As you walk down the first floor corridor headed towards the History of Magic classroom, the faint sounds of music can be heard coming from that direction. It's not all that loud and seems more for the benefit of Professor Glendower as she is putting herself in the proper mindset for class.
Outside the classroom door hangs a large, ornate sign with the message, Make an Entrance. It is the same sign that hung outside the room last year, but she has written in her own flowery cursive the word Respectfully underneath it as she realized that some students needed the reminder. She was all about creativity and individual interpretation, but it was important to be nice too!
Once inside the classroom, you'll find Professor Glendower who might be singing along to the music as she happily dances through the rows of chairs, placing a chocolate frog on each desk. Welcome to History of Magic!
Cinna was pretty excited about this one she had a chocolate frog in her belly and two when she flipped over her card to see who she had gotten.... CELESTINA WARBECK... Well that was awesome. Her voice was amazing. Really it was.
This meant that she could sing the rest of the class time. Or try to sing. The only is this she didn't know a lot of her songs. So she would improvisation on that part. The songs she did know she didn't know all of the words to them, all but one. The one she heard everytime her dad's team played Puddlemere. It was their fight song. How weird would it be for the Tornadoes Mangers daughter to sing Puddlemere's fight song in the middle of a History of Magic lesson? Would her dad disown her?

Soph didn't mind so much that not everyone on a chocolate frog card was on there for a huge accomplishment - she still thought every person chosen to have a card was put there for some important purpose by the manufacturers - they obviously thought it was important to have them there and make an example of them, whether it was good or bad, to still make people want to continue to further society. She stood by that.
When they gained permission to look at their cards, the Ravenclaw felt her entire posture relax - she didn't even realize she was tense - as she turned the package over and pulled out her card. Oh. Well... that was an easy one, wasn't it? Soph peered in closely at the face of Glover Hipworth, already knowing just who he was and what he did, but she turned the card over and began to read veryyyyy, very carefully anyway. Sucking in all the knowledge, becoming the famous potioneer and trying to embody all that he was.
Got it.
Soph peered at the picture on the front of the card once more - the guy had no hugely defining features, maybe except for his facial hair, but unless she went ahead and changed her hair color to blonde, she didn't think the facial hair would make a difference. Not really. Not that... anyone really probably knew what the guy looked like anyway, but it certainly would have helped HER get into character better.
Oh well.
As she brainstormed ways to properly convey the man, maybe without giving too much away, Sophie caught Toby's eye - and did indeed pick up her belongings and follow him over to the group. Kyroh, Maddie, and everyone got a nod of acknowledgement, but once she took an empty seat, she immediately set to rummage through her bag for... a-ha! Even though she HAD some pepperup potion in there in case for emergencies, Soph figured that was giving too much away, if someone correctly identified the vial as such, so... she pulled a clear, empty potions vial from her bag and set that in front of her.
For a kid who liked to play up the dramatics a lot of the time, Toby had never been one for all this acting malarkey. And today, well, it seemed even more harder to try and do it. Like... getting into character. How did you actually do that? The Hufflepuff figured it might have something to do with... maybe empathy? He really hoped so, because empathy was one of those things Tobias had some real experience with.
He looked around the room for a moment, taking in the methods that everyone else was trying out and wondering how to portray his own famous wizard. Kyroh had a beard on his face, but Toby's card!dude didn't have a beard... just bright red hair. Maybe if-
But his train of thought was broken as Toby watched Soph pull out an empty potions vial from her bag. For a split second, he looked confused, then allowed himself to make that expression where you try to raise one eyebrow and then just failed... and then he smiled. Of course she carried around empty potions vials in her bag. Of course.
Still smiling to himself, Toby shook his head in amusement. Okay. Right. Character. Or........ maybe he could guess Soph's first. The Hufflepuff looked at his girlfriend and then the vial, and then back at his girlfriend.
"So have you..." Uhhh. "... brewed any good potions recently?" he asked, nodding at the vial as he spread his parchment out on the desk, picked up a quill someone had left there, and started drawing out what LOOKED like blueprints. Toby was trying to remember the Hogsmeade layout by heart, but he'd not really been very often so all he could really do was... try.
And write 'BRAND NEW ALL WIZARDING VILLAGE' at the top of his parchment. Hint. Hint hiiiiiiiiiint.
Thinking about it, people were much more likely to guess his card than he was to guess anyone elses. Toby barely knew a thing about these old famous witches and wizards; was always too busy charging about than to read the cards that came with the chocolate frogs.

Surprisingly, dressing up in props and stuff isn't anything new or embarrassing to Dec. He'd dress up in costumes for his mum's nursery children all the time when he helped around. It was fun and the smiles on the kids faces and the laughter they get from it, totally awesome.
Alright, time to find out who the lucky wizard he'd be portraying will be. Drumroll, puh-lease....
FUHHH-LIIIIPPP...
Declan scanned over it, only registering who he got a few seconds later.
O_____________O
KIRLEY DUKE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!?!?!?!!
AS IN THE KIRLEY DUKE?!!!
There was so much inner fan screaming happening right now. He gripped on to the desk as he slowly rode out the excitement.

Sophie stared long and hard at her empty potions vial, trying to figure out... how EXACTLY she should convey who she was. Should she... start sneezing and declare that she was in the process of creating a potion to cure the common cold... then mime brewing a potion and switch her empty vial for the one she had of pepperup potion in it? Certainly that would make things a little too obvious, but... it was a fair way to go. Or she could just boast purely of her accomplishment and make up some mumbo-jumbo about having had a cold for a month and finally brewing something to remedy it, save for the darn smoke that emitted from her ears. But most potions had side effects of some sort, didn't they?
She was snapped out of her thoughts when Tobes spoke up next to her, and her face broke out in a grin as she realized the game was on. No time more to plan anything - she had to decide then and there how she was going to go about it.
ACHOOOO!
Her fake sneeze was very played up so it was obvious it was a fake one and she covered her face with her hands, suddenly her expression miserable. She sniffed once and shook her head, feigning shame. "Not yet," she sighed, dramatically wiping at her entirely dry nose and coughing into her sleeve. "I'm about at my wits end here with this blasted cold, though. Had it for a week now - m'about ready to find a cure for it." HEHE. Get it? Was he following? She continued to look miserable, though, and very gently twirled the empty vial between her fingers and peeeeeeeeeeered at what Tobes was doing.
Blueprints of some sort? A map? "Brand new all wizarding village, eh?" One immediately came to mind, one she knew the founder to be on a chocolate frog card, but she played along and inquired further, "Where might that be located?" Being the entirely interested Glover Hipworth she was.

Errr........... say what now? Props? Guessing? THEY WERE PLAYING GAMES?!
....
This was an interesting approach to history, but alas, if he never had to see a doc study or an essay again in his life, it would be EPIC. This much, he could do.
However, upon glancing at his card, he let out an inward groan. NOOOOOOO. He was.... A GIRL?! This was going to be all sorts of awkward. And to make matters worse, it was not just any girl, it was the most ridiculous girl to have ever lived! Laverne de Montmorency.
An expert in love potions. Groooooosssssss.
Grudgingly, Zeke made his way over to the thing with the props and stuff and began looking for his... costume.... UGH.
Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when
Samantha had a really long and thorough look inside the costumes box. Finally, she found what to wear which was a long blue medieval dress, a pair of blue shoes and a long black wig. After carefully putting on her costume, Sam headed back to her desk. She sat with her spine straightened and her expression showed an air of superiority and darkness. It was part of the character.

This was NOT cool.
Why'd he have to get stuck with a girly card? Were they allowed to swap with people? Or did they just have to suck it up and deal with it? Zeke hesitated by the box of costume and prop stuff. He REALLY wanted to ask the Professor Lady if he could swap, but figured it was probably a waste of time, and at least somebody might be able to have a laugh at his expense.
"Uuuuuggghhhh..." Zeke dug his hands into one of the boxes, the chocolate frog card safe in his pocket for the time being. He felt around for a short while, and pulled out a few odd items, nothing really that he could use.
Until.....
He found a blonde wig.
T___________________T could he please go die now?
Zeke slipped on the long blonde wig and pretended that he was invisible. NOBODY COULD SEE HIM LIKE THIS! HE WASN'T REALLY HERE!
More props... more props...
In the end his search was fruitful. He didn't put on any dresses or anything, but he figured a small portable cauldron, and a plastic red rose would be enough clue of who he was anyway, considering the hair cleared up his gender confusion... or did it complicate it? Who knew?

Among her searching throughout the boxes of options, the third year Ravenclaw had managed to find a couple of things she could use. Carrying them back to her desk, she soon placed everything on her desk in front of her. The things she had grabbed were, a white apron, a serving tray, a goblet & a small enough cauldron she could carry.
She took a moment to pull her hair back into a ponytail & was then seen wrapping the apron around her tiny frame. Josie then paused briefly looking around at what everyone was doing to get into character. By the looks of it, this actually looked like it might be fun....MIGHT BE.
Turning her attention back to her items in front of her, she then placed the goblet on the serving tray & then picked up the tray balancing it with one hand. She placed her other hand on her hip and...posed?

Zeke was having a tough time with the long blonde hair... it got in his way, ON and AROUND him!!!! He swatted at it occasionally and kept trying to flick it over his shoulder. He didn't have much luck where that mission was concerned. On top of that, he felt an absolute fool holding a plastic rose and carrying a portable cauldron.
Ugh ugh ugh.
Stupid love potion creating crazy lady that died too long ago for him to care.
He wasn't the only one that looked ODD though, and a Ravenclaw girl was simply too funny. Zeke chuckled as he approached her. "Can I have a butterbeer please?" he asked jokingly, eyeing her tray and goblet. Hehehehehehe. "I think I can guess who you are... maybe...." Could he try? He could have a go at this whole 'process of elimination' thing. Heh.

First things first. If AJ wanted anybody to be able to guess who she was she was going to have to dress the part. Before she could make any clothes choices, she would have to read up on this Harry Potter person.
Looking at her chocolate frog once more, AJ read what was on there about Mr. Potter. Holy baseball! He was the only known wizard to survive the killing curse. How did he do that? He must be super magical. What's the triwizard tournament? WHOA! He actually defeated the dark lord! Whoever that was. Sounded like a pretty wicked dude.
Now how to dress for him? AJ walked over to where all of the items were and picked up a pair of glasses. That was a must. Hmmm.... what else would she need? She dressed in boy clothes and ruffled her hair to look messy. Now it would all come down to her acting skills to get somebody to guess who she was.

Ian was satisfied he'd done what he needed to in order to play his guy. He did one more once over and then it hit him. His costume wasn't quite what it needed to be. He looked into his satchel and pulled out a piece of charcoal he used for sketching and rubbed a rough outline around the reddish spots. Now, he felt like he was ready. Now to get into character. [i]How did one perform as the survivor of an erumpent goring. He guessed it would involve some limping and holding of the affected location.
Ian stood up, and began hobbling awkwardly around his area, moaning in mock pain. OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm.....OOOOOOOOOO OHHHHHHHHHHHmmmmmmm......OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHMMM MMMMMmmmmmmmm. That seemed to be a proper painful moan......soon, he had another epiphany and wandered up toward the front of the class, laid down on his side and holding the affected area, he began to roll back and forth, writhing in a mockery of agonizing pain, just like he saw on cartoons and Ferris Bueller.

Jasmine looked through the costume boxes, hoping to find something that would transform her into her famous witch. She kept hunting, searching for something Malifecent-like. She wanted to convey the look of Miss Wildsmith without looking too much like Lex. She wouldn't want to set off the Queen of Evil now that she was.........crazy not herself.
Finally, Jasmine found a black, rather creepy looking dress and a cape. "That should do it", she thought to herself. Just in case there was more to be found, Jasmine looked in the prop box. It was a good thing she did because she found some glitter in a little container that would be perfect for her floo powder. If only she could find some kind of crazy headdress to top off her outfit. No such luck though so Jasmine put on her costume. She took a moment to try to channel her inner Ignatia. Think Ravenclaw, creative, inventor, Herbology......OK she was ready.......she guessed. Holding her glitter in her hand, Jasmine went in search of someone to share guesses with.

Digging through the box of props the small girl pushed things aside to see what was at the bottom. There crammed into a corner and slightly rumbled up was a set of bright orange robes! Perfect! She tugged them out and began pushing out some of the wrinkles, a matching hat falling to the floor at her feet. Giggling the girl set the hat on her head pushing it back as it slipped over her eyes.
Slipping into the robes she frowned a little that they were so long they covered her feet. Oh well nothing she could really do about that right now. What she needed was a bit more for her costume. Once more shifting through the contents of the box she found a pair of half moon glass and placed them on.
So far so good her costume was coming along. She found a white beard with matching wig which she also put on, knowing that someone should know whom she was instantly.
Returning to her desk she removed the hat to put on the wig and beard which made her a bit itchy but she ignored that. Fixing the hat on her head once more she rummage through her bag and pulled out a few lemon drops. They were one of her favorites too.
Post 2; Xavier Rastrick (Anyone can grab him for guesses?)
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Ceorlic moved back to his desk, letting the taps shoes tap loudly as he moved. His long colorfully patchy coat dragging on the floor behind him. He took one more look at his card.
Well how hard could a dance performance be? Also how was he going to Vanish, and if he did wouldn't that make it difficult for the others to guess who he was? WOULD THAT MEANT HE WON? If no one guessed his Historical Figure if you considered Xavier Rastrick to be one
Time to find the mood. Maybe get a little Footloose in Hogwarts going?
The Scot tapped his toes finding the rythm that he needed. The he started to move his legs too. It wasn't really dancing just a jumbled mess of feet and leg flailing. Then his heel caught the back of his coat and he toppled over to the side. "Thare haes git tae be a beter wey tae jiggin" He mumbled furiously out loud to himself as he staggered himself back up.

One thing that Maddie was learning from this little activity was that SHE had excellent musical skills. Born to play the gu-err lute, she was. And though she wasn't a fan of the wrock star hair, she could SEE how the whole fame and fortune thing would be appealing. Perhaps she could get into this role after all.
Spotting a bearded Kyroh, the second year stopped her playing and raised her eyebrows. She was sure there were lots of bearded men on the chocolate frog cards so focusing on his expression and things he said would be more important, yeah? Time to play detective. She was EQUALLY as talented at THAT.
"Cool beard-" PAUSE. How did Herman talk, anyway? Maddie only knew ONE wrock star well and THAT was Nigel. So maybe she could channel HIM a bit right now? Cool. "-Man." The thirteen year old adjusted herself so that she was lounging in a relaxed manner at her seat, not a care in the world. After strumming the make-shift lute a FEW more times, she added, "So you got any skills?" Not that she cared because she was a wrock star and chill and going with the flow, man.

Ian rolled to his side and used his 'good' arm to push himself from the floor. Trying to stay in character, he hobbled over to him and looked him up and down.
You ok there, fella? Seems you took a nasty tumble with yer big coat and sparkly bottomed shoes. Cool sound there with the click-clacking on the floor. Don't know I've seen yer wizard on a card.

All the while she was standing by her desk in the same pose, which was starting to make her arm cramp, she was still faced with the fact that she was unsure if anyone would be able to take a guess at who she was supposed to be. Although, she felt as if it might not be that hard, right?
Her eyes widened a little bit as she saw a little girl with long blonde hair had approached her & was carrying a fake rose & a small cauldron in her arms. But it was the little girl started speaking did she find out that it was actually a boy & she felt entirely silly for not realizing before he'd even approached her.
Then the BOY had asked Josie if he could have a butterbeer & she cleared her throat before answering in a bit of a shaky voice, "U-Um, sure!" She plastered on a smile before she started to lower the tray down onto the table in front of him. Josie placed the goblet in front of him & then said in her most grown up voice she could channel, "Enjoy! A-And try not to spill that, j-just got these floors waxed.." Did that help? New flooring? Like she had just built & waxed that floor? Please say it at least helped a little.
On the other hand, she began to puzzle in her brain who she thought he might be, but she wasn't entirely sure. She studied him briefly before asking, "F-First, u-um are you a boy or girl? N-Not that I'm saying you're actually a girl, b-but um are y-you portraying a girl?" Was she allowed to ask that question? Perhaps better to ask another, "A-Are you an i-inventor?"
Okay. She knew OF this woman, the founder of her own house hence the name but she didn’t know what exactly she was like. It was a start at least, she could offer some rather obscure or rather obvious clues like pointing at her uniform. Still.. “Professor?” her hand raised as she bit the bottom of her lip slightly. “What about those of us who are muggleborn? Can we look at our textbooks to see who these people were?” Cos you know, she didn’t know where to start.
Walking around the room a bit, Nessa smiled widely, watching with a hint of excitement as her students began turning their cards over to see just who they had gotten. As they took the time to read over the information and think for themselves how best to portray their person, she noticed a hand in the air and she hurried over yo the Ravenclaw to see what she needed. "Oh of course you can!" she said with probably a little more enthusiasm than was needed. Really, all this was about was learning more about those prominent people on the cards and doing it in a fun way. It wasn't a test or anything like that. "And that goes for everyone.. however you feel best to learn about your witch or wizard and get into character.. if you need your textbook as well, go right ahead." If they needed a little more information than was found on the card, then feel free!
Nessa continued her way around the room, watching as the students began to get into the props and costumes at the back of the room. So exciting! She loved this part of class when history came alive for all the young souls in her classroom! She watched a few interact with their classmates, beginning to retell their story and begin the guessing game.. but many remained at their seats. Hmm.. still trying to get into character? Or need a little guidance? She decided to err on the side of caution and make sure they all knew what they were to be doing.
"Alright, class," she addressed those still in their seats once many of them had gotten a prop or donned part of a costume. "Once you are ready.. find someone else to talk to. Give them so clues and facts about who you are to see if they can correctly guess. Then have them do the same to you to see if you can figure out who they are as well!" At least to start.. then if there was time, they could try with another person. Maybe she should get in on the fun as well. She reached over at her podium and grabbed an extra chocolate frog, opening it up to see who was on her card. Brown eyes snapped up before she took a look however.. was that tap dancing she heard?

Jasmine was trying her best to look creative, innovative and inventor-ish while holding her glitter floo powder out for everyone to see. Then she noticed the tap shoes. A boy was gyrating (dancing?) around when suddenly he tripped on his costume. "Are you OK?", Jasmine asked as he stood up. "I'm guessing you're a dancer. Am I right?" Hopefully she was right because that would narrow down the choices considerably.
Jasmine tried to think of other questions for the Tap Dance Kid. "Do you have any other talents besides dancing?", she asked. She was going to guess this character correctly, or else.

Ooooohhh... wait.... were they supposed to be ACTING too? Is that what she was doing? Is that what HE was supposed to be doing? HOW WAS HE SUPPOSED TO ACT LIKE SOMEONE HE DIDN'T KNOW?!?!!?................. This was all sorts of riduculous, and he was regretting dressing up now. SUPER regretting. But for some reason he played along. He bowed, like a gentleman - despite the hair, and accepted the goblet. Don't spill it? On the waxed floors? "Uuuhh... okay," he mused. Was that supposed to be a clue? Perhaps, but ... BUT!!!!!! SHE'D GONE ALONG WITH IT! She was SERVING him Butterbeer. So so so.... "You ran a pub place, didn't you?" he questioned, eyeing the tray again. He couldn't think what else she might have been. Certainly not a maid, they had elves for that in the wizarding world.
"I'm definitely a boy, promise." HE WAS NOT A GIRRRRLLLLL!!!! "But....... yeah, okay, yes, I'm PORTRAYING a girl." He emphasised the portraying with quotation marks in the air, only he was fumbling with the cauldron and rose. Ravenclaw girl was on the right track though. "I am... kinda, YES... definitely." At this point he pointed to the crest on her robes. "Of course... it takes one to know one," he said trying his best to hint at a clue, but feeling as if he was failing. "You know, someone smart." Which he was NOT.
Feeling a pang of guilt for his lack of helping, he let out a girlish giggle and blew the Ravenclaw a kiss. PLEASE LET THAT HELP! He didn't fancy failing this class because he couldn't act.
Eden thought maybe she needed props. But what props would she even use? He was a dude--he was blonde, and pretty normal looking for that time period. She didn't know what the heck kind of props to use here--he was just--a unicorn guy! A unicorn-obsessed guy. SO she went over to the little trunk of the props and stuff they could use. Now what. She tried to find like a manly, old-timey looking shirt or vest or something. Maybe there was a fake unicorn horn in there?
She approached the box and waited for it to clear first, and then began to dig around in it a little. OKAY. She found like, an old-1700ish vest thing. Not exactly, maybe, but it would do. So she put it on...and she also found a mustache-OKAY. That was BETTER. She stuck it on and giggled at just how tickly it was! She then searched for the last prop--a unicorn horn. Hopefully not a real one.
OY!
She FOUND one and pulled it out quickly before trying to find someone to guess with her...she had her horse/unicorn noises DOWN though. heh. And now she had an actual HORN.
SPOILER!!: Jasmine

She saw the prefect, Jasmine, needed a partner, so Eden approached her quickly, smiling all big, and waved. "Hi--you'll guess with me? I mean--like--you guess me, and I'll guess you--" she was nervous, so everything she said didn't sound like it made sense. But she was going to DO this and be GOOD at it.
But. How good was Eden at historical figures? Not...very good at all -___-

Angel looked at the box, she was just about to go and get ready when she suddenly remember she didn't know anything about Lufkin... what did this person do to get famous... she was muggle born but knew at lot but this name was new to her.
Angel decided that she had best get more information otherwise she wouldn't be able to get into character. Angel looked at the card some more and smiled... how odd was it that she had given the idea of a minister being on a card and her was this witch that became minister... and look she had been a Hufflepuff so maybe not all of them were silly though why hadn't she got sorted into Gryffindor if she was clever enough to be a Minister of Magic.
She knew Dumbledore was always begged to be Minister but he refused and she admired him for that but now she had some information on the Witch she had chosen so she could get into character. But what to wear.
Eden had given him a thumbs up at his answer? Archie BEAMED back, and gave her a wave in return. And the smile continued with Professor Glendower's response. He nodded along with what she said, and made an effort to write down some notes too.
Now...a game? Archie bounced in his seat little, before carefully taking the card out of his chocolate frog box. He'd finally decided to save the chocolate for later, and he didn't want it escaping around the classroom. Chocolate frogs could be jumpy for sure, and Professor Glendower probably didn't want him scampering all round the classroom to recapture it.
Having safely obtained his card and repositioned the lid, Archie turned it over and cupped it secretively in his hands. "YES!" he exclaimed aloud, finding it to be one of the ones he hadn't already got in his collection. And what an awesome one to act out too! Now he needed a long grey moustache and beard, maybe some new red/gold robes and the best bit...a DRAGON! Oh yeah!
Cutty had seen the witch on his card before. It was in his mother's bedroom on the back of the box to her Spellbound parfume. It even had a brief bio. He found himself, even then, full of admiration for the witch who seemed to have perfected the old trick of making people feel ugly enough to give you their money in bags and bags. Yer ugly now fork it over! That was basically what was going on there.
What must it have been like to have been a witch?
Meanwhile, his frog continued the struggle to escape from it's skewered position.
