Office of Professor Abraham Botros After being allowed to walk through the two polished doors, you're most likely to be welcomed by professor Botros' Crup, Feo. The office is relatively larger than expected, with bookshelves lining the walls, along with artifacts, figures of runes of all alphabets (duh), and several copies of The Pocket-hanky Ultimate Board. To the right and right after you see a basket with a bunch of walking canes inside, there is a small coffee table with a bunch of rolls and parchment on top, a vase of red roses is always perched up too and professor Botros sometimes is seen watering or wiping their leaves gently with his hands. Next to that coffee table is a higher stool with nothing hovering over it anymore. |

"Hi Professor," the Hufflepuff smiled, giving a little wave as he shut the door behind him. |

Botros expected it to be Tempus, who else would stop by so early. It wasn't like his kids were eager to Ancient Runes, cough!chuckle!sad. "Hello, Tobias. Perfect timing, I was craving food. I have a delicious cake, come come." He got up from his rocking chair and like an over-sized baby walked to the cabinet by the bookshelves. There were four lime cake slices in there, "Say, how's school so far?" This was going to be a very quiet and normal term, Ab had his mind set on keeping things under control with Annie. It was a thing. It was. |
Quote:
"Do you need any help, sir?" the Hufflepuff offered politely, stepping further into the office. 'Cause, y'know, manners. He sort of lingered there for a while, not sitting unless he WAS supposed "School's going great so far, yeah. Which is a relief, as it's my OWL year." Yeeeaaaaahhhhhh... OWLs. Ahem. "And the blizzards are gone, of course. That's great too." Toby looked around the office again, as he always tended to do. It was a nice sense of stability, having this little annual meeting in this same office which never seemed to change. |

There was no plates in his office, how come there were no plates in his office?? Botros sort of stood there for a while, with the cake slices platter in his hand trying to figure out a way to hand over the dessert to his young guest. "UH.. bring two handkerchiefs from that stand over the desk, will you?" He would sacrifice two of his handkerchiefs for Tobias, this was not normal professor/student move. |
Quote:
Ah, see? Botros knew things. "A little anxious, yeah," Toby admitted, giving a little smile that was just short of his usual confident air, which was a big thing, because the Hufflepuff didn't admit to having those sorts of emotions to just ANYONE so freely. It had been an understatement really; Tobias had never been the type to really find exams or ANYTHING that required concentration to be easy, after all, and all that stuff made up most of the OWL exams. Oops. At the next part, Toby bit into his cake slice and looked up in slight surprise. He had to really remind himself of his manners and swallow the mouthful of cake before speaking, too. "Really?" he replied, smiling. "You'd let me do that?" Smiling turned to full on grateful beaming. "That would be brilliant, Professor, thank you!" What an offer! And dead supportive. Certainly not something Tobias was about to turn down, that was for sure. "I'm okay, thanks, Professor," Toby added to the offer of tea. He didn't want to ask for too much. "Unless you're having some? ... I could sort it out for you?" Unless... he was going to use magic............. Well it was super easy to forget that magic was a thing, after all. Shhhh. "How was your summer, sir?" |

Weird. "Hello, I'm Agatha Hapgood, fourth year Slytherin." The ballerina finally introduced herself once she looked over to where the professor Botros was. As she walked over, she switched the piece of parchment to her left hand and held out her right one for him to shake. That was the polite thing to do. She had never been formally introduced to the old man, only seen him around the Great Hall occasionally. |
Quote:
"Hello Agatha Hapgood, I'm Abraham Botros." He took her small hand into a gentle shake, smiling. He didn't remember her from his classes, her face was unfamiliar so either she wasn't one of his students, or she was a quiet one. Ab didn't mind students walking into his office whether for class reasons or not, he wasn't just a professor around the school, anyway. |
Quote:
Okay, where to start? ......Better go staight to business. "Sir, I came here because I was given this... poem" Did she believe it was a poem? She wan't sure, but since the boy had said 'poem' she'd go with that for now. "but I don't know what it means." She placed the piece of parchment on his desk in front of him and smoothed it to make sure it was perfectly readable. She didn't know whether it was upside down or not. She had no clue as to how to even start reading that. "I don't know what language this is either. I was wondering if you could tell me what it says." |
Quote:
She was a polite snake, Botros could easily see that in the way she talked and walked. But then again, who was not polite to an old man such as himself, it was a rule even the rudest student followed for some reason; Never rude to the old professor. |
Hahahaha, he's so funny and sweet xD Quote:
But a question was asked instead of an asnwer given. Agatha blinked at the old man and was quiet for a few seconds before replying. "A friend." She said simply, sounding as innocent as possible. Which she kind of was at the moment, since she honestly had no clue what the poem said. "Yes, I'm a fourth year." She wanted to inquire his reasons for asking that but decided against it since that would only delay the translation. "Do you know what it says, sir?" She asked patiently, leaning forward to not miss a word he said. Come on, just tell her already! |
hehe xD Quote:
A friend. Yeah, this wasn't something to give to a friend, that much Botros knew about teens nowadays. "I do." Yep, he did know what it said and he dared to guess what this friend meant by sending this poem to their 'friend'. |
AHAHAHAHA ohmyword xD Quote:
The Slytherin nodded when the professor told her she should thank her friend for giving the poem to her because it was lovely. Lovely??? Agatha raised one eyebrow as she was suddenly very suspicious of what it might say. That boy was not known for writing 'lovely' things, that was for sure. 'It conveys...' Yeeees? The ballerina leaned forward even more to not miss a word he was going to say. '... the intention of staying friends with you, and the future beholds nice surprises between the two of you.' ..................What? The confusion was clear in her face and she stared at the Ancient Runes master for a long, long moment. ... "What?" |
Quote:
Oh it seemed he wasn't the only one with hearing problems. Botros leaned forward and repeated, "It is a lovely poem, your friend wants to convey the feeling that your friendship could hold more things in the future. I'd get him a fruit basket or some chocolate if I were you." He leaned back and smiled at her. |
Quote:
The Slytherin's thoughts trailed off and soon the ballerina was smirking, a sparkle of wickedness in her eyes. She blinked and looked back up at the old man, looking thoughtful this time, but the smirk was still there. "Do you really think I should do that, sir?" The fruit basket and the chocolate? She wondered if it was worth it. She also wondered what the boy's intentions were. Stay friends? "What else would we be, professor?" Agatha asked, her smirk disappearing as she sounded innocent, but the sparkle was back in her eyes. Oh, this would be fun. |
Quote:
She seemed awfully thoughtful, this one. It wasn't bad, it was a nice change from the rambling and bouncy ones (not that he minded any). Did he really think she should do that? Oh dear Odin. "I always think so, dear. He is your friend." Didn't friends do that, anymore? Back when he was a boy, girls gave him fruit baskets all the time as a token of their friendships. Okay, well, he was maybe stretching the truth a little and his memory hadn't been the best in so long, but he was PRETTY sure people shared presents with their friends from time to time. |
*lets self in, hopes this is okay* Quote:
No really, she was and in fact the Gryffindor's hand was full on ready to launch another attack on the door when it swung open and before her stood the very man she'd been hoping to find in here. There was no usual immediate grin to follow on account of this being completely serious business that needed all the seriousness in the world but she did give him a polite nod. "Good evening Professor. Glad I caught you." No asking if he was busy because that opened the door to being asked to come back later. Lex would be having none of that. This needed to be sorted. "I'd love to, 'cause see, I heard some disturbing things and I need to get this all out." ALL of it so with that the Gryffindor walked right by him and into the room then took the seat opposite his desk. Yes. Serious talk. Real serious. Why wasn't he sitting so they could begin. This was life or death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Quote:
Ab finished stretching and yawning, dragging himself back to his rocking chair. Yes, he took his time but in his defense he didn't know how serious Cambridge's issue was, specially since the girl was naturally |
Quote:
Wasn't this professor gullible? Agatha half-smiled, half-smirked when he answered her question with a somple 'nothing'. She understood perfectly where the old man's point. Who would've thought..... Cutty Mordaunt. Mwahahahahaha. "Thank you." The ballerina politely took the parchment from his hand but remained seated. "What are the exact words of the poem, sir?" She asked blinking innocently at him. He hadn't told her and yes, Agatha Hapgood was going to push it. |
Quote:
Oh? An invitation to sit right there with him and pour out all the worries of her poor, fragile soul?--Yes, dramatic, but it'd been MONTHS since she'd seen her wand and bag OKAY???? Lex hopped up from her seat and pulled it along the floor in such a way that it made an obnoxious noise all the way around the table til it rested right next to Professor Botros. At this point she flopped into it once more and gave a solid shake of her head. "No tea Sir, I've never really been a fan of the stuff." And that wouldn't be changing any time soon. Besides, she had some serious matters to discuss here. "Professor, have you ever loved something so much you'd out someone for it?" A good question to start so they could be on the same page and he could understand how thoroughly annoyed she was at him keeping it a secret so long. |
Text Cut: Agatha and the mysterious poem Well. This girl was a stubborn little kid if he ever saw one. Botros smiled, "I do not wish to share the exact translation, my dear, for it is inappropriate for a student and a professor to have this kind of conversation." Not to mention that he, as deputy headmaster, was dreaming of a more innocent and purer atmosphere for the kids in this school. "Better focus on that fruit basket and your studies." He gave her a wide grin. Text Cut: Alexa and the woes of a Gryffindor She... she... she wasn't a fan of the 'stuff'? Botros relaxed in his chair like a kicked puppy. Who called tea 'stuff'? And who was not a fan of the stuff? He felt betrayed somehow, especially that Cambridge was one of his favorite students within these walls. How sad. |
Quote:
"See, I've lost my wand and candy bag--haven't seen them for months now and as you can imagine, something like this would be a devastating blow to anyone." Magic and candy, her top priorities since her Third Year. The only time she'd ever diverted from those priorities found her humiliated in the luggage compartment of the train. As you can well imagine, she never planned to deviate again but it was hard to stick to the right path when the right path was STOLEN. "Of course I've sent out notices that no one really seems to respond to--BUT in your King Trident class I got to talking to Ethan and he told me you were there when my wand and candy bag were stolen, you and the Headmistress both." Lex fixed him with a look that said she felt completely and utterly betrayed. "How could you two have sat there and let some creep make off with my most prized possessions????" Serious question, it requires a response. "Said I was thrown down and banished from the Great Hall too. Did you sit by and let that happen too?? What about the student's welfare??????" Another important question as she stared at him with piercing hazel eyes, imploring him to give some response to defend himself and assure her that he'd only been keeping her things safe for her. |
Quote:
Hmph. He wasn't going to give in and tell her. Whatever. She didn't need his help. Her expression didn't show her annoyed, however. Not all of it, at least. The Slytherin finally got up and put the parchment back in her robe's pocket. "Thank you for your help, professor Botros." She gave him a polite nod and turned away to leave. Stopping at the door, she looked back one last time. "May I at least know what language this is, sir?" |
Text Cut: Alexaaa Wow, that was a lot of things to dump on the elderly man. He nodded sympathetically, trying to keep up with her emotions that elicited those words. She had a valid point to complain about this, and he was not going to rat off Annie and say that she was the one to banish her in a moment of annoyance. This is how good of a man Botros was, he was going to take the blame for this, like a gentleman. Text Cut: Agathaaa Botros was convinced she quit her search for the translation of this love poem, and he beamed at her. "You're most welcome, dear." And just when he turned to continue with his reading... or nap, she turned to ask one more question. "Uh, it's Arabic." He said hesitantly, not sure whether he'd regret this in the near future or not. |
Quote:
He was probably just mocking her anyway. "Thank you, sir." And after flipping her hair, Agatha finally left his office. |
