The Eagles sit under a beautiful navy and bronze banner representing their house. Their solid, shiny wooden table is nicely polished with all the place settings perfectly set. The food will arrive after the Headmistress' traditional feast speech. To all Ravenclaws, both new and old: enjoy the feast!
So.... The chaos seemed to have diminished... Which made this prefect feel a whole lot calmer. Especially with the professors hanging around now... Everything seemed... Handled.
She shot an unintentional helpless look at Soph, momentarily letting all of her thoughts consume her.... The ones that really made her wonder if she had actually been the right choice for the job.... Which had been pretty much the entirety of her thoughts lately.... Especially now when everyone else seemed to be quicker to the snap than herself.
Why were the other prefects being called to professor Turner's office but not herself? Had she done something wrong? Coral's arms went around herself, squeezing tightly.
A quiet little sigh escaped her lips only moments before Gabe had reached out for her and she quickly grabbed his hand as it was offered, giving him a slightly helpless look as well. A frown found it's way to her lips and she moved closer to him, whispering, "Let's check on the little ones first? I'd feel better knowing they were alright...."
They.... Well a few... Had looked kind of... distraught and she had made note of that in the chaos.

Headmistress' office?........Why? Were they that much in trouble? The first time she acts nobly and sacrifices her entertainment, she's sent to the Headmistress office. Well. This was certainly teaching her a lesson. Oh, wait! But Healer Murdoch was here and she wasn't interfering. Had to be a positive sign, no? Either way, she wasn't going to count her Ashwinder eggs before they hatched.
Nodding once more she, she ducked her head in respect and turned to her table but not before picking something off the ground with with the aid of a napkin, and stuffed into her pocket. On her way, she nodded respectfully at Head of House. Did she know there were crazy Slytherins? That the water might have been tampered with? Most were acting like Gryffindors -- the stupid ones -- and it had to stop.

To be completely honest, no...Gabriel did not want to check on anyone. What he really wanted to do was retreat to Ravenclaw Tower and sleep off this dizziness and twisted stomach........before preparing for lessons tomorrow. Maybe even take some dreamless sleep potion because it felt like it'd be one of those nights. Everything else that could go wrong, was...So, why NOT that, as well.
...but if that's what Coral Bay wanted to do...Well, he couldn't say/think it enough. She was better at this than he was...and he was glad it wasn't anyone else. No matter who else could've been qualified.
"Can we be quick?".....and who needed them? since Gabriel had been too busy almost being assaulted to take note.

Comments like that could be perceived as rude. She decided to no say more to Professor Tanner. Healer Murdoch would be able to handle the situation and see to it that the injured students got the necessary medical attention.
Penelope looked at Gabe, who was not looking much better than some of the students who had been injured. Her eyes settled on his hands and the wands that he was holding. One of those wands looked a lot like her wand... Wait, where was her wand? She hadn't seen it since she had immobilized Austin and the Slytherin boy. It wasn't in her wand holster. That could only mean one thing. The wand in Gabe's hand that looked like her wand was her wand. "Gabe, is that my wand?" Why did Gabe have her wand? Did Gabe know how dangerous it was to touch her wand? "You really shouldn't be touching my wand, Gabe. It's not good for you to be touching my wand." Healer Murdoch already had enough injured students to deal with, and she certainly wouldn't be happy if Gabe got his fingers burned or turned into sausages.
.
.
As for Penelope, he'd almost missed her speaking to him...but yes. He was holding her wand....and he had a right mind to hand it over to their Head of House before she got it back.
...There was stuff he wanted to say...like how she didn't need to repeat that performance...and how she needed to let the Prefects handle the situation...because she and Clara casting had only added to the confusion. Gabriel was spent, however. He'd make a note of it to Mr. Kitridge...because he couldn't personally handle any additional confrontation tonight, thank YOU very much.
After handing the wand over, but keeping Clara's for now, he joined CB. This Prefect had nothing further to say.

Holding rather tightly to his hand, CB reached across herself with the other to pat his arm in an attempt to be comforting without being too comforting because of the watchful eyes. She quietly tugged him toward a little gathering of first years, "we'll be very quick, okay? Quick and thorough... and then we'll sit." Easy enough. They could do this quickly.... She patted his arm a few more times.
She was worried about him. That had sort of... been a lot. And he'd been so quick about it all, quicker than her, acting how he saw fit. She knew him and she couldn't do exactly what she wanted to make sure he was okay... not right now, anyway. She gave him a few searching looks, and a hand squeeze to remind him she was here for him but they'd have to have a proper talk about it later, she decided.
Now that the food was out, they were nearly home free. Soon enough, they'd be in the common room which would practically be drama free? Without a slytherin boy to bully the younger ones, she imagined the rest of the night would go fairly smoothly.... Rather, she hoped.
Was it too much to ask?
Approaching the gaggle of first years, Coral-Bay gave them a sweet reassuring smile. "Are you all alright? No one's injured are they?" Emotionally scarred? Afraid of Hogwarts? Hmm? No? Yes? "In need of a hug, maybe?"

With his wand in hand Leo walked into the chaos with students milling around, Cece kneeling over a girl passed out on the floor and Tiara giving orders left and right and his younger eagles being pretty much over the place in fright.
Taking in the scene before him, his eyes landed on his newly appointed prefect duo as he stuck his wand back into its holster. "Mr Banner and Miss Aldrich would you be so kind as to inform me what exactly has transpired here tonight?" Gesturing to the wands Gabriel was holding in a tight grip he asked "Who's wands are you holding there Mr Banner?" And was there a reason for that?
Turning to his house assistant Leo said "Thank you, for acting so swiftly in my stead Professor Tanner, when I was briefly held up on the dais. I assume you've taken the necessary actions?" As in separating trouble makers and restoring order.
Eyes flickering over to Cece and the unconscious student he asked worriedly. "How is Miss Wilde doing? Does she need to be carried to the Hospital Wing for further medical ministrations?"
Turning his attention to the whole Ravenclaw table his eyes wandered to each student present at the table as he addressed them with warmth, reassurance and love in his tone. "Everything is going to be all right everyone! Clara is getting help from Healer Tillstorm and those who instigated the drama will be fairly punished after the feast."
"I'm sure all of you have questions, and might even be feeling a little scared right now and given the circumstance that is very understandable. We'll have a house meeting in the common room after the feast where I'll try to answer all your questions. But for now dears try and eat some food!" Leo finished off.
Could the Grey Lady and Sir Nicholas escort the student’s of other houses back to their respective tables?

Gabriel simply nodded, reassured that it wouldn't take too long or be that strenuous. They could simply...check on the smaller kids and then...maybe...eat. IF his stomach allowed it. Gabe still felt queasy and stressed after the almost fight. Almost for him. Actual fight for others. He was a sweaty, nervous mess.

...but then Gabe finally caught sight of their Head of House...and he figured he'd explain, while she could....keep doing what she was doing. Coral Bay had a better manner of dealing with them. Gabriel was just as nervous and terrified as they probably were. Who was he going to comfort?
Seriously.
"S-sir." Pausing, he took some deep breaths, really focusing on each word. A jumble of stuttering and mumbling wouldn't help anyone...Gabe just needed to get it out. Better to do so now...Even if it was something he'd have to repeat to the Headmistress in the morning..."There was some bullying from...from a Slytherin student to a few...Ravenclaws. I asked him to....uh, 'keep it down'...I believe...were my exact, um, words." His knees felt weak but he carried on, focusing on the man. After getting his refill, NO MORE missing his potion. He'd been doing so well this summer..."After mocking me...*flush* a bit, he...carried on with the...teasing. He made a girl...A Ravenclaw...girl, cry."...Gabe hadn't minded the teasing towards himself so much because he'd gotten teased and bullied a lot. It hardly even affected him, anymore...Banners. "I silenced him with magic. Silencio...and then he...tried to....to tackle me.....Another boy jumped in the way, though, and they started rolling around on the ground. Penelope and Clara...started performing Immobulus spells. I had to....I mean..." He gestured to the wand he still held, finally loosening his grip on it...and handing it over to his Head of House. "I disarmed them and then Professor T-t-tanner showed up...."
There hadn't been time to get anyone...
Finally slumping into a seat, Gabe put his face in his hands. He felt like he was going to be physically sick...

She then uncorked it and ran it under the girls nose. The smell was so strong it could probably wake up the dead. "She should be coming round any second now." She then looked around to see if anyone else needed her attention at the moment.

For a while, Clara felt as if she was floating ... she wasn't dreaming, as such, but she felt light and free. Passing out had allowed her to escape the commotion and to finally feel some peace. However, that was unfortunately short-lived.
Something broke through to her ..... not a sound or an image, but a smell.
A repulsive and STRONG smell.
It didn't take long for Clara to come around and shoot up to a sitting position. She blinked, looking around her, noting the fact she was on the floor and there were many people around her. Alright, she though, I passed out. Fun. The sixth year's vision cleared even further and she was able to pick out face. The Healer, of course, was closest to her. Eden was standing close, looking frantic - gosh, she must have given that girl a fright. Marigold was also nearby, along with a handful of other students. It wasn't too many, but it was enough to make her feely a like panicky again.
"Wh-What happened?" She mumbled, looking from person to person. Then she noticed him with their Head of House and instantly became more alert. When saying alert ... that meant drowsy - it felt like a massive force was pressing against her skull, but still she spoke. "I need ... May I go and speak to, uhhh, Prefect Banner and Professor Kitridge? Please."

Penelope took her wand back from Gabe. It didn't look like the wand had hurt Gabe or turned his fingers into sausages, so that was good, but he still shouldn't have been touching her wand. Other people should not be touching her wand. The wand maker at Ollivanders had told her that she shouldn't let others touch her wand, but so far she was failing at that. Why did everyone have to be so stupid and go around touching wands that didn't belong to them, especially wands that had the potential to shock or burn people's fingers? "The wand maker at Ollivanders said that I shouldn't let others touch my wand. It might shock or burn your fingers." Could everyone just stop touching her wand? Everyone's fingers would be much safer if they didn't touch her wand. She didn't care too much that Gabe had taken her wand, she was just concerned about what might happen to his fingers when he touched it.
Mr. Kitridge was here. Gave was telling him about everything that had happened. They were going to have a house meeting after the feast. People would be punished. It was too much for Penelope. She just wanted to hide in her dorm after all this. Could they wait until tomorrow to have a house meeting and for people to be punished? All she felt like doing now was going to bed after eating something. Right now she needed to try to eat some food.
Then Janelle's very first friend appeared. "Margo hi", she said while tearing her eyes away from the ruckus. "How are you doing? Are you OK? Looks like you came just in time to see the show.". And what a show it was. Fists, blood, fainting........this had been quite a first day of school.
"Margo, we definitely have to get together after we get settled in. Maybe we can hang out and explore the castle and the grounds." Hopefully things would calm down and Day 1 was not a sign of things to come.
Margo smiled the second she saw Janelle, the fighting seemed to have stopped, at least the teachers had a arrived. Margo wondered what it was about in the first place. Maybe a delious love triangle? Did those actually happen in real life or just in the movies?"Hey Janelle!! You look good in Eagle Blue" Margo said pointed to the bird of prey on her robes. "All though I wish we were in the same house, it would be nice to know another first year a least."
Margo took a seat next to Janelle at the table, hoping she wasn't taking anyone seat. "What the heck was all that about?" Margo asked pointing toward the commotion. "Muggle dueling, not the way I would have gone." Margo smiled teasing....actualy she was all talk, she would be less than useless in a real fight.
Dude? Appalled Helena floated closer to eye the boy up and down with a disproving wrinkle to her nose and tone of voice. “Young man, I really hope you have better manners than that. At this table we address people by their first names, not by dude." If he insisted to call her dude too then she'd seek out the Friar and complain very strongly. She was a very elegant lady.[/color]
Uuuuuh.
Noel made a face. "But maam' - 'dude' isn't a bad word. It's more of a friendly term" he tried explaining. Because he did have manners and the grey lady should know.

Upside down Noel.
He hadn't had that many conversations with him......okay maybe two. Two conversations.
But the older boy WAS snogging his best friend.
"No....? Maybe she got tired of waiting for food and her whole stomach just gobbled her up?" Seemed probable. He grinned at the boy.

And that was where Hayley found Noel towering over Kyroh from behind. Approach with caution..? "Whose stomach gobbled them up?" The fourteen-year-old asked, screwing up her face in confusion. Plopping down by Kyroh, the Diggory girl patted the seat between them. Come sit, cousin?
The ravenclaw might actually be right. Because honestly - WHERE WAS THE FOOD, HEADMISTRESS????
Before he could discuss Kyroh's theory any further the SPEECH started and Hayley appeared too. Well then. It was like Hayley was honestly waiting for food to appear to make an entrance. When the speech ended and all the magical food appeared, Noel took no time to squeeze between the two ravenclaws. He was not wasting time and going back to the Huffie table. He wanted food. LIKE NOW.
"Oh, Kyroh was just telling me - how you may have been eaten by your stomach - " he mentioned, before filling a cup with pumkin juice and grabbing himself some fried chicken leg. " - because WHERE have you been, woman?"

Tiara was appreciative when Leobald arrived on the scene. Though the Slytherin Head was present, she was preoccupied with Clara, so it was good to have another Head arrive. "I have sent two Ravenclaws and one Slytherin to their respective common rooms with sandwiches and orders to not detour. We will be meeting in my office together, and you, Cecelia, and Anastasia are invited. As for Prefects Banner and Wayne, they will be meeting us in Anastasia's office tomorrow morning." Prefect Aldrich had not been involved at the moment Tiara had arrived.

Penelope looked ready to argue again. It was clear that she did not think much of Tiara's decisions. "Trust me dear, Healer Murdoch is capable of tending to the students even after they've left this room." At least the girl wasn't back-sassing.

The smile was a fail, of course...as it appeared more like a grimace. He didn't like this...dealing with other people's problems...business...but at least people had wanted to defend him? Is that what they'd been meaning to do?
He flushed.
.....and he flushed even harder at that.
"Yes, ma'am." His voice was weak, clearly affected by the lightheadedness...and he'd reached out for Coral Bay, hoping she'd sit with him; the two wands that didn't belong to him still gripped tightly in his hands.
"Sit with me?" Gabe mumbled at her.
.
.
...and he'd seen Clara faint...but the Healer was tending to her now. Gabe would need to speak to her later...about her trying to help.
Another nod from the second prefect. Good, both of them were clear on the meeting. "Thank you, Mister Banner. Now, I'd suggest you take a seat and get some food in your stomach. You look pale."

Please."
Tiara turned to check on their fainting student, whom she was concerned for. Oh good, she was awake again. Thank goodness for Murdoch. Tiara knelt down to the girl's level. "You shouldn't be moving and talking much until the Healer here has approved it. Unless it's an emergency, I'd suggest waiting."

Janelle was really glad to see Margo. She was especially glad that she seemed to have recovered from her earlier trauma. "I was thinking the same thing. I wish we could have been housemates too. I haven't really met any of the first years in my house yet." It was OK though because they would still be friends.
Janelle scooted over to make room for Margo as she sat down. When she asked about the fight, Janelle shrugged. "I have no idea. One minute everything was calm and the next minute people started going crazy. What could have been that serious? School just started. I can't believe that anyone could be looking for trouble already." Janelle was really going to have a lot to include in her owl to Jasmine.
So how are you enjoying Hufflepuff so far? Looks like you have one of the drama free tables." Now Janelle was not opposed to excitement.....far from it, but she had had her quota of excitement for one day.

"I know I haven't met any first years yet either, lots of older students though!" Margo told her first real friend here at Hogwarts. Margo was looking around the Ravenclaw table soaking everything in. It was going to be so much fun getting to know all these students as well. "I'm loving Hufflepuff, all though we don't have much excitement going on over there!" Margo teased pointing to her table.
"Probably a silly boy!" Margo said in response to what they were fighting about. "Aren't boys always the trouble!" Margo giggling, she didn't have too much interest in boys yet, but who knew when that would happen.
Merlin, what was with all of the commotion? Since when were Ravenclaws so loud? Hayley's attention turned briefly to the.. mess, a little ways down the table. Fully aware that it had become physical, with Prefects involved, and that it wasn't simply a Ravenclaw thing because she had spotted a Slytherin or two judging by the robes, her blue-grey eyes turned back toward her companions - though she was listening, more than prepared to move the three of them further down the table in the opposite direction if need be. Otherwise, she paid the chaos no mind.
"Huh.." Interesting theory there, little Ravenclaw buddy. Hayley smiled slightly, "Nope.. still here, uneaten.. by my own stomach. For now, anyway." Anything was possible, yeah? Hayley was pleased, however, it had taken no convincing to get the Hufflepuff to join them. "With the Gryffindors, talking to Chloe." She answered without hesitance, as she too began to help herself to some food. First though.. "Pumpkin juice, Kyroh?" Noel had already poured himself some.

"I don't know that I would want to be in the same room as one, though... at least not without some sort of barrier or something."
Thornton's face scrunched up in confusion. "They die?" Thornton was unsure what sort of reason that was. Everyone died at some point. It did not occur to him, as he had not heard the rumours, that Hufflepuffs may not have a great life expectancy while they were still students.
"She's a lot of fun," Thornton said, shrugging as he looked to Kyroh. "I think you'd like her.."
Thornton turned back to Penelope, but before he could ask her how her summer had been, absolute chaos erupted down the length of the table. Eyes wide, Thornton stood on the bench - instinct instantly overriding manners - to get a better look. Tackling? Immobulus charms? Students sent to bed without dinner? And...
had Clara fainted?!
Biting his lip, the second year stood on his tiptoes, fidgeting nervously. There was nothing he could do, but he had to see what was happening.
Hmmm. "But what if it was a really really nice baby dragon that was tamed?" People always thought dragons were so vicious. It wasn't fair at all.
The third year opened his mouth but his eyes fickered the the Huffepuff beside him. Uhhhhhhhh. Leaning closer to Thornton he lowered his voice. "At Howarts. That's what I heard. Hufflepuffs...don't live." Very long that is.
He was about to say more when a commotion on the other side of the table caught his attention. Someone fainted and....his buddy Clara?!?!

He was busy staring at Clara some more until Kitridge came and blocked his view. Oh look Hayley! Not gobbled up at all. Ooops. "Well it wasn't a fact just a hypothesis." Because that made him sound super smart even though she hadn't been eaten by her own stomach.
He didn't even know if stomachs could do that.
He also didn't know a Chloe and so Kyroh was about to excuse himself from the conversation when he was asked something AGAIN.
"Only if you can pour it without touching the pitcher. Or your wand." Could SHE do the special wandless magic?

It sounded like Margo was well on her way to making lots of friends at Hogwarts. Janelle hoped the same could be said for her. However, she knew that finding a few close friends would probably be most important to her. "I wonder how many roommates I'll have. I've seen a few first years around the table. Hopefully we'll all get along."
Janelle laughed when Margo suspected boys as the cause of the disruption. "You're probably right. When you see trouble, there's probably a boy behind it." In Janelle's opinion, boys were OK as brothers and some of them could be good as friends. She just didn't get that whole boyfriend thing yet though. After seeing her sister broken hearted over a boy.........no thanks. She didn't need that drama.
Stifling a yawn, Janelle was imagining what her dorm room would look like. If she could "magic" herself there right now, it would be great. "So when do you think we'll get to go to our Common Rooms? It's been a realllly long day."

Ariel cupped her hands around her face to block out the ghost and narrow her surroundings.
Luckily, she seemed to sit next to a very talkative girl named Sophie Brown. Actually, she was quite overwhelming, too. Ariel could only muster up a painful looking smile to giver Sophie in appreciation to her 'welcome' and 'advice'. Everything she'd just said was very hard to believe right now. Especially about the negative feelings going away. She wanted to vomit and cry and go home.
To make matters....worse? that girl from the robe shop sat across from her and wanted to talk. It took Ariel a moment to answer, as she had to find her voice and swallow the sick feeling and decide to answer at all. "Ariel..." They were going to share a dorm? Was that how Hogwarts worked? They slept in dorms? She didn't even get her own room to hide away in at the end of the night?
At first Tia hadn't been sure the girl was even going to answer her. Maybe she was a mute who didn't speak ... and she thought maybe she would have to learn sign language to get through the next four years. Especially now that she discovered they were in the same house, as well as year. There was really no avoiding each other unless she didn't spend time in the dorm but she did want sleep and she didn't fancy a hostile sleeping arrangement ...
"It's nice to finally have a name to go with the face," Tia replied, smiling genuinely at the girl. And Ariel too; what a lovely name? Why was the girl so ashamed to say her name?

"Hi," Soph offered with a smile to the girl on the other side of the silent girl whose name was apparently Ariel, "m'Sophie. Welcome to Ravenclaw." Was THIS one going to reply, at least? Merlin.
Ah the girl sitting near Ariel seemed friendly enough so maybe all was not lost for Ravenclaw students and being anti-social. "Hi Sophie! Thank you!" She beamed happily. "I'm TiaMarie, but you can call me Tia." She paused noting the girl seemed familiar with Hogwarts and most likely not a new student. "You probably knew my aunt actually. She taught Muggle Studies up until this past Summer and Arithmancy before that." And she was slightly sad that she didn't get to have her aunt as a professor, but at least she was at Hogwarts and the plus was she didn't have her aunt here who could report to her mother. She was a free agent. Sort of.

"And you must be Miss Helena Ravenclaw, daughter of the founder of Ravenclaw House." Yes, she'd done her research.

He nodded as he smiled at her, liking her already. And she didn't seem to have a problem with him being there. "Do you House Ghosts like visiting other House tables?'' he wondered out aloud.
Wait .... he was a prefect?!? He didn't say anything when he was in Wiseacre's ... unless he just got the badge, but she didn't know. Nor was she about to ask. "Hey Adi," she smiled at the older boy. "Nope, guess not. But I'm hoping so ... I think I will." She glanced around at some of her housemates; well except for Ariel who was too silent, so far everyone seemed welcoming.
And just like that, it seemed it like was time to head up to the common rooms and off to bed. Well then. That was that. Time for the trek up to the tower, which made her nervous about the riddle thing, actually. At that moment, she almost, half-wished she had been sorted into Hufflepuff - at least they didn't have a long walk, hah.
