Homework, homework, homework. AJ hated homework. At the very least she was happy about this being a hands on activity. That was always much better than having to write an essay or do any kind of work that involved a quill. She was not about that life. The second year made her way down to the greenhouse. AJ was ready to get dirty. There were already a few people there, but she paid them no mind. All she was concerned about was getting her hands on a bouncing bulb.

First things first. AJ reached into her bag and pulled out her protective gloves. The professor wouldn't have any sympathy if she went and got her fingers lopped off or something because she wasn't being "safe." Not to mention, she heard bad things about the healer woman, and didn't have any intentions of seeing her anytime soon.

Pots and soils... she needed that. The cupboard was already open, and AJ helped herself. It was time to get down to business.

AHA! Got the bouncing bulb! Rumpelstiltskin grinned and carried it back to his station. There were more people there now, so Rumple watched them as he continued his planting of the bulb so he could see if anyone really stood out to him. He was always recruiting minions, you know!

Alright, next step - fill the pot with soil. Only halfway, though! He set down the bulb and went over to the workbench, grabbing some soil and filling his pot until he had half the pot filled with the dark brown dirt. Alright, time to move on...the sooner he got this done, the better...

Now which bouncing bulb was she going to choose? AJ made her way over to the cart where several of them were. Deciding that the closest one to her made the most sense, she slowly started making her way to the bulb. Slow, and steady. See? She wasn't always gryffindoring. Getting smacked in the face by a bulb didn't really seem like a lot of fun to her.

One foot in front of the other until she was close enough to grab it. No problem, eh? AJ reached her arm towards the bulb, and it leaped. Whhhyyyy did they always have to do things the hard way. Now the bulb was going to have to have to get jinxed. See where that got you?

"Flipendo!" The spell actually worked for her on the first try. That's right, Aubrey Valentine came to do work today. Now that the bulb was behaving, she wrapped her arms around it and carried it back to her work station.

Ian took his wand and said Lumos in an attempt to locate his bulb. The light seemed to startle the bulb and it bounced straight at Ian's face. Before he could move, the bulb bounced on his forehead and up onto his back. Ian wasn't sure what to do now. If he moved, it might go farther away, but he couldn't see to grab it. He considered asking for help, but before he could, the bulb bounced up and away again. Ian quickly pointed his wand at the bulb Flipendo! . It hit the bulb and Ian was happy to see the bulb immobilized for a time. He went, took it in both hands and headed to the pot. He felt the spell wearing off and the bulb bouncing, bouncing, bouncing in his hand.

As soon as he got to the pot, he shoved it in the dirt and covered his hand and bulb with more dirt before trying to get the bulb buried.

Why did Ophelia choose this homework? It seemed more fun. And the kid LIKED fun.. Sitting and doing something was boring. Actually getting up and helping and touching plants. THAT was the thing that got the eleven year old going. Something that made her want to stand up and cheer, rather than sit down and draw. Or write. Or actually try to articulate words from your brain onto paper. And if you've ever seen her drawing skills, you would understand. Seriously, those skills pertained to crooked stickfigures and sad looking fish made othe way kindergardeners would make them. The kid might have been cool, and sassy, and kind, and EVER so humble, but an artist she was not. And besides taking the quicker route, the blonde was choosing the scenic route, more fun that way, and you might learn something extra. That was what her mom always said. And in a way, her mom was actually quite right. The scenic route was the one that actually involved doing something, and that was the route that she was choosing. In more words than one.

Anyway, those bulbs. They needed planting. That was the whole point of the assignment, yes? The whole reason she was picking this fun route? So pots and gloves, those were things that were going to be required. So the first year should probably get those. Watching the older kids do their thing, the blonde followed. Because rather than do somethng wrong and end up failing at this assignment. Or GET something wrong and not be able to actually do any of this. Grabbing the supploes, Ophelia set them down next to the backpack she had put to the side and set out the pot in front of her. This was how gardeners did things, yes? Because it was all so delightful and jovial. The first year might have started whistling a tune had she not been in front of everyone else. Or maybe the eleven year old would anyway. Whatever worked.

Pulling her hair back into a loose ponytale, the child then rubbed her hands together gleefully at the prospect of potting bulbs. seemed dangerous, even a little, and danger was Ophelia's middle name. Even if it was actually Just Marie. Uggh, stupid formal, normal names. They were so BORING! And then putting on the gloves and wiping the old dirt off of her hands, the blonde got ready to become master gardener in training. Hopefully this would contain karate chops. Keee----yaaah!

Bouncing Friggin Bulbs. Is all he had to say for himself. He knew they were here... and on top of that, THEY MOVED. So they were the PERFECT thing to take a photo of. Yep.

Camera out, and his wand too... just in case... he approached the cart where a number of them were stored, ready for potting. But he wasn't here for potting. He'd had enough of being beaten in the face repeatedly for a day, and a week.. and well frankly, he didn't have much interest in doing it all again. Ever. But he could quickly take a photo and then get out, no?

Breathing deeply and approaching them with careful but confident steps, Zeke held his camera up so he could capture a picture at the first sign of movement. And that sign came quicker than he'd thought.

CLIIIICKKK!!!!!

The second he clicked the photo he took a number of measured paces backward, distancing him from the vicious bulby plants. Ain't no way he was letting himself get hit, not when he had a camera to look after too.

He took the film, touched his wand to it and said clearly, "Alacer."

The bulbs in the picture, as if commanded directly, started moving and shuffling and bouncing on the spot. And now he was going to make his grand escape. NOW.

Not even hurrying to put things away, he just FLED from the greenhouses and away from the bouncing bulbs. He'd pack his bag outside thank you very much.

Given the choice between drawing a picture and planting some more Bouncing Bulbs, it was obvious which one Lux would choose. The hands on homework assignments were always her favourite, and it was seldom that she would choose essays. Potions had been an exception since she believed that manufacturing hate was a mean thing to do.

Making her way to the greenhouses, the redhead looked around and was pleased to see that there was already a decent sized gathering. Time to get to work before all the Bulbs were potted by other students! Placing her bag on one of the tables, she pulled out her gloves and put them on before heading over to where the pots and soil were. Using a trowel, she filled one of the pots halfway.

Now it was time to add a Bouncing Bulb.

Ian finally pulled his hand from the dirt and decided to take a break. He went over to a water fountain and got some water to drink. This was rather hard work. After he was done, he picked up the pot and moved it to its new home.

He went, grabbed a purple pot and poured more soil in. Using his spade, he made a hole for the bulb and went after another. This time, he was just going to jinx that blasted bulb. He walked over, pulled out his wand, picked out a bulb and pointed his wand at one he thought looked especially purple. flipendo! he missed. Of course, this homework was crazy. Ian put his wand up, reached out as quick as he could and succeeded in scattering these things in the cart. He needed another break, now that he'd agitated the bulbs. He sat at his table and read more about the bulbs.

Heading towards the cart, Lux had a feeling that she would need to use the knockback spell again. Her movements were slow and as non-threatening as possible, but the Bulb she had her eyes on STILL decided to wiggle. Frowning, she figured there was nothing to lose and reached out towards it...only to be whacked in the face.

HMPH.

How RUDE.

Watching the Bulb bounce off, Lux cast Flipendo at it. If only it had behaved itself, that never would have had to happen.

Quickly picking the Bulb up, Lux placed it in the pot. Using the trowel she added more soil until it was half covered. There. One Bouncing Bulb planted.

Ian decided his rest was over. He needed to get this done. He checked over his pot once again, making sure it was still ok. He pulled his gloves back on, slipped a pair of goggles over his eyes and headed back for the cart. This time, the voice in his head (theoretically speaking to the bulbs) was working overtime.

NOTHING TO SEE HERE, BULBIES! Just a calm student, out for a stroll through the greenhouses, not looking to catch bouncy bulbs AT ALL! He continued to move cautiously over to the bulb basket because he really wanted to be done with this assignment. It was taking a lot out of him. Ian wondered how he could manhandle large Atlantic Cod, but couldn't get a handle on wee purple baby bulbs. It was vexing, to say the least.

When he was near enough to the cart to reach out and grab bulbs, he decided to try a different tack. He watched. He observed, he stood as still as he could, hoping another student didn't come along and agitate the bulbs. He was getting close to exhausted. He watched...and waited.....

Kace decided to come down to the greenhouses to try and attempt the homework the professor assigned. He did really well during the lesson and thought he could ace this. He was good at drawing but he loved doing physical activities. He got his notebook with him to help him follow the steps. He needed to get a pot and soil. He nodded and went to the front of the room and got a pot and some soil to fill it up in.

He placed his pot down on the desk and filled the pot halfway up with soil. Once he felt it was enough, his next step was to get a bouncing bulb plant. He had to remember what spell he used to stun the plant. He heard a student use it and then he remembered, it was Flippendo!

Ian was ready. He saw one that caught his eye and he reached for it. He wasn't going to try the flipendo if he didn't have to. He was FINALLY quick enough and snagged a bulb that was just smaller than his hand and was able to contain it under the hand tent he had formed. The other bulbs were now upset and were bouncing off his forearms and hands, trying to dislodge their compadre. Ian was having none of it. He shouted at the other bulbs I GOT 'IM AND I'M NOT LETTIN 'IM GO! He gently slid his hands closed underneath the bulb to contain it between his palms. This was going to happen. He walked quickly to his new pot and thrust the bulb in. He picked up his right hand, grabbed the soil while maintaining control with his left hand and began to pour soil into the pot. His hand was getting covered and soil sliding into his gloves, but no worries. Dirt don't hurt. Soon enough, Ian had completely covered the bulb and pulled his hand from the dirt. He patted the top to make sure all was good and smacked his hands to break off the loose dirt on the gloves.

Ian picked up the pot and moved it where it could get the sun it needed. He grabbed a broom and headed over to clean up his station. He swept the dirt off the table to the floor, and cleaned up all the dirt beneath him (as much as he could). He put his tools away and took some notes about which pots were his and how he had accomplished his task.

Satisfied he'd accomplished the task, Ian grabbed his remaining items, stuffed them in his satchel and left the greenhouse.

Alright time to get his bouncing bulb. He had his pot all filled and got his soil in it. He made his way over to the cart the professor gave them with the plants. He got his wand just incase even though they were babies. They could probably pack a powerful whack! He saw Lux getting whacked in the face and he couldn't help but smirk and laugh quietly to himself. Gotta be more careful Lux...

He got his wand and saw the plant was flailing wildly. It could probably sense his nervousness. He calmed himself down and closed his eyes and remained calm. He opened one eye and the plant seemed calmer now. He smiled and walked over and picked it up. Hmmm....it seemed fine to him now. It wasn't whacking him or anything. He was doing well. He didn't let it last for long. He went over to his pot and got his trowel and dug a little hole. He placed it in the little hole and used the trowel and patted it down. There that was easy! Now onto getting a few more.

Her bulb was at her work station, and being pretty cooperative after being hexed. It was funny how those sort of things worked out for you. She pulled her pot closer and started to fill it with some soil. Had to get the area nice and bulb approved. Once she got the soil in there, she picked up the bulb.

SMACK! Really? Hadn't they just went over this? There was no reason to be a jerk about being potted. "Here I am making you a nice little home, and you don't even appreciate it." So rude. The bulb was totally going to be thrown into his pot. She was over the smacking. How could it do that anyways? Was her spell not strong enough? Either way it was a done deal.

The bulb was placed firmly into his little home aka pot, and AJ threw some more dirt on top until the halfway mark. She was done with that one. Did she really want to go fight another bulb? Maybe she would be able to get the next one to behave.

Feeling pleased with herself, Lux was ready to plant another Bouncing Bulb. Heading over to the pots, she selected one before filling it half way with the soil. This was pretty easy work, and did not take much time at all. And look, Kace was there! Smiling, she waved at her friend but wasn't sure if he saw her.

Heading back over to the cart, she moved slowly but had decided to use the knockback spell again. She had no desire to be hit in the face a second time thank you very much.

Those Bouncing Bulbs were plain rude.

Selecting one, she cast Flipendo towards it then picked it up and placed it in the pot. Happily she half covered it with soil. This was such easy homework, and she wanted to pot at least one more before heading back to her Common Room. She wondered how many Kace was going to do.

Kace decided to go and get another pot for his next bouncing bulb. He was pleased with his first try and it was successful. It seemed that Lux was doing fine too. He was pleased his friend was doing well. He got another pot and still had the soil from before. He placed the pot and got the soil from the bag and filled it halfway. He decided to dig a hole in it to prevent stalling more time when he had his next bouncing bulb.

Once he was satisfied with the soil, he went over to the carts and was remaining calm. He tried to at least. He went closer and didn't proceed with caution and the plant....

THWACK!!!!

AGH! He forgot to conjure Flippendo. He covered his nose and man that hurt! This one was a strong one even for a baby. He needed to pay more attention. He got his wand from his robe and said, "Flippendo!" and then it seemed knocked out. He took it from the cart and brought it over to his work station.

Heading back over to where the pots were being kept, Lux selected one and was about to start scooping the soil in with her trowel when she heard a loud noise.

Looking up, she saw it was Kace who had been hit in the face by his bouncing Bulb. Okay, she really wanted to be nice and not laugh, but it was hard. Funny was funny and he didn't seem to be in pain or anything. Covering her mouth, she tried to stop the giggles and was glad when they subsided a moment later. Now she could go back to work again.

Once she had filled her pot half way, Lux made her way over to the cart to get another Bouncing Bulb.

After the incident of having the planet whack him on the nose. Bloody merlin that did hurt. He had it at his workstation and since he had the hole dug, he planted the plant into the hole and patted it down with soil. There that was two done. He was sweating and he checked his nose. It wasn't bleeding but it was gonna be sore for a bit. He could live with that. Alright onto his last bulb and then it was lunch time. He looked at his watch, it was 11:30. He still had had time to do at least one more.

He got another pot from the front and brought it back to his workstation. He began filled it up halfway. He smiled and dug his hole with his tool and then went over to get his bouncing bulb. He didn't plan to get hit in the nose again. He was gonna use the spell to be sure. He got his wand out, but he tried to remain calm. He took a deep breath and approached the cart and let's see what happens.

Slowly approaching the Bouncing Bulbs, Lux watched them carefully. She wanted to see if she could get close enough without being whacked again. She was trying to look as innocent as possible and the plants had to notice.

When she was a few feet away, she saw the first one start moving so it was time to give it up as a lost cause. Sighing, Lux once again used Flipendo. The little guys never stood a chance, they should have realized it by now. They couldn't be very smart. Picking the Bulb up, she placed it in the pot before covering it half way with soil. Now she was done and could leave to do other things like nap. Napping sounded very good right now.

After moving the pots where she felt they would benefit most from the sunlight, Lux cleaned everything up and made her way out of the greenhouses.

As Kace approached the carts, he realized the bulb was not flailing around as much. He still had his wand at the ready. He didn't want a repeat of what happened last time. His nose was still a little bit throbbing. He rubbed it and it wasn't too bad now. It was tender but it wasn't broken. I mean if a baby bulb could break his nose, that would be concerning to him.

He reached over and realized the bulb snapped and it was getting mad. Kace was soo close! He got his wand out and said, "Flippendo!" and then the bulb was knocked out. He felt bad but it was for his own safety. He nodded and took the bulb and brought it over to his workstation. He put it into the soil hole and it fit easily. Then he put soil around it and patted it down. He even put water in the soil and watered all his other bulbs. Huh...it was noon! He was done for the day and he thought he did well with the homework. He was proud of himself. He cleaned his hands with soap and water. He wiped the sweat off his face. He put his bulbs on the wooden bench to let the professor see his work. He grabbed his bag and was off to get some relaxation time.

Angel walked into the Herbology greenhouse and she hoped that everything was going to be alright. She had never figure out what she was going to do when she got here except plant a young bouncing bulb and now she was totally bored.

Angel went over and got a pot and she then went over to her work station this was going to be amazing and fun. She then went over to an empty work station and put the pot down this was going to be awesome.

Angel then went and got some soil and put it in the pot, she totally thought this was amazing and she wanted to do the best she could. Once the pot was half full she then looked around trying to figure out which bulb she wanted to plant.

Zeke followed Kace across the grounds, his bag strap over one shoulder and his jar secure in his hands. He was still a little... unsure... about letting his fairy out, just because it had taken so much effort to get it in. But with Kace, he figured it would be easier. He was an older student... so he knew that spell, right? Or so he could hope.

"Which greenhouse is this?" He asked, looking around. Wait. This wasn't the one with the bouncing bulbs, right? Though he'd visited them before, all the greenhouses looked the same to him. From the outside they were identical save for the numbers, and on the inside they were... well... full of plants. So, yeah. Legit question.

Noticing his fairy had brightened up at the sight of the GREEENS, Zeke started loosening the lid.

Angel looked around and smiled as she saw her sister doing homework this was nice because when they were at primary school she had a funny feeling her sister didn't like homework now though she had a funny feeling she was doing it because of a certain prefect her sister was in love with.

Angel had to go and get a bulb but she had to try and figure out how she was going to get it... she went to get one but she was sure they were starting to get excited and Angel didn't want to get too close... she keep looking at her pot then she realised she could use a spell but what was the name of the spell she needed.... Oh yeah that was it. She started to get close to the young bouncing bulb.

Kace was back yet again in the greenhouses. He already did the bouncing bulbs assignment. He saw his over there and he smirked at them. He saw Zeke was following and after they reached their destination. He saw him loosening the lid. He did the same and the fairies seemed skeptical of it at first. He urged them to come out. They smiled and flew! They were soo happy. They were soaring and stretching out their wings. It seemed like they were a couple because they were circling around each other and holding hands. He smiled and was glad they were having fun. "Do you see them Zeke?" he asked pointing to his fairy couple.

Angel looked at the Bulb in front of her and she then decided that it was time to give it a new home. "I'm going to make you a nice new home." Angel giggled as she looked at young bulb that she had found. "I'm going to make sure that you have everything perfect." Angel was totally in love with Herbology and she loved plants.

"I'm sorry about this." Angel looked straight at the Bouncing Bulb. "It's not got to hurt you at all I promise."

"Flippendo!!" Angel give her wand movement and she then saw the spell hit. Angel took the stunned bulb back towards her work station.
