No one in here to help you out? Why not take a look through old class notes and books that have been left behind by graduating students. There's notes for all subjects from Ancient Runes to Transfiguration lining the bookshelves along the wall. Not only are there notes, there are also old class books with notes written in the margins as well as pertinent information highlighted so it can be easily located.

Not far from the Common Room, Ethan went straight ahead towards the Study Area and duplicated the piece of parchment he got. He got a single sheet out of the pile though, and enlarged it for anyone on the round table to see. He also placed a temporary sticking charm on it.
Now THAT is a huge reminder. Mhm.
SPOILER!!: Extra! Extra!
Quote:
WE ARE AT WAR!
Well, not a war, really…
Nevertheless, my fellow Snakes, the fight for the top spot is on! Last term, our House was short by 87 points against the Gryffindors, and although the house points race proved to be one of the most exciting witnessed in years, we all secretly yearned to win and secure the top spot. Who doesn’t, right? I have to admit though, we put up a good fight last term. But we were only going easy on the competition. This time, we will show ALL the OTHER houses the true power of Slytherin and emerge victorious. The game is afoot!
But before you all head out of the Slytherin Common Room, let me give you some pieces of advice on how to get EXTRA points. First off, did you know that aside from attending classes and doing homework, you can also get credit by practicing at the Dueling Arena? As a Transfer last term, I didn’t know about this until it was a bit too late. And so, everyone is very encouraged to participate. Just remember to READ the RULES FIRST! Rules are important, so keep that in mind. We wouldn’t want to lose just because we were not diligent enough to do so, yes? And if you need a little bit of strategy, come forth and I’ll share some tactics with you.
Secondly, remember your manners. Yes, that’s right, M-A-N-N-E-R-S. Slytherins are known to be sophisticated (in so many ways), but being respectful to your fellow housemates, schoolmates (even if we are “at war” with them), professors, staff, elves, and school property…it sure will go a long way. As an incentive, keep in mind that doing so may nab you extra house points, and every single point counts.
Finally, let me introduce you to your confidant: the NOTICEBOARD. We have our own right here, where professors, staff, and students get to post lesson & homework notices (or posts on items in the lost and found), for everyone to see. Be sure to ALWAYS check it out. Be in the know! We also have the Slytherin Scroll, where Prefect Wayne and I compile everything that goes in the noticeboard for easier reference. Nothing beats organized information!
Now that you know what to look out for, and what to do, let’s work TOGETHER to get as much house points for Slytherin as possible. Remember to have FUN while doing it, okay?
And stay out of trouble! We’ll be watching.
-Ethan M.
Now that he’s got the whole Slytherin Common Room covered, Ethan turned around and headed for the door. A good, heavy breakfast was in order, no?

This book had to be left in the perfect place to be found. Which is the where a bunch of people sat down looking for books. Peter had no idea why.
Books where boring. It was more fun doing things.
But this was the best place besides that room the adults are always coming in and out of. But even with how awesome he was. He was trying to stay out of trouble for now.
So he dropped the awesome book on the table. Maybe he should go outside and do something.
This dungeon was depressing him.

Sneakily following his fellow snake, Dante, Gregoire walked over to the table where he had dropped the book...so this was why he got put in Slytherin. Sometimes he could be a sneaky and sly little bugger. Now then, back to the book. Examining it, Gregoire held it in his hand. This book would be just the thing he needed to read! Maybe there would be more information on this 'Maleficent' person in here. Reading the cover of it he whispered to himself "The Fairy Tale Book of Fairy Tales? Comme c'est estrange."(How odd) Sitting down at that table Gregoire started to flip through the pages one by one, just briefly scanning them. Quickly looking around to see if anyone was there, Gregoire flipped back to the first page and started to read it. Hopefully no one would try to sneak up on him.

Just when he was about to stick the new notice on their Noticeboard, Ethan stopped midway to see an announcement from Healer Murdoch…er…Bellaire? The prefect scrunched up his nose in confusion, because one, the two seemed to be always at each other’s throat, two, why were they not informed of this meeting by their Head of House first? And three...Bellaire and Murdoch?
What?
Only way to find out now is to show up, yeah? Also…why did it sound so threatening? Is this because of the House Points…or something else? Sighing, Ethan placed the CoMC notice on the board, and sauntered over towards the study area. He wasn’t in the mood to talk right now, seeing that he’d grown exhausted from their lessons. The prefect pulled out a chair, sat on it, and opened his Sherlock book as he waited for the others to arrive.

Ahh, the feel of another student's hands on the book brought it back to life. As the boy flipped through the pages, certain illustrations seemed to glow like they were trying to get his attention.
That's right, you know you want to stop and read this story.

Textbooks in one hand and quill and parchment in the other, Sophie headed across the common room toward the study area. She had been procrastinating on her homework long enough, and really HAD to get started on it now. She and homework just didn't work together. Blah.
She had just sat down, when she overheard some boy whispering about a book he was looking through. "Good book?" she asked with a smirk, finding it amusing that anybody could get that excited over a book. It was only in a joking way, though, so she hoped the boy didn't take her too seriously.
The book seemed to glow a little, but Sophie didn't pay it too much attention. Lots of magical books did lots of magical things.

Looking down at the pages of the book, Gregoire seemed to get lost into the story, all the pictures were just so captivating! The golden text was marvelous! Everything about this book was grand! He never wanted to put it down! Gregoire just kept reading it, as his interest grew more and more!
In the back of his head he heard someone say something, but the book was just to amazing! He didn't even pause to listen to the strange voice! His eyes were practically glued onto the book. Wide eyed, flipping pages! This was the best book he has ever read in his entire life! The glow of the book gave it even more of a mystical and magical feel than it already had!
Looking at the pictures, he thought they were real for sure! Just the pure artwork was fabulous! Never, would he ever, let this book from his sight again! Not once!

Dot was meant to be working on her Potions essay, although she was determined to leave it off as long as possible. It wasn't like she hated to dwell on hate, but basically... she thought essays were boring. Deadly dull. And she was hoping to figure out a way to make it more fun.
But she did have plans to sit at the study table with her book open just in case something happened, and so she was thrilled there were already people there. DISTRACTIONS. Hello, distractions.
"That's a baby book," Dot was trying to read it upside down even as she slid into her seat. It was full of pictures, wasn't it, and so it was for little kids. "What're you reading it for?" She reached out and poked at the pretty golden binding with one little freckled finger. Fancy, though. Maybe it was his favorite?

Sophie glanced out the corner of her eye, noticed how DEEPLY in to the book the boy was, and then she rolled her eyes and looked away again. Ravenclaw, that one. Then something occurred to Sophie. He was...okay, wasn't he? Like, he wasn't going to die under her watch, and then she'd be blamed for everything, right?
RIGHT?!
I mean, not that he was under her watch or anything, but she was HERE, and no one else was. Oh. Well, there was somebody else here now, too. HIII, other person! Sophie sat up and took note when the other girl leaned over to poke the book. "Hey, you," Sophie said to the boy. "You okay? Not...dying or anything, right?"
Sophie put her hand on the book and tried to slightly move it down to her viewing level. "What are you reading anyway?" She looked over at the new girl and shrugged. Maybe she thought he was dying or something, too.

Then the book glowed again, and this time, Sophie really took note and book her own textbook aside. Who wanted to read about Ancient Runes when you could read a glowing book?! One that seemed to be calling you?! Sophie leaned over and asked again, "What IS this?" The glowing was just so interesting that she found herself flipping a page and reading just what this fuss was all about.
Aladdin looked around at all the younger kids starting to surround him. This was the perfect opportunity to pickpocket some of these little rascals! After he found his monkey Abu of course. Putting down the book he asked the two of them "Have either of you seen my monkey Abu?" For some strange reason, Aladdin wanted to speak...French? How in the world would he, a teenager from India, know French? That was extremely weird. Now then, back to this monkey business that was happening.
Another thing that was missing that he'd just realized was his Genie! Aladdin couldn't ever go without him! What happens if Jafar came out of the book and into one of them? That would be no good at all! Jafar would surely beat little Aladdin without Genie! Genie was his sidekick, his partner in crime...figuratively speaking at least. Abu of course was his actual partner in crime.
Standing up, Aladdin stretched out his arms! It was good to finally be able to stretch without having to watch out for Jafar, or run from people who knew him as a thief. This might be a new start for him! Though, Aladdin highly doubted that. Knowing him he would go back to his thief ways, after all he was raised on the streets. Where it was you had to stay one jump ahead of the law men, and one swing in front of the sword to remain alive and survive. That's just how he had to live after all. Shrug.

"You can't have monkeys at Hogwarts. Read the rules," Dot scoffed at the kid, thinking he was gonna sneak a monkey past anyone. They were subtle like iguanas or goldfish. People would notice if their bananas started going missing or something. She poked at the binding of the book again, and then again, admiring how shiny it was.
Y'know, actually... she really wanted that big shiny book to read. It reminded her of when her mum... no, her granny... used to sit with her and read her books whenever she was ill as a little girl. Dot put both hands on the book and sliiiiiiiiid it across the table so she could look at it properly, away from the older girl who was being a book hog. Just... there was a story she really wanted to see. What... was... oh, there!
"I need this book. I have to take it right now." The little girl slammed the book shut with a loud clap and tried to slip it under her arm. It was hers. She really really REALLY needed to see her granny. Right now. With the book.

Astronomy homework was calling Caleb's NAME. Unfortunately. Caleb wanted to just sleep and drink tea, which was all he was in the mood for lately now that fall had come, but he didn't want to fall behind in his studies like he had last year.
As he walked into the common room, he paused and felt his heart stop. Ohhhhh no. It was his sister. He hadn't properly spoken to her since - well, the summer. Was it really MONTHS since he had talked to his sister? Wow. That was sad, just real sad.
He wanted to go over and apologize, but that would involve admitting that he was wrong. And he was NOT about to do that. Still, it felt weird not talking to her. Maybe just a friendly conversation would be enough? After all, it had been MONTHS...maybe they could just forgive and forget? Yeah, that might work! It was worth a shot, right?
Biting his lip, he wandered over to his sister. "Um...hey Sophie," he said with a small smile. Friendly smile of a peace offering, right?!
Desperate to make some small talk and do something other than just...standing there awkwardly, he looked at the book she was flipping through. "What are you reading?" he asked with another polite smile. He was just hoping to make small talk, but that was when he noticed the book.
It was...glowing?
That was weird. Now Caleb was genuinely interested in this. He peered over her shoulder and looked at her with an eyebrow raised. "Why is it GLOWING?" he asked her. Caleb wasn't one for really reading recreationally, but there was something about that pretty gold coloring that made him reach out and start skimming through whatever story Sophie was currently on. It was just so PRETTY!
And then of course, that little Slytherin girl grabbed it and declared it HERS. Way to ruin the fun!!

Mandatory meeting. Exciting. Not.
Entering the study area Beverly glanced around. Her nap time was interrupted, expect cheery and over excited Prefect here. She wasn't one to start with. Spotting the little Slytherin -- the one who got yelled at -- snatch a book, Beverly approached her snatched the book right from under her arm.
"What's this?" It seemed interesting, with the glowing and stuff. She opened it and flipped through some pages before resting her eyes on the girl. "You ask before taking things that aren't yours."

The glowing of the book and its pages dulled as the book closed and was put under the little girl's arm. As happy as the book seemed to make the tiny creature, it had ideas of its own.
But wait, what was this? That big girl taking the book from the little girl.
Shame on you. No book reading for you big girl.
In the blink of an eye, the book that was once the center of attention was now no where to be found in the Slytherin Common Room as it vanished from the hands of the bigger girl.

Caleb blinked, and in that split second when he blinked, the book seemed to magically disappear. Wait...Bev didn't have the book anymore, did she? Had it just...DISAPPEARED? FOR REAL?
o_________O
"Wait, where did it go?!" Caleb asked. For some reason, the fact that it had just disappeared like that made him want to read it even MORE. He'd only gotten to skim a page or two before that girl stole it from them, after all. It didn't even occur to him to question where the book was FROM or anything like that. Because glowing books were totally normal and stuff, right?
Sure, why not? It WAS Hogwarts, weirder things had happened.
But seriously, where had it gone now?! The prefect must have hidden it. It was a neat trick and Caleb made a mental note to ask her to show him later, but right now he crossed his arms and wrinkled his eyebrows at her.
"Where did you put it?" he asked. It was obviously in her robes or something.

"Nooooooo, it's... m-mine," Red stomped her foot and reached for the book again, even though she wasn't any match for the older girl. Her gran was so ill, and that book might be the only thing that would make her feel better, and now someone had gone and...
But it was gone. Just completely disappeared.
"What did you do with my book?" she took a step away from the girl, looking her over with suspicion. Y'know, the girl did have UNUSUALLY big eyes. Like creepy doll big. Like creepy doll with a creepy doll secret big. Like, like... like maybe she wasn't really a girl at all. "My, what big eyes you have."
Hands empty in front of her, she turned around in a circle. "Who did that? Who took it?" HMM? She was just teaching a kid a lesson and--
What...they thought SHE had it? If she did she'd be reading it, DUH.
Why...was this child staring at her. Beverly did not like redheads from experience, and while she wasn't biased...this child wasn't getting on her good side right now.
"What are you staring at, you creepy little twig." Attention was a big NO. So stop drawing it towards her.

Was this girl for REAL right now? "YOU took it," Rumplestiltskin said, rolling his eyes like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Did people really think he was stupid?! That he wouldn't see that she had pulled some kind of magic wool over his eyes? He knew all the tricks in the book - he was the KING of tricks, of course!
"You shouldn't be so MEAN to the young girl," he added with a sly grin. "I know twigs, and straw, and SPINNING straw and let me tell you, she is no twig," he told the Bossy Girl firmly. He honestly could care less if she was mean to the girl or not, but the way the young one was looking at the older one all doe eyed and whatnot - she could be useful and easy to sway if he needed her.
You never knew when you needed allies, dearie!

Was there really going to be a mandatory meeting? Not at all sure what it was all about the small first year made her way to one of the empty tables and sat down. She heard and saw several others at another table surrounding what she figured was a book but she choose to remain alone.
Getting comfortable in her seat she flipped open her book and silently began to read. Surely this would help pass the time along until the meeting. She just hoped none of them were in trouble.

Oh no!
Had she been mean to someone, to little young one? Beauty's eyebrows shot upward, her hand cupping her cheek delicately, aghast.
"I am so sorry, my dear child." She addressed the little girl, and dropped her hand to pat the child gently. How very terrible of her. She'd make it up somehow. Oh, she knew! She'll ask her father to help her.
Turning to the boy who'd spoken to her, Beauty tilted her head, a warm smile covering her lips. Twigs? "There's a hundred uses for them, I read it from a book." Did he know?
Agatha made her way to the Slytherin study table because she had LOVED that notice on their Notice Board. Hah. Professor Bellaire had changed it and added her name there, it was clear. Agatha loved that. In her opinion, the Transfiguration professor should be their Head of House. She was her all-time favourite professor and she was just amazing. Just like Agatha.
What's not to like?
She pulled an annpyed face when she saw that there were loads of students at the table already. Many of the young ones, too. And their prefects. The both of them. Which included Ethan. She stared at the boy a bit longer than she probably should and made her way to sit on the OTHER side of the table. Hm.
"Hi, Beverly." She greeted the prefect she liked, unaware of the little commotion.

You're happy to go with the flow and see where the Yule Ball takes you!
Wait, what!? Aladdin couldn't have Abu here at....Hogwarts? What was this place called Hogwarts? This was extremely weird. Also so many things were happening at once. Just as Aladdin was about to pick up the book, and take it somewhere else it just magically disappeared in the blink of an eye. Which was extraordinarily peculiar if you asked him. Granted he's seen some pretty strange stuff having a Genie friend...wait a minute it...speaking about Genie.
"Have any of you seen a Genie's lamp!?" Aladdin said as he started to frantically run around all over the place. Aladdin wouldn't be able to last a mere second without Genie! He still needed to make some wishes! Or was he out of wishes? If he was he'd just find a new Genie to give him three more wishes pronto. Looking all over the place he was getting really nervous. First Abu, now Genie! What was next!
That's when he spoke way to soon. Where in the world was Jasmine!? Now this was a major issue! Looking around he found his ticket to her! A magic carpet! Dive bombing towards it on the floor he landed, and tumbled on it like a professional acrobat. Aladdin was used to having to do that kind of the thing to get away from all sorts of danger because after all, he was a street rat. Holding onto the sides of the carpet he exclaimed "Carpet take me to Jasmine!" Nothing happened. Waiting expectantly for a few minutes he gazed at it in confusement. Asking aloud to the other little kids "Is this carpet defective or something? Why won't it start flying?"
Peter was hoping to try to find Wendy or his lost boys in this cursed place. There were plenty of other kids in this place. But not the ones he was looking for in this room so far. Hopefully he would find them somewhere in this Castle. He even jumped off the couch to see if he could fly and nope. He could not even fly.
Talk about taking the fun out of everything.
He even forgot about this meeting. But from boredom and complete luck he was here anyway.
He was just that awesome.
"Hopefully this is about an awfully big adventure"
If not then Peter was leaving.
