His inner eye was blind... there was nothing more to it. He was a BLIND person in the inside, just not on the outside, and it was times like these where his patience was limited and pouting and frowning happened.

GAH!

..

Breathing. Breathing. BREATHING!...... wasn't working... and all of this was making him TIRED.

He'd stop trying. He was giving up. He'd just stand here, staring vaguely, and hopefully he looked like he was in a trance, maybe he could fudge this whole thing.

In the process of staring vaguely at nothing in particular that was the mirror, Zeke DID see things. His imagination was still sound, and so when he let his brain do its THING, things happened. He saw them. He saw something like a hawk, circling in the sky, outside Gryffindor Tower, with rain clouds... and there was... something else, he couldn't see...

and...

Wait. Was this his brain? Or his inner eye?.............

...

Snapping from whatever it was, he considered what it might have been. What any of this might have been. Was he just lost in thoughts of imaginary things? Or was his inner eye not so blind?

He didn't remember any fogginess..... so..... ???

Right, so she didn't see anyone else going into that deep meditative state so she was...just...gonna assume she could skip that part. It was obviously perfectly okay and this new happy feeling left her eager to TRY NOW!! Also, why was that girl watching her kneazle? DID SHE WANT TO PET HIM?? Merlin he was awfully friendly--okay, no he wasn't, not by a long shot BUT he was a sucker for affection so she could tooooootally have a go if she wanted, then they could be bestest friends--except Felix would still love her most, always.

Ohh, but these were really distracting thoughts and they were getting her nowhere. Lex gave a firm shake of her head, trying to remove the cluttering thoughts before turning her attention to the bowl once more.

Any minute now, something would start moving across the surface to WOW her and it was be so totally and completely amazing then she'd be bragging about how she SAW because that's what you were meant to be doing in this class, you know? Kinda like how the Professor saw Grayson by the lake earlier? She wondered if she'd get to see herself by the lake too--but what would she be doing at the lake? Skipping rocks? Taking Felix for a walk? He liked walks, probably more than she did--

THAT'S IT! She would see Felix on a walk by the lake. It all made perfect sense. Also, Merlin was she easily distracted when she was happy. Focus Lex!

Kace continued to breathe in and out.....in and out and just let his mind be calm and not think about anything. He closed his eyes and began to imagine something that could get his mind off things. As he opened them he didn't see anything!

I guess his inner eye didn't wanna work today.....

He was gonna try again! He closed his eyes yet again and just breathed and relaxed. As he open his eyes again he was seeing an outline of something? Hmm...what was it? He concentrated because he was curious what his inner eye was telling him.

He could see the shore line and waves as the picture became clearer. It wasn't too fuzy. He could see someone with blonde hair? Was it Emmy or his cousins back in Australia? He had NO idea. He kept his concentration but then it vanished just that quick...

THAT was progress! He was gonna see this image that is for sure. He was going to keep gazing in the mirror.

Norah let her eyelids flutter open, and she looked at the mirror from a slight angle. All she saw was herself sitting there. Awwww. Determined not to get frustrated, she steadied her breathing and continued to try and clear her mind.

In....out....in....out

As her eyes slid out of focus, she noticed something weird starting to happen in the mirror. There was some foggy...stuff floating around. WAIT. WAS IT WORKING?!? Focusing on the mirror, the second year grinned excitedly and looked for the fog again, but it was gone. Had she imagined or had it actually been there? Shrug. Time to try again.

Adjusting her position, she closed her eyes again and restarted her breathing exercise. In....out....in....out....

Cinna decided to just take notes now. It would have been just as easy to take the notes. Whichever way she was still getting the info that she needed. Either way scrying with whatever medium you chose took the same amount of calm, clearing your mind and focus. Oh. It's activity time. scrying with both mirrors and a bow of water.

Since she has attempted some scrying in a mirror already. She decided to try out the bowl of water. She went over to where try bowls were and selected one. Then she back to seat with her. Once she got back to her seat, she used her wand to fill up the bowl with water.

Now it was time to get into the scrying mode. The Gryffindor went to go get her a cup tea. It always calmed her, tea was awesome like that. A great stress reliever. She was really going to have to stock up on tea for next term being her owl year. Ekkkkkk. She returned with her cup of tea. Sipping it. She started to clear her mind.

Okay so now what? This concentration thing was so haaaaard to do.

The Gryffindor just stared at the mirror, but you know what he saw? Absolute nothing. Absolute nothing was all he saw. That and his reflection that was just staring back at him all stupidly. Is that really what he looked like today? Hm. Interesting.

Anyways, how long would he have to do this for? It was pointless. He hadn't learned anything all year. Last year divination made a little sense and at least he was able to somewhat understand how to do the stuff. Especially when it came to finding the animal prints. However, this time around... All he found himself doing was just staring at shiny objects.

Like this mirror.

When would class be over?

Jasmine looked into the mirror and tried to maintain her focus. it was hard enough clear you mind in the first place, but to keep it that way..... She was glad that the Professor had suggested turning the mirror so they could only see the wall. That helped things somewhat.

So looking into the mirror was.....interesting. Not really, but Jasmine was giving it her best effort. She decided to have a positive outlook about the whole thing. Although Professor Cassie had said that this was harder than scrying with a crystal ball. Jasmine's results with the ball had been iffy at best and so far, the mirror was proving to be less than iffy. "Keep trying Jasmine", she thought to herself.

Caleb decided to start off his work with the water because - why not, right? It was all bologna anyways in his opinion and he was pretty sure he'd never seen anything of real significance, so he was just going to wing it and do the hard one first. At least, it seemed harder, because of moving water and whatnot.

He walked over and picked up a bowl of water, carefully bringing it to his desk so he could be sure he could concentrate and not have to worry about it dumping everywhere. He leaned in and started to stare into the water, but all he could see was his reflection, which was distracting.

Maybe this was harder than he thought...

Angel decided that she was going to start with water because well that would be amazing right and she totally loved water you could do a lot with it but of course today she was going to behave because this was a lesson. "Benny... you starting with a bowl as well?" Angel wondered what her sister would be doing.

Angel went and got herself a bowl... okay this was going to be hard because she wasn't very good at concentrating though she would try and concentrate as hard as she could. She suddenly had a thought. "Professor how are we supposed to get the water?" Angel totally forgot she had her wand on her and she couldn't see taps in the class to full the bowl up.

Clearing his mind was definitely not as easy as it had been that day they'd tried scrying with the crystal balls, but it was bound to be easier than the day the evil queen had been in charge. Toby, still flopped across the pillows on his stomach, automatically tapped at the floor with his toes, and tried as hard as he could to clear his mind. Easier said than done, though, especially when there were things such as the impending OWLs that seemed to constantly draw his attention. In fact, Toby had had his eyes closed for many moments before realising he'd gotten completely distracted from the task of mind-clearing and had ended up mentally running through various facts he'd been attempting to memorise.

The Hufflepuff opened his eyes, now staring at the water which was still except from a few ripples where his breathing had momentarily disturbed the surface. This was as clear as his mind was going to get, so Toby just got on with it and stared.

And staaaaaaaaaared.

And cleared his mind and kept his mind open and stayed all relax and open up that inner eye...

And staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaared.

GAAAAAAAZEEEEEEEEEE!

Where was the smoke like thingy Professor Cassie had spoken about? All Adi could see was the reflection of the wall and a bit of his head. Hmph. Obviously he was not getting anyhere with mirror scrying. Again.

But it was early. He had only just started, so why be so negative? The Hufflepuff shook his head. Get out of there, negativity! Now, he peeked back into the mirror, letting his gaze come to rest on a particular spot on the mirror.

Still nothing.

Alrghtey then. We'll try this again.

Cassie was super nice and AJ really liked her and her lessons. Truthfully one of the main reasons why she liked it so much was because you could always fake it and still get a good grade. Orrr... you could admit that you aren't getting anything at all, and also still get a good grade. So, you see why it was one of AJ's favorites. All she had to do was pretend to concentrate and she would be okay. This was the only class that she could do that in so she was totally going to take advantage.

The bowl full of water caught her attention so she decided to give that one a go first. AJ walked up and grabbed her one at random and headed back to her desk. Now all she needed was the water. "Aguamenti." Easy peasy.

Now came the easy or hard part depending on how you looked at it. AJ took a couple of deep breaths for good measure and closed her eyes. It was time to empty out of mind. THAT was always impossible to do. Her mind was forever wandering.

Jasmine concentrated on being positive and believing that scrying in the Murrow was possible for her. That wasn't exactly clearing the mind, but she was trying to help things along. She had to remember to blink periodically. If not, her eyes would get dry and start to glaze over.

As usual, Jasmine immediately second guessed herself when she started to see something in the mirror. She leaned closer and tried to see what was going on. The mirror was getting foggier and foggier. Unfortunately, Jasmine wasn't seeing anything but fog in the mirror. Had she gotten too close and breathed on it? She didn't think so.

More staring happened, but still there was only fog to be seen. Just as Jasmine thought she might be seeing something, the timer went off. Aww man. She needed just a minute or two more..... and the connection was broken. Dejectedly, she moved on to the next task.

Once all the students got started, Cassie decided to get another cup of tea. Once her peppermint tea was in hand she began walking around watching everyone. Staying as quiet as possible she knew she had to let them focus. They all seemed to be doing very well.

Some seeming more focused and others seeming more frustrated. "Don't get discouraged if it doesn't happen right away, you will get it, just keep practicing." As she turned to look at another group of students she noticed Zhenya fall backwards. "Dear are you alright?" That's when she noticed the glove on her hand. "Are you cold? I could warm up the room a bit more."


Noticing a hand raised she turned to Angel, but couldn't answer without blinking a few times first. "You do know the water spell don't you?" She wasn't a brand new first year so she assumed she did. "Just use your wand dear." Giving her an encouraging smile she moved to the next group.

Benny was focusing his attention on listening and taking notes. The questions and answers were going quickly and while some sunk in and he could think of a reply, his classmates were far faster so he stayed quiet. Plenty of time for participation later in the class when he could move at relatively his own speed. Well until the so-called timer to switch was pulled and he had to move onto the next option.

Thinking on the two forms they would be working on, Benny considered what to do first. Technically he had already tried scrying to no avail in the earlier class when drama had taken place in the form of the Evil Queen. So when they were free to move onto the activity, the fourth year moved to retrieve a bowl, returning with it to his work area. The water was easy enough, the boy slipping his wand out from his pocket and casting a quiet "Aquamenti," within it, ending the stream of water with a "Finite."

Now for the hard part...clearing his mind.

Angel looked at the Professor, oh why didn't she think of doing that. Angel got her wand out and decided that she would use the spell it was a lot easier. "Aguamenti." Angel did the wand movement and watched the bowl full up... she stopped the spell before it was at the top of the bowl because she didn't want anything to go wrong and she hoped that it would mean she didn't spill it.

Angel went and put the bowl somewhere save and somewhere it wouldn't move because otherwise it meant that it looked like they were at sea with waves and things and she was sure that wouldn't help them at all because they couldn't see things through waves.

Did her sister seriously just ask where she was supposed to get the water from? AJ snorted. And just how was she supposed to concentrate and see anything in her water bowl when things like that were happening around her? AJ blamed the atmosphere. Of course even if she was in a room by herself she seriously doubted that she would be getting any kind of "visions" anyways.

Back to concentrating... or pretending to concentrate. More deep breaths. Heeeey... what was up with the lack of tea and treats? Wasn't that a thing? AJ let it slide last time because the professor was possessed, but what was the excuse this time?

AJ decided to just continue to stare at her bowl. Nothing was happening, and she was not at all surprised. More staring and pretending to concentrate was happening. Her dog Rufus came to mind, and how much he would loooove this nice cold bowl of water. She wondering what he was doing right now...

While she waited for something to happen, she found herself swaying to the happiest tune; one that couldn't actually be heard but it didn't mean she wasn't listening to it anyway. It was the mood. The smile on her face said as much but the swaying was soon put to rest when she discovered it brought forward even more thoughts and she was meant to be clearing her mind and opening her inner eye for this to happen.

So, sitting perfectly still again was the order of the day. Occasionally she glanced over at her kneazle to be sure he wasn't messing with things that didn't concern him but for the most part her attention was the water...at least unless that girl fell over yelling the way she did.

Had something happened? Gosh Lex was missing everything because she had to keep staring at this bowl that was yielding zero in the way of results.

Just then she looked up and realized someone had gotten done with the mirror. Well considering this wasn't working....Lex hopped up and headed over to it. Might as well try something else.

Alright after this he needed to work with the water bowl. He wanted to get this right or at least see SOMETHING! Instead of just staring at himself in them mirror. I mean he wasn't horrible to look at but he just wanted to see something else. He tried to clear his mind because he saw something before but then it vanished. Nothing was more irritating than that.

He closed his eyes and began to relax. He wanted to know what his inner eye was seeing. He keep doing his deep breaths and in through his nose and out through his mouth. Once he opened his eyes and tuned out the other noises he was beginning to see something. Something was forming in the mirror. He was still concentrating and was seeing a picture..

He could see something beige colored.....it was forming like it was some type of sand from the beach? He still kept at it. He was seeing some sand now and some water and waves. He actually knew where this was. He could see the outline of a white beach house. Wait a minute....it was Braedon's beach house. He was picturing his family. I guess his inner eye was telling him that he was missing his family get togethers.

He smiled and was happy he figured it out! Now onto trying with the water.

Jasmine went up and got a bowl then looked for a suitable spot to place it. When she found one she thought was acceptable, she set the bowl down and took out her wand. Pointing it at the bowl, Jasmine said "Aguamenti". The bowl began to fill with water and when she felt it was just enough, Jasmine said, "Finite".

Since Jasmine had been close to getting something with the mirror, she hoped that her inner eye would transfer to the bowl of water. Maybe she didn't lose it completely when the timer went off. Closing her eyes again, Jasmine tried to get her mojo back.

Focusing and breathing, Jasmine attempted to clear her mind. When she felt that she was close, she opened her eyes and looked into the water. She was careful not to jostle the bowl in any way. That would be counterproductive. Come baaaaack inner eye. Come baaaack.

After looking at her reflection in the mirror for a minute or two, Lux decided that it was time for her to get to work. Professor Cassie wanted them to scry and she wasn't a vain person. She just felt really pretty today which was quite unusual for her. But anyway...on to scrying now.

Needing some more tea first, Lux headed back to her table and took a sip from her cup before heading back to the mirror. First things first she situated herself in what she felt to be the best spot for seeing something. Since she was hardly an expert on the subject, this was only a guess but at least she was doing something. There was also no Queen standing over her shoulder giving demands which helped.

Closing her eyes, Lux focused again on deep breathing and pushing all negative energy from her body.

Okay, so mirror scrying was NOT for him. No foggy/smoky stuff meant no images for him. Big surprise, that was. Anyway, the timer had just went off so mercifully he would be switching to the bowl of water now. Bye bye bye, Mirror.

Adi grabbed a bowl before returning to his seat. He set the bowl in front of him before filling it with water using the Charm. Almost to the top, just as Professor Cassie had said. Now to clear his mind yet again.

Eden took quite a bit to clear her mind completely. She just had a lot on her mind was all. Would she FAIL out of Hogwarts? She certainly hoped not--would Iwin be able to help her Mam start the things she wanted to--well--she certainly hoped SO in that instance.

Ugh.

She was trying not to think about things but in turn was THINKING about things. She opened her eyes and blinked...and siiiiighed and rubbed her head. Massaging her temples...ahh...felt nice...heheh. She closed her eyes once more and did the whole...'CLEAR YOUR MIND' thing. It did take a good while to get to think about nothing--but she siiiighed and stared down at the mirror. Her stupid reflection---

UGH UGH UGH.

She was THINKING again. OKAY. Eden shut her eyes once more and had to have a SERIOUS talk with herself about being mean to herself in the middle of CLASS all right? Maybe I should have started with the water first--well--ugh--no--just--don't be mean to your own FACE, Eden! and she felt crazy because YIKES SHE WAS TALKING TO HERSELF but at least she wasn't speaking aloud. Then other people would KNOW she was crazy. She tried to clear her mind again and rubbed her temples while doing so...okay...

Angel suddenly heard a snort and turned to face her sister... was her sister snorting at her... it wasn't like she hadn't forgotten things before... she was such a crazy sis and Angel couldn't take it so she stuck her tongue out at her sister... if her sister didn't stop soon a cat fight was going to happen soon.

Angel looked down at her bowl and tried to concentrate but her sister had made her mad. "Sis you have totally made me lose my concentration." Angel pouted as she looked at her sister and then back at her bowl... she tried too concentrate but her mind was on her sister and that snort how dare her sister snort at her... she never did that to her sister.

Angel looked at the water but still nothing was coming through and she was hating it... it just wasn't her day thanks to her sister... she wished that everything would get working but she doubted that it would work hopeful the mirror would work.

Continuing with her deep breathing, Lux let her body go loose before opening her eyes and focusing on a specific part of the mirror that was in her immediate field of vision.

Everything was foggy, but she was sure there was something in the depths of the mist. Something that was a lot clearer to her than whatever she had seen in the bowl of water before it had poofed on her. Trying her best to concentrate without moving, she struggled to work out what she was seeing but it was too hard. Other people were probably having way more success than her, but she told herself that at least she had improved a lot when it came to scrying.

It was something she would have to practice more with, and maybe some day she would be as good at it as Professor Cassie was. And if not that was okay too, because Divination was only an interest of hers. Potions was the class that she felt the strongest about; it was her strength and what she wanted to pursue when she graduated.

Patiently she waited to see what they would be asked to do next while wondering what the personal items had to do with scrying.
