Enjoy the fresh air and take a peaceful walk down the pathways! The stone path is surrounded by heaps of colourful plants and hedges. Please do not step on the flowers, though. Obviously.

"Well, if he ever does...he just better keep that promise, is all," he said simply. He wondered if Grayson had been seeing other girls on the side as well - if they weren't 'official' would he REALLY do that? Probably. He wouldn't think about it, though - he didn't want to think about Grayson AT ALL anymore.
Whoa, that was her middle name? And he thought his Uncle Alex had it bad. He wouldn't tell her that, of course. That was a distraction from Grayson, for sure. "I believe it," he chuckled. "So, what do you like to do for fun?" he asked with a smirk. Besides running around with pillows on her head. Knowing Ruby, it could be literally ANYTHING.
Was HE living life? Well, he hoped so. Maybe he really DID need to live a little...loosen up and stuff. Stop worrying about stupid drama with his sister. He wasn't her babysitter - he could have fun of his own, right? Right! "Yeah, or...well, yeah, I am. I'm not worrying about stupid sibling problems anymore" he declared with a grin. Until tonight probably.
Had she moved closer or was he imagining things?
Ruby's opinion was the opposite. She didn't care if Grayson properly dated someone, as long as it didn't interrupt her own situation with him. And if nobody knew that was going on then who did it hurt, right? Nobody. Wouldn't be her problem at all. He was such a flirt too, like Ruby knew as a flirt herself, but Grayson took the cake. He gave as good as he got and then some. It didn't seem in his nature to be able to turn that off. But she supposed she'd find out, probably.
"We could play a guessing game." She suggested lightly. "You can try and guess what I like to do for fun, but lets sit down first, I mean, if you want to sit with me, Caleb"
He got a big smile in response to him trying to let this sibling thing go and 'live'. "Good. There are much better things to do than worry all the time." Especially about things you couldn't change. Like being a Ruby-type and not a Sophie-type.

There was one more planet that Lux needed to create, and she had decided that the pathways was a perfect place to work. The outdoors was always nice when it wasn't Arctic temperatures, and fresh air was an added bonus in her opinion.
Skipping along the path, she finally stopped upon reaching a spot that wasn't too densely populated with trees. If she ended up accidentally casting the spell on one of the trees, Mr. Kirby's replacement surely wouldn't be very happy about it. Lux was curious to meet him, but felt that there was a safer method to go about doing it that didn't involve destruction of school property.
Making her way onto the grass, she placed her bag down before taking out the last bit of yellow sand. Tap. "Fingere Elementi!" The little planet formed before her eyes, and she gave a smile upon hearing the POP! That meant it was time for her to cause some more fun destruction. Using Locomotor Planet, she floated the little orb away from her. It was time to once again try out the newest spell that Professor Romanos had taught them. It was always awesome to incorporate one subject into another.
"Glacius Tria!" The little planet turned into solid ice before her eyes the way she imagined the effects of a huge ice age that covered everything and caused all plants to die and all lifeforms to cease to exist.

A guessing game? Caleb grinned and then sat down next to her. Of COURSE he wanted to sit and hang out with her some more, especially since he'd finally gotten all his angst out of the way - for now. It would probably be back later, because that was his luck.
"Hmmm...I'm gonna guess you like doing...crazy stuff. Like running around with pillows on your head...and flirting with every man who walks by," he added with a grin. He wasn't stupid - he could tell that Ruby was a flirty girl. The fact that it made HIM go all mental was what threw him for a loop.

Toby knew that if he had been cooped up in a jar all day long, he'd want to sort of get out and spread his wings. If... he had wings. Well, he DID have wings, but wings that were attached to his own body. In any case, he knew that the fairies were probably used to having much more of an open space than they had in the jar. And though it might have been wise to perhaps let them out while in his dormitory, Toby wanted them to feel the open air and everything, and had every faith that they wouldn't fly away if he just asked them nicely.
Once he reached the pathways, Toby held up the jar in front of his face.
"Right, friends," he said to the creatures, who were flitting around the jar looking at their surroundings with a vague interest, prompting Toby to wonder if they'd been around these parts (or anywhere other than the grove) before. "I'm gonna let you out for a while, but I'd reeeeeeeally appreciate it if you didn't fly away. I mean, if you want to, that's okay. I don't want you to stay in this jar if it makes you unhappy, but I mean, I'm pretty sure you're gonna be released at the end of the assignment anyway, and probably where I got you from too. So uh... well, you guys just do wherever, and I'll be right here if you still want to stay with me after."
The Hufflepuff moved the jar so it was pinned to his side by the crook of his elbow, and untwisted the lid. The first out of the jar was Spyro, which didn't surprise Toby in the least. It flew up and circled Toby's head a few times, making the sixteen year old dizzy as he tried to follow it. Puck was out next, and flew off to look at the plants. Tink and Cordelia exited the jar together, flying leaisurely around in the air.
Meanwhile, Toby sat on the ground at the edge of the path so that he wouldn't get in anyone's way. He was glad to see that the fairies all stayed relatively close, with Puck (or at least, he was pretty sure that was Puck) venturing out the furthest.
While they flew around, Toby looked at the plants around him, struck with a sudden idea. There were twigs all around him, and stems with leaves that were not yet dead from the cold (probably enchanted, or some form of evergreen, Toby thought). He collected some of these and stood, already feeling the energy build from being still for too long. Still carrying the jar, Toby wandered down the pathways, occasionally picking up foliage from the ground, with his four fairies moving along with him.

Sophie wasn't the best with creatures - at least not with taking care of them. She liked visiting them down at the playpens and stables, but she wasn't all that good at taking care of things. As an only child, she'd only ever had to look after herself, and she didn't have much experience with pets either. So looking after something and actually having to make sure it lived and was happy and all was mostly uncharted territory for her, and she didn't know the first thing about taking care of a fairy, really, let alone two.
She walked along the pathway peering at the two in her jar, though, murmuring things to them and not at all sure if they could even understand her. "I'm Sophie and don't know what you guys like but I'll try to make you guys happy and please tell Thompson I did a good job, okay?" Even though it was cold, she was ASSUMING they probably wanted to go outside. Fairies liked being outside, didn't they? Probably way more than being inside her dormitory, so here she was, taking... them for a walk. Sort of. The sunlight was probably good for them, and they seemed to brighten up and peer curiously at the various snowy flowers and shrubs as they passed. "I wish I could let you out, lil things, but I don't think you like me enough to not fly away." They'd probably escape at the first opportunity, wouldn't they?
A little ways down the path, she grinned, seeing that Tobes had a similar mindset today. HIS fairies were outside of his jar, though, trailing behind him loyally, and... Merlin, he had quite a few, didn't he? "How do you keep them all straight?" was her choice of greeting as she approached, looking between her two fairies in the jar and his four. "I don't even know how to differentiate my two. Share your skills, oh great fairy whisperer?" Hehe. But really, could he help?

Toby had gone from walking, to bouncing, to skipping, and was now moving around the pathways with a gait that was not quite a jog, but not really anything else either. The fairies were zooming along with him, flying around him and in front of him and occasionally flitting off to look at the flowers. Tobias was just debating whether it would be a good idea to fly at full speed (and hope they stayed with him) when a familiar voice rang out, causing him to turn to face the owner of it with a smile.
"Hello to you, too, Soph," he replied, all beamy and windswept and in good spirits. His band of fairies had also turned to see who he was talking to; Cordelia hovered just above his left shoulder, and Puck and Spyro ventured over to investigate the new human, which meant that Tink must be the fairy sat on top of his head. "Guys, this is Soph. You might recognise her." From the pictures he had up by his bed, of course. They'd been sat next to all the pictures of his friends and family all day, and it looked like the fairies DID remember, from what Toby could tell with how comfortable they already seemed with her.
But yeah, talking to Soph now.
"I just sorta..." Toby trailed off a bit, thinking about it, before he shrugged his non-fairy-laden shoulder. "... been talking to them. I befriended them in class, and they agreed to go in the jar, and I've been spending time with them and..." He grinned, looking slightly to the left to see Cordelia. "I guess that's it."
He'd had to stop himself from what he wanted to say, about how it had been pretty easy, because Toby realised that it probably wasn't so easy for everyone.
"Mine have names," Toby told Sophie, moving off to the side and setting down his empty jar, while Cordelia and Tink flew over to peek into Soph's jar at her fairies. He straightened again and pointed to each fairy in turn. "That one, the smallest one, that's Spyro. And that's Puck right beside him. The one with the biggest wings is Tink, and the tallest fairy is Cordelia. I named them earlier."
Once he'd said all this, his fairies all backed up a little, and went to circling above their heads.
"I guess it also helps that I put on my wings and pretended I was one of them for a while," the Hufflepuff said casually, looking up and watching them flit around. "... Have you let yours out yet?"

Sophie was enticed with the way the fairies moved with Tobes and the gentleness with which he interacted with them. This was really natural for him, wasn't it? Being friends with fairies? A smile spread across her lips and she observed - and her eyebrows raised as two of his fairies came over to inspect her. "Hi," she said to them, offering a little wave of her hand, entirely awkward in her attempt to communicate with them.
She gave Tobes a sheepish short of grin. Did he think she was awful for not being a natural at this like him?
She listened intently to his advice, though, humming softly as she looked between her fairies and his like there was some kind of great difference in them - hers looked ready to get out of the jar and play with Toby's fairies, but... what if they wouldn't get back in her jar? What if they wanted to join Toby's little army of fairies and make him the fairy king? Soph stroked the side of her jar thoughtfully, nodding as he spoke, and eventually giggled a little at his mentioning of wearing wings.
"No, I haven't. They're... well, I dunno if they like me yet. I bet if I let 'em out, they'll fly away. Or join your colony and not wanna come back with me again." Her gaze fell upon her own fairies again, and this time she tried to see them as individuals - one was a little bigger than the other, wasn't it? And the bigger one had both a bigger body AND bigger wings - only slightly, but enough that Soph thought she could decipher one from the other, if they were both right in front of her to compare one to the other. "I think one of mine's a lil bigger than the other. That one... can be named... ummm..." What was a good name? "Zelda. And the smaller one will be Lily." No particular reason why, they were just the first things that came to mind and they both looked the part enough.
She pulled the jar a little closer to her face and peeked in at them, offering them an uncertain smile. "D'you like those names? Zelda? Lily?" No? How could she tell? Did they even know what she was saying?
Peeking at Tobes and his multitude once more, Soph asked him, "D'you... d'you think they'll fly away? If I let 'em out?" Pause. "How do I make sure they come back?"

Well... now that the fairies were out and flying about, wasn't this a perfect opportunity to clean the jar? He'd done so the second he'd woken up that morning, and had planned the clean it again right before going to sleep, but this was sort of a good time too. He picked up the jar, despite having only just put it down.
"Tergeo," Toby said, having brought his wand out from his pocket and pointed it into the jar. "Scourgify."
See? He was remembering that he could actually DO magic now. Progress. Except, even after cleaning the jar magically, he still went to use his shirt to manually wipe at the inside of it too, whilst talking to Soph.
"They might," he told her, speaking honestly. "But I mean, if they do, you could maybe-" let them go "-catch them again, like in class?" He leaned closer to the jar to look inside and Zelda and Lily. "They'll probably prefer being outside and out of the jar, and will appreciate you trusting them enough to let them out. Plus, I've found they like attention. If you give them enough attention and stuff, they'll want to come back and get more of it." At least, that was Toby's view of it all.
"If you let them out, they'll likely fly around with my lot and all hang around here together," Toby added, watching his fairies (and Spyro in particular, the energetic little thing) fly around again. "But if you're worried, you can always wait."
Toby looked back at his hands, which were now using his school tied to clean the jar some more, though he didn't recall actively deciding to do that. He pulled his tie back out, and raised his wand again, "Scourgify!" Now it was super extra sparkly clean.
"You could give it a try now, if you like, while mine are still out? I'm taking them back in soon; got a ton of studying to do."

Soph noticed him cleaning his jar and briefly wondered if she already needed to do the same. They hadn't been in there all THAT long, she thought... but... they also had been in there the whole time. They probably hated her, didn't they? Maybe she DID need to let them out. In the worst case scenario, the fairies would fly away and leave her without the ability to finish her homework assignment, and Soph figured she could sweet-talk Thompson into letting her write some sort of essay on what not to do when taking care of a fairy to complete the rest of her homework grade.
What Tobes was saying made sense, too, about them liking her more for letting them out. So... with the slightest hesitation, Soph removed the lid from the jar and was unsurprised when Zelda and Lily both fleed from confinement immediately. She watched as one made loops in the air, stretching her wings freely, while the other chased after one of Toby's - Spyro, she guessed, but she wasn't really sure. Maybe they had been friends before they caught them?
"They seem happier already," she said, keeping her gaze focused on both of them, both to make sure she knew which fairies were hers and ensure that they weren't about to completely fly away on her.
Her eyes wide open and focused hard on keeping track of her two, Soph asked Tobes, "Could I borrow your wings later? And... maybe we can schedule these guys another play date? I feel like that'd make 'em happy. And... before y'go, how much food do we give 'em? Just a lil sprinkle? Or....? Did I miss Thompson's detailed instructions?" It was likely, since she had been very focused on the topic of Zahra and Tobes toward the end of the lesson when instructions were being given. Was THAT why she was so bad at this?

Was that a smug little smile on Toby's face? Well, it MIGHT have passed for smugness, sure, but Toby was more pleased than anything to see all six fairies flying around and above them and having fun. But he couldn't resist teasing Soph with a gentle "Told you so," nonetheless.
Ehehe.
Borrow his WINGS? Well.
"I suppose so," Toby replied, exaggerating the idea that it might put him out a bit. "If you must... Nah, 'course you can. Just be careful with them, they were a gift from an old teammate."
Toby raised up his jar a little, a sort of subtle gesture to his fairies that if they could come back to the jar soon, that'd be great, and glanced at Sophie.
"Sure, no problem." And as for the food... "Uh... just a sprinkle, I think he said. That's what I've been doing, anyway, and it seems to be enough for them."
He continued watching the fairies all play with each other, finding that he could easily pinpoint which of the fairies were his, as Soph's were obviously not that familiar to him. It seemed that they were making the most out of this, and wearing themselve out. Finally, one by one, Toby's fairies flew back to the jar in their own time, with Puck being the last to return. He left the lid off for the meantime and spoke to the fairies again.
"We're gonna head back inside now guys, but if you want, I'll let you fly around my dormitory when I'm in there," he told them, thinking that maybe he'd just leave the jar open for them to do whatever they wanted in that space of time devoted to studying. Usually Toby preferred to go all over the castle to study and do homework, but he wanted to keep his fairy friends company.
Toby looked up again at Soph. "I should head off. But yeah, just give them a sprinkle of the food, and I guess if they still look hungry after that, you can give them some more. Thompson probably gave us more than enough food to last the assignment." He grinned. "I'll see you later, yeah?"

Looking after fairies was difficult for someone who didn't even LIKE them that much. Just LOOK at them! They hardly did anything and he had to get accustomed to them? Let them recognise him? Differentiate between them? It seemed too much for the fifth year who didn't want to spend a lot of time with them.
But he was here. Outside. And along the Pathways because, as always, he'd let his feet carry him somewhere and it brought him along to this spot over here. Right near a bush ad some flowers. This was gonna be one of those airy fairy tasks, wasn't it? Like that butterfly walk back in the Prefect's event last year. All this was missing were some butterflies and confetti and skipping from the fifth year.
Grumble.
Coming to a stop, Grayson held the jar up to his eyes and tried to put on his best smile. It was what his mum always told him to do: smile and try to be as polite as possible, even if he didn't like who he was talking to. "So........... 'sup!" Cool head nod. "My name's Grayson. Remember it 'cause I'm gonna be looking after you for a while. And under MY care, you can bet on those wings of yours that I'm not gonna let anything happen to you BUT I need YOU guys to promise me that you're not gonna fly away. Do we have a deal?"
You probably couldn't swear in front of fairies, can you?
Jeez, this was going to be a lot harder than he thought it would be.

For a moment, Soph thought Tobes really DIDN'T want to let her borrow the wings - but then he told her it was really okay, but that she DID need to be careful with it, and Soph realized just how much he trusted her, if he was worried about them but he STILL was willing to lend them to her.
And she grinned.
He then confirmed that it was just a sprinkle of food, and to his helpfulness she smiled even more broadly and nodded, "Thanks." As Tobes' fairies made their way back into his jar, Soph watched with interest, smiling at how fiercely loyal they were to him - so trusting that he didn't even have to put the lid on the jar for them to stay in there. "You're an impressive person, Tobias Tempus." Had she told him that before? He needed to be reminded.
Her own fairies were still doing their own thing, though one of them - she wasn't sure which - looked like it WAS considering diving into Toby's jar, but it ended up chasing after her other fairy. At least they... were playing an getting along, right? That was nice.
"Yeah. See ya later, fairy whisperer," she said it like it was a joke, but they both knew it wasn't. Hehe. With a wave to him, she faced the challenge of getting her fairies back into her jar.
...Hm.
"Hey, Lily? Zelda? How 'bout... we... go back to my dorm? You can fly around in there and explore and stuff, and I'll clean your jar and make sure you have food and stuff. You can meet my other best friend, CB - y'met my first one just now, the friend to all fairies, he's my boyfriend, actually - but CB, she's super nice and maybe she has some fairies you guys can play with, too?" Or... maybe she didn't. Had she left with Gabe during class? She couldn't remember, but it didn't seem to matter because one fairy after the other flew toward her and landed themselves in her jar. As if they actually UNDERSTOOD her.
Soph figured they trusted her more for being friends with THE fairy whisperer. Thanks, Tobes. Smiling to herself at the thought, she left the lid off the jar and walked back up to the castle with her fairies.

What was the next bit? Let it recognise him?
WELL. This face wasn't one that would be hard to forget.
Ego aside, this step should be dead easy, shouldn't it? And the fact that they weren't trying their hardest to escape from him was a very good sign, indeed. In fact, there was a lot of wing fluttering and over enthusiastic waving. Grayson made a face at that. Had they secretly been fed Elixir to Induce Euphoria or were they normally that happy?
Communication was hard, though. This was something he was gonna have to mention in that little paragraph or whatever it was they needed to write for Thompson in addition to this. There was this constant buzzing and he KNEW that they were trying to tell him something but he couldn't figure out what it was. And his nosiness wanted to know.
So. What was he meant to do next? Because recognition was doing to them being around him, which they were, and realising that this face was taking care of them. "This is awkward, isn't it? And I'm meant to give you names as well, I bet. Any names you like?"
Pause.
"Course, you can't talk to me which hexes that idea right in the face." Was he really talking to himself at this point?

Taking pictures without a Dima to be her subject matter was boring and stupid, and Dot had escaped outside to find ANYthing she found inspiring. The ground. A rock. The cloudless sky. Nope. They were all stupid and boring.
Since Dot had her wellies on, she stomped a bit off the path, sending little slushy waves of snow out from each boot as it hit the ground. There was an interesting knot on that tree, but it wouldn't move when charmed, so there was no point. And then there was a flashy of dark against the snow, and Dot took the picture quickly before it could get away.

Oh... oh darn. What was that spell again?
The world needed to come alive while she was out here. Over 15 minutes out on the grounds and the Gryffindor was already unimpressed. You think more things would be happening on a day she decided to get photos taken but apparently not? Bummer. Sure she'd taken a picture or two of birds zipping by--or tried to anyway--and there was that one of Felix she'd taken before leaving her dorm but those didn't count.
Deciding there was need for a different perspective, Alexa hoisted herself up into on of the trees by the path. This would be the perfect vantage point in case the world decided to be interesting and a rabid chimaera ran by.
Merlin wouldn't that be the day??
A Gryffindor could hope...or just take pictures of the little snake walking by. "You should smile." Lex said from her spot on her branch as she aimed her camera. "But you don't have to. Candids are good too. Just don't stop walking yet." And with a click she'd captured little Dot or Red. It was hard to be sure these days.
"Perfect."

Things had happened when her fairies had been caught and Beverly hardly had recognition of how it'd happen. She vaguely remembered being there and...it was all so confusing she decided to start over with her little fairies. Against popular belief, this Wayne had a heart, and it showed more when there were creatures around. So even if she had been a grump all day long, she could push pass that and be happier around her fairies.
The Slytherin found herself at the pathways, arms hugging a jar with two fluttering fairies to her chest. It was a bit chilly, not enough to see her breath yet, but she worried it'd dampen the fairies's spirit. Glancing down at them, she tilted her head.
They were staring at her.
"Are you two okay?" They weren't shivering or showing signs of cold. The DID blink at her with their large fairy eyes, almost as if they were expecting her to do something great. What had Belle done with them? Oh crud.
She smiled at them, a sincere smile. To her surprise the fairies buzzed around the jar, circling and circling as if they were celebrating. Huh. A smile was all it took to set them off all giddy? This...was progress. Yes.

Names.......... NAMES.........
Why was this so HARD?! He was good with names. Kinda. Dude usually give his own name when people asked for one and they'd laugh it off as a joke when he was being serious. But he had to give these PROPER names. And they were probably girls with the way they were flapping their wings around and flicking their hair over their shoulders.
Dude was not gonna be happy if he somehow landed himself with the AGATHA version of fairies.
"So you two need a NAME and it should be a freaking brilliant one. I'm just going to throw some names out at you two and you can choose which ones you like. Got it? Good. What do you think of........." This was hard. "Cassidy? No? Gwen? Grace? No? You don't want a really WEIRD name like Skye or some--"
And then there was an enthusiastic nodding and wings flapping from one of the fairies.
"So you DO want Skye? You with the......." Differences. He needed differences. The way the face was shaped? Or the hair? And size. "Shorter hair and longer body? You're Skye, then?" More enthusiastic nodding and wings flapping from the taller fairy. Skye was a freaking weird name. And it sounded airy fairy.
Moving ON. "You need one too. How do you feel about Danielle? No? Holly?" Wasn't that the name of the girl Billy-down-the-road liked? "Lisa? Yeah? Do you like it?" This one was a bit MORE enthusiastic in the way that it was tryin its harder to cartwheel in delight and it just........
THUMP!
"Alright alright, take it easy. You both have names now." And he could differentiate between them. Uh huh!
It sort of peeved her that she had to smile for the fairies to get all excited. Not that she minded, but she didn't want to have to smile every time they stopped fluttering their wings and stared up at her as if expecting a show. It was rather annoying.
Feeling something scramble on the hoodie of her jacket, Beverly sighed. "Chomper, I know you're there. If you scare my fairies I'm going to eat all the oranges and give you none." He loves oranges. Bad behavior equals no oranges.
It seemed the sugar glider was curious about the fairies. He ran across her shoulders, then scurried down her right arm and clutched to her sleeve as it leant toward the jar and pressed its nose to the glass.
"Fairies this Chomper. Chomper these are..." She didn't have names for them. In fact, she had forgotten to differentiate them as the assignment instructed. They both had gold tinted hair and their skirt glowed a soft green a pink, but it was their wings in which Beverly could tell the difference. One of them, the one that seemed less excited, had purple-ish toned wings, while the more cheery one had a pinkish tone.
That down, she had to come up with names. Beverly should probably put down somewhere that she was terrible at names hence Chomper. He got his name when he bit her. Well. An assignment was an assignment.
"Violet and Trinny," she announced. What? They were the first names to come up to mind. It was better than Thing One and Thing Two. "Chomper meet Violet," she pointed at the fairy with violet wings, then a the rosie-winged pixie, "and Trinny."
Did the fairies like their names? Yes, no? She hoped for the former because they were moving. She didn't have time to bust out a book of names.

Dot did pause and smile, her hands under her chin and her cheeks stretched back into a Cheshire grimace that was a bit more horrifying than cheerful. Anything for the scary girl she admired... and feared. Just a bit, but then Lex had reamed her royally in class that time.
"What's the spell again?" Dot waited until Lex had lowered her camera, and then she raised her own and took a few quick shots. The picture she had of Dima taking a picture of her was the best one she'd ever taken, and maybe lightening would strike twice.
"Sorry I said you smelled like a butt. By the way. You don't. You smell real nice." Dot skipped over and tugged on Lex's sleeve.

So he was back here again because the fairies needed some EXERCISE.
There was only one problem: he didn't WANT to let them out. And it wasn't for some mushy gushy reason of being separated from them or whatever. He wasn't THAT connected with these litle creatures; he just didn't want them to fly AWAY. That'd defeat the whole purpose of this and all of his previous efforts would have been flushed down the drain.
Nope. Nope. Couldn't have that.
So a pep talk? Brilliant idea. "Okay, listen here, Skye and Lisa," Why were these names so NORMAL sounding? Especially LISA. Skye was just weird, which he figured would suit with that fairy's personality. "I'm gonna let you out so that you can fly around and do what fairies normally do. This is your chance for some FREEDOM but don't you dare think that you can fly away, mkay? Because you can't. I said so." And he was the boss, clearly. Which was a lot better than guardian or dad. Shudder.
"Okay, here goes!" And with that, Grayson pried open the lid of the jar and let the fairies fly free. It was like seeing those weird nature shows where they released butterflies back out again. They all rushed out as if they couldn't wait to be released and the boy usually took no notice of things like that. He did take notice of the way the fairies flew out, taking a moment to spread out their wings.

Ahahaha! She'd chosen a good sport for her subject. There were a few she could think of who'd have kept walking and her without her proper wand to hex them sorry. Horrible turn of events that could have been. "You could be a teeth model, show kids what'll happen if they conform to the strict demands of ridiculous dentists."
There was a momentary dear in headlights moment right after lowering her camera and running right into a flash. It's just as well, Lex looked good even when she wasn't paying attention. "Alacer." She said. "You just tap the picture and say that." With a nod and with that she pulled out Professor Airey's wand and tapped the picture that had come out. "Alacer!" Voila! A grinning Dot.
And a skipping one! Again Lex snapped a shot, figuring this one would be good for showing...movement....Chesire Slytherin say what??
Lex gave the girl a curious look over. BLIIIINK. "When...did you say that......? And WHY?" The sleeve tugging got another click from her camera. Busy body, wasn't she?

Furthering her way along the path, trying to balance two fairies in a jar and a stubborn sugar glider, who refused to let go of the jar while its tiny feet gripped to her sleeve, Beverly spoke to Violet and Trinny. Talking was part of bonding and she needed bonding to happen so they wouldn't fly away when she let them out of the jar.
"Now," Beverly started, reminding herself to loosen up on her sternness, they weren't annoying little children she addressing. "I want to be able to trust you and let you out of the jar. I can only do that if you promise not to go berserk on me and fly away."
Did they understand that?
She blinked at Violet and Trinny expecting answer, a response of sorts. While Trinny made an excited buzzing sound, Violet fluttered her wings rapidly while watching Chomper. How adorable. Her fairy seemed to like her pet sugar glider more than her.
Just peachy.
Finding a tree with large roots, Beverly went over and sat her bum down while setting the jar on her knees. There. Now she had a better view of her fairies and Chomper, and they were far from other students, hopefully that'd produce less anxiety for the winged creatures. In addition to that, if they did fly away, they'd probably fly into the closest tree and it would make it easy to recapture them if they did.
"It's awfully crammed in there, do I have your word you won't fly away?" Violet and Trinny buzzed and fluttered around in the jar, occasionally knocking on the lid, knowing that that was their exit.
Beverly hesitated. She was NERVOUS. What if they left and she failed her assignment? Wand out, that was reassured her slightly more. Wand in hand, Chomper present, Beverly prepared herself. If they did fly away, Beverly could take one down while Chomper took another one.
That was the plan. Her little monster better stick to it. She slowly twisted the lid open...

This was so freaking weird. All he had to do was stand here and let the fairies fly around? Make sure they didn't fly away from him? You know, this was starting to make him feel like some sort of creep. Which he was, but not about fairies. Not even pretending that it was a girl he likes was helping. It was too ingrained in his brain that these were tiny Pixie like creatures who simply looke human like.
WEIRD.
And they were now comparing their hair lengths and talking in their own fairy language. Grayson rolled his eyes. "Alright, if you're gonna just hover there, I'm gonna give you something to do." Were those disapproving looks he was getting? Deal with it, fairies. "Er." What did fairies even DO? "First, you need to warm up so do some jumping jacks. In the air. And don't give me those looks! It's for your own good." And he was the nods. Clearly.
The fairies were a little reluctant at first, which was understandable because as much as he liked being outside, he didn't like knowing that he had to do a task given to him. As if someone was bossing him around. It didn't work like that. But he WAS glad to see some jumping jacks happening, which weren't as effective in midair, probably. Shrug. "Now go and fly around this bush over here," he said, motioning to the bush closest to him because he was lazy.
"And I am WATCHING you so don't think you can cut corners either."

He wasn't exactly sure what to take pictures of, because it was EASIEST to photograph people. That's what they'd done in class, and it would have been more fun and interesting to be snapping shots of a buddy in different places, but Dima was by himself on this one.
And also kind of... stuck.
Thoughtfully, he lifted his camera to his eye. Maybe things would look cooler through the lens? Not that anything actually did, but... that tree was nice. Yeah. And the wind was blowing some snow off the bare branches, and that would be a decent scene, right? Natural beauty. Or something.
He clicked the camera, grabbing the printed image and slipped his wand from his sleeve to his hand. Alacer, right?
"Alacer." Dima tapped the image with his wand, and voila. Branches swaying and snow flying and everything.

"Teeth model?" Dot wasn't thrilled with the idea that the best part of her face might be her teeth. She clamped her lips tight over her teeth just to keep from over exposing that very best part of her all at once. How would she make her first million as a tooth model when Lex had so many pictures of her teeth already?
She recalled the spell when Lex used it, and Dot eagerly held out her picture of a bird (blurry) and the picture of Lex taking a picture. Each got a tap with her wand, and Dot said, "Alacer. Alacer." Dot was pretty much an expert at this spell, and she was relieved to see that her blurry bird lit upon a branch and turned into a robin.
"In class? When I threw the note and you yelled at me and then everyone yelled at you? During your horned period?" Didn't Lex remember going through a horned phase? Dot raised her camera and took a picture of Lex's hair caught in the wind. Was it going to hook on that branch...? Nope. A shame, too.
