Leaving the courtyard corridor, you will find yourself in an enclosed, squared courtyard. It is covered with bright green grass with various plants placed around the stone walls. This is the perfect place for meeting friends, or a chance of fresh air whilst catching up with your homework. There are plenty of stone benches placed around the area, too!

The book warmed to the boy's touch, and with each turn of the page, the words began to light up in a beautiful gold colour, getting brighter and brighter, wrapping itself around his fingers...
And just like that - the book VANISHED.

Glowing book, what did that mean? Was something happening? Because as far as the eleven year old knew, books didn't glow,ceven at Hogwarts. That just didnt happen. And now it was happening anyway. It was pretty, the glowing book and all, but the music was quite pretty too.
Anyway, someone was looking at the book. She wanted to look too. Moving over to the boy who was reading it, Ophelia moved to his left, looking to see if she could over the shoulder read. But that failed, because she was small. So with a tiny grunt, the blonde hopped up on the ledge and tried looking down, quietly and slowly working on it.
the Piper was coming back! Oops. She hopped off of the ledge and stood on her tiptoes to see better, still listening to the music. There was only a few words she had time to make out before he got back though. Smiling at the Piper again, Ophelia laughed a joyful laugh at hus music. It WAS good, and rather enchanting.

There was a shadow over the book and it was only when he barely noticed movement that he realized there was someone else there. Someone else trying to read the book in his hand. Didn't they , whoever they were, see that he was reading it at the moment. How rude? Here he was just reading with the music in the background trying to enjoy the outdoors for even a little bit and he couldn't manage to do it alone.
Feeling his hands warm, he noticed it coming from the book, his full attention drawn back to the glowing object in his grasp. But he didn't notice the words glow or the enaring effects as they tumbled off the page. And when the book vanished, it's former companion jumped as if surprised.
Now where did that White Rabbit go?

Sighing as she walked down the corridor and into courtyard, Layla immediately glanced around for something interesting to photograph. She was SURE she'd heard music here just a second ago but now it seemed.. Empty. Really empty. And so incredibly boring. What on EARTH was she supposed to take a photograph of now? Her nose wrinkled a little at the sight of the studentless area, it was almost as if there would be a tumbleweed just casually rolling past.
Getting her camera out of her bag the girl headed over the corner of the courtyard and waited for SOMETHING to happen. Anything? Pleeeeeaaase?
Much to her relief, a squirrel thought it the opportune time to run across the courtyard and pounce out into the corridor. She quickly snapped a couple of times to get the best shot, not that she really cared whether it was blurred but she was sure the Professor would probably mark her on 'quality of image' or something.
As it printed out the fifteen-year-old perched leaning against the wall before she slid down into sitting position, her legs folded underneath her. She tilted her head and tapped the photograph once with her wand. "Alacer" she spoke as the photograph did absolutely nothing. Perhaps she had done it a little too half-heartedly? She tried again..
"Alacer!" And this time the image animated as the squirrel totted along the courtyard. With a grin Layla shoved it into her bag.

There was just one more photo to take....and with the last one...Gabe had gotten a neat idea. Unfortunately, to complete this idea, he needed some privacy...because it was a.....thing. A thing....for someone...and he didn't want people talking about it...or cracking jokes....or being weird about it.
An apology thing...
Gabe had gotten his hands on a puffapod seed...and the materials to plant it...and considering that he didn't too much care for plants, the person this gift was intended for should've been happy with it. Maybe. EVEN IF IT WAS AN APOLOGY PLANT...gift.
He had so much anxiety about the person NOT liking it...that Gabriel wasn't allowed to consider that possibility. He wouldn't talk himself out of this....Especially not after the hours of research...and reading HOW TO's on the pink flowers.
Getting the pot ready was simple enough....and after doing so, he broke out the pink seed. Did she like pink? Gabriel didn't know...Obviously, she was a girl...and girls loved pink, right? Ruby liked pink....
Okay.
Raising the camera, he prepared to drop the seed...and then he did; quickly SNAPPING! the photo as it blossomed into the big PINK flower. The last picture! He felt relief even thought it was something strange to feel relief over....completely one's homework...even if he wasn't fully done. The spell needed to be 'practiced'.
Letting the photo develop, he levitated the puffapod flower into the soil and pot and finished caring for the plant in that way. With a little water...Gabe was ready to head back to Ravenclaw.

Eden could appreciate this. "I like that idea. BUT--you know what would be MORE fun--" she widened her eyes in COMPLETE delight. "IIIIIIF somehow--we could get our hands on a wheelchair---AND WE STUDY WHILE SOMEONE PUSHED US LIKE DOWN A HILL--or the stairs--" she then made a face. "You know--with cushions at the bottom--" maybe she should stop talking. "But then we might get in trouble. Which I don't mind but...pffft, other people do--" she rolled her eyes. Pansy people.
But wheelchair races...sounded. So. FUUUUUUN. Maybe she'd suggest to her head of house or something. They had done mattress races, after all, at the welcome thingy after the opening feast.
She siiiighed. "Me too. I like to be active. Sitting so still does me in, really." Her fingers were playing with her collar absentmindedly, loosening her tie, and her blue eyes roved over the skateboard once more. She'd have to see if her dad could get her one for Christmas or something, if they could handle it. Or...she could just ask her cousin? Since he was financing her Christmas gifts to other people, bless him.

The brunette was blushing and looking all shyyyyy and at her feet and hooking her hands together behind her back and scuffing her shoe---

"Well. Thanks." She had to smile because it was an AWFULLY nice thing of someone to say. And what a NICE way to think, eh? Eden wished she was as positive. Her stupid brain was all negative half the time though.
NODNODNOD. He got lots of nods from her. She reached a hand forward and PET the board--"Niiiice, boardy--have you named him?" she asked suddenly, raising an eyebrow. Eden seemed to like naming things...hmm. She had named the plant in Herbo Bulby...yeah, not the most creative, but Eden could be quite lazy. "He looks like a Philip." She said knowingly.
Toby felt himself smiling wider and wider. Eden... Eden knew the score. All that stuff sounded SUPER fun to him, and his mind was now running through the various ways of making her idea possible.
"We could attach wheels to chairlegs or something, that'd be fun-" 'Cause wheelchairs were generally meant for people who needed them, after all, plus they were super hard to come by at Hogwarts. "And make a slide out of the stairs, and-..." GAH so many IDEAS. "... All in the name of studying, of course. 'Cause who would get in trouble for studying?"
OF COURSE. It would be like... practical Charms studying, though Toby reckoned he probably practiced Charms more than any of the subject, what with all the different shenanigans he got up to. It was how he managed to find fun in basically everything. Just like MAGIC. Heh heh.
More smiling at Eden was happening, because she seemed super nice and definitely a friend Toby would like to have. "No problem." Griiiiin.
And then... what. Toby had to hold back a snort in laughter as she treated his skateboard like some sort of beloved pet, and decided to play along, still grinning so much his face was starting to ache. Good ache, though. Happy ache.
"Y'know, I haven't," the Hufflepuff replied, looking thoughtfully at the board too. It was strange that he hadn't named it yet, though he supposed that most of the things he liked to give names to were... alive. But now, well, it Eden was right. "Philip... Hmm, yeah... Philip. I like that name."

"Do you like hugs?" she asked, because she WANTED to hug him but she had to ask first. Some people weren't into being...touched. And Eden was VERY touchy most times.
And then Eden was breaking down into a giggling fest. GIGGGGGLING fest. He was DUBBING his skateboard PHILIP. "Well." She was breathless from laughing so much. "W-well--I am h-h-HONORED--that you named him Philip....because of ME!" She was very beamy now. It was like..naming a pet something because SHE suggested it. GAH. She covered her giggling mouth and bowed her head towards the skateboard. "How do you DO, Sir Philip?!" she asked, and she couldn't help but laugh a LOOOTTT.
So much so that she was now choking---and leaning over--and choking. Can one CHOKE on laughter?! IS that POSSIBLE?

In the name of academia."
Yeah. Academia. Sure.
"Well, most of my friends are in Ravencalw," Toby replied, still very beamy and happy and all that. Now that he thought of it, a HECK of a lot of his friends were claws. With a smattering of Gryffindor and Slytherin. As for Hufflepuffs... sure, he had acquaintances there, but nobody all that close. Weird. "So maybe I'm biased, but I'd say it's a pretty good house to be. And, as a matter of fact," he added, grinning even wider. "I love hugs." Was he gonna get one? Kid sure hoped so.
Toby liked Eden. He liked that he'd apparently made her happy what with using her name suggestion for his skateboard, he liked that he'd made her laugh so much, and he liked that she was such a genuinely nice person to be around. So what if they'd only known each other for a few minutes; he knew she was awesome.
But... she was laughing a LOT now. Uhh... could she still breathe? Toby nudged Eden's arm with the tail-end of Philip and spoke uncertainly.
"Are you okay? I can stop being funny if you need time to breathe." But no seriously... uh... WAS SHE OKAY.

He was covered in dirt from having plucked the thorns from the strange varieties of roses he'd found down by the water. Hands on learning, though. And that helped him recognize the fact that some of the plants in the courtyard were the one and same varieties that he was looking for. They were much smaller, however and less obvious. One had small, slight-peaked thorns, another's thorns seemed to stick straight out and up. Still another variety had stems and stalks that were completely covered with the prickles which made it hard to hold and harvest them. Then there were the brightly coloured ones; golden yellow, and a sort of purpley red colour. The last he'd spotted belonged to a viney variety that seemed to cling inconveniently between the spiked-all-over one.
Cutty was going on a thorn gathering expedition as he was not inclined to be prepared, for paranoia was the free gift with purchase endowed to all who sort with Salazaar, he took out his dragonhide gloves and slipped them on. One by one, with a wand in his dominant hand he diffindo'd each of the thorns off of the different varieties of roses and collected them in his phial before heading back into the castle.

His steady walk along the pathways to collect the thorns had led him out here. More or less. He couldn't find any more roses with thorns back along the pathways and there seemed to be plants along here so it didn't hurt to have a look, did it? Certainly not.
So, with his jar filled with seven thorns, Grayson swaggered walked along the corridor to the courtyard and then stepped into the courtyard itself. Rose bushes? A clump over near THAT corner over there. Thank Merlin because if there weren't any here, he'd have had to go searching somewhere else and he was feeling kinda lazy, as usual. All the boy really wanted to do was either go back to his potion or go and get a snack.
Shrug.
Once he reached the bushes, Grayson bent down and started examining the stems for any thorns. The first one didn't seem to have any -- had someone been here before? -- but the next one did. The thorn was picked out and placed into the jar before he moved on. Thank Merlin for dragon hide gloves. Really. A second thorn was picked out and placed into his jar. And then another......
........ and another........
............ and three more to make up that unlucky number thirteen.
It was a nice enough day outside that Justine decided sitting in the courtyard wouldn't be the worst thing ever, and after being stuck in the castle the past few days, it was a welcome change of scenery. Tiger flowing her lead, Justine crossed the courtyard to a vacant bench and quietly claimed it as her own.
Meanwhile the lively kitten made itself busy batting at a few of the flowers and weeds that had grown with the spring, popping up almost seemingly overnight. It was an endearing sight, and cool as Justine was, even she was no match for Tiger's adorable behavior. "Silly thing," She cooed, resting the urge to bug the striped cat.

So how exactly going outside to find Snow White suppose to work? Cinna had no clue. She decided to stop in the courtyard. Look around and act like she was trying to figure out this homework assignment. She was just going along with it.
She wasn't going to try the mirror again. She felt that it was pointless. Just a normal mirror. Anyway she started looking around for some sort of clue.
What kind of clue? She didn't know.
Again maybe the mirror was still the logical thing. Ugh. She opened her bag and pulled out the mirror again. She looked into it and again in her best evil queen voice, she said. "Show me where I can find Snow White." She tapped her foot and waited for something to happen.
Again nothing happened. She looked into the mirror and dropped it. 7 years bad luck for a pointless homework assignment. She grabbed a piece up off of the courtyard ground and put it in her pocket. She casted a repairo charm on. She had to go find some where to hang it up at.

That's just me," Justine added with a little smirk. Tiger had seemingly bored of swatting weeds and flowers and was now pressing himself against his owners legs and watching the two girl's with large, curious eyes.

Without realising it, Adi had walked out into the Courtyard. He wasn't standing really that much in it, just at the edge as he just stepped off the corridor. He was frowning down at his crystal which had refused to budge except whenever the gentle breeze hit it. Then it would sway a little to the sides.
Adi took a couple more deep breaths, shoving any distractions out of his mind. "Where is my watch?" he thought with utmost confidence. He watched the crystal intently, keeping the question resounding in his head. You can point the way on the map now, Mr Crystal.

He had received an owl a few days ago from his mother informing him something not so happy. Since then, he could hardly sleep and he was awfully tired. He sighed, staring off at the fountain and beginning to space out.

Book in hand, Lux skipped to the courtyard. She wanted to finally complete the novel she had started what felt like ages ago. Once she was finished reading she could continue discussing the series with Jun. This was going to be so much fun.
Making her way over to one of the benches, she was pleased to see Dylan already seated on it until she noticed how terrible he looked. "What's wrong?" she asked with concern as she took a seat beside him. It looked like he hadn't slept properly in days.

Clara sighed unhappily, letting her right arm swing naturally back and forth while the other had a small Latin book tucked under it. Although the walk from the castle down to the courtyard was fairly short, it was still long enough for unwanted thoughts to circle her brain again. She didn't want to think about OWLs right now, or Phoenix, or Gabe, or ..... anything, really.
She just wanted to read.
Before too long she'd found a comfortable place to sit and read - just in the shade, but still nice and warm and tucked away out of sight. She folded her legs beneath herself before flipping open the first page. She had probably read the book in excess of ten times but there was something so calming and ... familiar about it that she always had the urge to read it again.
So she did, and as the minutes flew by and the pages turned she gradually forgot her worries.

Gabriel...had finally been able to work some things out (SHOCKER!!). Things of a personal nature. Zahra. Potions class. CB......Clara.....but in regards to that last, he needed to get something off his chest. Which meant...he'd have to speak with her.
...Not that that was so terrifying. They'd been doing homework together for the past month...and Gabe had even invited her upfront to do Runes with him...but he'd avoided any talk of...that.
That...which could not be named.
Things were different now, though...and it had to be cleared up...before moving forward. See, he wanted to remain friends with Clara...if they could, because Clara wasn't a bad person. Gabe couldn't help but think she had some sort of...uh, crush? on him, though. Perhaps he was reading too much into events...but it seemed that way.
"Clara." He was still very spineless, thank you very much...but CB gave him some strength on this. If she weren't in the picture, this talk wouldn't have been happening. "Can....I bother you....a moment?"

"My sister, Lydia, is gone... disappeared. They said they went to wake her a week or so ago and she wasn't there. They searched the whole woods. The house. Everywhere. No sign. It's just so weird. I don't understand why..." he sighed, putting his head into his hands. He really didn't understand. What could have happened? He knew she couldn't run away, ever. She wasn't one to do that...

Lux hadn't meant to startle Dylan, but at least he didn't seem too put off judging by the fact that he smiled at her. He sure was fidgety though.
It didn't take long to find out what was wrong, and feeling bad she pulled her friend into a hug. "I am so sorry." She had met his sister last summer and she was a nice girl. It was hard to believe that she was missing. Hopefully nothing bad had happened to her "I wish I could help." If there was anything she could do for him and his family...
She would keep her fingers crossed that Lydia would return soon.

The sixteen-year-old extended her hand to the kitty and scratched under his chin. "He'll probably smell Daisy on me--was just feeding her--" she said with a shrug. "What are YOU doing out here? You don't seem the outside type." more like...inside with lots of spotlights and cameras type. Maybe on a STAGE...dancing...perhaps? "I'll have to come see your perform this summer--if I can--" probably lots of money was involved with that, but she did plan on getting a job this summer! And she was hoping Iwin would help and all. Heh.
She pulled her hand away from Tiger before he decided to change his mind and NOT want her pets--she didn't need cat-bites.

Angel decided to see if her Keychain was in the courtyard since it wasn't at the lake... the Professor had been mean to not give her a single clue but she wasn't going to give in this easily... she didn't want Benny thinking she couldn't look after special gift that he had given her and she was still upset she had brought it... she had thought about bringing something else to the class that her mother had given her but this was the most important thing so she had brought this.
Angel looked at the Crystal in her hand. "Is my good luck dragon Keychain around here." Angel looked and prayed that the Crystal would go around in a circle but it didn't. "O__________o You..." Angel was getting a bit angry but managed to keep calm and not throw the crystal on the floor and leave the place.
Angel then blushed a bit as she thought of a question she could have asked early. "I'm so thick." Angel sighed. "is the keychain outside?" Angel watched as the crystal moved but not in a circle... so it wasn't outside then, well that was totally a wasted trip outside... why she hadn't asked that in the first place she had no idea.

Unfortunately for Clara, her peace was going to last.
After very few minutes a voice cut into the silence. Gabe's voice. Instantly, her head shot up and she squinted at him. Her face must've been a picture of emotions in that moment - confusion, anger, curiosity, happiness, hurt - but she settled on curiously and raised her eyebrow very slightly. "Gabe," she ventured cautiously, "I ... suppose so."
He already had but she wasn't about to point that out.

Dylan leaned into his friend as she hugged him. It really did help, Dylan loved hugs. They were very comforting, especially coming from good friends like Lux. "Thank you," he said. "I-I'm sure she'll be fine...my dad is getting people involved to help and stuff..." he said. He wasn't sure if he was trying to reassure Lux or more himself by saying this. But after saying that, it did reassure himself a little bit.
A moment of silence went by and Dylan decided to break it. He didn't want to ruin poor Lux's day with all his sadness after all. Perhaps they could change the subject? "Enough about me," he began, shifting where he sat. "How are you doing?"
