| | Fireworks Show
As the sun sets over the lake and the event comes to a close you're all invited to gather by the edge of the lake. There's no need to bundle, there's plenty of shore and seeing room for everyone who wants to see the grand finale; the great firework show. The only lights present are those of torches spred evenly to prevent everyone from bumping into each other but nothing else in an effort to make the firework show as spectacular as possible.
The heating charms are still in place however the little chill at the end of the day can still be felt. Hope you dried properly if you'd taken part in the water sports. The Healer's not looking for company tonight.
You watch the last of the sun's light vanish and the noises of the evening begin pouring in. That's when you see it, the first explosion of light shooting up into the night sky. It's quickly followed by another, then another until the sky is ablaze with bright and brilliant colours. Enjoy the show with friends or that special someone but remember, your student leaders are watching and are prepared to haul your butts off to a Professor at the first sign of 'trouble'.
Aren't the lights beautiful tonight?

It also had become apparent that he wasn't his usual giant self, but a scrawny, tiny, human-sized (barely even human-sized, actually. Hobbit-sized) giant.
The Giant slammed the book to the ground and stomped even closer to the boy. "WHERE is my BEANSTALK, child???" He yelled in the most authoritative voice he could manage in this state. Dylan watched in surprise as he suddenly slammed the book to the ground and advanced on him. The fourth year swallowed hard and backed up as the groundskeeper neared him, staring wide eyed at him and jumping slightly (and nearly falling over!) when he yelled at him. Beanstalk?
That book had definitely done something to him. Frowning, Dylan turned frantically to look at it as it laid on the ground. He wanted to know what in the world it had done to the groundskeeper, but he didn't want the same thing to happen to him. Hmmm...

She had totally forgotten that she had picked the book up in order to destroy it. |

"How could I ever repay you for helping me advertise?" Ruby asked teasingly. She was sure they could both think of plenty of ways, but the banter was fun. As for the hand holding... "Maybe I don't. Do you?" Need an excuse for it? Because her hand was right here if he wanted it. It was a good hand, he knew that too.
Ruby giggled at his assertion that he was good company, didn't need to tell her that, did he? Obvy she wouldn't bother with him if he wasn't. She fixed her eyes on the sky again, still smiling. "You can buy magical fireworks you know. They're usually brighter and bigger and last longer, and some of them are shaped like things... you know, dragons and whatever, and they move around." Hadn't he seen before? That was cute. Ruby leaned against Grayson a little bit and kept watching the show. Too bad it couldn't last forever. Always room for improvement. Those words seemed to stick to Grayson quite a bit as he nodded slowly. It was true, of course. "So you're saying that I should use this is what I should improve on?" Why did he care? Honestly, the boy didn't know.
Oh jeez. Oh MAN. Grayson burst out laughing at her words before saying, "Oh come off it, we're in a public place, Banner." But yes, he could think if a few ways. Just saying. And did he need an excuse to hold her hand? "I like to think no. It's better that way." Easier, even.
For some reason, the thought of magical fireworks hadn't occurred to the Slytherin in all his years of being exposed to the magical world. Why? He didn't know. But this? This was new and interesting, especially when she mentioned, "Dragons?! Dragons that can breathe out fireworks as well? Man, that makes the muggle ones seem boring in comparison." Why hadn't he seen the magical ones before? "When you say move around......."
But his voice trailed off when she leaned against him and, instinctively, he turned to look at her for a second or two before wrapping an arm around her shoulders. And he was gonna be silent, mkay? Not gonna ruin this.

Not gonna ruin this. "Clothes can be just as fun when you're wearing them, is all I'm saying. It isn't just about being practical, and its nice to know what little things can play up your features... colours... styles... textures... its fun. And you might surprise yourself." It didn't take MUCH to impress Ruby, to be fair, but it was a thing she noticed and appreciated when boys DID take note of these things as opposed to like... sticking with the wardrobe that their mothers had filled for them. She would be happy to discuss it with him later if he wanted. Food for thought anyways.
She shot him an innocent look but smiled brightly at his amusement. Public place? Oh were they? Oh hmmm so they were. Good thing she hadn't said anything. Nope, it was his imagination that was to blame, not her fault at all. "I'll find a way to show you some time." Ruby answered, about the magical fireworks, but then she fell silent too, more than willing to just watch, especially because it was super comfortable with Gray's arm around her shoulder. She took his other hand and held it.
Because you know, didn't need an excuse for that.

She had totally forgotten that she had picked the book up in order to destroy it. As the girl finally opened the book and started reading, the words glowed and the pages turned swiftly in her hands. It was evidently clear that powerful magic was at work here. The further the girl went with the story, the stronger the glow was until finally something very peculiar left the book and soared right into the girl's forehead.

Blinking, Ariel looked around at all the different humans. They seemed to be gathered for some event and there were loud noises and pretty colours in the sky. She was transfixed.
Placing the book down where someone else could find it and read, she got to her feet and walked over to a boy (Kace). "Can you tell me what those things are? Scuttle never told me." Pointing to the sky she waited for him to answer her. And where was Sebastian? |
