Leaving the courtyard corridor, you will find yourself in an enclosed, squared courtyard. It is covered with bright green grass with various plants placed around the stone walls. This is the perfect place for meeting friends, or a chance of fresh air whilst catching up with your homework. There are plenty of stone benches placed around the area, too!
To be honest, the only reason Grayson was out here in the courtyard was because of how great it felt to be outdoors at Hogwarts. Not because of the weather -- which was surprisingly nice, especially for a day in September up north. Suspicious? He was.
Grayson strutted his way over towards an empty bench and sat down with as much suave as he could muster. He didn't have much on him; no homework, no books, nothing that was considered BORING, in fact. All he carried around in his leisurely walk was a large packet of Bertie Botts beans that he proceeded to rip open. A bean was taken out, tossed up in the air and...........
................... bounced off of his face and onto the floor.
"Freaking son of a snitch!" Was he NEVER going to get this right?!
Rubbing the side of his nose was currently happening, obscuring his vision from whoever was nearby. Were there kids nearby? Were they about to hear his mutterings of words he would NOT say in front of his mother? Did he even care?
The last one was a good ol' solid no.
Rub rub.
So... outside. Phe liked being outside. He'd been exploring for a while now, and was on his way back in, for some food or something, when he got to the courtyard. Hmmmmm. He took a few steps in, before he heard someone swear. "You alright?" He looked over towards the sound and...
Holy Hot Guy, Batman. Why was this school full of attractive people? It was so distracting. Phoenix's mouth twitched into a slight smirk at the edges and he wandered towards the guy. "Jelly bean troubles?"
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

Angel watched as Kevin dropped the ball. "I'll get it." Angel ran over and picked up the ball before passing it back to Kevin. "Hey Kevin, I'm great at throwing a ball you know." Angel didn't want to boast but her sister had taught her because she loved baseball, so Angel just normally threw the ball for her sister to bat and she had got pretty good at it.
Kevin really didn't get why people liked to talk about that kind of stuff. What was it called? Small talk...it was just stupid but if Angel wanted to he would just give an answer just to get over it. "Alright, it was stupid... my parents grounded me for half the summer because of my *attitude* or whatever that means" he rolled his eyes. "I couldn't even play basketball at the playground" Which wasn't his favourite sport btw, he was just okay in it. HIS sport was Football~
When Angel came back with the ball, Kevin held out his hand to take it back when she started to speak again. "Okay, lets see how good you are" he grinned and got up from the bench and walked a bit further away. "Throw it!" he called.

He could help with that...
'You alright?'
The words rang in his ears, sure, but Grayson brushed it aside because OBVIOUSLY, it was meant to be for someone that was in actual trouble. Someone who had done something freaking foolish and tripped over along the corridor before falling flat on their face. Lulz. Always a comedy gold, that was.
It wasn't until he heard the voice speaking again, this time closer towards him, that he stopped rubbing and peeked at.........
................. Afro. That was the first thing he saw. One giant head of curls.
"Duuuuuuuude! Your HAIR." How did it DO that, exactly? Was he using special potions? HMMMMM? Not that he cared about hair as much as he did about smirks. A good smirk said a lot about a person so either this one was one to watch out for orrrrrrrr one to keep around. "You could say that," he said, smirking in return, "Want one of these bad boys?" He wiggled the packet towards the unknown kid with the giant hair.
Ultimate test, too. Only lame-os decided not to take any because they were 'disgusting' or whatever.

Angel looked at Kevin as he spoke, well he did have sort of an attitude problem but she didn't want to say anything to him about that so she just listen in silence as he told her about his summer and being grounded, she would hate to be grounded for the whole summer.
Angel then watched as he got up and walked over to another place before he told her to throw the ball, was he being serious, well she would only find out by doing what he said, she concentrated really hard and then she throw it hard and fast towards Kevin, just like she would when she was playing baseball, she hated batting but being the pitcher well that was amazing and Angel loved doing that.

Yes, that was definitely the right answer to his question. To any question in fact. Phoenix's hair was an important aspect of anybody's life. "I know, right? It's made of unicorn hiccups." He sat down next to the guy and fluffed the curls out a little bit. "Wanna touch it?" It was soft. He wouldn't regret it.
Ah. So he WAS having jelly bean troubles. What a shame. "Sure!" Phe grabbed a jelly bean from the packet, tossed it in the air and grabbed it in his mouth in one. He could do that. MHMM. He'd practiced a bit... with various people. Y'know. Cause stuff. Fun. That nonsense. "Thanks. Cherry." Cherry flavour. He wasn't calling the guy a cherry.
"I'm Phoenix by the way."What's your name, pretty boy?
She smiled, that's good that he was doing well. "We had a party as well, Thorton is interesting, showed him the wonders of peach rings!" she exclaimed, "come lay down with me then!" She patted the ground next to her. "I've met a few first-years, a few seconds and a bunch of others. The other claws are terribly nice," she exclaimed. "I've found this room, up by astronomy and they have this piano. I love the room," she explained. "I wish we were in the same house," she sighed.
The curly haired boy laughed slightly. "Of course they don't have peach rings" he commented, shaking his head mockingly before listening to her again. Although he was quite comfortable sitting, he couldn't really think of a reason to argue with her and just lay down on the ground beside her.
"That sounds great... my sisters would love it, they all play the piano" which was true to some extent, though their ability varied greatly. While the youngest banged on the keys randomly, giggling at the sounds as she tried to imitate her older sisters the twins were both quite talented. "So do I... it'd be pretty cool if we were" and it would be, they'd be able to spend more time together, have the same common room.
But they didn't... at least they were still able to see each other outside of the common rooms.

She nodded at the peach ring comment, "peach ring?" she asked as she brought out a bag of them. "Sisters? How many?" she asked, she couldn't remember if she had already asked this or not, "can you play?" She smiled looking at the clouds above. Oh, she wish she was with him. "At least we aren't that far apart, your tower is by ours right?" she asked. "You ready for classes to being?" she asked, "I hope we see each other!"

"Thank you" he said with a smile as he took one of the offered peach rings. He couldn't imagine why anyone would ever choose not to accept one of them. They were amazing. Not as amazing as tea, but still amazing.
"Four" he answered with a grin as he thought about them. "Three brothers, I'm the oldest. Have you got siblings?" he continued thinking about his half-siblings. "Not really... I can play about 2 or 3 songs... I learnt the guitar instead. You? he said with a slight grin. He enjoyed it a bit more. He could take his instrument with him wherever he was, which he found more convenient.
"Yeah... Gryffindor tower is quite close to the Ravencaw tower" he commented with a smile. "Yeah... from what the older kids told me the classes sound like they're going to be amazing so I'm really looking forward to them? What about you? What are you most looking forward to? What do you think you'll be best at? Wow he'd finished with a lot of questions but oh well.

Mitchell laughed. "My eyes aren't blonde." he replied. Was she making him a mustache with her hair? He couldn't decide if it was more cute or more ticklish.
He also didn't really understand the concept of matching.
"How do I look?" with her hair being his mustache. Probably weird because his hair was darker than hers. If he had a mustache, he would not dye it blonde. Just sayin'.

"You look handsome as ever." But her hair really added to it, so there. She grinned and wiggled her hair around under his nose.

Unicorn hiccups.
Unicorn. Hiccups.
Either the kid was serious or he was trying to pull a fast one on him. "Now you're just showing off," he said, dramatically rolling his eyes but giving him a half-smile half-smirk, all the same, at the fluffing action. DID he wanna touch it? Sweet. MERLIN!
"Dude, what do you put in your hair? Why's it so soft?" Was it natural? It seemed way too good to be natural.
How.
hOW.
HOW.
"How in the name of Merlin did you manage to do that?!" First the hair and now the jelly bean trick. It was as if he was TRYING to upstage Grayson. "I've been trying for freaking DAYS and it bounces off my face and gives me a heart attack." Dramatic. "Do you know how freaking annoying that is?" Having a bean constantly fall on you.

Four siblings? Wow. That was a lot. "Wow, I don't even have one! How old are they?" she asked out of curiosity, "I always wanted a sibling!" She had forgotten about the guitar on the train! "Oh! Yeah, I forgot. You were playing on the train. You have to play for me sometime! I play the piano."
She nodded about the classes. "I am really looking forward to potions and astrology. I met the astrology teacher, he is really nice!" she exclaimed, remembering his polite conversations. "I think I'm going to do pretty good at potions, I was good at science back at home, it can't be too much different, you know? What about you?" she responded, looking at the cloud and she spotted one, "that looks like a dragon!" she pointed at one of the clouds above them.

"The twins are 8, triplets are 4, Clara's 5 and Adele is two" he said with a grin. He lived in a fairly crazy household, that was probably why he spent so much time out with friends while he was still there. Now he didn't have to worry about any of that. "Siblings are great until you have them" he joked, laughing slightly, although it was partly true.
Sometimes he hated having them around.
At the mention of playing the guitar he grinned sheepishly, before scratching the back of his neck. "I'm not really that good, but I will... under one condition" he finished with a large grin on his face. He'd make her play for him too.
Mwahahahahahaha!!!
Ooooh she'd met Professor Flamsteed. He was a funny one. Leo grinned just remembering how confused the professor had left him after meeting him once. "Yeah he's pretty awesome" he commented. "Well... I suppose Muggle Studies would be easiest for us because we should know all of the stuff I guess... but as for something new... I suppose History of Magic... I always loved history and this will be stuff that we've never heard of before... I'm not too sure about the actual classes like Divination and Transfiguration though because... well I read through the books but I couldn't make much sense of it" she'd understand that wouldn't she?
She should...
"It does" he said with a smile. "And over there, that one looks like a horse" he said pointed at another one, and it sort of did. The head was there, and the body a bit.

She wasn't sure, she just wanted a sibling in general. "When I heard you, you were really good Leo!" she exclaimed. A condition? "What's the condition?" she asked, he had better not want anymore peach rings, she was all out at the moment.
Muggle studies would be extremely easy for them. So, history? That was awesome, she never really had the patience for all of it, but the interesting parts were just dandy. "I think with transfiguration, it's more about theory than anything." she said with a shrug, "but I'm not sure about the Divination class. I never really like horoscopes or anything."
She faintly saw the horse, and then looked again, "that looks like an owl," she sighed, closing her eyes, basking in the sun.
Isla tried to look down at Paloma's notes and couldn't even read parts of them either. "Yeah, maybe you were half asleep because I can't even tell if this is English or not." She shook her head. She glanced back down at it again and still couldn't figure it all out. She had days like that though. When something was on her mind or she was just plain tired, she could be in class, but not actually paying attention. Those days were the worst.
The brunette watched as Paloma closed her books and notes and was about to ask why she didn't keep studying but decided against it. It was good not to study just yet...right? "Hmm...just trying to get over stuff I guess." She shrugged. "Mainly eating donuts and wandering around. How about you, dear Paloma?" She said, mimicking Paloma's 'dear' phrase. She then watched as Paloma's gaze wasn't even at her but at something else. Isla looked down and saw a cat who didn't seem to like her because it looked like it was going to attack. She scooted a little bit away and laughed. "Is this your cat?"
Paloma looked back at her notes and chuckled. "Yeah, half of it is in Spanish, so...yeah, I was making absolutely no sense when writing them. Definitely, not thinking." Although, as she had compared some of them, they linked to a possible paragraph to the book she was reading that night. Something that Isla could understand, right?
Getting over stuff... Paloma raised her eyebrow and looked back at Isla. "Like...what you told me about your owl...and...?" Yeah, she was curious about the other stuff Isla would talk to her about. After all, they were becoming good friends; the kind of friends that would trust each other with their problems...to have some empathy with...
"And eating donuts, could probably be the best thing you could do around here. I certainly miss the fresh sweet bread from home..." Which her mother made, but couldn't send her because it'd arrive all icky and not so sweet after such a windy trip from Spain.
She laughed at Isla mimmicking her, shrugging. "I guess I'm alright. Balancing classes, and some of my practice time...eating cotton candy..." She said, pulling a big bag of the delicious treat from her backpack.
With a nod, she assented that the vicious cat close to Isla was HERS. "Yep, that's...Vader. Darth Vader..." She wriggled her eyebrows and took the cat in her arms. "Don't worry, if he wanted to attack you, he would've done it by now..." True that....

Of course he was showing off. He was a show off. It's what he DID. Phoenix just grinned at the guy, and let him fluff the glorious cloud that was his curly lion's mane.
SEE! "I mean, it's soft anyway, but I use this conditioner potion thing... it's really good." He'd totally share his secrets if he wanted them. Everyone deserved hair as glorious as his. Hair was important.
Though of course, nobody was ever going to achieve this amount of perfect. But there you go.
"People throw stuff at me a lot. Sometimes it's food. You learn not to let things go to waste." Phe shrugged a little, still feeling kinda smug he'd caught it. "It's all about coordination. You've gotta watch it and kinda guess where it's going to land." And if you were throwing it yourself it helped. But he didn't mention that cause the boy seemed to be having trouble anyway.
Ha!"Epic name for an epic person." Phoenix winked, then laughed a bit. "Grayson's a cool name too." In fact, everyone round here had cool names, pretty much. Way more awesome names than half of his muggle friends anyway.
It was time to read, but it was also beautiful outside so Vinnie decided to go read in the courtyard for a change. Usually she'd go to the lake but today she didnt feel like going too far. Also, the courtyard was the perfect place intbetween inside and outside. Just what she needed today. And if she felt like a hot chocolate the kitchen wasnt that far away.
Making her way outside the brunette couldnt help but smile. This term had started sooo differently already, it was gonna be a good one. As she arrived she spotted the empty bench on the right immediately. Perfect, sunny but a little sheltered. The Slytherin walked a little faster, as it seemed to be a bit crowded today and no one was allowed to steal that spot.
This was perfect.Sighing happily Vinnie sat down and opened her book.

Another awesome day so you wouldn't find Adi inside today. He really didn't have nothing to do right now so he just decided to clear his head a bit. So much had happened in the short time that he had returned to Hogwarts. Good and bad stuff. But he was dwelling on the good. And it made him extra happy.
Humming to himself, the Puffer made his way to the Courtyard. He liked the place with the plants, just brightening up everything. And the benches. Mhmm. Maybe he could just sit at one and enjoy the weather. Yup. He would do just that.

"That's fine. You could always come up to the innovation lounge, it has a piano in it. Very useful," she suggested. She found it cute what he did for his sisters, "that's very sweet of you Leo." Flying. Quidditch, from what she had read, seemed fun as long as you weren't actually playing. "Quidditch seems okay, but it's the flying that I'm afraid of doing, I am okay with heights but the fear of falling. I don't ever want to fall," she said.

Adi was thinking that maybe he could lie right on the bench and take a nap. The breeze would make it quite easy to fall asleep. But before he could settle on a decision, he heard a voice. It was familiar. Turnung his head, he came face to face with Abby.
"Oh, hey Abby,'' Adi replied, smiling a bit. He didn't want to appear rude but after what he heard she did to Angel and that she had took Ian's side, he couldn't help himself but feel a little resentful towards her. "Of course you can. How's it going?'' Apologised to your sisters yet?

Abby smiled at Adi "It is going okay, how are things going with you?" Abby knew that she had to avoid losing any more points during the rest of the year
"That's fine.
"I'll make sure to do that sometime, and convince you to play for me while I'm at it of course" he teased, a smile n his face.
"Well Quidditch is played on brooms... so I'm guessing learning how to fly would come first..." he commented with a shrug. "The teachers would make sure that you wouldn't get hurt". He was relatively sure of that, they all seemed to care... although... most of them seemed to be kids themselves. Oh well. "I don't really mind heights that much, they're good for an adrenaline rush" he commented, thinking about some of the really stupid things he'd done as part of parkour.

She was happy that he would play for her, she knew he was fantastic. She hoped he wouldn't be too disappointed, she typically messed up or lost track of time while playing.
It wasn't getting hurt that scared her, she was quite clumsy and flying around and being clumsy didn't seem to add up. She shrugged, "well, then if you think it's interesting, go out for quidditch. I can watch from the sidelines, I'm more than content to do that," she told him with a laugh.
