When you've cracked the bronze knocker's riddle, which should be fairly easy on opening feast night, the door will swing open to reveal the entrance to the Ravenclaw Common Room. Coming inside you’ll see the floor-to-ceiling windows that span around the airy, wide, and circular room. A look through them shows a magnificent view of the school grounds and nearby mountain range. On a clear night you can see the stars and even the lights in Hogsmeade houses. The walls are covered in bronze and blue silk hangings, and the midnight blue carpet covering the floor is decorated with stars, just as the domed ceiling.
Placed on the center of the curved wall is a large fireplace with plenty of navy blue sofas and armchairs placed around it, as well as a few bookcases and tables. Today the tables are filled with a wide selection of sweets from Honeydukes, desserts, and refreshments like soda and juice and, if you couldn't get anything down at the feast, a meaty sandwich or two. A sound coming from the staircase leading up to the boys dormitories draws your attention to Mr Kitridge that is sitting on top of a giant pink matress with a wide-eyed looked about his face as the matress begins to pick up pace as it slide's down the stairs with a loud WHOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!
OOC: Welcome newbies, resortees, and returning eagles to a night of fun! Gather around Mr Kitridge and he’ll give you all matrasses to join in the fun. Both the boys and girl's staircases to the dorms have been enlongated and glissieod for the night. So come have FUN! The regular common room rp threads will open in about 2 days.
Cackles were happening as Peeves flew towards the mattresses. Ignoring the child that asked what he was, he should know who Peeves is. Everyone should know Peeves.
"It's rude not to invite Peeves to parties. Ravenclawies are smarter than that. Ravenclawies shouldn't be so snobby."
It was high time to liven this party up. Swooping down and picking up a mattress, Peeves flew it around the room, swooping down close to students and then back up to the ceiling.
"Who wants to learn how to fly? These are better than brooms. See when you fall it's a cushion as well."
He flew it back the other way across the room before letting it fall to the ground. That's when he heard another voice and more cackling left him.
"Take what off? I can't take this shirt off. I found it. Finders keepers, losers weepers."
Sticking out his tongue Peeves flew over towards the refreshments and picked up a soda. Shaking it he turned and opened it spraying the beverage over anyone that was near.

She was going to go sulk away towards her dorm when out of the corner of her eye she saw a mattress drop from the sky. She turned in the direction of the movement just in time to get a face full of soda. Spluttering and wiping the fizzy drink from her eyes she glared in the direction of whoever was careless enough to spray her. She still really couldn't see who did it, but from the shouts around her it was definitely a troublemaker and she wasn't the only target. Blinking blearily through the excess soda she spotted the poltergeist. "PEEVES!" she shouted, even though she knew screaming at him would only make it worse. She whipped her wand out but only turned it to her own clothes quickly saying the words to the hot air charm to dry herself off and hoping that getting sprayed with soda was a good enough reason to not get her in trouble for using magic outside of class.

Maddie really didn't know how to comfort Kyroh. All she could do was think of any and all comic books that involved bugs and how being one too might not be a bad thing. But then Kyroh WASN'T a bug, not even close. And his name wasn't bug-like either. His name was special because it was different and HE was different. She couldn't explain ANY of this, though. Instead she simply whispered, "I like your name best." Much more than her own. Now please smile, Freckles. This is meant to be a party. Granted, not a SHIRTLESS one but Kitridge was working on THAT part.
But LOOK, there was his shirt! Peeves had it and the brunette wrinkled her nose at the sight of him. He'd called them BABIES and sprinkled flour on their heads last time she'd seen him. NOT a fan of him, NOPE. Couldn't that lady doing the mattress surfing get RID of him somehow? Or maybe the key was to ignore him. He seemed to like getting a rise out of people so maybe if they didn't let him, he would go find some place else to haunt. Maybe.
Ducking the flying beverage as best she could, the twelve year old glanced at Kyroh and Penelope with wide eyes. "Don't give him the satisfaction of you weeping, okay?" This was to Kyroh. It'd only fuel his fire. Besides, didn't the finders keepers rule depend on where you found an item? Maybe Peeves had illegally seized it. Maybe Peeves hadn't followed the rules and he HAD to give it back. Maybe...she should volunteer to fly and pull the thing RIGHT off Peeves so Kyroh could be shirtless no more.
...Maybe she could convince Penelope to do that instead.

At least Peeves was kinda leaving them alone for now, so Finn made sure to take the opportunity to introduce Thornton to candy...and to kinda distinguish between a peeves and someone like the Grey Lady. "Well... Peeves is a poltergeist so he causes trouble and mischief around the school. The Grey Lady and most of the other ghosts are helpful and nice." Or so far in Finn's knowledge they had been more helpful than harmful.
Anyway, candy. Finn went over to the food table and glanced around it, looking for his all time favorite candy. "Aha!" He said at once grabbing two packages and handing one to Thornton to look at. "These are chocolate frogs. You may have heard about them on the train. It's really sweet and they even come with a card in each pack." He said grinning as he carefully opened his, preventing the chocolate treat from escaping. "Be careful though because the frog is charmed to be able to jump like a real frog... it's just chocolate though." Finn warned as he trapped his frog between two fingers and started to enjoy his treat, waiting to see how Thornton would do.

She was about to speak up when the poltergeist began to spray everyone in his vicinity with sugary drink. "Protego!" She shielded anyone right around her, but she clearly wasn't fast enough to get everyone.

Oh, she had gotten quite a bit of it all over. Feeling that her need was greatest at the moment, she rushed over to her. "It's Tora, right?" she asked as she began to siphon off the liquid from the girl's shirt. "There, good as new," Tiara announced. "Something needs to be done to teach that rascal a lesson. Any suggestions?" she asked, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes.

Last year, for the smallest amount of time Kyroh had wanted to be the next Peeves. But now it seemed like Peeves wanted to be the next Kyroh. His eyes flickered to Maddie and he grinned. She liked his name best AND Peeves wanted to be him, alright, cool, cool.
Ducking a few drops of the drink splashed onto the second year. Crossing his arms over his bare chest he shrugged. "I'm not going to weep." He WASN'T okay? The boy actually didn't care too much. At least NOW he knew what had happened to it. "Peeves can HAVE MY SHIRT." Kyroh said loudly. "I don't need it anyways. It's more fun without one." Which is totally was, but there was thing thing called reverse psychology, that he had heard about and why NOT use it in dire times when everyone could see your belly button?
His eyes fell on the Flying lady.
Was she gonna hit Peeves with a broom?

Chocolate frogs. That seemed a good place to start. He turned the package over in his hands, aware of the jumping, but having never attempted to have one before. As Finn began to enjoy his treat, Thornton considered his box.
Tenatively tearing at the edge, he tried to keep one hand completely over the opening that was being made. But once the opening was made, Thornton's hand slipped. Bumbling, Thornton dropped the box, but managed to trap the frog between his hands before it could jump away.
"Ok. Candy that takes a little effort," he said, smiling, before taking a bite. His eyes grew wide as he savored the chocolate. He'd been allowed only the tiniest bits over the years. Licking his fingers as he finished off the treat, he bent down to collect his card. "Alberic Grunnion?" Thornton made a face as he read the back of the card. "Inventing dungbombs gets you on a chocolate frog card?" He was.. unimpressed.
But the candy. OH THE CANDY.
Slipping the card in his pocket, he looked to Finn for some direction. MORE PLEASE?
"I think you SHOULD conjure him a shirt, Mr. Kitridge. I'd like to see how it's done AND then we can mattress surf." She was tired of floor sitting by this point, okay? Did Penelope and Freckles want to mattress surf too?
Glancing over at Maddie he laughed. "I might just do that if we don't find Kyroh's shirt soon." Leo had no problem with using magic but the whole shirt business was a bit suspect. How could you lose a shirt you had been wearing on the train?

Leo couldn't help but stare at Kyroh for a good solid minute before he repeated astounded. "You think you left your shirt on the train???" Just great. Perfect. "When you get up to your dorm please make sure you haven't left any other vital belongings on the train. If you have, then let me know. And I'll find them for you." If they could be found. Mr Flynn could possibly be of assistance.
Shaking his head he said to Kyroh. "I'll get you a new shirt in a minute."

"You should get matrass surfing before I call it a night." Leo insisted.

Attention shifted to Penelope who continued to question Kyroh about his missing shirt. Leo envisioned that she could become a good detective or magical law enforcement worker after graduating. That was a topic for a discussion another day. Leo was about to extract his wand and do what the majority wanted and give Kyroh a new shirt when a ghost HAPPENED!

Eyes narrowing Leo quickly grabbed for his wand and cast a shield charm around himself and the student’s closet. Addressing the ghost Leo said sternly. "Get out Peeves! You weren't invited to this party and should leave. We don't want you here." If Peeves didn’t leave then Leo wasn’t above getting the Baron’s assistance. He wasn’t going to allow the mischievous ghost to ruin their party.

Turning to Charlie last Leo said "Charlie please help Jun and Jasmine shield everyone else from Peeves antics. Hopefully we’ll get him to leave before he does some serious damage."

Leo didn’t have time to shout out any more orders or instructions to his eagles to take cover when Peeves started to fly around the room wearing Kyroh’s shirt and spraying soda on everyone. This was turning into a nightmare.

Nearing his colleague and fellow eagle supervisor Leo said "I'm glad to see you Tiara," he really was. "I agree we need to teach this poltergeist a lesson, any suggestions? Should we shoot spells at him or fetch the Baron even?" The last he said to Tiara as much as the student's presently trying to keep out of harm’s way.
Her attention back on the Head Boy she was hugging from behind like her life depended on it, Sophie just smiled and adjusted her position on his back so they were both more comfortable. "Hi Head Boy Mentor Jun. Thanks for not falling over." When she first jumped on his back, that was. She expected he could handle her surprise weight - he was a MANLY MAN - but she was relieved he hadn't toppled over all the same. Then, before she could gush over him being the best any further, they were MOVING TOWARD THE STAIRS and Sophie squeed with delight, holding onto Jun as they climbed upward.
"I WANNA BE IN FRONT." Wasn't that THE best placement on any ride? When she and Tobes sat front on Splash Mountain at Disney World, that had proved to be THEEEEEEEEEEEee best spot to be at. So. She was a big advocate for taking the front. But hopefully she and Jun weren't gonna get drenched with water when they hit the bottom like she had with Tobes. "But y'gotta hold on to me so I don't go flying off when we hit the bottom," she wagged a finger at him, grinning all the while as she got herself situated near the middle-front of the mattress.

Watching Sophie get all excited about this, Jun couldn't help but smile. She was one of the few younger years that he hadn't found annoying. Good thing Kitridge put them together for the mentor/mentee thing. Sitting right behind her, Jun wiggled a bit and made himself comfortable. "Alright, I'll be sure you don't go flying off," He laughed and set his hands to the side of the mattress. "Ready?" Without much warning, Jun pushed against the stairs and down went the mattress.
WHOOOOOOOOSH!
Wrapping his arms around Sophie's waist to secure her, he laughed as they slid towards the bottom. Why hadn't they had a party like this before?! They should always keep Kitridge as their head of house. Clearly he knows what he's doing.

Sticking out his tongue Peeves flew over towards the refreshments and picked up a soda. Shaking it he turned and opened it spraying the beverage over anyone that was near.
Of course nothing would be safe with Peeves around. As soon as they reached the bottom, Peeves was causing havoc. And spraying soda at people. Jun's first instinct was to cover Sophie with this robe. So that's what he did. Getting wet from all the soda, Jun sighed and eyed the poltergeist. Wasn't the flour in the kitchen with Leah last term enough?

Tiara sighed, running her sleeve across her forehead. She was actually slightly disappointed to see the poltergeist leave the tower. Now she couldn't vent her frustrations at the devilish being. A wan smile crossed her lips.
Suddenly she noticed a crumpled heap of fabric at her feet. Bending over, the instructor picked it up and noted that it appeared to be a shirt. She ran her wand over it like a vacuum, using the Tergeo spell to siphon off whatever mess Peeves had left on it. "Kyroh, let's get this back on you, shall we?" The woman held it out in front of her, waiting for him to come put it back on.
Watching Sophie get all excited about this, Jun couldn't help but smile. She was one of the few younger years that he hadn't found annoying. Good thing Kitridge put them together for the mentor/mentee thing. Sitting right behind her, Jun wiggled a bit and made himself comfortable. "Alright, I'll be sure you don't go flying off," He laughed and set his hands to the side of the mattress. "Ready?" Without much warning, Jun pushed against the stairs and down went the mattress.
WHOOOOOOOOSH!
Wrapping his arms around Sophie's waist to secure her, he laughed as they slid towards the bottom. Why hadn't they had a party like this before?! They should always keep Kitridge as their head of house. Clearly he knows what he's doing.

"THANKS JUN." Sophie wiggled a little on the mattress, bracing herself for Jun to join her - when he did, her face lit up, her eyes big and brimming with excitement for what was to come, and she gripped his legs outside hers, READY TO GO.
AND THEY WERE OFF.
Soph started giggling the moment Jun pushed them off, mostly out of sheer joy, but when Jun held onto her around the waist, Sophie also squirmed and ticklish giggles joined the mix, her arms hugging Jun's and she positively beamed the whole way to the bottom of the slide!staircase.
"THAT WAS SO FUN." Just as she started to ask if they could do it again, Peeves had appeared, and... Soph was mostly cool with it, but also not since it seemed that the poltergeist had KYROH's shirt. And she was protective over Kyroh - it didn't help that the poor kid looked so... well, he actually didn't look that bothered. She was distracted from that, though, when suddenly Jun's robes were covering her entirely, unsure of why - she felt and heard a liquid of some sort spray them, but soon enough it was done, and Soph turned to peer up at Jun who... had gotten fairly well sprayed. How noble. How brave. "You didn't have to do that," she said, trying to keep the giggles out of her voice and lifted her own robe sleeve to help wipe the soda off him gently.
DID KITRIDGE SEE THAT? That was why they needed to be mentor and mentee again. THEY HAD EACH OTHER'S BACKS.
"Thanks for bein' my hero," she told him with a big smile, turning sideways on the mattress to give him a hug, then remembered the Kyroh issue - well, that seemed to be resolved, all in all. Peeves was gone, the professors were looking mad, but the shirt was still in the room. So... it seemed the kid would get to be clothed after all. No tears for Kyroh now, right?

One minute Peeves was throwing candy at everyone and the next minute he was gone. Woosh. Vanished. Kyroh just stood there, staring at the spot where the Poltergeist had disappeared. He KIND of felt bad for him. Since he wasn't part of any houses did that mean he didn't get to go to any parties?
The twelve year old stood there basically questioning LIFE until a voice snapped him out of it. Blinking he stared at the Professor-lady. How did she know his name!? He didn't question THAT though, because she was a Ravenclaw. His people. So they KNEW stuff obviously. "Thank you ma'am!!" Grinning he took the shirt and slipped it over his head.

"I went bowling with Professors Thompson and Fuller among other things." Leo told Sophie with a grin. "It was a fun summer." At the mention of Kazahhstan his brows shot upward in surprise. "Shadowing a wandmaker sounds very risky. I hope you weren't in any danger?" Hopefully not. Cosgrach knew how to defend himself and he had probably kept Sophie out of harms way but he still worried. "You should get matrass surfing before I call it a night." Leo insisted.
Attention shifted to Penelope who continued to question Kyroh about his missing shirt. Leo envisioned that she could become a good detective or magical law enforcement worker after graduating. That was a topic for a discussion another day. Leo was about to extract his wand and do what the majority wanted and give Kyroh a new shirt when a ghost HAPPENED!
Eyes narrowing Leo quickly grabbed for his wand and cast a shield charm around himself and the student’s closet. Addressing the ghost Leo said sternly. "Get out Peeves! You weren't invited to this party and should leave. We don't want you here." If Peeves didn’t leave then Leo wasn’t above getting the Baron’s assistance. He wasn’t going to allow the mischievous ghost to ruin their party.
Eyes flashing over to the senior girl Leo said “You might get your wish sooner than expected. Keep your eye on the ghost or you might get injured.” He didn’t put it past Peeves to potentially injure one of his eagles just because he could. Sadly this party wasn’t ending the way Leo had hoped.
Turning briefly to the first year Leo said "Thornton, please keep out of the way. This ghost likes to cause chaos with his sense of fun." Hopefully Peeves wasn’t about to ruin any silk hangings or other furniture in the room.
Eyes travelling to Finn he said "My summer was good too. Please keep Thornton safe until we get Peeves out of the room before he wrecks havoc in the common room." Hopefully Leo could count on Finn to do that. Peeves would unstopped cause a mess that was a given.
Turning to Charlie last Leo said "Charlie please help Jun and Jasmine shield everyone else from Peeves antics. Hopefully we’ll get him to leave before he does some serious damage."
Leo didn’t have time to shout out any more orders or instructions to his eagles to take cover when Peeves started to fly around the room wearing Kyroh’s shirt and spraying soda on everyone. This was turning into a nightmare.

Peeves left the shirt behind after he was done making a mess with candy and soda. Turning to Kyroh, Penelope smiled. "You got your shirt back!"
Now that Kyroh had his shirt back, it would not be necessary to conjure a shirt for him. They would, however, have to clean up the mess that Peeves had made. "Mr. Kitridge, now that Kyroh has his shirt, perhaps it would be more useful if we cleaned up this mess."

And it was now currently wet and sticky. Ugh. Setting his arms down and wringing out the excessive liquid from it, Jun smiled a bit at Sophie wiping his face. "I had to. Wasn't going to let Peeves ruin your pretty little face," He chuckled and took off his robe. And to think he wanted to go straight to bed after this.
Pfft. Not anymore.
"Anytime," he grinned and patted her Sophie's head.

Finn smirked slightly as Thornton took a bean. So many different flavors all of which could be terrible. Finn ate another one, watching Thornton's reaction to the bean, which apparently looked like it had been good. At least some of them were good, even if the one the fifth year had eaten was terrible.
The firstie wanted to know whether it was possible to know which ones not to eat. "Honestly, I have no idea if there is a way of knowing. I just kinda eat the ones that I think might be safe." Sometimes he was right and sometimes he was wrong. Finn offered the box of Bott's beans to the firstie one last time while looking to see if there was anything else left on the table that Peeves hadn't gotten to. He found two untouched cauldron cakes and offered one to Thornton, taking the other and going to go sit in one of the chairs since there wasn't much left to do since Peeves had been through and wrecked havoc."I think bed might be coming soon." Finn said to Thornton, opening the cauldron cake in hand.
