Stepping into the arena, you are immediately enveloped with the light shining into the room, either morning or evening depending on what time you decide to enter. If you can tear your gaze away from the intricately designed windows and high ceilings could, you can see to the very right of the room, there is the long platform in which supervised duels will take place while four benches on either side are placed at a safe distance for those who would like to sit and watch. Just ahead of the platform in the right corner, there is a door, though pay no attention to it. It's locked for a reason.
Towards the back wall, there are various types of practice dummies, both stationary and moving, depending on what difficulty the practicer wants. Don't be afraid to go all out with your spells, for these dummies are charmed to repair themselves. There is one practice dummy set aside that will shoot spells back to the practicer, however, permission from a Professor is required to use it. To the left side of the arena are two sets of stands, eight seats high, that look out to the entire arena, comfortable for those who would just like to watch what's going on all around or for general purposes such as studying or relaxing after a long day in the arena.
The middle of the room is quite empty, due to the fact that the defense Professor enjoys presenting lessons in here, but please, despite the brilliant light that shines through the arena due to the large windows, it is not some place to sunbathe or fall asleep. You will be levitated out with a good dose of cold water splashed on you if caught.

He had to admit it was mildly amusing, though thankfully not as gross as the spell Angel had got the other boy with time they dueled.

Merlin, that was a big one! Adi's mind cleared for a fraction of a second for him to remember that this spell (thankfully) wears off after a short while. Goody! At least it would not affect all of this duel and the Healer wouldn't need to see his face again.

The lion was trying to think, to make sense of stuff but there was still a fuzz on the brain and his thoughts. "Woah...what?" he said confused as he felt like an invisible hand had grabbed him and raised him up, making it now a few feet beneath him to the floor. He couldn't help his limbs as they flailed around with him as if trying to find the ground.
At Adi's move to the left, the Gryffindor moved to his right.

That hadn't been the spell he had been going for. No, it had been another he had thought, something that would work against Adi, not that he could fix it now. Feeling himself lowered back down, Benny shook his head, trying to clear the last of the cobwebs from his brain as his feet once more touched the floor. A snort escaping in reaction to the mention of Dragon Airlines or something of the sort. He had barely a few moments of a reprieve before the next round was begun and a red spell was sent his way.
Raising his wand in defense, he hadn't gotten the incantation for a shield out before it hit, his legs turning to jelly in response. The Gryffindor wibbled and wobbled this way and that as Benny tried to focus his thoughts onto his own retailiation.
"Cantis!" he cast, aiming at his friend, his mind latching onto a spell the Hufflepuff had used before on him.

The spell had worked full tilt unlike when it had been tried on him and the Hufflepuff was using his vocal chords. Apparently much to his surprise by his reaction and the clamp over his mouth. The Gryffindor couldn't help but chuckle at the whole image that was presented before him.
That would teach his bestie to teach him a spell like that.
Taking the reprieve granted him by no return spell sent his way, he turned his focus and his magic on himself. "Finite..." Ben cast, pointing his aim at his legs and feeling the relief grow in the muscles there. The boy then eased himself back up to his feet tentatively, quite glad to be welcomed with relative balance.

Finally, Adi was able to shut his mouth a little moment after Benny restored his feet to normal. "Linkin Park at their best,'' he said, testing himself. Yep, all the singing was gone. Incoming water! Instead of using a spell to defend himself, the Hufflepuff did something that came naturally. More of a reflex for people, really. He dodged out of the path of the water. No one was going to drown the Badger today. Hehe.
Adi was ready with a return spell. "Impedimenta!'' With a horizontal movement of his wand, turquoise light shot from his wand.

Soooooo. It seemed that Benny didn't recognise the band's name. Oh well. Adi wasn't expecting that but he knew one thing. He needed to get the other dude into music. Yup.
Back to the Duel!
Incoming water! Instead of using a spell to defend himself, the Hufflepuff did something that came naturally. More of a reflex for people, really. He dodged out of the path of the water. No one was going to drown the Badger today. Hehe.
Adi was ready with a return spell. "Impedimenta!'' With a horizontal movement of his wand, turquoise light shot from his wand.
Awww no soaking wet hippogriff. Another miss of one of his spells and all Adi had had to do was step out of the way of the jet of water coming from his wand. Okay, so that was a spell that didn't quite work well in a duel. Benny would have to keep that in mind for any future duels.

Benny leveled his wand once more as the turquise light headed his way. "Prote----go" The spell had moved faster then he expected and the Gryffindor stopped in place as the spell hit before the shield was fully formed. Oh man....how long did this last? What could he do? The fifth year's mind was racing with questions to himself as he thought of his next move.

Benny looked funny freezing up all of a sudden. Hehe. The shield Charm had been useless for the Jinx and this could prove to be a great advantage for Adi.
"Expelliarmus!'' Adi did the wand movement which went as though he were tracing out the numeral 6. Hopefully the scarlet light would not be abruptly bought to a halt if that Shield Charm was still lingering there. If it was, maybe it wouldn't be as strong as it should be since Benny had gotten hit with the spell before being able to complete the incantation.

So the scarlet light of the spell got through and hit the Gryffindor's arm and all he could do was absently watch as his spell was loosed from his grasp and fell to the floor several feet away.

Annnnd the disarming spell had it's expected effect. Benny's wand clattered to the floor and soon afterward its owner regained his mobility. "Guess it does,'' Adi said cheerfully. "But you didn't do so bad yourself, dragon. You'll probably get me next time.'' Well, not probably but most likely. It was impossible to have a pattern in terms of winners when it came to dueling Benny.
After Benny retrieved his wand, Adi suggested, ''How about a quick snack before we hit the books?'' Food was always good, especially if it involved visiting the Kitchen and seeing the elves.

Kace wanted to go and check out the dueling arena. Maybe he might meet a worthy competitor. As he made his way into the arena and such he noticed only one dude was there. He seemed to be stretching and getting prepared. Should he be stretching too? Maybe to make himself look more athletic than he already was. He put down his supplies and stretched out and cracked some knuckles and wrists. He eyed the dude and he looked familiar.
As he turned around and saw his face, he smiled and knew the guy. "Sup Cutty!" he greeted him. "It has been a while. You wanna duel together?" he asked pointing to the arena. Why not have friendly competition.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
His first intention of going to the Dueling Arena was to practise his dueling skills on one of the dummies. But he quickly changed his mind and thought it would be better if he actually dueled with someone else. The last duel he had had was in his first year when he battled against Professor Flamsteed, which had been horrible by the way. Getting confunded and carried out of the room in princess hold was NOT funny.
He was a fourth year now though so he had more knowledge than the simple spells. He pushed the door open and entered the room, grinning the moment he saw Kace....stretching... "sup, idiot" he grinned towards the Hufflepuff before looking at Cutty and nodded his head at him. He didn't have a nickname for him yet...that had to change!
"You sure you can duel, Lecium?" look at that, he said his name instead of idiot! "you don't even know how to pronounce spells" he laughed as he sat on the dueling platform, leaning back on his elbows.

He could duel his butt off and show who is boss. Sup Idiot? He raised his eyebrows at him. He had a comeback but it wasn't appropriate for this setting. "Sup moron.." he replied back with a head nod. He saw him grinning towards him and he smirked back. THIS was gonna be fun.
Is he sure he could duel? He scoffed and nodded. "Yeah I'll make sure I won't miss. Least I can learn from my mistakes and not be a show offy git." he shrugged. "We ready for this?" he asked pointing to the dueling arena. He couldn't wait to kick some butt.

Cutty heard the voice of a Hufflepuff whose name he did not know. Stopping his stretches, he turned to see the tall blonde boy enter wearing a smile as he eased into the room. He was not surprised nor suspicious by the fact that the Hufflepuff knew his name. It was no secret that Cutty sold a number of things moste useful to the student body and word got around.
Shortly, thereafter they were joined by Kenji Hirase...who it would appear knew the Hufflepuff's name...or not. Unless his parents either hated him a great deal or were very realistic to the point of apathy towards their child's life success. Cutty assumed this to be a term of endearment between the two boys and more so when the Hufflepuff responded in kind. He returned the headnod greeting to Kenji.
They were dueling? Well, best to have our wands out, then. "That's exactly why I came here." He said confirming his agreement to duel. "Locomotor Mortis!", he said firing off the first spell toward the Hufflepuff who had invited him to duel. The propriety and formality absent in his manner as he preferred courses of action toward discussion over courses of action.
