Maddie was at the back of the room by this point, having risen out of her seat when the pounding began. She kept her wand out, despite Culloden not wanting her to use it. Seemed like a waste of man power to her.

She was seriously beginning to doubt Gryffindors as a whole. All the yelling and carrying on, it wasn't helping. It was going to get someone hurt. If it were Maddie in charge, she'd have silenced the whole lot. That Agatha girl too. Merlin. As it was, she kept to a corner, allowing those more daring to step in front of her to watch the show (and create a human shield between herself and the troll).

She did notice a change in Sophie, though. The way the older Ravenclaw froze on the spot. Her brown eyes widened slightly and she looked around at those near her, wondering where the spell had come from. With all the wands raised, it was hard to be sure.

Had that been an accident?

Jasmine had her wand at the ready and hoped that everyone else did too. Then she heard Professor Culloden direct them to aim for the troll's eyes. Getting as close as she thought was safe, Jasmine tried to focus...... but quickly. She took aim and shouted, ""Stupefy". She had no time to assess her accuracy because she tried to fire of several more stunning spells as fast as she could.

Jasmine hoped that her classmates were joining in because it would take their combined effort to make a significant impact. "Stupefy. Stupefy". Was it working? Jasmine sure hoped so.

Because of, y'know, the huge great troll that was in the classroom, and grabbing to pull little kids back and AWAY from said troll, Toby hadn't registered what was going on with Soph. He'd looked over earlier, seen Culloden dragging her safely behind him, and been satisfied. When he looked again, after Culloden called his instructions, he THOUGHT she looked a little off, and KNEW something didn't feel quite right, but had no time to dwell on it yet. Instead, he went forth with the potions master and tried his best to help stun.

"Stupefy!" Toby casted, sounding more confident than he felt, as he'd never successfully stunned anything before (hadn't really tried, to be honest). "Stupefy!" Aiming RIGHT for the EYES. "Stupefy!"

But he was distracted, still with that image of Soph in mind, and glanced back to look at her.

... Something was... wrong.

Consider her, perhaps even further unamused. Lex didn't care that they wanted to yell and hurl spells at the troll. She didn't care that some were so frightened they could hardly get out of the way and she didn't care about the hard of hearing who stood their ground after the Professor told them to get back. The only thing that mattered was the moment had come for everyone to have their wands at ready and she didn't HAVE one. What was she meant to do, just sit there and watch everyone else have fun? So stupid.

The Gryffindor crossed her arms, her discontent clear as day from where she sat in her seat glaring at the dumb troll. Idiot. Why couldn't it have shown up before that stupid fairytale book did? At least then she'd have had her wand and could'a taken a crack out of him.

Stupid stupid stupid.

It got even worse realizing that her frustration couldn't be quelled by candy thanks to her having lost her candy bag as well. Because this things SO weren't bad enough before. Lex grumbled and grumbled more, wishing they'd hurry up and be done with the ugly thing.

Something was being shot at him. Silly human thought freezing water would stop him. He had three billy goats to deal with and now all these delicious humans. "I WILL GOBBLE YOU UP"

Then shoes were being thrown, the troll was getting madder and took his club to start swinging. Slamming it in some empty seats and breaking a desk. He was going to Gobble them up.


Hearing the older looking one the troll focused right on him swinging his club. "I'm GOING TO GOBBLE YOU FIRST." He started towards the man as he was hit with spells that were stinging. He stumbled back a bit then slammed his club against the wall before going towards the older one again.

Ian saw the professor swing into action after he'd shot his spell, first taking away the frozen part of the floor and retrieving Kevin, who Ian had put in harm's way, then giving directions to the other students. Ian went further back in the room and watched as the professor and the other students went to work. It was rather impressive to see.

Ian watched as the combined spells hit the troll and it seemed to make the troll angrier. Well then, seems like they were in for some ending to this class. It had been boring and he would gladly go back to that.

One second he was on the ground, glaring at the student who had used the ice charm causing him to slip. The next second he was up in the air. The Gryffindor tumbled through the air rather awkwardly and as he flew towards the side where the others were he saw that it was the Professor who had used the spell.

......Did....that mean his life was saved by Culloden? ...LOOOL!

As he landed, Kevin jumped up and held his wand at the ready, ready to attack but then... fifth years and older. He wasn't just going to sit there and wait! "I CAN DO THAT SPELL TOO!" wait why was he even saying that? He stepped foreward to the older students and the Professor when the troll started hitting the desks and walls with the club.

Come oooooon! Let him help! He had stupified half the students at school, he was good at this!

Well, that was worth it. And look at everyone battling on. Except for..."CAMBRIDGE?!" He said, and threw his 9.5" Hippogriff feather Aspen straight at the headgirl. A bit dangerous considering it was a bit sword-like, but safer than the current situation they were in.

He backed away toward the quiet corner that Happygoody occupied and glanced at Ethan Mordaunt. Then at the litluns. Then at Ethan again. As if to suggest that they should get the smaller ones out of there.

Zahra saved Gabe. She was SUCH a good friend. Ruby kept hold of his hand and had no intention of springing forward into action. No way.

Besides, technically he had said older than a fifth year. She wasn't OLDER than a fifth year, she WAS a fifth year. So not older.

And if anyone asked she'd say she was protecting the little kids.

Woah this troll was getting mad. This was getting out of hand! Where was the professor in this!? Kace had his wand at the ready and decided to take action and yelled, "Expelliarmus!" at the troll's weapon. He wondered if they would work. I mean it would blow it up but better blown up then being used! But that seemed thicker than a wand. He thought on his feet and yelled, "BOMBARDA!" at his club. He wondered if it broke into pieces.

Oh jeez. Oh man. Fifth year meant HIM.

OH JEEZ.

Not that he was having DOUBTS, mind you. This was a rather large troll, you know, and the dude was a little scared about it, even if he wouldn't admit to feeling that way in a million years. It also didn't help that his heart was now pounding so hard, it was almost as if it was gonna threaten to pound right out of his chest. Something else that didn't help was seeing Sophie over there standing stock still. Did he have any idea what had happened? Nope.

Sweet Merlin, PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER, WHITLOCK.

................... And that would do it. The troll heading off towards Culloden. Grayson narrowed his eyes as he pushed his way forward, not caring if anyone protested against being bumped by him. Excuse YOU, troll, but who told you that you could do that?

RAGE.

"STUPEFY!" he bellowed, aiming for those eyes because that was where it was gonna HURT. And because Culloden had instructed them to do so. "STUPEFY!"

Layla was focusing on notes. Notes were what was going to get her through her exams and not answering all these questions that she didn't fully know the answers to and therefore would just make a fool out of herself. She had answered SOME after all and she was expected to write stuff as well as participate right?

Some people were shy after all. Layla wasn't but still..

Only her peaceful note taking process was promptly disturbed by some BANGING and the Ravenclaw stared towards the door. What. On. EARTH?! Before long things had gone crazy and the fifteen-year-old quite frankly had no idea what to do. There was a troll, in the dungeons. A large stinking troll and for once she admitted that she felt a little fear. Fear for her life and weirdly for the others. That and because she hadn't believed these stupid ugly things had existed a few months ago and it was taking her time to adjust to it now.

The other students were shouting spells and Layla fumbled to get her wand off the table. She hadn't used this spell before bt she was going to try for the sake of her school..

(Which really needed to be shut down. It was mental)

"Stupefy!" she called aiming towards the troll praying that it would work. She wasn't going to be troll dinner.

She wanted OUT of here! Out of this stupid messed up school!

Jasmine wished she had some of the potion that Professor Culloden had given her last term. That would really come in handy right about now. Since she didn't have it, she had to rely on her own courage. Continuing to fire stunning spells at the troll, she shouted, "Stupefy". Over and over, she repeated the spell. Surely it had to be doing something besides making the troll mad.

"We need more firepower. Keep stunning him!". This had to work. It just had to.

You know what Cosgrach Culloden was doing?

Panicking. His panic increasing with every step that creature took. He took a deep breath and ignored Kevin. He didn't need him casting spells, thank you very much. He was still oblivious to Sophie too, bellowed a "Drag her!" to Marigold when she asked him what to do, and instead focused on the thing. Stupefy wasn't working, and the creature meant to kill HIM, so with the increasing panic, he charmed a desk to hit him in the face, hoping to detain it while he sent a patronus to call for help.

Holy kneazle, stuff just got REAL. Lex's eyes widened as the troll began smashing his way closer to them. He was just making noise anymore, he was taking action--something she might have done with a wand. Why did none of this seem real? The smashing was real enough and it was getting closer. Perhaps that was the only reason she ended up hopping from her seat, narrowly missing the blow of the swinging club. Getting smushed in Potions? No thanks, she had plans for the rest of that day that didn't involve the hospital wing.

In all the sudden chaos she'd almost missed her name but spun in time to see a wand flying through the air at her. Cutty Mordaunt, her saving grace in all this. Bless his little power hungry heart. "Thanks!"

Stepping back she took aim at the troll that was headed for their Professor. It was getting ruder by the second. "Confringo!" Stupefy wasn't working. Better this thing be dead than the Professor.

Norah was about to drift to sleep when A TROLL?

Panic.

Panic.

Panic.

She sat petrified in her seat, staring at the ginormous, towering THING. What in the name of MERLIN were they were going to do about this. Her eyes widened. She couldn't move, she couldn't move. That thing was going to SMUSH her into a NORAH PANCAKE. And suddenly somebody's hands were on her, pulling her out of her chair and to the back of the room. Not even looking to see who had saved her, she pressed back against the wall with the other younger kids and tried not to look at the troll. But her eyes kept returning to its big ol' club. Not knowing any spells that could help the situation, she tried to make herself as small and invisible as possible. At least now it was a good thing she wasn't very tall.

Marigold was dragging Sophie Brown, a situation she had never expected to occur. Sophie Brown was still frozen solid, so it was hard work, especially because Marigold was small and weak. She succeeded finally at dragging her close to the war, then kinda leaaaaaning her up against it. She put her hands on her knees to take a breath, then saw a definitely younger student (Kevin) offer to help and she sprang over there. "No, here, let's back up and go against the wall, 'kay? No need to rashness and danger and things," she said, babbling as she used some force to nudge him backwards. NORAH TOO? "Norah, no. No. Time for spells later, hon." She took the younger girl by the hand and marched her back to the wall, squeezing the girl reassuringly. Then she pulled out her wand and ran a bit closer to the troll. "Stupefy!" at the eyes, while trying not to hit the flying desk.

Toby's attention was back on the troll again, but his mind was still over with Sophie, because something WAS wrong but he didn't have enough time to work it out, because of the TROLL. It wasn't until Culloden had shouted about dragging someone that he looked back again, and paid more attention this time.

Sophie was... frozen? Like... not at all moving from the first time he'd looked at her. THAT was what was wrong. Most likely hit by one of the freezing charms that had been thrown around when the troll first came in, but Toby wasn't thinking about that. What HE was thinking about was how his BEST FRIEND in the WHOLE WORLD was stuck in this situation without any means of defending herself. Whether it was an accident or not, Toby found himself furious that his usually VERY independent best friend/girlfriend was now helpless in this incredibly dangerous situation.

The thought that it might have been intentional didn't yet cross his mind.

Worry and something akin to dread seemed to kill Tobias until it felt like a physical pain in the pit of his stomach. He started to back up to get to Soph and UNFREEZE her, but as he did so, the troll focused on Culloden. Without really thinking about it Toby dashed over to his side, ready to... do what? Nothing he could do would help, but not for want of trying.

"STUPEFY!" Toby bellowed as he pointed his wand at the troll, adrenaline REALLY kicking in now, his worry for everyone, ESPECIALLY Soph and Culloden, really driving him. "STUPEFY!"

He was up on his toes, ready to dart out of the way if needed. Having an abundance of energy was always good for something.

Toby glanced over his shoulder to look at Soph's frozen form again, worry etched over his face, but staying beside Culloden, who'd just sent a patronus. Help was on its way, yeah?

Zahra wasn't one bit panicked. SHE WAS BORN FOR THIS DAY! This was SO awesome it almost hurt. Or probably would hurt later when she got destroyed by a troll.

" I READ ALL ABOUT THIS! HAHHA BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I READ SOMETHING!" AND IT WAS PROVING USEFUL! See, Mikey and Zahra, being the ultimate Gryffindors sorrrrrrrrrrrrta idolized Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Like there were always trying to top their antics.

Zahra KNEW what to DO to a TROLL.

"WINGARDIUM LEVIOSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she made to LEVITATE the nearest desk and BEAT THE TROLL IN THE HEAD WITH IT! YEAH! YEAH FOR GRYFFINDOR! And also PROFESSOR CULLY!

Did anyone else want to talk about why one of the Sophies was dumb enough to run in front of people casting spells? Because honestly. No spells were about to hit Ruby, she was well back. In fact there was wall behind her now.

She was an excellent supervisor by the way. Besties had things under control. Zahra murdering a giant troll or whatevs, and Mari saving little kids. Oooh and Grayson playing hero for some reason? Hot, but surprising. Not because she didn't see him as the hero type but... what was his motivation?

Ruby (and Gabe, since she had a good grip on him still) weren't in any immediate danger. She noticed the professor was kind of at a loss, which was a bit adorable, though she hoped nobody died because of it.

Or like, at least nobody that she knew.

Mmm. Maybe the troll would come further into the room and then the door would be easier to get to? Then she could make a run for it, assuming Gabe didn't slow her down. Slipping out did seem like the best idea. But not yet, she wasn't about taking risks.

Not that sort anyway.

There was a talking TROLL in the classroom. And spells were being thrown and crazy Gryffindors running around and Kyro justh KNEW that if they had made potions today that NONE of this would have happened.

One second he was on his chair staring at the large intruding creature, and the next Marigold was yanking him by the arm toward Culloden's desk."Someone should stick a wand up his nose." Wasn't that how Harry Potter had dealt with the troll in his first year? Drawing his wand Kyroh WOULD had tried, but to be honest he wasn't stupid. And he did NOT want to be the one to get gobbled.

Clearly stunning was not working. The troll was after Professor Culloden and he was looking to gobble. It was time to go to plan B and fast. Then Jasmine noticed what Zahra was doing. She might be on to something. Quickly saying, "Wingardium Leviosa", Jasmine guided a second desk over the troll's head and let it drop. How about a little one, two punch. She hoped to knock him out rather than enrage him even further.

Had anyone been able to call for help? Looking around, Jasmine tried to make sure that everyone was out of the troll's path, should he start to fall.

Red was full on freaked out, and the appearance of a large, rabid beast (even if it wasn't a wolf) had her going absolutely mental. There was shouting of directions, and people kept shoving her, and Red wasn't paying attention to any of it.

Nope. Let them buffet her around like a leaf on a windy day. Red was just going to stand here. And maybe eep a bit. A lot. Over and over.

Help help help help bigbadwolfbigbadwolfbigbadwolf. Help help help. "GIVE ME BACK MY GRANDMOTHER, YOU BEAST!" Something snapped, and Red went from trembling leaf to enraged. She chucked an apple from her basket, aiming at the beast's head. "I'LL CHOP YOU UP."

This was REALLY happening. It wasn't a dream... and even though he felt super safe with where he was sitting just moments ago, he somehow found himself being pushed further back behind the older students. Uuhhh... okay?

He knew spells too!!! Or well, yeah... what was that one Lex has taught him? Bombarda? Could he use that? Glacius seemed weak against a troll thing, but yeah, bombarda might be helpful.

Zeke waved his wand at the troll a few times, sending sparks and pretty lighting bolt looking things at it. Not anything that would cause it any real harm, but maybe it would scare it a little?

But then he still REEEAAALLLY wanted to hit the troll proper, so inching into some proper space, and aiming his wand at his ugly head, Zeke performed the spell the Head Girl had taught him. Wooooop. "Bombarda!"

More spells started coming at the troll and he continued to swing his club breaking whatever was around him. His club tried to leave his hands after some tried to disarm, but all missing he swung harder. The more sells that came at him the meaner he was getting.

"I'M GOING TO GOBBLE YOU UP!!!!!"


He stopped moving and took his big hand down to pick up the older man when he was hit in the face by something hard. Taking the Troll off guard he faltered backwards a few steps. Shaking his head he swung again this time letting out a very spit filled "GROOOOWWWWLLLLLLLLL"

Just as he was about to lung at the professor he felt something else hard hit him in the head. This time the Troll stumbled forward as his club slammed into the floor very close to it's target, the professor.


BAAAAAAM

He hit the ground knocked out, but what happened next wasn't expected.
With a quiet POOF the troll was gone. Where did it go?
