| | |  The Sculpture Exhibit
 What was once an abandoned room next to the arena down the corridor is now full of metal sculptures in the shapes of creatures. Labeled accordingly, most of them one could recognize as being more dark in nature, such as the hinkypunk and red cap. Others seem to be created due to sudden inspiration from the maker, such as the squirrel or swan. The door is usually unlocked, open to both student and staff. Don't panic if some of the sculptures seem more lifelike than you first thought. A twitch of a wing. Movement of a head. A chirp from a bird. Was that clabbert always hanging from there?

Indeed they did. Cosgrach narrowed his eyes. He didn't like this place. He didn't trust these things. What if someone charmed these stuff to attack -

His spell hit the door. He didn't know when his wand was in his hand, or how he turned back to hit the attacker. He was SURE he had been quick enough, but apparently his attacker was quicker.
"Who's there?" WHO hit him!?

"Who's there?" WHO hit him!? Sophie HEARD his spell and snorted in laughter, quick to stifle it after the initial snort as she put a hand over her mouth. She was REALLY glad she was fast and had moved out of the doorway instead of standing there grinning cheekily at him.
Though... maybe that would've been FUNNIER because Culloden would've inevitably felt bad for shooting a spell at her like that. Hehehehe.
She waited a few moments after he asked who was there, curious to see what he would do - for now, it sounded like he was just standing there waiting for an answer expectantly, so Soph dug into her pocket and pulled out another wrapped piece of gum and, without letting him see anything but her arm, tossed the other piece of gum at him, too.
How's that for an answer? Heheheh.

Soph couldn't help it anymore. She laughed, wholly and fully and deeply as she heard him shooting off spells. Merlin, what had him so on edge? Why was he so defensive over being hit with two tiny pieces of candy?
It was funny, really, even though she shouldn't have been taking such delight in his fury, but he was getting all riled up for NO good reason. Hilarious. She felt a little bad, too - just a little - and ended up slipping her wand from its holster on her arm and gripped it tightly, planning. Carefully. Methodically. Strategically. If he was so worked up right now and she walked through that doorway, he would UNDOUBTEDLY react instinctively and shoot a spell at her without even looking to see who it was. She knew that. So... maybe she had to do something to get him to let his guard down.
"It's your FAVORITE, dummy," she turned her head and called into the room and paused to let that sink in for a moment, but then, because she was still super amused, she tucked her wand around the corner and into the room, pointing it blindly where she thought he was standing and cast, "Rictusempra."
Hopefully that would get him to lighten up and not kill her for scaring him, eh?

His attacker was laughing! So, it was a human... or SO he was wanted to think, but he wouldn't! He wouldn't assume anything!
He swirled and tried to locate it, but his head was spinning, and someone was saying something about dummies and favourites. No, dummies were in the next room, he knew that. This was just a distraction, although the voice did sound familiar and it was a favourite of his -
"...HAHAhahaHAHAHANO-HO-HO-! STOPPEEHEEET!"

Please, Sophie, please! Soph waited with bated breath after she shot the spell, hoping it would hit her intended target and not one of the many sculptures in the exhibit -
And there it was. Hearty, booming laughter. It was a beautiful sound, like music to her ears.
Grinning smugly, Soph peeked her head into the doorway and grinned at the sight of him - she laughed, too, both from his infectious laughter and at his expense. "Merlin, you were acting like someone was out t'get ya," she spoke loudly over his laughter, still smiling away at him and twirling her wand in her hand as she moved into the room. "Somethin' y'wanna share with the class?" She meant herself, of course, and was curious if someone WAS out to get him. Especially after that troll incident - hadn't it been out to get just him?
"Oh, Finite." So he could breathe and reply and all.

YEAHYEAHYEAH WAS SHE GOING TO SAVE HIM SOON??? Cosgrach couldn't even stop laughing, so he didn't hear half of her words. All he could do was not fall to his knees, but it was getting harder. He laughed and laughed AND LAUGHED -
Breathe. Breathe. Breathe.
He bent down and supported himself on his knees as he panted and tears rolled off his cheeks. "Mer-" breathe, -"lin, Soph." He looked at her. "I don't trust these things." Breathe. Not to mention a troll so keen on killing him.

Breathe. Soph was still giggling at his expense and showed no signs of stopping. He was SUCH a drama king, did he know? "I have never heard of anyone dying from that spell. You're just overreacting," she teased him, grinning cheekily and sitting on the floor a few feet away from him.
He didn't trust... the sculptures? Sophie looked around at the various metal creatures, unbothered by the ones that seemed to be moving around a little, and couldn't help but grin even more. "They're not gonna hurt you, T.G.O." Didn't he know? "Romanos made 'em, and she's not out to get us."
Maybe Culloden had been spending too much time around Zander.

Soph adjusted her position on the floor, scooting a little ways over so her back was leaned up against the wall and sat with her legs crossed and her hands folded neatly in her lap. She continued to grin expectantly at Culloden as if to challenge him, as smug as could be as he finally seemed to gain his composure.
She loved to push his buttons, did he know?
"Uh huh." She then made herself cough suddenly for a few long seconds, coughing the phrase, "Scaredy cat," in the midst of it, and unable to keep from grinning when she was finished. "Oh, sorry, 'scuse me, there was somethin' in my throat." HEHEHEHE.
At his question, she folded her arms smoothly across her chest and raised her eyebrows at him. "The better question is... what are YOU doing here if you're so 'fraid of this place, hm?"

He could call it whatever he wanted, but Soph saw right through him - Cosgrach Culloden was a chicken, and she knew it. And she wasn't going to let him forget that she knew. Heheheh.
She let it go for now, though, and resigned to just grinning cheekily at him, her arms still crossed smugly. "It's Romanos' art exhibit. She made all these sculptures herself." Soph looked around at them as she talked, her gaze settling upon one particular hinkypunk that she didn't trust. "They're animated, too - they do move, but they're not gonna hurt you. At least... the bird one Romanos sometimes has with her minds its own business."
This was all truth so far, but Culloden was SO on edge that she would be silly to not take advantage of his vulnerability. "Though I heard someone say they were in here once and they swore one o' the birds flew at their head. So who KNOWS what could happen." Was she convincing enough?
"...If I were you, I'd watch out for that squirrel by your foot," she nodded to his left. "Looks like it's ready to POUNCE."

Cosgrach didn't like her smug attitude, but he knew she'd just get worse if he picked on it. Instead, he looked around at the sculptures - or should he say BEASTS? - and narrowed his eyes as she explained. So they DID move. Failing at charms made him distrust that branch of magic, so he didn't like this news. Of course, he was being completely irrational. Romanos was an able woman. She knew what she was do-
"The bird attacked?" The fear WAS there, and he held his wand tighter.
POUNCING SQUIRREL SAY WHAT -
He JUMPED back, making a "Aaah!" sound in the process.
"WHYDIDSHEMAKETHEMFOR?"
To scare people away? He knew there was more to her beneath that Slavic accent of hers!

Now more than ever Sophie Brown wished someone would come walking by or into this exhibit to SEE the fear that this "dragon of the dungeons" was experiencing. He was HILARIOUS right now and Soph couldn't even hide her amusement, though she did try at least a little by lifting a hand to her mouth and keeping it there to hide her smile as Culloden very clearly showed how scared to death he was.
"Couldn't tell ya. People have weird hobbies." She shrugged. "If you're so scared, y'don't have to stay here, y'can leave the room whenever y'w-... LOOK OUT!" she shouted and pointed dramatically at the statue behind him which was, of course, not moving at all.
Was he going to kill her yet?

Weird hobbies? Creating attacking BEASTS was a HOBBY? Cosgrach grunted, also perplexed at how she was still so comfortable. Did she know a trick to stop these things? Had Romanos taught them a spell he didn't know? He opened his mouth to ask, but then something else was trying to attack him AGAIN and -
"WAAAH!" AAAAH! AH! He jumped again, but couldn't land very well, so he fell face-forward and just whimpered on the ground.

Sophie LAUGHED the moment he fell over, still keeping her mouth covered and TRYING to be polite and all, but she COULDN'T HELP IT. He was SOOOO DRAMATIC. SO FUNNY.
"Culloden, Culloden! You need to relax, I was just kidding - I haven't seen one of these things move since I got here." She went back to crossing her arms and tried to stop smiling, but to no avail. "You are the biggest drama queen I have ever met. Nothing's out t'get ya, 'specially not one of these things." Okay?

He got up and glaaaared at her. "'Tis not acceptable at all to make fun of your professors. Tomorrow. My office. At 7 PM."
He pulled at his robes grumpily for the effect and walked out, ignoring any and all protests.

Soph was STILL REALLY AMUSED, even after the man stormed out, and the entire time she was TRYING to be SUPER POLITE by hiding her amusement behind her hand.
She didn't say anything until after he left the room, at which time she continued to stay seated on the floor, but she murmured something that sounded a lot like, "Finally." And, after a little while, she finally got up and left. Giving the guy a head start and all so he wouldn't think she was going to beg for forgiveness or anything. Because she wasn't.
Took him long enough to crack, though, didn't it? Merlin.
