Upon entering the Charms Classroom, you find the desks neatly arranged as they usually are at the start of a lesson with rows evenly spaced and providing access should the Professor be forced to walk around.
Due to the rare presence of a brilliant morning sunshine at this time of year, the windows have been thrown open letting in the bright light and crisp winter morning air though it doesn't get too far thanks to the heating charms in place. There isn't much to be seen at the moment with the chalkboard blank and the Professor's desk looking organized...except maybe the cages placed on each student's desk.
The bars aren't very thick or secure looking, leaving one to only hope this lesson won't get anyone killed.
To the front of the room, the Professor stands leaned against his desk waiting for the students' arrival with his head buried in a book; an obvious tactic to ignore the other Professor in the room, you know, the one that couldn't keep her mouth shut about his Transfiguration Dilemma.
Be sure you read the rules before posting in this lesson. We'll be officially starting in maybe 10-12 hrs?
And the rules here because Professor Bellaire will eat you.
Angel looked at the rock and sighed, well now it was time to try the spell and hope the dragon wasn't that bad, she picture the smallest and cutest dragon she could think of, she didn't want something out of control or weird on her desks, this was going to be very interesting.
Angel grabbed her wand and then concentrated really hard, trying to picture the rock turning into a dragon. Angel now had to concentrate hard on the incantation "Draconifers!" Angel smiled as she did the left to right slash wand movement but nothing happened, this was not what she had expected, she was expecting something to happen but the stupid rock was still the same, nothing happened, seriously she didn't know if she was happy or not in some ways she was glad the rock was still a rock but it seemed she had failed at this spell the first time she tried and she didn't like failing. She decided to compose herself and try again.

They were going to get to make their own dragons! Janelle could hardly wait. She found dragons fascinating.......scary, but fascinating. Maybe if they created their own and did it correctly, they wouldn't be scary. Well anyway, Janelle was excited to try. She copied down he spell so she could be sure to get all the parts right.
Janelle went up to the box and got a rock that would hopefully become her dragon. She returned to her seat and placed her rock on the desk. This was going to take a lot of concentration and she was going to have to use her imagination.
First though, Janelle had to practice the spell. Looking at her notes, she repeated the incantation. "Dra-con-i-fors, Dra-con-i-fors, Draconifors.". Then she took out her wand and practiced the movements. Holding the wand tightly, Janelle made a slashing movement from left to right. She practiced it a few more times until the movement began to feel more natural. Now it was time to get started.

They were going to use the tiny cages to put wizard-made rock dragons in? Even though that thought was perhaps one of the strangest things Ezra has ever heard, it seemed appropriate in a joint transfiguration and charms lesson.
What if someone were to accidentally get their mini dragon to start a commotion and create an angry horde of rock dragons to attack the bad kids and maybe Professor Bellaire? He tired to catch Kyroh's eye or maybe Dima, Dot, or another third year because they were the coolest and could probably pull it off. Zeke was closest but he was nervous to say it out loud in case he was heard.
But before the horde could be released, he needed to make his dragon. The little Gryffindor went to retreave a rock the size of the Professor's apple and then came back to his desk. He envisioned a bright, emerald green Welsh Green dragon as he reread the incantation on the board. "Dra-con-ifers." He said trying to make the slash with his wand at the rock. Nothing happened.
Bleh maybe he was imagining too much of a huge cloud of baby dragons flying amuk rather than the actual physical being of his particular dragon.

Her rock was still a rock and he was getting frustrated. AJ was not the patient type. She wanted results and she wanted them now. There were some people around her that were actually already having success with their dragons. Adi was one of those people. Of course he was. She thought back to the times that he would pretend he was bad only to motivate her. PFFT.
With her mind focused on making her red dragon, she looked at her rock. "Draconifors." Slash. Maybe that was the problem. Her last few attempts were more of a swish than a slash, and those things mattered. Buuuut, she she still wasn't having any luck so far.
"Draconifors." More of the same. She was NOT going to be the only one without a dragon. This was going to work one way or the other. It just had to.
For serious now, get it together Earnest. It's dragon time!
Staring hard at the rock, Ezra really imagined the Welsh Green dragon sitting there on his desk where the rock was padding around on its scaley feet and opening its skin-clad wings. The sharp teeth clash together but make a small noise because of his minuscule size.
'Draconifer.' He thought to himself. Welsh Green. 'Draconifer.' Welsh Green.
Raising his wand this time the third year made the slashing motion from left to right and said the incantation, "Draconifer!" the rock turned bright green for a second and a tiny, reptilian form appeared as the rock melted from solid stone.
"I did it, I created dragon." Ezra beamed as he said it in a deep voice and banged a fist on his chest, like a caveman.

IT DID NOT WORK
SERIOUSLY??
Bianca couldn't help but glare at the rock. What on earth was wrong? She did visualize the dragon, yet the incantation and the wand movement was not wrong too. She could not fail again! Seriously. If she failed again, she didn't know what to do on her upcoming NEWTs
Okay, maybe that was a little bit exaggerating,
Okay, More focus Bianca Rush!
She kept picturing the dragon, the Antipodean Opaleye one. Thinking, focusing... Okay, let's try it again.
"Draconifors!" She pronounced the incantation loudly and clearly while she made a slash movement with her wand. Okay... Was it work?

Now that he had basically created life, the world's greatest wizard would have to get the dragon in the cage. Shouldn't be too hard really.
"Go. Get in the cage boy--" it was a boy, right? "Do we have to check if it's a boy or a girl?" Ezra asked the professors both with his hand raised.
While he was making his inquiry about dragon gender the mini Welsh Green snapped at his finger causing him to jump. "Hey you." The Gryffindor scowled at it for a minute before opening the cage and poking the little thing in there. Done.

Bianca couldn't help but closed her eyes when she'd cast the draconifors spell. She just hoped that this time the spell would work. If she failed again, somehow she questioned her ability since she's already in SEVENTH year and WOULD face the NEWTs.
As the brunette girl opened her eyes, she noticed that the stone in front of her had transformed into a palm-size Antipodean Opaleye dragon. Wait... it did mean that she did it, right? YES! SHE DID IT! She carefully pet the dragon and hoped that it didn't attack her with its fire breath. "Hi... Hello..." Okay, now time to put it to the cage. Putting the dragon at her palm, Bianca carefully put it into the cage. Okay, don't go anywhere tiny dragon!

Angel was getting totally frustrated at the fact this just didn't seem to be her day, she would try and figure something out to make this happen and now she had a few things to do to make that happen. "Draconifors!" Angel did the incantation a few times. ""Draconifors!"" Angel did the incantation a second time, then she smiled as she realised that was right, she did the wand movement again making sure it was perfect.
Angel closed her eyes and concentrated, she really wanted this to work this time but she would have to wait and see. "Draconifors!" Angel did the wand movement, making sure she concentrated really hard and the stone changed a bit but it still wasn't a dragon, what did she have to do to make this stupid stone a dragon, she was getting really annoyed with herself.
Amur took a deep breath in and narrowed her eyes, trying to limit her field of vision so that she wouldn't get distracted by all the other cute little dragons. She focussed and focusssed, until she could almost see the body and head of the Norwegian Ridgeback overlaid over the rock. She brought her wand up, steeled herself and made the motion.
"Draconifors!"
There was a moment where there was nothing. Not a spark not a wind, nothing. Amur was starting to wonder if she had cast the spell at all, when the rock dropped onto it's back, wobbled unsteadily before extending and narrowing, becoming more and more detailed before her eyes. Amur watched in amazement as the headless-stone grew a head, and the body of the Norwegian Ridgeback formed properly.
Why hadn't she kept her eyes open before? This was sooooo neat to see!
Once the last little scale was in place, Rocky stopped wobbling and rolled over onto his feet. His long neck swiveled about seamlessly. It went under his wings, around his back and even under his belly as if to make sure that everything was attached as it should be, where it should be. Once the self-inspection was done, the little black, beady eyes returned to Amur. It's tail swished from side to side on a measured rhythm.
Amur could stop grinning. "Hi. Oh you look much better with a head." Although, the headless rock form had been pretty cute too.
Extending her index finger, Amur gently scratched the dragon on the head. It tolerated the affection only for a moment, before retracting its head. It looked about at all the other dragons before picking itself up and walking purposefully into the cage. Turning about on the center of the flooring, it plopped down into a sitting position, back to her and tail neatly wrapped around it's form.
She swore that if it had the means, it would have pulled the door closed behind it. Amur frowned at the creature. Finicky thing that it was. Sure, she wouldn't have been pleased herself if she had gone without a head for so long, but she had fixed that. Sighs.
Closing the door behind the dragon and latching the lock in place, Amur rested her arms on her desk and her chin on her arms. The dragon reminded her of Felix, one of the barn cats that liked to turn it's tail up at her every single time it saw her. That decided it. The dragon's name would be Rocky Felix.

Cutty watched as Bellaire demonstrated the spellwork and committed the movement to memory. He watched as the rocky surface o the stone gradually, yet quickly, became the smooth but textured scaley surface of the dragon's skin. This, he thought, could be useful. If yer wanted to freak out the odd first year or get them to hail you as their god or whatever. Army of small ones. Lord of the flies.
He'd made sure to chose a rock that already possessed what he thought of as dragony characteristics to make it easy to envision the thing.
"Draconifors." He spoke the incantation outloud and slashed his wand left to right at nothing in particular. "Draconifors." He repeated this action.
Aproaching the rock, Cutty made the slashing motion from left to right at the hard thing. "Draconifors." The body of the rock slowly started to resemble the slender stretched out body of a Chinese Fireball.

With her rock in front of her, Janelle closed her eyes and concentrated. She tried to get focused and visualize her rock turning into her dragon. She pictured the dragon obediently awaiting her instructions because of course he was well behaved. She was going for a Common Welsh Green because that was the dragon she knew the most about. The Professor had said that intent was very important, so Janelle was trying to picture every little detail.
Opening her eyes, Janelle felt that she was ready to give it a go. She pointed her wand at the rock and made a left to right slashing movement. "Draconifors", she said enthusiastically. Annnnd nothing happened. Disappointed, but not defeated, Janelle prepared to try again. She knew she could do this and would do this. She had to have her dragon. She just had to.
One more time, Janelle began to concentrate. She didn't think that it was possible to focus harder than she had before, but she did. She reallllly wanted a dragon and she was going to make it happen. This time, she kept her eyes open, but still visualized the green dragon in front of her. Once more, Janelle made a slash with her wand going left to right. "Draconifors, she said, this time more powerfully. Amazingly it worked. There was a little Welsh Green where the rock had been moments before. Janelle refrained from squeeling with with the glee she felt. She didn't want to frighten her dragon. Now if she could only get him into the cage.

Toby looked at the rock that sat there on his desk, doing nothing as all rocks did (or... didn't do). He twirled his wand habitually between his fingers before holding it properly and aiming back at the rock.
"Draconifors," he said, slashing his wand from left to right and trying to picture an Antipodean Opaleye as he did so. But... nothing. Not bright lights, no colours, no change in the rock. It just sat there, still very much a rock, as Toby went on looking at it. Waiting, though clearly nothing would happen now.
So... he definitely needed to work on the focus and intent thing. Toby knew that he needed to be able to really picture something to be able to reach the right outcome in Transfiguration. And that meant focus. And that was something Toby usually had trouble with. Today felt even worse.
He stopped and stared at the rock for a little while, trying his best to imagine it morphing into the colourful Antipodean Opaleye he liked to look at in his Care of Magical Creatures textbook. For a while he sat there, staring at the rock so fixedly that if the intensity of his gaze alone would transform it then it would likely be a legitimate full-size dragon. But of course, that was not the case.

The rock that Cutty'd be working his magic on, however much it resembled a dragon did not move. Did not, in fact, even take on any colour. It seemed only a stone carving of the real thing...in miniature.
He looked to his side and saw Bev's progress. Was she going to explode? Breathe, Bev, breeeathe.
Starting over. Right. He used his wand to undo his first attempt. "Reparifarge." And started anew. He pictured the creature curled up in a sleeping ball and imagined the best friend points he could garner with it as well as the chaos he could wreak setting one of them loose. Good times were ahead if he could manage it. "Draconifors." He slashed his sword-like instrument again from the left to the right. It was, as Professor Bellaire had said all about the intent and the will.
The curled up and twisted body of the magical Asian dragon began to writhe and take on an almost unreal vibrancy of colour and it's long torso began slithering in a manner that made it appear that sections of it were moving independently of one another. Like a flock of birds flying together and yet in random direction or like people beneath a fabric dragons body and moving it along a parade route.

Alright....that's why they call it practice. He wasn't going to get it the first time. It hadn't happened that way with the little fishy that he had made with Zeke and it wasn't happening now...obviously. Benny knew he just had to keep trying and trying he would be doing. He was going to get this spell right if he had to try all day, which he doubted he did the permission to do so, at least in the classroom. But still.
Must...not...steal...Adi's.
It would be the perfect chance since he was with AJ teasing his girlfriend who was having the same trouble as he was. The Hufflepuff wouldn't notice and technically did promise him a dragon.
NO!! Must...make...own.
"Draconifers!" he cast once more, with the proper slash at the stone. But again it remained a stone. Benny took a deep breath and stared at the stone. Come on...come on."Draconifers!!" he tried again not waiting long after the previous time. He would have deemed it another failure but the stone on his desk reacted this tim. Soon enough he had a textbook-size green dragon on his desk leaving him in complete awe for a few minutes as it tested its legs out on the wooden surface.
Angel was not happy, Benny had done his, this was not cool... could she steal it. "Draconifers!" Angel did the proper slash movement but alas nothing happened again, this was not cool. She was totally going to throw this wand somewhere if this stupid spell didn't work.
*breath*
Angel was trying her hardest not to lose it, she didn't want to lose points, she tried to count to 10 but it wasn't helping that much, looking at the stone she sighed seriously who's idea was this class anyway.
"Draconifers!!" Angel was that annoyed she totally forgot to do the wand movement this time and just stood at her desk staring at the stone, nothing... zero... nill.. what did she have to do, could she please pinch Benny's dragon, he wouldn't mind right.

Janelle had a plan and it had better work. She opened her cage so it would be all ready. Then she directed her attention to her dragon. "Hi there little dragon. I guess I'm your mama. I'm going to take very good care of you, but I need you to do something for me. You have to go into this cage because if you don't, they won't let me keep you and that would make me very sad.". Of course Janelle had just met her dragon, but he was so cute. How could she not get attached?
Janelle looked pleadingly at the dragon and pointed to the open cage. "How about you go inside and make yourself at home. I think you'll like it.". It had to be better than living your life as a rock in a box, right? Janelle continued to talk persuasively to the dragon. He wasn't being uncooperative, but he didn't seem in any hurry to visit the cage. Janelle peeked over her left shoulder and then her right. She didn't want either of the Professors to get any ideas.
Persuading didn't seem to be working so Janelle switched to begging. "Please dragon. Please come and get inside the cage. Don't you want to be my friend?" The dragon began to move slowly and Janelle held her breath. Was he going to do it? Please, please, please.

The Chinese Fireball began to travel along the surface of Cutty's desk. It's once balled up rock body now more serpentine and agile.
"Oi! Where'dyer think yer goin'? Get back oveh here." Cutty skooted the slender body of his tiny Fireball stopping it's cascading locomotion. The little dragon turned and looked at the Sltherin boy. "Right then into yer cage with yew." Using his wand as a sort of small stick, Cutty tiny!shepherded the tiny dragon into it's cage where it coiled up with a wild sort of look in its' eye.
Cutty latched the cage closed and leaned onto the desk peering in at the dragon he'd made. The dragon itself rested it's chin over it's coils and returned the gesture. It was a stare down.
Angel looked around and realised that nearly everyone had already got a mini dragon, was she that much of a failure, she looked down at her desk and then decided that she would try again, so she decided to take a couple of deep breaths and then she got back to work.
""Draconifors!" Angel looked down at her wand, oh yeah she had to do the wand movement as well, she giggled as she remembered that bit, seriously how had she forgot about that, maybe she shouldn't try this when she was of age, it might go horribly wrong.
Angel pictured the dragon in her head and made sure she concentrated really hard. ""Draconifors!" Angel pointed her wand at the rock and then she did the correct slash movement and smiled as the rock started to change in front of her, it was becoming a welsh green dragon... that was the easiest one to control right, well she hoped so.
"Come on dragon, please come into the cage." Angel had opened the door, she thought that being nice to a dragon would work and it seemed to be as it went towards the cage. She beamed this was awesome and so amazing.

The excitement over a bloomin’ Dragon.
Layla was straight-faced the entire activity. She had nothing particularly against the creatures, she just wasn’t as excited about seeing one as the whole of the student population appeared to be. In fact, Layla wasn’t really that bothered by the whole mysterious magical creatures thing anyway. She wasn’t the biggest animal lover, she had a cat called Dinah and her brother had one too growing up but she had never been the cuddly squeeing over baby animals time.
As the rest of the class had seemingly progressed and Layla was too busy frowning at the desk she considered that perhaps it was time to move on. Her stone was laid in front of her and she tilted her head momentarily at it as she prepared to perform the required spell.
“Draconifor” she spoke whilst simultaneously slashing her wand from left to right. She still spoke in her accent but it was much clearer than usual. She had pictured a small dragon in her head, one she had seen within a textbook but whose name she was unsure of. To her relief the same dragon formed in front of her very eyes and she allowed herself to smile for a fraction of a second before it disappeared in preparation for her next task.

Benny was more then a little relieved that he had been successful this time around. His excitement had returned and the fifth year tentatively reached a hand out and slowly moved it near the transfigured creature. At first the small Welsh Green backed away its snout inched back closer. "Hi there..." he said, his voice a little stronger this time, beginning to realize what had happened and he wasn't going to scare the poor creature.
As if to show he wouldn't scare it, the stone dragon nearly pounced on his now outstretched hand causing him to chuckle. He lowered his hand to the top of his desk and his new change proceeded to investigate its surroundings including the boy's palm. Ben fought the urge to laugh as the small paws moved across his skin. It seemed the creature liked him or at least was friendly and not worrisome like he had been that he wouldn't be successful.
Now he was supposed to get it into the cage. Relatively easy enough he supposed given he had already managed to get the dragon in his grasp with no real trouble on his part once he created it. But did he want to?

Oh yeah, getting a dragon into a cage. Because that was such an easy task wasn’t it? No instructions on how to do it then? Just taunt it? Encourage it? Layla was no expert when it came to the creatures.
She sighed and stared at the fire-breathing creature for a few seconds before deciding it was probably time to move on. “I can’t believe I’m talkin’ to you, somethin’ that won’t be able to talk back” First sign of losing your mind, wasn’t it? “But please cooperate and get in that cage for me so this lesson can move on?” The dragon merely blinked at her. She frowned.
“Y’know.. Now” Were dragons the same as children, did she need to be firm with them? She stood in front of the cage and stared at it until he started coming towards her. It slipped into the cage and she wrinkled the bridge of her nose. “Thank you.” She shut the cage door behind her and headed back towards her desk.

Adi watched the Opaleye for some moments before looking around at AJ. Transfiguration wasn't one of her best subjects...yet. So she usually needed some help. And it was no surprise when he saw that her rock was still a rock. He shuffled over to her.

Her own personal prefect was here which meant that she was about to have herself a dragon because he motivated her. Or it could go the totally opposite way and he could distract her because.... that hair and those eyes. No. She couldn't allow her mind to wander there.
Oh really, Rehman? One of her eyebrows raised as she looked at him. "Somebody thinks pretty highly of themselves." Truth be told her mind was on unicorns but now it was on Adi... all thanks to a certain hufflepuff prefect that made his way over to her. He was continuing to make jabs at her. AJ looked over at his dragon and snorted. It really was a nice dragon. "You can't beat me if we never declared it a race." But, yes, it was safe to say that he had beaten her.
Oh, she was totally concentrating now. There was no way she was going to have anymore failed attempts. "Draconifors." Slash. "Erm. I wasn't ready yet." Yeah, that was her story and she was sticking to it. AJ closed her eyes for a moment and thought about the breed she decided on and the pretties color red she could imagine. "Draconifors." SLASH!
She bit her bottom lip, and was amazed as sparks happened. Did this mean? "I did it." Right before her very eyes was the most beautiful red Regal Cooper dragon she ever did see. Maybe It looked like Adi's tauntings did the trick.

"Draconifors!!" she called out while making the slashing moment from left to right. Again nothing happened. Meh. This was a little depressing when she thought about the exams she was stressing over; Charms and Transfiguration were both important. She needed to get really good marks in these subjects. Time to try for the third time, and they did say that the third time's the charm.
After a few more deep breaths she felt that she was ready, the image of a Common Welsh Green perfectly in her mind. "Draconifors!!"
