of Headmistress Truebridge

If permitted to enter the highly exclusive and incredibly pink palace of Headmistress Anastasia Reina (née Bunbury) Truebridge, please take a moment to allow your eyes to adjust. The current occupant of the Head chambers has distinct fashion tastes unlike any of her predecessors. And yes, she does re-do her office every three few years.

The large, thick black desk, which is easily the largest item in the room, rests on a fairly new, geometrically patterned pink and black carpet. In front of the desk are two nearly new black and pink, modernly styled guest chairs; behind it is what can only be described as a veritable throne. This, obviously, is where the Headmistress sits when she is in the office. If you're here to speak with her, you might as well have a seat in one of the guest chairs. You aren't welcome elsewhere in this office.

As you take your seat and look around, you'll notice that the room is lush with healthy green plants in black pots; new black curtains which are usually pulled back from the spacious windows; books and magazines scattered on matching black wooden end tables; and lots and lots of framed personal photos. Most of the photo occupants (the ones that you can see, anyway) are the Headmistress' husband, a former professor himself, and a baby photo of her now six-year-old son, who is certain to grow up to be a genius. The largest photo, which sits facing the Headmistress' throne and the large window behind it, is of the three Truebridges from before they left Egypt.

The other frames on the walls of the room include portraits of former headmasters; a glass-encased man's cane; and a framed scrap of paper from one of Hogwarts' own student publications. In the back corner of the room, near the door that leads to the rest of the Headmistress' chambers, is a collection of very rare brooms locked up inside a black wood corner cabinet. In front of the cabinet sits a large pink wicker basket, usually containing a very pampered, very fat ginger cat. This is Gingersnapple.

Gingersnapple is most protective of his master's chambers, so if you truly wish to speak the Headmistress in her office, be aware that you are doing so at your own risk. Please note: This room is an animal-free zone... with the obvious exception of Gingersnapple.

OOC: You absolutely may not enter this office unless given the password or given IC/OOC access by the Headmistress. If you RP yourself here without following instructions, your post will be deleted.

It was after the feast and Annie was all set up in her office for her little meeting with her boys. She did hope Cosgrach would be back for this, even if he didn't entirely.... support her little plan. At least Javy and Piers were on board.

But now, where WERE they? Hmm? She had tea and after-dinner coffee and Gingersnapple in her lap. All ready!

sarahlooo 09-09-2014 04:11 PM

After the feast was over and Piers was stuffed full to the brim with delicious food, Piers took the lead and tugged Javy along up to Annie's office like she had asked. He wondered what it was about. Perhaps another meeting like they had last term, but where was Cosgrach? He was part of the team, wasn't he? Oh well. They'd find out.

With a knock on her doorframe after reaching the top of the stairs, Piers entered the office and gave the woman nod and walked towards to where she was sitting. "Evening, Annie."

StarShine 09-09-2014 04:14 PM

Cosgrach was in the worst mood ever.

He had missed the feast and probably missed at least half of this meeting too. While it wasn't his hardest night, it was coming to that fast. So far, he had argued with 3 people, and he was sure the count would go higher before the night ended.

He was angry, hurt and angry, and he made no effort to hide it. He rushed into Annie's office in the worst mood and was ready to DEMAND to hear all about the meeting - before he realised Piers and Javy had JUST come.

Well, he wasn't late, then. Half of him wished he was, so that he could bark at them, but his logic kept him back and even forced him to nod at everyone. He muttered a "Good evening," though they probably only heard a manly grunt, and sat on a chair.

Well?

Charely Potter 09-09-2014 04:19 PM

That was some feast in Javier's mind. He was quite full to the point of where the signs of drowsiness was hinting on seeping in eventually. That would explain the slight tugging from Piers' hand as they both made their way up to the second floor where they were expected.

Javy knew what this would be about, after walking inside with Piers to see Annie and her cat waiting for them. "Good evening Annie." Turning his head he happened to see Cosgrach just over by a chair, who got a nod from him too. "Cosgrach.."

BanaBatGirl 09-09-2014 08:05 PM

Aha, there they all were now. "Evening, gentlemen," she stood as the three entered her office, cat still in her arms, and gave them all nods. Cosgrach seemed... a bit off, maybe he was upset about something, but she would ask after this was over. And of course, she would need to let the house elves know he had made it back so that he could get some dinner. There was surely plenty left.

"Let's get down to business," she announced without further ado, resuming her seat and her petting of Gingy just like the Dr. Evil she was. Ahem. "I assume you know why our little team has met up again... we were, alas, unable to recover any reason behind Domingo's venture into the forest last term, and with the chorts being gone now, I'm convinced that she should be gone with them."

Was that too blunt? "And what I mean by that is.... who IS this Lolita Domingo? Why did she choose Hogwarts? WHAT was she doing in the forest? We all know it was her out there, leading the librarian and students to be attacked.... but why? If her motives are pure, I want you three to find out about it and tell me why she didn't come forward with her involvement in this mess. If her motives are unsavory, I want hard evidence proving that too."

She rapped her sharp nails on the armrest of her chair as she continued. "It's time somebody showed some accountability for all the things that go wrong around here. Are you three still in?"

sarahlooo 09-10-2014 05:09 AM

And right down to business they got. Piers listened carefully and nodded here and there, completely agreeing with everything she had said. Honestly, he was rather surprised to see Lolita still here. He KNEW she was fishy, he just knew it! So... they had to figure out what she was up to. And get her gone.

Piers nodded again. "We'll do what has to be done." At least HE would. He was sure the others were on board. "What do you propose?" he inquired, leaning against the chair in front of him (he'd been sitting all evening and would probably slip into a food coma if he sat again at the moment). "Keep a close watch? Or... a closer watch?" Sneak into her office, do some digging. That sounded... exciting. Could he volunteer?

Charely Potter 09-10-2014 05:38 AM

Indeed it was about Lolita. As he was sitting down curtly nodding when appropriate at the task at hand on what they needed to do. Were they still in? Of course Javier would be. He was all for figuring out on why such actions from her nearly lead to deaths at the school. Javy turned his head at Piers when he spoke, who practically earned some frostbite helping Leo with the other students return safely from that forest investigation. His brows creased a moment as he remembered that. "Yes. I'm still in. Whatever it takes."

Now what else did they need to do besides the close watching? As Annie said there would need to be plenty of proof. But hey, these were the wise men after all. They'd figure it out. "I'm sure one of us can capture a few words from her as well," As he glanced towards Cosgrach at that suggestion. He had more.. resources to work with so to speak to help with it too.

StarShine 09-10-2014 10:05 PM

Cosgrach was so stiff you'd think he was just a mannequin. He listened to all, and showed no emotion. This didn't mean he was against the idea - if anything, had it not been for that Cece, they would have already slipped some Veritaserum and been done with it.

"I'm in," he croaked in the end. He could do the talking part like Javy suggested. He just wasn't very communicative that night, excuse him.

BanaBatGirl 09-11-2014 01:20 AM

Good, they were all in. Anastasia made calm and cool eye contact with each man, giving them all nods before she spoke again. Now, she was looking at Piers first.

"I am thinking that we need a closer watch." She raised her brows slightly. "We need to know what SHE was thinking when she went into that forest. And I think the only way to do that is to investigate her on a personal level. I'm talking office, belongings, diary, clothing, any and all spells used by her wand... whatever you can find, I'll take and turn in to the authorities. Do not hold back. Do you have something in mind?"

A little B&E never hurt nobody. And with that sentiment, she looked to Javy and Cossy.

"Now you two, I think, are smooth talkers. I would loooove, Cossy," she needed him to pay attention a little more and stew a little less, "for you to talk to Lolita in a persuasive manner. Javy, you can assist in this." Because he WAS such a good looking and smooth guy. Chances were that Lolita would know he was with Piers, though. "Corner her in the staff room. Distract her while Piers is in her office." A plan was quickly forming here, and it looked positively sneaky.

Could they do it? Annie waited, her brows still peaked.

sarahlooo 09-11-2014 07:33 PM

Should it have been alarming that Piers was a little... excited about this? He tried not to show it. It had been a while since he had gotten into this kind of shenanigans. But he DID know this was dangerous. If Lolita was who they thought she was, they needed to proceed with caution. He knew that.

Piers nodded again, all set with Annie's plan. Although, he was A LITTLE UPSET that Annie didn't think he was a smooth talker. Pff. He got to do the fun part anyway. Piers looked at the other men. "Sounds like a plan." Did the others agree?

StarShine 09-11-2014 08:19 PM

Okay.

Okay.

Okay.

If this had been a better moment for Cosgrach, he would have felt PROUD that JAVY would be his ASSISTANT in talking, but tonight, he simply grunted a "Yes." They didn't have to do it right away, did they? He would soon feel better and much more communicative with Lolita.

And this time, he wouldn't even ask Cece's opinion.

Charely Potter 09-11-2014 09:30 PM

Assisting the both of them. Lovely. Mostly with Cossy while Piers got to infiltrating the office. Why was that? Because Javier was declared a smooth talker. How flattering it was to hear that.

As Javier curtly nodded from hearing the rest of the instructions, "Of course, it'll be done." giving Piers a reassured look before looking towards Cosgrach. Clearly it was not one of his best nights from the look on his face. Goodness, the poor man looked partially starved on top of grumpy.

Anyways, three of the wise men were about ready for this.

BanaBatGirl 09-12-2014 01:52 AM

This was something Annie adored about working with men: when they made decisions, they made decisions. And they could usually be counted on to follow through, these three especially.

"Good. I am delighted to hear it, and will be even mooore pleased when you bring me some results." She tugged Gingersnapple back into her arms for more pats and then stood up. "I expect you will treat this...mission...with the utmost secrecy, yes?? It goes without saying that what happens in the Headmistress' Office stays in the Headmistress' Office?"

StarShine 09-15-2014 03:54 PM

Cosgrach stood up too and nodded curtly. "Of course, Annie." They got this. She needn't worry. He'd already forgotten what was said here, see?

He took a step towards the door. Could they leave?

BanaBatGirl 09-16-2014 01:51 AM

Well then, they were dismissed for now. "Keep in touch... and be careful, you three." With that, Annie showed the men out, still petting Gingy all the while, and then retreated to her chambers for the night.

Whew. That was one meeting down.

sarahlooo 09-29-2014 04:42 AM

Well.

Fuller gave apologetic and appreciative nods to the two students at the gargoyles before heading up the stairs behind the Headmistress. It was quite important after all, so he didn't feel too bad. Once they were in his office and the door was shut, Piers pulled out the duplicated journal entries and set them on Annie's desk.

"Taken right from Domingo's journal. She was tracking them." He pointed to the spot where the Chorts were mentioned so she could read for herself.

Annie cast a quick and surrounding Muffliato toward the office door once it closed behind Piers. This would be quick, she assumed, and sure enough... he was producing evidence right away.

"Oh wonderful," the redhead murmured with some thinly veiled evil glee. She sank into her office chair and started skimming the journals right away, looking up as she came to the tracking parts. "And you didn't get caught? You left everything right the way it was originally, so she wouldn't know that WE know?"

Piers didn't bother sitting down. He was sure this would be a quick meeting and then he would be on his way. He nodded at her question after she read the pages a bit. "I know how to cover my tracks," he said confidently. Duh, Slytherin. "She won't notice a thing."

The charms professor leaned over the headmistress' desk. "What's the next step?"

He wasn't sitting, which was fine, since technically the redhead hadn't invited the Charms professor to sit anywaaaay. But good, goooood, he knew what he was doing. What a good little spy! :3

She raised her eyebrows at his leanding question. "We have to go straight to the proper authorities, of course. She'll need to be questioned... and we're going to play this one by the book. Hopefully they will do their job correctly and WON'T let her escape." And then she'd be off their hands.

"Looks like a new job will be opening up soon, Fuller..." And this time Annie didn't bother to disguise her smile of delight. She rose from her desk and began the walk back to her door. "Know any Artihmancers?"

Err, yeah, hopefully she wouldn't escape? Piers was confident that she wouldn't. She didn't have the brains to, it seemed. If she had, perhaps she would have the brains to have a more secure office, a more hidden, cryptic journal, or all of the above. Fuller nodded.

Piers followed Annie to the door and let out a small chuckle. "I'll keep my eye out." But they were in this mess because another staff member had brought an Arithmancer in, weren't they? "Let me know if you need anything else," he said, beginning to see himself out. He'd be happy to help.

Annie smiled brightly at him. "Would you send that Gryffindor student up here, on your way out? Thank you muchly, Piers, for everything." Emphasis on the last word there, because her little spy knew what she meant.

And with that taken care of, Annie returned to her desk and stuffed the copied journals into an envelope. She then stashed that out of sight until the girls waiting had been addressed.

"You can go see the Headmistress now," he announced before nodding to the other student and then walking off. He had to go tell Javy the news.

Headmistress? Was that like a queen? If so, then maybe this woman would know where to find her friend. Queens were supposed to know everything that happens in their kingdom, after all. So, she hurried up the stairs that appeared as if from nowhere (peculiar) as soon as the man said she could.

Once she reached the office beyond, she stopped in front of what could only be this Headmistress' desk and dropped into a bow. "Your Majesty." And nope, no sitting from her until invited. That would be rude.

Ah, good, Piers had heard her wish to see the students now. And here was the first one, by the looks of things. "Hello," she greeted the girl from her desk, puzzled for a moment when the Gryff dropped into a bow. Was she mocking the Head or...?

Annie decided to just take it on stride, and play along. "What a pleasure, miss...?" She held out her hand daintily. "Please have a seat. What brings you up here today?"

Ginevra 10-09-2014 09:40 AM

Samantha entered the Headmistress's office and looked around. She would wait until she was allowed to sit and speak before moving from the spot she was standing on. It was such a long time since Professor Flamsteed had given her advice. He was normal back then.
