Not far away from Archie's hut, is a compact vegetable patch that Mr Millard has tended to over the summer. It is currently growing a wide array of vegetables and fruit. Mr Millard welcomes students to help tend to the plants using the watering cans provided.
Any ripened fruit or veg is free to be sampled, too. Just don't go making yourselves poorly!

Brilliant day to explore Aegis!
he could have hung out at the Lake, or explored the Forrest, but no. Aegis was transfixed with the vegetable Garden. He sat in front of it and identified what each vegetables and fruits were growing and which ones were rip to pick. What he was mostly transfixed upon was the lack of Gnomes in the Garden. He couldn't spot a single one!
Which was a shame, Aegis had befriended the Gnomes back home...much to his GeeGee's dismay, even Ella's Granny wasn't too Happy about it because he'd let them loose into her Garden too. Seriously the Gnomes had all right to be where ever they wanted to be.
So he stood up and went to the Center of the Garden. "ANY GNOME WHO IS FRIGHTENED TO BE HERE! FRET NOT! I AM YOUR SAVIOR!" He raised his hands into the Air, and hoped the Gnomes heard his call!

Clara had decided that she'd make the most of the sunshine around her and do a little exploring. Rediscovering old places, finding new ones, ect, hoping to find peace .....
..... but that was not what she found at all.
There was a very loud person somewhere near her ... she could hear him, but not see him. Maybe he was around the corner? Whatever the case may be, Clara decided to reply to him. The lack of a visual on them helped her feel less anxious about 'chit chat'. "I'M NOT A GNOME, BUT I'M DEFINITELY A LITTLE FRIGHTENED." Which was entirely the loud person's fault.

he stood in the Garden like a Scare crow, but his arms were more raised to the Sky and he intended to attract the pests to the Garden.
And yet, nothing came. until he heard a voice yelling to him. He made eye contact and beamed at the sight of a pretty red-haired girl!! OH SWEET FLAMSTEED! He's didn't attract any gnomes, but brought a pretty girl to his presence! he darted from his spot in the garden to her side and slid onto his knees. "My sweet! I dare not ever frighten such a sight as yourself!." he took her hand into his. "You can forgive me of course? I can make it up to you." Anything for a Lady whose hair burns brighter than the Sun!

For a PLETHORA of reasons, Dima had not traversed to the Vegetable Patch before.
1. Vegetables were nasty.
2. Being surrounded by all those vegetables made him nauseous.
3. He liked fruit, but the presence of the veggies overpowered him.
4. Vegetables vegetables vegetables.
5. Did he mention vegetables were not his thing?
But, as the little area of the grounds was one of the few places accessible to the thirteen year old that he had not explored, Dima had made it his mission to visit it. And visiting he was... only for a few minutes, though, because those ever-growing terrors were giving him the heebie jeebies.

Oooh, a vegetable patch!
Lux was sure that this was new, because she couldn't remember seeing one when Mr. Kirby was Groundskeeper. She still had no idea what had happened to the man and hoped that he was doing all right where ever he was.
Curiously she scanned the different rows of fruits and vegetables wondering if there were any cucumbers because they were delicious and cucumber sandwiches were her favourite kind. Yep, just as long as there were no strawberries around she was good; just the thought of them made her skin itch so she absent-mindedly scratched her arms.

It didn't interest him. Simple enough. Neither vegetables nor plants, his sister was the one who lived up to their name, he didn't care. Oleander was perfectly fine knowing plants existed and others took care of them for him. Seemed like a perfect world that way.
What he didn't mind was walking...
...and he'd been absentmindedly walking around until he reach a point--you now what? Truth is the exercise was too much for him and he needed a break. The excuse of being lost in thought was ultimately deceiving. "You look out of place...," he pointed out to the Ravenclaw boy who looked like he belonged here as much as he did.
The difference is that the boy looked rather suspicious. Quite frankly, everyone who ended up here was suspicious-looking. Narrowing his eyes ever so lightly, he wondered if the boy's reasoning mirrored his own.

He was inspecting a suspicious looked tomato whose leaves most DEFINITELY looked like they had formed the shape of a Grim. Were the vegetables trying to send him bad omens now, too? Plants. They could not be trusted. A year with Bentley and her flesh-eating wonders had taught him that, thanks.
But soon another boy appeared, and Dima thought him less ominous than the horrors spiked all around him, so he gave him all the attention instead. He looked out of place?
"Well, of course I do! You do as well. We're standing in a vegetable patch, and we're not vegetables." Wasn't that the DEFINITION of out of place? He squinted at the boy. "Unless someone performed a reaaaally good transfiguration spell on you."

See? Everything was suspicious-looking in this place. The Groundskeeper will probably look just as suspicious. The man did know how to disappear all of the sudden, so perhaps he was the only one who could blend it and belonged here.
That was unexpected, to say the least. The boy's reaction amused him to a point. "That seems to be quite obvious," he started to say, a smirk growing as he thought of the boy's next words. Transfiguration. Oleander was not only named after a plant, he was also a vegetable in disguise according to the one standing in front of him, "I wonder...," now he was curious, "...how can you tell I'm the result of outstanding magic?" Keep in mind his words are technically correct. Oleander is, in fact, a result of outstanding magic.

When a reply came, she instantly regretted speaking up in the first place, because ..... it wasn't put a reply, the guy was ... getting onto his knees ... and taking her hand. Clara had not been prepared for that at all. "Uhhh. Hello.....?" Those would have to do for words while she got her head around what was going on, or rather, tried to.
Loud guy. Compliments. Kneeling. Hand holding.
What even?
Usually, she'd be quick to make some sort of remarks, but, honestly ... she was lost for words. "Uh, that's okay, there's no need to make it up to me." Please. "I, uh, forgive you." Trying to ignore the fact that he still had her hand in his and was still on his knees in front of her, she attempted to make casual conversation ... of sorts. "So, what were doing out here? You were awfully loud."

Ah there see...all is well. Aegis could still sense some tension between the two as her palms seemed be a tad sweaty. So he released her from his Grasp and popped up from the ground. "Excuse my informalities. I'm Aegis Dane." he have the red-haired beauty a court bow then smirked for her.
What was he doing "What was I doing? Well I wanted to see if this Garden had any Gnomes within it." his thumb shot over his shoulder to point at the vegetable garden behind them. "Unfortunatley, this place looks like it's thriving and I don't see any Gnome Holes." Then he noticed her uniform to be of the House Ravenclaw. "A-ha!" Aegis grasped her hands once more into his and puller them to his Chest. "You're an Eagle! Use that Brain of yours and help me think of how we can attract Gnomes here!"

Puck wasn’t usually the type to hang in the cabbage patch but today, she was sort of doing that. She couldn’t help but notice Lux was there itching her arm…what was she doing?
Puck chuckled and made her way over to where Lux was standing. She couldn’t help but chuckle when she spotted the absentminded expression on her friends face. She made her way over to her friend and tried not to make any noise as she snuck up behind her.
“heeeeeeeey” she called out as she jumped forward and wrapped an arm around her friend. Yep, she was all not there THERE on her. This. Was fun.

"AHHHHHH!!"
What was it with people and wanting to scare her. Normally it was Kace, but now Puck was doing it too. Then there was Bianca, who had practically YELLED right in her ear at the start of term feast.
Heart hammering, Lux shook her head. She was going to have a heart attack if people kept doing that. "Heeey, Puck."

Puck couldn’t help but laugh when she heard Lux yell as she obviously had surprised her. “Lux,” she chuckled and grinned over to her as she threw her arm around her friend’s shoulder. “Did I surprise you?” She asked and chuckled. “Are you okay Luxy?” She asked and smiled at her friend laughing lightly.

Uh huh.
Puck was lucky that Lux loved her because the scaring thing had gotten old a while ago with Kace doing it all the time. "You know you surprised me. I can't stand people doing that anymore." Maybe she was being a little grumpy, but she couldn't help it. It wasn't even as if it usually worked when Kace did it.
"Sorry," she added with a small smile while hoping she hadn't upset Puck.

Obvious? "I guess it is. You pointed it out, though." Not HIM. So.
"Uh..." He blinked a little. This boy wasn't ACTUALLY a vegetable, right? Dima took a minuscule step back. "Is there actually a spell to turn vegetables into people? You can't do that, right? I couldn't tell."
Pause. "I mean... I... I can't, uh, tell." No way he was being THAT gullible again.
His run in with the Charms professor had been enough to prove he was to trusting, thanks.

Puck was grinning at Lux, “I didn’t mean to scare you” Puck admitted and smiled at her friend. “Aw I’m sorry love,” Puck grinned, “you can try and scare me to get back at me?” She offered grinning over to her.
“Its okay, Lux really,” Puck nodded because she wanted to reinforce the okayness of the situation. Really she got why Lux didn’t like it. “who else tries to scare you hun?” She asked caringly because if it was someone she didn’t care about she’d simply give them a piece of her mind. The unabridged version.

Oh, good. Puck wasn't put off by her grumpiness. Maybe she wasn't as moody as she thought she had been? Because a moody Lux was basically a normal mood for anyone else. Besides Bay because he was always super nice and perfect. "It's okay. It hardly ever scares me anyway. But Kace startled me at the feast, then Bianca did right after because she yelled in my ear." Yeah, not cool at all.
She smiled because Puck was so nice and she was really happy to talk to her friend. Puck was amazing. "Kace does it all the time because he's a buttface who keeps trying to scare me. It usually doesn't work though." BEAM. Kace was great and she didn't mind him doing it really. She also knew that Puck would never hurt him so it was okay for her to say this to her.

Sure, he did, but what he'd meant was entirely different to what the boy suddenly thought about walking vegetables. "True." It took effort to explain, and he didn't feel like explaining himself at the moment.
Yet there was something he didn't mind discussing, which was ironically an entire lie. Oleander was not a vegetable, but judging by the boy's reaction he might as well be one. He wanted to laugh, but refrained on doing so. Reasons, okay? The boy might even think him insane, for one. "There probably is. If you can turn people into vegetables, then there must be a spell that does the opposite." Actually, Oleander had no idea, so he was making this up.
Ob-viously, he couldn't tell. "Wow, so it's real magic, then." He said, pretending to be amazed by the turn of events. Which were entirely hypothetical considering he didn't even know such a spell existed. He wasn't particularly interested in turning vegetables into people, you see. "I've heard of killer tomatoes, but I don't know how that works...," partially true, "...do you?" Might as well keep this up.

Wait, WHAT?
"There's a spell to turn people into vegetables?! Do you know it? Are you going to turn ME into a vegetable?" Oh no. No no no. What if some of the green things in his food that the house elves maybe collected from here were transfigured PEOPLE? Dima was freaking out here.
His eyes just grew wider at the boys next works, if that was even possible. "Killer tomatoes?" See? He always told everyone that vegetables were evil, but no one ever listened to him. And this guy right here was PROOF.
"We have to tell people about this! Do you think they're in this patch? Should we let the groundskeeper know?"

Oh, wow. On second thought, he shouldn't have said anything at all. It was just so entertaining that the effort was worth it. Plus, is not like Oleander had to be somewhere right now. Maybe another class he was obviously skipping. So, he played along, "Must be. I don't know it, but I'm positive you could find it." The spell, he should look for it, we all know Oleander wouldn't. If the boy did, then Oleander would just ask. Providing he was interested in finding out.
"That means NO, I won't turn you into a vegetable... but we could try...," he added the last bit with a smirk of his own. A signature Wisteria smirk. Those were classic. "I'm quite good at reverting spells, I think," human transfiguration was tricky to reverse, you see...
Nodding, he replied, "Tomatoes, plural. Lots of them. Those exist for real...," in movies. Very old ones.
Both eyebrows raised, "Do you see tomatoes around?" If so, then that was his answer right there. Oleander couldn't answer ALL the questions.

Had this been here last term?
David had wandered the grounds quite a bit, but couldn't remember if there'd been a vegetable patch last time. Maybe he just hadn't come this way.
Buuut anyway, he wanted to check it out, see what was growing here and if there was anything interesting besides vegetables. Which weren't all that interesting.
He supposed he could water them, but that was kinda boring. Could the watering cans be charmed to do it themselves? Hmmm.

She had seen the little garden in passing, but hadn't ever stopped by to take a closer look. So, that's what she was doing today. Getting a closer look. Evie observed the hut of the Groundskeeper for a moment before walking past and taking a look at the vegetables. She also saw a boy nearby who looked a little.. bored? lost?
"Think he'd let us eat them?" she asked outloud to the boy. Not many were ripe, since it was almost winter, but surely there were some autumn vegetables in there somewhere.

Thankfully he wasn't bored for long because someone else came over. Awesome. He grinned.
"Probably," David answered with a nod. "Don't think he could have any other purpose for them." Really, why have a vegetable patch if you couldn't eat the vegetables? Not that he wanted to, but in theory. Having it unprotected with loads of people around was basically asking for people to come take food.
"Is there even anything edible here though?" he asked. Did any vegetables grow during the fall since it was so close to winter? He wasn't a gardener or anything, so he wouldn't know.

It was a nice sunny day to hang out outside. Deciding he deserved a break from burying his face in textbooks and dozing off for almost half an hour, Adi made his way out to the Vegetable Patch. He had been meaning to check it out but stuff got in the way. Anyway...
Here he was now!
Oh hey! Look at all the plants! So many fruits and veges! After browsing for a few moments, the Puffer plucked a bright red tomato from one of the plants and was about to bite into it when he noticed the watering cans. Hmmm... a few of those plants could use some perking up. Pocketing the tomato, he magically filled one of the cans then set about watering a few of the plants.
