Keep secret until this term, this room has served as a private get away and creative space for Professor Flamsteed. A grand piano sits in one corner of the room opposite an expansive bookshelf containing the remainder of his astronomy texts, science fiction novels, and other works of fiction and nonfiction the astronomer couldn't keep in his office. A few comfy chairs and one large sofa are strung about the room in what looks like a methodical manner with some sort of hidden meaning to their placement. By the door is a large white board that the professor uses to map out ideas and complicated theories related to his research. New to the lounge this term is a sign written in large bold red letters that reads: THIEVES BEWARE!
This space is open to student use, but the door to the room may vanish from time to time when the astronomer is inside and wish not be disturbed.
OOC: should your character decide to nick something from the lounge, the dominate hand of your character will transfigured into a ball!nub the moment an item reaches a threshold (either a window or a doorway). Just a flesh colored nub. Meanwhile, the other hand turns BRIGHT RED as you, you little thief, have been caught red handed!

So the two were close and had that bond between them, almost like him and Adi maybe. At least neither of them had to save each other's hide...yet. Ben had to admit, he hadn't noticed the extra appendage belonging to the charms professor, a bit distracted with what was going on and his thoughts on the matter of what they had both escaped from. However when Flamsteed seemed to go all batty over it, it wasn't hard to notice the feline tail.
"Professor Bellaire claimed it," he remarked in answer, nodding simply at Quigley's assurance they would get it back. Benny certainly hoped so, preferably still intact. As for the story as to what had happened, the Gryffindor was more then glad to let Professor Maddox play the storyteller. It all had been his idea from the beginning and when he let himself think on it, Benny couldn't help but wonder if he had nearly planned on the interruption as well. He certainly had enjoyed the backtalk to Bellaire if not the amphibian transformation.
He listened at the tale that was being told and while it wasn't totally what had happened, it was the gist of things. The Gryffindor was almost tempted to point out that the fountain that had done the most change to the office hadn't been his idea, but he doubted it made much difference. "It wasn't meant for any harm..." Benny said, finally adding his two cents. "Or trouble." |

Temples. There was much rubbing of his temples currently being done right now. And not for the reasons that most people would be doing it. Truth be told it had always been on his personal Hogwarts staff bucket list to get Professor Bellaire...he was just taking his time getting around to her. Ahem.
So...Airey maaaaaaaaaay have been a little disappointed that he had not been included on this little endeavor. Although, seeing how the pair had epically gone down in flames despite having some success...he was also somewhat alright with having been left out. Toad hues did nothing for his features. Same went for you, Maddox.
"Out of the goodness of your heart, eh?" he said, rolling his head towards Maddox and lifting an eyebrow as if to say 'surely you don't expect me to believe that?'...which he very well would have said out loud...but it also went without saying. Everyone in the room here knew that that was a load of space debris. "I swear...sometimes I wonder if you don't do things in such a manner that you get purposefully caught." He took a quick glance towards the Gryffindor. "Not you, Mr. Atreyu. Although I hope your collateral damage will not cost you your studies."
Merlin. He really had become one of THOSE professors.
"I'll see to it that you have a wand to use during essential lessons and exams until I am able to speak with Professor Bellaire about her returning yours to you." Sweet solstice what was it with Gryffindors and getting their wands confiscated?!
"Is there anything else I ought to know?" he asked, his arms folded across his chest while his right foot tapped impatiently against the ground.

"Forever the skeptic, eh Airey?" It was all the same to him whether or not the man believed him. These cushions were marvelous, the kind that made you want to take a nap after so much physical exertion so he couldn't be bothered with trying to be convincing and especially not with someone who was far more inclined to never believe a word he said. "And where's your imagination? Getting caught is half the fun." Being rescued was equally important...yes. Very much.
Maddox was amused by the declaration that it wasn't meant to cause harm, as evident by the smirk that appeared. The innocence of a child, it never got old and would serve to help his story later should things blow up. So yeah...you keep thinking that Mister Atreyu and they would be out of the woods yet.
"Nothing else I can think of. The case is pretty open and shut at this point. We did a kind deed and were attacked viciously and without mercy. She HIT me, Airey but being the gentleman I am, you know I took it gracefully. So good my skin doesn't bruise easily or my wife would have cause for concern." That was an important addition to the story, one he hoped would spread maliciously. Bellaire; the violent hag that didn't appreciate butterflies. It had a nice ring to it.
"Outside of that...." He turned to face the young Gryffindor, already at complete leisure. "That'll be 5 points for brilliant execution, Mister Atreyu." The boy asked very little questions--which was admittedly a problem but not in this case. No. It served Maddox just well.

Benjamin was trying on read how the situation or story in Flamsteed's case was playing off the two men. Professor Quigley certainly seemed his positive and enthisiastic self despite the toad set-back and getting caught. While the astronomy professor was currently rubbing his temples as he took it all in. Great...just great. The Gryffindor had been trying not to be one of the fifth year lions that DIDN'T cause their head of house added grief this year.
"I hope so too," he mused in agreement, working to keep positive about the future of him and his wand. There were still a few weeks of the term and there would be classes no doubt scheduled for that time and the OWLs looming off in the close distance that he had to be concerned about. "Thank you sir," Benny remarked with a half-nod at the offer of assistance from Flamsteed. It would be something...even if it wasn't HIS wand and likely wouldn't quite work for him like HIS wand did.
It had be better than no wand for sure.
Innocence of a child or no, it wasn't like even as a prank it was a horrible thing. It wasn't their fault that Bellaire was against the idea of butterflies...and a large fountain...in her office. And placed there while she was out and without her advance knowledge. Ben shook his head as the two charmers were asked if there was anything further, feeling like their wasn't anything they could really add. Though as Professor Quigley turned to him, the Gryffindor was taken aback as the man had something to add.
Points...to him.
That was unexpected.
"Um...thank you." It felt weird getting such from a professor for technically getting in trouble from another. | |

Airey fake gasped and wore a forced look of hurt on his slender features. "Skeptic? When it comes to you and your actions? Never," he chided with a few clicks of his tongue. He simply shook his head at Maddox's next words. Where was HIS imagination? The astronomer always had his head in the clouds - often time literally - and thus not needing a response. "You're only saying that because you weren't turned into a French cuisine."
Getting caught then obviously would not have been much fun. Fact. Then again, the Charms professor wouldn't have been feeling much of anything due to, er, circumstances.

Anyway.
"Right then. Well....you may as well hang low here for a bit. She won't be able find you in here with the entrance missing like it is at present," he said settled in at the piano and ran his fingers over the keys. "Got any requests?"
