Beside the Restricted section a new room magically appeared last year. Mr Kitridge stumbled over it when he was following a trail of rat and wombat droppings. The room was then furnished with bookshelves, a few comfy sofas, reading lamps, side tables and a few plants. On the shelves you can find books, pamphlets and magazines about any and all magical careers/professions known to exist in the magical world.
Come in, grab a magazine or book and dream about what you want to work with when you graduate from Hogwarts.
As always any questions or concerns should be run by Mr Kitridge.

And that's where she was headed today while she had some free time. But.. was this a new room? Ever curious, Nessa peered inside, brown eyes taking in the bookshelves and furniture. How cozy!
She hurried over to the bookshelf and ran her finger along some of the book spines as she looked at the titles. Eeep! There were some books on the performing arts!! She grabbed a book about History AND a book about Theater, then turned to take a seat.
Beaming and waving at the adorable students already there, she soon spotted Archie sitting on one of the sofas. She, unfortunately, had not gotten to know him well last school term, so she figured better late than never! Nessa happily made her way over to him. "Hello, Archie!" she said, in a slightly quieter voice than normal since they were in the library, and she took a seat next to him. "Are you thinking up new lesson plans through reading?" That WAS a Herbology book, was it not? She tilted her head to try to catch a glimpse of the cover. "I do that too!!" How fun! And she pointed at the books on her lap with enthusiasm.
Archie jumped in his seat when someone acknowledged him by his first name. But thank Merlin it was a fellow staff member and not a student. Otherwise Archie was about to get fussy about not being addressed as professor in public. He had earned that title. Well...
"Oh, hello..." He paused, sat up straight and squinted one eye at her. "N-Nessarose, right?" If he remembered correctly from his first feast. Archie wasn't too awful with names. "Oh..." Oh, gosh, he had been caught reading up on his own subject. He couldn't look at her properly until she said that she did the same thing. That received a sincere smile. "Really? Yes... I, umm... just trying to ease my nerves, I guess."
You know, conversing with an actual professor would do him a lot of good. He had been meaning to stop at Anastasia's office, but he certainly did NOT want to come across as wimpy in front of her.
"Got a class coming up soon." Nod. "Yeah......." Gulp.

Beaming brightly, Nessa nodded happily as he questioned her name. Perhaps he was as bad with names as she was, but he did get it right! "Yes, but of course you can call me Nessa if you like. Most people do." But she did love the sound of her full first name as well. She gave him a reassuring smile as her eyes found the book in his hands again. He did seem slightly nervous, but she was sure that was natural. "Do you know what I think is fun? One of the students suggested this once for when I was stuck for a lesson idea.. Sometimes I take a history book, flip through the pages, and let it randomly open. Then I see what topic the book opened to and see if I can plan a fun lesson about it!" It was a fun little game she played with herself, but it wasn't for every lesson. There were essentials she really felt she had to teach.
She laughed a little at the thought of it and glanced down at the book in her hands. If she hadn't already planned out her next lessons, she might do it again. Perhaps closer to the end of term. Lost in this thought a moment, Nessa glanced up as Archie spoke again and she grinned widely. "Oh, yes, of course... you must be so excited!" Or was he nervous? He seemed nervous.. "I'm sure you'll do a simply fabulous job! Annie really does have a talent for picking the best people for the job." Beam.

Nessa. Ah. It was shortened names that he always forgot. "Sure, okay... Nessa." This basically meant that they were friends now.
His head tilted to the side when she suggested an idea for planning lessons. Coming from a student, nonetheless? Interesting. "That's not a bad idea." Archie nodded, but ending with a small sigh. "There's just so much to think about... I don't want to miss anything out, you know?" Making sure it was student-friendly, was the most important thing of all. "And, of course, I want it to be FUN..." He snort!laughed. "I'm not exactly the most exciting professor to plod through the doors." Nothing like the flamboyant characters he had to share the staff table with!
Ha..
Excited.....
"Oh......... yes, I can't wait." Archie LIED. He could literally FEEL sweat falling off his face as he thought about it. His hand quickly swatted it away, though. "And I certainly wouldn't want to disappoint her... Annie, I mean. Anastasia." He smiled, almost shyly.
Uhhhh.

Nicknames always seemed to have a friendlier feel to them and she loved that her colleagues could call her by hers. It really made her feel that they were all good friends and she smiled widely at Archie as he used the shortened version of her name. She nodded happily as he seemed to agree that once in a while a random selection was a fun idea for a lesson, then she tilted her head, looking at him curiously as he sighed.
"Oh, gosh, yes, I know," she nodded enthusiastically, agreeing with his concern. "I find it helpful to make a list of the most important, basic things that kids should know, then once they are taught that, the rest is a bonus!" Wasn't that a fun way to look at things? She thought so. "Oh, of course!" She laughed right along with him and clapped her hands with excitement. "Having fun is the best part!" Did he know how she taught her lessons? Maybe he'd like to come sometime, she loved having guests. "Oh, pish posh.." She waved away his silly thoughts with her hand. "You'll be bringing your own unique personality to the class, the kids will love it!"
Mhm, she was certain he couldn't wait to start class, she could feel the excitement in the air, and she nodded along happily. Whaaat? Disappoint her? Nessa quickly shook her head. "Oh, I'm sure that's not possible. She knows you're the best person for the job, she knows what's right for Herbology." The brunette nodded confidently. "Did you know Annie was my Herbology professor back in the day??" She couldn't help but to add a little laugh. She still found that to be such a hoot that her former teacher was now her boss and colleague and she could call her by her first name!

The advice that Nessa was giving was pretty good actually. Archie truly appreciated it. He needs all the help he can get!
Though he was a bit taken back with her sudden laughing and clapping. His eyes blinked repeatedly at her just to take it in, before opening his mouth again. "Well... yes..." He tried laughing along with her, but instead all he could feel was his mouth drying up. Probably being too sociable for comfort. "That's certainly the plan." ANYWAY... "What subject do you teach..." He scratched his stubbly chin and squinted both eyes. "...by the way? I can't remember from when we met..." Archie wasn't sure he knew in the first place, actually.
Say what?!
"Really?" His eyes widened, suddenly much more interested in the conversation. "Anastasia," He was too used to using her full name as opposed to Annie. "...used to teach Herbology...?!" Archie paused, still tapping his chin. "Maybe I should stop by her office for advice then? Do you..." Hmmm... "... do you think she would mind?" Of course she wouldn't mind.

Not really noticing the reaction Archie was having to her over-exuberance, Nessa was having a great time chatting with her coworker. He was so nice! She really should have made more of an effort to get to know him, but better late than never, she supposed. Good, yes, he realized the importance of having fun and engaging lessons. She was certain that he would have a great term!
Oh.. hmm? He didn't know what subject she taught? He must have really kept to himself in that hut last term.. shame. But they were having a spectacular conversation now and the smile never left her face. "Why, History of Magic, of course!" she exclaimed proudly. She truly loved her class. "I can't wait for lessons to start." She had a few things in mind that she thought was pretty fun and hoped the kids thought so too.
Nessa nodded very enthusiastically as she seemed to have caught Archie's interest about their boss's old job. "She sure did! She was super at it!" Of course, Herbology was never one of her favorite subjects as she just didn't get plants, but she could appreciate an expert in one's own field. "Oh of course she wouldn't mind," she added with a dismissive wave of her hand. "I'm sure she'd be thrilled to talk all things plant with you." Beam. Sort of like if someone wanted to talk dance or theater with her. She could talk for days on end.

This was yet another attempt to study for OWLs and Adi decided that today's subject would be Ancient Runes...again. The reason for his choice was that it was one of his weaker subjects. Armed with just his textbook and a bottle of water, he made his way to the Corner Room. Too bad food was prohibited. Some chocolate Frogs would have been awesome to bring along.
The fifth year made himself comfortable on one of the sofa. "Gosh, I hope I don't doze off,'' he thought as he opened his book. The sofa was THAT comfy. Pushing all thoughts out of his mind, Adi set about reading.

Noel Wallace rarely used the library for studying purposes. He usually preferred studying on his dorm bed or with Hayley beside him. His cousin was a like a library so whenever he got stuck he just referred to her instead of going into the library. So why was he here? It was simple. He liked to write when no one was watching.
He had a free period and he wanted to utilize it by writing. Noticing a certain house prefect sitting ALL by himself, Noel made his way to him. Settling down on the very comfy sofa beside him, Noel groaned: "How can they expect us to study when they have beds disguised as sofas here!?" he stated, pulling out his notebook and what not.

No, no. Adi couldn't do this. The sofa he was sitting on was so darn comfortable and he wasn't completely focused on his book so it was the perfect combination to want to take a nap. How about he close his eyes for a few minutes? That sounded like a rather inviting idea.
The Puffer had closed his bespectacled eyes for just half a minute when there was a voice complaining about the sofas. "I agree with you, dude. It's a trap set by Mr Kitridge.''LOL. Adi opened his eyes to find Noel, a fellow Hufflepuff, seated beside him. "Hey. How's it going?'' Noel wasn't one of the Badgers he was very familiar with but it looked like that could be changed. Unless Noel was more looking to be focused on studying.
Cutty had found his way to the corner room in order to study for owls. He expected nothing less than quiet non-distracting when in his readjusting he heard a soft, tired "Meow."
"Professor Quigley?", He asked outloud. But no answer came. Snapping his book shut and peering in the direction of the sound. A hidden ledge behind the window seats revealed a small cat body in the process of stretching out. The guilty party looked up with it's large eyes and repeated itself. "Meow.". It then curled itself up in a little donut.
Cutty began to reach for the donut cat but stopped before he laid a finger upon it's fur. He realized at that moment that the cat was trying to tell him something. Quickly turning to his Divination book, he saw the following:
Quote:
Curled in a ball If a cat is curled in a ball everything is still and calm for the moment, but one should keep alert for something coming in the future.
Something was coming in the future. It was very vague, but via his arrogance, Cutty was able to reason that it would only be amazing. "Pack." He used his wand to gather his things then hoisted the sleepy kitty beneath his arm and headed out of the library.

Noel snorted at Adi's response. "Preach!" he replied, opening his book and scribbling down the date on the top of the page. Yes, he didn't like people watching when he wrote but Adi would hardly be interested in his notebook. Dudes just didn't do that.
"It's going fine. Free period. Bored beyond reason," he replied to his house prefect's question. "What about you?"

Seemed like Noel agreed with him. Adi's eyed briefly returned to his book and he stared at the first paragraph of the page on his right. But he didn't feel like studying at that moment. He had plenty of time. OWLs were months away.
He was aware of his fellow Puffer scribbling away beside him but Adi figured he might be making notes about one of his classes. "Understandable. Same here but the only difference is that I'm supposed to be studying for OWLs.''
And nope, he wasn't trying to scare Noel about the hard work when it came to the exams. "So, you having a good year so far? Staying afloat still with all the lessons and homework?'' Because Adi was here to help anyone he can, especially his awesome badgers.

It had been a traumatic couple of days, to say the very least.
Gabriel had seen something that couldn't be unseen...and it just reaffirmed that these journals were a good idea. If Zander would've had something like this on him, he could have alerted another Prefect with the news and a Professor might've gotten there in time. Sure, Professor Quigley had eventually showed up...but maybe things could've been different.
With all eight journals laid out in front of him, the ones he'd purchased at Scrivenshaft's, Gabe began tapping and prodding at them. See, he and Jeremiah had spent some time with them first...So, this was just mild testing.

So.... Zahra was in the library.
Stranger things had probably happened. Probably. Lots of people around the castle were all worked up over recent events, so she was laying kind of low and avoiding the drama queens. In fact, she was taking advantage of the weird times at Hogwarts to study.
Not school curriculum, but studying all the same.
That's how she found herself sitting beside Gabe. "Hey, Nerd."

Gabe might've JUMPED, dropped his wand, and squealed like a girl, just a little....because he'd been in the zone and hadn't heard Zahra approaching. Readjusting his glasses, he squinted at the Gryffindor person. He was more and more wary of this lot...Jeremiah was the only smart one, apparently.
....and he ignored the 'nerd' barb. "What are you doing in a library? Weren't you the least bit afraid it'd blow upon entering?" Snark for snark, then. He was tired and it probably seemed more mean than he'd intended it.
He refocused on the journals.

"Not even the least bit," Zahra proudly affirmed. Gryffindors, as it were, didn't get afraid. Obvz.
Anywhoooooooooooo. Zahra flipped her own book open, but precisely 15 seconds later was already distracted. His acidic tone with her wasn't atypical, so Zahra didn't think too much of it. She leaned his way to try and look at what HE was doing. "Is that a diary?"

Bending down to retrieve his wand...because he'd forgotten it'd been dropped in the moment, Gabe sighed. AUDIBLE sighing, too.
Zahra gave him a massive headache.
"They are journals. NOT diaries." There may have been some sass included in that response. Might've been...as Gabe rooted around in his bag for his Charms notebook. He'd written that incantation down somewhere....

He'd missed her moving closer...and that was probably best. Gabriel remained suspicious of this particular Gryffindor...Even if he was looking past the fact that she was...Well, a she. They'd snogged. It was hard to be weird after that Potions' lesson. Shared trauma made it so.

And he didn't have to write about it...Not to say that it wasn't remarkable and worthy of being written about...
He fumbled his glasses.

Was Zahra serious right now?
"No, I have NOT...and it's a journal. JOURNAL." Gabe added some flailing action to emphasize his point. Why was she picking today to do this? Yet, he was choosing to be somewhat patient. Ruby would've expected it...? He didn't want to fight with her about Zahra, essentially.
"These are unused."
..........and her SNOGGING comments were being ignored. Gabriel surmised Zahra was intentionally trying to make him uncomfortable. So, he was NOT giving her the satisfaction. Gryffindors. Geez.
........Aha!

Admittedly, it was disappointing that they weren't REALLY snog diaries. The fact that they were legitimately boring spell journals or whatever was more Gabe for sure. Too bad he never deterred far from his norm. Z had SEEN that he could be fun, and wild, and have a good time...
She sighed and flopped back in her chair, giving her own book another go.
~15 seconds later~
"You wanna tell me what it says? Anything interesting?" beeeecaaause she couldn't focus on her own book at ALL.

That seemed to appease her curiosity and Gabriel went back to his work; doing his check on the eight individual leather books. They were ready. He and Jeremiah had done what they could....Mokeskin would've been more efficient, of course...but there wasn't time and the expense made zero sense to him.
Glancing back at his notes, he began mumbling the spell, trying to get a feel for it....but unfortunately, Zahra hadn't been able to keep quiet. He was mildly ashamed to be so startled a second time.
"The journals are blank." STARE. "They don't say anything....."

....Zahra STARED right back.
"So.......................................," the staring continued, ".......you're reading....... blank diaries."
She leaned way over to feel his forehead. Did he have a fever?

Gabriel didn't bother swatting her hand away at first...but he DID give her a LOOK. One that said he wasn't in the mood to be trolled, if that's what she was doing. Of course, he DID eventually bat the hand away.
No touching, thank you very much.
"I'm not reading them, though, am I?" Were they opened in front of him? No, they were laid out, side by side...and he was TRYING to charm them. Zahra couldn't be this dense. She could, at least, SEE what he was attempting to do, right?
"I'm doing something to them."
