Cinderella... Were they going to act out the story? 'Cause Bellaire would totally make a great evil stepmother. Mhm. But this wasn't History of Magic so what exactly-- Volunteer? No way Zander was going to do it. So instead, he just waited around for someone else to stop up. And thankfully that person was DRUMROLL.... Sophie's 'Tobes'?

Fairy GodFather?

From the moment they were allowed to sit, Ethan deadpanned at the discussion. Sure Gamp's Law, they tackled that last term, so no need to give an answer again. He was familiar with it, so there. Then...Cinderella?

Bellaire isn't possessed, is she?

From Hooksteed, to King Botros, to dress-making. Huh. Okay. He'd heard about the story, sure, but not the detailed one. Was she the one with the spindle? Or was that another princess? Ethan scratched the side of his head when he heard Toby volunteer to be the fairy godmother.

Oh?

The prefect shifted in his seat to take a good look at Tobias. Hmm. This class just might be an interesting one after all.

Cutty weighed the pros and cons briefly on whether or not volunteering would be something he'd be up for this go 'round. Maybe. Meanwhile, he was ever content to let a Hufflepuff do the job of Fairy God Mother. Cutty thought about that and arrived at being of the opinion that Tobias Tempus would be an excellent mother one day. A ghastly fairy, though. How does that even work, Cutty?

The first year had no idea what Gamp's Law was so the moment they were allowed to sit she did so pulling out a piece of parchment and her quill to take down a few notes. She did however know who Cinderella was as she'd grown up with the story.

A volunteer though? To play the fairy-godmother part? Hady looked around to see if anyone had raised their hand to do it. She didn't see anyone. With a small shrug she lifted her hand into the air sitting up straighter in her chair. "I'll volunteer if no one else wants to Professor." She offered quietly. Might as well help out the class if she didn't know the answers to the questions.

They could sit down now. Phew. AJ sat down ladylike, in case the professor was watching, on the stool. Ah, her feet felt better already. Cinderella. AJ was familiar with that story and really all of the muggle fairy tales. The lion wasn't exactly a fan, but she could answer questions about them.

Fairy god mother? No thanks. She didn't have to worry about that anyways because two other people had already volunteered. AJ actually wanted no part of this dress up lesson. Instead she sat there with perfect posture while paying attention.

Pinocchio was getting sleepy. This puppet making lesson was rather dull...he felt his eyes begin to droop...lower lower...Ian opened his eyes quickly to guage his location. Where was he and what was he doing? Glancing quickly around, he noticed that this looked like a doll making place. He glanced up and noticed Oh No! Transfiguration. He was rubbish at this. He looked down and noticed bare knees. He had to clap his hand over his mouth as he realized he was NOT dressed properly for Bellaire's class. Why had he come in here dressed like a 5 year old kid? He dug the yellow shirt, but he was wearing SHORT OVERALLS! He began to slink into a location where he wasn't as 'visible'.

"Lovely Mr.Tempus..you can be our fair God-moth...right well come up here and take your wand with you." She turned to the class and addressed them next.

Sophia blinked at the student. Was she completely lost on what she was talking about? Yes, yes she was. Was she going to ask what a Don Giovanni was? No..no she wasn't.

"Right so Toby will be our fair godfather. Good..err..good point."

"Gamp, Miss Wojack is the surname of the person who discovered the laws of elements of Transfiguration, which your fellow students all gave examples of."

"We already have a volunteer Miss Lynch but if I need another, you can be first."

So moving on..

"Mr. Tempus will retrieve a piece of rag cloth from the box to the left and drape it around me, then he will use his wand to cast the spell that the fair godmother used to create a beautiful dress for Cinserella." Everyone ought to pay attention, there was reason behind her madness.

"Mr. Tempus the class is ready.."

Hadleigh nodded her head firmly. Sure she was cool with being the next volunteer if one so happened to ever be needed. Right now though she shifted on her seat to be able to see what was about to happen.

There wasn't much more for her to do other then wait and watch as no notes were needed to be taken.

Soph still was in a right mind enough to not let herself laugh in very good humor at Tobes being the Fairy Godmother, but she STILL couldn't stop smiling. He was so... confident with himself and didn't even have a care in the world - he just really wanted to be that Fairy Godmother.

And Soph couldn't stop looking on with the utmost admiration.

When Bellaire gave him his instructions, though, Soph raised her eyebrows and crossed her arms in front of her, looking between the two with interest. Why did Bellaire get to be Cinderella, hm? SHE could have been a really good Cinderella! It was okay, though - Soph didn't know how Tobes was going to go about doing this spell, so maybe... maybe she should be glad he wasn't going to be trying to transfigure a rag draped around her into a dress.

Not that she didn't trust Tobes' skills. She absolutely did. But it was Bellaire. Hopefully this wasn't some kind of trick to make Tobes look silly, hm?

SCORE! Toby beamed, pulled his wand from its holster and headed right up to the front of the room with Bellaire, thankful that he'd be able to do something aside from sit and watch (and... and learn). He stood up straight, totally confident and totally ready to do this. He'd put his all into it, as usual.

OH. The class was ready, and his BIG MOMENT had arrived.

Without further ado, Toby went to the box with a skip in his step and chose a piece of the rag cloth as instructed, singing along the whole time, as that was totally part of the spell after all...

"Salagadoola mechicka boola..." He chose a blue rag thing, nice and bright so everyone could see it. "... Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo... put 'em together..." Lalala, skipping back to Professor Bellaire and Toby, with a huuuuuge beaming grin on this face 'cause THIS WAS FUN, YO- "... and what have you got?" -and he draped the blue cloth over her. Then Toby stepped back, bouncy bounce, and off to the side a little so he wasn't blocking anyone's view, before raising his wand and... "Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!"

Nothing... really... happened. The fabric just sort of... fluttered, as though hit by a light breeze, but nothing else. Had this been what Bellaire had meant by proving that the cartoon had been 'absolute garbage'? Or had he done something wrong? Whatever it was, Toby's grin didn't falter at all as he lowered his wand again and waited for the verdict from Bellaire.

Ian was interested to see if in fact 'Bippity, Boppity, Boo' would work. Of course it most likely would be more effective if there was singing and dancing about. That would be entertaining and he thought perhaps Tobias would get LOTS of house points for creativity. He wondered how well this would go.

Well, this got interesting and fast. AJ watched every move the older hufflepuff did. Yup, she was still glad that she didn't volunteer. Her spell work was still shaky, and she didn't want to cross Bellaire. AJ was pretty sure that she would EAT her if the spell with awry. No thank you.

Man, the puffer was so confident, and seemed so happy to be the fairy godmother. Mad respect. AJ didn't really care who liked that sort of thing, but it just wasn't for her. Go on, boy. She caught a laugh from escaping just in time when he tried bibbidy, bobbidi, boo. Was that an actual spell? Either way, this was amusing!

Maddie couldn't help but smile at Toby's performance, wondering all the while whether or not the boy had done something like this before. Is that what him and Sophie got up to when they weren't doing homework or going to class? Did they often reenact scenes like this? She'd taken the Hufflepuff for more of a prince but he was doing just as well as a fairy godmother so really, she wouldn't be surprised.

Bibbidi-bobbidi-boring, though. Could they do real spells soon?

Toby had just demonstrated exactly why Alexa didn't volunteer for things anymore. What even was he chanting and doing and ...what? In her younger years she might have attempted but her eyes were open and her bum would continue to remain on this chair because she knew nothing of this Cinderella person and why her fairy godmother went around casting fake spells.

This must have been Professor Bellaire's proof, the fact that nothing happened after Toby finished the spell.

"Maybe you got the wand movement wrong." She quipped idly, knowing full well that incantation probably wasn't even real. Just a thought, an idle jest.

Adi wanted to laugh as Tobias began the 'incantation'. He now saw what Professor Bellaire was trying to prove to her class. Well, not try to prove but had proven. Clearly 'Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo' was no incantation.

Or like Lex suggested, the wand movement could be wrong. But naaah. She was joking obviously.

Nope, he didn't want to be a fairy godmother...or godfather as it was. No volunteering for him as he just wanted to stay in the background and pay attention, doing whatever work he had to. Time for him to go back to being the normal quiet Benny than anything that he might have done recently. Beside, there seemed to be plenty of others willing to volunteer with a Hufflepuff winning the position in the end.

As for what he was to do...

A spell...on Bellaire...that hadn't even been mentioned.

Was Ben missing something? Because he was confused, and when Tobias acted out what he took it to mean it didn't make things any better. Even if he had a good idea that wasn't going to work no matter how many time it was tried. It certainly didn't sound like any spell he had ever heard about.

Curiously, Lux watched as Toby headed to the front of the room where Professor Ballaire was. Singing the song from Cinderella, he dug a piece of fabric out of the box and draped it over her before standing aside and performing the 'spell'.

Okaaaay, that had been rather pointless. Obviously. Everyone surely knew the spell wouldn't work even before he had draped the fabric over the Professor(well maybe besides some of the younger ones). So what was the point she was trying to make here? How nonsensical the fairy godmother is?

Confused Lux was confused.

Angel was glad she hadn't volunteered because she would have been calling the Professor crazy everyone knew that wasn't an incantation and it was just in a moving and made the story better... though surely someone could create a spell and use that as the incantation... hang on how did the people who created the spell decided the name of the incantation she would have to ask someone that later but for now she was watching.

There was no way he could tell Ethan that it was okay without the possibility of Bellaire losing it and telling him not to talk. Not that he'd said much in the first place apart from a single word but whatever. He wasn't BITTER. Besides, he had other ways of communicating with the Prefect and so, at the fourth year's words, Grayson shot him a nod and a smile. An actual smile.

Jeez, was he giving out too many of those?

Shrug. Some notes had been scribbled down and it was only after that that things turned interesting. Toby being a fairy godmother? Well. This added to the Hufflepuff persona, didn't it? What did the fairy godmother do? Made surer hat Cinderella got to the ball in something better looking than those rags. Kinda made the Slytherin wonder if that was what they were gonna do today. Be fairy godmothers, in a sense. If so, he was gonna have some problems.

Okay, seriously? Bibbidi bobbidi boo? What even?

Lulz. MAN. Grayson half wished Declan was up there making a right idiot of himself and he, Grayson, could be the one to record it. Alas, couldn't do that to a nice guy. Couldn't deny that it wasn't kinda amusing either so he sat back, arms crossed against his chest and an amused grin spread across his face. Was there gonna be more? Please say yes. This would be MUCH better than a lesson on fashion.

Dorothy stared at the Fairy God Mother Boy. Saying weird things didn't just make stuff happen. Duh. Uncle Henry always said... Nothing just happens...without hard work... But what was...whaaaat?

BLINK. BLINK BLIIIIIINK.

Norah stared around the room, rubbing her eyes with one hand and letting some random basket that was in her other fall to the floor.
Um.

WHYYY WAS SHE SO DIZZY? Wait. Why was she in the Transfiguration room? She had just been...in the common room right? How did? What the?

The second year rubbed her temples, ignoring the fact that Toby was in the front being a fairy. What the heck was going on. Norah buried her face in her hands. It was more confusing than Arithmancy, which was saying something. Welp.

So Toby Tempus was going to be the...fairy god!father? Yah, she could see it. He nice. And the fairy godmother--in the traditional DISNEY-ESQUE fairy tale version, was very nice. It worked. Toby liked to make people happy--so yeah.

Eden raised an eyebrow. Well of course it didn't work. It was a made-up spell? Duh? But she did smile at Toby because JOB WELL DONE, DUDE! And she even gave him a little thumbs-up. HEH.

Was she supposed to be taking notes on this part? She didn't THINK so. So yeah. She wasn't. Her quill was resting on her paper and she wondered...what else they'd have to watch...hopefully this turned into an acting class...but she shouldn't get her hopes up. Her magic would be so...lousy in this class...with being nervous and whatnot.

Pay attention??? Pay attention, Miss Wisteria. She was paying attention, or is, or whatever. It was just relatively difficult to stay focused when... why where they going make dresses? Okay, she won't be questioning Bellaire's way, she never has and wasn't planning on starting now. This would've been useful last term when they were cold and could make more and more clothes to keep warm. Just saying.

Ooookay, Tobias was volunteering.

This was interesting enough. A live demonstration. Though... he didn't know how the boy knew the spell thing, cause, they hadn't discussed that. Have they? Or was it common knowledge? Either way... it sounded like a stupid made up language - for the most part, like... how did they say it?... gobbledygook? Yeah, THAT.

Zeke looked to the Professor. Expectantly.

Surely she was going to tell him he was WRONG and that there was a simpler RIGHT way to do it.

Thornton was... confused. Perched on his stool, he watched Tobias volunteer, his brow furrowed in confusion at the instructions. Were they all supposed to know the incantation from a fairytale? He'd never read Cinderella. But apparently Tobias knew it. Huh.

Bibbity-bobbity-boop? Was that.. real? Thornton rubbed his eyes, confused and stared. Nothing had happened. Soo...

He bit his lip and waited to see.
