The giant squid lazily made his way across the lake, moving just beneath the surface. The humans were being loud today and he'd never understand why they insisted on yelling so much. His hearing was just fine.

Suddenly the placid surface of the lake was broken by a great deal of bubbles followed shortly after by the head of Bartholomew Henry.

Adi turned to look back at Margo, a smile on his face. "You don't have to worry about anything.'' He truly understood how she felt but he also really did want her to come closer to the water's edge. "I want him to hear me,'' he continued. "I bet he's not that bad, Margo. Please come on over. I'll be right here, anyway, so nothing will go wrong.'' Adi hardly believed the Squid would go around attacking students. He just needed Margo to see that.

Hearing the sound of rushing water, the older Hufflepuff turned to see the huge head of Batholomew the giant squid rising from under the lake. Awesomeeee! The Squid had heard him! Um... how did one go around greeting the creature? Adi settled on talking to it as though it were a human. "Hiiiii!'' He waved both hands enthusiastically. He was actually interacting with it!

Margo took just very tiny step forward. "What's happening..." Margo nearly cried when she saw that the surface of the lake was bubbling and frothing. Dear Merlin...the Kraken was coming. "No Adi we have to run!" Margo cried taking step backward this time She couldn't do this... She just couldn't Adi was pushing her too far this time.

Then a head popped through the surface and that was the last thing Margo saw...she fainted right there by the lake...

[spoiler= MARGOOOOOO! *flails*] Run? Nope. This was not the time to run. Adi tried to reassure Margo with a calm and confident attitude. But it didn't work for the younger girl FAINTED!





This was not how he pictured this going. Adi knew he should have given her a warning before but he had also reasoned that if he did that, she would have refused flat out. Getting down on his knees beside Margo, he tried to revive her magically by pointing his wand at her chest and saying the incantation. "Rennervate!'' Red light shot at her.

"Margo?" The Badger shook her lightly. He reallllly hadn't meant to scare her like that but he thought that if she was going to be at Hogwarts for six more years, she shouldn't live in fear of the Squid.

Her attention was quickly moved from the others at the lake to the water as bubbles began to appear across it's surface. Whoa! It was the squid! Now that was epic! Moving it sit on her knees her gaze was fixed on the squid and nothing unless...well that was until she heard Adi using a spell.

Her eyes moved to Adi and Margo the sight making the young girl frown. Had that other girl fainted? It appeared as if she had. Not sure whether or not to laugh at the situation Hady thought about seeing if they needed help...though it seemed as if the Prefect had it under control on his own.

Slowly her eyes drifted back to the water and the squid. Would he mind if she took a photo of him? She still had her camera from last year!

.........Blink............Blink, Blink.....

Margo was starting to come around. She had forgotten where she was......and as she began to wake up, Margo noticed she was still on the beach and the lake was so near. "Adi?" Margo asked doing her best not to turn and run from the lake. "Adi, it won't hurt me will it." Margo asked offering her hand to Adi to help her up. She couldn't believe she was sitting her.

Such drama. This is why Bartholomew preferred life under the surface of the lake. His great tentacles helped move him closer to the small humans, providing him a better vantage point.

"My dear girl, I do not hurt the students of Hogwarts." The squid's booming voice was directed at the female. How silly to be afraid of him.

Whoa! He spoke! The squid could talk!!!

So epic. Seriously this was epic. Slowly Hady inched herself closer to get a better look at the squid. "Erm Mr. uh Giant Squid...could I take a photo of you please?" The second year questioned quietly as she stared at him in awe. A photo of the squid would be awesome especially one of him this close! She was polite though usually and choose to ask him first.

How nice of her not to hurt him. He gladly appreciated that of course, so he gave her a simple nod and two thumbs up. Unless she had more to say about this, he assumed this part of the conversation was done?

"Yeah... yeah, that makes sense. Why wouldn't it?" Everyone had different subjects or matters that they found intriguing and looked into their spare time, while others did it because it was some sort of requirement. "Not sure... not sure if I have a favorite. But, maybe I'd be more.. more inclined to go to to Care of of Magical Creatures or maybe, History of Magic." Mhmmm. She was also lucky he felt comfortable talking to her. Its not like this was a private matter, but he wasn't one to say too much that was 'of him'.

At her words Finn laughed, because, yes, it did sound a bit like some cheesy 'get well' card or something. "It's a bit.. bit cliché but..." It was good that she liked it. "Seems to have gotten your attention." Finn said with a rare smile. He took into consideration what she said about the dandelions and how they didn't have to look perfect. The boy crouched lower to the grass and began to inspect it closely. It was a while before he got anything. "Aha! Two for you-Miss." Finn said in a victorious voice as he held them tightly in his fingers, showing them to her. "Seeeee? Maybe-maybe my quote gave us luck." He said in a teasing voice. It could only be uphill from here.

PHEW!

Margo was waking up. It didn't surprise him that she was so scared still and he had his fingers crossed that she wouldn't faint again. Well, figuratively speaking since he needed his hands. He helped Margo up but still remained holding it supportively as the girl steadied herself on her feet. "Nope, he wouldn't, Margo.'' Adi was confident about that.

And as if to support Adi's response, Batholomew the Giant Squid spoke. "See? There's nothing to worry about. If it's okay with you, we can go closer.'' To show that there was nothing to be afraid of, the fifth year took some steps towards the squid before looking back at Margo encouragingly.

Margo even added a giggle as she really began to be in the moment! She surprised her self even that she was having fun.

Waiting on the squids reply to her taking a photo of him Hady looked around the lake. Her eyes once more landing on Adi and the girl that had fainted before. It appeared she was doing better now and actually seemed to be a little excited. That was good! So much better then being frightened.

With a small smile she waved at them both. "Hey Adi!" She called over to him. It had been a long time since she'd spoke to him or anything.

"Bartholomew Henry, Miss." How nice to see this young female was polite. "Of course, of course. Just be sure to get my good side." He'd trust this picture would be for her personal use and not used for any monetary gain.

The girl was a strange little thing. The water was perfectly fine, though perhaps a bit cold for the humans. Delicate things, humans.

Having finally been greeted by the female child, Bartholomew lifted a tentacle from the water, causing a shower of water to trickle down over the surface of the lake. He could wave as well as talk, you see. "Lovely day, isn't it?"

Normally when she said if something made sense people would say it did and not ask why it wouldn't, so when Finn asked her, she shrugged. "Becauuuse...it sounded complicated once I said it, but I'm glad you understood," she said quickly.

Oh--wait. He mentioned Care of Magical Creatures. Beverly's interest peaked. "Does that mean you enjoy working with creatures or learning about them?" Or both? Both was okay, too. Finn was quickly making up her cool people's list.

"It inspired me," she said, flashing him one of her own rare smiles. "And you should feel lucky because not much inspires me," she threw out there. Of course that was debatable. She could be quite impressionable at times even if she didn't like to admit it.

Running her fingers through the grass to make sure she didn't miss any hidden dandelions, the Slytherin huffed her fringe from her eyes. Which swiftly fell back over her face when she turned to Finn. "You found some!" She didn't intend for her voice to come off as excited, so she cleared her throat tossed her hair back behind her shoulder. "They're probably the last dandelions of the season." Slipping the strap from her wrist, she held the small pouch open for him. "You should come up with more of these quotes to give us more luck." She half smirked and wiggled the pouch.

In they go, mister.

Adi's usual smile returned a bit broader than usual. He was SO pleased that Margo was up to going somewhat closer to the Squid. She had some Gryffindor in her. "Alright,'' he agreed to not touching the water. One step at a time. Once Margo overcame her fear of the Squid, she would gradually overcome her fear of the water.

The Hufflepuff boy stood right beside her so she would be able to talk to Bartholomew but though he did so, he tried to stay out of the spotlight. This was Margo's time. So observed he had been with his fellow Puffer, he failed to notice Hady until she called out his name. "Hey, Hady!'' He noticed her camera. "If you like I can take one of you standing beside the Squid.''

Ah! The Squid did the human motion with such ease as though it had had loads of practice... which it probably had since it was around for such a long time. "Can you tell us about one of your most memorable time underwater?'' the fifth year blurted out. Woops. Whatever happened to this being Margo's time? But he was eager to hear of a tale... besides, he just couldn't shut up sometimes.

It didn't sound complicated to him, but was there much to add onto that? Not really. "No-no problem." He said. Wasn't it better to have one person understand what you were getting at, than none? Though, Finn thought lots of people agreed with Beverly. Probably helped that she was a prefect.

""Maybe... learning." Working with could turn into another whole ordeal, especially magical creatures, couldn't it? "But... I own a cat. And my cousin... he has a fennec fox." In case she thought not wanting to work with animals was some sort of uncool or lame thing.

It inspired her? Finn stared at her for a long time, cuz, whoa, positive comment much? Even if it seemed like nothing, it was different for him. So, there came a very small smile from him after some time of awkward staring. "I will- I will definitely feel lucky, then." That was weird to say. AND and she was smiling at him! OMG, stay calm. Calm, calm. He didn't regret striding up to Beverly earlier. Nope.

"Yeah, yeah I did!" He said, just as chippy. Most his nerves from earlier had gone away and were now replaced with a relaxed, cheerful attitude. "Maybe... yeah, maybe. Good thing-good thing we'll find the the stash of them." He kneeled over to her and carefully placed the dandelions in her little pouch. But he had to laugh. Was that a challenge then? "That's a challenge... isn't it?" The harmless of slytherin challenges. "Way to put a pressure on a a man."

Finn stayed crouched near the ground searching, both the grass and his mind for some luck. "Life... is like a... a... a..." What was that saying? "Box of of chocolates? Yeah, so, let's hope our box... the grass.. holds lots of chocolate- dandelions." Did that work for her? Was it inspiring enough? Would she find her precious dandelions.

"Since when did you get so hyper?" Adi asked Angel as they made their way to the Grounds, both clutching their Toadstools. "Also, I'm good. Just a bit tired. What about you, Diva?"

"Is somewhere by the Lake okay?" he questioned as the neared the area where the great mass of water lay. Adi was sure Angel wouldn't mind, anyway but he had to ask. There was plant life not far from the water so he figured it would be a nice spot for the toadstools. Upon reaching there, he set down the pot and looked around. Yep. This was an okay spot.

"Suppose we should get to planting. First we'll need a hole in the ground.'' And for that they'll need to dig. "I grabbed two of the mini spades from the Greenhouses for us.'' Just in case Angel had forgotten to take any. He handed one to her then got on his knees to begin digging. It didn't take long of course and when he was done, he carefully transferred the Talking Toadstool in his gloved hands (he had pulled on a pair of them after he had finished digging) to the freshly dug earth.

Using his hands, Adi filled the hole with the dug up earth around the roots to cover them up. There! That wasn't so bad.

He had said she could take his picture! She grinned at Bartholomew nodding her head. "Don't worry I will! Oh and I'm Hady by the way." If that's all she had to worry about she'd made sure it was a good photo of him.

Hearing Adi offer to take the photo Hady smile but kindly declined with a shake of her head. "No thanks, I don't want to be in it. I wanna show my dad." And well Jaxon too but yeah..she had to hear from him again first though.

Lifting up her camera and moving around to stand in different places to check out angles and lighting she finally figured out what to do. She moved slightly to the left several steps and knelt down on one knee. Holding the camera steady she clicked the button to take the photo of Bartholomew. This was going to be perfect!

She had no problem whether people liked working with magical creatures or not, or like Finn, simply liked learning about them. There would be a problem if she ever saw anyone harm a creature. Now then, they'd be looking at a butt whooping. He was talking creatures now. He was so lucky. Everyone was lucky. It seemed she was the only one not allowed to have a pet. Well...she had one but he wasn't even near half a foot tall.

"That's cool." She paused to think for a moment. "Tell me about this fennec fox. I'm not familiar with those." Magical creatures she had, hands down. Normal creatures, those flew pass her attention.

Why....was he staring at her? Had she said something wrong?

A flush invaded her cheeks under his gaze, already feeling embarrassed in case she HAD said something stare-worthy. But then he was smiling again and her lip twitched in relief. Had she surprised him with her comment? "Merlin, Finn!" A small, unintentional laugh escaped pass her lips. "I thought I said something wrong." Was her face still red? Way to scare her, Mister Quotes.

Finn seemed more at ease, though, which made Beverly loosen up a bit. Grinning at him, she tossed her hair back again. It was getting long...longer than it already was. "You deserve a badge for dandelion finder." Since he was set to find the stash of them. A challenge? Well now that he mentioned it... "Yes. It is one now." She couldn't help it, she laughed again. Man? Guys and their inclination to be a man. "Is said man going to take my challenge?"

Oh, was he really giving it a try? Interesting.

Beverly flopped down on the grass, crossing her legs and giving him her attention as he came up with another quote. "Life is like a box of chocolates?" She thought that over. "Brilliant, really, but...y'know Finn, I'd rather have the chocolates and eat them." Honest truth. Put dandelions and chocolates on a scale, the latter would win.

Angel looked at Adi and giggled. "Since I missed you so much." Angel smiled as she looked at Adi carrying his toadstool. "I miss Benny more though, just saying." Angel stuck her tongue out at Adi before looking at her toadstool. "Don't worry we're nearly there." Angel smiled at the toadstool.

"You do know that Benny is totally handsome and amazing and just such a dream boat don't you Adi?" Angel thought she might as well ask him what he thought whilst they worked together, she wanted to see what Adi actually thought of her boyfriend.

Angel giggled. "I'm awesome and enjoy life at the minute, though I wish I knew why AJ was avoiding me, I haven't seen her for ages and I want to find out how she is." Angel didn't want to talk about that at the minute though. "I've made a few new friends as well which is awesome."

Angel smiled as they got to the lake. "This is going to be a lovely place for them." Angel put her glove on and looked at the ground, then Adi gave her a shovel. "Thanks Adi, I thought about using my hands but now I think that's not a good idea, because I'll just scream and cry if I broke one of my nails." Angel used the shovel on the ground to make a hole and that when she had made it big enough, she took the toadstool out of it's pot, making sure it was away from Adi's plant since they didn't grow well together or lived well near each other.

Angel planted the toadstool an then she put the soil back around it making sure it was nicely wrapped up with it. "What you think Adi?" Angel asked as she did a pose whilst pointing at the plant.

As the puff came all the way from the greenhouses with his talking toadstool, he finally made it to the lake. He smiled and it seemed gorgeous here today. He even saw Adi and Angel were here. He made sure to be away from them. He went to the other side of the lake and find a nice spot for his talking toadstool. It was safe and quiet and he could be him lonesome. He brought his tools from the greenhouse to help him dig a hole for his plant.

He put his plant down to the side and began to dig a hole for the little guy. He used his shovel and dug and dug till it was deep enough for his toadstool. He placed it gingerly down and patted it down. He covered up his toadstool and it looked nice and comfy. "There you go little guy.." he said. Now the step is to water the plant. Should be simple enough.

It had taken some consideration of lovely spots for her little toadstool to rest, but in the end Lux decided that the lake would serve as the perfect spot. This way it would have a lovely view of the water in the warmer months, and pretty ice to look at in the winter. Looked like she was not the first one to think of this idea, but that was okay since Professor Millard said it was okay as long as there was distance between the different toadstools which would not be a problem as far as she could see.

Once she had judged a good spot that was not too near any of the other plants or the water, Lux set her little pot down on the ground. Time to dig a hole for the little guy to live in. After putting her gloves on, Lux got to her knees and started digging with one of the little trowels from the greenhouse. As she worked she hummed a song to herself and it didn't take long for her to have a big enough hole. Carefully the Talking Toadstool was transferred to the soil. Using her hands she covered the roots with the freshly dug earth.

There, now her little plant was as snug as a bug in a rug.

Time to water his plant. Once he dug a hole for his little toadstool he managed to get a watering can from the greenhouse and began to lightly water the outer rim of the toadstool. It seemed to be sucking the water and it was really thirsty. He gave it a little more till he saw it didn't need anymore. He nodded and was done with the assignment. That assignment wasn't too bad at all. He was happy to have helped this plant and give it a new home.

Now what to do next? He heard his stomach rumble and he was gonna make his way to the great hall and get some grub.

Smiling, Lux knew that it was time for her to water her toadstool now so that it wouldn't get thirsty.

She had planned to use Aguamenti, but on second thought decided that it might not be gentle enough and a watering can might be better. Rushing back to the greenhouse, she returned a little while later with a small one that she set on the ground.

After filling it with water, she fed the little toadstool while making sure to be very careful. It should do okay on its own from now though she enjoyed taking care of it. If only more classes and assignments could be like this and the distraction was always welcome.

Now that she was done the assignment she would return the watering can and trowel then get something to eat from the kitchens because she was getting hungry.

"I'm always around,'' the boy said as he tilted his head to survey Angel. "Benny's ditching you, huh? I bet he's got his head in a book every free second he gets.'' Which was a good thing since OWLs were in a few months but the bestie needed to remember to have some fun too. Adi kneeled back to admire his handiwork. He Talking Toadystool looked quite comfy there. Yup.

Right! This toadstool would be needing water. Adi reached for his wand but then his eyes were snapping towards Angel. Benny the dream boat? LOL. He had never thought of his bestie like that obviously buuuuut it didn't stop him from a funny response. "I think he's the hottest dragon to ever roam this earth, Angel.'' Get it? Hottest dragon? Since dragons breathed fire.

"She's not avoiding you. You two worked in History of Magic together, didn't you?" He wasn't getting dragged into sister squabbles if he could avoid it. Hehe. "But new friends are always great. As long as you don't forget about your old ones.'' Like him.

The Puffer snorted. He never got how girls worked with long nails nor why they fretted over them when one got broken. He nodded in approval at Angelfish's toadstool. "It looks great. Don't forget to give it some water.'' Speaking of water... he held the wand at its roots. "Aguamenti!'' He concentrated so that there was just a trickle of water falling before quickly stopping the charm. "Finite!''
