Walking through the first floor corridor and up to the classroom for the final History of Magic class of the term, you are of course greeted by the sign outside the door. You are likely not surprised by this sight as it is now pretty much a fixture of this end of the first floor and as always, Professor Glendower leaves the message up to the individual to interpret.
Quote:
Make an Entrance Respectfully
Once inside the classroom, you might notice the very faint yet upbeat tempo music playing in the background. Professor Glendower is at her podium, humming along and creating origami animals out of squares of paper. Come in and take a seat... class will begin soon!
As Kace made his way to History of Magic, he walked through the door and he realized he was the first one here! That has not happened to him in like a while. He grinned and gave himself a pat on the back. He heard the upbeat music and actually really liked it. He nodded his head and went to go take his seat. As he sat down he noticed the Professor was there. He gave her a respectful nod and smiled. "Hello Professor what kind of animals are you making there?" he asked curiously referring to the origami.
TIIIIIIMMEEE for History of Magic. Eden liked this class, too, because not much magic was needed and she just--she loved Professor Glendower. The woman was so NICE and KIND and whatnot. Skipping towards the class, she hummed a little. Today was a GOOD day. Despite recent FRIEND tragedies, she was in a GOOD mood.
And she felt content.
So there. She was CONTENT.
Slipping inside, she grinned at Professor Glendower and waved cheerfully. "Hi--oh--OH!" she bounced in excitement. "I know how to make a swan! My friend showed me--" Clara, to be exact. Clara was just good at ALLLLL that was art.
UGh.
Was CLara coming to this class? She hoped so. If not--well--she'd just flail about origami with her afterwards.

It was time for History of Magic, which as usual meant a lesson full of FUN.
Lux was excited to be there as always as she did a little dance into the classroom. Hearing the upbeat music, she got into the groove with it as she made her way to her seat. It was only then that she noticed the Professor working on what looked to be paper animals; as far as she could remember the muggles referred to that as origami. "Hello, Professor. That looks like fun." She wanted to learn how to do origami.

These lessons were always super fun and Adi could NOT wait to see what they would be doing today. Today's entrance for him was simply walking into the room but he did start bobbing his head in time with the beat of the soft music.
Adi waved to Kace the moment he walked into the room, having spotted him first. uut he paused by Professor Glendower. "HiHiHiHi, Professor.'' He eyed the origami animals. "You're pretty good at this. Do you have Hippogriffs?" Hehe.
.....................
Seaaat. He needed a seat. Adi headed off to get one, smiling at Lux and Eden as he did so.

Staring curiously at the animals, Lux wondered what they were for a moment before looking around the room. Ooh, other people were there. "Hey, Kace!" There was also a Ravenclaw girl (Eden) but Lux didn't know her, so she only waved. Hopefully more people would arrive soon so class could start. Bay and Cinna needed to be there.
And now Adi had arrived which was awesome. "Hello!"

Alexa was starting to feel that end of term burn, the one that made you know you'd been working too hard for the school year and summer needed to get there pronto. It was evident in the way she trudged into the History of Magic class without any little bit of urgency in her step. The mundane repetition of school was wearing her down. She couldn't wait for it to be over.
"Good day Professor." She mumbled before dragging herself to her seat. She was here. Yeah. Now to wait for something to happen or for the class to start.
Alright.

Maddie's entrance was the same as always as she entered the History of Magic Lesson. What WASN'T the same was the smile on her face, one that tugged the corners of her lips upwards as SOON as she saw what Glendower was doing. Origami. She liked origami. She was GOOD at origami. Better now that Dora had sent her a book on it. Maybe this lesson wouldn't be so bad. "Hi Professor." Sweet animals.
Spotting Eden, the thirteen year old took up the seat beside her and smiled. "Eden of the garden variety." Hello.
Emmylou made her way to History of Magic with a big smile on her face. She was in such a good mood from the letter that she had gotten from her aunt Raeanne about having her baby cousin already and that her baby cousin shared a birthday with his half sister aka her best friend Cinnamon. The blonde walked into the classroom and smiled. "Hello Professor." Was she making origami's? Emmylou beamed. She had always seen people make them but she didn't know how to make them. "Are you making origami?" Emmylou asked, was it alright to ask?

Zhenya had decided to head to History of Magic. She always liked history, but was excited to be back for History of Magic at Hogwarts! She saw the Professor as she walked in, and knew she hadn't met her before.
"Hi Professor," she said, wanting to introduce herself, "I'm Zhenya, fifth year." She gave her a smile and turned around to find a seat. There were no name tags or anything so she just chose at random, waving to a few people she knew on the way.
Enough said. Terrible subject. But the professor made it bearable enough to attend and somewhat enjoyable. Cinna had been trying to figure out how she was make her entrance because she knew that professor Glendower would have her sign up and ready.
She didn't know what she was going to do. She headed into the classroom maybe making her enterance would be her enterance. Yep that sounds like a plan. "Hello, Professor Glendower." origami? Cool. She watched Glendower for a minute. She wanted a paper origami duck.
She grinned at Emmy. She had the news already. Emmy had a new baby cousin, who also happened to be her baby brother. "Hey, Em." She beamed at her. The gryffindor headed on to a desk and took a seat, with Lux and Kace. "Hi guys." Big grins. She also seen two ravenclaws, Maddie and Eden. They both got a wave.

So History of Magic, then.
He looked forward to this class. HE DID. Glendower seemed to make it fun in the acting sense, even if he couldn't act to save his life. But this method of teaching was better than sitting there and listening to a boring lecture about this, that, and the other. The only thing HE was worried about, what with the OWLs rearing its freaking ugly head, was trying to remember all the dates linked in with certain events. Especially if said event was boring.
The entrance, though? A confident strut into the classroom.
What an entrance, man, what an entrance.
And Glendower? Was making some origami animals or something similar. "Hey Professor!" he called, giving her a nod and a smile, "Nice origami animals." Where was his mum to see that he actually had manners but was simply very selective about who he showed it to? Of course, he showed it to HER but strangers didn't deserve it. No way.
Heading over towards an empty seat, Grayson sat down and pulled out his things. Notes and whatnot. Kinda needed to take some.

Was it REAALLLYYY HoM time? Really? ... Could it not be later, or tomorrow? He just wasn't sure if he could handle it right now, in fact, he wasn't sure if he could handle anything that required paying attention right now.
He was SO inattentive that he didn't even notice the usual sign on the door. Not that it mattered anyway.
Once inside, he DID notice the Professor, and beamed a short smile her way... but he didn't notice the origami, or much of anything else really... he was lost in his own little world. In this way, he found his usual seat and claimed it.
In plenty of other History of Magic classes so far this term, Toby hadn't been too keen on the whole 'make an entrance' thing. But today he was positively brimming with happy energy once again, which he was partially putting down to having had to drink an excessive amount of Happiness Draught during the potions final. Tobias had never taken the antidote, and while the effects had mainly worn off over the past week or so, it still seemed to be affecting him, though he wasn't complaining at all.
And so the beaming Hufflepuff ended the room in a great sliiiiiiiiiide across the floor and through the door frame. The stopping business was a little trickier than he'd anticipated, and Toby had to take a couple of quick steps out of said slide, but then he was in, entrance made.
Tobias grinned up at Professor Glendower, about to greet her with a customary 'hello', but then he saw what she was DOING and BOUNCED a little on his toes. "Origami!" he said excitedly, pointing unnecessarily at the little paper animals. "I like to make origami roses. Oh, and hello Professor." Grinning, lots of grinning as the very peppy Toby went and took his seat by a window, and started getting out his things.

It was pretty much guaranteed that history of magic was going to be a good time. J was sure that she would not like this class at all considering that she thought history as a whole was boring, but Glendower sure did know how to make the class fun.
No entrance was made the last time she came to class so she decided to do so this time. AJ turned her back to the door and did a pretty epic moonwalk all the way into the classroom. "Hello, professor." Beams for her because she was pretty awesome.
Oh, there were a lot of familiar faces in the class and they all got waves. Hi everybody. AJ made her way over to the boyfriend and plopped herself down in a seat. "Hey you." He was having a fantastic hair day if she did say so herself.

Zander was feeling extremely overwhelmed as the end of the term was starting to approach. It felt as if every single Professor was starting to realize that the school year was almost over, so they all started bombarding them with things all at once. Not that Zander was complaining, but uh- well, he sort of was. Of course, History of Magic wasn't that bad. It wasn't as brain-hurting as Divination and it didn't come with the anger that was Wicked Walton. It also wasn't extremely hard to follow like Runes. It was more of an in between.
The subject would never be one of Zander's favorites, but Professor Glendower always did a nice job of keeping everyone awake, so you know what? He was actually pretty happy to come to this class today. It was kind of a break from all of the other headache inducing subjects at this school.
As he walked towards the door, he looked at the sign and couldn't help but chuckle at the 'respectfully' bit that was probably made just for Kevin. Since he had been working on the skateboarding thing recently, thanks to Kace, the Gryffindor set Cinna's board onto the floor- the one she let him practice with- and did the thing where he pushed off with one foot. Of course it didn't really end well, but LUCKILY he managed to catch himself before a big fall happened. Ahem.
"Hiya, Professor," Was that origami?

No matter how many times he saw Professor Glendower's sigh, Benny could never come up with or bring himself to make a entrance as he supposed she wanted. So like the other times, the fourth year simply walked into the classroom prepared for the latest History of Magic lesson. "Good day, Professor," he greeted as he noted the woman, curious as to what she was doing. Origami...was what he thought he heard from other passing students.
Maybe they would find out when class was begun.
"Hey..." he added as he walked further into the room towards Adi and AJ. He took a seat near the two and settled in to see what was up in the history class' agenda. Perhaps something with more dragon-related items.

History of Magic! Penelope made her quiet, respectful entrance, simply walking in to the room. "Hello, Professor Glendower!" Wre they going to be doing origami? It looked so fun! She would have to wait to see what they would be doing when class started.
Penelope waved to Maddie and Eden, and went over to where the two Ravenclaw girls were sitting. "Hi guys, mind if I sit here?" She sat down by them and got out a quill and parchment for taking notes.

It was History of Magic time and Jasmine arrived a little later than she had hoped. She was fresh out of "entrance" ideas so she had to come up with something quick. Finally getting an idea, she decided to use her Transfiguration class model walk. Waiting a moment to catch the beat of the music, she gave her best runway strut.
As she passed by, Jasmine said "Hello Professor Glendower. Hello everyone.". She found the nearest empty desk and sat down. Then after unpacking her things, Jasmine waited for class to begin.

Angel decided that she would put on a great show so she decided that she would do 5 cartwheels followed by a backflip... Once she was done she looked at the Professor. "Was that a good enough entrance Professor." Angel giggled as she looked a the Professor. "How are you today?" Angel then went and sat down on her own.

Caleb always raised an eyebrow at that sign. Make an entrance...nope, not for him. But he was going to do a little head bob to the music as he walked in anyways. There. Was that enough of an entrance? Because that was all she was getting.
"Hello Professor," he said, still being happy and respectful as he took his seat. Origami animals? Hmmmm...he wondered if that had anything to do with the lesson, or if the professor was just in the mood to do some origami.

Aren’t they fun?” Origami was not only relaxing but productive as well. She flicked her wand to allow one of the paper rabbits to hover in front of the girl for her to take, then handed her a square of paper in case she wanted to make a swan as well. Since she knew how, of course.

Blink. Blink, blink. Well.. that was some stunning acrobatics and Nessa certainly was not prepared for all of that. Nessa knew it was getting to be about that time so she put an end to her paper folding for now, turning her attention on the doorway just in case a few more students straggled in. Once the last of the students entered the room, Professor Glendower figured it was about time to begin class. "Good afternoon, class," she said, smiling widely as she walked out from behind her podium towards the center of the room. "I hope you all enjoy your Origami animals.. they are just something I like to do every once in a while if the mood strikes. We won't be learning how to make them in class today, but if you'd ever like to learn, I'd be happy to show you any time in my room next door." She had all sorts of creative things over there. And from what she heard, several students already knew how, so maybe they'd like to teach others. Fun!
"While Origami, per se, isn't the focus of our lesson, we are going to be focusing on a form of creativity. And that is to say we are going to be talking about Wizarding inventions throughout history. It often takes a creative mind to come up with something inventive that no one had thought of before. Now, we aren't talking about inventing spells, nor will we be talking about Muggle inventions, but we will talk about objects, devices, and products that have benefited or had an impact on Magical society..
"First.. why do you think people invent things or why do you think someone would have a desire to think up something new?"

Angel raised her hand. "Professor it depends... some people create stuff to make the world a better place... and others create stuff for fun." Angel looked at the Professor as she decided to explain her theory. "It's like some people come up with a completely new design... they say it comes to them in dreams or in a car or basically at anytime." Angel really thought that would be cool if it happened to her. "But then other people just create something new by accident... they could be tinkering with something old and they add something to it and it creates something totally different." Angel could have gone on and on but she decided again it.

Ooooh, a butterfly. Lux liked butterflies. They were so pretty and she loved her origami animal. "Thanks, Professor!" Maybe she would ask her to teach her how to do it some time soon, though obviously that wasn't the focus of today's lesson.
Magical invention sounded interesting and she wondered what activity they would be doing this lesson. Something really fun knowing Professor Glendower. She always made history more awesome. Raising her hand, Lux tried to answer the question. "I think it comes as a way to solve a problem or enable a person to do something they feel is necessary." Was it obvious that she was failing here? Because she really was not that sure about her answer. "Like the Cheering Charm was probably invented because someone saw a lot of grumpy people and figured a good way to solve the problem was to make a spell that BAM creates instant happiness!" Was it obvious that was her favourite charm?
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
Oh?
Lex watched curiously as the little paper fox made it's way to her desk. Did it do anything? Was it charmed to entertain? If not, that was fine too, she could entertain herself incendio-ing it--of course she'd wait until after on account of it being bad form to go casting random spells in the middle of class. For now, hello little fox, prove your worth before end of class, yeah? She kinda didn't wanna torch it. It was cute.
And distracting, Merlin yes it was distracting, Lex had to do some extra focusing to hear the question.
"People invent things when the things they currently have just aren't cutting it anymore, or they invent things when nothing currently exists to do specifically what they want to do."
Only reasons she'd invent anything right there.
