good question.

"I have two questions!" he said , this time not raising his hand because why? "You gave me and her" he waved vaguely to the other girl who had mentioned Professor Quigley. "the most points. Do you have something against him? and if yes , what?" BECAUSE HE COULD SO USE IT AGAINST HIM ONE DAY! Yeah yeah , he knew that the man was also trying to help him with his behaviour but just in case things got wrong and he needed blackmail information.

"Also, can that spell be used to change eye colors?" Because having normal looking eyes and not one lighter brown than the other would be fantastic.

He would start with transfiguration his eyebrows in a bit.

WhittyBitty 01-22-2015 08:12 PM

...Was Professor Bellaire calling men pigs? Lux didn't agree with her there, but hey 3 points was pretty awesome!

Listening to her fellow classmates give replies, she made sure to take note of as many things as possible in case it came up during the exam. So far the topic wasn't proving to be as hard as she originally thought.

Oooh, she got to change the colour of her eyebrows. That was really cool! Since she didn't have any questions, Lux remained silent.

FearlessLeader19 01-22-2015 08:17 PM

Ahh, so they wouldn't be practicing this form of Transfiguartion on a friend as yet? How disappointing. But then again, they had to start at the basics so one step at a time! Changing their eyebrow colour was cool.

Adi made a note of both incantations and wand movement in his book, listening to Kevin's questions with interest... particularly the first one.

As for questions, he had none. Just one eager Puff ready to get started here.

Felixir 01-22-2015 08:37 PM

Oh hey, five points. That made Toby smile, mainly because it had just been the kind of 'speak and hope' response he was so used to giving. There were a lot of points being covered right now, and Toby tried his best to get them all written down. He was still writing when Professor Bellaire explained what they'd be doing in the lesson, and made sure to jot down both spells, even though he'd be doing the ear thing. Maybe he'd try turning his eyebrows pink in his own time.

Aaaaand nope, no questions, just lots of writing. Though something did finally register as he looked back over his notes and properly processed the part about Quigley. Wait, what? Had Dima said something about him being a failed animagus? And Bellaire said... something about a 'lapse'. Whatever it was sounded like something that wasn't Toby's business, though, so he tried his best to quell his curiosity.

Okay, anyway, yeah. No questions. Ready to go.

ArianaBlack 01-22-2015 08:40 PM

BLASPHEMY. That'w what this was. Or some other word that meant cruel. Did Blasphemy mean cruel? Maybe he could ask a Ravenclaw. But okay still. How come Zander was always grouped with the younger kids? Didn't graduating from fourth year meant that now you were counted as one of the older more capable ones? Okay, granted he wasn't actually very good at Transfiguration. Not bad, but not good. BUT STILL. He had waited his whole life for the moment when Bellaire would let him do the older kid stuff and now he was right back at square one. Blasphemy.

Sigh sigh siiiiiigh.

Okay no he didnt' have any questions because the task was pretty straight forward, but he was particularly interested in Kevin's question. Not that he really cared to say much about the Charms Professor, but where Kevin was involved Zander was too. Like seriously, flesh eating slugs?!!? Was that necessary, Quigley!? WAS IT REALLY!?

And if Bellaire had some information that could be used to help Kevin get a leg up..... Then he was all ears. Not that he'd do anything with the information himself. Prefect. Also he needed to stay on the good side. For OWLs and things.

Holmesian Feline 01-22-2015 08:48 PM

For once, Benny had actually done or answered something well in Bellaire's presence. That was a bonus on top of the three points she gave him, the fact that he felt good about his answer. Listening as what each year was given as their future activity, he had to admit he was mildly disappointed. eyebrows seemed so...little...to do. Especially in comparison to the elf ears transfiguration that had been given the sixth and seventh years.

Seems he still wasn't considered an upperclassman in this lesson at least. Oh well.

Any questions? Nope he couldn't think of anything at the moment. And he certainly wasn't going to follow up the one already given about Professor Maddox. That was likely to get ruffled feathers out of the woman.

Woaaahh getting three points? He could take that! It was better than having no points at all. Plus he did admire Professor Mcgonagall back in the day. She was an awesome witch. Anyways onto the lesson. He heard he was gonna change his ears to elf like ears? Ermm....he didn't know how he felt about this. He didn't want himself to have elf ears. He'd rather change his eyebrows to a different color. He knew he needed to challenge himself. He heard the wand movement was a simple tap and he got that down.

Any questions? Nah the professor explained it pretty well. He stayed silent till the activity was about to start.

"First to fifth years will be changing the colour of their eyebrows, using this transfiguration spell, "capillus colorum"while the 6th and 7th years will be changing their ears to elf like ears using this spell auribus aquta. These are the simplest forms of human transfiguration we can do without actually using potions or canary creams. Both require a simple tap of the wand to the areas." That was simple enough right?

"The mirrors are to be used to monitor your progress."

She looke at them all. "Questions?"

Okay so canary creams were an ingredient-based transfiguration not a spell-based one, but there were transfiguring foods that were from spells, and now that Ruby had a better grasp on what was being discussed, and Bellaire had responded to her, she was determined to prove that she actuall knew a thing or two.

Especially since Bellaire had apparently found someone new to bully, this Quigley professor.

Elf ears? That was good, she'd look cuter with elf ears than differently coloured eyebrows. No sweat with that one. Auribus Aquta. She repeated quietly. And a wand tap. Great. Manageable for sure. Thankfully Bellaire had said the instructions out loud, and hadn't just put them on the board. She was also wondering what was fundamentally different about changing your eyebrow colour with a transfiguration spell compared to a charm. Was it like... the charm was more like hair dye? Only surface? While the transfiguration changed the natural hair colour? Probably it was that. That made sense to her.

But she put her hand up to do with what she'd said before.

"Professor, which kind of human-transfiguration through ingesting food is more effective? ingredient-based like canary creams, or spell-based like... snafius danium or something similar to that? They're both temporary, and they're both human to animal, and they're both from eating the food, sooo... is there one that's better than the other or is it more like... preference?"

littledhampir 01-22-2015 10:17 PM

Heh. Ten points. Professor Bellaire must have something against professor cat, or so it seemed at least. Hayden hadn't even made fun of him she had just hinted that she agreed with the transfiguration and she got the most points of anyone else. Her and that Kevin kid. She actually quite liked professor cat but she was perfectly happy to pretend she didn't. For the sake of points. That didn't seem very Hufflepuff-like, but Hayden didn't care.

Okay, moving on. Hayden wished she could turn her ears into elf ears, but that spell was too advanced. She didn't understand why some magic was harder to perform than others, but she decided not to ask. She could figure it out herself, yes she could. For now, she was just going to do what professor Bellaire told her and not ask questions. Well, that wasn't quite true. She couldn't stop herself from raising her hand to ask a question.

"Professor, can this spell only be used to change the color of our eyebrows? Not any other part of the body?" It was similar to the question that Kevin boy asked, so she also made sure to pay attention to Bellaire's answer to his question.

Daydreamer11 01-22-2015 10:34 PM

Janelle took notes as the class discussed the Professor's questions. She scribbled down the important information on her parchment while still trying to be attentive. There was so much to learn and she felt like she didn't know anything. Would there come a time when she would know as much as her classmates?

Professor Bellaire wished that transfiguration could be used on students as punishment? Yikes! Janelle took a moment to ponder that comment. When the Professor asked for questions, she remained silent. Questions? She probably had a million of them, but none she wanted to ask right now. So she just waited for the next question or activity to be presented.

oh its Erik ok 01-22-2015 10:50 PM

She did not say he was wrong. Just not the answer she was looking for. Good enough for Dante.

Moving On.

So Dante had to make his eyebrows a different color. Well alright. At least he as not changing his ears into elf ears. Though that does sounds more awesome, thinking about it. Still it was fine with Dante. Since there was not fancy wand movement. Some of those were complicated. And the mystery of the mirrors was revealed. They were not there for people to look at their hair.

Nope.

No Questions from Dante. He was as ready as one can be to change their eyebrow color.

Hera 01-23-2015 12:20 AM

He had homework... Merlin. But OKAYYYY...

Zeke quickly scribbled that stuff down in the margin of his page, for later. Stupid History and having to remember things. Booooo.

Nevertheless, he continued to listed, and liked what he heard. He even raised a hand to his eyebrow for a moment, contemplating what he might look like with a different colour there... he was willing to bed his galleons that it'd look alien.

When there was a call for questions, he was stumped. Usually he had a hundred and one questions, but right now... he couldn't think of any. Instead, Zeke just sat and listened to he other questions being asked, ready to write down anything useful. The whole points thing she was giving out did seem a touch unfair, but he wouldn't say anything out loud.

2111jen 01-23-2015 01:21 AM

Domino was happy. She got the three points back that she lost in Professor Madox's office. Questions...Nope, no questions that she could think of.

Anna Banana 01-23-2015 01:44 AM

Three points! AWESOME! Why was that so awesome?! Those were Kate's very first points to earn since becoming a Hogwarts student. Those were some special points right there. Also, they were awarded to her from the professor she was most scared of. Kate still hadn't talked to the woman other than answering her questions, and she wasn't really sure if she wanted to. Something told her you could all too easily get this woman angry at you.

Questions? She didn't have any, but Ruby did. Kate remembered her name from working with Gabe in Arithmancy. She had nooooo clue what Ruby was talking about, though. She guessed it was some advanced type of discussion only an older student would be able to have. So instead of saying anything at all, Kate just listened and waited for the word go.

Kaos.Doodles 01-23-2015 01:46 AM

Yes and no? But if he wasn't right, that meant he was wrong. Kyroh shifted in his seat abit the detention with Catman popping back into his thoughts. Eyebrow colour change? Huh.

Kyroh wiggled his eyebrows as the instructions ran through his mind. It all sounded pretty dangerous to him. It didn't seem SMART to aim your wand right at your EYES. Hesitantly the third year raised his hand. "Professor what if I miss my eyebrows?" And it got to another place like uh, 3 centimetres or so below?

Sararara 01-23-2015 01:49 AM

Norah shook out her hand as it started to cramp from all the note taking that was going on over here. Purple ink or not, her fingers were probably about to fall off or something by the time Professor Bellaire was done replying to the students. PHEW. But what did she have against Professor Cat Man? Sure, he gave a bazillion people detention 'n all that, but he was a CAT. Cats were hard to hate, 'specially when they got all snuggly.

EYEBROWS? Whaaaaaaaat no way! The Hufflepuff sat on her hands to warm them up for all the COOL magic she'd soon be failing at doing. Eyeing herself in the mirror, Norah arched one eyebrow, then both, and wiggled them up and down again, wondering which color would suit her best. Was glittery a color? Raising a hand in the air, she waited to be called on before asking, "Do you get to pick which color you turn them?" She thought she'd look funny with blue eyebrows, but eyebrows were weird in themselves so what did she know. What was the POINT of eyebrows anyway? Her eyes already had eyelashes, she didn't see why they needed headscarves made of hair up there.

pundantic 01-23-2015 03:58 AM

Earth to Hughbert? Hello. Are you paying any attentio-

OH THERE YOU ARE. Hi.

He was obviously lost in thought about some greater philosophical thing, yo. Duh. Pardon him.

He did happen to catch the end of what the professor said. Namely the part about transforming his ears into elf-looking things. Pointy. For no real reason other than aesthetic.

Rather pointless one too. As he'd rather keep his own ears, thanks!

But he repeated the incantation in his head anyway.

lemon 01-23-2015 06:16 AM

Dima felt so scandalized. He DIDN'T want to know that about Quigley. The professor had made it clear on the night of the feast that he was embarrassed about something relating to his later-revealed cat form, and now he knew what.

Not to mention how disrespected Quigley already was... and knowing he was a failed animagus didn't exactly help, did it? Bellaire seemed so happy about it, too......

He stayed silent. This class wasn't fun today. And he disliked bullies, even if he disliked the Charms guy more.

Hera 01-23-2015 06:34 AM

Very happy sitting and listening he was... yep... until Kyroh asked THAT question.

...

Great Circe... what if they DID miss? And, while they were on the topic of missing things and disasters happening to their faces, what if... well, what if they just messed up the spell?

Hand up, Zeke raised HIS question.

"Professor, what if you get the spell wrong and it turns your face into a... pumpkin or something?" Translation: Could they DIE? Because he'd like to avoid that if possible, living was pretty awesome.

"How long do the effects of the spell last?" Or maybe it stayed until you used a counter-spell? Penelope was interested in this eyebrow color changing spell. How did it work? How did all color changing spells work? A simple answer like 'magic' would not satisfy Penelope. How did magic work? She had lots of questions, but she didn't think that Professor Bellaire would want to or be able to give her answers to all of her questions. "If you do the spell on one eyebrow or ear, does it change both of them, or do you have do do it on each eyebrow or ear?" Penelope had a lot of questions.

SPOILER!!: Kyroh

Weasley174 01-23-2015 11:22 AM

Angel listened to the Professor and heard her ask if anyone had any questions and since she didn't have any, she just sat in silence... she just hoped that they could reverse what they did because if anything went wrong she didn't want to keep with funny colour eyebrows.

Kolyander 01-23-2015 12:28 PM

A LOT of points were being handed out already in this lesson which quite surprised the young Slytherin. Maybe she should've tried to answer one of the questions. Oh well it was a bit to late for that now and she didn't happen to have an questions that weren't already either.

Shifting in her seat she took down quite a bit of detailed notes about everything that was already being said. The incantation for changing ones eyebrow color seemed fairly simple enough as did the wand movement, thus being a simple tap. Getting this wrong would be a clear failure on Hady's part so she knew she wouldn't allow that to happen.

For now though keeping her mouth shut and attention focused on the Professor was in her best interest.

Sophia frowned just a little bit. "Questions related to the lesson Mr.Hirase." She eyed him clearly telling him to drop it."You got bonus points because you answered a bonus question.." Wasn't very difficult. "The spell is for changing the colour of your eyebrows, if you use it for anything else and it doesn't work out, you'll stay like that or I'll owl Mungos to come get you."

Right so now that they had all asked their questions, it was time for them to start practicing.

Lucas listened intently as class began and tried to answer questions but many people raised their hands faster and decided to bow out. He sighed but soon after new spells were put in the ring that sounded quite intriguing. He wrote down the name of the spells and then decided to try it. "Capi", he suddenly heard people asking the professor absolutely rediculous questions like what if you get the spell wrong and you're head turns into a pumpkin, are these youngins so naive to not think the professor can fix anything, really? A grin formed on his faced and then, "HA,HA,Ha,HA,HAAAH....", he just could not help himself, he just could not stop laughing.

FearlessLeader19 01-23-2015 03:05 PM

Cool! The colour changing spell could be used on their heads or rather, hair, too! Adi made a note of that. It might come in handy sometime.

Annnnd practice time!

"Ready, Benny?"
Adi asked as he closed his book and left it on ne side of his desk. He shot a glance at AJ. It was in Transfiguration classes he mostly helped her out but he had a feeling she would refuse his help this time around so he would just go practice by himself, yeah?

The Badger got to his feet and headed for a mirror closest to him, muttering the incantation as he went. "Capillus colorum... capillus colorum... capillus colorum...''

Kolyander 01-23-2015 03:34 PM

With her free hand the small second year rubbed at her temples lightly. She was seriously beginning to get a headache. Ignoring the throbbing in her head she continued to take detailed notes going so far as to star the fact that the spell would work on her hair. Cause hey most girls had a want for changing their hair color.

However she needed to keep on track here. Muttering under her breath "Capillus colorum...capillus colorum.." as she got to her feet slowly. Making her way to the mirror she stood before it simply staring at herself for a moment as she continued to repeat the words.

Without knowing the correct incantation she clearly wouldn't get very far.

That was it? He'd have to live with a pumpkin for a head? Great mother of Circe help him!!! Zeke nodded to show he understood.

Focus.

Focus.

And not on fruit or vegetables. He doubted very much that cantaloupe would be an ugdrage from a pumpkin.

Then came their marching orders. Zeke did exactly as he was told and positioned himself in front of the closest mirror. Though, before he jumped right into it, he figured he'd practice the incantation first. "Ca-pill-us co-lor-um." ...

And again. "Cap-illus Color-um."

"Capillus Colorum!"

Ruby wondered if that was something Culloden would agree with. Wouldn't it vary? Like she wasn't great at potions, her brother was, sooo he could probably do a bang up job of an ingredients-based transfiguration potion, while she probably could better him at a spell-based one. But it was Bellaire, sooo Ruby said nothing. The fact that she'd spoken up at all so far was a pretty big deal, really.

But mirror time.

Time for the manic pixie dreamgirl aesthetic or something.

Ruby tucked her hair carefully behind her ears and looked in the mirror. Time to get started.

2111jen 01-23-2015 03:45 PM

Alright, this should be interesting, let's see if Domino can successfully turn her human ears to elf ears. Maybe if she liked it, could she keep them? She shrugged. Probably not.
"auribus aqut," she kept muttering as she went to a mirror.
She pointed her wand at her left ear.
"auribus aquta." She said.
she smilled when her ear turned into an elf's ear.

FearlessLeader19 01-23-2015 03:47 PM

Adi was still muttering the incantation as he stood in front of the chosen mirror. ''Capillus colorum... Capillus colorum...'' He broke the words into syllables occasionally just to get a better feel of the pronunciation. Still muttering, he eyed his reflection then raised his hand to flatten his hair. Why keep it messed up, anyway? AJ didn't hang around anymore to appreciate it.

So... what colour was he going for? Orange, of course! His favourite colour. Well, one eyebrow would be orange and another would be a different colour, just for the fun of things.

Time to get started! "Capillus colorum!'' Tap of the wand on the right eyebrow!

Buggy-Boo 01-23-2015 04:04 PM

Margo couldn't believe the Professor was letting them do their own human transfiguration! This was going to be pretty exiting, however, if she screwed up she would be stuck with it..... That made Margo a little hesitant to try. But f she wasn't going to try what was the point of the lesson.

So taking a mirror and positioning herself right in front of it, so she was centered appropriately Margo pulled out her wand and just practiced saying the spell a few times before actually moving on. "Capillus Colorum" Okay....now that Margo had the sound down right so was ready to give it a whirl.

"Capillus Colorum" Margo said taping just her left eyebrow to start with...and it turned!!! "My eyebrow is BLUE!!!!!!!!!" Margo said to no one in particular!!! She had done it on her first try!!!! Awesome!
