Class was starting, and Lux couldn't wait to find out what magical creature they would be working with this lesson. Looking around she tried to spot the animal but couldn't find it anywhere. Weird.

Raising her hand she offered an answer to the question. "Jobberknoll feathers are a potions ingredient."

Someone sat next to him on the bench and it wasn't Zander...what? Kevin looked to his side and saw that it was the Gryffindor wannabe Eden. Why would she want to sit next to him? He had thrown away things of hers. Lied and manipulated her in to telling that she had to get a branch from the whomping willow to prove she was really a lion and he had laughed at her. And here she was! Sitting right ne-- kyle...KYLE!

Kevin glared at her. No one called him Kyle! And judging by the grin she knew what she was doing. He had already warned her that if she said that he would hex her and he was a man of his word when it came to that. His wand fell from his wrist holster and in to his hand. He still kept it HIDDEN under the sleeve of his robe and then....the Professor talked.

He holstered the wand back and ignored Eden. He would have attacked her by now if he had been younger but he was thirteen now and actually working on his behaviour. That didn't mean that she was safe though. He grinned to himself. There was bound to be some kind of activity during class and he would see if he could make his move then. WATCH YOUR BACK EDEN MUWAHAHAHA!

"feather of a phoenix is used as a wand core" he said. "It's the most powerful...like this one" he twirled his own wand between his fingers and griined to Eden. Was she getting scared huh huh huuuh? ]

Mr. Rogers.... really? REALLY? COULD PEOPLE PLEASE STOP CALLING HIM THAT!!! ....... "Zeke, Sir, Zeke is just fine." And much much MUCH preferred. Mmhhmmmm.

Obediently though, he waited, and when Josie joined him, the Gryffindor couldn't help but smile. She was awesome, and a Ravenclaw, which was definitely a good thing in terms of having someone to work with if the opportunity arose. Smart one she was. Oohhhh and jobberknoll feathers, hehe they'd used those recently too.

As for his own response, something to share....

Zeke's hand shot up into the air. "Clabbert tooth, Professor! It's my wand core." And it was EPIC. Clabbert's were super cool too, in general, he'd read about them before school started and everything!

Cutty was a good slave, Agatha approved of his hard work. Nothing extraordinary, though, so no need to compliment him or anything. She played the part well as she didn't look at him or her books or anything as he settled in a seat near her. Royal people didn't look at their slaves when in public. They were just doing their work, after all.

The fourth year did glance at her housemate when he gave his answer, though. He had mentioned that just a few minutes ago while they waited for the class to start. Morgana, he really was excited to play with dung, wasn't he? Odd.

Agatha wanted to say unicorn hair, but a Ravenclaw girl beat her to it and the Slytherin narrowed her eyes at her. She had to think of something else now. Hmph. The professor had said 'magical' creatures, so she couldn't mentioned her uncle's bees either. Hmph. She raised her hand before giving giving her answer. "Billywig sting."

"Granian feathers are wand cores tooo professor." Ruby offered, hand raised. Well hey, she had to pick up a thing or two bugging her cousin at Ollivanders (or really, cute interns that sometimes ended up there). And really there were a whole ton of creatures that ended up as wand cores in some way, which was cool. Her own wand had a banshee hair for a core.

Jasmine smiled when Professor Thompson greeted her and offered congratulations on becoming Prefect. "Thank you sir. I just hope I live up to the challenge."

Jasmine was still perplexed by her Aladdin encounter. Mercifully the Professor called the class to order. And a question was posed right off the bat. This time she had an answer ready so she raised her hand. "Acromantula venom is used in potions and it is very valuable." There, Jasmine had made her initial contribution. Now she could sit back, listen and take notes as necessary.

Angel looked at the Professor and raised her hand. "What about a basilisk fang?" Angel had heard about them. "I know you can use them to destroy stuff." Angel wondered if they would be good for anything else.

Ian looked up as the professor began to speak more teacherly. He glanced at his own pocket watch and saw class time was here. He slid his book back into his satchel and listened. Seemed like professors were all about gauging their knowledge level. Ian listened to the other students and decided to try an response he wasn't 100 percent sure about. He raised his hand and when recognized, answered Professor. Don't know the truth of it now, but I've read about folks using dragon scales to make armor. it would be really! really sweet to have dragon scale armor.

"Deadman's toe and EYE OF NEWT! Mixed together will brew a poot!" Zahra recited, then promptly died laughing. That was a classic. Sigh, where was Mikey at to laugh with her again?

Sigh.

Sigh.

"I mean, flobberworm mucus. REMEMBER when you made me collect it, SIR!" Not a question because he TOTES did remember. "Hehe."

..........Wait. WHAT? They were going deeper into this maze....thing? With that GIGGLING?!

Gabriel was now hiding in the back, crouching down and trembling a bit. Face flushed, his anxiety SPIKED...What if he couldn't get out? What if they left him in there.....and forgot about him? What if....he got viciously mauled by some ridiculous animal....? What if whatever was making that noise......was COMING for him.....Them.....ALL OF THEM.....

He swallowed hard, trying to focus on the professor's voice. Gabe wanted to answer the question...but what were words. He couldn't...make his voice work. He. Was. Terrified.

'Occamy eggs. From Occamies. Liquid Luck potion and.....the shells.....He and Jere had researched....'

...He was going to be sick...

...and he was. A moment later. Doubled over and heaving up his morning breakfast...before collapsing back.

Hady whispered a quiet greeting as both Brooklyn and Norah joined her at the bench she was sat on. Now she wasn't alone and what was better was she knew both girls.

Items collected from magical creatures used for our benefit. Hmm. There was a few that she could think of but they had all already been said by someone else. Remembering something she was told once she raised her hand into the air. "Demiguise hair. It's really valuable and can be used to make invisibility cloaks."

Lowering her hand into her lap she smiled softly sitting straighter in her spot.

Norah pulled her materials out and set them on her lap, placing her quill on a piece of parchment to begin taking notes. Hmmm. Useful animal parts? Looking down at her own wand, she placed her hand in the air. "Unicorn hairs are used in wands, professor." THOSE were useful because they were in her wand, mmhmm.

Hugh was downright SPRITELY. This was an ah-mazing class, yo. Helped that the Professor was mad chill. Like, man, such a cool person human.

AND HE KNEW THE ANSWER TO A QUESTION.

Boom pow. Lean back Professor man and prepare to be amazed. With his answer.

He squealed and tried to skirt away from it. These were expensive SHOES.

"Thanks, Professor,'' Adi replied. "I'll do my best to be a good one.'' Indeed he would.

Easy question. The Hufflepuff knew of quite a few ingredients that could be collected from Magical Creatures. After listening to a few answers from his classmates, he raised a hand. "Runespoor eggs, Professor. They can be used in potions to help with mental agility.''

Eden just smiiiiiiled at him. He was glaring. Oh yes. She waved a little and glanced back at the professor. He hadn't done anything rude.....yet. But she expected it, and sure, she wasn't scared--but still. She had to be on guard. He didn't even say hi. Rude. "You're supposed to say hi back..." she whispered, raising an eyebrow....

Plus she had completely forgotten that he promised to hex her if she called him Kyle again. Oops? Eden just wriggled next him, trying to get all comfy, before the professor began to speak.




Sooooo Eden was excited about this class. She actually KNEW stuffs about creatures and UGH. She was practically bouncing with confidence for once. And it felt GREEAAAAAAT. She raised her hand at his question almost instantly.

"Unicorn horns can be used in lots of potions. Mostly it's used for a common antidote to most poisons. Doesn't mean it always works, but it mostly works. So yeah. That's definitely a benefit." She said with a nod. There were lots of things in the unicorn that were useful--she was surprised she even know what kind of potion the horn was used for. She would have mentioned the blood thing, but then again--that was only half a benefit, wasn't it? Immortality....but a cursed life...yeah, Eden didn't really consider that a benefit.

Had someone just---Eden looked over and...oh. There was vomit. Ew. Did Hogwarts had a janitor or something? She pinched her nose and looked back at the professor. yeah....someone should pick that up..Eden would have, if she knew the spell.

Class was beginning and soon enough the curiosity would be answered. Though besides the mysterious giggling there seemed to be something else off if he was hearing things correctly from another portion of the group. But for now he wasn't going to focus on that. He was going to pay complete attention to the class he loved. And the professor had just asked the first question causing him to raise his hand to answer.

"Re'em blood is used in potions and to give the drinker immense strength," he answered before lowering his hand. Funny that it was a potion item he could think of to supply. His worst subject helping out his favorite one?

Her face fell a little when the professor confirmed that there wouldn't be any unicorns at today's lesson, but he didn't say that there wouldn't be any unicorns at all. That was major. Unicorns would be happening. A huge smile was back on her face. "Ohhhh, I love surprises." Especially when it dealt with unicorns. This was great stuff.

As far as the question was concerned, AJ thought that you could really say anything. The first thing that popped into her mind came out of her mouth. With a raised hand, she said "What about the jewels in a fire crab?" What you could do with them was another story, but they were pretty, and there had to be some use to them.

Oooh, what were they going to talk about? Rumple felt like maybe this WOULD be a good way to learn something, since they were talking about taking things from creatures to make themselves more powerful. SO he might learn something after all. Especially since his wandless magic didn't seem to be working anymore...it must have disappeared the same night he ended up in this place.

"Well, Billwig stings are used in candy or something. And in potions," Rumplestiltskin replied. He was going to keep calm and not make a scene in this class...not until he saw what the subject of the lesson was, of course.

At the sound of that new kid HUGH squealing, Zahra looked back to where that crew was congregated.

"Oh hey, hey Professor. Gabe just died. He does that in every class so don't feel bad, but you better go look at that."

Layla tilted her head as she listened intently to the Professor's introductions and his blabbling on about going deeper into a maze and a question was asked. She was going to contribute something but everyone else was sticking their hands up en-masse and sprouting out a load of answers. She wasn't really listening but it took the Ravenclaw longer to think back to her textbook reading before she could respond. She hadn't focused much on this lesson after all.

"Bicorn horns are used in the Polyjuice Potion" she offered. It wasn't a brilliant usage but at least she had referred to the exact name. Had anyone mentioned that already? Did she really care if they had?

No.

As for the rest of the class the fifteen-year-old couldn't help but notice the drama queen throwing up in the corner. He'd probably over-indulged in the great hall or something. He recieved no sympathy, just a roll of the eyes. ALL the kids were like that at this school. Mental.

Absolutely bonkers.

Oh and she HAD noticed Eden's little wave to get her attention but Layla hadn't adhered to it. She was quite content in the corner over here. Away from the crazies. Well WELL away.

They were gonna go deeper into the maze? BRILLIANT. Grayson was all up for THAT, clearly. As long as they were gonna face creatures that were epic and interesting. If they were going to bump into a freaking flobberworm or whatever, he was not going to be impressed because those creatures did NOTHING.

One thing he knew for certain was that there wasn't a dragon in the depths of the maze. Sad, man. He was dead eager to learn more about them.

What ingredients from creatures were beneficial to humans? WELL. This wasn't too hard to answer, was it?"Ashwinder eggs can be frozen using the Freezing Charm and then be used to clear ague. Dead useful to humans. You have to eat them whole, though." Nod. "And people use them for Love Potions or whatever." Not that he knew much about that because did he need a love potion to make someone fall in love with him? LOL. No. Whitty charm.

Oh will you look at that? Someone couldn't handle the class. Buckle up, kid.

Aladdin remained standing by the strange man he mad a deal with. Something told him, he'd better keep an eye on this man. Most likely he was the unpredictable sort of guy. It was the predictable ones you wanted to watch out for though. Because you always knew when they would do something stupid. Whereas the unpredictable people, you never knew what they might do next. Just as he was about to walk back over to Jasmine the Professor spoke. Hmmm.

Hmmmmm.

Hmmmmm. Knowing only one magical creature Aladdin raised his hand and said "Phoenix Feathers can be used in multiple things...also...my name is Bastion...it's Aladdin." Biting his lip after he said his answer, he was nervous about this. Were Phoenix Feathers actually useful for magical things? Aladdin didn't really know so he just took a stab in the dark at that. He prayed that his answer would be at least semi right.

Also why did the Professor call him 'Mr. Bastion'? That wasn't even close to his name! People at this place were just butchering his name. Who was this Gregoire or Bastion person that they spoke of? Did Aladdin bump his head, and was this all just a big dream? Pinching himself to make sure he gave a little yelp as he pinched a bit harder than he wanted to. One thing was certain though...

Definitely not a dream.

Marigold drummed her fingers on her thigh as she excitedly raised her hand and waited to be called on. Along the way, she spotted Z and Ruby, but even their appearances couldn't be better than the idea that was slowly taking form in her mind (and also had nothing to do with her answer).

She was going to say something from a unicorn, but a bunch of other people already said that. So instead her answer was directly connected to that boy... Ruby's brother... Gabe, as Zahra called him. "Armadillo bile is useful in potions, sir." But not anxiety throw-up. She averted her eyes from the pile of sick and instead tried to also gesture towards Gabe for the professor.

They were going further?? Sweet Circe, they were trying to find Neverland. The adverb strategically placed before the word 'land' should have been all the Professor needed to understand that it shouldn't be done and Lex couldn't think of anything they'd find further off in these hedges--especially not anything that giggled. Seriously, where was that coming from and WHY? You could never be too sure any more.

It seemed almost impossible at first, but Alexa managed to pry her attention fro the hedges long enough to make an attempt at the Professor's question.

"You've also got Billywig stings. Those have been proven useful and entertaining." They were the stuff in Fizzing Whizbees, yeah? That was all she cared to know. Dead useful it was and now she was missing her candy bag even more. It had a couple packs of the stuff in it and she could have used some right about now.

Also, the question got her wondering. Was this a collection class?

Kace chuckled and was glad he was sitting next to his girlfriend. She seemed happier too and he held her hand underneath the seat. Typical couple motion? Anyways back to the class task at hand. He smiled at his panda answer. But then he heard the teacher ask a question. Hmm, he thought of one. "Professor I know unicorn blood is used in some potions and it give the drink eternal life but also a cursed life."He didn't remember someone mentioning it, but if they did then they were thinking on the same page.
