Penelope loved being in the library. She would definitely come back later for books and to do homework, but right now she needed to find someone so she could calculate that person's Major Cycle theme numbers. Mr. Kit ridge was at the top of her mental list of people who she could interview and calculate his Major Cycle theme numbers for the assignment, and she knew just where to find him. Penelope approached the front desk of the library. "Hello, Mr. Kitridge! Can I calculate your Major Cycle theme numbers for arithmancy class? I'll need to know your date of birth." She didn't have long before she needed to be back in class.

With his nose stuck in big cardboard box filled with new books that had arrived in a shipment from Flourish and Blott's just minutes ago Leo didn't hear Penelope approach at first. When he raised his head for a piece of parchment to write on he was a little surprised to see her there. Smiling at her he said absent-mindedly "Hello Penelope. Of course, I'm always glad to help. My birthday is May 2nd 2047." He had registered that she was calculating something for arithmancy class but he had already forgotten what. His mind was on the new books.

Busying himself with fussing around with notebooks and quills, ink and muggle pens Leo waited for the mapping enthusiasts among the students to arrive as well as Maddox and Cece. He was eager to get the mapping kicked off so that they could all focus on something fun and light after the very tragic death.

Sipping on his coffee mug an hour or so after brekfast Leo leaned against the Front Desk counter pondering if anyone would highly object if he didn't allow them to map the Restricted Section of the library.

Another leg of the Cartographer's meeting! Obviously Adi was going to be there. The other meetings had been so awesome and and exciting so there was no way he was going to miss this one. He left his common room room and headed straight for the library as the notice in the common room had specified.

"Hello, Mr Kitridge!'' Adi was always pleased to see the man. "How are you?" And it looked like the Hufflepuff was early. There were no other students gathered there as yet. Oh well. He'd just keep the Librarian company.

It wasn't like Benny needed an excuse to head to the library. Especially not this term with all the studying that was going on. But he had seen the notice for the latest cartographer's meeting and made a note of the day and time to be there. Though the fifth year may have been a little curious after the last two happenings during the meetings so he was heading down to the library before the rush. But upon arriving at the mentioned front desk, it seemed like he wasn't the only one.

"Hello Mr. Kitridge," he greeted the librarian. The man who had been a big help in his arithmacy work. "Hey," he added with a smile for the benefit of his best friend, the other boy the only other student already there. "Great minds think alike eh?" They both appeared to be a bit anxious.

Well, she didn't know if anything could top exploring the chamber of secrets, but Evie wasn't bored of this cartographers club yet. She still had her notebook full of sketches with her as she walked into the library happily. Evie always enjoyed the smell of the library. It smelled like OLD BOOKS. It was cool.

"Hello, sir," she greeted the librarian cheerfully, "and... others," she added, moving her eyes from the Hufflepuff to the Gryffindor. Small group so far, she noticed. They seemed to be dwindling more each time. "Is that bald man coming?" she inquired of the librarian. What was his name again?

Sophie had not-so-subtly followed her dormmate to the meeting, but Evie hadn't seemed to realize she was being followed, which made it all the more funny to this Ravenclaw when she came to a halt next to Evie and looped their arms together super casually.

Evie also got a big, goofy grin, but soon enough, Soph was addressing Kitridge. "Hi, sir." And everyone else got smiles, but then her attention was back to Evie - in light of recent events, Sophie didn't want to let her best friends out of her sight, once she HAD them in her sights. Heh.

What time was it and what year were they in? It might not surprise you to know that the Charms Professor had been helping himself to a...cat nap of sorts, content on his fluffy cushion. He didn't even know HOW he woke up or why until a glance up at his clock told him he was late. For what? He didn't know at first but then it all hit him suddenly.

Mapping reading. He was helping with that, wasn't he?

Maddox suppressed the yawn that rose up, rubbing tiredly at his face as he entered the library. Where exactly where they meeting again? The man looked around a moment before spotting the small group by the front desk. Right, the memo had said something of the sort about that. Of course. Ahem.

"Didn't miss the party, did I?" He asked, settling in among them. Where was Cece? Perhaps they'd need to begin without her? Eh, he didn't know. He was here. His job until they doubled back to the Third Floor was done.

Was pillow withdrawal a thing?

It was time for another cartography club meeting and there was no way that Lux was going to miss it. The first two had proven to be quite the adventure, and the redhead was excited to see what would be in store for them this time.

Happy and full from a delicious meal, she skipped over to the front desk and was pleased to see that there was a small group of people. Good, she wasn't late. "Hello, Mr. Kitridge and everyone else!" Smiles all round and hopefully they would be starting soon because she was so ready as long as heights weren't involved. She wondered if the bald man would be joining them again because as far as she could remember he was a professional.

Leo was just about to pour himself a second cup of coffee by the time that Adi arrived for the cartographers meet. Smiling at the senior badger Mr Kitridge said. "Good morning Adi. I’m fine, how are you? Eager to do more mapping?"

]Next student to arrive was Adi’s best buddy Benny. Flashing the lion boy a smile Leo said "Good morning Benny, this is exciting right? Have you got your own notepad with you or do you need a new one?" he had brought enough notepads, quills and inks for an entire class.

"Good morning Evangeline." Leo greeted cheerily. "You seem to be in a good mood today?" It was nice to see that one of his eagles had taken a liking to this unconventional cartographers club. "Bald man," Leo repeated. "Oh, you mean Mr Kenting? Yes I believe he will make an appearance. Hasn't he done that during all your other floor explorations?"

The brunette eagle student who came up to the Front Desk and halted next to Evangeline was a pleasant sight. Beaming Leo said "Hello Sophie, how are you?" For some reason Sophie's presence always made him happier. She just brought along happiness.

Leo was relieved at the sight of Maddox coming up to join them by the front desk. "Good Morning, Professor Quigley." Leo greeted. Holding up his cup of black coffee he asked "Would you like a cup of coffee?" Shaking his head he commented. "No, you haven’t missed anything. We were just about to get started. Shall we move to the third floor and split up there in groups?" If they went the first then maybe Cece would join them.

Leo was about to clear his throat to start the meeting when a badger girl with red hair and spring in her step skipped over to the front desk to join them. Smiling he said "Good morning Lux. Did you see if anyone else were making their way over here that we should wait for?" They could wait an extra 5 minutes for potential stragglers.

Not even thirty seconds after she had stopped at the desk, Evie's arm was taken by someone. Someone named Sophie. Evie grinned at the sight of her friend and looped her arm with hers. "Where did you come from?" She hadn't even seen or heard her come in. Sneaky little hobbitses Sophie.

Evie gave the librarian a bright smile. She WAS in a good mood today and she questioned his question of why he seemed that was. "Is that a surprise?" she inquired curiously. Evie quite enjoyed their little expeditions around the castle, so yes, she was in a good mood. Plus, Sophie was joining this time. Friends always made things better.

Oh, yes, Kenting was his name. Evie shrugged. She was pretty sure he had been to all of them. "I was just curious."

Where did she come from? Heheheh. Sophie hugged Evie's arm and gave an innocent shrug as she responded quietly, a hint of amusement in her voice, "I might've followed you the whole way from the dorm. Maybe. I almost ran and jumped on your back at one point, but I didn't wanna scare you," especially since everyone was sort of shaken up and on edge by the whole Gregoire thing, "so I just kept my distance and acted as your guardian angel instead. If something bad had happened, I would've had your back in an instant. Saved your life. Been a hero." Hehehehehehe.

"M'glad I didn't have to be, though. Wanna be buddies?" If they needed buddies for their mapping adventures today. Even if they didn't, Sophie wasn't going to leave Evie's side anyway, so... everyone else would have to deal with that.

At Kitridge's greeting, Sophie smiled and offered up a shrug to him as well. "Fair," she replied, sounding much more cheerful than she actually was, and brushed her hair over one shoulder with her fingers. "'cited for today's adventures 'n discoveries, as always, sir, thank you for asking. How are you?"

Upon Quigley's entrance, the Ravenclaw griiiiinned and waved a hand at the professor. Hi, Cat Man. Hi. She noticed that he didn't seem to be with them by choice today - he looked quite less than enthusiastic - and decided she wanted to be with HIM. She and Evie would cheer him right up.

Blink.

Did the Hufflepuff just....had she really...

Maddox stared at Miss Carrington for a moment but the smiles going around told him she was either not as sharp as she could have been or simply rude. Either, way, "I'm not everyone else and trust even you know it's impolite to greet a Professor in such a manner." Kitridge and everyone else. Merlin he should have stayed in his office if he was going to just be everyone else. Students these days.

"Coffee won't be of much help I'm afraid." He spoke with a small shake of his head and a rueful smile. The offer was a nice one but coffee wasn't never his beverage of choice and not even caffeine couldn't get him excited for this, not when the nap had been such a nice one (weren't they all?).

Just about to get started sounded promising though. No waiting around. "I say we could split a little more even than that. I'll take half and cover the Third--Cece may join me then, I assume she's still down in the Hospital Wing--and you can have a set mapping this floor." To save on time as they had done in times before.

The grinning and waving could hardly go unnoticed. Merlin, such enthusiasm for mapping with this one or enthusiasm for him? Who knew? Students were weird. Maddox nodded toward her, offering a smile. He may not have been happy to be here but someone obviously was.


Maddox looked the small group over again, figuring how they would split it. In the end it would depend on them he supposed....

"Right then, let's get this show on the road. We'll have two teams for efficiency. One will stay on this floor and map with Mr. Kitridge and the other will head with me to the Third Floor." See if they couldn't get a decent tour of the Hospital Wing for their troubles among other places. He wouldn't try selling either group considering he didn't know the perks on either floor so he simple took a few steps away from the group indicating that he was ready to leave with whoever was coming.

Some were coming, yeah?

"I'm great! And yes, I am. These mapping exercises always lead to something exciting.'' Plus Adi was not totally suffering the effects of lack of proper sleep as yet so he was rearing to go. He had hardly replied to Mr Kitridge when Benny came along. "Hello. They do,'' he agreed though he thought his bestie had the better brain.

Adi greeted back the others who arrived including Lux and Maddox. Nope, no apples here for Professor Feline today. Okay, sooooo... two teams. "I think I'll stay on this floor,'' the Hufflepuff said cheerfully. The last time he had taken up Maddox's group but this time he figured he'd switch things up.

Yeah, considering that the last time that she went with Professor Quigley it had ended with her drenched in swamp water, she decided to go with Mr. Kitridge this time. Besides, she really hadn't seen much of this floor, since she was actively trying to avoid this place in preparation for all the time she would spend in here in May studying for her OWLS. You know, so she wouldn't get sick of it.

Anyway. Heather stayed put and let those who were leaving do so.

"No, it's not surprising at all. I'm glad that you are happy Evangeline." Leo said with a cheery glance over in the sixth year’s direction. It was nice to see someone in a good mood while he was currently fighting to find his. The death of a student he had encountered and talked to wasn’t something he could just forget or just come to terms with and move on from over night.

Turning to Sophie he responded with a smile. "I'm all right. I'll get cheerier as we get going with this exciting mapping expedition. I shall consult the books to see if any similar mapping expeditions have been done in Hogwarts history after we break for the day."

Picking up a muggle pen and note pad from the counter he finished off the last of his coffee. Leo was ready to get this mapping expedition started.


Remembering the passage they had found in the Ravenclaw Common Room that had led to a shop in Hogsmeade Leo said in response to Adi. "I agree these mapping exercises have proved to be quite thrilling and exciting and hopefully this one will be no different."

It was nice to hear that Adi was joining his group.

It seemed that the lioness who had quietly joined up while they had been talking was intending to stay in his group too. Flashing a smile in her direction he asked "What's your name dear?" They had probably met in the library or in the castle going up and down the stairs but Leo couldn’t place her face or remember her name.

Maddox plan seemed to be a reasonable one which Leo could jump on. He could leave a note on the front desk and any late student’s could join up with either group. Agreeing Leo said "All right, it sounds good. And I think you are right, Cece is probably still held up in the Hospital wing. She can give you all a grand tour of the hospital wing. That should be exciting! Come find us when you are done mapping the third floor." There was also the interesting humpbacked witch statue and the armour gallery among other places to tour.

Watching as Maddox started to step away toward the door Leo said with a cheery smile in each student's direction as he ordered. "Let's get going everyone; those who want to be in my group shall follow me to the Stained Glass Windows where we shall begin our mapping tour of the library. Just beware of wombat droppings on the floor in that section of the library. Those who want to follow Professor Quigley shall go with him to the third floor."

Late? Nooooooooo.

Well. Maybe just a tad. But Toby was here NOW, just in time to for the groups to split off into two, which was good. A few minutes later and he might have missed that entirely and lost the whole group. He oh-so-casually strolled up to the main group, and side-stepped along with Cat Man Q to show he was going to be in his group.

Shame he'd not known the Charms professor would be here; might have brought an apple along.

"Hi sir," the Hufflepuff said with a nod to him, and then at the Librarian before their group disappeared. "Got my notebook all ready to go." He lifted it up now, his now battered notebook with the grey cover, which had so many pages used up given how many times Toby managed to screwed up sketching out any of the places he visited. Quigley was so fortunate to have him in his group.

Third floor then? Let's do this.

Ah there was another staffer to join their little party.

It seemed Professor Quigley had returned for the latest installment of the Cartographer's Club. Benny did have to look quizzically at his watch though at the man's question. Nope...not late and missing anything in his opinion. "Hello Professor," the fifth year Gryffindor greeted before noticing Lux come up shortly behind him. And hearing the librarian respond back to his earlier greeting with a question of his own.

"Yes...it is," he said, admitting to the excitement...somewhat. First the flood...then the Chamber of Secrets. It made you wonder what was next on the agenda for their little group."Have it here," Benny added, slipping his notebook from his robe pocket to assure the man he didn't need a new one. Best to keep everything they had been working on all in one place...right?

And they were starting.

Benny debated over the directions the two groups were going and about to give his decision when Adi spoke up with his. Great minds really did think alike. Or maybe it was because they both would probably prefer the library over the realm of a certain healer. The Gryffindor certainly didn't mind staying away from her. "Fourth floor it is," ready to move onto the Stained Glass Window area.

And any droppings they might find.

Sophie was VERY happy that Quigley seemed happy to see her, too, but how could he not be? Considering everything that had happened recently, everyone seemed to appreciate smiles and enthusiasm - little reminders that there were still things to be happy about and that positive attitudes were contagious.

The Ravenclaw tried to catch Toby's eye when he entered, but her best friend seemed to be trying to seamlessly blend in and pretend like he hadn't walked in at the last second. While the professors spoke, Soph didn't even have to think on the matter any further - she'd already made up her mind that she was going with Quigley, and as they started splitting into groups, she was pleased that Tobes wanted to be with the charms professor, too.

Perfect.

"Quigleeeeyyyyy," she encouraged Evie, giving a light tug on her dormmate's arm but ultimately letting go to hurry to join Quigley. She wasn't going to MAKE Evie join her if she really wanted to go with Kitridge, but she WANTED the girl's company, of course. Quigley AND two good friends? Yes. That sounded like the optimal situation to be in.

When she reached Quigley's area, she saluted him a bit playfully then gave Tobes an affectionate booty-bump. Hi, best friend. Hi. "Team AWESOME." That's what they were.

About to answer Mr. Kitridge's question, Lux stopped when Professor Quigley addressed her. Whoops. "Sorry, Professor. I'm just so excited to be here that I'm not paying a lot of attention to anything." It wasn't like she had done it on purpose or meant any disrespect, she just hadn't noticed him.

Teams were being formed now, and Lux decided that she would join Mr. Kitridge's group and spend some time in the library. Eagerly she headed off towards the stained glass windows with her team.

Someone who'd arrived later than himself, he could very much appreciate this and greeted the Hufflepuff with a small smile and a nod in acknowledgement of his greeting. Good kid this one, he was almost done deciding whether he liked him or not. "Brilliant, already more prepared than my last group." They'd had their books and such but no one had seemed to remember til he asked whether they'd been making notations or not.

Then they were joined by Miss Browne. Maddox would humour her with a salute for all the enthusiasm she was putting into this. Mapping was great fun, sure, but it was tiring work.

Uncertain how the undecided would split themselves, he made up his mind to head out. Those who wanted to follow could tag along.

"I believe we'll be hitting the Humpback Witch first depending on the corridor we take." Said casually as he headed for the door. Bloody thing used to give him the creeps.

Sweet, they had a Soph. That was always good, though maybe Toby was biased. He smiled at her, holding back a laugh at her overzealous and enthusiastic greeting. Anyways. ANYWAYS. They had work to do.

With his notebook in hand, flipping its pages and simulating a subtle sort of breeze against his face, Toby nodded at Quigley and followed him out of the room.

Ahh, the Humpbacked Witch statue. Lots of memories had been made there.

Ohhh, the STATUE. That was a good starting place, and Sophie gave ANOTHER salute. "Sir, yes, sir." WOOP. GO TEAM.

Tobes got a bigger smile in response to his own, then followed suit of him and pulled her notebook and a writing utensil from the bag over her shoulder. She stole one last glance at Evie, who she extended a grabby hand to in hopes to encourage her to join TEAM AWESOME, but then the group was leaving, so Soph followed Quigley and Tobes out of the library.

Evieeeeeee.

Hady had just barely arrived on time for the meeting having had a lot on her mind lately. However she had gotten there just before everyone began talking and such only she had been off to the side and probably not seen.

When it was time to break off into groups again she gripped her journal and pencil tightly in her hand as she rose to her feet. Not sure where to go or whom to go with she made the quick decision to stay with Professor Quigley's team. Without so much as a sound the brunette slowly made her way over to where the others were joining the group and getting ready to go to the statue of the humpback witch.

Hady was ready to get exploring and started on some more sketching! Where they heading out now?

Okay, so she may have not realized that not all the staff knew who all the students were. Oops? "Heather Xanthopoulos, sir," she answered the librarian, following the group out towards the stained glass windows. And at the mention of wombat droppings, she was glad that she had continued her tradition of wearing her rain boots to club meetings. Because apparently, one never knew what they would meet in the castle.
