Default of Professor Morgan

Graphic by emjay

While waiting at the door you might think the Divination professor would have a tiny office due to the location, but you will soon see has you walk through the door a very spacious room set up by Professor Morgan. The room is set up in soft pinks, purples, and white décor and you quickly notice the ylang-ylang fragrance to help relax as well as stimulate awareness. You will notice more relaxing furniture in the office instead of the standard desk and chairs. There is a very comfy floral couch for her visitors to sit in as well as a corner nook with some fluffy pillows to lean against. On the wall you might notice a nice student drawing that she had hung up at the end of last term.

Flowers, the latest issue of the Quibbler, and a few muggle gossip magazines are always easy to find in the office, as well as her Seers Monthly. Professor Morgan always has her stack of favorite divination books sitting on her shelf. The welcoming room is always a great place to have a cup of tea, come for divination help, advice, or just pop in for a visit. She will always be eager to see her students and coworkers. Just watch your step; her fluffy little kitties, Gemini and Aries, may try to play with your robes or shoelaces.

OOC: Professor Morgan can’t wait to interact with students, but please do not post in this thread until you have been invited into her office. Please go to the seating area outside of Professor Morgan’s office and knock on the door.

SPOILER!!: Best professor ever, not at all like that crazy Lolita who doesn't teach at all
She felt bad for Ian he was at a hard age and she didn't envy anyone hitting that age. Trying to find yourself was one of life's hardest tasks. Some don't ever find themselves and others do right away. Herself had taken longer, so she could understand. "Ian it's fine. You can come speak to me anytime you are feeling down or need help with something." She was just happy to try and help. "Many wizards come from the muggle world and do wonderful things. Some Wizards leave us to live in the muggle world and do fine. My brother is married to a muggle and works as a muggle. He's happy as can be." She wasn't sure she agreed with SKy's way of doing things, but love was love and he was happy.

Placing a hand on his shoulder to comfort, "Ian it will workout you just have to have faith." He was young and children fought about the most random things, so she was positive whatever this was would be fixed.

Ian felt a wee but better and more confident in his skills as a diviner. Professor Cassie has really given him an opportunity to speak and to explore a little bit of his own feelings. It was challenging, especially for a boy whose father expected Ian to hide his feelings from the world because proper men didn't speak about feelings or cry or anything. Ian had only ever been taught that feelings were for women. Men didn't have time for those things.

He looked up as the professor touched his shoulder and smiled, really smiled. He was feeling better. He felt awful that he had driven off all his friends and wished there was a way to fix things, but maybe he would figure that out later. For now, it was enough that someone had listened non-judge mentally. Ian expressed his thanks. thanks, roves spur Cassie. You're the best, way better than that mean Arithmancy professor who doesn't actually teach anything.i feel better now. I think I should go as I've taken up lots of your time. You've been a great teacher and I'm glad you came to Hogwarts. he felt like giving her a quick hug! but didn't think it would be proper to hug a professor.

That was always the start of feeling better, something warm to drink. Pouring herself a cup of peppermint tea she kept her eyes on her guest.

"What seems to be troubling you?" She hoped it wasn't the advances of her lessons and meeting. She knew they were too hard and she felt bad that a few got up and left the SNAC meeting. She should have just followed to books on what type of magic to use where.

"Some tea would be nice thank you,",Jasmine replied. She didn't know where to begin or even how to begin. "It's not really related to Divination, it's kind of personal. Well it is related........indirectly." Jasmine figured that it would be best just to get to the point. "Do you remember Cristoffer Strand? Well we had a.......relationship.......he was my boyfriend. When he left school suddenly last term, he didn't tell me anything....didn't say goodbye. I haven't heard from him since then. This was proving to be very difficult, Jasmine hadn't really opened up to anyone about this before.

Taking a deep breath, she continued. "I loved him very much. I still do and I haven't been able to let go. I feel that he didn't leave willingly. He wouldn't have. Anyway, I have been dreaming about him lately.....a lot. It's his face I see when I look in the crystal ball. I don't know what all this means. I don't know what to do." That was an understatement. Jasmine wasn't sure what she expected Professor Cassie to do about this, but just getting it off her chest was helpful. Cris had broken her heart and time had not lessened the pain any. Jasmine still believed that he wouldn't have left her without being forced to. Maybe she was just being naiive. "I'm sorry to dump all of this on you. I just thought you might be able to give me some direction." Jasmine looked up at Professor Cassie with a mixture of sadness and hope on her face.[/QUOTE]

Tea, yes everyone loved tea and it was good for ones that had something troubling them, especially peppermint. Making Jasmine some she focused on the girls words. It was related, but wasn't related. Hmm that was interesting. She handed over the tea and took a seat. Patting the couch to gesture her to sit as well. "Yes I remember him. She had heard a few things, but that was not relevant."

She sighed, "Love is so hard no matter the age and I can understand your needing some closure. I think that's why you are seeing him through the Crystal Ball. Your mind is wanting and needing to get answers. Our minds are a very strong force that can alter any images if fully focused on one thing. Even though you are concentrating and trying to push all out of your mind, this part of your brain is refusing to shut off, which is making your connection fully about him." She had seen that happen a few times.

"If memory serves me correctly he had to leave because of some issues that of course are not mine to discuss, but have you tried owling him? Maybe that is a way to get the answers you are looking for. You could use the Scrying to find out what he is doing now as well. Your focus is charged for him, so with a little practice I think you could find your answers that way as well." If her mind was that focused on him, it should come easy with a connection.

She couldn't help but smile at his words. Now this was why she enjoyed her work so much. She loved bringing Divination to her students, but being able to help them was a great bonus to being a professor. "We must not judge or compare professors. Professor Domingo is in her profession for a reason, so you must look at her side of thing before judging." She didn't know the woman well at all, but she would never jump to judgement without full reasons.

"Ian you are very welcome to come and chat anytime you need. I hope that you find your way back to your friends, but I'm sure it will come. Everything happens for a reason and this is just a challenge to find out who you really are." Life was full of those, she just knew he would figure things out. Getting up she walked him towards the door. "I'm very glad I came to Hogwarts too. It's been such an amazing experience." Opening the door for him she grinned, "Don't hesitate to come back if you need to." She would help if she could.

Jasmine took the cup of tea from Professor Cassie and sipped a bit slowly. Then she listened to what the Professor was telling her. Yes, closure was exactly what she needed. Jasmine wanted answers whether they were good or bad. She felt that she could deal with things, if she only knew the truth. Unfortunately, the truth had eluded her thus far and there was no guarantee that she would ever get it.

She knew. All of the staff knew why Cris left. Jasmine figured this was the case. Of course they weren't at liberty to discuss it and she knew that but still............"Yes, I tried owling him. That was the first thing I did. I didn't get a response." Jasmine knew that it was pretty obvious that Cris didn't want to be found.....not by her anyway. "I just have the feeling part of the reason he left was because of me. I think I caused.......problems for him." Jasmine didn't know that for sure, she just had a feeling.

Jasmine was willing to try Scrying again, if it could help her find answers and get the closure she so desperately craved. "Professor, do you think that what I've been seeing in the crystal ball is real. I mean am I really connecting and seeing things as they are, or is my mind making me see only what I want to see?" she wanted it to be real, no needed it to be real.

Ian blushed a little as he was chastised by the professor. It probably wasn't proper to tell her what he thought of the other teacher, but it was how he really felt. She was much better and that other woman didn't teach them anything.

He walked with her to the door and smiled. As he prepared to walk out the door, he gave her a small bow, to honor her with proper respect. He was happy. I will professor. It's the best I've felt here since the opening night. With that, Ian headed out and down the stairs to start the journey to the kitchen level and bed.

“Well it’s very nice of you to want to visit. I always enjoy visits.” So sweet of her to want to visit. Taking her own cup of hot chocolate she blew on it and sipped it. “That’s very nice of you. It’s always so nice to welcome them. You should see if the elves have some extra cookies to take to them.” Treats were always nice.
Emmylou took the hot chocolate from Cassie and smiled brightly. She sniffed the wonderful smell of the hot drink. "When my mother visits my father and I she always says that chocolate is good for you." Emmylou frowned slightly and then listened to her professor and giggled. "I only prefer hot chocolate, it's pretty much the only chocolate I like but I do like a lot of muggle candies. Like the sweet and sour. I eat it a lot." Emmylou paused. "I do eat real food though, not just candy."

"I love meeting new people and seeing people haven't seen all summer." She was going to say old people but none of the people that she had met last term were that old. Emmylou took a sip of her yummy hot chocolate. It was the perfect temperature and it tasted so amazing. Cookies? That's a good idea. "I'll have to do that! Cookies are a great idea!" Emmylou beamed at the woman. She was a genius.

It took sometime to get over, but in time new love will fill that spot and he will just be a happy memory. Just keep the good and get rid of the bad." That was the best for memories. Her mind drifted to a certain Ravenclaw and things past. Green eyes lifting at her words, "Oh why would you think that? Jasmine you are a very sweet girl, I'm sure it was nothing to do with you." No she could not blame herself.

"Aren't they one in the same really? Your mind is a very powerful force, it will show you want your deepest desire and questions are. The crystal ball just helps connect with that focus and finds what you are looking for." It was a very powerful thing when done correctly. [b] "So yes I certainly would say you are doing it correctly.

When her mother visited her father and her? That hit Cassie a bit and she looked at the child curiously. "Are your parents not together?" It was a rather blunt question, but she liked to know about her students. Hopefully she didn't just open up teenage emotions, but she was curious. Sipping her own drink Cassie continued to listen, "Not everyone likes Chocolate, so it is alright that you like other things." Though she wasn't familiar with sweet and sour. She would have to look for that next time she was at her grandmother's shop. "I assumed you did. No one can survive on just sweets." she giggled.

Meeting new people was one of Cassie's favorite things so she gave a one handed snap. "That is just wonderful, it is always good to meet new people. You never know when someone is meant to cross your path for good reasons if you aren't willing enough to let them step in that path." She lived by that, always greeting everyone happily, because who knew what the newest person might bring. Always good to help and she nodded at the cookie idea. Yes it was a great idea, so great she might need to go get some from the kitchen soon.

What part of the story should Emmylou tell her? The long story or the short story? It was a very complex story in general. It complex to Emmylou because she over thought everything that she's been hearing her mother say behind her back. "My parents are together but their not married, I don't think they ever will be." Any who, on to the story. She would have no choice but to make it short. "My mom is a big star on Broadway and she's lived there all my life but I haven't talked to her or received a reply from any of my letters from her in three years. My mo hasn't really ever been in my life that much. I've always had my Aunt Raeanne as my motherly figure and my dad has always been there for me. My dad has a big family that's always there for me." Emmylou even admitted to herself that she has mommy issues and she make it feel like it's all her fault even when she knows it isn't her fault at all.

Emmylou giggled. "There was this one time that tried living on sweets it was nice but I missed my grandma's cooking when my dad and I would visit it her." The fourth year had to admit that it was very fun to live on candy every once in a blue moon. The Gryffindor nodded and beamed. "I live by that! Some people in my family don't believe in any of that stuff and they call it stupid but I know I believe in that." Meeting new people to Emmylou was like a going on vacation to a really expensive and beautiful place.

Jasmine knew that Professor Cassie was trying to make her feel better and she appreciated that. In time, it will heal. Grown ups always said that and maybe it was true. Right now though, Jasmine felt like her heart was irreparably broken. Maybe she would find new love one day......maybe, but she couldn't imagine ever loving anyone the way she loved Cris. He could not be replaced.

"I will", Jasmine replied. She would hold onto the memories forever. They were all good, except the ending.

Why did she think it was her fault that Cris left school? It was complicated. "Cris and his father had issues. They didn't exactly see eye to eye about things. His father sent him here as a sort of punishment. He never thought that Cris would actually like it here. That would have defeated his whole purpose. I just have a feeling that his father might not have approved of me....of us and that might have been a factor in the decision." She was grasping at straws, trying to make sense of everything. Jasmine was determined not to cry. She came here for a pupose and that didn't involve her losing it in front of Professor Cassie. Her eyes were burning, but she willed the tears not to fall.

"I will try the crystal ball again. Now that I know that I'm not hallucinating, I feel better. I will go back and try to get some answers." If she could find some direction and some answers, maybe it would help Jasmine get her life back together. "Thank you so much Professor Cassie. I really appreciate you listening to me and helping me." Jasmine couldn't think of anyone else at Hogwarts who would have listened to her and tried to help her and.......cared. She didn't need someone telling her to suck it up and get over it.

Meeting new people to Emmylou was like a going on vacation to a really expensive and beautiful place.
She sat and listened to Emmylou's story about her parents, well really about her mother. How sad was this. That was just awful that she wasn't able to spend time with her. A shock went over her when she said how long it had been since she had seen the woman. She didn't want to say to Emmy, but it seemed to her that her parents were not together and her mother well wasn't very motherly. "I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm glad you have your aunt." Thankfully, every girl should have a mother figure to look up to. She had her mother and grandmother, so she was feeling very blessed.

She had tried to live off candy, for some reason Cassie wasn't surprised. "Well I'm glad you came to your senses. Food is just too good to stop eating it." She loved her sweets too, but there were other things she loved the taste of. "Well to each their own. You can believe what you want to believe. It's your path to decide." She gave Emmy a smile before taking another sip of her drink.

Listening to Jasmine Cassie couldn't help but feel bad for the girl. She did have every reason to think that their happiness might have caused him to leave, but again this was not her fault. "You couldn't have known that though and the heart wants what the heart wants. If fate was to bring you together you would have been no matter what." She knew that didn't she? "If his father took him out of school that is an issue that his father has, not your fault, so don't blame yourself." Honestly sending a child to a fantastic school like this one, was just out of this world in her mind.

Smiling as she said she would try Scrying again Cassie nodded.
"Good I think with practice and training you will get good at it, if you are seeing things now then you have the talent to do it. I have a feeling you will soon find what you are looking for."
She often went to scrying for answers when other things weren't helping her. Though lately it wasn't even helping with what had been posing on her mind. "Oh you are very welcome Jasmine, I'm always available to help." She enjoyed helping her students.

The beam was enough to tell her the Professor had been up for ages now, that and the woman was used to being up at these sinful hours. Merlin, how did people do it? There was no adequate means of explaining the torture that met her every morning she had to get up before 10--noon was the ideal time but she was being realistic. This timing was awful but she needed to catch Breakfast after so it was a necessity.

"Sorry about the hours Professor. Have a busy day ahead and didn't wanna throw away the meeting." That she doubted she had a choice in given the tone the woman had used with her when she'd asked her to leave.

Alexa entered the office on the invitation of Professor Smiles but common courtesy prevented her from taking a seat that wasn't offered to her so she stood and waited patiently. "You said we had to talk...."

Jasmine listened to everything that Professor Cassie said. It wasn't her fault? Maybe not, but it still didn't change the fact that Cris was gone. Perhaps it was just fate that things had worked out the way they had. "I know that things happen for a reason and we aren't necessarily meant to understand why. I get that ........but why does it have to be so hard?"

Jasmine would definitely be heading off to the Room of Serenity soon. She would take on that crystal ball and find some answers, or else. She would get through this somehow, she had to.

Then an idea popped into Jasmine's head. "Professor Cassie, do you need any help around here? Is there anything I can do.......to assist you? If you think of any jobs that need doing, let me know.". She had found that keeping busy had helped take her mind off things. Jasmine had thrown herself into her studies more than ever. Despite her issues last year, she had had her best term ever......schoolwise.

"Thank you again for listening. I really do appreciate it and I'll try to take your advice. I've taken up enough of your time though. I'd better go now.". As she prepared to leave, Jasmine added one thing. "Is it OK if I come back and talk to you sometime? I promise I won't be such a downer." Jasmine hoped she said yes because despite the topic, she liked talking with Professor Cassie. She had so much positive energy that you couldn't help but feel better when you were around her.

Well it was very good that Alexa was so up on being on time and not wasting a moment. That gave her props in Cassie's book. Moving back into her office she poured herself a bit more tea. Oooh yes remembering the little spill she had earlier she cleaned up real quick with her wand. "I got a little excited seeing my name in print, but enough about that. Have a seat and get comfy. Would you like some tea or hot chocolate?" She'd love to make some.

Taking seat she knew why Alexa was here, but it seemed there would be no chit chat before hand. Right down to business, "Now Alexa I'd like to apologize first, because I do get into a meditation zone when it comes to trying to contact a spirit, so if I was a bit harsh last night, I will take responsibility. With that being said I would like to discuss the rest of term and Divination." Yes this seemed very important. "Now we both know that Divination is an elective and as much as I do cherish every moment I get to teach, I don't want someone in there that has no faith in the practice as well as an negative vibe that could be harming the others chances to practice." Hence why she was removed last evening.

"So could you please tell me why you are still in Divination when it comes off that you would rather be doing many other things." She wanted to hear her explanation and take it into consideration.

The poor girl, Cassie really was feeling for her. "Life wouldn't be life without it being difficult. It is a test for your strength and you have shown so far that you are strong. I'm very proud of the way you have handled this." No bed for days it seemed she was really trying to work through things.

DO things around here, Cassie thought for a moment, "Well honestly helping keep the Room of Serenity clean and cleaning up tea mugs and pots, as well as the Crystal balls in the Room of Serenity is always helpful. That room is where everything is stored and out for others, so it gets messy quickly. " That was about all she could think of though, so if Jasmine wanted to do any of that she was welcomed.

"You are welcome to visit my office anytime. I don't mind visits and I love to help, so don't hesitate to come if needed." She liked feeling like she could help even if it was just to listen. "You are never taking up my time either, but thank you for stopping by. I'm sorry I couldn't help more, but hopefully scrying will help figure out what you are looking for."

For the briefest moment, Alexa nearly forgot all her values and accepted the hot chocolate but then she remembered the conversation she and Jun had had that one time about the Professor slipping a little something extra into her beverages to make her so happy all the time. Collarbin had a lot of ingredients down in his lab, you just never knew so the Gryffindor gave a polite shake of her head. "Might ruin my morning appetite." Snorts if that was ever possible. "I don't suppose you had marshmallows though?" Those couldn't be tampered with if the pack wasn't opened...in theory.

And they were getting right into it, thankfully. Lex didn't think she'd be able to sit...er...stand through small talk while she wondered whether the Professor would give her another telling off for what happened. It never seemed her style but after last night, there was a new image of Professor Smiles and her nickname was at stake. Alexa nodded along to the mention of the class being an elective and all that.

The question at the end garnered a small shrug. "I'm a Gryffindor." That's why she took the class. That was the exact reason, one her grandparents would grimace at. "I know it can't be proven and I know you can never end a debate of the realism of the practice because neither side will bend but I'm curious enough...I mean I'm usually curious enough." Not clear on how well she was explaining, she shrugged again. "I don't care much for the outright impossibles," like the fortune cookies and signs, "but see, I find it...interesting, the practices, like pyromancy and card readings. Sceptics are sceptics til they're converted and I like seeing and poking and prodding and stretching and testing limits." That was it really. She didn't believe but that didn't mean she didn't wanna SEE.

Ruin ones appetite with hot chocolate, was that even possible? Well she wasn't going to argue Alexa could have or not have whatever she wanted. With a flick of her wand the marshmallows were sitting right in front of the seventh year. "Help yourself, but I still say they'd be better with a cup of hot chocolate." and really she was going to have some for herself right now. Getting up she moved her wand again and the hot chocolate began making itself before she picked it up to blow on it.

"Being a Gryffindor means nothing to me Miss Cambridge, I was never one that believed much in the houses. So using that as an excuse is not going to work much for you." She was a puff through and through, but houses did not hold your sole personality and the blonde really felt everyone could easily fit in all the houses for their own unique ways.

Sipping on her hot chocolate she listened, "Well I can certainly agree with some of that. Plus I'm very glad you are being honest." Now this she could handle with Alexa, a new respect even. "But I have to say your doubts are out weighing your wanting to learn more. Your poking and trying is going to do no good in divination without a little belief. Divination can be a very powerful thing and you have to have the exact right attitude and the right focus or you will never truly find what you are looking for. Last night you were bringing down the entire session because you didn't believe, you wouldn't chant, you had negative vibes." She was going to be honest even if it wasn't very nice. "But I do feel you could do some part of Divination if we could just get your mind to set more positive. I do enjoy every student in my class and will not tell you can't come, but I do expect respect and positive energy while in my classroom." That wasn't too much to ask, was it?

Clean up the Room of Serenity? She could do that. "I'll help straighten and clean things up in there. Keeping busy helps me a lot. Thank you so much."

Jasmine smiled when Professor Cassie said she could come back whenever she needed. Just knowing that made her feel better. Getting everything off her chest had been a tremendous help and hopefully she was on the way to healing. Thank you so much again", Jasmine said to her Professor. "I really do appreciate it.....more than you'll ever know. I'll let you know how it goes with the crystal ball.". On an impulse, Jasmine gave her Professor a hug and then said, "Goodbye". Finally she turned and left the office, feeling a little bit lighter.

Emmylou didn't know what else to say to Professor Cassie. She knew what she wanted to say but she still wasn't ready to talk to anyone about it. Not even her friends that she's been avoiding. The only person that she hasn't been avoid is her boyfriend Kace but she still hadn't talked to him about it yet. She was going to but she just wanted to be ready. "There's some stuff that happened over the summer that I want to talk about but I'm just not ready yet." Emmylou sighed. She wasn't feeling like herself lately. Maybe it was the lack of candy. The fourth year just realized that she really hadn't eaten that much candy since the beginning of the school year. Now she knew that there was something wrong with her and it had to do with her mother. It had to of. "I love my Aunt Raeanne. She's the best." Emmylou still didn't know how she felt about her aunt having a baby though. Maybe she was just selfish and wanted to have her aunt give her all the attention in the world or maybe there was just something wrong with her?

The Gryffindor nodded. "I guess real food is good but I still think candy is better." But it still depended on what the real food was and if it tasted good. Emmy took a sip of her hot chocolate and smiled. "So would that go along with what I want to do when I grown up?" She wanted to be a teacher because she loved to learn new things and be able to teach kids about these things that she's learned about would make her the happiest person in the world.

Noticing the package she stepped aside, "Why don't you come in. Would you like some hot chocolate or tea?" It was always polite to offer a guest a beverage and hot beverages were always comforting if they were upset, though not all were, but she still like to offer the hot beverages anyway. "I hope you have a nice break." She always hoped all her students did.

ooc: go ahead and post in the office now

Hayden was glad that she didn't have to wait very long. Soon after she had arrived, the door opened revealing the Divination professor. Hayden gave her a friendly smile as a greeting, she especially couldn't help it after seeing the professor's infectious beam. "Hello Professor Morgan." Hayden stepped into the office after being invited and looked around. Everything looked so cozy, and the room smelled good.

"Thank you, could I have some hot chocolate?" That sounded absolutely delicious at the moment. Hayden hated winter and would do anything to chase away the cold. She glanced around again and saw a lot of seating options but she didn't know which one to choose so she just stood in the middle of the office. After just a moment's pause, she held out the package in her hands. "I brought this for you. Merry Christmas." Did professor Morgan celebrate Christmas? It could be a gift for any holiday occasion, but Hayden hoped she hadn't said the wrong thing. Inside the package were two cups wrapped carefully in tissue paper so they wouldn't break. One was a coffee cup she'd found at a store over break. The other one was a white tea cup that Hayden had customized by using a stencil to draw solid black paw prints all around. Kitten paw prints of course, because of her cute kitties. Hayden hoped she liked them.

That was the spirit, Cassie was happy to see Jasmine taking a good look and the more positive way about it. "Yes, that certainly is the saying. I do believe it to be true as well. Everything that happens to us each and everyday builds our character, knowledge, and strength. It is how we look at things that can make or break those lessons." It was so good she was looking at it in the better way.

"That is splendid, I'm always happy for the help." Want a very sweet girl Jasmine was. Cassie was delighted to know her better. Though she was leaving, the professor had a instinct that she'd probably be back for another visit, well hopefully she would before she graduated. "Yes please keep me informed of your practice and if you need any assistance you know where to find me." Giving her another little wave she shut the door.

She looked at the child with concern. So many young ones had so many big issues it seemed. It was just very sad and Cassie hated that they went through so much at such young ages. She had such a happy and spoiled childhood, everyone should have that type of childhood. "Well when you are ready to talk about it, I bet you will find someone to listen." She knew that her office was always an option and it didn't have to be mentioned.

Chuckling it was so hard to get a child to admit that candy wasn't all that good for you, but who could blame them when it tasted so good. "Well I guess we could say both are worth our time." So a truths per say maybe. "Yes that certainly would. You have to follow your dreams because they are yours. Following someone else's will only lead to not fulfilling yourself." That was such an important lesson that everyone should learn. "My younger brother was very about leaving the magical world, he doesn't understand our families way of thinking with Divination so his dream was to change completely and even though we all would rather him be here, we all excepted it, because that was his dream and he is succesfully doing that dream as a muggle pilot . " So she truly believed the words she was saying.

Grinning as Hayden decided on Hot chocolate she got busy making two, because why not join her in a cup. Though she felt like she might be gaining a bit of weight with all the hot chocolate she consumed during her student meetings this term. Maybe she'd not put marshmallows in this cup this time. THough they were the best floating around. No she would add them of course. Handing over a mug to Hayden she made herself comfy on the couch and hoped she would do the same.

Seeing her lifted her hands with the package, Cassie couldn't help but melt as she said it was a gift for her. "Hayden that is so sweet. Thank you. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas break." She always felt awkward getting gifts without giving, but she did adore presents as well. Opening it she awwed yet again. "These are sooooo adorbs. I just love them. This kitten one is just fabtastic. So thoughtful." It was just such a wonderful thing.

Now that's fast service! Lex wasted no time in ripping the bag of marshmallows open. They weren't the multi-flavoured ones like in Professor Airey's office but marshmallows were marshmallows and they were intact so Lex was happy enough eating them. "Thanks."

Lex popped another into her mouth. "I'm glad you said that Professor. See how much effect not believing can have? My explanation's nothing because you don't believe in houses...like your explanations about certain stuff don't mean stuff to me because I don't believe in them." They were getting places without even trying. "If you don't mind me asking, why don't you believe in the houses?"

This time she popped two marshmallows into her mouth while she listened, then another and another. They both had their points here the way she saw it. "I don't think my disbelief outweighs my curiosity on account of it never doing that." She'd have repeated the Gryffindor bit and mentioned something about Ravenclaws but the Professor wasn't a believer so she'd leave it. "And there's nothing I'm looking for specifically, just looking so I don't think I'm preventing myself from finding things. Guess I don't see how positivity would affect anything. S'not that I'm negative, rather, I'm sceptical." You couldn't change a sceptic til you made them believe and if you couldn't let them see unless they believed then you'd never get to make them believers. "Are you kicking me out of Divination?"...Just had to get that clear.

She smiled at Alexa's enthusiasm for the marshmallows. Though she still didn't get the ruined appetite if she was eating. "You are very welcome."

She eyed the girl, "It doesn't show anything, you still owe an explanation, because I've asked for one. The best way to make people believe is to explain." She wasn't sure if she was being walked on a bit or if Alexa was just that type of student. "Maybe my wording was a little wrong. I mean I love the houses. Hufflepuff was mine at school and I was very proud to be in that house. I think the house points are fun to use as motivation and the house cup an exciting reward, but I don't feel people should just not place all their identity in their house. I was just asked this year if I was a Slytherin. Everyone has a part of each house in them, so on top of the house that you are in I feel that an emphasis should be placed on school unity and pride as well. We should all work together and be happy to be here together. Still just grinning towards Alexa she sipped her drink.

"Positivy has everything to do with it. If you are not positive you leave a negative aurora to the room which sucks connection and inspiration right out the window. That is why I start my classes with the most positive thing you can, your own success and pride. Boosting everyone's confidence is a very good way at helping them open up to their own potential in the classroom." You could not do a good job if you didn't have confidence in yourself and Cassie truly believed that. "Sceptical or not, if I ask you to do something and you do not do it, you are not helping yourself nor your classmates and things like necromancy don't have time for sceptical people to just sit and let others do the work. It needs everyone positive, concentrating, and helping. You missed a very good outcome I must say." Maybe her fellow SNACinators filled her in.

Was she kicking her out of Divination, well that was the question that had run through the professors head since having Alexa leave. "Alexa, I am not one that would discourage anything from anyone. I want everyone to find the enjoyment and the wonderfulness in Divination like I have, but I'm just not sure you will open up enough to do that. I am not kicking you out, if you wish to be there you are welcome, but if you are going to be there you need to start leaving your sceptic mind at the door and try to hold an open mind as you enter the class. Try to participate more and don't wait for something to happen, help make it happen with your positive attitude and concentration." That's all she was asking and she did not feel it was much to ask.

Her mind full of distractions, she lifted her green eyes as the knock came to the door.

A break seemed too good to be true, but she got up and left her shoes off. Walking across the office and opening the door. "Well hellllo Toby. What brings you here?" She wondered curiously. "Please come in, can I get you any tea or hot chocolate?" Moving aside to let him come in if he wished.
Doop doop doop, Toby found himself rocking back and forth on his feet a little in the space of time between his knocking and the door being opened. When he head the telltale rattle of said door, the Hufflepuff looked around and at the professor with his easy smile.

"Hi Professor," Toby replied, stepping inside the office as she allowed him room to enter. But... ooooh, something to drink sounded brilliant right now. The corridors were still so cold, and if Toby ever turned down food or drink it was a clear sign that something was wrong. "I'd love some hot chocolate, if that's okay?"

He looked around the room curiously, never having visited this office before, and let his gaze linger on specific points of interest before looking at the professor again, still smile.

"I, uh, actually came up here to apologise," the fifth year said, referring to the Divination professor's first question and managing to look apologetic even as he said it. He'd been meaning to visit before now anyway, for different reasons, but an apology was what specifically brought him here right now.

He was a good kid and she was very concerned about his outburst yesterday. It just wasn't like him. So when she heard the knock and looked at her watch she knew it had to be him.

Going towards the door she opened it up, "Goooooood morning Zander. I hope you got some sleep and are feeling rested." Yes, she'd still be very sweet and kind to him, he was a student and she would never not be nice to a student, even though some had pushed her this term. Moving aside she gestured into the office. "Please come in, I brought up some donuts and other pastries if you would like some. I also have tea and hot chocolate." but he knew the drinks. He had been here before.

Zander flinched when the door opened, but it wasn't because he was scared. It was firstly because the sudden movement had jerked him awake and secondly because he was nervous to face Professor Morgan after everything he could remember. Course some of it was still kind of fuzzy, but he knew that he didn't say nice things and a few specific phrases were even stuck in his mind. But..... Why was she being so nice to him? He was, well, horrible yesterday. "I-uh-well... I'm feeling exhausted for some weird reason, but erm, how are you?" He said as he awkwardly took a few steps into the office. Ah. Awkward.

The Gryffindor let her finish offering the snacks before slowly shaking his head, "Erm, no thank you." He couldn't take her food after all the terrible things. Well, the terrible things he could remember. Merlin this was bad. What if he said anything WORSE than what he could remember. The fourth year awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck, "I-er-Professor... I-I want to apologize for yesterday.... I well, I wasn't really myself..." And on that note, he reached into his bag and grabbed for the vial he had labeled 'hate potion' and held it out to her.

But there was more of an apology on the way. Only, just he had to try to remember what he had said. Because he needed to explain. Explain a lot.

[b] "Of course Hot Chocolate would be fine. Excellent choice!" She moved to make him a cup of hot chocolate. "Marshmallows too?" She learned to ask, because some liked them and some didn't. Turning back towards him with a look of curiosity she tilted her head. "Apologize" This certainly confused the professor.

Deciding to make herself a cup of peppermint tea, she looked at her cup and heated the water. "I'm certainly not sure what you have to apologize for Toby, you are a very good student and pleasure to have in the classroom." She had forgotten about him leaving the SNAC meeting and even if she hadn't she wouldn't have thought he needed to apologize it wasn't for everyone.

Walking back into the room she picked up a doughnut for herself. If he wasn't going to eat, she certainly was. "Well while you are here if you feel like you would like one feel free to help yourself." She had planned to figure out what was really going on with Zander, so they might be there awhile if he was going to be like he was yesterday. Though he was seeming back to his normal self. "Well I have to say I spend many hours reflecting and meditating on some of the things discussed yesterday, but I'm doing wonderful." She grinned towards him. No need to show she had taken his words to heart, because she was feeling a bit better about things now.

Taking a seat on her comfy couch she crossed her legs and listened to his words. So he was apologizing and he was admitting he wasn't himself, this might go better then Cassie originally thought. "Well yes, I figured that out quickly, it's why patience with you was a must and not to jump with points or detention. Why don't we sit and talk about what was really going to that made you extremely disrespectful to a professor." He was just lucky it was towards her and no one else that would have been less patient.

Too say he was feeling uncomfortable was a bit of an understatement. Or maybe even a lot of an understatement. Although, he was actually too tired to let it get to his head or anything, but still it made the situation more tense. Was Professor Morgan feeling that too, or was it really only him? As his Professor offered a last time, Zander nodded slowly. Why didn't she just yell at him and get it over with already? It wasn't like he hadn't done anything worse the other day. Anything to make this horrible feeling go away. Please. Just yell. The Gryffindor winced a little at the last bit, but thankfully Professor Morgan said she was doing wonderful. Unless the woman was lying. But uhm, she didn't take anything he said tooo seriously, right? Right?

"I really appreciate that Pro--" Wait a minute, talk about it? Merlin this was going to be a lot harder than he thought. Why didn't she just yell? He already felt bad enough, but now he had to walk them both through it again. And that's when he heard those words. "...That made you extremely disrespectful to a professor..." And this time the wince was completely visible. Maybe a detention or docked off house points would have been better than this. Better than having to deal with that horrible feeling at the pit of his stomach. "I-uh-I..." he turned the vial around in his hands and passed it back and forth from right to left to right to left.

"I didn't mean for any of it to happen, Professor... I-I pinky promise," he looked up at her with complete sincerity. "I took a hate potion before you came... We had to make it in potions and well, none of the stuff I said was true... I just... The potion?" He wasn't sure if that small little explanation would satisfy her, but maybe she didn't want to know why he took the potion?

Cassie watched the fourth year intently feeling just a bit bad for him seeming so anxious or uncomfortable. Though after yesterday she didn't seem to think it was all that horrible. He had made her feel uncheery and not many could get her that far. Now though she was back to her cheery self and sipped her coffee as she sat down. "Zander please have a seat." She motioned towards the couch, though he could have the chair or the comfy little nook it was really up to him.

She eyed what was in his hand as he seemed to be fumbling with words. A hate potion? Well that made a bit more sense. "I knew something was going on. The Zander I got to know last term would never have said those things or acted the way you did. So no worried, most of it is under the bridge so to speak." She had gotten past most of it, though there were a few points she'd like to discuss more.

"You say it was just the potion, though your irritation had to come in a way of something more underlining. So it was good to get it out even if the hate potion wasn't really the best way to do it. Professor Culloden has a very interesting way of teaching, doesn't he?" Giving children hate potions and then just sending them off. She wondered how many more students got into trouble using their potion. "I think there were something you were very correct on with your words." She wouldn't deny it at all. "I know my personality and my teaching style is a bit different for some, but I also think you did shed some light into things I do need to work on." So he was getting a smile for that.
