The Hogwarts staff are already seated when you enter the end of term feast. Their traditional place is at a long table on a raised dais at the back of the Great Hall, with the usual Hogwarts crest hanging behind them and looking particularly nice tonight.
Feel free to come up and give your greetings to the School staff after the Headmistress has given her end-of-term speech. Remember your manners, children. Your professors like to have a quiet dinner too.
Botros was seated in his usual chair with a folder in front of him, he had parchments laid out in front of him and a little to the side covering professor Flamsteed's utensils. The runic spell that was going to keep the book dormant was ready. He pulled it off in five days and was thinking of maybe teaching it to the kids. A good, nice, runes lecture before food, he would've liked that, even as a young man.
Anyway. Now, he just sat there with his parchments and smiled at the students filing in to the Great Hall.

Anastasia was here, she was actually in a good mood for now, and she was looking forward to one last QUIET meal with the students before break.
A good, long, warm, and normal summer break. AHHH. It was relaxing just to imagine it in her head. She was going to get Davie into gardening, she was going to put Gingersnapple on a diet, she was going to get to see her husband EVERY DAY and she was going to read several books just for pleasure and not for academics.
And then the students came in. Despite being a Hufflepuff at heart, the Headmistress truly was looking forward to a feast not won by her former House or her second favorite House. She might have even been keeping a congratulatory eye out on the Gryffindor table, in fact.... which was precisely why she noticed the commotion and stood up right away.
"Oh no," she murmured, still murmuring to herself as she hastily shoved her chair away from the table and took off down the dais. "No no no no no NO, we are NOT HAVING THAT right now." The Headmistress was in the Hall. Watch out, lads, lasses, and wannabe lassies.

Another year, another Leaving Feast. How had the time passed so quickly? It felt like just yesterday herself and the Headmistress were running for their lives away from a giant sinkhole on the pitch, eons ago that she was merely in charge of the flying program. Tiara had enjoyed her leadership role with Ravenclaw immensely, and she was pleased to discover that she was up to the challenge of taking over a subject midterm that was in disarray.
But now all that was behind her and it was time to celebrate. Except.. she wasn't exactly sure where to sit. As the flying professor she had occupied the seat right next to Anastasia for formal feasts. But she knew that the arithmancy professor's customary seat was next to Abraham down on the end. She looked up at the table for the first time and saw that Anastasia and Abraham were the only ones present. But he'll be alone down there with Domingo gone. That settled the matter. She made her way over and sat down next to the man. Anastasia could deal! "Good evening, Abraham. I trust you are well?"

It all felt so surreal as Josephina entered the Great Hall for what felt like the millionth time, walking up towards the Staff Dias. She gazed around the Hall at the students, her hazel eyes lingering for just a bit longer than usual on her Hufflepuffs. If she had it her way, she would take them all. They say it's difficult seeing your children grow up; she's seen them - many of them and it's even harder knowing you have to leave some of them behind.
After a good minute or two, with a heavy heart, the muggle studies professor took her seat for the last time. But just as she was about to speak to the Headmistress it seemed she was leaving? Hmph. Well then she was just going to think about her future, which she'd been doing a lot lately anyway...

End of year feast it was always sooo exciting and this year was no different. Though the blonde spent ages looking in her closet for something to wear. Her office looked like a dressing room with all the outfits all over the place, she just couldn't figure out what to wear. She wanted something special so of course it was her signature color. Cassie checked her watch and made her way into the feast. Seeing some other staff there she took note that Tiara was sitting in her new subject seat. This made one less seat between her and a certain person on the other end. hehe
As she walked around the table she beamed, "Hellllo everyone." Beaming towards Abe and Tiara. "I hope you both have had a wonderful day." It was such an ah-mazing time and sh ehad just been having a great last few days. Seeing Josaphina at the other end she gave her a wave then looked to Annie, but wait she the red head was on the move.
Where was the.. oh, well this was interesting. The blonde sat down in her seat setting her Kitty purse under the table and sat to look around the Hall.
Botros was seated in his usual chair with a folder in front of him, he had parchments laid out in front of him and a little to the side covering professor Flamsteed's utensils. The runic spell that was going to keep the book dormant was ready.
Walking into the Great Hall Leo eyes immediately darted over to the eagle table where some students had already found their seats including the ever loud Eden McGee. He’d visit the eagles later in the evening. The curly librarian made his way up on the dais to where Abraham was sitting. "Good evening Abraham, have you finished the runic ward for the book yet?" Leo didn’t mind keeping the book safe in the library but it needed to be delivered to the ministry sooner rather than later.

Leo turned his attention to the woman seated next to Abraham saying "Good evening Tiara, will you accompany me down to the Ravenclaw table after Annie has given her speech?" And give the eagles some love and appreciation for all the hard work and house points they had earned throughout the term plus they had a final golden eagle award to give out. It seemed fitting if they announced that together.

Leaving Abraham and Tiara he made his way past a few empty seats to where Cassie was sitting in a pink summery dress. Beaming warmly Leo greeted her. "Good evening Cassie. You look very pretty tonight." Yes that she did. "Thanks for helping me the other day with tidying up the library after the book meeting and encounter with flying carpets, pixies and whatnot."

Walking down to the other end of the table, Leo circuled and slipped down into his seat next to Josephina. Touching her arm gently to get her attention he said "Good evening Fina, is something on your mind?" She looked troubled and lost in her own thought's.

Andrew wasn't going to lie and say that the year went by so fast and he didn't feel it. It didn't, and he felt it all. Surprisingly it wasn't bad and he was glad he took the decision to take the opportunity and come here. Despite the bizarre events that took place, he knew it could have been lots worse. So he was satisfied with the way everything got resolved. Although he was sure he wasn't going to ever read a book that was just laying by. Ever.
The Herbologist made his way to the table with a hand in his pocket and the other hanging by his side. Before occupying his seat he made sure to nod politely at each and everyone of his colleagues. "Good day to you all," He greeted then slipped behind the table were he belonged. He cast a look over the tables and noticed the Headmistress heading to the lions' table. Eh, couldn't those just sit without making scenes and drama? He knew the answer very well.

Well, this was bittersweet. He knew it would be, but he knew the sweet outweighed the bitter and it would even more over time. Piers scanned his eyes over the rambunctious students in the great hall and extended his arm to reach for Javy's hand under the table.
Movement down the table caught his attention and he noticed Leo and Cassie chatting. He shook his head with a sigh. He still found that pairing unusual, but hey... wasn't his love life.
He gave a nod to both of them and then another to Andy. He'd have to see them before he went. His eye then caught Truebridge heading to the chaos at the Gryffindor table. Ah... Somethings about Hogwarts, he would miss. Other things... not so much.

... Abraham was indeed accustomed to being alone at this end of the table with Flamsteed chatting up with the CoMC professor and taking care of his rock girl. But now that Professor Tanner decided to take her deserved seat next to him, his face lit up and he nodded back at the woman. "Evening, dear. I am great, thank you. Done my work on the runic ward for the book." He patted the mess of parchments in front of him. "Excited for summer?"

There were certain thoughts didn't need to be expressed vocally in Javier's mind as he was sitting. It was the last feast for some as his eyes were scanning around the Great Hall at the house tables. Gryffindor's only needed a glance as he saw Annie over there. His right elbow was leaning on the table to support his knuckles balancing his own chin. His other hand was resting on his own knee before he felt another hand enclose it.
Finally turning his head, he glanced over at Piers but not before seeing two of his friends a little further down. The corner of his lip moved upward into a small smirk. "They look good together, don't they?" He was now looking forward to the summer.

Dear. She was still young enough to be considered a 'dear' by Abraham. That made her feel good about herself and she chuckled slightly. "Oh, excellent! It's still behaving calmly, I assume, or we would have heard Anastasia running around in high dudgeon about it." That was her word of the day, dudgeon, and she was thrilled to get to use it! "It's a good thing we have such an expert in runes around here or I'm not sure what we would have done. Just hoped and prayed for the thing to show up and stay put, no doubt." But it was best not to dwell on 'what ifs' in her experience. "But yes, the holiday will do me wonders, I think. I'm planning on digging in deep to some books and researching new topics for Arithmancy next term. How about yourself?"

Ah, Leobald. She had grown a newfound respect for the man over the course of the last year. "But of course, Leobald. It will be my pleasure." He no doubt was thinking of some last minute awards that needed to be given.

Well. Annie was DONE with those Gryffindors now, thank you very much, and looking forward to resuming her throne chair at the feast. To be frank, she was glad Tiara had chosen to sit beside Abraham rather than herself, and was even more pleased to see that the Healer wasn't here yet.
Wonderful. The redhead returned to the table and sat down with a small sigh, deciding to pour herself a glass of water before she would give her speech. She sipped it slowly and looked around the hall, hopefully not seeing any more uniform violators...

Gazing down the long table, Josephina caught the wave from the friendly blond. She was definitely going to miss the bubbly personalities of some of her colleagues. And even the non-bubbly ones. She was just going to miss everyone. She gave a small return wave towards the Divination professor.

She turned her head at the touch of her neighboring coworker and smiled softly at him. "Evening Leo. Always. Something is always on my mind." But as for this something, well it was very sentimental being in the Great Hall that evening. After all she had over twenty years of memories (if one counted her time as a student)

Ah he had survived his first year and seemed mostly unscathed. Josephina leaned around Leo to offer Seren's replacement the Herbologist a warm smile. "Evening, Andrew. How was your first year?"

But just then she noticed Anastasia had returned to her seat in the middle. Well it was now or never and if she didn't do it now she might not grasp the courage to do so (which might not be a bad thing except it sort of would?). Murmuring a brief excuse me to Leo and Andrew she pushed back from her chair and took Tanner's old seat momentarily.
"Sorry to bother you, but well," she paused, speaking in a low voice to the Headmistress, clutching her handbag carefully before opening it and removing a pale pink envelope. "I think you're all too familiar with these." She bit her lower lip before handing her the envelope. "Thank you, for everything." Sure Annie hadn't been the one to hire her, or give her Head of House, but she had allowed her to keep her job and had given her an opportunity to teach Muggle Studies.

She blinked and looked over at her Housemate, who was talking unusually somberly and quietly. And then she was passing Annie an envelope, a lovely pink one which could only mean one thing. "Oh, Fina," the redhead sighed as her she clutched the envelope. Gosh, losing ANOTHER staffer. But this one had been here for eons! decades!
"Hogwarts will miss you," she said simply, looking out at the tables and then back to the Hufflepuff Head of House. "But thank YOU for your years of service; truly, it's been a pleasure." She awkwardly patted the other woman on the arm, not being very good at these... comforting...things.

He was complimenting her, eeeep! Her extra time and mess in her office was a success!! "Why thank you, you look very nice yourself." Of course he did! "Oh it was nothing, I enjoy helping out in the library and helping you." She glanced at the empty seat between her and the headmistress, would Annie mind she wondered for a moment. "Would you like to sit for a few before you head to your end of the table?" Only if he wanted of course, but she'd love for him to stay and chat.

She couldn't help but beam at the compliment, "Thank you, I do love to wear my signature color." Pink was such a happy color. "Ooooh that's wonderful." yes she got snaps for a good day. Looking at Professor Botros to answer, she hoped he was having a good day as well, though seeing the papers on the table she wasn't so sure, but maybe it was something he was enjoying. "How did you like teaching lessons?" She knew she had taken over half way through and it was still so unfortunate what happened to Lolita, but she hoped the previous flying professor enjoyed her new subject.

Yes as she figured, Annie recognized the envelope all to well what it symbolized without even reading it. But it was a lovely letter once the redhead got the moment to read it.
She nodded, looking out towards her house table. "Likewise, very much so. I'll miss my badger babies too." Fina nodded, watching them and noting how she had to give them a final message. Something beyond what she told the yearbook editor. Something they can hear, not read. But she should probably wait for the final speech before heading down to say her goodbyes.
She looked back at her housemate when she patted her arm. "Good luck." And she should get up and wander back to her seat now. Because this was oh-so-awkward.

And realizing her proximity to the young blond, she figured she ought to properly say something to her. Especially considering how she had watched the whole exchanged. "Be good, Cassie. You'll take take of them, won't you?" she inclined her head toward the sea of yellow and black. As a Hufflepuff, no matter ones position, it was a duty to look after one's own.
She patted the blond's arm once or twice before rising.

"Evening, Cassie," the Headmistress returned the Divination professor's greeting with one of her own. She would talk more, maybe ask about her kitten bag, but... well, Fina.
Fina Fina Fina. "Don't forget to say goodbye to them," Annie murmured as she also glanced to the Hufflepuffs, "...after the speech though. Speaking of, it's high time we got this feast started."
She stood up at the same time Josephina headed back to her end of the table, and moved around to her usual spot for her speech. The redhead magnified her voice, started with a general, "Good evening," and then waited for silence to fall.
"Good evening," she repeated. "Welcome to the conclusion of the 2084-2085 school year. Congratulations are in place for Gryffindor, as they won both the Gobstones Championship AND the House Cup. Please applaud these high-achieving lions."
She paused for applause, applause, applesauce applause, determined to keep her remarks brief. The thought of applesauce now made her hungry.
"To those of you leaving us, for whatever reason: Hogwarts wishes you well in your future endeavors. Know that you will always have this place to call home. And with that, let us eat in peace and have a safe summer."
She clasped her hands together and the elf-made food magically appeared on the tables. Ah, such a nice sight. Annie smiled to herself and made her way back to her table. Some staffers from her end were still missing, if one truly missed them... Cossy was at a potions conference, she knew that, and Bellaire she had seen sitting with the Slytherins...whatever that was about... but Murdoch? Where was she? Did it matter? Eh.

It has made me feel a bit uneasy to be honest."And that was saying a lot when Leo worked with books for a living. "We’re delivering the book to Mr Mitterbill, the Mysteries Department Head."

They had to boost the eagle's confidence, give them some love and appreciation for all their hard work. They really deserved it. They had almost finished in second place.

Only if he wanted of course, but she'd love for him to stay and chat.
"Oh, thank you." He murmured. Leo hadn’t really put down that much effort on his appearance. He had just put on an outfit that had felt comfortable. With a glance over at Annie he said to Cassie "I really want to sit down and chat with you but I’d best not." There was no sense in causing some potential drama at the end of the year feast. "I'll come by and see you before I leave tomorrow." And then they'd meet at the music festival.

Pouring himself a cup of pumpkin juice Leo turned his attention to Fina once more. Furrowing his brows he asked. "Something you’d like to share with me? I'm known for being a good listener." He winked. If Fina didn't want to talk about it he wouldn’t push it. At least he offered. The ball was in her court so to speak.
Leo listened in silence as Annie stood up and gave a short and snappy speech. As the food arrived he filled his plate and dug in.
So her fellow staff members were finally beginning to arrive. Good. It couldn't be a feast without participants, after all. "Hello yourself, Cassiopeia, you're looking well. And my day has been fine, though I dare not speak for Professor Botros here."

Botros' thin, fair, wrinkly skin gained some color at professor Tanner's praise. "Aw, I thank you. It is the effort everyone else put together that I managed to focus and do my job." He patted her arm, and started gathering his parchments as professor Morgan approached them. Smiles for her, she was a very nice little lady.
"It's been great for me, too. I don't mind keeping busy." He tucked his folder aside and let the ladies talk a bit before interjecting with his summer plans. "Back home with the family." Simply put!

It was speech time, finally. This time she didn't have to mourn anyone, thank Merlin, so it was pretty concise and pleasant. Botros clapped for Gryffindor and then wasted no time digging into his food, mhmmmm.

[/QUOTE]
Lifting her eyes lifting to Fina, she didn't mean to ease drop, but without Tiara there in the seat between the Headmistress and herself it was easier to see and hear things. She gave an encouraging smile and some snaps to Fina, "Oh I'll try, but Fina, Gosh! You are ah-mazing!!! You will be so missed here." Standing she gave the woman a hug. "Please stay in touch." She just hated goodbyes.
Greens eyes looking out at the badgers she gave a bigger smile. She was a true badger, she loved her former house, even if she was bigger on school unity, her house would always hold that special place. "Of course we will all look after them. You are leaving them in good hands." Sitting back down in her seat she didn't want to keep Fina any longer then she wanted to be there, she knew she had her own seat and probably the badger table to speak to.

Eh.
Plus it seemed that Annie wanted to get things moving and had stood up for her speech. She listened closely as she spoke of the term and people leaving. She wondered if there were more then just Fina? Maybe she was just speaking of the seventh years, which she would miss many of them. Glancing out to the tables her mind drifted to her own thoughts, but came back as the clapping had started and the food appeared. She snapped joyfully, "Wonderful speech" Now time to eat.

Did he not like the compliment? She wondered a moment, but forgot about it as said about not being able to sit. She kept her smile, though shew as a little disappointed, but she understood. He was a busy man as Head of House and the fact that his seat was way on the other end of the table. "Oh, that sounds lovely. I'll make sure to leave my tea set out of summer storage." They could sit and have some nice tea and chat about the details of their first date. Eeep! She was getting excited just thinking about it.

"Oh that's just wonderful." She beamed and snapped happily. "It's always so great to have a fabtasitc day! I just can't believe we are sitting up here again. I swear this term went by faster then last." Maybe because they weren't freezing and she didn't remember about a month of it. "but soooo many good things coming out of it." Yes, many many good things! Professor Botros should get recognition for the rune he was or maybe even did create. She wondered if that might be the papers he had, but soon decided against asking. "Well you two have a great evening." She beamed once more before making her way down the table.
Nessa had been sitting in her own little world, humming softly to herself as she vaguely watched the interactions at the House tables. A few of the students were rather loud today, but it wasn't unexpected. She remembered fondly her days as a student and how excited she would be for summer break. She was sure little had changed.
Though she was distracted with her own thoughts, Nessa turned her eyes on her tablemates a moment, smiling a bit as she noticed Leo and Cassie talking. She knew they weren't exactly dating yet, but gosh! The thought of what could blossom between the two of them was just too exciting and she beamed widely at them before turning her attention on Annie as she began her speech.
She clapped and clapped proudly for the Gryffindors. That hadn't been her house, but she knew how hard they worked and she was proud of them anyway. But.. leaving? She got the feeling that Annie was talking about more than those graduating and she looked around the table, her brown eyes stopping at Josephina as she heard some murmuring. Was she..? Gasp."Are you leaving?" she asked in a hushed voice as she leaned towards her.
