Trust Me-self Potion? What a silly name. But how interesting.

Agatha was curious now and wanted her potion to work. She would pay extra attention and would make sure to follow every single step perfectly because at least this class didn't require actually knowing spells, so she was good. At least most of that time, that was.

Hopefully that Potion didn't require any enchantments to work.

They were supposed to star with water. Well, that was a spell she knew. "Aguam- I mean, Scourgify." Ahem. You saw nothing. "Aguamenti." The Slytherin filled her cauldron with water and then turned the burner on at the maximum temperature.

Hady raised an eyebrow in question when she heard what potion they were brewing today. It was interesting to say the least. Really she didn't think she'd ever use it but it might come in handy someday.

Pulling her parchment in front of her on the table she picked up her quill and began to write down the notes as they appeared on the board. Simple enough really for the moment. That down she set the quill down and pulled her wand from it's holder.

Now it was time to get started. Pointing her wand inside the cauldron she cast a simple "Scourgify" to get it all clean. Cleanliness was best when potion making. That this second year remembered well. With a careful aim of her wand at the cauldron she spoke the next spell clearly just as she had the first. "Aquamenti." Instantly the cauldron was full of fresh clear water.

With a small smirk set in place she light the burner to it's maximum temperature before turning her attention to the Professor. She was ready for the next step.

Potions was easy. All you had to do was make sure that you worked with clean equipment, and follow instructions. How hard was that? AJ listened to the professor, and wasted no time cleaning her cauldron.

"Scourgify." That was one clean cauldron. AJ liked that they always used the same spells in potions. It sure did make her life a lot easier. Now, she needed some water. "Aguamenti." Once the desired amount was added, AJ ended the spell.

Fire time. This was the most fun. "Incendio!" All set. What next?

Ooooh. Trust stuff! Okokok. Norah arranged all her supplies as neatly as possible on her table before taking out a fresh sheet of parchment to write down the potion ingredients and procedure. Totally responsible, she WAS. Had to live up to the third year status, right? THIRTEEN year olds took notes. Apparently.

Okay. Magic time. Picking up her wand, the HUfflepuff muttered "Scourgify!" and smiled to herself because she REMEMBERED. Was Culloden prooooud yet? Ahem. Water time, yep. "Auguamenti!" Boom. She was on FIYAH. Speaking of which...one last spell to do. Norah concentrated on the burner and said "Incendio" as firmly as she could, letting out a small giggle when it worked. IT WORKED. Heh. Once the burner was at its maximum heat, she set her wand down and looked expectantly at Professor Culloden.

Cosgrach. Now, there was an interesting name. But, of course she wanted him to remember her name! SHE WANTED EVERYONE TO REMEMBER HER NAME. That's what got her locked up in the first place. Well...that and "insulting" a school mascot or whatever. La-Di-Da old news.

The pink-headed wonder ripped a piece of parchment, spraying it lightly with her raspberry mist spray, and scribbled down on it.

Smiling with pride, she stuck the lovely-scented note on the corner of her desk for the professor. Allllright, a self-confidence potion that she didn't need, allllright.

Looking over at some people nearby, she remembered to clean her cauldron before adding anything first. Thanks peeps. Ror cleared her throat and pointed her wand into the cauldron. "AGUAMENTI!!" SPLOOOSH--the water SPEWED out of her wand forcefully into the cauldron, richochetting, and splashing her face.

*COUGH, COUGH* -_____- She would get baptised by her cauldron.

Despite all that, water had managed to make it into the cauldron without spilling out anywhere that wasn't her face. She made sure to not speak Incendio as hard as she did for the next step. Rorie Hazelwood had too much power. TOO MUCH.

Kate had thought that was what it was, but she had decided to let Janelle explain things first. "That's okay. I don't know all the charms and spells either, but this one I do," she said. She kept a watchful eye on her cauldron but also looked toward Janelle, too. "It's Incendio. In-cen-di-o." She made sure to break up that last pronunciation, so Janelle was sure to get it.

"The wand movement isn't too hard either," she said. She made a motion that looked sort of like a wishbone. "Try it," she said, nodding toward Janelle's cauldron. "Oh, you did clean that first, right?" Because Janelle may not have known that spell either.

Toby made sure to direct his smile to Culloden properly after the greeting, while he continued setting up and cleaning all his potions equipment with repeated castings of 'Scourgify' on everything. Not non-verbally though, not yet. That was something he was still yet to succeed with.

Starting then, and with a... Trust Me-self Potion. Toby jotted down some notes about it while he had the time, and then got started with the instructions at once.

He'd already cleaned his cauldron, not thirty seconds ago, so he immediately went onto the next step and pointed his wand back into the confines of the pewter receptacle.

"Aquamenti." Toby focused on the spell, doing his best not to lose concentration as the too-steady trickle seemed to take forever to fill up the cauldron. When at last the water level was right up near the top, showing that the cauldron was basically full, Toby cancelled the spell and aimed his wand instead at the firepit below. "Incendio."

A flame was lit at once, fire spells being Toby's specialty. He twiddled his wand and soon the heat was set up to max, and that was the first step done. While he waited for the next, the Hufflepuff worked on his notes, writing down the ingredients and instructions so he could document everything as he went.

Cilla listened intently to Professor Culloden's instructions before she grabbed a piece of parchment and her quill and wrote her name before placing the piece of paper on her desk.

Now it was time to get started on the potion. This made Cilla slightly nervous as she hadn't brewed a potion before. Was it like Chemistry class back at her Muggle school? She copied down the instructions on the board and then set to work.

She grabbed the necessary equipment and pointed her wand at each of them and waved her wand in an "S" motion as she said, "Scourgify."

Cilla then performed the Aguamenti spell so that her clean cauldron was filled with water.

Cilla put on her spotless pair of gloves and placed the cauldron on the burner which she lit to the maximum level by pointing her wand and saying, "Incendio."

Janelle gave Kate a grateful smile. "In-cen-di-o", got it." She said the word under her breath several times, so she wouldn't forget it. Then Janelle watched as Kate demonstrated the wand movement. A wishbone, yep that described it perfectly. "Thank you so much Kate. You're a lifesaver......and yes, I did clean my cauldron. That spell I knew."

Janelle took a moment to write the spell down in her notebook. She was sure that she would have a lot of opportunity to use it, especially in Potions. "Thanks again", Janelle said to Kate. Then she turned her attention back to her cauldron. Before attempting the spell, she knew she'd better practice it a bit. First Janelle repeated the incantation. "In-cen-di-o, In-cen-di-o, Incendio.". Then she practiced the wishbone wand movement. That was a little tricky, but it seemed to get easier the more she practiced it. Checking her watch, Janelle knew she had better make this spell happen before the Professor moved on to the next step.

Pointing her wand at a point beneath her cauldron, Janelle made the wishbone movement. "Incendio", she said at the same time. Mercifully, the fire lit on the first try. Then Janelle set the burner to the maximum temperature. Trying to catch Kate's eye, she gave her a thumbs up. She was good to go.....for now.

SOPHIE. Dot wiggled in her seat as the older girl joined her, and then she leaned over to huggle her arm. It was so nice to be chosen like that, and by an older person who was already Culloden's favorite. It could only make the man like her more and more, now that Sophie was here.

"Hi. Hi, Sophie." Dot wiggled and smiled shyly before turning her attention to her supplies. Should she clean them ahead of time like Sophie, or wait for instruction? The point was moot, though, because the professor started class a moment later and had them get to work. Time to clean.

"Scourgify," Dot scrubbed out the inside of her cauldron before peering inside, just in case any remaining dirt or whatever would somehow make itself known. All clear, as far as she could see. "Aguamenti," she filled the cauldron with water, and again Dot leaned over to check inside.

Now... maximum heat? Was that any different than regular heat? "Incendio. How do I make it maximum, Soph?"

Anna woke up bored and it seemed that it wouldn't change throughout the day.
So Cosgrach, the former handsomest man of the world, was trying to enchant newbies with his smile. And if another silly girl would fall in love with him? Should she warn them that it would be a waste of time? She looked around and saw the newbies and then shrugged. It wasn't her job. Anna noticed the teacher pacing around and her heart missed a beat. She chewed her lips and wrote her name
on a paper and left it on her desk, just in case.

He was telling them about the Trust Me-self Potion they had to brew and his explanation about its usefulness made her believe that it was a great waste of time brewing it. Anna grabbed her wand and looked at her cauldron, without disguising her ill will, pointed it and muttered, "Scourgify!" and then "Aguamenti!", cleaning and filling the cauldron with water. She breathed deeply and cast the fire spell, "Incendio Maxima!". She had never cast so high flames before and it burnt her hair ends. Quickly she tapped on her hair and avoid it to being worse. Then she looked at Cosgrach as if she was asking him, "are you happy, now?" And then she pointed her wand towards the blackboard and then to her notebook, casting the nonverbal copy-and-paste spell. She chuckled as noticed his handwriting on her notes.

Zander idly watched the door, taking notice of every person who walked in. Not in a creepy way though... Just in a I-don't-know-what-else-to-do sort of way. Y'know? Like that. As the last few people trickled in, the Gryffindor reached for his cauldron, knowing that he'd have to cast a scourgify sooner or later anyways. Lifting his wand in the air, he mumbled a quick "Scourgify," before setting his wand back on the counter top and looking up at-- Rorie. -__________- Yes, he caught exactly what she had mouthed at him. And he was unfortunately turning a nice shade of tomato red because of it. IT WAS AN ACCIDENT, OKAY?!?!

Taking a deep breath, he looked away from the pink-haired girl and instead focused on Professor C. Oh wait, yeah totally focusing on him because the lesson was just about starting. YUP. His eyes had been there the whole entire time. Mhm.

Trust Me-self potion. Well, that was strange. And did not do anything that Zander would have imagined. Woah. That potion... It... It sounded like EXACTLY what this Fifth Year needed!!! And for once in his life, Zander Adair was actually kind of excited to try this one out? Not for the brewing of course... But y'know for the part where they got to drink it. They were going to drink it.... Right? "Are we going to get to test it out on ourselves, Professor?" Not that it mattered or anything. Ahem. Not like he was willing to volunteer. Not like it was the potion that would basically solve all his problems ever. Nothing like that. He was just wondering.

And yes, Kevin. He caught that look. And honestly, there were SEVERAL things it could refer to. But Zander was pretty sure what he was referring to. And uh, turning back to his own cauldron now. "Aguamenti," and once it was filled... er... Yeah, filled... He again lifted his wand once more, "Incendio." Ready for step two, sir!

So one thing Tia decided she liked automatically about Cosgrach was that he wasted absolutely NO time. The man just introduced himself and got right down to business. They were going to be brewing a confidence potion? The fourth year just sat up straighter as she observed the ingredients he'd written on the board. Not complicated in terms of amount of ingredients, but she was fairly sure she'd never worked with half of those things.

Her head turned at Zander's question and then her eyes went back up to the professor. SO would they be trying it on themselves? She was generally pretty sure of herself, but she guessed everyone at some point could use a little boost to sound more sure of themselves. As she waited to hear the answer, she filled her cauldron with water; a spell she could do with ease since she was twelve. "Aguamenti" And then light a fire at maximum. She knew only one fire spell, which she heard being cast by some of her peers, but she wasn't sure about changing the level of heat. Listening to some of peers some more she observed to see if they did anything more to their fire. Anything different. "Incendio," she cast, lighting a fire under her cauldron. Okay, ready for the next step, maybe? Unless our fire wasn't strong enough, in which case, she guessed she would figure that out.

The always awkward ordeal of cowtowing and mustering enough politeness to not seem suss in the begining-of-class greeting done and over with, Cutty had begun the process of cleaning his brewing instruments of contaminants and left-over debris when he heard two important questions that he thought might apply to his case.



The possible ramifications of the potion producing amplified to the point of ridiculous effects could be an unwanted outcome. Still, Cutty welcomed the idea of this potion. There was so much he could do in a room full of confident young soldiers.


"Scourgify." He said as he took his wand to his cauldron before placing it to the side by it's handle and taking aim at the unlit burner beneath it and adding luminescence with a verbal spell. The hollow rippling sound of water filling his cauldron as Cutty casted, "Aguamenti." into it. He took a moment to examine the flame and grew it slightly.

Puck just blinked when she heard the words. Had Professor Culloden said really that? A confidence potion? Her idea for the potion invention club was ruined unless she changed it…and really her potion wasn’t wooly or furry…heck you wouldn’t have to comb your tongue after drinking it…because c’mon seriously? Lion neck fur was not going to melt in a potion.

Professor Stealsyourideas we have our eyes on you. Except he’d called her Miss Prefect which was nice so she was going to be nice about the potion gaff. “Professor I must admit this is a really compelling Potion idea” she grinned, “I actually was trying to develop a confidence potion that works more as a spray perfume then as something you drink,” she grinned. She admitted with a beam.

Potions. She loved them. Really.

Hey hey she noticed that mouthing and gave Rorie a look. “I don’t think you need this potion,” she grinned as she pointed her wand into her cauldron “scourgify!” she cast with the S motion and swiveled her wand around in her cauldron at all of the things. WATER IN HER EAR!

Puck glanced over to Rorie and chuckled, as she was absolutely drenched.

She didn’t like that she was you know…still as she turned her attention around the room she gave little nods to her friends before pointing her wand into her cauldron. “Aquamenti” she watched it filling with water and waited until it looked like a good amount. “Incendio” she case and watched as the flames beneath her cauldron grew and grew and grew and there. It was on full heat. Seriously it was warm.

With her cauldron set she opened up her potions kit and pulled out her stirrers. “Scourgify” she cast on all of the stirrers like a pro! Before placing them in a row next to her cauldron ready for use when needed.

Trust Me-Self Potion.

The brunette girl then quickly copied the ingredients list then cleaned her cauldron with the scouring charm "Scourgify." Clean cauldron was necessary in order to minimize the contaminant. She had been knowing it since her first year. Then filled the water. "Aguamenti." And of course the fire. "Incendio." She then set it to the maximum level.

Okay, what's next? Oops, Culloden hadn't written the next step yet. Bianca just waited for him then.

Ha. Brooklyn could tell that Professor Culloden liked her even though his greeting to her wasn’t really any different than the one he gave anyone else. She just could tell. That and, as he’d gone on to explain what potion they’d be working on in the lesson, her ears perked up. It sounded almost like the potion she wanted to make for the workshop, so maybe she could borrow some of the ingredients list. She didn’t need self-confidence. She wanted the part that made others do whatever she wanted. There was every possibility that meant she’d actually have to do more research to find out what would do that, but for now, she’d work on making this potion.

The title sort of bothered her though. She didn’t see why a potion like this needed to sound stupid. Either way, she wrote it down along with the ingredients list and everything else he’d put up on the board. Maybe she could come up with a better name for it later on, just for her own purposes. Once that was done, she pulled her cauldron closer to her and pointed her wand inside. “Scourgify,” she said clearly, barely thinking about how angry Professor Quigley had gotten when he’d said they were all doing the charm wrong. Her cauldron still got clean, and then she set it back on the stand. “Aguamenti,” she said next, smirking a little as it filled with water. Once that was done, she pulled her hair back before lighting the burner. No burning her hair, and it was probably better out of the way anyway.

It seemed Professor Culloden was in a good mood, he was in a good mood... and as far as he was concerned it meant that surely everyone else was in a good mood too.

Zeke listened and pulled out his notebook for note taking as the Professor talked. This Trust me-self potion sounded like something he actually needed. He had such little faith in himself now, and he knew it, and he KNEW it was a problem. This was a good thing. After taking down the notes, Zeke started by preparing his workspace and cauldron. He cleaned everything first with a few well placed, "Scourgify,"s and then proceeded to set up his cauldron by filling it with water, "Aguamenti."

Once that was done, Zeke made sure he had his gloves on -- before he forgot, and then set about putting it on maximum heat. Weeeeeeee!

"Incendio."

Ready and rearing to go he was!

Angel looked at her cauldron and sighed, she wondered why someone hadn't invented self-cleaning cauldrons... she thought that it would be amazing if someone did, maybe she could try and see about it but she didn't think she would know how.

"Scourgify." Angel did the wand movement and then watched as the cauldron started to get clean, she was glad about that because it had gotten quiet dirty somehow, maybe she should clean her cauldron more often instead of waiting until it was needed.

Angel then stopped the spell when the cauldron was clean and held out her wand ready for the next spell. "Aguamenti" Angel did the wand movement and she looked down at her cauldron... she was glad she could just use her wand because otherwise she had a feeling that it would take her ages to full up her cauldron unless she used a fire engine and one of there hoses but she was sure she would get into trouble doing that.

Angel stopped the spell when her cauldron was full and then she looked down at where she needed to put the fire. "Incendio!" Angel did the wand movement again. She smiled as she lighted a fire under her cauldron... she then waited for the next step.

Margo looked up at Adi as he came over, her smile to him was short lived. She couldn't be happy in this class. She hated potions. "Thanks Adi" Margo said sliding her now empty cauldron back over to her. Awesome.....now she had to start over, Adi was helping and she appreciated that Margo really did, she just didn't want to be here at all.

So with out much gusto, Margo said. "Sourgify." And miraculously the cauldron cleaned it self right up. That made her have half a smile anyway.

Next...fill it with water. "Aguamenti" And again with good luck the cauldron filed with water. Maybe Margo was getting the hand of this thing. Now to light the fire. "Incendio" A small spar lite the fire underneath her cauldron....it wasn't as hot as it could be, but Margo go do that manual herself. "Thanks for all your help Adi." Margo said again trying to smile.

Adi smiled at Margo then watched her start over the first set of instructions. He was concerned about her being so discouraged by this class. Like him, it was easy to tell when something was wrong with her since she was usually so bouncy.

"You did great,'' he told her when she was done. "Just remember to clean your cauldron and all your equipment- the knife, stirrer, mortar... stuff like that before you use them.'' Adi hated to see the other Puff looking so down. "Cheer up, Margo. You're a fast learner and a great witch. Just keep focused and you'll do everything right. But if you need help again, I'm right over there.'' He pointed to his workstation from where he would still be keeping an eye on her. "Maybe next time you should work next to me.'' Yep, that sounded like a good idea. He could keep an eye on both her and Benny at the same time. "Yell... well not yell. Just let me know if you need help.'' Giving Margo a quick one armed hug, the fifth year headed back to his seat.

Pfffft. PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT. Sophie made a face at Culloden's cheeky reply to her greeting, and she very maturely stuck her tongue out at him. "Yeah, yeah, you're absolutely hilarious." He sure thought he was, didn't he? Pffffft.

Nerd.

Dot got a few head-pats at the huggle and a big smile, then Sophie set to watching and waiting for Tobes to come in while she cleaned her tools, and when he arrived, he got a BIG grin from this Ravenclaw. Goooood. The crew was here.

Trust Me-self Potion. The name sounded kind of dumb coming out of tough guy Culloden's mouth and she had to suppress a giggle, and she TOO wondered if someone who drank the potion was already self-confident and persuasive - like herself, she thought - then... would it just make them OBNOXIOUSLY and DANGEROUSLY so? Or would things stay about the same since they were already good at it? Curious. But the professor said he'd give more information as they went on, so Soph resisted the urge to add a question to the others that had already been asked, and instead quickly wrote down the instructions.

With the cauldron already cleaned, Sophie was quick to cast, "Aguamenti," inside to fill it with water, then as she peeked under her cauldron to light the fire, Dot had a question. Cute, she was.

"Some cauldrons have a manual way to do it where you can like physically turn up the burner and raise the flame with a knob thing," technical term there, "but some don't, so you can do it either way - with with the knob, if your cauldron has it, or with magic. I'll show ya the magical way. So allll we gotta do is cast the charm first - Incendio," she demonstrated even though Dot had already done it, and the flame lit under her cauldron. "Then, turn your wrist like this clockwise," and so she demonstrated, still with her wand pointed at the flame, and the flame was raised to a maximum. "See? The flame'll only get so big here, it knows what it's doing, so y'just twist the wand to the right till the flame won't get any bigger." Make sense?

While Bianca was waiting for the next step from Professor Culloden, there was a first year boy who looked confused. She wasn't usually being helpful to the younger student, but this boy was really looked confused and he was working not very far from her. Should she help? Well, maybe she should.

"Hey." The brunette girl then greeted the confused boy. "You need help to light the fire?" She asked. "Well, you can use fire-conjuring charm. The wand movement is like a wishbone like this." Grabbing his wand, The seventh year snakes helped him creating a wishbone like wand movement. "And the incantation is Incendio. Try it."

Kyroh's arms were currently busy, wrapped around his protector the moment the other boy sat down. After one final squeeze the third year let go of Toby and focused his attention back on the professor. Culloden DID owe him a hug. And he'd keep track of it.

But FIRST he had to keep track of this potion.

The trust Me-self potion.

Huh.

GABE would probably do well this potion! Maybe it could give it to him so he'd have extra or-....or....use it for himself? Yeah...he could....

Quickly his quill met his parchment and the written began.

DONE.

Grinning he pulled out his wand and pointed it inside the cauldron. "Aguamenti." Once it was full he pointed his wand at the burner and with a carful flick he spoke again. "Incendio." The fire started off small but quickly grew. Easy peasy really.

Beaming Kyroh leaned back juuuuust in time to see that pink haired girl in front of him get attacked by water via her own cauldron. "I don't think that's how it works." The spell. Maybe thats what she thought? Maybe water helped her hair stay pink? Hm. Either way, Kyroh raised his wand again and sent a hot-air charm her way.
