Lex watched the spells being cast and a few stray ones helping them out too but hearing the Professor say they had to head back, it was time to cut their losses. Even not having frozen all the fairies, they still had an impressive number to split between the two of them. How many did they need again? The Gryffindor couldn't exactly remember but that number would hardly matter now that they were through with this so she shoved the mirror back into her pocket and began collecting the frozen fairies.

It was sometimes amazing to see what team work could get you. Without Cutty she'd probably have been diving for the hour and not having a single fairy to add to her jar--not completely accurate if she'd set the mirror just right and done a sneak attack but you got the idea. This way brought on better results and they Gryffindor was able to effortlessly place three fairies in her jar, leaving enough for Cutty.

Lex trusted he'd unfreeze the ones he didn't need and nodded toward the others for him to hurry it up before heading back with the others.

Back at the benches Lex listened to the others give suggestions for creatures like the fairies. Might have been worth an answer too but with everyone already chiming in there was no real point in repeating--even if others had. She'd just...stand here with her things now collected and wait for them to be dismissed. Something she didn't have to wait too long for actually even if it was only technically dismissed. Still needed to take a bottle of...er...whatever this thing was, pour some into her jar then hand it to the guy next to her--

Hang on, caretakers? For FAIRIES?? Did Professor Thompson NOT know the reputation her kneazle held? Circe help her. It'd be a struggle to keep them alive and away from the fury ball of terror. Oh Merlin.

"Thanks for the lesson Professor." She was off to hide her fairies.

What was that thing in the bottle? Adi had no idea but collected the box, grabbed a bottle before passing the box on to Benny. The bottle was opened followed by the jar but the jar just opened just a crack, enough for a little of whatever was in the bottle to get in.

They got to look after the fairies? This was awesome! The boy glanced over to Benny. "Let me know if you need help with that one,'' he said, nodding towards Cheeky. No fairy would be giving his bestie a difficult time when he was around.

"Awesome lesson, Professor.'' Adi grinned. It certainly had been. "Whenever you're ready to go, Benny.''

Kevin was still mumbling words under his breath as he took the bottle from the person next to him and added whatever was in there in to the jar with his fairy. He stopped mumbling when the Professor said they were to take care of the caught fairy and he looked at the jar. Ugh seriously? He didn't have time to babysit or eh fairysit.

As the Professor announced that they could either leave now that class was over or go back to the field to catch a fairy, Kevin stood up from the bench and walked with big steps towards the Professor. Yes he wasn't going to try and run away. He was a Gryffindor for Merlin's sake! "Let's get this dumb detention over with " he said with a glare.

Benny accepted the box from Adi without question, the professor already demonstrating what was to be done. It seemed whatever was inside would help them care for the fairies that were now in their care for the week. But was he the only one unsure of the mention of eggs? He shook the thought away as he gave his creatures a shake of the bottle before moving the box on further to the next student. "Certainly." If she remained as feisty as she had been earlier, he was going to have to be extra careful each time he opened the lid.

"Then we go," he agreed, his own belongings still relatively packed up nice and neat from before and with the addition of the bottle, now slung over his shoulder. Minus the jar with the fairies that he kept in his hand so as not to bump them around. "Great lesson," he told the professor himself before moving to head out with his friend.

Layla was going to offer a response to the Professor's question but all the ideas she had come up with had already been offered and she didn't exactly want to sound like a broken record. She instead stayed silent and distracted herself by watching the two fairies within her jar. They were kinda.. pretty. She wasn't going to admit that out loud anyway. The fifteen-year-old glanced back up as the Professor started to speak and offer the next instructions.

Whilst she waited for the bottle to be passed to her the Ravenclaw completed the last of her notes. She really didn't think this information would be useful but she'd give the OWL a go at the end of the year. She didn't care if she failed it though, there was no way she wanted to go down the creature babysitter route.

..Which was what their homework seemed to be. They had to look after these things? Weren't they better off out in the maze. And wasn't this a bit cruel?!

She sprinkled the whatever-it-was in the bottle into her jar and watched momentarily the fairies dancing. Meh. So what? She passed the bottle along to the next person before standing up and slinging her bag across her shoulder.

"Thanks for the lesson" She supposed anyway. At least this Professor was normal.. And very nice to look at.

Heh.

Now AJ was a fairy babysitter? Well, this was kind of cool actually. The task couldn't be that hard. She could take care of these fairies in her sleep... literally, because she didn't have any plans on letting them out of their little fairy jar.

When the bottle was passed to her, she sprinkled some on the contents on to her fairies. They were dancing. Cute. Anywho, it was time to go. AJ gathered up all of her junk, and slung her bag over her shoulder. "Thanks for the super fun lesson, professor. I can't wait until we get to babysit unicorns." He had almost promised her that in the beginning of the lesson. Couldn't go breaking her heart now, could you?

What did a fairy resemble? That was the next question. Jasmine thought about it for a moment and raised her hand. "I think fairies are kind of similar to Cornish pixies. They are both small winged creatures that fly, but the fairies have a more human look to them"

After all of the answers were given, Professor Thompson explained what they would do next. Following instructions, Jasmine received the box when it was her turn. She took a bottle from it and carefully opened her fairy jar. Before they could escape, she quickly sprinkled some of the red powder into the jar. Then she closed the jar securely and passed he box to her neighbor.

So she would be a fairy foster parent? Interesting. What did caring for a fairy actually entail? Jasmine guessed that she would find out soon. Class was dismissed and she gathered her things. Carefully holding her fairies, she got ready to leave. "Goodbye Professor", Jasmine said on the way out.

Ian was grateful that his answer was sort of correct. His eyes lit up though when the professor said he could go back and try to catch one for homework. He quickly secured his empty jar and headed back to the fairy land. He was going to get one. He quickly pushed through the bushes and looked around. It seemed the fairies felt somewhat safe and he opened his jar and quickly tried to corral one. This again was unfruitful, bit he hadn't tried magic yet. He took his wand, located a fairy lazily passing by and as soon as he could, he callsed out stupefy! happily! he saw the fairy freeze and he went to put it in its temporary home. Just as he was about to close the kid, he was pelted with small nuts. He turned to see fairies tossing nuts at him. They were more of an annoyance and he secured the lids and headed back out. He took some of the fairy food, sprinkled it in his jar and thanked the professor. good show! professor. Active fun lesson. I'll try to take good care of the fairy. he grabbed his satchel and headed out.

Class was over already, and it seemed that she would not be able to return her fairy to the bushes. Peering into her jar, Lux saw the little thing flying into the glass repeatedly. Siiiiigh. Poor little fairy. Though, she had to admit that the assignment sounded pretty fun. She'd be an amazing babysitter... or well, FAIRYsitter.

Because she was allowed to gather another fairy, Lux headed back into the bushes with jar in hand. It wasn't necessary, but if she was going to have one in her care, the least she could do was give her captive another fairy friend. There wasn't a lot of time left, so there would be no acting on her part. Instead she looked around until she spotted one floating around and quickly immobilized it with her wand. Opening the jar, she quickly added the fairy while being careful not to hurt it or let the first one escape.

Joining the class again, Lux took the red powder and carefully added some to her jar. "Thanks for the awesome lesson, Professor! Have a great day!" Grabbing her bag, she sent Thompson a wave then was on her way.

Kace was watching and took the small bottle that was being passed around and poured it into the jar. Oh? So they were keeping their fairies for their homework assignments. That was interesting. He wondered what they were gonna use them for. As he put his jar into his backpack, he said to the professor "Thanks for the lesson Professor! It was one of my favorites. I hope we get to do something like this soon." he smiled and waved then left to go and work on some homework.

Toby was totally on the ball today, offering INTERESTING COMPARISONS, no less. Thinking a little outside the box and all that.

As the box reached him, Toby took out one of those little bottles and, as Thompson had instructed, poured a little of it into the jar. He watched the fairies inside as he did so, and rolled the bottle in between his fingers. Food, right? He'd just fed them? Possibly?

Wait... class was over? Already? Toby blinked and finally tore his gaze away from the jar, staring around and the other students who were already heading off. Apparently so then. And they got to keep hold of the fairies. Aw yeaaahhhh.

The Hufflepuff shouldered his bag and stood, slipping that bottle into his pocket. With his face still pressed up against the jar, Toby started back out of the grove, just about remembering to pause and glance around at Thompson very briefly.

"Byyyyye," he said distractedly to the professor, apparently still very much captivated by his four fairies. Still with the jar held up to his face, Toby made his exit.

Zeke listened carefully, waiting for the details to come... but they didn't. All he knew was he had to take a bottle of sprinkly stuff, and pass on the box... which he DID. He looked at the substance, then back to his fairy. Was it fairy food? And if so WHAT was it? He was all set to take notes too, with his parchment on his lap, but then, the lesson was over?

Huh? .........

That was it? ...............

But... but... but... he didn't learn ANYTHING about fairies aside from what they kinda looked like. And that lots of creatures and their parts were used for stuff.
0_______________0 ... how was he supposed to care for a creature he didn't understand? .. at this stage, all he could do was thank his stars that he had a textbook. And... maybe he'd spy on some of the older kids and see how THEY looked after their fairy.

He had his fairy, and didn't particularly want to fumble around trying to catch another. There was the risk that he'd lose this one while trying to capture another anyway. It was, unnecessary.

"Thanks, Professor," he said as he departed, having hastily packed his bag.

Now... to not kill a fairy before the end of the week.

...... Okay. Zander waited for the glittery stuff to be passed over, which took a while considering there were a lot of people in this lesson. What did this stuff do anyway? Sprinkle sprinkle sprinkle. Right then, what were they gonna do with all of these fairies?

Take care of them!? B-b-but Zander wanted a cruppie, not a fairy! How were they meant to take care of them anyways? What do fairies even like to eat? How come they didn't go over any sort of just wait what? Sigh. The Gryffindor just sat there and stared at the fairies for a bit. Okay, maybe this could be fun? Right? He liked the class so this was only a part of the experience. Alright. He'd do it (as if he had a choice).

He then got up and smiled at Professor Thompson before saying a quick, "Goodbye, sir!" Wait a minute, what was Kevin going on about? Detention?....... Oh no. He vaguely saw what was going on between the third year and that random girl, but did it really call for a detention? Zander looked at Kevin for a minute before waving goodbye and walking away. He wasn't worried for his friend, he had gone through worse.

Wait...what? Take care of the fairies? Those tiny creatures can be domesticated? Err...why can't they take care of a baby hippogriff or something? That'll be cooler, really. But then again, maybe there's more than meets the eye.

As soon as it was his turn, he got himself a bottle of...fairy food perhaps, sprinkled a bit inside his jar and passed the box to the next person beside him. Was that other fairy going to-- oh. It's moving again. Quickly putting back the lid, he got up from his seat and waved to the professor. "See you around, sir." Meh. What could they possibly do with those fairies?

First off though, if he's going to take care of them for a week, he better give them names, yes? "Greetings, Cosmo and Wanda." Not so original, but he grew up watching that old show on the telly.

When the person next to her passed her the box she accepted it removing a bottle from inside the passing the box on. She opened the lid to her jar and carefully sprinkled just a bit inside of the jar and closed it back up.

Her eyes were fixed on the dancing fairies inside. She couldn't wait to write her parents and Jaxon! Cradling the jar against her chest Hady got to her feet and slung her bag over her shoulder with her other arm.

"Thanks Professor, this lesson was awesome!" She exclaimed excitedly before hurrying to leave. All the while somewhat keeping an eye on her fairies as she tried to think up names for them both... or maybe they already had names?
