A large number of floor-to-ceiling bookcases fill up the library, creating aisles upon aisles of books available for students to read and browse. To make finding books for all years a little easier Mr Kitridge has divided the bookshelves into sections like romance, suspense, crime, history, plants and fungi etc.
To return books just walk up to the appropriate shelf and hold up the book. The gripping charm in place on the shelves will take a hold of the book. When you feel a tug on the book let go and the book will fly up and find its right place amongst the other books on the shelves. When retrieving a book you can use the sliding ladders or if you feel confident with your magic you can use a simple accio charm to retrieve the book you want.
In front of each aisle there is small set of desks which students can use to complete homework, copy notes, take book references or chat. Keep your voices down and be mindful of falling books and other students accessing books around you.
One simple word confirmed the clarified phrase as well as changed everything for them. So that was that. They technically were now a couple. Well as long as he wanted them to be which he guess he did deep down or he wouldn't have been able to say anything about it, perhaps even running away from the whole situation. But he had done one and not done the other so he had his answer.
At her question he shook her head. "No," Ben answered truthfully. Granted there were weird feelings going on but he figured that was totally normal right now given what was happening. "How about we headback to the common room," he suggested not sure he could focus on studying at the moment. Besides the near-constant nice fire combatted the starting autumn chill.
Angel was totally in shock, Ben had said he didn't mind her saying that, so where they now a couple?... Oh she had some much going on in her head that she couldn't decided what to say next but thankfully Ben was speaking and saying something else which was amazing.
"Yeah I think that would be best." Angel giggled, she didn't think she could do any studying now... not since she was on cloud 9 and probably would be staring at him more that she would do the books.

So now they were both on the same page, as boyfriend and girlfriend. Girlfriend and boyfriend. Benny was trying to wrap his brain around that fully.
He simply nodded as she agreed to his proprosal to leave after all. The older Gryffindor adjusted his bag on his shoulder and turned around so they could head back out the way they had come. On second thought, he switched the stuffed dragon into his other hand so the one one the side of Angel could take the girls hand again. Then with a brief, week smile, Ben lead them quietly out of the library.

Hayden chose the location carefully. Actually, that meant she had been wandering around with a vial in her hand for a while. She had no idea how long it had been, anywhere from ten to forty-five minutes. She was really nervous about this homework. Technically, however, it wasn't her only option. She could have chosen to write the essay, but after careful consideration she'd decided against it. Even though Hayden didn't want to take the potion, she also didn't want to have to write something. That sounded like so much work.
Eventually, Hayden found herself in the library. That seemed like a good place to go take the potion. How could you hate someone in the library? With a hate potion of course, but that wasn't the point. Hayden didn't want to hate somebody. The thought of it made her slightly nauseous but it was homework so she had to do it. Hayden walked to the very back of the library and hid herself behind the bookshelves. She wanted to hide from people, even though it was required she saw somebody. The logic made sense in her mind.
Hayden took a deep breath and downed the vial of potion before she could think twice about it. Here goes nothing.

Eden had the little vile of her bad!potion in her pocket. YEP. She was almost positive her potion wouldn't work. Sure, it was red, ladeeeda! But she made SO many mistakes that she had no confidence in her potion at all. Though, she didn't think she minded. Hating someone sounded awful. She wondered if she should test it out on someone random or...? Someone she knew? NO. Someone she knew would be worse. So. She might just take it soon and hope she saw someone she didn't know?
She was here to return books...which she needed to do--but first--she eyed the vial in her hand. HMM. She set her bag down in one of the chairs and glanced around...it was kind of quiet--she didn't want to hate the librarian--but--maybe no one would be here and the potion would wear off before she came into contact with people?
Or her potion wouldn't even work. Which was highly likely.
She tipped the potion back into her mouth...and waited.
HMPH.

Hayden didn't feel any different. Maybe her potion hadn't worked. But she was sure she had brewed it correctly. All the signs had been right. But shouldn't there be some affect? The only thing she felt at the moment was nervousness. There was a knot in her stomach. Hayden was tempted to just run away.
She began to walk out from behind the bookshelf. The only way to see if the potion had worked was to test it out. She needed to see somebody and see if she hated them. The problem was that she didn't really want to see somebody. So she kept taking steps forward, but those steps were very slow and hesitant. Eventually, Hayden rounded the corner and came face to face with a small grouping of chairs, and her.
Any nervousness she'd been feeling had instantly disappeared. It was replaced by an intense feeling of hatred that seemed to fill her whole body. She stared and stared at the girl and clenched her teeth together. Hayden felt anger seething just on the surface, but she kept it contained at the moment. She felt an overwhelming urge to go over and punch her in the face, but even a potion couldn't make Hayden do something that extreme. Plus, she was smart enough to know she wouldn't come out on top in a fight. But she was very temped, because she hated the girl so much. That terrible girl. Who was she?
Hayden stayed still for a moment, contemplating her next move. Violence wasn't the answer, so what should she do? She couldn't just sit idly by, she had to do something. After a moment of consideration, she walked over to the girl and stood in front of her with her hands on her hips. "It's so great you've decided to learn how to read."

Eden felt.........nothing.
Not a single drop of hatred...not even minor dislike? Nothing. Maybe you had to SEE someone for it to take affect? Maybe she had done it wrong? Eden was guessing the latter. She was about to go hide in a hole somewhere when--a girl appeared.
Well hi, freckles. Eden didn't say this aloud, but she surely thought it. Freckles were cute. The girl was CUTE. Eden wanted to pet her, but that would be HIGHLY inappropriate. And it wasn't until the girl said that...horribly rude comment. Eden would have teared up. WOULD. But she was supposed to have..taken the potion, and so she just suuuuucked in some breath and eyed the girl. What if the GIRL had taken the potion herself, eh? That would explain the random meanness.
"Well. at LEAST I don't have...ugly freckles." Wow. Eden was great at insults. She stuck out her tongue for emphasis. So what, she'd be sixteen in February-this was still a very appropriate thing to DO. She blew a raspberry and made SURE to be EXTRA spitty about it!

"They're not ugly, you're ugly!" Just because she hated this person didn't mean she wasn't hurt by her comments. Why would somebody say something so mean to her? It just made Hayden hate her more. The rage seemed to fill her entire body almost as if it was physical. Her hatred felt justified because of what the girl had said to her. And, in her anger, her insults sounded good to her ears. Sounded good.
But she wasn't very good at coming up with them. She was having a hard time expressing her hatred in a physical manner. How could she show the girl how the truly felt? She didn't know, and that was making her even more angry, even though that fact wasn't technically that girl's fault. Ugh. She settled for just standing there angrily. Maybe she should just leave, but she couldn't bring herself to do that just yet. She wasn't sure why not.

Eden was stil not feeling the hatred, but she was feeling bad for calling her freckles ugly. They weren't ugly at all--they were actually quite LOVELY. But she couldn't say this...nope..she was pretending right now. Hatredddddd.
Oh no.
She had called Eden ugly. And Eden already felt not pretty a lot--but she was trying to think logically about this before crying: The girl had clearly just retaliated to what Eden just said, and also, she was starting to think the girl had taken a hate potion, too, so she tried not to be too mad about this at all. UGLY though. Hmm.
Eden made a face and stepped closer. What to come back with? WHAT? Eden thought...hmmm. She "Well--at least I'm not some DUMB little kid--" she said and she STUCK OUT HER TONGUE.
Yeah yeah, Eden was so mean. This was terrible. And Eden didn't know whether to feel bad OR LAUGH?? Like what even! She even reached out and tugged on a bit of the girl's hair--NYAH! And then she felt really bad--but she was supposed to be under the hate potion? So...this wasn't too out there?

Noel Wallace yawned as he pulled out a book he was suppose to read from for class. He wasn't all that against reading but sometimes he just didn't like it. AT ALL. Hopefully though, if he could finish reading before dinner he could work some more on that list he was making.
And not think of how he would be doing it mostly alone. Bleh.

"Nice comeback. Did it take you all day to come up with that one?" Get it, because it was terrible? Sure, Hayden probably didn't have the right to be insulting this girl's insults considering her own, but that wasn't important right now. She just felt mean, for some reason. Sure, hate potion and all but it still felt weird. She wasn't cut out for this. She was a Hufflepuff. After this, she was starting to see how maybe that was truly the right place for her.
She was considering just walking away. Sure, she felt an overpowering hatred toward this girl but that didn't mean she just had to sit there and insult her. She could've just walked away. Hating someone meant maybe she should just do the smart thing and walk away. Be the bigger person? But Hayden was a very small person, literally. And the hate potion was probably clouding her judgment a bit, or quite a lot. Then the girl went too far. She pulled Hayden's hair.
For a split second, Hayden just stopped. She had no idea how to react. When she did react, she didn't really think about what she was doing. She just...reacted. Hayden Screamed, very loudly. She grabbed the end of her hair where the girl had pulled, maybe to protect it but she wasn't really sure why. It hadn't been a conscious decision. She backed up rapidly. "SHE ATTACKED ME!" She wasn't sure who she was speaking to, she had mostly just yelled because she was startled and frightened. Everything happened in a couple seconds.
Hayden realized that maybe she shouldn't have screamed in the library, but she hadn't done it on purpose. It was just her reaction to being viciously attacked. She glanced around, slightly guilty, but there didn't appear to be anyone in the immediate vicinity. Someone still may have heard her but oh well. Then they'd just stop that girl from attacking her again. Hayden reached a bookshelf and partially hid her body behind it. She was ready to run from the girl if needed, but she didn't run yet. She searched for something she might be able to throw. Something?

She sighed and stuck out her tongue at the girl--"What? going to CRY now?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. Trying to look all apathetic and MEAN. But honestly Eden felt like crying...okay? She felt so bad. This was horrible. Who gave Professor Culloden permission to teach this HORRIBLE stuff? And then she was SCREAMING and Eden's face reddened. "HEY! I did NOT attack!" She cried. Sure, hair pulling was NOT nice--but ATTACKING? Eden thought that was a big DRAMATIC okay.
What was she doing now?! The girl was HIDING. Eden glared at her--pretending to be quite full of hatred. "Don't HIDE--you big baby!" HA. Eden stomped her foot--but if the girl began to cry, Eden would have to say sorry and be all..nice.

Jeremiah needed a book and not just any book, a certain one. His fingers traced over the spine if books shelf after shelf until he found just the one his heart was on. It was all about Wizard Wrock and its history something that his mind was just off on lately. He wanted to know how far back the music went and even if he could find some old stuff and compare it to the stuff he knew.
Taking the book he stuffed it under his arm and made his way to the corner area he and Beverly always sat in between the rows of shelves. He liked sitting here with his books. It was one place no one else sat since it was the floor and he knew that he'd be able to do his reading in peace. Sliding down the wall he set his bag next to him and pulled out some crisps before cracking the book open to the first page.

Perfect.
Ever since she had been freed, Beauty enjoyed the feeling of stretching her new limbs. It was even better when surrounded by books, lots and lots of them. The mere thought of being surrounded by new knowledge made her happy and giddy.
Where to start?
She wiggled her fingers, her bottom lip between her teeth. Maybe she'd go read about brave knights and princes. Or about potions. Or history. Or...EVERYTHING OR--
SQUEAK--THUMP!
Flat on her face, landed Beauty.
"Owwwww!" she whimpered. Tripping people was mean! Owww! Her nose. Rub, rub, ouch.
Jeremiah was a solid thirty pages and half a bag of crisps gone before he heard any other voices nearby. He looked up to see a group of hufflepuff girls giggling past not even noticing he was there. Cool. Running his fingers over the letters as he read he let all the dates and band names soak into his brain, filing them away for some future use.
He Just really liked dates and all.
Looking back up at more nearby footsteps he couldn't help the stupid grin that fell on his face upon seeing Beverly. "girl..... face palm!? He blinked as he realized it was his long legs she tipped over. Oh gosh. He'd never hear the end of this! "crap! Sorry!" he shoved his book away and leaned forward to help her up. "sorry, girlfriend..... are you ok?" hopefully not broken.

Sitting up with the help of her tripper, Beauty blinked at him with big, doe eyes. She was seeing stars. What a hard fall. Ow, ow! "It was an accident, I'm sure," she said, rubbing her nose. "You should keep your voice down in a library, though."
Grinning at the boy from behind her hand, she tilted her head and blinked at him some more. Then she glanced behind her.
Was he talking to her? Oh--ow! The girl who's body this belonged to lurched in her head. Ouch, ouch, that wasn't very nice, now.
"Oh, I am sorry, you've mistaken me for someone else." Beast wouldn't like another gentleman calling her girlfriend. How silly!
???????????? To say he was confused was an understatement. Tilting his head at her at her request to keep his voice down he whispered to her. "sorry, is this better?" was library!whispering their thing now? Hmmmmm
WAIT........... GIRLFRIEND SAID WHAT?!
"very funny, Beverly." except it wasnt...... and it kinda hurt his feelings. Ouch.

There. Library voice.
She smiled, stood up and dusted the skirt of her dress. Beauty glanced behind her again. Something told her he was referring to her, but she wasn't this Beverly. She was finally free from the book, therefore, no Beverly.
"I don't know who you're talking about," she smiled sweetly. She raised her index finger. "But I did see that name where the Snakes linger. In their...common room, yes that."
His chin might of wibbled slightly at the words coming out of her mouth. "where the snakes linger?!" he realllllly hoped she meant the slytherins were anf not ACTUAL snakes. He'd be so done with this place is snakes were openly about..... "Bev...erly....." his voice cracked somewhere with in her name and he was officially broken. "did i do something wrong?" was it yesterday? He was a gentleman really! He had no idea what he did wrong.

It seemed she offended him. Tilting her head to the other side, she smiled warmly and placed a a hand on his shoulder. Her hand tingled at the contact, the feeling of a sudden headache hit her. Ow, ow. It was okay. This was her first day out of that book and she was going to enjoy and spread how lovely fairy tales were.
Oh! She'd start with this boy...after he stopped with the lip wibbling.
"It's okay, everything is fine." See, dear. Fine as can be! "I do not know of this Beverly, I am Beauty...or Belle." She preferred the former. "And you didn't do anything--or did you? I do not know, but do you know what always cheers me up? Books. Fairy tale books."
Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when
Samantha had worked out the location of the first clue. She was known to walk so quickly it was like she glided so Samantha was unsure if the younger Ravenclaw, Penelope was still with her. Samantha was busy reading the second clue whilst awaiting for her mentee to join her.

If she found this amusing it wasn't not in the slightest! Jerking her hand off his shoulder he took the book he was so much enjoying earlier and stood up in a huff. "I don't know what your deal, is Beverly but you need to cut it out. it's not funny." He shoved the book on the shelf not caring if that's not where it went. "you're not being very nice and I'm leaving before you say something else that makes me mad." he picked up his bag, leaving his crisps on the floor and stumbled past her, pushing into her shoulder as he went past her. If this was some sick joke she'd stop him right where he stood, she just had too, yea?

Why did this girl keep sticking out her tongue? Was that all she knew how to do? And she was calling Hayden the child. "You did attack me!" Hear that? Hayden had been attacked by this older girl. Though it didn't seem like anyone had heard her, and no one was coming to her rescue. That was kind of surprising, considering she had yelled so loudly in the library, but she didn't mind too much. She could take care of herself thank you very much.
"I'm not hiding, I'm planning my revenge." That was actually pretty accurate. She wasn't exactly hiding, even though she had been known to do that. Even if she was, that wasn't something to be ashamed of. She was simply protecting herself the way she was best able, by putting a bookshelf between herself and any danger that presented itself. Luckily, the bookshelf also contained a bunch of books. Some of them looked very old and fragile and she tried to stay away from those because she really didn't want to break them. She grabbed a thick, hard cover book and held it in her hands. It was simply a precaution. She wasn't going to actually attack with it unless her actions could be justified as self defense. Even under a hate potion, she still wasn't going to risk getting in trouble.

Eden siiiighed. "I did not--" she argued, hands on her hips. She was getting frustrated, and she was pretty sure this would count for her homework. So she would be LEAVING soon, yes.
And now that the other girl had grabbed a book--yeah, Eden's eyes widened. "Um--okay--I'm done--" she said quickly, and she started to grab her things. "I do not want to be attacked by a LITTLE girl in the LIBRARY with a BOOK." She said, growling a bit, because, hey, under the hate the potion(supposed to be).
She didn't waste of time, grabbing the empty vial and her robe, and her book, and shooting glares at the girl--but first--"By any chance...did you just take a hate potion?" she asked softly. It would explain it all. Eden had her hunch that she had, but if she hadn't--whoah. The girl was just mean then. Eden would tell her she had taken hers, too...
SO what if she had actually been pretending because her hate potion didn't work? Eh?

Peeves was bored, these students were being to goodie too-shoes for his liking. Look at all of them just studying and doing their homework. He swooped further into the library and decided to do something about it.
"That's not what you need."
He yelled to no one in particular. Moving closer to the books he pushed them off the shelf onto any heads that might be in there way.
"These are what you need."

Sharing her notes with her buddy, just so she could see that she'd wrote the riddle down, Coral nodded. "I was thinking the library too. It makes most sense to me. But we'll leave the classrooms as a backup?" She was fairly certain it wasn't going to be a classroom, mostly because there were far too many to search and there wasn't anything more specific as to who's classroom it would be. So... library was their best bet in her opinion.
"Shall we?" she closed her notebook, leaving her quill between the pages as a bookmark.
So far so good and luckily, the library wasn't SO far away that Maddie was exhausted by the time they arrived. Plus she was finding that her comrade was pretty smart MOSTLY because she'd agreed with the second year but STILL. It was good to have a solid thinker as an ally. Maybe they'd be able to get all the clues figured out quickly after all.
Spotting Peeves, the second year kept at a safe distance and eyed the older girl curiously. "Do you see anything besides the pesky poltergeist?" Seriously, she was NOT a fan of Peeves. He'd called her and Kyroh BABIES and suggested they have flour for their bums, for Merlin's sake. NOT a good first impression and Maddie felt strongly about THOSE.
She looked around while she waited for Coral's answer, hoping to spot the clue so they could continue their journey.
