Interesting questions, he was full of them. Yep.

He nodded though, as he considered Abby's response. If it worked for her, he supposed it might work for him. Unless it was a Ravenclaw thing, in which case it really wouldn't work for him at all. Boo. BUT, he was here, and he would try.

Procrastinating was what he was REALLY good at though, so he didn't hesitate in asking another question. "Whatcha reading?"

Abby looked at her book and said "Just a book about Arithmancy, trying to get my head around the subject it is one of my poorer subjects"

Having a good deal of studying to do Hady made her way to one of her newer places. As she approached the stained glass windows though she saw others were already there. Letting out a small huff she didn't let it get to her and gave them a tiny wave of her hand before taking a seat a few feet away. She wasn't about to impose of disrupt them if they were studying.

Placing her bag at her side she pulled out some parchment, a notebook to lean on and a green inked quill. Neatly she began to write another letter, one of the many she'd sent this month alone. As she wrote her free hand fiddled with her locket the item soon making its way to her mouth were she chewed on the chain in frustration and nervousness. Her letter already getting to her and she'd barely written two sentences.

Yeah she'd come here to study but well this could come first. She studied more then enough and she was tired and annoyed with it all honestly.

Hera 02-03-2015 08:08 AM

ARITHMANCY!..... "Awesome, I thought I'd hate Arithmancy... cause math was my worst subject in muggle school," well, aside from French, but he wasn't about to mention that. "So far though, I've been doing well, maybe even acing it." Ever since Domingo left he'd LOVED the subject, it was kinda weird.

Zeke looked down at his own text book, "Astronomy," he confessed, "is what I'm falling behind in." At least, he FELT behind. The geocide stuff from last year was EASY compared to all of this.

Seeing something move in his peripheral, Zeke turned his head to see who was approaching, catching Hady's wave before she sat down. Smiling, he waved back before turning his attention back to Abby.

Spotting Zeke waving back at her from over the top of her parchment she was able to catch his smile as well. That instantly made her feel better making everything bad seem not so horrible anymore. Lifting her head up a little more she gave him a small sweet smile in return.

Not wanting to disturb her friends studying time she switched her own attention back to the task at hand...writing this letter.

Cartographer's meeting ^_^

A tour of the Hospital Wing would have been awesome. Not one to get sick easily, Adi didn't spend much time there. The most memorable time he spent there was back in his first year when he, Ariel and Tobias had gone there because they had all gotten beards due to Professor French and his Arithmancy lesson.

Anywaaaaay. Here he was now with Mr Kitridge's group at the Stained Glass windows. His four eyes were on the look out for those wombat droppings. Yep. Now, what were the instructions? Just spread out and start mapping? Adi waited never the less for the Librarian to speak.

Holmesian Feline 03-01-2015 09:19 PM

Benny had kept his notebook out as they started to move to their first location. The Gryffindor marking a brief path from the front desk to the one outer wall of the library where Mr. Kitridge was guiding them. He was a step or two behind his best friend as they walked towards the stained glass windows, careful of wombat surprises and waiting to see who from the group would follow and who was off with the charms professor.

Pausing in front of the window with Adi, he looked over at the multi-colored glass. His gaze falling over it as he got a closer look, finally deciding he should try to sketch it for the map. Or at least a representation of it for reference. The boy bringing his pen down upon the paper pages once more to start with an outline.

thee meeting :3

Beverly had just barely made it to the meeting. She couldn't find a boot and there was no way she'd go on exploring without her trusty boots. At the end, they had appeared under one of her dorm-mate's bed, Chomper comfortably nuzzled inside it. One of these days she was going to end up hexing one of her housemates all due to her pet's actions.

Making it just as they were splitting into groups, Beverly followed the one after the Librarian. He had a chill personality it seemed, and that was sort of what she wanted to surround herself with at the moment. And Aditya was there, which was even better.

Bumping shoulders with him, she grinned just a tiiiiny bit, barely visible, but it was there, and that was only because she wasn't being herself. Not after recent personal events.

"Hey." A nod was also directed at his friend (Benny).

cartographer's meeting

The library was one of Penelope's favorite places in the school, so of course she had chosen to stay with Mr. Kitridge in the library. Beware of wombat droppings. What was that supposed to mean? Did Mr. Kitridge have a wombat? If so, why hadn't she heard about it or seen it before? Or maybe she had but didn't remember. Why was a wombat even allowed to be in the library? Why did Mr. Kitridge have a wombat? There must have been a wombat. Unless someone else had left wombat droppings in the library. Maybe Mr. Kitridge had books on wombats. It would be interesting to learn about wombats.

WhittyBitty 03-02-2015 01:18 AM

The library was one of Lux's favourite places in the school so she was happy to explore it with the cartography club and Mr. Kitridge, who she had always liked.

Making her way over to the others, she stood by Adi and Benny. They seemed to be in the same groups for this club a lot and that pleased her since Adi was always awesome company and Benny seemed rather nice. "Hey, guys. How's it going?"

Looking around the rom, she wondered what the wombat droppings thing was about.

DuckyLinJi 03-02-2015 01:11 PM

carto club ^^

So choosing between going with Quigley or Kitridge had been sooooo difficult. One might think that it would be easy. Go with Kitridge because it would be easier since they were kind of on the same page. Or go with Quigley, mostly to annoy the man because he knew that if he went with his group, he would be certainly annoyed heh.

But lately, the Gryffindor wasn't feeling like bothering anyone, which was weird, so he had decided to go with the librarian to the stained glass windows. He followed the group from behind since he had been a bit late to the meeting and held his notebook and pen they had gotten at the first meeting in his hands.

He didn't greet anyone and just leaned against a bookcase, waiting for the Ravenclaw Head of House to start talking.

When he had put up a direction notice for late students Leo had taken his pen and note pad and lead the way over to the stained glass section. He had been in his own little bubble so it was a delightful surprise to see how many students who had decided to follow him when he turned to face them all a big smile on his face with his back to the stained glass window depicting a dragon breathing fire. "Welcome to the Stained Glass Windows everyone. These windows have been around as long as the school has been. All stained windows depict different images from fantastic creatures, famous witches and wizards and notable events from our history." Taking up his notepad and pencil Leo continued with a gesture. "Let's spread out and get started on drawing some nice pictures with inspiration from the stained windows of course that can be included in the map."

Remembering his earlier remark about wombats Leo said "I don't own a wombat or allow wild ones to take up living quarters in the library but for some reason they are drawn to the library and this section in particular so watch your shoes."It wouldn’t be nice to walk in animal poo plus it was possible that it smelled.

Moving over to stand in front of a window depicting a unicorn Leo started to draw.

griffin 03-03-2015 07:33 AM

So Mr. Kitridge didn't have a wombat. He didn't allow wild wombats to live in the library. That still didn't explain the wombat droppings. "Wombat droppings are cube shaped." Just a random fact about wombats. If anyone doubted her, they might be able to find some of the cube shaped wombat droppings. Where were the wombats coming from anyway? There were not any wild wombats in Scotland, as far as she knew. How did they get in the castle? Were there wombats hiding in the castle somewhere? Was there a book in the restricted section that produced live wombats? After the fairy tale book last year, a wombat book did not seem unlikely. "Where to the wombats come from? How do they get in the library?" Wombats were native to Australia. Why would there be wombats here?

FearlessLeader19 03-03-2015 01:37 PM

What pretty colourful windows they were. Admittedly, it had been a while since Adi really paid attention to them but right now he couldn’t help but enjoy looking at them. He side eyed his bestie who was already drawing stuff in his book. Benny didn’t waste time.

Feeling the shoulder bump, the fifth year turned to look. Beverly! His face lit up with a smile instantly. “Hey, Bev.’’ And what was this? Was that a hint of a smile? Hmmm. “How’s everything with you?” It had been a while since they really had time to hang out.

Then there were Penelope, Lux and Kevin also there. “Hiya, Lux. Just keeping an eye out for those droppings.’’ Didn’t want to go stepping into a pile of those now, did he?

Speaking of wombat droppings... Penelope offered an interesting fun fact. "I didn't know that,'' Adi told her. Cube shaped? Weird! Anyway, moving on to drawing! He already knew what he wanted to draw. CREATURES! One creature in particular, actually. That creature can be of a whole lot inspiration. All of them can be. So he sought out the windows that were mostly depicting creatures.

"Going to work on the creatures mostly,'' the boy informed his bestie as he raised his pencil to begin drawing a basilisk. Mean looking thing. Heh.

Thorbert O. Kenting 03-03-2015 03:17 PM

Thorbert wasn't late, he hooooped? The announcement said "Library". Even though he might be a couple of minutes late, he was here! And ready! "Hello!" he greeted the group cheerfully and smiled at anyone who looked at him. "Mr. Kitridge." He bowed at the man, and brought out his grand notebook too. Time to skeeeetch this inpiring set of windows!

DuckyLinJi 03-03-2015 08:41 PM

Why was the Ravenclaw Head of House talking like he was giving a tour? This was their school, not an attraction zone or something and they had been here numerous times before. Well...others maybe. It was very difficult to find Kevin in a library unless he REALLY wanted to. He looked at the glass windows and had to admit that he didn't know about the history of it.

As the group split up, Kevin turned around to go to a corner to sketch the whole area when he accidentally bumped against the Cartographer. He dropped his notebook which had drawings of the dungeons and chamber of secrets and some random doodlings on it, on the ground and he narrowed his eyes at, how had Puck called him? Mr. crazy psychokillerman. "Watch it old man" he said as he stooped down to grab his notebook.

lazykitty 03-04-2015 01:59 AM

Wombats. She'd always thought those were more of an Australian thing? And they were in Scotland. So.......where were the wombats coming from? And why was she worrying about this when she had windows to sketch?

The info about the windows was interesting enough. but what was even more interesting was that the windows didn't seem to be moving......? Maybe charming them to move would be dangerous to the glass. Or that was the theory she was going with anyway.

Oh look, Hirase was being himself again. Sigh.

Turning to Penelope he said patiently but not unkindly. "I'm not sure how wombats get into the library, but honestly it doesn't matter in this precise moment. Right now we are supposed to draw pictures." Gesturing to the stained glass windows nearby depicting a unicorn Leo suggested. "Can’t you try drawing the unicorn? It' make for a lovely drawing for the map."

Leo turned around as they were joined by the expert cartographer which the students had referred to as 'the bald man.' Smiling invitingly he said "Welcome Mr Kenting. We're so glad you could join us. Did you go Hogwarts in your school days?" If he did, maybe he knew if Hogwarts had been mapped properly before or if this was a first.

He worked silently on his own dragon drawing for a few minutes before he looked up to address his group of students and Mr Kenting. "You have 5 more minutes to finish your drawings everyone before we move on to another part of the library." It was good that Mr Kenting was there. It would be good to be two adults for the section they were visiting next.

Holmesian Feline 03-05-2015 08:04 PM

Benny offered a polite nod to Lux and Adi's fellow prefect Beverley when they greeted him upon their arrival though his attention was more on his sketch. It was only when Mr. Kitridge spoke up, officially welcoming them all to the section and explaining the windows, that he fully looked up at the man. He had been here before so he was somewhat familiar with them. Other than the habitual presence of wombat dropping that was. The fifth year would continue to be watchful of it.

And look...the man wanted them to do what he had already been doing.

For once he was ahead of the game.

So he was going to go back to finishing what he had been working on...maybe another afterwards. Benny nearly snorted as Adi spoke up beside him with his own plans. "Of course..." he said, having thought his bestie would do nothing less. It was the creatures that interested them both.

Oh look...the cartographer joined them again.

Mr. Kitridge didn't know how the wombats got into the library. They would have to look into that later. She needed to draw a picture of the windows right now. "But how do the wombats-? I can draw the unicorn." Penelope pulled out her sketchbook and colored pencils and began to draw the unicorn. They didn't have much time left, so she would have to work quickly. If she didn't have time to draw a good picture she could always come back later. She was planning to come back to the library anyway. Penelope liked the library. Not only were there books, but apparently there were wombats. That sounded like it would be interesting to investigate. Wombats were not usually found in the library. She just had to find out where the wombats were coming from and why they were in the library.

WhittyBitty 03-06-2015 09:37 PM

Smiling at Adi, Lux was happy to see that her fellow Puff was as happy as ever. So the wombats liked this area of the library. That was rather odd and she couldn't remember ever seeing them, but no matter. So long as she didn't step on any dropping things would go amazingly.

Watching her step so as to not dirty her shoes, the redhead made her way over to one of the pretty stained glass windows so that she could sketch the mermaid that it contained - as if she would choose to draw anything else. Yep, staying in the library had definitely been the right choice because it meant that she could draw pretty pictures even though she wasn't nearly as good an artist as Cinna.

Engrossed in her work, she still heard the arrival of the Cartographer. "Hello, sir!" she said cheerfully in reply to his friendly greeting.

Nordic Witch 03-07-2015 04:58 PM

Everyone.... we go to the res section next.

Leo focused on finishing his drawing of the dragon in silence. He heard the student's get to work too around him even Penelope even if her mind was still on wombats. He shouldn't have mentioned them. Leo added the last pen line to the drawing before he finished it with a douse of colour to the drawing with the use of his wand.

Satisfied he rolled up the drawing and pushed it down into a robe pocket as he looked around at his little cartographer group. "Come on everyone. Let's move on to the restriced section now. You can finish your drawing's later."

With that Leo turned and started to lead the way towards the most guarded section in the library. Hopefully no books decided to act up.

Holmesian Feline 03-07-2015 09:24 PM

Benny had just finished his second drawing when the librarian spoke up again, this time ready to move them on to another location within the librarian. Seemed he just about had perfect timing in the activity he supposed. And they had been there for a decent amount of time already so he was ready. He couldn't help but perk up however as Mr. Kitridge mentioned just where they were headed.

The restricted section?

Were they actually going to be allowed inside this section that one needed permission to go in? The place they had only been in briefly during the whole fairy tale book debacle. That thought caused him to frown briefly. But it had been fixed and taken care of so it was back to just being a curious location with overly interesting tomes...right?

One way to find out.

WhittyBitty 03-08-2015 05:20 AM

Lux had just finished her drawing when Mr. Kitridge spoke up again and informed everyone that their next location would be the restricted section. After the whole fairy tale book ordeal last term, she wasn't sure if she wanted to go back there. Besides, weren't they supposed to have permission to enter anyway...but then he was the LIBRARIAN so this was his domain.

Maybe she could go along and make sure not to touch any of the books. They kind of creeped her out, and Lux definitely understood why they were restricted. Unlike poor Gregoire, she would stick to being cautious.
