What ball would be complete without a dance floor and a buffet with lots of delicious food piled high on it?? If you're ready to put on your dancing shoes, head over to the large, sparkle-infused dance floor with your friends (or maybe that cute stranger in the mask over there!) and dance the night away. There is music provided by a Ghostly Quartet, but chances are you'll recognize a good chunk of the music on the playlist the ghosts are playing from...
Need some food? Then take a break on the side of the dance floor, where delicious treats have been arranged neatly on a long buffet table. Tiny finger foods such as spicy lobster rolls, reishi stuffed meatballs, and shimmering shrooms can be found if you want a nice little pick me up. Or, seasoned pumpkin souffle, raspberry-glazed pork chops, traditional shephard's pie, and more are available if you're looking for a larger meal. Don't forget to try one of the many delicious (and completely unhealthy) desserts lovingly prepared for the event, as well as topping it all off with something cold (and sweet) to drink.
Tora wandered the edges of the dance floor, swaying slightly to the music, and determined to have a good time. She glided by the dessert table and nipped a couple crystalized joberknoll feathers to munch on while she walked. She didn't have much of a direction going for her at the moment, but she hoped someone would come up to her soon or she would have to make her own way, stumbling into someone else's conversation to meet a new friend. No, that was not the way she wanted this night to go. She had prepared extra trying to make herself look as graceful as possible and that would be ruined if she just did as she normally would and barged into someone as a hello.
Sigh. For now, she'd make herself visible on the edge of the dancing and hope someone would need another person to talk to as much as she did.
"It is very nice to know. It makes you realize you aren't a loser.." he shrugged and winked innocently. I mean Kace was by far the biggest loser. He heard the girl's concerns and she mentioned James. Hmm....now why did he know that name? It sounded familiar. He shook it off and he was gonna dance with this girl till she found her date and him vice versa. He saw the girls look and he snickered. "I take it you know Emmy?" he asked.
Ohoooo someone is a bit full of themselves saying they are a great dancer. He laughed it off and she led the way onto the dance floor. He noticed she laughed at his wiggling eyebrows and it just felt nice to let loose. "Very true...you saw right through my plan. How are you soo good?" he asked and took her hands and danced with her. Just a harmless dance it was. After their little dance she noticed she found her guy because the girl in the blue dress was kissing someone. He saw the man leave his date (Isla) alone. He wasn't gonna have that. "May I have this dance?" he asked the dude's date. He didn't want her to feel lonely.

If he had seen her kiss another guy he probably would have went into a rage befitting his father’s at times. “But I mean if that’s what we’re going for to make him jealous I’m all for helping in that endeavor,” he teased and kissed her back again. He watched as the boy went over to talk to the other girl. He felt a little bad for leaving her like that but then again he had come here for Vinnie not to be with anyone else. But at least the other guy was being a good sport about it. He smiled at Vinnie and started dancing with her slowly.
He raised an eyebrow at her statement, “Every day?” That wouldn’t be good. “Hmmm I suppose we can make that happen. But I’m not responsible for what happens then. Speaking of dress I really do find this dress fantastic.” He grinned and ran a hand along her cheek. “I don’t think I’ve seen you so dressed up before. You look beautiful.” He smiled as she said she couldn’t stop staring at him and ran his thumb along her hand. “I noticed.” He shrugged and looked at the girl noticing the glare that Vinnie gave her. “I’m sure she didn’t know either. I think there’s a spell or something if I had to guess.” Seemed rather spell like to him anyway.

She heard the guy who she thought she came with say that his girlfriend had gotten him that ring and she knew that she definitely didn't. She looked between the two in front of her and it hit her that they were definitely together. She watched as they figured it all out and she stood there in silence, looking down at the ground. There was also something else that she felt like wasn't right but she couldn't figure it out.
Isla watched as the girl went to dance with a different guy and when the other guy she thought was hers asked her to dance, she shook her head. "I was wrong. Completely wrong. And I'm not going to ruin your night even more." She sighed. Who was it that she came with then?
She once again watched as the girl finished her dance and started talking to the guy again. "I'm just going to leave..." She trailed off, feeling really awkward and going back over to the buffet. Yeah this night was definitely not what she expected. She had almost ruined a relationship without even knowing it and she felt awful. The guy who the brunette-haired girl had been dancing with came over and asked her to dance. "I don't think so...especially if you have a girlfriend." She said, taking a cupcake and taking a bite out of it. "You seem nice and I appreciate it...but I just don't want to be pitied."
Vinnie eyed the dude next to her and gave him a smile. He didnt seem like a loser at all, he was very lovely." I doubt you ever have to feel like a loser, you seem like such a charmer." He surely had a little fanclub hating on his girlfrient.Snort. " But i get it, i get super insecure from time to time." Somedays were just....not good for confidence. Did she know Emmy?! Well...knowing was a bit much...but she had heard a lot about her. "Not really but i think i spoke to her once. She seems nice. Just like you." Wait....wasnt she Brae's cousin's girlfriend? Or was her name Emma?! Ugh why couldnt she remember?!
Dancing with her mystery friend the slytherin finally got intot he party spirit. maybe this night would be a good one in the end. "I dance a lot....in clubs and on parties. One of my friends is great at twerking." That made her thing of that one time she put a cushion into her jeans to twerk...cause lets be real...her bum was tiny. "You're not so bad either though." He was actually a pretty good dancer, for a guy anyway.
The mystery guy was great but Vinnie was so happy that she had found James. It all made so much more sense. This was going to be a good masquerade now. Chuckling softly she ran her fingers through his hair."One ravenclaw in particular. He's pretty special you know." To be fair she had might quite a lot of ravies but....they had all let her down. But James wouldnt, she just knew it. "Good thing you dont have to worry about that though." She would never kiss another guy and he knew it. Just like she knew he would never cheat on her. They had been through too much already to be together. "Instead of talking what ifs you should keep kissing me", she smirked against his lips.
When James commented on her dress the brunette couldnt help but grin like an idiot. She had hoped he would like it...after all she picked it just for him." I am glad you like it. It took some time to find the perfect dress." There was no way she would have gone with an ordinary one...special occasions called for special dresses. "I mean saw me in skin tight, short dresses countless times. Thought it was time for something new." He looked stunning as well, he always looked stunning but tonight there was something special about his tux."Maybe you should wear that mask more often, its hot." It made him look so mysterious and somehow dangerous. There were several uses Vinnie could think of."Dont make me blush again babe..." Somehow only he could make her blush....batman powers or something. He didnt even have to say much to make her blush...it just happened." I dont really mind anymore.I found you and thats all that matters." Stroking his cheek she gazed up into his eyes.
Vinnie had been so caught up in the moment of finding her boyfriend that she had forgotten about the other girls pressence. Oops. "Thats so funny cause one of my friends likes donuts too... i even bought her a donut bag and pillow and socks. I bet if she could she'd be a living donut." So true, Isla would probably BATHE in donuts. Maybe.....the slytherin could arrange something like that.
When she had gotten back from the dance with her mystery friend she felt a bit bad, seeing how sad the other girl seemed to be. " You really dont have to leave. Just... have some fun with us. " After all...she probably didnt know it was HER boyfriend. If James was right and there was a spell on something it wasnt her fault at all.

Despite the fact that this night was not at all what he had imagined, the prefects were spot on with the music. It got on you in the mood alright. Just as the new song started, the fifteen year old bowed his head ever so lightly and pulled her closer, resting his free hand on her waist.
And then they moved.
He wasn't sure but he assumed they were suppose to waltz. That wasn't happening obviously. Duh. He did however try to keep his movement a little close to it.
Step. Step. Step.
Twirl.
And repeat.
With the next twirl, he pulled her just a little bit closer so he could ask: "Your feet good so far?"
Oooooh! She liked this, with the twirling and everything. That was an improvement on the night for suuuure. She made a mental note to tell her brother that the ghostie orchestra thing was cool, even if it'd be cooler for them to hire Agro or TDK next time to keep with the times and all, but for now she focused her attention on her dance partner.
... who was pretty good. Ruby herself was more of a dirty dancer by choice but this sort of dancing made her feel like royalty so she wasn't complaining.
"So far so good, Romeo." She said appreciatively. But he best keep it up right? How about some harmless encouragement? She leaned in and kissed his cheek, a sort of thank you for asking her to dance in the first place. It was the little things like that which made all the difference to her.
"I didn't think my brother and the other prefects could pull it off after everything, but they tooootally have." And she was impressed. And by everything she meant that whole situation with Gregoire in the forest. The death. But it was nice having a night when people were focusing on nice things instead.
... oh wait, was that too much of a hint to her identity? Oh well. She didn't particularly feel like she needed to be anonymous. Things worked better for her when people knew who she was anyway, got more attention that way.

His grinned widened a bit when she actually decided to go along with the nicknaming thing, even with calling him that. Aw yeah, this event was getting better already.
"Great." Oh, but, hm, what to call her?? David considered that for a brief moment. "I dunno. Miss Awesome? Miss Pretty? Miss...I dunno, you can choose your own if you want." He'd gotten to choose his, so it made sense she should be allowed to choose hers if she wanted to. That was part of the fun, right?

Now would this student just STOP with the flailing!?
The astronomer tugged on his ear a bit in a feeble attempt to make the boy STOP, when he caught the object of said flailing out of the corner of his eye. Girlfriend? Who was that?
Waving with his free hand towards ... er.... whoever that was, he smiled big. Nooooooothing to see over here. The professor and the Headmistress had it all taken care of!
Wait what? No...punch for him...?

Maddox was officially over this man. How did one get punch from whatever the hell he'd managed to force out with his tongue stuck to the roof of his mouth like this? No, Airey was just being difficult, this was a new level of ridiculous even for him and Maddox wasn't sure how to deal. The man openly facepalmed when Airey blindly waved over at the Headmistress but the facepalm doubled as a response to the fact she WAS ignoring them and doing an awful lot of giggling.
Merlin what was WRONG with everyone tonight??? Did someone mess with the punch? Some draught of craziness or the other.
Again, this spell was a bad idea. Fully fed up, Maddox grabbed at his own wand while shoving at Airey to let go of him. If he persisted at this much longer, the man was likely to give him a real fright of the feline persuasion.

Brooklyn didn’t do mystery. Dressing up, though…she definitely was up for that. She had just not felt like going along with the whole masquerade thing. She’d much rather be noticed, and acknowledged. The tiny redhead was goin g to make sure of that, what with how sparkly she was. Sparkly and white, except for the flame of her hair, carefully curled and pulled over one shoulder. The little queen was an ice princess for the night, and she’d even tried to put on makeup. Still, no mask, and there had been a quizzical look on her face almost as soon as she had stepped into the event area only to find that she couldn’t remember who anyone was. That was way too dangerous, and it reminded her of the Potions final last term, when the Hufflepuff prefect had gotten it into his head she liked hugs.
That had been cleared up, of course. She was standing by him remembering that understanding, but then, she couldn’t remember what he looked like. What anyone looked like, and it was annoying her. Therefore, she’d simply headed over near the buffet table, skirting around the two fighting (Was that Professor Flamsteed? And Professor Quigley? She thought so, but everything was all fuzzy in her head.) and making her way for the desserts. Maybe some sugar would make her feel better, and she beelined for the sugar quill crème brulee. She’d always accept sugar quills. It was maybe one of the only things she and her sister shared.

Austin was too fidgety to stand, or even sit. He was awaiting Ophelia, and she seemed to be taking a long time. So, to calm his nerves, he began walking around, hoping to find someone to talk to. The third year tried to keep an eye out for her, but none of the girls looked like her. Actually, he didn't recognize anyone on the dance floor. Even those who look like they could be in his year didn't look familiar.
He decided to go by the dessert table, mainly because he was too nervous to eat anything. Plus, it never mattered whether or not one was hungry. There was always room for dessert. Grabbing a few carmalized fairy lights, he wondered around, munching. He paused and looked around the dance floor. Maybe Ophelia couldn't find him and decided to dance instead. There weren't many people on the floor, so it wasn't hard to eliminate a few people. Half were guys, and half of the girls had brown hair. Ophelia's hair was blonde, so that wasn't too hard. Looking along the side of the dance floor, he saw a girl, who was probably older than him standing on the side lines. She had the same idea of hitting up the dessert table. She was blonde, but she was too tall to be Ophelia. But he decided to talk to her, mainly because he needed something to help distract him from his nerves.
He walked up to her. "Hello Miss." Why was he so formal?

Just as she was about to give up her gracefully standing off to the side tactic Tora saw another student approach the dessert table. Good choice, desserts and hopefully he would make another good choice and come talk to her. Yes, looks like he did. Smart kid.
...formal kid. Well, it was a formal dance, Tora supposed. Why not?
"And good eve, Sir." she replied in kind, bowing a bit before she forgot that she wore a dress and was actually supposed to curtsey. Oh well. She peered through her mask at the boy, trying to guess what year he was in and if she knew him. Younger than her for sure, but definitely too tall and awkward to be a first year. Not that she would know him anyway with the weird aura of anonymity about the whole gala. Let's see if she knew him by the way he talked.
"I see you also like desserts instead of dinner? Though I prefer the joberknoll feathers to the candied fairy lights myself," she said waving about the second of the two feathers she had picked up.
Did she just... bow? Well, that was unusual. Normally girls curtsied at formal events. At least that's what his mother had always taught him. 'Course his mother also said that he should bow, and he didn't do that. Plus they were both eating dessert before dinner. Which was also not supposed to happen at a fancy party. Breaking the rules today."I'm just waiting for someone. I didn't want to eat without her."
In a normal situation Austin would have taken her joberknoll feather and eaten it right there. But they were supposed to be on their best behaviors. No one knew who he was, and so it was his chance to show people he actually had manners. Austin Moore was not always some rowdy kid that liked to cause mischief. No, he was a sophisticated man who was able to hold his own. "Feathers are meant for Quills and Potions, not for eating, sweetheart." He finished off the rest of his fairy lights, swallowed, and spoke again. "And if you keep up that waving I'll have to eat it myself." He didn't care much for the treat, like he said, feathers were for quills and potions. But he would eat the entire feather without a second thought.

SPOILER!!: AJ's going to be so pumped when she realizes who is behind that mask! XD
"True. I think he tried to hide it at first.'' Adi did, actually but talk about EPIC fail. Especially after that Halloween Astronomy class when AJ had refused his help. "I guess he can't help the way he is when it comes to his feelings. If you two do fight again, he wouldn't survive that time.'' Adi knew all too well the agony he had been through during those two weeks. People may call him crazy if they want to or tell him he was way too young to know that AJ was his ideal match but he didn't care. They didn't know what he felt. "I suppose that's one good thing that came out of that, isn't it?'' Benny was probably looking more and more of a wise owl tonight than usual in AJ's book. Hehe.
Heh. So maybe Adi was going out of character sometimes but he could keep it up for a while longer, riiiiiight? "Um, thanks. It's definitely because of the mask.'' WAS his bestie even going to be more outgoing with his own mask on or was it going to be awkward for him? Adi had no idea.
Ahhh! AJ mentioned toe stomping and Adi had just thought of the same thing. Another one of the many times their brains worked in sync. "I'm just following you. You're a great teacher.'' And the talk returned to himself. "It's going to be difficult to find him. He's probably not here for all we know.'' Adi smiled a small smile. He loved how AJ really wanted to be with him. Wouldn't she be surprised when she found out he was there all along? Right now though, he couldn't keep his his off of her. There was a song that kept echoing in his head particularly the line 'I've never seen anything quite like you tonight'. "But we'll find him sometime,'' 'Benny' assured AJ, coming out of his reverie and not wanting to get her spirits down. "In the meanwhile, let me learn some more steps so I can impress Angel someday.'' Haha. That was waaaaaay off. Benny wouldn't say that outright.
AJ nodded. "I get that." That was her whole tactic throughout their fight. She wasn't sure how well she managed to pull it off because she was absolutely dying inside. Thank goodness they could put the whole situation behind them and move on. This was the most that Benny had ever talked to her before. "You're such a good friend." Adi was lucky to have a friend like Benny. Good friends that you could trust in every situation really were hard to come by. "I know I wouldn't survive." How could she when her other half was missing. "The thought of losing Adi is one of my greatest fears." A few years ago if somebody said that would be coming out of her mouth she would have said they were crazy. After meeting Adi her view on boys changed. Really he was an enhanced best friend. It didn't get any better than that. "Look at you being all Ravenclaw." AJ couldn't help but to tease her friend slightly. "I agree with you though." She couldn't go back and change the past, but she could learn from it.
"Maybe you should invest in a mask for everyday wearing." That probably wouldn't help him since everybody else wouldn't be wearing them. "Or maybe not." Bad idea. He was shy and that was okay. No need to go and try to fix something that wasn't broken.
More smiles for Benny. "Thanks. There's nothing to it. All you have to do is feel the music... your body will do the rest. Oh, and just don't stomp toes." They had already went over that little tid bit though. Not here? How could Adi not be here? "I figured he would have to be here since he is a prefect." If she came for nothing he was going to get it. She was in a dress for crying out loud. "Maybe he is just busy with prefect duties." Besides the obvious power that came with being a prefect, it sounded like absolutely no fun to her. Don't sign her up. The next thing that came out of Benny's mouth made AJ laugh out loud. "Looks like my sister has you in love." Spill it, Benny. "She's already completely head over heels with you so I don't think you need any help impressing her." Ugh, word vomit. "Errr... can we keep that between us too?" Thinking before speaking was a talent she obviously didn't possess.

Ugh, that sound of her own fake giggle was just atrocious. It was nearly enough for Bunz to drop the whole act entirely. But why stop now, when the girl was taking off her mask?
"No probleeeeeem!" she sing-sang, suddenly getting an idea. "Oh, I think I just saw my BFF 5 EVER! Gotta go say hi! So byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" Yep, she was getting out of here before she had a slip-up similar to fellytone/cellytone. The Headmistress quickly slipped away from the Slytherin through a gap between two masked students.

Tora eyebrows rose almost above her mask. Sweetheart? Certainly not a firstie then. But still definitely younger than her, or maybe not? She didn't really know anymore. Maybe he would say something else to give away his age? Or perhaps his house? Or just, you know, his name? It would be boring though to ask, and probably a little impolite since it was supposed to be a masked ball. They even went through the trouble of putting that spell on the party so no one knew who anyone else was even if they took their masks off. Speaking of which...
"I doubt you'd be able to find her, or she find you, anyway. They put a spell over the area so you can't recognize anybody. But who did you have in mind and what does she look like? I could help you look." Since she couldn't seem to guess anything substantial about this boy she might as well try to help him on his goose chase. It could be fun, and who knows, they might be able to find a loophole in the spell and find the girl, after all. Or when they finally found her they could forget again. Cross that bridge when we come to it, she thought.
And about the candy quills, didn't this guy know anything about sweets? He was at the dessert table after all. "You do know that they have candy quills to suck on in class, yeah? So quills are also made for eating and besides these are candied quills. They're really very good." she said and then crunched on the end of the formerly waved about quill. Since she didn't know who it was she didn't want to call his bluff about eating it. He can't very well eat it if she was.

Right... Of course the place had a spell on it. She was right about them coming here together. How was he ever going to find her in this? The dance had gone underway, and there were so many students here. A lump grew in his throat, and suddenly it was hard to speak. He invited her here to have a great time, and to cheer her up after the recent events. And now she was either not coming, or wondering around by herself. This was horrible and it was all his fault. Even the mask couldn't hide how worried he was about her. He took a deep breath to keep his cool. He had a reputation to uphold. "Hmm, well, she's short and blonde. Which doesn't actually help matters, but it does eliminate at least half the student body." Because half the student body were male.
"Sure, they make them specifically for candy. But how do you know they're not made with actual feathers? Hmm? And you don't know where those animals have been. There could be all sorts of gross things on that feather." He was about to eat his words. Literally. For she just waved the half eaten feather in his face. The fact that it was half eaten didn't actually bother him. It was the fact that he just told her gross things were probably on that feather. But he was a man of his words, and she did wave it in his face again. So he did just like he said and took the feather right out of her hand and ate it. Austin looked her right in the eyes as he chewed. It wasn't entirely bad as he had thought, but he still wasn't a fan of it.
A proud look entered his eyes as he finished the feather. The Ravenclaw looked around the room once more. Still no sign of her. Sigh. What was taking her so long. He took another deep breath, this one sounding of defeat, and turned to the girl he had just met. "Would you like to dance?" He had spent way too long waiting for Ophelia, and was bored out of his mind. Austin was impatient, and wanted to do something now. And dancing seemed fun. There were lots of people waltzing around, and he wanted to be a part of it.
Wait...his girlfriend wasn't here? Then why did he come? "Why didn't you stay and take care of her then?" Isla asked. She wasn't trying to be rude, she was just curious.
So he knew her? She then really looked him over and felt the same thing. "Y-yeah...I swear I've talked to you before or something. And it is a low blow, but I've dealt with it before. I haven't really had the best relationships before anyways, except for one." She said, taking another bite of her cupcake. She really wanted to have a fun time but she couldn't believe herself, going after someone who had a girlfriend. Technically she didn't know, but still. It could have been worse.
Isla looked over to wear the guy was pointing and watched as the guy she thought she had been with and the brunette-haired girl were kissing. She made a disgusted face because she felt like that was something she definitely should not be seeing but she felt like it was an even deeper feeling that was telling her that it was gross. Isla looked back over at the guy in front of her and sighed. "Is your girlfriend going to get mad if I do?" She asked him.
Kace shrugged, "She can be very persuasive. She does what she wants and she is very independent. I admire that in her actually.." Did he just admit that? Yup he did. "Plus I don't even know if it was her or not. I mean I can't really remember anything.." he said and it was just frustrating! He wanted to know if she was here but he didn't feel the tug like he did before at the carriages. Maybe it was her?
As Kace was hearing her vent about being alone on the dance floor, he could hear the sadness in her voice. "Well in my opinion no girl like you should be alone on this night.." He wanted to try and make the sad girl happy. "I swear I could have met you before. I feel like someone has mentioned you before.." he said trying to remember her voice. "Come on one dance won't hurt." he pushed her using his award winning smile. "Nahh I don't think she will be mad. If she asks I will say I was dancing with friends. It seems like you need a good time.." he said looking at the brunette girl he was dancing with in the blue dress. She was lip locking with a guy. He turned away and gave them their privacy.

Woaahh did he just get complimented by this lovely girl in the blue dress. Being called a charmer. He smiled wide and bowed to her. "Why thank you m'lady.." he grinned even more. He shrugged and knew some girls even the most confident one's get the most insecure. On the topic of Emmy it made him miss her even more. Ooohh so she did know her. He smiled and knew Emmy and him were kind of like the same person. "Yeah we are alike in so many ways. A lot of people ask we didn't get together sooner but enough about her let's dance!"
He could hear the music pounding now it moved onto a song they could finally dance to. He accepted her compliment about him dancing well. I guess he was a good dancer after all? Surprised the puff that is for sure. "Well I am pretty good in the clubs too." he bragged to the girl. He could lie but she would never know. He grinned and then began to dance to the Cupid Shuffle. He heard it playing. It was a song that taught how to do it in the song. He grabbed the mystery girl by the hand and he began to dance. "Come onnn tell me you don't know the Cupid Shuffle.." he challenged her.

Short and blonde, short and blonde, short and...blonde. Tora scanned the crowd without much hope. Even ruling out all the girls dancing or generally attended by other guys there were plenty of girls that were blondes. One of these being Tora which, come to think of it, was probably why this kid had come up to her in the first place. Poor bloke, he seemed really concerned.
Of course while her attention was diverted looking for someone she didn't know something disappeared from her hand. "Whaaaa-" she gasped snapping her head back to her now candyless fist. "I thought you just said they were gross!" That second phrase had more of a hard edge to it than a joke: this boy was lucky he wasn't messing with the Tora of a few years ago. That Tora would have bit his head off. But she smiled to curb the exclamation. All friends here! Though she didn't like that smug face he was making.
Oh geez. Now he wanted to dance with her? Didn't he have that other lady love to dance with...right he couldn't find her. Tora eyed the dance floor warily. "All right." she said. "But we should be productive about it too. What's her name? We can shout it randomly as we dance by people and see if she responds." it would be a fun way to cover a lot of searching area.
"You owe me another one of those feathers by the way," she muttered to her partner as she took his arm at the start of the next song. "Channel your inner graceful" she muttered, but this time to herself.

"Actually they're disgusting. But I had to prove a point, and I am a gentleman." He wasn't entirely sure if that was what gentlemen did, mainly because he wasn't one. But the whole aura of the night had him feeling like one. Maybe he would try this out more often. It was fun. But he was glad that she didn't try to attack him or anything. That would not have made this night fun. And he was all about fun.
"Ophelia." That was her name. She was right, they could be productive about it, but maybe being on the dance floor would help. If Ophelia were here, she could see him out on the floor and come up to him. When the next song came up, Austin took the girl around her waist, and began dancing. He tried to be a gentleman and keep his focus on her, but he was too busy looking around for Ophie. He called out her name a few times, but there was no response. She had to be somewhere. Everyone who attended Hogwarts seemed to be here. All but one.
"Next Hogsmede trip I'll buy you some more." That's what gentlemen did, right?

"Opheliaaaaaaaa!" Tora called as they, her and this boy, twirled past a group of girls standing just off to the side. No reply? Okay, next group. "OOOOOOOOOphheeeelia!" Some strange glances, but no girl was rushing towards them to claim her man. Although the strange glances brought up a good point: they probably looked very strange. Tora didn't care, this was more fun than sulking about with no friends.
"I don't think snatching a candy from a girl's hand is very gentlemanly," she admonished between shouts of 'Ophelia'. "But I do expect you to deliver on that promise, you know. Next Hogsmeade trip I want a nice basket delivered to my dorm, thank you very much."
"OOOOOOOPHHHHEEELLIAAAAAAA"
Another thought occurred to her.
"Or House if we're not in the same house."
Hop right, hop left, circle partner.
"OOOOPHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELIA"
Step, step, step, spin, glide.
"Or just mail it by owl post?"
It was starting to sound like she was shouting 'Oh! Feeeeeela!' now, which might be part of the problem. If the girl couldn't recognize her name that might be why she wasn't coming. Ahem.
Noel was focusing on the dance. He might be good but that didn't mean he couldn't lose focus and not step on her toes. So when she leaned in and placed that kiss on his cheek, Noel was taken aback. Wide-eyed behind that mask of his, the fifteen year old paused just to take that in, which made her bump into him.
Because oh.
No one had kissed him besides Maddie. Granted the kissing with Maddie was of a different kind, but still. He was glad that the girl didn't know who he was. Forcing himself to play it cool, Noel continued the dance - trying to ignore that he had missed a step or two just because she had kissed him.
His brow rose hearing her - her brother and the other prefects? His mind began to connect the dots. He didn't really know ALL the prefects and who their siblings were but ..... if this girl was who he was suspecting her to be ....... then .... um.
His eyes carefully scanned her masked face to know but he failed - he wanted to ask so badly if she was a certain ravenclaw prefect's sister. His movements may have been affected by the new information coming in light. A little bump here, and a little-stepping-on-toes there. Not being able to hold himself, Noel asked: "Does your name start with the letter 'R'?"

Ahh, yeppers. Benny was indeed a good friend. It was almost a shame that Adi had to accept the complement directed at the other boy. Well, at least Benny knew what an awesome friend he was since Adi had let him know that before. "Interesting. You two have the same fear. Loosing each other, I mean.'' Adi did NOT want to think about that prospect. His days would be dark if AJ left him. DARK, I tells ya. Another small Dragon- like smile. "I have my moments.'' Nope. Benny spent a whole lot of time among books and it always seemed to Adi his bestie had a whole lot of knowledge.
Oh darn! The Hufflepuff really wanted to laugh at that suggestion. "You can design it if you like. I would let Angel do it but she might make me a pink one.'' Annnnd with a reply like that, he BARELY managed to keep from grinning. But seriously, nothing was wrong with being shy in his books.
Feel the music. Now that was something Adi could do VERY well. And with the awesome music currently playing, it was even easier for him to do so. Why? Because practically all the compositions were familiar to him. "I think I can do that much. When you have a best friend who likes music so much, it's something you can learn to get used to.''
Was it just sweet how much she wanted to find him and he was right there? "Duties comes with the badge, right? Don't worry. You'll find him. Or maybe he'll find you.'' Luckily she had that unicorn necklace on. Adi wasn't sure he would have been able to recognise her in the dress. Uh oh. Talk of Angel and Benny. Now, Adi already knew that Angel was all over in love with his friend but he also knew Benny... a whole lot more reserved and he had not even said those three words to Angel as yet. "Yes, I can.'' Time to steer the conversation in a different direction, yes? Before he slipped up with something he didn't know about or wasn't supposed to say. "How about a spin?'' Adi lifted his hand that was holding AJ's up so that she could have a twirl.
Ror didn't know what this kid's beef with pink was about, but she sure wasn't one to judge. "Oh yeah," She mumbled looking down at herself and shrugging. "I don't know, I was just feeling pink today." The poofy-haired girl watched him take off his hat, "Nice outfit." Reaching over to pick up the hat, she removed her own tiara. "Switch?" He smelled good. Like crisp, new clothes.
He was staring and he realized that, but he was having the hardest time getting himself to stop, it felt like his blue eyes were glued to the girl's slim form as she shrugged her shoulders and looked herself over with eyes less admiring. Damien shook his head, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. "Well, uh... It suits you... Really," The Gryffindor nodded, smiling effortlessly at her next words. "Thanks...Yeah, sure." Damien handed over his hat and reached for her crown, placing it delicately onto his head, where it lay and twinkled in his nestle of golden brown hair.
"How's it look?" He asked, posing with his hands on his waist.

Taking a minute to watch him place it on his head, she then put the hat onto her pastel rainbow hair. "You look mega fabulous!" Rorie mused with a giggle. Swiping a fairy wand fern or whatever, she jabbed towards him playfully, "En guarde, fiend!"

The excess of calming draught was still working its wonderful magic and he had no idea who this girl was...and she didn't know who he was, either. So, it was essentially hurting no one. Did girlfriends get mad when you took pictures with another girl? "Would you care to take one with me? A photo, I mean?"
Gabe was quite enjoying this anonymous business. They should do this more often!

Could he tell because of her amazing fashion sense, whoever he was? Yes? Right? Finally, some appreciation! Ruby was so pleased by this that she didn't even point out that he was on the verge of failure with the dancing thing with the bumping and almost squishing her feet. Good thing she was fast on them.
"It sure does, Romeo." She winked at him.

Having finished her newly acquired cupcake after the first one had ended up on the floor and the bottom of her dress the young Slytherin wasn't sure what to do next. She didn't feel much like eating anything else and most everyone around her was either talking to someone else or dancing. Why had she come to this again?
Not knowing who was who was starting to get a bit frustrating honestly. Hady slowly made her way around everyone else making her way around the room. Surely there was someone that was alone like herself that would like someone to talk with right? Not everyone could be busy...if she didn't come across anyone soon maybe she'd venture out and check the other places like the photo area or something.

Freaking food, man.
His mind could go fuzzy and he could have no idea who anyone was but something that wasn't about to change anytime soon was his love for food. Grayson couldn't get enough and, unsurprisingly, he'd reached a very early point in the evening where he'd gotten hungry so, naturally, he came here. To the buffet table. To get some FOOD.
But, looking around at the menu, there didn't seem to be many of the dishes that he liked. Everything sounded so fancy and proper and it made the sixth year even more confused than he already was. Yo, what happened to a simple helping of fish and chips? Or chicken nuggets? You know what would be the best option? A Big Mac. This was why Hogsmeade needed to have some Muggle fast food stores as well. It was only right.
