| | Stained Glass Windows It's a known fact that fire and paper isn’t a good combination. The library has therefore always featured a sparse number of torches on the walls to minimize the danger to the books. On test this year the torches have been replaced by enchanted firefly lamps. A good number of stained glass windows grace the walls at regular intervals where the room is connected to the outside wall of the castle to ensure that adequate light comes in. Stretching from floor to ceiling these windows depict famous witches and wizards from history, important historical events and beautifully detailed magical creatures or at least that is what you should see.
Come sit down and relax in one the cushioned window seats. Read a book under the warm gaze of a healer or the roaring growl of a dragon. According to legend work gets completed faster if you sit in Rowena Ravenclaw’s window so why not try if there is any truth to it? The glass in the windows can’t be broken by spells or physical force but please be mindful and respectful of the beautiful artwork. Remember to keep your voice down since many people come to the library to study or get a moment or two of quiet. |

There he goes with that smile and Beverly had to force herself to keep her lips from twitching. Dang you, Aditya Rehman. Of course not really. "I've been..." she trailed off as the Librarian began the meeting and pointed out a few windows. "Okay." With another nudge (she's grown to like nudging people) Beverly set out to sketch the dragon window.
. . . .
Sketching was happening. Lots of it. Dragon-sketching was a normal routine in her daily life so this was easy peasy. Raising her gaze when the bald man arrived, Beverly tilted her head slightly. He's joining them. This was bound to get interesting, wasn't it? Especially now that they were heading to the Restricted Section.
Pocketing the color pencil, the Prefect threw out her wand and followed. The last time she visited the Restricted Section she'd been serenaded by a rug and harassed by chocolate frogs.

Eden had a friend!date with Clara..and what better place than the LIBRARY to have it, huh? The best friends were both Ravenclaws and ADORED this place. She picked to sit at the stained glass windows because they were really pretty..and Eden thought it would be nice to have her back against their cool touch.
She had brought BOOKS...about Vikings, yes. Iwin had sent them. And she was interested becaaaause Damien mentioned wanting a VIKING funeral if he ever died and Eden SO wanted to be prepared. The kid was a Gryffindor, after all, so the chances of a freak accident were high. Maybe not as high as a Hufflepuff's but...
You know. Had to to be VIGILANT and whatnot.
She tucked one foot under her thigh and let the other hang down, swinging it gently back and back as she stuffed a peppermint into her mouth. Were peppermints the best candy ever? *SNORT* NO! But they were what she wanted right now.

But they were what she wanted right now. Considering she'd spent most of her Hogwarts life - especially this year - in the library, it was hardly surprising that that was where Clara and Eden had chosen to have their 'friend!date', as Eden liked to call them. When she wasn't in classes or in the dorm, this was the place she could usually be found. That, or the lake. Anywhere she could get some peace and quiet.
While Eden had brought books with her, Clara had come unprepared and without any. Usually, she'd have her book of poems in Latin with her, or another poem book in another language. If it wasn't obvious ... Clara loved languages ..... but this time, she come to browse and spend some down time with her best friend. Something that she hadn't been doing enough recently. "What's that you've got there?" She asked, glancing down at Eden. Clara was still stood up, ready to browse, but whatever Eden was eating had caught her attention. Recently, food had been on her mind a lot more. Odd.
