Enjoy the fresh air and take a peaceful walk down the pathways! The stone path is surrounded by heaps of colourful plants and hedges. Please do not step on the flowers, though. Obviously.
Excitement and whatnot from the night before had left Eden feeling very...overwhelmed. She had woken up sporatically throughout the night and KNEW that Clara had been the same way. Her new friend has just as much of an overwhelming time as she had. So when she woke up, for good, she asked Clara to go on a WALK with her, so here they were.
Not without food though..
Eden had insisted on stopping in the Great Hall, first, and had grabbed a few bagels, one for her and one for Clara, and smiiiiiled out at the beautiful, fresh AIIIIR. "I love being outside. Have I said that before?" she asked Clara, taking a bite out of her bagel and sighing. "Creatures and Herbology will probably be my favorite classes." She said with a shrug. The weather was nice today. It was a lot warmer than Durmstrang ever was, and she kind of....loved it.
"How do you feel right now? Doing okay?" she asked, looking over at the redhead, genuine concern playing across her face. She knew she hadn't known the girl for long---like a day---but still. She wanted to be there for her...she could tell, when she looked into Clara's eyes, that there was something else there. Eden always had a eye for that kind of stuff because she, herself, was a very emotional person despite being AWESOME. "I grabbed you a bagel, too?" she held it up for her.

Mornings were not Clara's thing at ALL.
Especially when she'd repeatedly woken up during the night, so hadn't really slept very well. Nothing was new there, though. She was just relieved that she hadn't had a nightmare and woken up screaming that night. That definitely wouldn't have been a great first impression for her roomies, buuut it was likely that they would have to get used to it happening every now and then.
Clara glanced across at Eden as they walked out of the Great Hall and mustered up a little smile. How her friend was so happy and awake at this time was beyond her, but she was glad because it was putting in an ever so slightly better mood. Though she was still quite groggy. "Oh .... nope, I don't think so," she said, stifling a yawn. "You think so?" Interesting. That was pretty much the opposite of her. "I don't think I'm going to like those subjects much. I think potions is going to be more my thing." ..... Another thought. "Maybe you could help me out with Herbology stuff?" There was no doubt that she would at least need emotional support putting herself through subjects that she wasn't fond of.
The redhead stifled another yawn as thoughts circled her head.
.... Not good thoughts ..... not good thoughts at all ...
She frowned, then snapped her head up when Eden started speaking again. Was she doing okay? She ... didn't want to lie and say yes, so she considered her words carefully. "I'm ... not sure, really. I'm just really tired right now, you know?" This feeling that she had in the mornings and late at night usually disappeared fairly quickly. "I'll be okay, though," she assured her, throwing her a weak grin. "What about you, Eden?" Because that mattered a great deal, too.
As did food ... food mattered a LOT ....
She snatched up the bagel, GRINNED, and took a bite. "Thank you, Edeeeeeen. Edie. Denny. Dennyyyyyyy."

Eden smiled. "Then I just said--I love it. I can't be TRAPPED INSIDE. Did you hear what happened last year? Here at Hogwarts? They were FROZEN INSIDE THE CASTLE." Her mouth was open in a wiiiiide O as she thought of the HORRRRROR. "I would have DIED." She was fifteen and allowed to be DRAMATIC okay?
She then nodded. "Yeah. I'm better at magic that doesn't...require magic." She sighed and looked down at her feet as she walked, chewing her bagel quietly. "I'm actually really lousy at magic. I feel like...I don't know." She shrugged and didn't say anything else about that. She knew it wasn't because she was half-blood, but she couldn't get what her uncle had said out of her brain. UGH.
"Yeah. I'd love that." She smiled and nodded at Clara. "If you help me with potions. Ugh. I am SO lousy." She said and just..felt so inferior. She needed to stop this pity party NOW. Her eyes looked ahead of them. The path was empty...perfect for them to just relax and enjoy the morning. "I just. Meh. I get nervous when I have to do serious magic...and potions--well--I get so CONFUSED. And don't follow directions well because I just--don't understand potions books half the time.." AND CUE SIGH. "But it's okay. I'll be good at...something I'm sure." Maybe she was blabbing. UGH WAS SHE TALKING TOO MUCH?! But that's what girls DID right?! THEY TALKED A LOT.
Clara was yawning a lot, and Eden wished she had found some coffee somewhere. Or tea. Oops. She yawned, too, and giggled. "I caught your yawnies."
She looked ahead when Clara started talking. Hmm. "Tired? Yeah. I am tired, too. But not in the..sleepy way. All these new faces and stuff...I'm worn out," she smiled nervously over at her. "I'm okay. I miss Durmstrang a lot. I miss Ed--" and she stopped short and just blushed. "I miss a good friend of mine." There. If she thought too much about Edward she might cry. "And a few others from there but..." she shrugged. "I will see them again soon. I hope." She was having...thoughts. "I miss my parents, too. Dad had just gotten home three weeks before I left." She didn't feel like it was enough TIME. "I have to send them an owl later today." Once classes were all over and done.
Eden's smile was drawn across her face. DENNY?! Eden LOVED it. Her big ole' mouth was open wide in that toothy grin, and she couldn't help but hug Clara. "You're welcome. I hope we stay friends." For...like ever. Or maybe just a long time. Forever sounded creepy. She let go and just kept walking. "Now I need to name YOU...HMMMM..." she smirked as she wondered..Clara...Clara...Clara Wilde..."I'm terrible with nicknames, my GOSH."

The Fourteen year old had an entire castle to explore, and the first place she made for was the grounds. The weather was nice, and she didn't quite know what to think of the castle, which made outside the better option today. Plus, maybe she could find some of those man-eating plants that Emmaleigh and Vickers had told her were here. Or you know, the animals the ginger girl had gone on, and on, and on about. So, with hopes of finding something, Kara found herself wandering along the pathways.
LOOK at this place! Full of trees, flowers, all sort of plants.
Awesome
Hugo was more than pleased with Hogwarts. Mhmm, you have done a good job till now, Hogwarts. Did Drumstrang had something like this? And though he wasn't going to admit it to his parents, they were right about sending him here. But Drumstrang was cool too. Period. The first year walked and walked until he found a big rock to sit on it. He took out of his pocket a piece of parchment, he had to inform his excitement to his parents.
The little boy took out a bag of sour gummy worms. His favorites. While chewing one, he started writing his letter. Dad, mom! Hogwarts is so cool...

There was a rustling in the bushes, followed by an growling whimper. And then suddenly-- POOF! A cloud of smoke.
Something got hexed good.
A blue robed brunette suddenly pops up from among the bushes, shoving something hastily in a pouch. And then MOVEMENT in the corner of her eye!
-- Wand up!
But wait-- it was a student "Oh!.... You gave me a fright-- I mean, what are you doing there??" Huxley glared at the girl, lowering her wand somewhat. This is why she wants girls around here to wear heels-- it identifies them clickity clacking from a mile away.
Yeah thats what crazy is, when its broken you say theres nothing to fix++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++And you pray that everything will be okay, while you're making all the same mistakes

Gwen had been exploring the castle all day and had finally made her way out to the grounds. She was just so in love with this place already. She never wanted to go home. Not to mention living in the tower was kind of nice. She had a great view of everything.
Gwen skipped her way through the little pathway just taking in nature. When she was pretty far down it, she spotted a familiar face. She skipped over and sat on the rock next to him. "Hey Hugo. Long time no see."

Kara could hear the rustling up ahead, and hurried forward to see if it was a creature of some sort, or one of those moving plants. It was unfortunately neither one. It was a girl, a girl in blue holding a wand right in her face.
“Sorry,” she said stepping to the side so the mysterious girl's wand wasn't pointing at her anymore. “I was just walking, seeing whats out here. Why were you in the bushes?” she questioned, and tried peering through the shrubbery

She was just walking... seeing whats out here. Huxley narrowed her eyes at the other brunette then suddenly hopped out onto the pathway. She circled the yellow-robed one taking stock of details.
Now why was she in the bushes? "Because I wasnt on the pathway." she chirped simply, pocketing the pouch into her robes. She had few "friends" in Hogwarts, and fewer still are those who were in the know with her nefarious ways. "But now I am, and yes, seeing anything and everything that is out here. As the saying goes-- best things in life are free isnt it?" smirky smirk, and now skipity skip down the path. Is she coming along? Better keep up young one.

Again he took another gummy worm and put in in his mouth. He was close to finish the letter but someone interrupted him. He looked beside him and there was Gwen, "Hey!" he folded his parchment "I didn't saw you at the feast" yeah he had looked for her from the Slytherin table, since she was the only person he knew. "In what house are you in?" asked curiously "I'm a Slytherin!" said proudly.
Norah was skipping walking aimlessly, chocolate frog in hand, through the grounds when she found herself facing a multitude of...flowers? Scurrying past a couple of other students, she stood in the center of pathway and swiveled her head around to take everything in. This place was AWESOME! How had she not discovered it before? Oh right...frozen Hogwarts...
She shoved the chocolate frog into her pocket and crouched on the side of the path, sticking her face into cluster of purple flowers. She breathed in all their flowery goodness, because YAY PLANTS, when she felt a tickle in her nose. Uh oh. AH- AHH- ACHOO! Oops, sorry flowers.

Marigold was taking a break from her studies and decided to go for a walk. She hadn't asked anyone, not even Mitch, to join her, so for the moment being she was alone. She was fine with that, though she could use someone to talk to.
And there a person was. Norah was adorably sneezing, so Marigold took the opportunity when her eyes were closed - because one can't sneeze without closing their eyes - to hurry up behind her.

Ooookay. That was a one way to answer that question. “Well, you're not wrong.” the Hufflepuff agreed, as her eyes followed the pouch. That was weird. “But that didn't answer the question.”
“Oh, but you're exploring out here?” Kara said, hurrying to follow behind. “Are you new here too?” Was she one of the ones who she stood beside waiting to get sorted? “My, um, friend, she told me there are lots of creatures here, and really cool plants and things.” Maybe they could find find them.

"Of course not-- Ravenclaw." she replied with a winning smile. Getting it right was their thing even in the most mindboggling circuitous way. "Well if you're not happy with that answer, perhaps that is not the right question." she spun slightly on the balls of her feet "The question is-- why do you limit yourself on the beaten path? Hmm?"
"Yes and no." the blue-robed brunette responded in quick succession to the girl's questions."Oh yes, lots of creatures, lots of plants, big, small, seen and not seen, moving and not moving, past, present and future." she continued on. Suddenly she peers closely at a shrubbery, twirls out her wand and utters a few spells. No reaction from the plant. Eh wrong specie then moving on. Steals a glance at the other brunette before this "With the way you walk and the way you talk you have that aura of being fresh off the train-- So do you have a name or should I have you be known as the Asking-questions One?"

"Bless you."
"EEEP!" Norah shrieked in surprise and toppled from her unstable crouched position. Who said that?! Scrambling from to her feet, she whipped her head around and ended up with a mass of auburn hair in her eyes. Whoops. Maybe she should have brushed that this morning. She pushed her hair away and found herself facing the bestest prefect. "MARIGOLD!" she shrieked again, lunging forward to hug her around the middle. Was that loud? That was loud. She looked behind her and whispered "sorry, flowers" before turning back to face the older girl and grinning. "Did you know about this place? It's so cool!" she said, determinedly keeping her voice steady. Of course she did. Prefects knew everything.
Norah looked down at her legs and brushed away all the dirt because second years were not dirty, before remembering she had a chocolate frog before the flowers starting being all cool and distracting. Pulling it from her pocket, she saw it wasn't too squished so she held it out in Marigold's direction. "Chocolate frog?"

Marigold LURCHED back when Norah screamed, stumbling over her own legs and having to throw her arms into an outstretched position to not fall over. She stayed there until she got her balance back, then straightened back up and smiled at the girl. And AWWW. She apologized to the FLOWERS. That was adorable. She hugged Norah back and squeezed her slightly. "I diiiiid know about this place. But I've been here for five years so it would be kind of concerning if I didn't." She paused for a breath and looked around, soaking up the smells of the flowers and the general air of being back at Hogwarts. "It is pretty, though. And there's an absolute lack of marigolds, which I'm happy about."
And CHOCOLATE? Marigold took the slightly flattened chocolate frog gently, with a "Thanks." She used her other hand to pull a jelly slug out of her pocket, which she then held out to Norah. "Trade?" She should.
Rumor had it there had been a fight at the opening feast between two sisters, and that was why Ravenclaw - and Gryffindor, although that was none of this little Diggory's concern - was in the negative for house points. And while typically the thirteen-year-old ignored rumors, because most were untrue and pointless, it did make sense.
Hayley fought the urge to roll her eyes toward the sky at the thought, and turned her attention back to the crup trailing not too far ahead of her, off her leash which was tucked in the side pocket of her bag, ready to be used. Not that it was likely to be.
Personally, she could never, ever imagine losing house points due to a fight with her siblings. It would never happen. Hayley adored her brother and sister too much, and there was no need for any kind of fighting. If anything, she would be protecting them, as an older sister should. Merlin. She couldn't even imagine fighting with her cousin, for that matter.

Noel Wallace had officially begun to write a bucket list. He had been thinking about all the crazy things he wanted to do and it wasn't easy. But at least he had something to occupy his mind because ever since his return to Hogwarts, things had been very very boring.
Not to mention, he hadn't yet seen his cousin - can you believe it?
Spotting her right away, the thirteen year old called out: "Yo, Diggory. Where have you been?"

Hayley paused, turning on her heels as she heard an all too familiar voice. She knew exactily who it was, of course, before catching sight of him. Yo?"Walking." That's where she'd been for the last half hour or so, give or take. Hayley was fully aware that wasn't the proper answer to his question, too, yup. It was the cheeky response he earned, though.
Head turned, and grey-blue eyes looked for the wandering Tulip that had yet to notice her owner had stopped. Tulip was busy with a patch of tulips, though, so Hayley wasn't much concerned and continued to wait for Noel to reach her. He was coming, right? "Where have you been?"

Noel jogged his way to her, coming to a stop in front of her. "I know, stupid. But you have been MIA for a while now, I totally missed you on the train too" he complained. Because no, she was not allowed to go missing like that.
"I have been here!" He said, gesturing at the surroundings by waving his hands at it. "Also, have you decided yet? What are you getting me for my birthday?" He was going to be a fourteen year old so soon!

Stupid? Noel did NOT just call a Ravenclaw stupid. His own cousin, at that! Eyes narrowing just a bit, Hayley smacked his arm lightly - playfully, really, - for his comment. "I wasn't trying to be MIA," as for the train, well.. "I went looking for you, but I couldn't find you - and I was keeping an eye on my friend's little brother at the same time, since it's his first term here." And Gracie, too, had been MIA during the train ride. It was a thing with them, they looked out for each other's brothers.
Hayley could have been a smart alec, and made a remark about Noel's 'being here', in the great outdoors, the whoooole time she had been 'missing in action', but thought better of it. "No. Yes. Maybe." The Diggory answered, smile growing as she eyed her dearest cousin. Did he really think he would get an answer out of her? "I'm not telling." That would ruin the surprise, duh.
Nudging his side with her elbow, Hayley started walking slowly.

The best house.
Gwen was tempted to take one of those yummy looking gummy worms. But didn't think they were those kinds of friends that took things without asking first. At least not yet. Hugo seemed like he'd be a nice enough friend to keep around.
"I saw you get sorted and I just stayed at my house's table." Ya know. To try and make friends and what not. So far it worked. Plus she got to meet her super awesome Head of House. "Congrats. I got Gryffindor."
"Of course not-- Ravenclaw." she replied with a winning smile. Getting it right was their thing even in the most mindboggling circuitous way.
Ravenclaw.... what was that supposed to, “Oh, yeah, Ravenclaw.” Blue robes, got it. Were they always this wordy? She processed all that the other girl was saying and nodded. “Okay, but... isn't it good to ask why the path is beaten in the first place? I mean, there's gotta be a reason why, right?” But that was more of the metaphorical sense or something. “but, I don't why we'd have to stay on the path here though”
“Oh, well, are we going to see some of them? The seen ones that is?” She nearly bumped into the other girl when she stopped suddenly in front of her. Peering down to see what she was looking at, Kara asked, “So, what sorta plant is that?” Or maybe it wasn't important? “Oh, yeah, Kara,” she ssid with a nod, and held out her hand to the other girl. “And, mhmm, just got here.”
Norah raised an eyebrow. "Why wouldn't you want any marigolds? It's so COOL that you're named after a flower! I loooove flowers. One day I'm going to have the most ginormous garden ever, and it'll be filled with all sorts of flowers and some will be magical and some won't and they will be all sorts of colors and there will be lots of butterflies and super awesome things. And I'll make sure to plant some marigolds just for you." She stopped momentarily for breath before continuing, "But that won't be for ages. I'm still too little." Apparently, like most things, you had to be a certain age to have a supercool ginormous garden. And that age wasn't 12.
"Oooh, thanks!" Norah exclaimed, taking the jelly slug and handing Marigold the mostly un-smushed chocolate frog. She made sure to chew AND swallow because manners, DUH, before opening her mouth to ask, "So what brings you here?" MAYBE SHE LOVED FLOWERS TOO, AND THEY COULD HAVE A SUPERCOOL GINORMOUS GARDEN TOGETHER!
