Now that Ezra has the encantation down hopefully he turned to face his toadstool. As he prepared to cast upon it he couldn't help but to think once more how odd of a plant it was. Who, if anyone, would have these in their garden to converse with each other all night when you were trying to sleep? And if you had to silence them, just have regular toadstools. Wizards worked too hard sometimes.

"Alright you, no talking in class." The third year said with a smirk to the talking toadstool. The thing picked up the last word he said and began to croak back to him, "Class...class...class...class."

"Hey didn't you hear me?" And with a jab of his wand Ezra said the silencing charm. "Silencio!" The toadstool emitted a final croak and then fell quiet. "That's what I thought, bud."

Now that Hady had silenced the Toadstool she needed to label the pot. Getting herself a name tag sticker thing she clearly wrote her name on it with her quill.

There. Sticking the name tag thing onto the pot that held her toadstool she was ready to continue. After cleaning up her work area, putting her wand away and getting to her feet Hady carefully took the pot into her hands. Walking to Greenhouse 2 she set the pot down on the desk there like told before returning back to the other greenhouse.

Standing behind her table she waited silently for whatever they might have to do next.

Dante LIKED the professor. Yes, they needed to silence these talking plants because it was getting both annoying and weird. Plants weren't supposed to talk! They were supposed to sway back and forth to the wind and give oxygen or be useful in potions or whatever. But not talk, and most definitely not copy people'e talk. Dante just frowned at the plant and didn't speak further. Good thing it didn't copy their moves, too. That would have been super weird.

Anyway, spell practicing time.

The snake was familiar with the spell very much. He was familiar with most of them. But he rarely got the chance to try it out and see if he got the hang of it or not. However, it was now the time to see about this spell.

First, he started waving his wand around without the incantation, just getting the hang of the movement. When it seemed that his hand could do it without a problem, since it was a simple one he turned to face the toadstool.

"Silencio," He said jabbing his wand at the plant. Pause. Silencio, the plant repeated. Hmph. That obviously did not work.

The whole 'I'm silencio-ing YOU' argument seemed to carry on for just around three minutes. The plant won, of course. Though Zander did put up a good fight with all his instant protesting. Plant may have won over all, but Zander totally caught the snitch. Okay? Totally. Though his frustration was at it's peak at this point... And he had to stop and remind himself that this was only a plant and that the plant couldn't actually silencio him and-- Uh.

He was in the middle of something, was he not? Ahem. Right. Hopefully no one saw that whole debacle... Uh. Moving on here.

With a sharp point of his wand, he quickly cast the "Silencio!" charm once and for all in hopes that the annoying plant would finally stop talking so much!

Thank Merlin. It worked. "HA! Who's doing the silencing now, huh?" The Fifth Year wore a goofy, little smile with pride as he looked around the place. Uh. What were they meant to do next?

Time to try the silencio charm again, his attempt the first time didn't work out so well. Maybe it was because he was distracted and wasn't concentrating? Hmm could be. Could be. He held his wand at the ready again and was prepared for the Toadstool to meet his enemy of the day. He began concentrating on the spell and took a deep breath and began.

The big puff jabbed his wand at the plant and said, "Silencio!" and then he heard the toadstool slowly getting quieter and quieter. He successfully did the spell. He grinned with satisfaction and looked around and saw others had did it well too. He got a name tag and scribbled it with his quill....

After he stuck it on he picked up his pot and walked to the other greenhouse and saw others were there too. He placed it down and waited to hear what he had to do next.

Gently Lux patted the toadstool on its head. She actually rather liked the little plant when it wasn't repeating words every second. "That's much better," she told it with a smile to let it know that there were no bad feelings between them. The toadstool couldn't help that it acted like a parrot.

After cleaning up her work station, Lux worked on a label to place on the pot:

There, now Professor Millard would know which one was hers. After dropping the toadstool off in Greenhouse two with the others, she made her way back to her seat for further instructions. Maybe class was over and that was a shame because she enjoyed this subject a lot with all the awesome plants they learned about and worked with.

Yeah the practicing of the Silencio spell wasn't helping matters much. Now his toadstool was actively contributing to the noise in the greenhouse and Ben was trying to best to focus on what he needed to do so he could get it to quite and be able to move it into the other greenhouse. Taking up his wand, he prepared to try it out on the toadstool itself, the jab required the easier of the two things that needed to be done.

Silencio...silencio...silencio.

"Silencio!" he then cast for real, jabbing at the toadstool. Nothing, it still made sounds that sound like it was echoing him. "SIlencio!" Benny cast again with another jab of his wand and it almost seemed to work. Until a few moments later it was still talking. The toadstool from the student next to him had been the one that went quiet.

Toby squinted down into the plant pot at his toadstool, still squeaking away, though now with a 'siLENcioooo' interspersed between every other 'cooooool'. It was still sort of cute... in an eye-twitch provoking sort of way. The Hufflepuff watched and listened for a few moments longer, before pointing his wand at it.

"Silencio." After jabbing his wand at the fungus, Toby waited... and waited.

Of course, he could still hear squeaking, though that could easily be from his neighbours' toadstools, right? Right.

Sooooooooo, Toby leaned right in again, got up close and personal with his Talking Toadstool, his ear as far into the pot as it would go, eyes all squinted as he strained to differentiate any sounds it might be making from noises from the toadstools around him.

He stayed like that for a minute or so, probably looking a little ridiculous but not caring all that much, before he decided that YEP, this toadstool had been properly Silencio'd. First try, too. Nice.

So they revived their toadstools...just to shut them up again? Poor little guys barely got a breath of fresh air in them, and they were already knocking them back down again. The professor went on to clarify what they were doing, though, and it all began to make sense. Apparently, the toadstools didn't like to hear each other. Heh. Anti-social little things.

Kate guessed now was as good a time as any to get started. She doubted they had much time left anyway. "Silencio," she said aloud. "Si-len-see-oh. Silencio." After she was sure of the incantation, she jab forward with her wand. Well, that was easy. "Silencio," Kate said again, just for good measure. Alright, now time to put things altogether.

Sorry, little toadstool.

Angel looked at the Professor, so they had made the toadstool better and now things were going weird now because they had to shut them up again. "Si-len-see-oh!! Si-len-see-oh!! Si-len-see-oh!!" Angel started to practice the spell, she had done it before but it was worth practicing it again.

Angel was totally enjoyed Herbology but things were going really strange why hadn't they done this before now. "Si-len-see-oh!! Si-len-see-oh!" Angel was sure she was getting this down and so she knew that the next thing was to make things good and actually put the saying and the wand movement together.

All that was left now was to take the potted toadstool through to Greenhouse Two. Toby was just picking up the pot to go ahead and do that when he caught sight of a few students nearby putting those sticky labels on their own. Oh yeah... how was Professor Millard going to know whose work was whose without that? Toby's brain was a little slow today, okay?

He set the pot carefully back down and retrieved himself a label. He wrote out his full name on the tag this time (as well as a little extra info just in case, though they'd not been told to do so), before peeling off the backing and carefully applying it to the plant pot.

After allowing himself a little smile at how that looked, Toby picked up the pot again and carried it carefully through to Greenhouse Two, placing it with the others on the main desk in a place as close to the middle as he could get it, where it was certain not to get accidentally knocked over or anything.

Then Toby returned to the main lesson area, brushing off his gloved hands of any excess soil before removing the gloves themselves, and reclaimed his space at the big table.

”Thank you,” Brooklyn said quietly, as Professor Millard spoke again, over all the squeaky noise the class full of cured toadstools. It was giving her a headache, yet she still managed to listen to the instructions for the new activity. She’d just have to hope the soon-to-be lack of noise would make her headache go away, or she’d have to go see her head of house later. She doubted hexing her toadstool would have gone over well, anyway. Silencing it was better, especially since that was what they were supposed to do in the first place.

“Silencio,” she said quietly, glaring as her toadstool added a quick and squeaky echo. At least it didn’t have a wand. Therefore, she still had the power in the situation. She experimentally jabbed her wand at the toadstool a few times just to see if it would flinch before practicing the incantation more, too. Ha. Take that annoying toadstool. “Si-len-see-oh. Silencio, silencio, silencio.”

Another glare at the toadstool. She really didn’t need an echo.

Paloma had looked around, and then back at her notes. She had actually missed seeing the number of drops she had to give the poor Toadstool from her list? HMPH. With the dropper, she counted three drops, quite in a whisper and in Spanish to the Toadstool, gave a grin as it began to heal those wrinkles and dry spots, then whispered a "Hello..." to it. Not a real response, except sort of a moan. Had she done something wrong?

"You're a star...go shine." She talked to it, with a little louder voice and well, it talked back to her. Paloma blinked...and she took a second for her to realize that it was the toadstool talking. Alright, "Okay, you gotta get some Vitamin D now." She whispered, hearing a few whispers from the Toadstool again, making her giggle as she took the pot to a sunny spot, ready for the...

And that is when Professor M spoke, telling them the next instructions. They now had to silence them. Sigh. "So, you don't like other's comments, do ya?" She talked to the Toadstool and raised her eyebrow, well...it won't hear them again, nor would tell anything to the others.

With all due tongue and voice, she repeated "Silencio...Silencio...Silencio..." A few more than five times than that. For her, it sounded a bit too much like Spanish, too, but maybe she needed to French it up a bit. "Silencio..." Again, though using her poor accent there, but kinda nailed the pronounciation like the Professor did.

He needed to focus and get this spellwork done. Thankfully as more and more students had managed it on their own talking toadstools, it was becoming gradually less and less chaotic in the greenhouse. Which made it quieter, which should make it easier to concentrate on the charm. One...two...three... "Silencio!" he tried when he was ready, pausing in place as he awaited silently to see if it worked.

Was that silence he heard?

Benny let out a breathe he hadn't even been aware he had been holding. Finally it had worked! Peace...for the most part. Moving to retrieve a tag, the Gryffindor proceeded to fill it out before sticking it on the pot of his toadstool.

With label securely affixed, he gingerly lifted the pot and plant up off the work table and looked around to spot where the others had placed theirs. It wasn't hard to notice and he followed a fellow student and placed his charge there to be further watched after as per instructed. Ben then returned to his spot to await anything that was to follow.

She had a pot and she had some soil. All she needed to do now was the combine the two. AJ pushed both of her gloves up just to make sure they were on snugly even though there wasn't any danger with the wimpy toadstools.

Taking the soil she added just the right amount and grabbed a sickly looking toadstool. She gently placed it in the soil and grabbed her wand. "Aguamenti." Thankfully the spell didn't give her any problems. Thank goodness for small miracles.

Next, she added the mooncalf solution. Drip, drip, drip. "Talk to me. C'mon, you can do it." Please let this work. Before long the toadstool was looking better and imitating her. YES! Man, it felt good to get it right.

A spell. Agatha should've seen this coming.

She liked this professor, though, and surely he could teach her properly. She stared hard at him, paying close attention to every word he said and the way he pronounced the incantation. Silencio. Yes, she'd seen her mother using that spell many times on her.

"Silencio." The Slytherin said out loud immediately after professor Millard finished speaking. Oh! That was it!! And a jab wand motion. But most importantly: "Silencio!"

HAH! That was IT!!! Morgana, professor Millard was the second best.

There was a spell to make things/people stop talking? SHUT UP! Heh. Did you see what she did there? This was one spell that could come to her advantage. She would need to make sure to have this one down pat. It could come in mighty handy. There were plenty of people that she would love to just cut off mid sentence. Like, her mom was she goes on her nagging sprees. Too bad there is a "no magic" rule at home. No fun.

Now to practice. Silencio. Simple enough. It was really close to silence, and she really didn't think that she needed to practice it, but she would for good measure.

"Silencio, silencio, silencio." Got it. It was time to shut some toadstools up. The wand movement was a jab, and why did she need to practice that? Because it was fun to jab. Jab, jab, jab. She was ready.

Bleu took a deep breath. She had heard this spell before but hadn't ever used it. She looked down at her little toadstool. It kept squeaking out 'cool' over and over again. It was really very annoying. She shook her head and focused. "Silencio. Si-LEN-see-oh." She said it carefully and quietly to herself. "Silencio. si-LEN-see-oh."

"CoOOOOooOOOOOOooOOoOOOoOOL! Silencio!"

Raising her left eybrow she looked down at her toadstool incredulously. "Really, little one?" She shook her head and sighed. "Silencio. si-LEN-see-oh." She said again. This was going to be very interesting.

Time to shut some toadstools up. AJ was all practiced up, and ready to show off her mad skills. Really, she just hoped it didn't take her forever to accomplish. She looked at her toadstool sitting all comfy in it's soil. What it was saying, she couldn't be sure because it was so loud in the greenhouse. Not that AJ minded noise, but it sucked that her toadstool wasn't really copying her, but copying all of the noise around her.

AJ gave the spell a go. "Silencio." JAB! The toadstool was still rambling on. Hmmm. She had said the spell correctly, and it was kind of hard to mess up a jab. So, what was going on?

"Silencio." This time she jabbed her wand even harder, but it still wasn't working. Why wasn't it working? Not to mention that she was actually starting to get headache from all the noise.

Norah made another pouty face at her silenced toadstool before moving to grab a tag. It was still cute, obviously, but not AS cute as it had been when it was saying things. Hmph.

in NON-curly handwriting because the mopiness had to spread to ALL the places if she was gonna be a real teenager, and stuck it to the front of her pot. Her pot with the toadstool she had to silence AFTER it had almost said her name. They were practically SOULMATES by then. Sigh. SIGH. So what was next? She had to put it somewhere? Abandon the ickle toady all alone? Man, this mopey thing was coming easier and easier. She smiled a little, because the teenager thing was WORKING, but then back to frowning because reasons. Poor toadstool. Poor Norah. Poor Norah and Toadstool who'd never get to be bestest friends and have slumber parties and play hang out.

"Silencio. si-LEN-see-oh." Bleu practiced saying it one more time. The wand movement was very basic, she knew she wouldnt have a problem with this.

"SIIIIIIIILEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENCCCCCCCCIOOOOOOO! COooooooooooooooooooOOOOOoooooLlllllllluhhhh!"

Oh...this little bugger was going to make her nuts. It was time to make this thing silent. Bleu picked up her wand, and took a deep breath. She had to say this properly or it could go terribly wrong. "Silencio!" She yelled, and with a swift jabbing motion of her wand the horrid screeching of the toadstool stopped. "Ha!" She was very satisfied. Though the thing looked really creepy now...wailing and moving about without a sound.

Okay now that the Toadstool was all properly silenced, there were just a few more things he had to do before he was finished here. One of those things being-erm- OH YEAH the name tag! Picking one up, he scribbled his name down as neatly as he could, even remembering to dot the 'i' in Adair.

Then, he scooped the flower pot up and walked it all the way over to Greenhouse 2. TADA! Herbology master right here, people. Make way. Finding a nice little patch of sun in a clearing, he set the potted plant down and gave it one last look over, before heading back to the original room.

Ahem. Now what? Were they done?

To clear things up, Paloma was dramatic. She liked to make things bigger than they were, though not to make a scene. So, she practiced the jab motion without casting the spell outloud and looked at the Toadstool. "Ready, little Ceta?" Yeah, she gave it a name, that acutally meant Toadstool in Spanish.

"Ceta...Ceta...Ceta..." The Toadstool replied, in that same tone of voice that Paloma had used seconds ago, and repeated it a few times til...

"Silencio!" She casted the spell, making the jab motion, though not really taking an effect on Ceta. "Come on, please. Be silent. Silencio..." She jabbed again, and finally, the Toadstool just moved it's weird mouth and no sound came out of it. Ah, peace.

Bleu quickly found a marker and write her name on the sticker that was provided for them.

She stuck the sticker on her pot, making sure it was completely secure. This little toadstool was her's...even if it was creepily silent wailing and moving about. So weird.

She carefully walked her pot over to greenhouse 2, making sure to not trip over anything or run into anything or anyone for that matter. Once she found a secure place for her pot, she went back to her work area and awaited further instruction.

Toadstool, Silenced.

It kept moving that little weird mouth.

It kept trying to talk.

Paloma shivered at the thought of being silenced, which she only was able to do during lessons and ballet. She kept a lot of things to herself in those moments. "Okay, so...time for you to go to the Greenhouse, next door, to get proper sun, and be nice to other toadstools." She found a pen in her purse and scribbled over a tag.

After putting the label on the pot, she waddled over to the Geenhouse two, looked for a nice spot around other Toadstools. Any more instructions? She thought as she walked back to Greenhouse One.
