Default Moving Staircase

The easiest way to get from one floor to the next is to take the staircase. But you'd better watch out! It moves.

It was getting late...

Not late enough for curfew, but the call for dinner had already passed and she hadn't budged. She hadn't really felt like eating much lately. But that was alright. She was content with just watching the people move up and down the stairs as she sat beside the railing, her arm wrapped around the supports and her head leaning against the cold stone.

She didn't remember bringing a blanket with her, but there was one around her shoulders and she pulled that tighter around her and opened up The Hobbit, which was translated into Gobbledegook, a gift from a certain Gabriel Banner.

After a little while and getting wrapped into the book, her eyes stopped rising to greet those who passed, barely hearing the echo of their footsteps as they went to and fro.

And she was content.
