Gryffindor Game Lounge [ map ]
|
Gwen :) He'd been exploring the common room a bit, wondering what else there was in here when he'd come across the game lounge which had definitely intrigued him... though he had no clue what to try. The piano was most familiar, though he'd never been that good in playing it... Still he went over there... plopping himself down before wondering about what he'd play. |
Quote:
"Hey Leo. You play?" She pointed to the piano. She had never been musically inclined herself. She just kept to her doodles. The awesome lion could wait for his pats. |
Quote:
"You?" he asked, realising that he didn't really know that much about the other Gryffindor. |
Quote:
She shook her head. "Nope. I was never really that good at musical things. That and both of parents didn't really see it as something to learn. I like to doodle though." And that was as artistic as she got. Her crazy little doodles. |
Quote:
"Really? I was never good at drawing... you'll have to show me some of the doodles then" he teased with a smile, grinning at her. |
Quote:
"I'm not either. They're just crappy little doodles." There was no way she would ever go around calling herself an artist. The title just didn't fit her. "But I can show them to you. There probably gonna be all over bits of parchment from class." |
Chance! Okay, so it had to be said... the game room was awesomesaucesome. AJ was stoked that this little room had been invented. Without really knowing what she wanted to do, the lion plopped down on a comfy bean bag chair. This was nice and cozy. Now she didn't want to get up. She laid all the way back and crossed her feet at the ankles. For now she would just sit in silence and watch the roaring flowers. How very fitting. |
Quote:
Game room. Chance needed a break from classes and a little bit of free fun. No brain thinking, no praciticing anything. Besides, the four years that Chance had been at Hogwarts, he had never actualy been inside this room. Deciding it was time, Chance walked into the game room and looked around. It looked decent enough. Seeing another Gryffindor in there that looked younger, Chance got a great idea. On the bulletin board had been something about big/little Gryffindor challenges. Walking over to the younger Gryffindor sitting on the bean bag chair, he smiled. "Hey! Im Chance. Chance Coeur. Mind if I it?" Because really, you didnt want to sit with strangers. Introductions were good for first off. |
Quote:
"Well I'll keep an eye out for them, they're probably a lot better than anything I could do" he really sucked at drawing. Even stick figures. He couldn't even draw stick figures properly. |
SPOILER!!: Chance The lion was staring at the flowers, and soon the shapes were starting to shift. She would close her right eye and squint with her left, and then change it up and do the same for her left eye. The mind could play tricks on you. Before she knew it her eyes started to droop. There was something about roaring flowers that could really put a Gryffindor to sleep. Right before she could completely go under their spell, she heard a voice nearby. Oh, it was a lion that she had never met. A huge smile was on her face as he introduced himself. "Hey Chance. Chance Coeur. I'm Aubrey Valentine, but please call me AJ." Nobody called her Aubrey except maybe a few professors. She was totally down for making new friends. "Nope, not at all. Pull up a bean bag." |
SPOILER!!: AJ Pulling up a bean bag, Chance plopped down into it and looked happy as he sat next to Aj. No, it wasnt a 'hey girl whats your number' grin. It was a 'my plan is going splendidly well' grin. "Nice to meet you Aj! Im guessing you are a first year or a second year right?" Chance asked. She looked young. Well, younger than he did. Heck, he was just going to cut to the chase. "So, you know the Gryffindor bulletin board? Know the announcement about the Big/Little?" Chance asked, because obviously she had to know about it. |
Someone had told her there was Quidditch in the Common Room. It wasn't exactly what she'd had in mind but they weren't lying, there was a table, there were the required amount of player pieces and Lex had enjoyed herself a game of Quidditch. It was the closest it seemed she would ever come to the game while she was stuck in this place--because obviously Alice and Mo would be getting her tickets ALL the time once this place was behind her. It was just a matter of waiting it all out. After the snitch had been caught for maybe the third...or was it the fourth time, she let the pieces go inanimate again and flopped into one of the bean bag chairs, letting herself siiiiink in before opening her arms to welcome Felix. The kneazle had never been one to wait for an invite but it was a force of habit. "We could play exploding snaps at the table next." She suggested. He enjoyed explosions almost as much as she did...only almost. |
Quote:
Zahra was seated nearby in one of the bean bag chairs, trying to paint her fingernails and do something that resembled homework. Whatevs. The Head Girl's arrival near her was distracting enough that she put the parchment and paint away. ....she didn't like Alexa anymore now that Mikey was gone, she found. In fact, just looking at her made Zahra feel worse, so she blatantly turned her bean bag chair around to get a new view. |
Quote:
Oh? It was a little rude you know? Just turning away from someone like that. It might have been a coincidence and there were ways of checking that...like....pulling out your wand and levitating the bean bag over to you. It saved you the trouble of having to walk across the room to ask questions that might prove themselves unimportant in the end. It wasn't til mid-levitation that she saw just who it was. Well then.....This was....did she just...put her down...? Or....? How curious. |
Quote:
Much better. Zahra could see the fire, and the wall, and maybe even a little view from the window with this new vantage. No Head Girl. Perfect. She might even start her homework again... Yes. Good. Homework. Zahra scrambled around looking for her quill, which had dropped from her lap when she turned her chair. As she swiveled around and angled to retrieve it, Z noticed the Head Girl watching her. "What?" she asked accusingly. |
Quote:
The tone had her kneazle hissing but she dropped her hand, running her fingers through his fur to sooth him. "She doesn't have to be nice, Felix." She reminded the temperamental ball of fur. "We're technically bothering her," hazel eyes moved over to the girl now, "right Zahra? Bothering you so much you had to turn around earlier?" Must have been the way she flopped down in her chair the way she did--no, it had to be the content look on her face as she squished into the chair--ridiculous, it was her existence, knowing that girl. "You wouldn't happen to have seen Mikey around, would you? Think he'd like the new Quidditch game we got." He'd have preferred the actual game but this would have been a nice substitute. Good way to pass time too. Lex could have asked what got her royal highness' knickers in a fancy knot today but the girl would only tell her it wasn't her business and quite rightly so. 'Sides, she didn't particularly care, it was Zahra, Merlin knew what went around in her head. |
SPOILER!!: Chance <3 Chance seemed to be in a very good mood, or perhaps he was one of those always cheery kind of people. It just so happened that AJ was down with that. She was almost always in a good mood. He plopped himself down in a bean bag, and she flashed him a smile. "Comfy, aren't they?" "It's nice to meet you as well." Maybe she could get another friend out of their little chat, and who didn't want more friends? "I'm a second year. What year are you in?" He was older than her, but it couldn't be by much. This one cut right to the chase, and AJ could respect that whole no nonsense attitude. That was how you got things done. "Yeah. Wanna be my big lion?" she asked as she wiggled her eyebrows. "I am a super fun girl, and you won't be disappointed." Not that she had to sell herself. He had scoped her out. |
Quote:
Coming down from the bean bag high, Chance focused on AJ. She was right on track with him. He could respect that. "I like where your head is at AJ! I knew when I glimpsed you, we would become friends!" He said with a boyish grin. "Just so happens, I am a super fun boy and you won't be disappointed!" he said. Then his hand hit the bean bag chair again, and his hand was pinching it. The beans inside felt squishy. Ahhh... bean bag chair! |
Quote:
In hindsight, attempting homework in the game room had been really dumb. The moral of this story was to just not do homework, Zahra figured. At least the Head Girl had THAT right. She was definitely bothering Zahra, though unlikely Alexa knew just how or why. THEN the Head Girl went and made it a gazillion times worse. At least that worse. Maybe more. Poor Zahra's heart broke and she couldn't really answer because if she did, then she might start crying, and Gryffindors don't cry, ESPECIALLY not her. NOT NOW, NOT EVER. ...so Zahra just shook her head. No, no she could honestly say she hadn't seen Mikey around. She turned back around quickly before the Head Girl could get any ideas or see how hard she was fighting to not be a crybaby. |
SPOILER!!: big lion AJ looked on as Chance got to know his bean bag chair a little better. "Not the first time you've ever sat in one, is it?" Because AJ could understand the amazement especially if this was his first time ever. The chairs were heavenly. They formed to your body just right. Did they just become best friends? "I do have a lot going on up here," she said as she pointed to her head. "And you have good taste." Because AJ was a really good friend to have. Of course she could be biased. She was a fun girl, and he was claiming to be a fun boy. "You giving me high expectations here." She expected him to be a super fun, adventure seeking lion now. Don't disappoint her Chance. "So, let's do it then." |
Quote:
...... No answer. Yeah. Wow. Helpful Zahra was helpful. Lex's head flopped back onto her squishy seat and she allowed herself to wonder why she bothered trying with a girl who was ready to pop her one without tolerating her company well. The sudden turning might have been the end of the conversation, in fact she was sure it was...so why wouldn't she accept that? She wasn't quite sure. "Wouldn't have killed you to answer, you're his other half. Could save me a lot of walking if you did." Lex didn't wait for an answer but instead lightly shoved her kneazle from her lap and got to her feet. She rounded on the Gryffindor, allowing her curiosity to override her annoyance. "How do you still hate me." Perfectly innocent question. She legit wanted to know, just for knowing. That's it. |
Quote:
Kind of? It did kind of kill her to answer this question over and over. Wasn't at least THAT much obvious? But Zahra wasn't NO BABY so she sucked it up, wiped her face, and put on a snarl. "He's at Durmstrang. So dress warmly when you start walking." Grrrr. ... That would make her so mad.. If Lex got to see him before her... She ALREADY got his first kiss... "With ease." That's how. Or, well, that was kind of a lie and Zahra felt bad almost immediately after she said it. Sigh. SIGH. The snarl melted away and Zahra was nearer to the ugly crying place again. "... you know how it is." Surely the Head Girl KNEW why Zahra got all RAWR at her. Surely. Gosh. Merlin. |
Quote:
Lex...didn't try hiding her surprize. Michael Toussaint had transfered to Durmstrang and never bothered to tell her he wouldn't be coming back?? Wow. WOW. An owl would need to be written, have Dax tell Mr. Toussaint how disgruntled by having to find out this way she was but she thought better of it. No note. None. She couldn't believe he'd leave without saying so. "Oh." She finally managed once she'd regained some composure. That was all she could say about that though, JUST 'oh'. Took her a moment to come back to what Zahra said. Hating her with ease. Fancy. Lex accio-ed her squishy chair over and flopped in it again. "'Fraid I don't know." And not because she was being difficult either. "Not that it was ever a competition but you had Michael didn't you? And you never had to wonder if we were off snogging. I already told you ages ago I wasn't interested like that so....no, I really don't know how it is." Or maybe she wasn't being fair about it. She wasn't trying to sit in Zahra's trousers to figure it out, it was purely from her standpoint and where she stood, she never liked anyone nearly enough, ever. "I might know, if I wasn't me." She added as a small afterthought. Lex was quite inept at such things. |
Quote:
Good taste? Chance had great taste! "I have great taste!" See? Told ya. "Besides, my eyes are kinda trained on spotting out the good people." Chance said, trying to act all serious like he was a professional person seer. But, he wasn't.... that he knew of anyways. "Lets do this! Okay so the first challenge was...." Chance thought but the first challenge didn't come to his head. Turning in his bean bag, yay bean bag, he grabbed a note out of his back pocket. "Show your favorite place." Chance thought for a minute. He had many great places. |
Quote:
Zahra wasn't going to spell it out to Lex. Besides, at this point, what did it matter? Mikey was stuck at Durmstrang for the year. She wasn't really surprised that Mikey hadn't told Lex - not because he didn't count Lex as a friend, but more... it was just hard to do. And maybe, like her, he'd thought that MAYBE his mother would have changed her mind over the summer. "It doesn't matter who you are, or who I am, blah blah blah doesn't matter. The point is - he isn't here, I'm sad about it, and looking at you doesn't really make me feel any better." So there was that. "But congrats on that whole Head Girl thing. I know Mikey would have congratulated you and junk." |
SPOILER!!: Chance is so cute! Considering that Hogwarts was a magical school, they sure did have lots of muggle items. AJ wasn't complaining though. The muggle items were a nice touch since she came from a non magical background. It felt like home. "It is heaven on your butt. I like how it forms a nice butt pillow for you." He got it. "Oh, I want a bean bag bed too." In case he was taking orders or anything. He got a big smile. "You do." She laughed. He was most likely one of those people who would actually see stuff in Divination. AJ wasn't knocking it, she had just YET to see anything, that's all. "Professor Morgan will love you." Once he agreed to be her big lion AJ was pumped. The lion waited while he searched for the info. "That's tough. There are so many awesome places here." Maybe she could narrow hers down while he took her to show off his favorite place. She leaped up. "So, where are you taking me?" |
Quote:
"So what are you going to do about it?" She asked, lazily following her kneazle's movements as he tried curling up above her head with whatever room he could find up there. "You miss him and it makes you sad but what then?" Was she going to sulk through the time like someone had offed Mikey and she'd never see him again? Lex didn't know much about the girl except that she could snap at any second and go back to 'OMG LEAVE ME ALONE YOU UGLY NUTTER' so she was trying for the sensitivity thing, in case she was into that sort of thing but it was hard. "Reckon you'll let yourself stay sad for the rest of the year?" As for her new position, she gave a small shrug. "Er....Thanks." He'd have tried convincing her the badge suited her too but the Gryffindor remained unconvinced. All it was was bigger and uglier than the Prefect badge. Heavier too. |
Quote:
"Mum and Dad won't let me go to Durmstrang," Zahra had asked, you know? "'sides, his parents sent him because of me anyway. They'd just move him again, so there's nothing to do but wait." Wait for 17 then they could apparate and be of age and do whatever they wanted. It wasn't like Zahra wasn't ACTIVELY trying to stop... moping... just sometimes...particularly here in the Gryffindor Tower, it got the best of her. Gryffindor wasn't the same without Mikey. "... you make it sound like I have a choice. No one asked my opinion, no one ever does, so ... I dunno. I'm not trying to be sad. It just... you wouldn't understand." There had to be something else to talk about. Literally anything else. "Can I hold it?" the badge. It'd be the closest thing Zahra ever got to getting one, with how the Professors HATED ON HER. |
Quote:
Gwen let her fingers slowly go over the keys. It sounded right...just at a very, very slow pace. "I can show you one of my old books sometime...or the map I've started to doodle." He was a first year too. The map could come in handy. |
Quote:
She could have told her she had a choice too and that there were ways of distracting from the sad to help a little but pushing further wasn't the best choice so she shrugged. "You're right, I wouldn't understand. I've never lost people close to me and I've never tried getting over the sadness. Never been a victim of a tragedy." But sarcasm wouldn't help either so Alexa went quiet for a moment until her badge was the new topic. "Sure thing." She unclipped it and tossed it lightly at her. "Got this First Year to polish it, kid seemed eager enough and wouldn't stop looking at me with doe-y eyes til they were happily wiping and shining." Whatever that was about. |
Quote:
"Nice" he commented, still beaming at the girl. Yup he was celebrating her success much more than she was, but oh well! "Yeah that'd be cool! And you've started a map already? How far have you gotten?" That would probably be a good idea, and would probably save her from getting lost in the embarrassing way that Leo kept managing to. Oh well. |
Quote:
Well.... IF SHE UNDERSTOOD THEN WHY WAS SHE ASKING/SAYING DUMB THINGS? Zahra thought about yelling at her, but for once - you know, thought. Then actively decided it wasn't worth her time. Weird process, this thinking before doing thing. Less satisfying. "Sarcasm is a Ravenclaw thing and Ravenclaws suck. Don't suck, especially as our Head Girl." She snatched the badge away and held it up to her own shirt to see how it would look pinned there. |
Quote:
She watched her fiddling with the badge. "Future ambition?" It's not like it couldn't happen. If you could give her the Head Honcho badge then Zahra could get it too on the principle that the Headmistress made bad decisions that the rest of the students had to suffer for. Though Lex would try being decent but yeah, it just wasn't a good idea. |
Quote:
RIGHT? Those blue clad jerks... they REALLY just got under Zahra's skin. "To be so "SMART" they really don't make a lot of sense. And then they THINK they do," Z tapped her head. "I'm so glad to not be one of them." LIKE WHEW. DODGED A ROGUE BLUDGER THERE. Oh her? Zahra laughed and tossed the badge back to Lex. "It'd be a silly one. The Professors aren't big Z fans and there other girls, like Marigold, who probably deserve it more." But it might be cool to be Head Girl, yeah, sure. Who WOULDN'T want that?? |
Quote:
"Thanks." See. Still super beamy. She nodded. "Yeah. Just basic outlines and where all the lessons are. I was just worried about being late. I didn't want to lose points or get in trouble." That would not be a fun way to start the year. |
Quote:
Well done Leo! He mentally hi-fived himself for what he'd done. He enjoyed making others happy... and he's often been told his personality was infectious which was just proven! "That seems like a good idea... I kinda just try to find someone to tag along with because I haven't really figured it out yet, but I've only gotten lost once and haven't been late yet so that's a good start"... at least he hoped it was. "But I'd still love to see your map!" he really would. He thought it was cool! |
Quote:
"I can show it to you now. Just gotta run back to my dorm." She wouldn't mind. |
SPOILER!!: DO noT! lol "Ill be sure to keep that in mind." Chance said laughing about her wanting a beanbag bed too. Not that he could actually give her one. He wasnt allowed in the girls dormitory. It was a no-no and he would just go slipping down the stairs if he tried. Professor who? "Who? What Professor is that?" Chance was never good with Professor names, he just got in and did his thing and got out. Point blank! Homework entered and wala! Pass the class. Getting a great idea, Chance picked up his wand out of his sock. With a little twitch and that magical words, "Wingardium Leviosa!" Chane was in the air, with his bean bag. With a little movement on his wand, he was moved from side to side. The grin on his face became HUGE as he winked in excitement at AJ. "Ill show you my favorite place, when you play bumper bag with me." DId he just make up a new game? I think he did! |
SPOILER!!: FUN Chance "I hope so." Because if she found out that Chance had a beanbag bed and he didn't share, AJ would be mad. Maybe not mad exactly, but she wouldn't be happy. "I can help you make one." Just throwing that out there. She actually knew something that a fourth year didn't? "She's the Divination professor." AJ still was undecided about the class, but the professor was super cool, and she almost always had snacks and drinks. What more could you ask for? In the middle of their conversation Chance levitated himself and his beanbag. "Wicked." Bumper bag? Why didn't she think of that? That sounded like so much fun. One problem though, AJ was not familiar with that spell. Wingardium Leviosa. She rolled the words over on her tongue. "Wingardium Leviosa," she said while copying his wand movements. Nothing happened. "No fair. How did you do that?" Help a sista out! |
SPOILER!!: Always Unicorn loving AJ Help make one?? Chance thought about it and then his smile grew on his face. Of course she could help! He wasnt super good at Transfiguration anyways. He was okay at it, knew the ropes, but producing those ropes into something as great as a bean bag bed?? Yea, he would need some help. "Help is much appreciated!" Chance said with the same smile. "I mean, Im pretty good, but a whole bed as a bean bag bed? A litle out of my lead." Ahh! Divination teacher! No wonder Chance didnt know the name. "Ahhh! Thats right! I hate that class which is why I probably didnt know. " Yea. Thats his story and he was sticking to it. Chance was sailing through the air, a little rocky, but he was doing it! "Switch your wrist. Its a certain way you have to do it and really burst out with Leviosa." Chance said, trying to help a girl out. |
SPOILER!!: unicorns are LIFE He seemed to be stoked about AJ offering her help, and she totally got that. Nobody wanted to do more work than they had to. No need to mention that she was rubbish with spells. He didn't need to know everything. Besides, she had been practicing more so there was a possibility of a break through. "Cool." Happy helper here. "I'm sure between the two of us we can figure it out." If not, then she could consult her prefect of a boyfriend. He could do anything. "I don't know if I believe in all that crystal ball reading, but the professor is totally cool, and she always has snacks." You wouldn't hear any complaining from her. "Plus, you can't fail because you can just make stuff up." It was a beautiful thing. She took note of his corrections, and tried it again. "Wingardium LEVIOSA" Swish and flick. She was rising. "I did it, I did it." She was floating in the air ON a bean bag chair. Life didn't get much better than this. AJ floated right over to where Chance was and bumped into him. She didn't waste any time. |
Quote:
Then AJ was trying the spell again and the next thing she did was start flying. Chance grinned. "Youre a natural!" Chance said smiling. "Im surprised you didnt learn that spell. I feel like I learned that spell in my first year. But maybe I had learned it in my second year." Grinning, Chance bumped back into Aj and went flying across the room. "Come on!" |
SPOILER!!: Chance The snacks were life. "You can make anything up and still pass. You can't ask for anything easier than that." You couldn't pull that off in the other classes, and those professors surely wouldn't appreciate that. She was flying... on a bean bag. This was insane. No, this was awesome. "Thanks." A natural, AJ liked the sound of that. She shrugged her shoulders. "I'm not that good with spells." Plus, she honestly wasn't sure if she had used that spell before. Either way, she was in the air now and that was all that mattered. A giggle escaped as Chance bumped into her. This was so much fun. Oh, were they going to fly over to his favorite spot in the castle? Because AJ was so down for that. "Lead the way." |
CoMC Post 10 Puck had followed Nimue and Kai as they circled the room twice, spinning, twirling, and soaring around the room. She really rather liked the two faeries and wondered what would have happened to them had she not told anyone. Biting her lip she thought she had lost them again even if she hadn’t, she still felt that way. “Where are you guys?” She wondered as they flitted about around her. She didn’t see them for a while, not until the flash of pink dashed before her eyes. With a swift, soft movement she raised her hand to where the fairy was flitting about and watched as both Nimue and Kai would fly up and around her hand. They would fly up, around, and down – the little ordeal took a little bit of time. After what seemed like five minutes of continuous flittering the little fairy landed on her hand. Carefully she placed them back into the jar before heading off. |
CoMC (9) Uh, had he not been chasing his fairies around the entire room, the Gryffindor would have definitely noticed the display case for the memorial they made. Beautiful Bentley's memorial to be exact. And no, contrary to popular belief-or well Zander's previous beliefs- memorials weren't actually only for the dead. They were just to remember really important people and Beautiful Bentley was and is and will always be a VERY important person. Just, right now there were other important things to attend to. These important things being two very hyper fairies. You'd think after being cooped up in a jar all day, they'd be tired and too lazy to fly around. WELL NOPE. They were as energized as ever. Which may have had to do with it being feeding time half an hour ago, BUT STILL!!! So right, uh Zander was doing his best to avoid knocking down all the games around him. He just needed to catch these darn fairies. If only Ethan had been here, the two of them really did make quite a good fairy catching duo. But unfortunately no Slytherin's allowed in here. It was like a rule or something. Anyways, FAIRIES! THEY WERE SO FAST, Merlin. And just as the thought crossed his mind-- FAIRY! He unscrewed the top of the jar as quickly as he could and woah. That was easy. Had it not seen the jar was right in front of it? Uh. No questions asked. Nope. At least he caught one. Now the other one wouldn't be as easy. ........... And a half hour later........... Still no second fairy. It just kept flying around his head in mockery! NOT COOL FAIRY, NOT COOL!!! Angrily lifting his wand into the air, Zander cast the freezing charm and-- Woah. Had he really done that in one go? AWESOME! He scooped the little guy into his hands in stuffed him into the jar and well that was quite the workout. For both the fairies and Zander too. |
Divi Post 2 What were the odds Snow White would be in the Game Lounge? Well why don't you ask the magic mirror that Lex didn't have? It usually had all the answers yeah? The bloody 'Queen' should have given them some if she really wanted them finding the imaginary girl that bothered her so much. Next time she tried spooking a Professor, she'd choose something that was a little easier to find in the event this was the outcome again. Once again she held up the mirror, putting on a grand show as if she was checking it before catching the reflection of her kneazle on one of the game tables. What did he find so interesting about a game he most certainly didn't know how to play? "You're meant to be helping me here." She reminded him but that didn't garner so much as a flick of his tail in her direction. Even he knew this was a farce. She'd trained him right. Alexa meandered around the furniture set up around the game lounge, pretending that moving about and holding the mirror very high would produce better results. Of course there was no such luck and she was ready to move on. "Still nothing. Let's go." |
Benny Angel decided that she wanted to play a game but unfortunately she was on her own and now she was totally bored... she just had to hope that Benny was totally on the same wavelength and decided that she would wait and see if he turned up... it would be cool if he was and then maybe she could find out what he was going to be doing this summer. |
