The beautiful serenity of the Black Lake has been admired for years and years, not to mention being one of Hogwarts' top hang out spots! The water stretches for miles and is home to an array of different sea creatures, and though most will not bother you, it is advised for students to not swim further than the in-water signs suggest.

EVERYTHING! She really couldn't wait for Christmas break. At least spending Christmas with them could make her not to think about NEWTs for a while (unless her cousin started asking her and her twins about that. But if he did, she's gonna literally kick his butt.) Could it come really soon, please?
She couldn't stop thinking about Christmas break... and throwing the rocks to the lake. She even didn't realize that there was a girl who was sitting with her. Sorry not sorry but sometimes she could be not aware about anything around her, especially when she was daydreaming.
"Oh, hello..." She said to her. Well, how long she had been here by the way? "Sorry... but I'm not ignoring you. You know, sometimes when I daydream or think of something, I forgot that I was in a public place and there are people around me. I didn't realize that you were here so... Yeah, I mean, No. I am not ignoring you." Then she realized that she had met this redhead girl before. "Hi...."
Crap, she didn't remember her name.
Awww, the girl was apologizing to her. That was so cute though of course Lux wouldn't comment on that when they didn't really know each other. "That is totally understandable. I like to daydream too. It is a nice break from studying." And sometimes she got so lost in another world that everything else slipped away.
It was then that she realized that she had seen this girl before. She had been one of the people in the greenhouse with the Headmistress. "Your name is Bianca, right?" She was pretty sure that was the older girl's name and hopefully she wasn't wrong because that would be a little embarrassing.

Now then, they'd be looking at a butt whooping. He was talking creatures now. He was so lucky. Everyone was lucky. It seemed she was the only one not allowed to have a pet. Well...she had one but he wasn't even near half a foot tall.
"That's cool." She paused to think for a moment. "Tell me about this fennec fox. I'm not familiar with those." Magical creatures she had, hands down. Normal creatures, those flew pass her attention.
Why....was he staring at her? Had she said something wrong?
A flush invaded her cheeks under his gaze, already feeling embarrassed in case she HAD said something stare-worthy. But then he was smiling again and her lip twitched in relief. Had she surprised him with her comment? "Merlin, Finn!" A small, unintentional laugh escaped pass her lips. "I thought I said something wrong." Was her face still red? Way to scare her, Mister Quotes.
Finn seemed more at ease, though, which made Beverly loosen up a bit. Grinning at him, she tossed her hair back again. It was getting long...longer than it already was. "You deserve a badge for dandelion finder." Since he was set to find the stash of them. A challenge? Well now that he mentioned it... "Yes. It is one now." She couldn't help it, she laughed again. Man? Guys and their inclination to be a man. "Is said man going to take my challenge?"
Oh, was he really giving it a try? Interesting.
Beverly flopped down on the grass, crossing her legs and giving him her attention as he came up with another quote. "Life is like a box of chocolates?" She thought that over. "Brilliant, really, but...y'know Finn, I'd rather have the chocolates and eat them." Honest truth. Put dandelions and chocolates on a scale, the latter would win.
Now, this was nice! It wasn't really in his place to say much about the fox, because it was not of his, so he didn't want to give out wrong information. That was for Devlin to handle, so he would do his best here. "Well, they're.. they're really small, like the size of an average cat... And they have small, but long ears... And they... they come from some part of Africa, I think. " Finn was not going into much detail here because he didn't know much himself. Would that be enough for Beverly's interest?
He had to laugh at her a little, though. That must've been awkward, his staring that was. Not something people were meant to do, rude even. "No no, quite... quite the opposite really." And, he was thankful for that, too.
"What an.. an honor." Finn said, smiling to the grass all the while. Dandelion finder, it was silly, but hey, when one got some title, you took it. Today was just full of good surprises, something he hadn't expected. Now, for Beverly, though, today was her day. "You...shall be Miss...... Potion Master?" God, that sounded lame. He shook his head several times, chastising himself for saying such a uncool thing. "Yessum, said man will." Even he brought it up, he was in for it. Could be good for the both of them?
"I'd have them too." Honestly, who would want to eat grass? Unless a person considered themselves an animal in someones, only odd people would. So, he continued searching the grass for any specks of white that might tell him there were dandelions nearby.
"I'm always around,'' the boy said as he tilted his head to survey Angel. "Benny's ditching you, huh? I bet he's got his head in a book every free second he gets.'' Which was a good thing since OWLs were in a few months but the bestie needed to remember to have some fun too. Adi kneeled back to admire his handiwork. He Talking Toadystool looked quite comfy there. Yup.
Right! This toadstool would be needing water. Adi reached for his wand but then his eyes were snapping towards Angel. Benny the dream boat? LOL. He had never thought of his bestie like that obviously buuuuut it didn't stop him from a funny response. "I think he's the hottest dragon to ever roam this earth, Angel.'' Get it? Hottest dragon? Since dragons breathed fire.
"She's not avoiding you. You two worked in History of Magic together, didn't you?" He wasn't getting dragged into sister squabbles if he could avoid it. Hehe. "But new friends are always great. As long as you don't forget about your old ones.'' Like him.
The Puffer snorted. He never got how girls worked with long nails nor why they fretted over them when one got broken. He nodded in approval at Angelfish's toadstool. "It looks great. Don't forget to give it some water.'' Speaking of water... he held the wand at its roots. "Aguamenti!'' He concentrated so that there was just a trickle of water falling before quickly stopping the charm. "Finite!''
All done!
Angel looked at Adi and giggled. "Sometimes, but it's to be expected, you've both got big exams coming up, I know your both going to do amazing." Angel knew that they both were totally going to ace their exams and there was nothing that they couldn't achieve together.
"You know it." Angel giggled as she heard what Adi said. "He's the dreamiest person ever to walk the world, he could totally be a pop star if he would just sing a little." Angel was totally going to try and hear him sing one day, she was sure his voice was lovely.
"That's true." Angel smiled as she thought about what Adi said. "You really are wise, you do know that." Angel didn't know why she hadn't realised that before now but anyway she had to water the plant.
Angel took her wand out "Aguamenti!" Angel did the wand movement and made sure she water to plant and the roots, she didn't blast the water out of her wand because she didn't want anything going wrong. Angel let the water flow for a few seconds before she finished the spell. "I think they both look good Adi." Angel beamed at him.
Now, this was nice! It wasn't really in his place to say much about the fox, because it was not of his, so he didn't want to give out wrong information. It probably wasn't the easiest thing to describe a creature, but she appreciated that Finn did his best. "Interesting. What about your cat? What's its name?" Curious much? When wasn't she...but maybe Finn wasn't used to all the questions. Oops. "Actually, you don't have to answer if you don't want to." Just saying. Some people were personal about that, who knows if Finn was the private kind? She was just getting to know him.
"Oh...well that's good." She flicked him a bit of grass for that mild scare and grinned. No hard feelings. It was nice to spill a laugh here and there after stressing inside the castle for a while now.
"It should be. Dandelion Finder is one of the highest honors." Not really. There hadn't even been one before Finn, but you know, she could play along. "Miss Potion Master?" She tapped her chin. It was catchy. "That sounds like something to put down on a resume, do you want to know what would sound even better?" Did he, hmm, HMM?
Now they had a challenge. Fun. She was looking forward to it and she hoped he didn't forget. "Be a man of your word, Mister Finn. I expect a quote weekly." She sniffed, putting up a pompous act, then grinned. Joking, bud.
They agreed on the chocolate bit. See, she wasn't that terrible of a judge of character. They agreed on stuff, most importantly food stuff, and were getting along famously. When has making friends becoming this simple? Or was it just Finn? Because there were people in this castle who annoyed her beyond belief and she hoped to one day see them trip and fall for entertainment purposes.

"Rolo." Finn simply answered Beverly. "Rolo's a.... " He was going to go into a little more detail until her next words made him stop. This time it wasn't a weird, awkward stare, but more of a studying type of stare. You don't have to answer if you don't want to. That's something Finn had been taught, whether by himself or his parents. But mostly, he started doing that for his own good nowadays. He wondered if Beverly did that as well, and if for the same reason as him. Anyway, after a couple of seconds he just nodded at her. Nothing else was said.
Excuse us, what was the grass flicking for? Finn had done nothing to deserve this terrible type of treatment. Nothing! He did laugh a little quietly, though.
"Do I- do I get dubbed or or something?" Just to make it official. Not that it was a big deal. Though, it made him wonder just how far Beverly would go into participating in something she might find silly. Figure her out slightly. " I think... I think Miss Potions Master... is brilliant." Nod, and he wasn't just saying it because he thought of it. "Wh-what is?"
A quote weekly wasn't terrible. In fact, he thought he was meant to do that for right now. But, Finn decided on keeping quiet, to save his own skin at the moment, he couldn't think up of anything else that was inspirational. "I'll I'll try." Find a quote weekly. Was it time to hit the library or something now?
He sat there in silence for some time, still continuing to search for dandelions. Soon he made himself a very very small pile of them, it wasn't a lot, maybe four or five, but he was sure Beverly would appreciate them. "Found-found any?" She'd only gotten one or so earlier, correct? He didn't want to out-do her. This was her project after all.
Oops sorry Mr. Bartholomew Henry. Now that she knew his name she would be committing it to memory. Cause yeah names were important most of the time.
He had said she could take his picture! She grinned at Bartholomew nodding her head. "Don't worry I will! Oh and I'm Hady by the way." If that's all she had to worry about she'd made sure it was a good photo of him.
Hearing Adi offer to take the photo Hady smile but kindly declined with a shake of her head. "No thanks, I don't want to be in it. I wanna show my dad." And well Jaxon too but yeah..she had to hear from him again first though.
Lifting up her camera and moving around to stand in different places to check out angles and lighting she finally figured out what to do. She moved slightly to the left several steps and knelt down on one knee. Holding the camera steady she clicked the button to take the photo of Bartholomew. This was going to be perfect!

After the photo had been taken Hady grinned brightly making sure to thank him for allowing her to take the photo. Quickly putting the camera back into her bag she sat herself down in the grass, pulling her knees to her chest.
If Bartholomew was going to be telling them stories or anything she wanted to listen as well. It wasn't everyday you get to listen to a giant squid tell you stories! He liked swimming partners? Did that mean they could swim with him when the weather was better? Cause that would be epic!
"So you don't mind when us students are in the lake?" Hady questioned wanting to make sure she was understanding him correctly.

Well now she wasn't looking at him because she felt like a rude troll for cutting him off. That hadn't been her intention and his silence made her wonder if he'd taken that to offense or something. Tucking more hair behind her ear, she glanced over at him. "I didn't mean to cut you off." Honest. "I felt like I was making you talk...and some people don't like that and I don't know if you like that." Rambling, it was happening. "Rolo is a nice name." Just FYI.
At least he laughed at the grass throwing. "That's my excitement...shown in grass-tossing." Just a quick little explanation so he wouldn't think she suddenly became an angry nature sprite.
"You do." She brought up a dandelion and waved it at his head. "You are...Mister Quotes, the Great Dandelion Finder." Oh my Merlin how stupid and silly was that. She was behaving like a CHILD. She grinned and nodded. He'll try for those quotes, good. Maybe they'll even post these inspirational quotes on their notice board. Maybe...if he wanted. But she'll let him know after she hears the best ones.
Finn was beating her at the dandelion hunt. She looked over at her great pile consisting of two dandelions. "I found two." Beverly sounded victorious. It was better than zero, okay. "I think this'll do. I usually don't store many." Actually, she probably had more here than she's ever collected at Hogwarts.

Adi nodded at Hady. He was glad someone else was also enjoying the meeting with the Squid. Such a friendly creature he was. Well, Adi knew that all along even though he had never actually talked to Bartholomew before.
The fifth year could also imagine the Squid having lots of memorable moments and not being able to pick one. As it spoke, Adi followed Hady and sat beside her, gesturing for Margo to join them if she wished. She was a whole lot comfortable around the Squid, right?
Swimming partners?! "Yes, what Hady asked,'' Adi said, needing to be sure he had heard correctly. "Could we go swimming with you sometime then?" How awesome that would be! "Also, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Adi.'' Of course he forgot to do that. The high excitement of meeting the Squid, ya know.

Folding her arms on her knees she shifted a little to get more comfortable. A grin formed on her face when Adi sat near her and she offered a small smile to the other girl (Margo) as well. "So how have you been this year Adi? I haven't really had the chance to talk to you much this year..." She asked after a moments silence. She hadn't and she felt a bit bad about that seeing as he was always nice to her and helped her out last year and all.
It was easy for her attention to go back at forth from Adi to Margo to the squid. Just so they all didn't start talking at once then she might end up confused.

It wasn't that Beverly had cut him off, she hadn't actually. What she had said sounded so familiar to him he just had to stop himself, and think it through. So, he wasn't the only one that thought like that sometimes. "No no, you didn't cut me off." He just stared at the grass, keeping to himself. They could drop it now, yes? It wasn't that big of a deal. He hadn't done anything wrong, and Beverly hadn't gone anything wrong. There was no need for her to feel whatever she was feeling. "Ye-yeah, I guess." Finn said quietly agreeing with her, finally looking up and giving Beverly a small smile.
"Heeeyyy..." he said, picking up the stray grass, "'Sides, I'm not-not sure if any potions need grass, but.. if you create one..." Which, with her love for this subject, she probably does experiments, "You could use it... To your advantage." Resourcefulness, aiding her, even if it was in the smallest of ways. She should save it, especially if she was going to get herself working with a cauldron soon.
Ok, he had to laugh at this, being dubbed a dandelion finder and quotes person all in one go. Let it be Beverly doing this, something she probably never did for looking mature, or being having a tough slytherin persona.
"Every...every last single secret, memory, clue, found out. Do you like mysteries because.... you wanna be... ohhhh discovered?" Oh god, how terribly lame did that sound? Like some cliché. Finn even shook his head at himself. "Or is it the satisfaction-finding it all all out?" Solving a mystery could leave someone feeling rather accomplished. Dragon Lord, more laughing ensued. "All about mystery and and danger with you."
"Excellent!" He said at her discovery. Started with zero now they were here. Must feel nice for her to get this far. "Oh? I-I guess I'll head back to the-to the castle?" Maybe that was it for them, for today? He did slightly intrude earlier, so she might want time to herself. Finn understood if she wanted that.

She didn't cut him off but he wasn't looking at her. Not that she was vain, but it was something she did herself when she didn't want to voice something. What was Finn thinking? But he was smiling so maybe he understood her--or was letting the subject go. Two of which she was okay with. "Sounds like a sweet," she pointed out. Rolo. It did.
Did he not appreciate her excited grass-tossing? She didn't do that often...or at all. Pssh. Finn should feel honored. "Grass as a potions ingredient. Very clever of you, Mister Quotes." Testing out that name. She rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "I do like mixing ingredients together, I might try that this summer." Her dad might not appreciate the mess if another green slob monster oozed from her cauldron, but it was all for educational purposes. Right.
Beverly took his laughter as a go, so Mister Quotes, the Dandelion Finder was sticking with him for forever. Yes.
Her hand flew to her mouth as a giggle escaped. Discovered? Funny. "I'm one of those unsolvable mysteries. You can look for all the clues and never find the answer." That's how she kept away from the gossip radar. Except for that one time, but it was ONLY that one time. Mystery and danger, Beverly tossed her hair behind her shoulder all cool-like. "You know me so well already, Finn." That would go down on her resume.
Beverly Juniper Wayne: All about the mystery and danger.
She tucked all of the dandelions into her pouch, then looked over at him. "If you'd like? It's almost supper time." Beverly glanced at her surroundings, twisting the small tie of the pouch between her fingers. "We...can walk back together?" If he'd like. They were going the same way, weren't they?
It took several hours but James had it all set up. Blanket, pizza he actually did make himself unlike the last time he made dinner for a girl when the house elves did it. He looked through the basket he had the stuff in and marked off the items in his head, plates, napkins, soda..some chocolate cake. Yup everything was set. He walked off a little ways and looked over his shoulder to make sure he couldn't see the setup from where he was to wait for Vinnie.

Vinnie had no idea what James had planned but she loved that he wanted to surprise her. That was the cutest thing ever, no one had ever been like that to her. Not to this extent and she was enjoying it greatly. This time the brunette wasn't all dressed up, heels and dress, she was in a plaid shirt and some doc martens. He had said to come casual.
Making her way down to the lake the Slytherin couldn't help but smile. There was this feeling surrounding her that just wouldn't let her stop...and that only increased when she saw him. "Heyy you!"

James looked up as he saw Vinnie walk toward him and grinned as he saw her actually dressed casually for once. A glance at his watch showed she was right on time. She totally should have been a Ravenclaw. He chuckled to himself and watched her walk up his grin widening.
"Hello yourself," he said smiling. "Alright close your eyes and take my hand," he said with a grin. Yup was going to stay a surprise until the last possible second. "You'll love it. I promise."

The smile on her face grew when she saw him grin too. What was going on ? Was he just grinning because of her or because of what was going on in his mind? A million to see inside his head for a minute....or maybe she should just learn legilimency? Something along those lines.
"Are you gonna stay this mysterious all evening?", she smiled and covered her eyes with one hand. If she didnt she knew she would pick and she really didnt want to ruin it. Taking his hand the brunette felt the excitement rise...

James squeezed her hand and laughed at her question. "All evening? No. Just a little bit longer." He walked her toward the setup he created and moved behind her his arms wrapping around her waist. "Aaaaaaand open," he said with a huge grin on his face. "Well what do you think?" he said with a smirk.
He hoped she liked it because otherwise he might just be really sad since he spent a lot of time on this today. But...he was pretty confident she would be thrilled. Yup. Cause he knew her well.

Squeezing his hand back Vinnie swung their arms a little. Where was he taking her?! God, she was so excited! When she came her she thought they'd just be lying under a tree or something, just enjoying each others company. "With you one can never be sure", the brunette grinned.
As she finally opened her eyes she blinked a few times but as soon as the scenery in front of her was all clear she gasped. "Oh.my.god!"Without a doubt this was the most beautiful thing ever and he did it just for her. "That must have taken ages! Its beautiful, i cant believe you did that. You are crazy." Turning around in his arms she beamed at him. "Crazy."

James laughed as she swung their arms and shook his head. "What's that supposed to mean? I'm usually pretty predictable," he said with a laugh. He wasn't sure if he wanted to see what her expression was and it was making him a little nervous.
Hearing her words though he grinned, "It took some time. I made it all myself so it it's terrible I'm sorry." He looked down at her and grinned widely at her, "If I'm crazy I don't want to be sane," he said with a laugh. "Do you like it?"

Predictable? James Rodemiere?! "if you are predictable...what am i?!" Obviously Vinnie liked to think she knew him very well but she surely didnt expect any of this. He was always up for a good surprise.
"I am sure its not terrible, what are you even saying", she chuckled a little and poked his nose. How did she deserve this?! This was so perfect...like it came straight out of a movie.Wow." You made the food yourself too?" That must have taken ages and he still did it...for her. "I absolutely love it James...i mean cant you see that on my face?", she laughed before nodding like a mad woman. He really knew her well...

James looked at her and laughed, "Spontaneous?" He smirked and looked at her and then back at the picnic set up. "I thought today we could switch roles. I'll be spontaneous you can be predictable," he said with a chuckle.
"Well then you haven't tried enough of my cooking if you think that," he said with a smirk and laughed as she poked his nose. He nodded at her question and walked over to the blanket. "Well I can but just thought I'd make sure." He sat down and looked up at her. "It's not much but...well thought you could use a nice evening after everything."
She had been granted permission she had. By a Professor himself. Yup yup. And there were only two conditions to go along with it. Only two. Keep them small, and control them. Didn't sound too hard at all.
Which, was why she had skittered out onto the grounds almost immediately after their conversation. It had taken her a few minutes to find the rock pile she was thinking of. Strange, given there were rocks in numerous locations on the lake's edge. Still, she wanted the specific one she had mentioned to the Professor and when she reached it, she was glad to see that no one else had claimed it for dragon-creations.
But it needed a few more pebbles and stones. There were lots, but not quite enough yet. So, she kicked off her shoes and her socks and started collecting. Socks made for good carrying bags.

He had followed Amur out of the castle. Why? Because she looked like she was up to something, and he wanted to be a part of that. He technically wasn't stalking, because it was only by chance that he watched her exit Quigley's office, and only by chance that he became her tail and she made her way out to the grounds.
Whatever she was up to... it was bound to be good.
Amur was very much like Ashley in that sense, she was witty and had amazing ideas, both very good characteristics to possess.
"Whatcha doin'?" he asked, having paused a short distance away to watch what she did. Shoes and socks off, and hunting for pebbles? How very peculiar.
She hadn't heard her intentionally unintentional tail because well, she had been so preoccupied with her thoughts and her plans and the possibilities. Her mind got very loud when it got busy. Even collecting pebbles, humming away, Amur had not noticed the boy. Not until he spoke.
Then it was the dropping of her rock-filled sock in surprise. It wasn't I'm-doing-something-wrong-surprise, because she had got permission for this, but it still kind of felt that way. But it was Zeke, and Zeke was cool. So she huffed out her fright, picked up her sock and flashed him a grin.
"Makin' dragons."

Whoopppss... she dropped her pebbles, or maybe she was losing her marbles? It was sometimes hard to tell when people went about removing clothing and collecting odd items from about the place. Still, he wasn't going to judge, because he was sure there was a purpose in it all. Maybe.
Her grin with the first sign of trouble, and not the bad kind, it was the kinda trouble he LIKED, the kinda trouble that he was initially following her for. She WAS u to something!
And then there it was, a confession. She was MAKING DRAGONS!
... Why hadn't he thought to do the same?
"Want some help? I'm all sorts of handy if you let me." He was being perfectly sincere, and he was willing to let her call the shots. See, there were good things for both of them in this. She could boss him around, and he could help make dragons.
How many was she intending to make? His gaze flitted to the pile of rocks, and then back to the pebbles in her sock.
