The beautiful serenity of the Black Lake has been admired for years and years, not to mention being one of Hogwarts' top hang out spots! The water stretches for miles and is home to an array of different sea creatures, and though most will not bother you, it is advised for students to not swim further than the in-water signs suggest.
Help? Of course she wanted help. She couldn't exactly make all these dragons on her own, now could she? Well, she probably could, but it would take a long time and then there was that issue of control. Two heads and four hands would be better than one and two for this task. And she trusted Zeke. Especially given his first question was how and not why.
Amur waved him over, massive grin in place. "Would love it." And would be foolish to deny it.
She thought about handing him one of her socks to fill up, and then thought better of it. People tendy to be picky about holding other people's foot clothing. "I just want to get a feeeew more rocks," so like, two more sock-loads, "and then I think we'll have enough." Maybe.
Maybe they needed more. Ambition. By the grin on Zeke's face, she could tell he had it.
"Oh, but there's two rules to this." She straightened and tried to turn very serious. It was hard. "First, they have to stay small. Or, as small as they are created." Cause really, all Professor Quigley had said was that they couldn't enlarge them. If they started out large, well now that was a nice loophole, wasn't it?
"So, we need to find a boulder." Yup. Totally needed a boulder.
And the second, the second was really important. "Two, we have to maintain control of them."

He was expecting a 'sure' or something to that effect, but what she actually ended up saying was so much better. He was totally in with this. HE WAS IN. "Awesome," he replied, adding a head-bop for the sake of being cool with things. Totally COOL. "I can do that," he added, figuring collecting the rock pebble things would be done quicker if they BOTH went at it.
Descending the slight slope, Zeke kicked off his own shoes and socks, but not so he could transport pebbles in them, just because he HATED shoes. So, WEEEEE... free toes! Slipping off his jacket - because he didn't mind a slight chill AT ALL - he laid it out on the floor and started tossing pebbles on it. "How many is a few?" he asked, "is that like... ten, or ten thousand?" he clarified... cause girls could be all sorts of weird and crazy where estimates were involved. Like Emily, if she said a few minutes, it was quite literally three or four minutes... but if she said a few chocolates... it could be up to ALL THE CHOCOLATE THEY HAD. See, women were cray. Amur was no exception to this rule, he was sure.
But wait, hold on... rules?
Straightening up, he listened, mirroring Amur's serious expression. No enlarging... and they had to control them.
Easy, no?
A BOULDER!
And then it hit him.
"You know the wooden bridge? Over the ravine thing? Isn't the cliff side with the rocky bits technically fair game for ONE MASSIVE DRAGON?" Was that even possible? Never mind that the bridge was connected, they could... evacuate it for safety, no?
OR!
"Pride rock!" he beamed, "I'm sure Professor Airey wouldn't mind... it's technically for study." And he was a boulder, AND they could take it to bed with them. But like... separately... of course. They'd need a roster of that of course, and rosters could get all sorts of messy.
James looked at her and laughed, "Spontaneous?" He smirked and looked at her and then back at the picnic set up. "I thought today we could switch roles. I'll be spontaneous you can be predictable," he said with a chuckle.
"Well then you haven't tried enough of my cooking if you think that," he said with a smirk and laughed as she poked his nose. He nodded at her question and walked over to the blanket. "Well I can but just thought I'd make sure." He sat down and looked up at her. "It's not much but...well thought you could use a nice evening after everything."
Vinnie chuckled slightly when he described her as spontaneous....that was something no one had ever said about her and she liked it. Spontaneous was a good thing, like adventurous. "You're doing a great job at it i must say", she grinned and nodded. That picnic definitely wasn't expected. The things he did for her were...amazing.
"I haven't died from any of it so....", she laughed and squished him," i mean you know my cooking skills."The brunette used to make loads of dishes for...yeah, him. But since her problem she hadn't really gotten into it again. If they really went to that cooking class though, she might get back into him, with james by her side.
Sitting down next to him she just beamed at him. She really couldn't help it. He was made to be beamed at, definitely. "That's so thoughtful of you. I really don't deserve you babe." This was going to be one beautiful evening.

James grinned and looked at her, "Thanks. I do try every now and again." He started pulling things out of the basket and chuckled, "Well there's a first time for everything so hopefully you won't this time either." He smiled at her and shook his head, "You cook perfectly fine. We should really do that class though. If only to have some fun."
He smiled at her and laughed as she kept looking at him, "Why are you looking at me that way?" He set a soda down in front of her and chuckled, "Don't deserve me? That doesn't make sense at all." He grabbed a plate and put a slice of pizza on it for her before handing her the plate. "Enjoy!" he said with a grin.
He grabbed his own and took a big bite out of it. "You get your acceptance letter yet?" he said around a mouth full of pizza.

As if she would die from his food, he had gone mental now. Maybe she should feel his head...but then they were here and people were gonna be here at some point for sure and she couldn't get too close. Or something like that." I guess we will find out in a bit", she laughed," at least i would die in your arms." She wasn't planning to do that today though.
Ohhh he wanted to do the class? That sounded like fun. " We have a deal then, cause my cooking really isnt good. You just haaave to say that." Nudging him she grinned a little, of course she was just teasing him. But the brunette was in a good mood.
"Am i not allowed to look at you anymore?", Vinnie laughed and tried to stop that beam on her face, without success. After taking the plate she put the piece of pizza in her mouth immediately mmmhh.. this was good. Pizza was amazing, really. "Totally makes sense." He just couldnt and would never admit it.
Uni...yeah...well. "Not yet but i am hoping." If she didnt get any letters she would be so sad. The Slytherin had made up plans already and it would be a pity if they were crashed by her own lack of ability. Sigh.

James looked at her and raised an eyebrow. "Not particularly a thought I want to focus on right now..." Her dying in his arms. That was a little toooo real for him. That wouldn't do to dwell on her dying. Nope not at all.
Smirking he looked at her and shook his head, "Nope I don't have to say it. I wouldn't say anything I didn't mean you know that." He opened the soda and took a sip. "But it should be fun. Can start a food fight in class see you all covered in flour," he smirked at her and looked out at the lake.
"You can look at me," smiles and nudged her. "You're looking at me...the way I look at you." Was definitely different but that was the only way he could describe it. "Your eyes give you away," he said with a smirk and took another bite of pizza. "How do you figure I'm too good for you?"
"Maybe they're just slow sending them off. I did send mine out early." And he was practically a genius so there was that bonus. Heh. No ego there at all of course. "I'm sure you'll get in."

"Lets not focus on it...focus on me being here?", she smiled and took his hand. She was alive and everything was okay. A few months back she wouldn't have thought that would ever happen to her again...like she had felt like the world was gonna end. And now she was happy...no one could ever understand how grateful she was for that.
Taking the soda out of his hand she took a big sip and grinned." You're such a smartiepants you know that? What am i gonna do with you?!" Sometimes it was very had being so close to a ravenclaw....but she had a thing for ravenclaws, there was no way out and this one was a special one. "so you just want to go there to throw flour at me?" And then there were moments were the brunette just had to laugh about his not so ravieness.
"And thats a bad thing?", she chuckled. Cause if she looked at him the way he looked at her...it should make him feel good, warm inside. Hopefully it did. If not...she was terrible sorry because she couldnt stop. "Because its true babe."
Hopefully he was right and they were just slow at sending stuff out. Usually he was right...cause he was a freaking genius. No wonder all the unis wanted him. " Maybe....i'll just keep waiting." Now..pizza.Yum.

James smiled at her and squeezed her hand a grin forming on his face. Hand holding out in public? Making progress. He smirked and gave her a nod. “I like that much better. You here with me has a special ring to it.” Yup it did indeed. He ran his thumb over the back of her knuckles like he always did when they were alone.
He gasped as she took his soda and looked at her unopened one. “Now that’s just rude,” he teased as he watched her. “Well yes, we’ve covered that remember? It’s my job. And I’m sure you could think of things to do with me,” he said smirking and took a bite of his pizza. “No not just to throw flour at you but it would be pretty dang amusing seeing you all messy for a change,” he said with a chuckle.
He shook his head and smiled at her fondly. “It is absolutely not a bad thing.” His lips twitched and he glanced at her, “It makes me happy.” Mainly because it meant she absolutely felt the same way about him as he did for her and that made him incredibly happy. “How is it true though? Why do you think I’m too good for you? In my mind I’m perfect for you.” Yup and he would continue to think so just like she was perfect for him.
Smiling he nodded and took another bite of the pizza, “Just wait and see. I’m sure you got in and we can go throw massive university parties together.” He smiled and took his soda back taking anther sip.

Vinnie smiled at him when she flet him squeeze his hand. This felt nice and right. If someone walked by now...she wouldnt care, cause right now in the moment she felt the happiest she had in ages. "A special ring?", she grinned. He always knew what to say and how to say it to make her feel good about anything basically. She wasnt gonna let go of his hand, nope.
When she saw the shocked look on his face the brunette started to laugh. This was hilarious. "Sharing is caring you know." Obviously she could have just opened her can of soda but she'd much rather have some of his. For whateber reason. She just enjoyed playing. "BUT i outsmarted you a couple of times." Yup, she was reallllly proud of that. Outsmarting a ravie was a big deal, especially when it was her ravie. Hehe." I definitely can think of stuff to do with you." But they would include the pizza not being finished and pizza was just too good to go to waste.
See her all messy for a change?! The thing was....when did she not look messy? Did he see a different person here?!"You've already seen me messy in the morning", she chuckled and took a bite of her pizza," but if you want to cover me in flour, i wont protest." He could be sure to be covered in flour too though. There would be a fiiiiight and they would probably get kicked out of the class. Hahahaha.
It was reallllly hard not to beam at him ONCE again when he said those words....and to be honest Vinnie didnt WANT to stop, so she didnt. He just made her happy and if she made him happy in return there was nothing more she could ask for."I am glad it does", she smiled and ran her thumb over his hand," even incredibly happy. Thats huge." Why did she think he was too good for her? There were a million reasons she thought that way. But he had so much faith in her, in them, it was catching. " You are perfect to me, thats very true."
Uni parties sounded good, she wanted to go to all the parties with him. Whenever they went to have some fun it turned out to be a great night, so that was one more reason she HAD to get into uni." I am just going to believe you there. We're gonna be the uni crashers." Laughing at the image in her head she took a sip of her own soda this time.

James smiled at her question and after a quick look around to make sure no one was within earshot grinned, “Not as special a ring to it calling you my girlfriend.” He smirked at her and kissed her hand not bothering to look around to see if anyone was watching this time. HE didn’t particularly care and if she did then they may need to have a different conversation.
Pffft. “Sharing is caring if you ask first,” he teased. He couldn’t even pretend to be mad at her. It was pretty amusing really. It was fun to tease her though and that he did pretty well. He laughed at her statement and shook his head, “Nope, I totally let you win those things.” Well not really but she knew that. “I’d call it luck really rather than outsmarting.” Mmhmm. He smirked at her words and looked over to spot a girl collecting rocks or something. “Hmmm I can too. But too bad just going to have to suffice with thinking those things,” he said with a wink and took another bite of his pizza.
Feeling her thumb running along his hand this time he grinned, “If you’re going to try and keep it from people though you have to stop looking at me that way,” he said chuckling. “That’s how Amelia realized something was going on when really there wasn’t earlier this year. How I looked at you.” He listened to her and laid down on the blanket, “You’re perfect to me too. In all ways.” Yup and he’d thought so since they met.
He laughed at her remark and looked up at her from his spot on the ground, “Uni crashers? Like the equivalent of wedding crashers where we go where we’re not invited?” He chuckled and fumbled for his pizza on his plate to get another bite. “I was thinking more like hosts of the parties personally though crashing seems a lot more fun and less work.”

Vinnie didnt know why but there was something so sweet in him looking around before doing what he wanted to to. That was one of the million reasosns she adored him so much. he was so thoughtful and caring. "That should be the most special for sure", she grinned. For a long time at least, there were upgrades obviously but yeah not right now. They had reached the highest level for right now and she loved it.
So she head to ask first if she wanted his pizza or hoodie or drink?! Pffft, where was the fun in thaaaat. "Naaahhhhh you know you want to share with me baby." He didnt have any other chance anyway. Hehe. She was just too fast for him, there was proof for this. Absolutely. " You LET me win?!, the brunette snorted and raised an eyebrow amused," just keep lying to yourself,if that makes you feel better. But we know the truth." She totally outsmarted him , even though luck had been on her side since she had met him this was going tooo far. Poor boy couldnt handle it. " Maybe they can happen later. Who knows. You gotta behave though." Siiiiiigh, it was so much fun to tease him.
Biting into a slice of pizza the brunette wondered how she would stop looking at him the way she did. Like...how did you change it when you werent even aware of what you were doing?! Was there a spell?"Amelia saw the way you look at me...and then?", she smiled a little. Her best friend just knew her well, maybe that was it...orrr she could look inside of peoples heads. Which would make sense, an awesome power for an awesome person. Watching him lay down she grrrriiiiiiinnned like an idiot. "I am not perfect but if you think so, thats all i need."
Laying down on the blanket next to him the Slytherin snuggled into the boy next to her and wrapped an arm around him. " Yeah that was exaaaactly my thought, all the fun but no work. "Throwing parties was fun too..but if people already were throwing them...why not join.Smirk.

James grinned and nodded, “Most special indeed. Most important too really.” Whether everyone else knew it or not it didn’t really matter. What mattered is they knew what was going on and everyone else can keep their opinions to themselves. He looked at her with a smirk and bit his lip throwing an irritated glance at the people that had shown up at the lake. SIIIIIIIIIIGH. Frustrating.
Laughing he shook his head, “You know what…you know me way too well because I totally would share anything with you and you know it.” Maybe he should be less obvious about things but then he wouldn’t be him so…that wouldn’t work. He smirked as she called him out and chuckled. “Or maybe…I just was so distracted that I didn’t know what was going on.” Yup that was totally it. His lips twitched as she spoke and he chuckled. “Oh I always behave you know that.” Pfffft. “But later sounds promising.” He sipped at his drink and looked back out at the lake. It really was his favorite spot on the grounds.
He shrugged at her question and pulled off a piece of pepperoni and ate it. “Then we had a discussion. She’s a good friend to you. Just wants the best for you.” He liked Amelia for that really and she’d been right. Give Vinnie some space. It seemed to work anyway. He grinned at her and shook his head. “You are perfect to me and that’s all that should matter. I don’t think I’m perfect either but you think so. I’m pretty sure everyone is like that unless they’re a narcissist.”
He turned his head as she laid down beside him on the blanket and smirked. Holding hands and cuddling in public. Double progress. He put his hand on her arm and grinned. Slowly but surely, though he wouldn’t be surprised if everyone who saw them together could figure out what was going on anyway. They couldn’t seem to stop being all cute together. “I wonder how different it’ll be from here. Like school wise.”
He was expecting a 'sure' or something to that effect, but what she actually ended up saying was so much better. He was totally in with this. HE WAS IN. "Pride rock!" he beamed, "I'm sure Professor Airey wouldn't mind... it's technically for study." And he was a boulder, AND they could take it to bed with them. But like... separately... of course. They'd need a roster of that of course, and rosters could get all sorts of messy.
This, this was exactly why she had agreed to Zeke's help. For one, he was all in it like a raccoon on garbage, kicking off shoes and socks. For two, he asked how many was too few, rather than too much. For three, he thought of possibilities, rather than impossibilities.
She stuffed a few more pebbles in her sock and then tossed it up to the main rock pile before turning to her fellow Gryffindor. Amur was grinning widely and nodding, over and over and over again. "You, are brilliant, Zeke! Just BRILLIANT." So brilliant she could also hug him for it, but just...no.
Gathering up her second sock, she began stuffing more pebbles into it with earnest. "Maybe, we should do the small ones first, and then work our way up to the big ones?" Get a lot of practice in before attempting the motherlode. "And I'm sure Professor Flamsteed won't mind. He has a thing about rocks." If, Zeke hadn't noticed already. Which she was sure he had.
The rocks clunk-clunked on top of one another as she stuffed them in the stretching sock. They were definitely going to be too big for her feet now, but she didn't mind. They were creating dragons! "Gonna have to think of a way to keep the bridge in place though. Maybe a ridgeback?"
Ridge...back. Sounded like it could support a bridge.

......but what should THEY be sorry for? No one had told him to try and be a hero...and that went for all of them. Gryffindors. Didn't they know that when in doubt, RUN? He personally seen no shame in it.
Taking some deep breaths, Gabe decided to ignore whatever else Puck was saying. He was already past his limit for the day, thanks...and he didn't want to be a jerk. Not when they weren't finished yet.
"An alternative could be...the lake?" Moving right along, stepping out of the forest.
.
.
...and he seen Quigley moving past them. Gabe picked up his pace, following the man out. To the lake?
She had seen – oh god. Her friends! She’d left them in the forest like they didn’t mean anything to her no. She – they deserved so much better than her the ice queen. “Oh god” she gulped out as she made it to the lake and pressed her hands against her knees.
Right.
Straight to work.
Was he an android?
Nodding her head slowly she stood there by the water’s edge. “Yeah, the lake sounds good.” She nodded and took a deep breath. “Its…less deadly? And…no one’s died in it recently” she muttered and brushed her hand through her hair. Was she green? She felt a bit sickly.

Vinnie just smiled and snuggled into him, he was the most adorable human being she had ever seen. "Most important too? Even more important than chocolate?!" Of course she was just messing a little but his obsession with chocolate was just soo funny. Not that she would deny a good piece of chocolate. Unfortunately people started to arrive and the brunette hid her face in his shoulder. Why did they have to ruin this?! Whatever.
Know him too well?! There was no such thing, she loved knowing him. There were so many little details that made him who he was and she was still figuring them all out,"I thought you were mister predictable? I HAVE to know you." How would he predictable if she didnt know him?! The consistency of his actions and behaviour just made her feel save and the slytherin didnt want it to change. It made her feel at ease...something she had never felt before....like if she walked away from him know he would still be there and be the same. "Pffft right just blame it on me for distracting you." Chuckling she shook her head, this was so typical. She had outsmarted him, no matter what he said. Hehe. " You mean you never behave...but later is better than never." They'd definitely do it later. They were free birds now and they could do whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted.
Finishing her slice of pizza the slytherin watched him eat that piece of pepperoni and chuckled a little. Only he would eat it in different stages, so ravenclaw, analysing everything. Even his pizza. " I know. She's the best really. I love her to bits." If there was a person she could always count on it was Amelia. And phoenix. They had been through a lot together and Vinnie was so grateful to have them. " I just dont want her to hate you, you know? You seemed to get along fine." When he said she was perfect to him she just shook her head a little. That was so surreal. People had told her a lot in the past years but nothing had felt so genuine. "Definitely no narcissists, mister educator." He just couldnt help it could he?! He was too damn smartiepants-ish. A cute smartiepant though.
Uni still felt so far away but if the seventh year thought about it, it was only a couple of months from now they'd be uni students. That was a very scary thought...and she was glad she didnt have to go through it alone." Hmm...i bet its very different. People and school wise." Everyone was new and you focused on one subject only. A subject you had picked. That was gonna be great, not to have to keep up with stuff you werent interested in.

James smiled as Vinnie snuggled into him again and he tightened his arm around her. “Yes, most important even more important than chocolate,” he chuckled and kissed her cheek with a grin. He chuckled as she buried her head in his shoulder and leaned his head against hers. “I don’t even know them I doubt they care. James grabbed at his soda and leaned up far enough to take a sip.

Shrugging he finished his slice and reached for another putting it on the plate. “I’d hope so she’s your best friend.” And best friends should be loved to bits. He nodded as she spoke, “I bet it is. It’ll be nice not having to take certain classes because they’re required. A nice change really I think.” He smiled and picked at another piece of the pepperoni. “I bet we can take most of the same classes if we’re the same major.” That’d be fun though hopefully it didn’t distract him. He smirked and sipped a this soda again.
Kace decided to go and check out the lake and see what all the commotion he was missing. He loved coming here when it was nice and warm. He was really getting sick of winter and he wanted warmer weather. I mean today was just a tease of the spring weather. He saw Vinnie was there with James. He saw James kiss her cheek and he eyed them suspiciously, if Brae saw this he would SO flip. He shrugged it off and minded his own business. He didn't want to get involved.
He went to the side of the lake and got out a notebook and started writing. He liked to write some stories by the lake. He felt it was calming and relaxing. He wondered if he would run into anyone here he knew. Usually he did or possibly meet new people.

Did he not appreciate her excited grass-tossing? She didn't do that often...or at all. Pssh. Finn should feel honored. "Grass as a potions ingredient. Very clever of you, Mister Quotes." Testing out that name. She rubbed her chin thoughtfully. "I do like mixing ingredients together, I might try that this summer." Her dad might not appreciate the mess if another green slob monster oozed from her cauldron, but it was all for educational purposes. Right.
Beverly took his laughter as a go, so Mister Quotes, the Dandelion Finder was sticking with him for forever. Yes.
Her hand flew to her mouth as a giggle escaped. Discovered? Funny. "I'm one of those unsolvable mysteries. You can look for all the clues and never find the answer." That's how she kept away from the gossip radar. Except for that one time, but it was ONLY that one time. Mystery and danger, Beverly tossed her hair behind her shoulder all cool-like. "You know me so well already, Finn." That would go down on her resume.
Beverly Juniper Wayne: All about the mystery and danger.
She tucked all of the dandelions into her pouch, then looked over at him. "If you'd like? It's almost supper time." Beverly glanced at her surroundings, twisting the small tie of the pouch between her fingers. "We...can walk back together?" If he'd like. They were going the same way, weren't they?
Yeah, Finn didn't want Beverly to feel bad so he completely dropped it. He smiled a little at her words, even laughed, quietly though, "Yeah-yeah I guess it does." See, no weirdness at all?
"My pleasure- Dragonlord." HAH. How funny did that sound? Finn only said it to go along with her. See if she liked hearing it aloud. She probably did. He wold be awaiting her reaction. It was kinda nice knowing that she would take his ideas and use them for herself, that he helped and all. Even if the potion, for whatever it was for didn't work out, she would still consider the grass. "Tell me.. tell me how it goes?" Yeah, she should. He was like the helper of it in some ways.
Eyebrow raise. Did Beverly's laugh just get.... squeaky? He tried to shake it off and pretend he imagined it. Beverly wasn't that type of girl, was she? "I won't even... even try to solve you." He simply said, smiling slightly. She even said it was impossible. The boy would not waste his effort on something pointless. "Do-do I?" Nope. No he didn't. Beverly was just saying that so he could feel better or something. Ok, but he had to laugh. In fact, he was laughing so hard he could barely say what he wanted to, "You..." Laugh, head shake, smiling "Look like- like Agatha." More laughing and smiling. It made him wonder if they taught each other that. He even imitated the hair flip slightly. Please don't be insulted Beverly.
"Ye-yeah, sure, let's go together." He got up, still laughing and shaking his head, but he was trying to even out his breathing. God, please don't be insulted Beverly. Finn definitely liked today, hanging with his friend, yes. Lovely day.

What? It did sound like a sweet and she was being honest about it. Maybe it was her brain that was hardwired to food, but Finn agreed and it even amused him. Good. That meant no awkwardness or anything.
Looking up from the piece of grass she'd been twirling between her fingers, Beverly laughed. A nice, genuine laugh. "I love that, I do." It even made her chest feel all warm. Anything dragon related did. She was soooo in love with them. "I'll send you an owl over the summer if I do it." Maybe even send him a phial of it if it turned out to be something cool since he was half the brains on this.
He was leaving her mystery untouched, wasn't he nice. "Not really. It was suppose to be something close to sarcasm." She'd just told him she was unsolvable. Duh. She what? Head tilting, Beverly waited for him to continue through his laugh--
What?
. . . . .
She narrowed her eyes at him, then poked him right on his bicep, trying to fight off amusement. "I do not look like her. I'm taller." Not by much. "My hair is waaay longer. My eyes are multi-colored and...I don't look like her." Great defense there, Wayne. It had to be the hair thing maybe. Dear Agatha was famous for that. "She flips her hair." As reinforcement Beverly mimicked the Agatha-hair-flip. "I do this." Bringing her hair over her shoulder, she tossed it all behind her back in a swift move. "It's a toss, not a flip." Completely different. Now he learned something new.
Still amused and trying to hide it, though she was doing a poor job at it, Beverly stood up and dusted her robes. "Breath, Finn. I'll let it slip just this time." With a smirk his way, she lead them up the grounds and inside.

She must be somewhat unstable, surely, hence the rocks. Of course, Zeke figured he was just as unstable if that really was the case, he was only too happy to get stuck into picking them up off the back and tossing them onto the pile. He would be able to transport them to the primary pile with his jacket as soon as he felt he was done, or as soon as Amur said it was okay for him to stop. It was all the same to him.
But...
BRILLIANT?
He was BRILLIANT? It wasn't the first time he'd heard that compliment, but it was certainly not one he was used to by any stretch of the imagination. He was more accustomed to hearing how silly or dumb he had been than anything else. So this was nice.
"Thanks," he beamed, "so're you though, cause, your idea," he added.
Head down he continued collecting dragons-to-be and adding them to their growing pile. "I'm all for practice, and having a flock of dragon minions would be awesome anyway," he was not complaining. Not. At. All.
Keeping the bridge up would be a challenge for sure, and he LOVED Amur's suggestion. A Ridgeback... HAHAHAHA BRIDGEBACK!!!! "Omg that's totally genius!" he chuckled, still amused with the thought. "We're totally doing that."
Kace decided to go and check out the lake and see what all the commotion he was missing. He loved coming here when it was nice and warm. Sam, unlike his cousin Layla, had settled into school comfortably. He liked the place.. He liked living in a castle like a prince and dining like a king. He liked his comfy bed and the idea of living under a lake. He liked being a wizard even though his magical skills were lacking. Magic might not have quite lived up to what he had imagined, but the actual school had definitely lived up to expectations.
He was out for a stroll. His dog would love this place. Vast.. so much to excitedly explore, and a lake to swim in. His muggle school had what? A yard and and football field? The contrast was staggering.. But there was only one magic school in the UK. They must've got some pretty impressive funding from the Ministry of Magic. Man, he was a lucky sod being here.
He paused by the lake, bending down to select a flat looking rock and threw it toward the lake with the aim to make it skim across the surface. His aim was off. The rock didn't even travel very far before it landed and it hit the water with a CRACK followed by a massive SPLASH(!), sending spray over everything nearby.. including a lad in his own year..
She was nodding... over and over and over again. Was this normal girl behaviour? He hadn't seen anyone agree with him as much as she agreed with him now. Scary. SCARY. She must be somewhat unstable, surely, hence the rocks. Amur grinned right back at the boy. "Thanks right back!"
Best partner for this, EVER.
"Totally. We just have to be careful not to let any of them get out of hand. Professor Quigley said he'd quarter me, and then I promised him the dragons would eat him, and then he promised he would blow them up. I didn't have a good comeback, so we have to be careful...ish." It was all stated matter-of-factly. Those were the rules and the consequences. The careful-ish, well that was because little fun came out of doing things too carefully.
She stuffed several more rocks in her socks. "I can't believe there aren't other students doing this." Really, they just learned a spell on how to create dragons. Why would they not use it? She paused and looked over at the second year. He'd been here a while, maybe he could provide some insight. "Does it happen often, this leaving learned spells in the classroom? I mean, Professor Quigley said it wasn't a very useful spell for survival," still disagreed there, "so is that why?"
Did Hogwartians only practice useful survival skill spells?

James smiled as Vinnie snuggled into him again and he tightened his arm around her. “Yes, most important even more important than chocolate,” he chuckled and kissed her cheek with a grin. He chuckled as she buried her head in his shoulder and leaned his head against hers. “I don’t even know them I doubt they care. James grabbed at his soda and leaned up far enough to take a sip.
“You HAVE to know me?” he said with a chuckle and glanced at her. “I think you just want to know me,” he said with a smirk. “I know you pretty well,” he said with a grin and stared up at the sky. “But you don’t know everything about me. That would be boring. Then there wouldn’t be anything left for you to explore.” He smirked at her and nodded, “Oh I intend to blame you for distracting me. Only explanation really.” Yup that was his argument and he was sticking with it. He smirked and glanced at her, “I do sometimes. Not often…but sometimes. Later is better than never. Later means that it will happen sometime in the future.” And that was worth everything to him.
He raised eyebrow as her chuckle, “What?” He was just eating. Shrugging he finished his slice and reached for another putting it on the plate. “I’d hope so she’s your best friend.” And best friends should be loved to bits. He should get a guy best friend seems like he only ever hung out with girls and his brother. Maybe his brother could be his guy best friend. HA. That’d be a funny conversation. He shook his head as he pulled off another piece of pepperoni, “She doesn’t hate me. I think she just worries about you. Wanted me to not cause issues I suppose.” He laughed at the educator bit and took a huge bite of the pizza. “Yup that’s me!”
Vinnie tried to seem cool but somewhow it never worked with James...and she didnt have to be cool with him at all. Smiling up at him she got lost in his eyes for a minute. " I am honoured. Thats such a big deal. Poor chocolate." Like seriously...when they first met he bit into his chocolate bar every five seconds and right now she wasnt even sure if he had one on him. "I am not hiding from them", she laughed softly, " i am just not very pleased with having people around now." She wanted to be alone with him. Luckily none of them knew the group so there would be no awkward small talk involved.
The brunette took another sip of he her soda carefully and raised an eyebrow. "You're predictable so its easy to know you, thats what i meant." Obviously she was just teasing cause there was something new she learned about him everyday. It was great to explore someone like that. " But i want to know you too. Of course i do." There was asbolutely no reason to lie about that. So he thought he knew her well? Pffffffft...or maybe he did. " What makes you think you know me well huh?" The Slytherin totally was a mystery and a puzzle waiting to be solved, yup. Or maybe that was just what she liked to think. " There's no boring with you", she grinned and nudged him softly. People probably wouldnt expect ravenclaws to be experimental but he was. He was the best kind of ravenclaw, not the kind she knew already."Seeee you're already not behaving, blaming me for something i didnt doooo" Wasnt heeer fault she just liked capturing his attention and spending time with him. It came naturally. " I never distract you.....on purpose."
He had noticed her chuckling about the pepperoni hadnt he?! You couldnt hide anyyyything from this boy...what was gonna happen if she wanted to surprise him someday?! "Eating the pepperoni off the pizza first? Thats adorable." Anything he did was adorable, he had to life with that. Amelia definitely was the best friend she had ever had, in the past Vinnie had made very bad choices friend wise and all of her bad choices revealed themselves when they should have been there. Now the brunette was more than grateful to have the best friends on earth. " I really do, i appreciate her truly worrying about me. Its the best feeling in the world, to know someone actually cares." There was nothing to worry about with James though....it was almost scary how sure she was that he wouldnt hurt her like other people had.
It was amazing that they were very likey to do the same major. There was something comforting about knowing someone close to her was gonna be there. "I am sure we can take the same classes, maybe we'll have one or two different ones." It really depened on the courses the university was going to offer. She wouldnt mind having all courses with him at all, of course concentration and listening was important but a little distraction never hurt. Just for a minute or two.
Angel was totally lost about what to do next, she had been sat in the Gryffindor Common Room the past few weeks trying to come to terms with things, she hadn't really spoken to her sister this term and she was wondering why her sister seemed to be avoiding her, but at least they would get to speak in the summer when they went home.
Angel went over to the lake and looked around... seriously how awesome did it look. She wondered how big it was, maybe she should ask one of the Professor how far it went because it seemed to go for miles and technically if that was the case why was it called a lake?

Angel went over to the lake and looked around... seriously how awesome did it look. She wondered how big it was, maybe she should ask one of the Professor how far it went because it seemed to go for miles and technically if that was the case why was it called a lake?
The lake was one of Hady's favorite places outside of the castle. The fresh air and some sunshine was just what the second year needed today to clear her head of everything that had been happening so far this year. New friends, old friends, losing friends...it was all really hard sometimes. Not to mention lessons, homework, tests and everything else. A break was surely in order.
As she got closer she could see the blue water rippling gently with the breeze that blew past ruffling her hair. Sighing contently Hady tucked a loss strand of hair behind her ear when she spotted Angel. It had been awhile since she spoke to her. "Hey Angel!" She greeted with a small smile set in place. A friend would be nice to talk to right now.
